Checking on the PH twin. Chat believes 06 injured herself trying to get back on the nest.

Her feathers were a little ruffled but she's flapping and moving around now. She doesn't look hurt to me.

BEagle said...

One of the PH twins is flapping away.

I can't tell what's going on there.
It must be raining pretty hard. Can't see the trees that are usually in the background.

Good Morning/Almost Afternoon to All!! I am embarrassed to said, I just got out of bed. I slept till 10:00. I readed a book until now.
Boy I must of needed the sleep. Allergies tires me out and pollen is bad right now. Shot my plans for today, but it is what it is.

Well, Palmer finally got food. Parents sure took their time. Palmer had to wait until 9:00. I just have to trust what parents are doing and get my human feeling intact.

Thank you for the new Hope video. I pray she stays safe and out of harms way. Again I have to keep my human feelings under control if I don't,I will be a basket case. You know, I was thinking last night (I do that sometimes) LOL
Hope must feel so alone and sad, but she doesn't know the difference. She thinks this is normal. The way is should be. When I look at it this way I feel a tad better.

Be right back. Need tea and food.

Mema Jo said...

WOW! Just got a Aloha from HAWAII post card from the Honeymooners!
They are having a blast and gd said she will need a vacation from her honeymoon.

stronghunter said...

Hi Deb, I am sure you earned the right to sleep until 10:00 this morning. You've had a busy week. I slept, or at least stayed in bed, until about 8:00. George had several comments to make while I was abed. He wanted to make sure I wasn't supposed to get up and go earn cat food money.

stronghunter said...

The TH eaglets look fine to me.

Mema Jo said...

Sometimes 'Cats think the darnest things' LOL

Mema Jo said...

Deb I mentioned last evening that you should put on a mask before you start to clean up that yellow dust!

Mema Jo said...

BBILW just wanted to mention the postcard........

BEagle said...

I forgot to check on the horby.
It looks like Phoenix is doing some nestorations.

But where did that big stick come from. It's right in front of the cam. I didn't see it last night.

And is that a clam shell in the nest?

stronghunter said...

Yes, Jo, George has a mind of his own. It always bothers him when I sleep in on weekends. He eventually adjusts in the summer.

BEagle said...

Phoenix has it's noggin right up in the cam and is actually looking into the cam with head tilted. : )

Cute. The clam shell is almost hidden now by her/his right wing.

hedgie said...

Myrtle is home!! Suspected I might see her today since there was a poo on the rug outside the basement dooor this morning!! And sure enough---she's in the dogs' yard. Just watched her devour a crunchy beetle bug and a curly bug! She's looking good. Yippee! Too bad I don't have a veggie goody for her.

Lolly said...

Great grandaughter to remember her Grand Mema while on her honeymoon.

Just came in from doing a little watering. Boys are outside playing with Uncle Michael's guns. Yes, we still have a few of Michael's toys and the boys love them. He played with guns, does not own guns now and is a great attorney. I do not believe playing with guns is bad. LOL

And speaking of guns....Paula, you said you would like to see a picture of our precious armadillo. Jack said to tell you a camera is not what we point at the armadillo. While watering, I have been filling in armadillo holes in the lawn and cursing.

BEagle said...

What is a veggie goody?

BEagle said...

Maybe there will be a fuzzy thing on the loon nest and

maybe Myrtle will get a veggie goody.

Ragdoll said...

Shirley, cats are funny. When I get ready for work, my Annabelle sits on the bathroom counter the whole time. When I'm go out the door she cries and sometime swats my leg (with no claws) as if to tell me off. When I come home she runs to me and laps my face like a dog.

So if I spend along time in bed or sitting, she and Noah both love it. They both snuggle on or beside me. I love it too!

Mema Jo, Thank you for the reminder on the mask. I have some and will putting them to use today.
We have been getting pollen for one and a half months now. My main allergy is mold spores and with pollen there is also a lot of mold spores. I went through 5 years of shots. It real helped but I still have to be careful.

BEagle said...

Well, Palmer has not moved for a very long time now.

The fish hasn't either.

TCB.......later.

hedgie said...

She sure is a hungry Myrtle...just ate a small snail, shell and all!

Ragdoll said...

