P.S.~~ Forgot to mention that I had a Monarch butterfly in the big Lantana bush in the front yard today!
Emma and I watched it for quite a while! I was amazed--seems awfully late in the year for them to be here! :o]

Ms Bookworm said...

Wheeeee!!!!! Glad I survived the split! (At my age, too!)LOL :oD
Goodnight, all!

Lolly said...

The stars at night
are big and bright
deep in the heart of Texas...

That was fun...we saw 12 or 13 "shooting stars" in the half hour we were outside. We bundled up, took blankets as well and sat in the lawn chairs so our heads were supported. Smelled a kitty kat, that had me a little worried, but it was beautiful out. So many stars! Usually we we go out to look for such we see so few. We got to 11 or 12 and Jack said one more and we go in. We waited just a short while and then the brightest one went shooting across. Yea! Now to bed!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Good morning Eagle buds! Whew, it is nasty out there this morning, wind chill -13! Ya'll stay in and stay warm this morning!

magpie said...

Way to go Lolly ! Hope you and Jack made lots of wishes as those meteors went zipping past...

we were overcast here and had snow showers for quite awhile

Good Morning Eagle Pals

Feels more like Antarctica than West Virgina here this morning

Wanda Soup Kitchen plans sound great...hope Gene and his friend find out about the couple living in the tent

Best wishes for a good day, everyone

xo

stronghunter said...

Good morning!

Dana, prayers and good wishes for today.

Wow, is it cold out there!

stronghunter said...

Lolly, glad you and Jack enjoyed the show in the sky last night. It was so cold here I might've frozen to the chair.

stronghunter said...

Think I might crawl back into bed for awhile.

magpie said...

our nest is showing signs of the snow showers overnight

Hope you go back to bed Shirley!

magpie said...

next thing to look for will be Eagles or Eagle feetsies prints

but I can't watch...have an early appointment have to get ready for...

ttfn xoxox

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

It is, isn't it Magpie? I am praying we don't have another winter in the nest like last year! It was horrific, to say the least! Couldn't watch and couldn't stop watching! Hope you have a fabulous day my friend, you deserve it!

stronghunter said...

Oh my, it looks cold in that nest. Snowy and cold.

stronghunter said...

Looks to be about the same amount of snow we had here yesterday. And the tree is swaying in the breeze.

magpie said...

Hey there Sissy, thanks!
You Too....have yourself a good day!

it's a treat to "see" you

Love to the family

okay, time to get ready and head out

Prayers for a safe day, for wellness and serenity

xoxo ♥

stronghunter said...

Don't see any eagle footprints in the snow, though.

stronghunter said...

How are you today, Margy?

stronghunter said...

Oh, I guess Margy is already gone.

stronghunter said...

Good news. Progress is being made on my claims. The plastic surgeon has been approved. The glasses have been approved. Now, they are deciding where I should go for glasses.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

That is great Shirley! At least you are making progress!!

stronghunter said...

Gee, too bad about Ed's boat. I have heard about it so many times now before I get to see the eagle nest.

Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well and my glasses get taken care of quickly.

Well, my link to the eagle cam seems to gone the way of poor Ed's boat. Circling arrow.

stronghunter said...

Ah, one more session with Ed and I got the eagle nest back.

stronghunter said...

Yeah, Sissy. Progress is good!

NCSuzan said...

Good Morning ! It is 11 degrees wind chill here. Know it is colder there.

Thinking about Dana today and hope for a good report.

Shirley, progress! A slow start but hope it will speed up? How are you feeling?

Lolly, was glad to read that someone got to see some meteors. I was too wimkpy here to face the cold!

Lolly said...

Good morning! Have read the paper and soon to get ready for hair appointment. Tomorrow doctor appointment.

Yes, it was fun last night watching for and seeing so many meteors. The last one we saw was so bright and left a long trail across the sky. 39 here this morning. See the snow in the nest there. Brrrrr!!

Lolly said...

watching the nest blow in the breeze. It is almost 3D! Want a bird badly!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hedgie said...

Good morning all.
Has anyone heard some dumb theory about global warming????? At this point, I WISH! This is absolutely insane.
Only had 1 1/2 hrs. of sleep when I turned in early last night before Mai woke me up. But she went right back to sleep after a potty trip, and then we made it until almost 6. Then we slept on the sofa until 8. Cozy!

Shirley, so glad that things are moving along more rapidly.

Wanda, you have been a busy beaver! And so kind of Gene to go looking for the homeless couple...maybe he'll have better luck today.

Lolly said...

That is fascinating. Look at the nest when it is moving, it is 3D! Great cam....now Steve, where are the birds? LOL

hedgie said...

Lolly, so cool that you got to make your wishes on the stars!!!

Andy, everybody loves puppies!!!!

stronghunter said...

Hi, Lolly.

A person could get seasick watching that nest.

stronghunter said...

Going to fix some oatmeal and do some more WC stuff.

Costume Lady said...

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...
It is 20° here in Nestville and the wind is blowing, as you can see by watching the nest. I don't recall it swaying like that before, Could it be the cam swaying, or because we can see more of the ground below, or that everything is closer?? Can't remember which nest it was (maybe Maine) that made us sea-sick...well our nest is making me queasy right now, ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, yukkkkk!!

Costume Lady said...

I'm glad that Jack and Lolly got to see the SKY SHOW. Gene and I did that one year when it was probably as cold as it was last night. Went out on our deck and sat on the chairs so as to lean back and not get a stiff neck. It was something like 3 o'clock in the morning, dressed warmly, blankets, hot chocolate (didn't stay hot for very long). It paid off...the show was spectacular.
Didn't do that last night...Gene is getting over a cold and has left him with an annoying cough. Cold weather aggravates it.

It is so wonderful, the things that you can do once you have retired and don't have to get up to go to work. We have been blessed
with 10 years of retirement, now. I wish the same for all of you who aren't retired yet, but thinking about it. Believe me, you can survive with a lot less than you realize.

I guess I am behind in my reading the blog. Dana must be having her colonoscopy today...many good wishes for her!

Andrea's Emma sounds like a real sweatheard of a puppy. I can picture her lyning on the floor listing to Christmas carols and flipping those long ears when she hears one that she likes in particular;)

BTW, I think I will apply for the job of zooming in the cam at NCTC;)

Lolly said...

Way to go Wanda! You just go ahead and get that job at NCTC! :)

We have been retired 10 years as well. It has been so nice to get my life back! Mornings are my favorite thing about retirement. I love lazy mornings....then I get busy!

Lolly said...

Just ordered me some bear pajamas. Like my moose pajamas so much that decided I needed another pair. They are so cozy, have really long legs and did not shrink. Already ordered Laurel some moose pj's and have them wrapped and under the tree.

glo said...

Wanda you will find it very easy to get job references if you apply for that zoom job at NCTC :-). Lots to do here to get ready to head on south for a few weeks and pass some of the winter in GA. It will be much easier on Dex and I will enjoy time down there with my son as well SO today will be my last rip to the dam for some eagle photos before late Feb. It is supposed to be 10 this afternoon and sunny. Little breeze. Believe me that is tremendously better than what has been here the last 3 days so off I will go. Snow again tomorrow and thurs and pack on Fri. So today is the day. I hope to come back to reports of having seen Lib and Belle at the nest.
As someone already said. Cam is great now we need the birds.

hedgie said...

Email from Chrissy....they are still recuping from pleurisy. Her wisdom tooth surgery is Thurs.

Mema Jo said...

Good Cold TUES MORNING
Wanda that is a great idea - you would be an awesome Zoomer! Maybe you could even work from home like Sharon & Bev do..
Kristen is here with me today. Some final Christmas decorations will go up with her expertise hands.
I'll be in & out today.......

Mema Jo said...

Shirley it sounds like things are going to work out for you! Someone must had realized you need help now and not later. I am very happy about that!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Now that my dear folks is a cam!!!!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I have the hardest time remembering my password to get in here!

Anyway, I have been offline for a few days and going nuts! It is great to be back. Love our new cam!

hedgie said...

Don't remember if I posted or not that MM checked her storage unit and all was well! One that burned was across the street!

Tragic house fire in Baltimore overnight with 5 dead, including children. Prayers for all involved.

hedgie said...

Hi, Shar!!! Welcome back!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Has anyone seen an eagle?????

stronghunter said...

Things are coming together. Can go get glasses and be reimbursed. Willing to do that to get glasses today.

Also found facial plastic surgeon who is also ear, nose, throat person and is willing to take WC. Furthermore, I have known him for years. I can take care of this if they let me do what I want to do.

Some issues with sick leave, but that is minor compared to the other issues.

stronghunter said...

Because the hospital didn't give me a doctor's note, I was officially expected to return right back to work after leaving the emergency room. If I had, they would have sent me home. They would have also thought I had lost my mind. They had already put me in for 3 days of leave without even consulting me.

Goodness, what craziness abounds in this world.

But since I have missed more than 3 days, I have to present doctor's note. I think I can get that.

stronghunter said...