Is that a fish on the nest with flies on it? Did they bring extra food for Palmer to make up for yesterdays fast.

hedgie said...

BEagle, she loves tomatoes and cantalouep (veggie/fruit goodies!)---and I don't have any.

Ragdoll said...

Hedgie, Who is Myrtle? Is she a visitor? She sure sounds hungry.

BEagle, I just checked Sidney's nest. It's so hard to see anything. I really enjoyed that nest last year. I miss it.

hedgie said...

OMG----went downstairs to see Myrtle in the kennel.....birds were making a racket like crazy....HAWK came swooping down and landed on a small tree--had the camera in my hands and gt two shots before it flew off.
Gotta eat, and then I'll download pics and see if they are any good!!!

hedgie said...

Shots look decent on the camera! Red-tail hawk, I'm sure.

hedgie said...

Deb, Myrtle is my box turtle who has shown up every year now for 5 yrs.!!

stronghunter said...

I'm confused. Is Phoenix at the Sidney nest? I see that they are calling that eaglet Solo, and I can hardly see anything there, so it must be another nest.

I remember hearing that turtles like strawberries. I believe it was my children who said they eat wild strawberries, Lynn. Any strawberries around? It sounds like Myrtle is doing okay, though.

Mits said...

Phoenix is at the Hornby nest

stronghunter said...

Sounds like it is raining on Palmer.

Someone asked earlier about the thing with flies on it in the nest. Yes, it is a fish. Palmer must not be too hungry. She did have some fish earlier today. That's the second fish I have seen brought in.

stronghunter said...

Ok, thanks Mits. I though it might be.

Ragdoll said...

Shirley, glad to hear your parents birds have come back to the birdhouse. Looks like the babies will survive. Yeah!!

Happy Birthday Thelma. Hope you day is full of Fun and Family.

Judie, sounds like you had a great time last night. You got your moneys worth. Good for you. My husband (BOB) and I volunteer at a local theater in the summer. We get to see plays all summer. Gotta love it.

Mema Jo, Sounds like your GD is having a wonderful Honeymoon. It's nice she sent you a card. You must be a wonderful Grandmother.

Deb, if you go onto my blog and go back Oct. '09, you can Myrtle in her tomato glory!

Ragdoll said...

Shirley, sorry for the confusion. My roots are showing. LOL I pop all over the place and then don't explain it well on here.

I really did enjoy Sidney last year. I think they had 2-3 eaglets. It was very clear and the bird sounds were beautiful.

stronghunter said...

Cannot get Hornby. I have tried IE, FF, and Google Chrome.

stronghunter said...

I watched Hornby last year, too.

paula eagleholic said...

Howdy, all!

Back from tball and the nursery....garden nursery that is...got a pink dogwood!

hedgie said...

Hi, Jim! We have lost some days, haven't we??? Is it sunny in CA??? Not here.

Ragdoll said...

I just got a message when I went to send my comment. Said I should report it with this code. Whats that all about?

Ragdoll said...

The message went through, but what does bX-gzid9f mean?

stronghunter said...

Good question, Deb. All I know is it's something the blogger cop says sometimes.

paula eagleholic said...

Palmer at noon looking out

stronghunter said...

Our nest is a tangled mess this morning.

stronghunter said...

I love dogwoods, Paula. I have a pink one in my front yard and a white one in the back.

Before the day gets away from me, hi everyone and happy birthday Thelma! Hope it's the beginning of a great year for you! God bless.

Now, have to catch up. BBL

paula eagleholic said...

Lolly, I am LOL at Jack's comment! My boys played with toy guns, too. So did I when I was a kid!

I slept in until 9:15 this morning! Felt good!

Solo is at the Sidney nest!

Ragdoll, that is blogger gobbledygook!

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, and I got a crepe myrtle last night, and a couple of leland cypress to replace some small ones that have been missing out of the row of them in the back yard.

hedgie said...

I think we are amping up to a storm soon....see how much darker it is at nest, too? And wind has picked up.
Going to PC to download pics.

paula eagleholic said...

Shirley, I kept trying to grow one at a particular spot in the front yard...they kept dying...so I bought a really nice one, probably 5-6 ft tall, have a spot for it in the back. Hope the back works out better.

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, and I see the poor ignored fish in the nest! Guess Palmer is full!

paula eagleholic said...