Hmm, checking records--three of Block 4 students are suspended today. Maybe better for sub?

hedgie said...

No sightings since Fri., Shar. Pic in yahoo album.

Oh, Shirley, glad things are coming together. Doc better just give you off the rest of the year! How stupid to expect someone back from the ER in your condition! Grrrrr.

paula eagleholic said...

Hey all, my thought on Lib and Belle's non appearances.....

there's a possibility that the river right near the nest is partially frozen, so they may not be hanging around the nest to eat.

hedgie said...

Andy, wonder if that monarch will find its way to Mexico at this late stage of the game??? :(

stronghunter said...

Actually, I think I will go back tomorrow and Thursday. I have appointments on Friday and Monday.

I need to go to Culpeper to pick up my cat scan disk.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Gang,
Dropping in to say good morning! Gosh, it's cold back East! Still not as cold as it was in Minden, NV for Thanksgiving, though. But certainly cold enough!!! Stay inside, and stay warm! The roads must be awful!

Praying for Dana, that she will get to her appointment OK and get home OK, and that all will go well.

Emma and I have been busy this morning. The gardeners come today, so had to water the patio plants. Also had to clean up Emma's "land mines" so gardeners wouldn't step on them! (Not a big deal). I say they're not a big deal--have had to clean up after daughter Jen's former pets--2 Saint Bernards! Now THOSE are LAND MINES!!!LOL :oD

My pet project today is to fix Emma's crate so she has more headroom. I have an assortment of cardboard boxes, so can partition off half of the crate so she has just enough room to stretch out. (Crate we bought is the size for a fully-grown Springer Spaniel.) Omigosh--Emma's asleep right now, and snoring! ZzzzzzzzZZznortZzzzzz...HmmmMmmmm...
Well, better get busy on that crate, while I have the opportunity! Will be back a bit later... :o]

BEagle said...

Hi people.
Came home early to check on my home.
It's okay, a little warmer than the inside of my fridge.

Haven't seen Belle or Lib. there are two adults present on the Two Harbors nest. They're nestorating.

BEagle said...

Makes my heart glad to see things happening for Shirley.

One of the cameras at Sutton is focused on two adults in a nearby tree.

magpie said...

Paula -
You just might have the right theory on that....
about the river being partly frozen...
we have not had weather this cold for this long, for several years as I can recall

Good Afternoon Eagle Pals !!

Sharon, this is Eagle Scarf-wearing weather !!

magpie said...

Shirley, yes, some overnight magic arrived at your roost...are you sure you were not out making wishes at meteors?

going to some nestorations of my own for awhile....panda nap time approaches

staff meeting and Christmas party today...I deferred due to being on a vacation day, AND, having this cold that I didn't really want to share with everyone this time of the year....

I believe it is not only the Maine nest, but quite often, the Norfolk Botanical Gardens eagle cam that sways and sways....

glad you are seeing some eagle action in other nests, BEagle

ttfn xo

hedgie said...

Margy.....what's up, girl??? Didn't you have to go to the meeting??? Or was it just a second shift thing?
I guess James is now with his mom and grandpa, huh??? When will you see them?

Mai likes ice cubes!!!! Hurray! Calorie-less treat!!!

magpie said...

I had the approved leave day before the meeting and party was scheduled Lynn... so I could make my choice
I probably would have gone but
not feeling so wonderful so I am keeping my germs to myself at least until Wednesday when I return to work....but everyone else has to be there

magpie said...

James should be visiting with his mother now....at his home, but I haven't talked to them yet, just one of the other grandmothers

magpie said...

BEagle, sure hope your roost warms up a bit...

I've lived in cold, very cold, houses before

magpie said...

well, rest period...time to knock down a few cold germs with an attack of rest and warmth
already had the Zi-Cam and chicken soup

ttfn xoxo

BEagle said...

Thanks Margy.

When I climbed the rocks in NM with my Biblical Research group, it was snowing and we got temps below freezing. It was in November. It's interesting what you get used to after two weeks of living in a tent and cooking outdoors.

We had no cozy house to go to so we just did it. I was in my 30's then and I refused to remove my wool long johns. (for two weeks!)

Two years later I went again but in December. We had excellent weather then. Strange isn't it?

hedgie said...

Oops, see I missed your last post, Margy. Sorry you will miss out on the festivities....but probably don't mind missing the meeting, do you?!! Know how staff meetings are----boring and rarely resolve concerns! Feel better!!

BEagle said...

Prayers for Margie, to get over cold misery quickly.

Just peeking in. Hair cut, more stocking stuffers bought and now dusting. Call from my SIL, they will be here Thurs instead of Friday. Told them that was great BUT we would not be here. LOL Joseph's program is Thursday. They will just have to let themselves in and make themselves comfortable.

Beautiful weather here...64 and feeling a little warm in my sweatshirt.

Back to work. Last minute cleaning and tomorrow I start thinking about cooking.

Lolly said...

Now have to plan for two more meals. Lovely! Really do not mind, very happy they are going to be here.

Margy, so sorry you are under the weather. This is not the time of year to be sick. Get well fast!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

This is from the Caring Bridge entry for Tom's cousin's 21-year-old son. This is not looking good for this young man! I am calling out all of you prayer warriors to send them up for this precious family!

Here is the link to read about their journey!

http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/brandoncook/journal

Brandon had an episode this morning where his heart rate jumped into the 170's, his respiration rate dropped to 5-6 per minute, and his oxygen saturation dropped into the 60's%. Fortunately, the nurse came in to check on him and realized what was going on and they were able to wake him up and over time were able to put him on an oxygen mask, cut back on meds, and get his resting heart rate down to 120's and oxygen up to the high 80's - 90's%.

They continue to be concerned about what is going on with his lungs and as of just a few minutes ago, moved him into ICU to prepare him for a bronchotomy (using a tube to get a sample of his lung in the affected area).

We will try to post updates as we can and of course, please know your prayers are the most important thing we can ask.

Eaglet Momsters/Dadsters prayer is something special! Love you all so much!

Mema Jo said...

That is such scary news about Brandon
Sure will pray extra hard for him..

hedgie said...

Gotcha, Margy! Keep warm!

BEagle, that must have been quite a trip! LOL---you never know about the weather any place anymore!! Always expect the unexpected and be prepared! That's why I always overpack when I go somewhere!!!

Mema Jo said...

I am concerned that when they trimmed the tree - whether or not they took down the limb where our Royal couple sat above the nest. .. hope not...

All dogs should love ice cubes - don't know one that doesn't!

Mema Jo said...

I can't believe what they can do with 'legos', Paula. That Santa looks as real as Michael standing there beside him!

glo said...

Oh MeMa Jo That would be so sad in so many ways indeed. That should be a fairly simple question to get the answer to so we would all know. They perch there together all hours of the day and night. It is their lookout and home above their home.

Mema Jo said...

It is darkening at the nest
That only proves that it is for real!

NatureNut said...

Gadzooks, what wind!!!Some snow left on road this AM & you couldn't tell if shiny spots were frozen or not! Part of the way I ended up behind a work van that was going 15-20MPH!!! Could cause an accident if you have to brake to avoid hitting him! Luckily, he turned off, but I was 10 minutes late. No problem & no birds at nest.
Saw 2 eagles soaring over the river & office 3 times! Don't know if they're from our nest or not.
Read a little & see Sissy & Sharon were here!! Good that Shirley is getting some things accomplished w/ WC. About time.
Hope Dana is doing OK.
Gotta get some java~~~ ☺

wvgal_dana said...

Good evening eagle friends.

I am finished with procedure..very little sleep last night. Went to sleep as soon as I got home today.
Will know results Monday.

I have this side of the thread to catch up on.

Paula like your avatar on the other side. Haven't look to see if it is on this side.

Lynne2 did go in and read about your trip to Soldier's Delight.

Do remember reading some prayer request. Have those in prayer.

Computer is acting crazy--top tools bars keep disappearing. May have to reboot.

Your going to have to forgive me for any spelling errors. That toolbar disappeared. :( Will reboot. bb

hedgie said...

Well, got SOME lights on tree-----last string is dead through the first half.....argh!!! Sure hope I can find a match! There's always a glitch! Have run out of nightlight bulbs, too.....don't know how bulbs that were bunring when put away die in storage!

hedgie said...

See that infrared glitch on cam is still not worked out.

hedgie said...

Sissy, adding Brandon to my prayers. So young... :(

Dana, glad everything went well. Bet you are hungry!!!

hedgie said...

So glad we have good shows to watch tonight, Jo!

Lolly, you are such a generous and tolerant hostess!!!! I wpuld be pulling my hair out if someone was coming early!!

hedgie said...

Loretta, good that you saw some eagles!! You're having better luck there than we are having here.

BEagle said...

Prayers going up for Branden Cook. ♥

That Lego Santa sure is cool. Maybe if I go get my son's Lego stash...........

How many Legos are in that Santa?

BEagle said...

Our cam is blacked out.