Love that we don't have to keep refreshing the cam!

hedgie said...

Logging on on PC to load pics to my Lair.

BEagle said...

If it's Thursday then I am truly late for work.

BEagle said...

It's easy to get lost in the blog. I found myself wandering around trying to get out of Thursday. LOL
:D :D :D

Ragdoll said...

Paula, thank you, kind of like Maines ubbergubbers and darvinhouppers. I feel better now. Thought I did something wrong. LOL

Well, hubby has been out doing electrical work all day, which he usually skips on Saturdays. I haven't done a darn thing. I best be going and get my butt in gear.

BBL. Have a nice afternoon. Love you all. ^..^

BEagle said...

I got a lot of veggies and fruit if Myrtle would like to visit!!!

Palmer is still where he was when I took off for the store.

She should be hungry by this time.
Shouldn't she? Has she moved at all?

Got to go check on loon nest.

paula eagleholic said...

Time to go out and play in the dirt!

BEagle said...

I wonder if the new cam features will last forever....hummmm.

paula eagleholic said...

Beagle, Palmer had a nice breakfast this morning!

BEagle said...

The loon has changed position. Has there been any fuzzies yet?

BEagle said...

Paula, whatever Palmer had for breakfast must have totally filled her up. It seems she would be hungry again by this time
unless breakfast was a late one.

BEagle said...

Now that was some wing action!

magpie said...

OH MY!!! A first for me. Weather Channel has a red warning for us. It's a tornado watch until 10:00 pm. I have lived in Maine all my life and have never had a tornado watch. This scares me!!!! Please pray it won't happen. Thank you.

Where would I go? In the basement? I never had to think of this before. I am such a wimp.

magpie said...

oh I see the second eaglet now at Duke Farms
it's behind the large branch

BEagle said...

I always got to the center of the house in TN. But I didn't have a basement.

There's also something about the windows, but I don't remember but I think you will be just fine RD.

Does anyone know about what windows to leave open?

BEagle said...

Well, don't worry about the windows.
You have a basement.

magpie said...

great pictures, Lynn, also I like your avatar

Ragdoll.... hope the warning gets canceled soon...hope the weather station will also post instructions on what to do

prayers that all be okay

BEagle said...

Oh, haven't checked the Duke nest today.

The Hampton eaglets have all fledged, right?

BEagle said...

I guess Palmer will keep her toes on that fish a while.

hedgie said...

WooHoo...I am at 6 1/2 hrs. of cam running steadily. Can you believe it? Sure hope it stays this way!

BEagle said...

The Sidney nest cam is not streaming right now. I hope they can correct the cam situation. It was fuchsia in color this morning.

Lolly said...

Bye! Heading to Denton.

BBL

Ragdoll said...

Thanks, BEagle and magpie. Hope it gets canceled. For now I have to get busy and get things done.

Have a nice afternoon! ^..^

hedgie said...

Don't leave ANY windows open----old myth! Go to basement, Ragdoll if you get the take cover alarm.
Stay away from windows. Try to get under heavy furniture or a mattress, or into a shower stall if you have one down there.
Know how frightening it can be when you aren't used to it.
Remember when I was a kid in the DC suburbs and we got a civil defense siren warning of one; we didn't have a basement; mom grabbed a dust mop and was cleaning under our beds and dad told her to stop worrying about dust!

hedgie said...

Margy, thanks for comments on pics! That was the same time that Carolyn took the picture...just when she was getting the girls off the bus!
Yeah, avatar doesn't show too well on here....but larger it is really cute.

hedgie said...

Margy, did you get called in this morning?

Mema Jo said...

I just looked at the hawk and Myrtle - Great pics. Tried to leave a comment but guess I didn't pick the right account to use cause Google didn't know me......... Anyway I loved the pics, Lynn.

Mema Jo said...

Lynn, It wasn't until I went in on your profile page that I realized that your avatar was a hedgehog with her babies.
It is really cute!

Mema Jo said...

Margy - all of your wild flower pics are awesome. Makes me feel like I am taking a walk in the country! Thanks for posting.

BBILW

hedgie said...

Thanks, Jo! Found that pic, along with a couple of others, on the other Hedgie's website.

Sun coming out! Guess that will guarantee some storm action of some kind later.

stronghunter said...