BEagle said...

I was very cold. Couldn't get warmed up so I went to put some fleecy slacks on, kicked off my shoes and saw my SOCKS WERE WET! I remedied that right away with some new bamboo socks.

BEagle said...

Ah-h-h-h. Warmth at last.

hedgie said...

Never heard of bamboo socks, BEagle. Glad you aren't a panda----you'd be eating your socks!!!
Is the furnace working??????

BEagle said...

There are yarns and threads made out of bamboo now.

These socks are very comfortable, lightweight and warm too. Of course, I thought of the pandas. I would not wear them around pandas.

ONLY I WOULD BE THE ONE TO INSTALL A FURNACE IN FREEZING TEMPERATURES. ONLY ME. The furnace is not ready. It needs the electric hooked up and a duct extension from the flue to the duct work. Then I am all set.

What's on TV tonight?

BEagle said...

The temperature here just went from 20 to 21. What a warm up!

I believe that the temperature is going to stay around 20 and not drop anymore.

Lolly said...

Well, while you all are freezing I got hot today. Presently 63 and tomorrow it is supposed to get to a75. Do not like that! Does not feel like Christmas.

BEagle said...

I know what you mean about feeling Christmas. I do hope we have a White Christmas.

It is a pleasant thought, though, to feel a little over warm, just a teensy bit.

Lolly said...

Nah...not even a teensy bit, Beagle. I want a fire in the fireplace. LOL Just want it to be COLD, do not need any precipitation.

stronghunter said...

Got home with my glasses. Actually, I got two pairs. I could not get all of the features I had on my other glasses immediately. I have to wait 10 days, but the sales lady suggested That I buy a pair without all of the fancy features for $149.00. I paid for the frames only. They threw in free lenses.

They'll be my back-up glasses. Oh, she also tried to talk me into buying nice sunglasses and other things, too. I could have spent a fortune. I paid for the back-up pair.

I want to say, "Thank you all for thinking of me and your prayers".
Andy those prayers were needed for Mom to drive down here and get me and get me in there. Of course also for the procedure.

Oh my sitting together watching a beautiful meteors flashing across the sky. Sounds so romantic...keep making those memories Lolly and Jack.

Still can't find my "spell check".

I do pray that Gene and his friend find the family in the tent. If not that they hear they have found a place inside where it is warm.

Shirley that is great that they are approving things. Yeah!!!
Again answers to prayers ( :

Margy I was awake but just couldn't go out and look.
Sounds like I would not have seen the meteors.

Suzan 11 degrees in North Carolina...burrrrr I don't think I would say you was too "wimkpy face" in that cold...good sense.

Wow Lynn Mai is starting to sleep in longer. Back to sleep and didn't wake until 6am. Good girl Mai (:

Wanda don't know if they already have someone but GIVE IT A GO LADY!!! Wanda The Momsters Cam person..
it does have a ring to it. lol

Glo I pray you have safe travels
you and Dex. That the warmer
weather is good for both of you.
Hope you check in here while
you are gone cause you will be
missed.

Ok Hedgie-Lynn so sorry about they
still have pleurisy. That has been
awhile now. Wisdom tooth surgery
on Thursday got it. Thank you.

Hi Sharon see you checked in. Write
that password down gal ( :

Happy Mary Margaret's storage unit
was not damaged.

I'm thankful for all of you!!

No Lynn-Hedgie not really hungry. Plenty tired but will make
myself eat something soft and drink some.

BEagle you still have work to do to get your furnace running. Oh lord I pray you stay warm.

Ok I have now found out. Margy does have a cold!!
Praying for you dear Margy. I pray that doesn't stop you from being able to visit with James.

Sissy so sorry to hear about Brandon...surely will
pray.

Mema Jo I hope Liberty and Belle have not decided that their home has been damaged. We all have gotten so attached to these two adult eagles. Come home dear
Liberty and Belle...please come back to the sycamore tree. The tree we've watched you bring eaglets into the world. That special nest you two beak, peck, love, and raise your babies. Please Oh Please come HOME!!!
dang I'm in tears....must be from the anesthesia still in my system.

TV does sound good tonight. I will be watching. That is if I don't fall
asleep in front of tv.

Have string of lights out on the tree, but that is the way it will have to be...it is all decorated!

BEagle said...

How do I miss the splits?

BEagle said...

stronghunter said...

Better than hitting the t when you mean to hit the r, Lolly. I have been known to do that.

BBL

BEagle said...

Oh, good. I'm back. I was a little lost there for a minute.

BEagle said...

I should know it splits at 400, but I ended up on a blank page and tried to go back and saw a post by Paula "watch out for the split" and I had an error report and I had a update flashing in my face.

paula eagleholic said...

Margy hope your cold gets better son!

Jo, The branch that Lib and Belle are on in Deb's picture is still there, if that's the one you are referring to.

Beagle, I have no clue how many legos it took to make Santa! Thousands I would think!

Shirley glad you got some new specs!

paula eagleholic said...

I see nothing has changed on the cam. I thought they were pre-testing it before they installed it....guess NOT.

BEAgle - splits are at 200, 400, etc

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, Shirley, I have done that t and r thingy, but have caught it before I posted, thankfully!

paula eagleholic said...

BEagle if you click on newest instead of newer, you get the blank page!

BEagle said...

Oh..
Hello Paula. Many times they will tell you how many Legos were used to build something. I thought maybe it was posted next to Santa or something.

BEagle said...

chuckle.

I just got the "t" and "r" thing figured out.

Paula, I did hit the wrong buttons I suppose. But I don't remember. All the flash batting my eyes.

I sure hope they get that night vision on the cam fixed. We might see some eagle action.

I enjoyed watching the TH adults. They must have messed around with a wad of seaweed for 45 minutes trying to figure out the best place to put it.

That was fun.

hedgie said...

BEagle, we are still on the "last" page!!!! Newest/Newer is for if you go back to older/oldest!

Lolly said...

Paula, did you have to stand in line to get into the toy store? We did, but it moved fast. It wasn't Santa they had built of Legos. Can't remember, need to look at pictures, but I am thinking it might have been Harry Potter.

Judie said...

Good evening, all.

Shirley, so glad the WC is coming through for you and that you have a surgeon and can get your glasses NOW. Very good news.

Glo, enjoy the time in GA with your son. Stay safe, please.

Hi Sissy. Serious prayers for Brandon's health and recovery.

Dana, glad you made it through the procedure today. I'm sure the news will be all good on Monday.

Hmmm. Seems Shirely, or Shi_ley is returning to her typical good humor. Welcome home!

Been working on grading papers most of today while I was able to sit at the computer. Managed my second shower -- got a bit better at strategies to use to make it easier. However, this confinement is really getting very, very old.

Ooooooo! Darth just arrived with chocolate ice cream ! Yippee!

Hi Margy, hope the cold goes quickly. Hate the misery of a cold.

Going to eat ice cream and put my foot up. BBL

Lolly said...

I am bathed and ready for bed and it is only 7:45 here. LOL I just felt like I needed a shower after blowing leaves.

Good evening all...whew, long day, Irvine from 8 to 2 and then home to let the dogs out and off to babysit. Just got home about 1/2 hour ago.

Many prayers for Brandon.

Hirley (just thought I'd chime in with my most common mistake on your name...LOL!) sure glad WC is starting to give you some results! Hope you are feeling better, too!

Dana, glad procedure went well, and prayers for good results on Monday!

Lynn, the California Monarchs don't migrate to Mexico...only the mid west and eastern ones do. The CA ones just go much further south in CA...a "mini" migration.

Margy, Gene...UGH. I've got the creep crud cold/cough thing and now loosing my voice as well. Some will think that is a GOOD thing!

My dogs love ice cubes, too! I make special ones for them now with low sodium beef or chicken broth for some added flavor!

Paula, good theory on the possible partly frozen river. It's probably low to start with, much more so than last year since the summer drought, and so much colder right now than usual for this time of year. You may have hit the nail on the head!

My goodness Lolly, I swear you are like the Energizer Bunny!

Beagle, bamboo socks....never heard of them! Are they warmer or do they last longer?

Judie, hope you are enjoying your ice cream!

Judie said...

Ice cream was really tasty. May try to obtain some egg nog as a sleep tonic. Well, I think that sounds like a good excuse to further indulge.

I may try to see if a nurse will look at one of the incisions tomorrow. Still have liquidy stuff which may be normal but it is making me really nervous. Seeps out from under the steristrips.

Speaking of sleep, I am going to have another early night. Still get very tired. So will be turning my light off but will leave the night light on for others. Pleasant dreams for all.

Shirley, what a difference a day makes. So glad things are beginning to be worked out for you.

Lynne2, sorry you are sick. Please feel better soon.

Lynn, are you and Mai ok? Toddlers are a handful aren't they? and you said something earlier that I eas going to comment on and now I can't remember. Sorry.

It is very cold here and I know colder there. Please bundle up.
Caltrans eagles have spent a lot of time at their nest. Looks like a new camera there too.