Happy birthday, Thelma.

I have been napping in my chair.

It looks like we could have some rain here.

stronghunter said...

Great pictures, Lynn. I love your hedgehog.

hedgie said...

Thanks, Shirley.

stronghunter said...

Quite windy at the nest.

Deb, hope the weather is okay for you now. I couldn't remember what part of Maine you are in, but did see there are some storms in parts of the state.

paula eagleholic said...

Break time here! 4 down, 1 to go. Of course, there was a humungous rock where I wanted to put the dogwood! Got it out, now have to find a spot for it.

Has Palmer moved from the noon spot???

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, Lynne, we used to have to practice those siren drills! Out into the hallway, with your head down between your knees facing the wall, and cover your head with your arms.

paula eagleholic said...

I see Palmer did do some flapping, breezy and lighter at the nest. Had a few sprinkles here, now brightening up again.

stronghunter said...

Just checked out your flower pics, Margy. Beautiful.

Playing around with my camera. I took some pictures of birds in my backyard. Will decide if they are worth posting.

paula eagleholic said...

Lynn, cool hawk pictures! Glad Myrtle is back!

paula eagleholic said...

Palmer was just hovering at the nesst edge! Parent coming near, I think!

hedgie said...

Egg turn at loon nest. Look intact.

stronghunter said...

Holding my breath! Palmer wingersizing and getting some height in the wind. Right at the edge. Must see parent. Having a squealing fit.

paula eagleholic said...

Palmer hopped onto the fish!

paula eagleholic said...

Wonder if the loon eggs are duds?

paula eagleholic said...

Crunch n munch lunchtime!

stronghunter said...

Posted a few pictures--one of Palmer and some of my backyard birds.

Getting some thunder here. May have to shut down.

stronghunter said...

So now Palmer is eating the fish. Good for Palmer! Learning to eat on your own is an important survival skill.

It is raining here.

stronghunter said...

Robin hiding from the rain under a tree in the yard next door.

Mema Jo said...

Popping in to say I am off to Mass

BBL

stronghunter said...

Bye for now, Jo.

Mema Jo said...

...Christine has put Izzy's b-day pics on FB.

Judie said...

Good late afternoon, everyone.

Um, meant to say this morning I was off to hunt for food for my nest -- grocery shopping done and laundry underway. Did not try to take Palmer's fish away from her.

Jo, so nice that gd cares to send a honeymoon greeting. What a loved Mema you are.

Ah yes, the old civil defense drill. We also used to have to hide underneath the desks.

Lynn, if you don't see Myrtle for a while, I think she may be visiting here. Could not believe my eyes last week when I looked out and saw a large turtle trudging through the grass. Must have come up from the creek.

Oh, Lynn, also been meaning to mention the Westminster School has greatly expanded -- new buildings, etc.

Having trouble getting the live feed again today. Thanks everyone for the play-by-play.

Going off to check laundry and contemplate today's food choices.

stronghunter said...

Hi, Judie!

stronghunter said...

Five o'clock. George feeding time! He is reminding me.

paula eagleholic said...

OMG what a whale!

WUSHI WUSHI WUSHI

stronghunter said...

Adult at nest with food. Palmer is hovering over it and squealing. Parent is feeding Palmer from old fish.

paula eagleholic said...

Palmer is standing on the whale, peeping and getting fed by adult from the other fish! What a sight! ROFL

paula eagleholic said...

Second adult just arrived! More squealing!

stronghunter said...

Both parents there.

hedgie said...

Palmer was mantling over a fish. Standing on it. Making plenty of noise...but Belle is feeding her...from another entree.

paula eagleholic said...

Think it's Belle, Lib almost fed him a piece!

paula eagleholic said...

Or her!

stronghunter said...

Okay, Palmer, chow down!

paula eagleholic said...

Lib is leaving it up to the ladies. Belle is devouring the fish that Lib was feeding Palmer.

Palmer has backed off the whale now.

hedgie said...

Now Lib in, too----chowing down on what Belle left...and Belle poofed.

paula eagleholic said...

Wow is it 5 already!

hedgie said...

Or vice versa with wichever adult is which---I can never tell!

stronghunter said...

Gotta feed George.

paula eagleholic said...

That fish has got to be a foot long!

hedgie said...

I am almost to 10 hrs. on the cam---constant stream is nice!!!

paula eagleholic said...

Cool shadow over the nest. Lib?

paula eagleholic said...

Humidity is bearable today with this nice breeze!

paula eagleholic said...

Guess they are both full! Quiet now.

paula eagleholic said...

Well, guess not. Palmer peeping and going to start on the whale?

paula eagleholic said...

All done planting and mulching, time to go water.

hedgie said...

Palmer seems to have calmed down now....she almost threw the fish away!!

hedgie said...

That's interesting about Westminster, Judie. Wonder how many students they have now?

stronghunter said...

Odd, but I do not remember ever having to hide under a desk or anything about civil defense drills at school.

stronghunter said...

Palmer has had plenty to eat today.

Lynne2 said...

Hi all, just popping in for a second....I had heartburn really badly on Thursday. By late Thurs afternoon I started to get pretty sick and by Thurs night I was...uh, well, busy at both ends. Aches really bad all over but no fever, terrible back pain. The "evacuations" have stopped but tummy still sick. Going to head bacfk and rest some more.

Hope all is well, haven't read back. See ya soon!

stronghunter said...

Lynne, glad you are doing better. What you described is no fun.

Well, I guess Palmer does not agree that she has had enough food.

hedgie said...

Shirley, where did you grow up? Wonder if maybe drills for "air raids" were more often done along the coastal statesbecause of proximity to the likely attackers? Of course, the DC area was figured as"the" target. But we had the tornado tests, too----and they were very rare back then.
Tronado was in the hall; bombing was under the desks. Will never forget!

hedgie said...

Oh, Lynne, so sorry. Christie had the same thing Th. night and yesterday. I was with her on Tues. Hope I didn't pass any germs through the puter! All joking aside, hope that you feel 100% fast!

stronghunter said...

I grew up in North Carolina. We did not have tornado drills, either.

However, my older children had them in Ohio, and they had tornadoes. They spend some time in the halls when there were really tornadoes around. No tornadoes hit the school, though, but they had one day when they stayed in tornado mode for a long time. Children were afraid and crying. I felt guilty because I did not know what was going on, or I would have gone to the school to pick them up or help keep things calm.

We have one tornado drill each year in the spring now.

stronghunter said...

I graduated from high school in 1960.

hedgie said...

Little to no nestovers! Raining here...think I hear it at nest, too, but hard to tell with the breeze.

paula eagleholic said...

I can hear some raindrops at the nest. Looks like that wushi has been pretty much consumed!

paula eagleholic said...

I see the rain is headed this way.

hedgie said...

Argh----web is already starting to show.

hedgie said...

Gee, Shirley.....with so much foreign ship action along the NC coast during WW II, you would have thought they would have been more diligent than many during the Cold War era. Sent you an email.

stronghunter said...

Yeah, Lynn, I see the web, too.

stronghunter said...

Can't get that link to work, Lynn.

stronghunter said...

Sent you an e-mail back, Lynn. I got to the museum site. Thank you.

hedgie said...

I tried again, Shirley. BTW---did I ever tell you that my dad and his family hailed from Winston-Salem and Wilkes Co.?

stronghunter said...

I think we might have discussed something about NC connections a long time ago. I lived near Charlotte, then near Greensboro. My parents lived in Winston-Salem for awhile, but I was in college at East Carolina and then teaching in Virginia by that time. I just claim the whole state.

Judie said...

Okay, Jo, you just better start sharing -- you've got all the cam time and I want some, too.

Well, at least I know Palmer has had some food and Boris is still alive and stringing his string.

I think for our civil defense drills it was because I grew up in Norfolk and, of course, the huge naval/submarine/air base is there.

Lynne, sorry you've been sick and Lynn, sorry Christie was sick. Hope you both are better now. Has Carolyn heard about the job? Did I miss a report on that?

Phoenix is camped out and quiet.

Wanda, how was GG today?

Oh, Paula, Leland Cypress is one of my favorites. Have several in our yard.

Glad Annie is so much better.

Just realized how funny an earlier comment was that someone (forget who) thought Myrtle was a starving house guest who was camping out in the dog kennel.