Have a good and warm evening. Lifting up those that need healing physically and emotionally.

Good Good Good! All 3 shows were very very Good!

Mema Jo said...

Yes, Paula that is the one I am referring to. Have you seen a pic of it since they trimmed the tree when putting up the cam...

hedgie said...

Judie, hope the grading is going well......insofar as your students proving their mettle. I'm sure it is a real chore. Yippee---another shower!!! Yes, please do get someone to look at the incision line----it should not be oozing anything!

Enjoyed the shows, and even got some more Christmas cards addressed.

Time to get Mai settled down and then go take my bath. Will say my goodnights, and just know that I have all in my thoughts and prayers! Stay warm!!

I am going to say good night as well. Just shared a link on fb. I have been sitting here dying laughing! Margy, sure wish you were on fb, it is a 911 call. They say it is true, but I am not positive about that. Anyway, I just had my good laugh of the day.

Night all! Sweet dreams!

Hi, Everyone,
I just got home from school about 45 minutes ago. Have been catching up on the blog, and also fed Emma her 4th meal of the day. She's snoozing right now, but will check on her in a few minutes to see if she needs to go out again.

Found out tonight that after next Tuesday I won't have any more classes before Christmas! Yay!!!

Boy, there are a lot of people needing prayers tonight! Prayers for Brandon, for a complete recovery.
Prayers for Dana, for good news on Monday. Prayers for Lynne2, Margy, and Gene, that their colds/laryngitis disappear pronto! Prayers for Judie, that a nurse or doctor can look at her incision tomorrow, and hope that all will be OK with it.

I have a prayer request, too~~my internet service provider is having problems again this evening! Thank GOD I am able to get to the blog, AND to the live cam (although it's a black screen now), but I don't have my Earthlink home page or Earthlink e-mail. After literally decades with Earthlink, I am seriously considering whether I need to move on to another ISP. Anyone have any recommendations? Please pray that I decide to do the right thing. HATE the idea of all that's involved with changing, but HAVE to have internet, especially for school work! A real dilemma here. Thanks in advance for your prayers.

Ms Bookworm said...

I need to go check on Emma.
Have said prayers for everyone. Judie, thanks for leaving the night light on. I'm checking to make sure the porch light and the Christmas lights are on. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are enabled. Sleep tight, everyone, and I'll talk to you in the morning. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]

Stopping in on my way to bed...tired tonight...long day.
Stopped in at church and got my spaghetti sauce on the stove to simmer while I took GG to get her hair-do did. Shopped for 45 min. while I waited on GG to get beautiful.
Got back to the church just in time to start the pasta and finished up just in time for our first guest at 4pm.
We had 17-20 guests (no one is sure of that count). Happy to say that our guests liked my spaghetti and many of them asked for seconds and thirds...I could see after about an hour that we might run out, so I started another pot of pasta...I had extra sauce (thank goodness). Sure enough, about 5 minutes before the pasta was done, we ran out of spaghetti. More folks came in during our last half hour of serving and we served every bit of it. I made enough sauce for 30 people.
We just were overwhelmed with our turnout, what with the 30mph winds and 25°temps. God bless those who had to sleep out in the cold tonight.
I talked to our pastor and his wife, this evening about starting a clothes closet for our guests along with the Food Bank, if we ever hear back from our Gassaway friends! Pastor wasn't as impressed as his wife, but that doesn't matter...that shall come to pass!

What a wonderful trip Christine and Samantha will have. Safe travels for them!

Judie, if you have a similar bandage as GG's when she injured her leg, the seepage is normal, but of course, I, too felt better after having the doctor check it out. It just looked so nasty that I thought that couldn't be the way it should be, but it was. I took so long to heal, maybe 5 months!

GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SWEET SLEEP
PRAYERS FOR OUR FRIENDS AND THEIR FAMILIES

I FORGOT...2 new pictures on Just for Fun: GG's new hair cut and some Soup Kitchen guests.

Wanda, GG looks beautiful. And what a wonderful turnout you had for dinner. Good luck on starting a clothes closet. So many people need extra clothes this time of year. You and your husband truly have unselfless hearts.

Good Morning Eagle Friends

May there be special things about this day that bring joy, comfort and peace. (An Eagle sighting at the Sycamore Palace would be a nice kind of thing...)

Prayers for Brandon, Sissy, hoping that today brings more relief with his illness, and strength for his family during this difficult time

prayers for a windless day, Jo, for Christine and Samantha on their jaunt to New York City !

and Shirley, if you are returning to work today as I think you mentioned you might...well, best wishes and prayers for that also

And to everyone else....hope the things you are working on and dealing with....have a good outcome

Good morning! Have to head to the doctors soon, for regular check in after blood work. I like going as I see a nurse practitioner and she is a friend. I will get a hug!

Have lots to do today so I will be busy.

Wanda, so glad you had a great night. Wow, it is building and I am not surprised you had so many. The weather will continue to bring them in.

54 and sunshine this morning and heading up 20 degrees. We need rain so badly. We are having to run our sprinkler system. Do not like that....want rain! Freeze still did not get all my plants. Have petunias in a planter on the front of the house. They are looking good.

Okay, need to do my do and get ready to face the world.

Have a great day!

hedgie said...

Good windy, cold morning. Again!!! Not fit for man nor beast out there.
LOL....heard a scanner call for Animal Control. A horse was in someone's yard eating their Christmas lights! Poor horse-----hope it didn't get electrocuted.

Wanda, glad that the meal was so well-received last night. Yummmm.
No, Judie's leg dressing wouldn't be like GG's. Hers is an incision line. There should not be any drainage.

Andy, don't know what to advise you about earthlink, etc. What are you using to get online now?? You must have two ISP's if earthlink is down and you are still online! Glad that you will be getting a school break for the holidays!

Hope Christine and Sam have a good time in the Big Apple!

Lolly, have a good outing----and then you get right back home and get back to work!!! No time for slacking!!

hedgie said...

Margy, are you feeling better??

hedgie said...

Like GG's haircut, Wanda!

BTW----Glo did NOT see any eagles yesterday. :(

Good Morning in Eagle Land this Wednesday morning.

I am here need to check out late night comments and this AM's.

Mema Jo said...

Good Wednesday Morning To Everyone - Cold but not too windy out there today

Wonderful times at the soup kitchen - So glad that the word is getting out about the good food and friendship you provide! GG's haircut perks her up!
She looks much younger than her years!

Not sure what I will get into today--
Some wrapping and my cards need to go out.

Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been named Time's "Person of the Year" for 2010. Quite a nice young man!

Lynne sorry you have that nasty cold.

BEagle I have never heard either of
bamboo socks. I do have to laugh at
"what would a panda do if you wore
them in the summer to DC National
Zoo"?
Praying you soon have a furnace that
produces warm heat for you.

Judie I knew that ice cream would
be the happy kicker (: Yes Judie
get nurse or doctor to check out
that leaky steristrip. Please !
Just to even ease your mind.

NCSusan thank you I'll have to
check out again the Caltrans
eagles nest. Humm new cam you
say.

Mema Jo I feel alseep during
NcIS Los Angles. Well that
will be another one that won't
be a re-run for me.

Lynn-Hedgie good you use your
time well..addressing Christmas
cards. I haven't even started.
Yesterday certainly wasn't the
day. This AM woozy so now I'm
having Rice Chex and my coffee.

Prayers Margie that you kick'
that cold germ lady. Nice for
Christine and daughter Samantha,
maybe they will find the right
cam. Are they suppose to find
the cam for you to see them?

Mema Jo tell Ed no kissing you
while he has that cold.

Shirley glad classes will soon
be over.

Andy what internet provider do
they have at your school? Will
put that in prayer. We don't
want you missing from the blog!

Wanda and Gene pretty nice 17-20
guests on such a cold day. I'm
sure they liked your spaghetti,
see and you was worried. They
went for 2nd and 3rds. Then
more it would be a very good
idea.
Now Wanda if Gene has a cold
he has to wait like Ed and Jo
for the kissing. (:

I don't know who it was that said the wind wasn't blowing - Hold on to your hats!

Lynn-Hedgie don't know how to track it. She just called and said they are at the Colorado Airport.

wvgal_dana said...

I wrote Steve here is what I wrote and here are the answers:

Me-Is the river frozen over? Is that why we have not seen
the eagles at the nest? If it is frozen over. Where will
the eagles go? Will they come back to the nest if it is so?

Steve answers-the river has ice on it, but not completely frozen over.

Eagles have a big range they can cover.

We have seen them off and on, we'll keep an eye out. As I've said in the past, eagles will sometimes build new nests after 7-8 years. Let's keep our fingers crossed that they have not moved somewhere else...

Steve

Mema Jo said...

Thanks for sharing that, Jim.

Sure hope we see our Royal Couple at/in the Sycamore nest!

hedgie said...

Well...glad they've have seen them........wish WE would. Surely pray they have not abandoned the nest. Thanks, Dana.