Going to put my feeties up, as Jo says. Maybe some t.v. BBL

hedgie said...

Right, Shirley, we did talk about that once before.

paula eagleholic said...

Lynne - hope you feel better soon! Not fun!

Mema Jo said...

Judie - I didn't do it..Hedgie/Lynn has clocked 10 hrs cam time. We need to talk to her! She's getting spoiled.

After Mass we went to eat out and at the check out the computer had a problem - similar to what we encounter at times - it must have frozen! I jokingly said 'Free Meal'. Hubby told her to just turn it off and start it back up! She did but still couldn't get it going - she smiled and said be on your way! No Charge. It was totally because of her embarrassment of not getting it to work. I told Hubby that I sure hoped she got it going because there were many many Trailways' buses in the parking lot!

stronghunter said...

BBL. Time for me to get something done. I have been sitting here almost all day. I only get to do this on weekends, though!

Need to vacuum. I found some crumbs in the crevices of the recliner. Do not want to attract ants.

hedgie said...

Shutting down cam after 12 hours! Wow! Web is becoming too intrusive to my peace of mind.

Mema Jo said...

But for Carolyn, she has the temp organization ready to place her and you'll find that when you get your foot in the business' door - and they like what they see in your performance that you can be hired on when the temp contract ends or even sooner if the new business pays the fee.
So remember that Lynn and IF 911 doesn't come through take her right down to them!

hedgie said...

Jo, were you at Cracker Barrell??

paula eagleholic said...

have a couple of thunder rumbles here...

Whew, took a shower, finally feel human again! Nice gentle rain at the moment.

Mema Jo said...

hedgie said...

OK, Jo...was thinking of how many times I've seen buses at C.B.!!

stronghunter said...

Hello again,

I see that the web is becoming more and more visible and Palmer less visible as the evening progresses.

stronghunter said...

Read the June 4 Lily and Hope update. Interesting and somewhat encouraging.

Mema Jo said...

Lynn - not sure where this bus was headed to or coming from. Adults were the passengers.

Just checked out TV for the evening
I better get into a good book......

Want to check the loon cam.. Just maybe

Mema Jo said...

Thanks for mentioning that June 4 update - I hadn't seen it and sounds promising.

stronghunter said...

Love the picture of Hope in the tree, Jo.

Judie said...

Right, Lynn. I remember now. I'll keep the job prayers headed her way.

Hmmm. Well Jo, if Lynn is responsible, she may be spoiled but she better stop looking because stupid Boris has covered up the view. Don't look, Lynn.

Jo, nice ending to the dinner out. Hope you enjoyed.

Tired tonight. Going to turn my light off but will leave the night light on for others coming in. Hope Andy will set the alarm.

Pleasant dreams, everyone.

stronghunter said...

Good night, Judie.

stronghunter said...

Good evening eagle buds! Here is the latest update about Kailey!!

Mandi called sayin that lil Kailey is having a great day! Said she almost didn't recognize her if not for the blanket Mike & Caitie bought her; the swelling has went down, and she's alert, kickin and stretching and looking around everywhere. Nurse's are havin a fit cuz they can't get her to keep that lil tongue off the tube going down her throat and they have to keep repositioning it, lol.

Shirley - I don't really think they are planning on a collar for Hope.
Let me know if you see it in print...

A Frosty sounds good at the moment.

stronghunter said...

Good news, Sissy.

I thought I read somewhere that they were going to put a tiny collar on her, but maybe I'm mistaken. I can see why it would be a problem.

stronghunter said...

I played some of the bear sounds at that site. George thought they were somewhat interesting.

hedgie said...

Jo, on Weds., in the Update titled Hope Is Alive, Dr. Lynn had this at the end of Option #4: If we eventually can catch her, we’ll fit her with a tiny radio-collar to learn more about her life.

So, we shall see. I just worry about the possibility of the transmitter dying and the cub being choked to death as she grows since she can't be tracked/found to replace it.

Has been raining steadily here now for hours. The good kind. But now satellite is acting up, so there must be something bigger/stronger coming.....unless the weight of water on the leaves is causing limbs to bend low and dense.

About ready to go upstairs. Tomorrow, I will need to read the returned research papers--the ones I rejected the first time. I will not have time to do that with the juniors, but we will have another shot at them next year.
