Got my hope up for a moment Mema Jo. Thought for sure when I hear parent that food would follow. I don't remember parents doing this to Hidey last year. I fell sad for Palmer.
They didn't do it to Hidey. Seems they fed her up until her First Flight. If there isn't breakfast tomorrow am hours it will be okay with me if she takes off and goes to the river all by herself!
We did find the birdhouse, but now we are afraid it will be taken again, and who knows if the parents will come back. There was definite chirps coming from the birdhouse. Baby birds are in there.

Oh, Jo....well he was flown by military plane to the Peruvian border where he was turned over to Peru police. He is in custody in a country now who uses a 3 judge system, and where all it takes for a conviction is preponderance of evidence. They also found the murder weapon---a baseball bat---I'm not sure if in hotel room or not.
The latest update from my friend Dawn is full of hope!!
Here is what she posted:
Hope must be contagious. Surgeon said he hadn't expected her to make it through the surgery, but she is fighting with every thing in her. She's digesting nutrients & her bowels are working. so Doc says as long as she's not giving up, he isn't either. Lil Kailey doesn't even realize how many people she's inspiring with her determination to live. I may not be able to hold her, but I'm comforted knowing that God is. ♥
I am heading to bed! Hope all of you wonderful people have a good night. We are heading to the lake in the morning. Andrew and Kelsey are here and we are so glad to have them!
Cool, Jo---will mess with that and see how it works tomorrow after Boris has disappeared!
Bugs have protein like any meat does, BEagle.....of course, it would take a lot of them to equal significant amts. as opposed to human-ingested protein! Toads also love raw hamburger if rthere are no worms/bugs available.
Sissy God puts these little lives here for good reasons! Kailey is making believers out of people she doesn't even know! Bless you for getting in here to tell us that information and God Bless her Doctor and his faith!
I hope they come back, too, Paula. I would like to have words with whoever moved it. I have no idea how long it has been since the parents have fed the babies. I really do not want to disturb the nest. The babies (or baby) is hidden in the straw / grass.
Death penalty in Peru is only for treason and one other crime, which I don't remember, Jo. This is not considered a death penalty case---35 yrs. prison.
Well I'm heading up to shower and then hop in bed. Real tired. I have allergies and we have yellow pollen all over everything. You should see my car. The screened in porch is all yellow inside. I have my work cut out for me tomorrow.
Poor Palmer, going to bed on an empty stomach. Hope something good is on the breakfast menu.
Thank the Lord for all good things happening like Hope, Little Annie Lil Kailey, her surgeon and any I have missed.
Prayers to God for all needs. Good Night Everyone. Happy dreams. (((HUGS)))
Thanks, Jo, didn't know that about the custom sizing...I learned something new. Too bad it doesn't make the live feed bigger, but I am happy with the larger pic they have provided now.
I'm especially thankful for OutDoor giving us unlimited time to have the cam open. I was on the 7+ hr marker and never had to answer to whether I was still watching
Very drowsy here, too, Jo. Calling it a day. See you all in the morning. Sure hope Palmer gets breakfast........sure hope that Belle and Lib are okay! Continued prayers for little Hailey, lil Hope, Annie, anyone in need of healing, strength or care, and all creatures great and small. Goodnight.
Boys have been in bed for a while. Have my feet up! Wow, I am tired!
Annie is really doing great. We gave her her night time meds. Not looking forward to soaking her paw for 5 minutes tomorrow. We are not letting her out in order to keep her paw clean. She is sitting at the back door and telling us over and over she wants to go out. This is normal Annie behavior.
Wow! Annie cleaned up her food dish. Yea! She is eating better! I just wasn't ready to face old age problems, or serious health problems. We can deal with this paw!
What a relief! Am SO very happy that little Hope is doing so well. Glad as can be about Annie, too--she's certainly improving! Really happy for you, Lolly!
Praising God for the good report on little Kailey, too--and prayers for her are continuing!
Certainly hope that breakfast is in the picture for our Palmer! She must be famished by now!
Bet that Judie's evening was super--anxious to hear her report on the show.
Shirley, Wanda, Paula, and Mema Jo,sleep well!
I'm going to go and watch some TV and unwind. Leaving the night light on for Judie and others, and the porch light will see you coming. The eye scanner security is enabled. Prayers said for everyone, with thanks given for prayers answered, and for all our blessings. Sleep tight, everyone, and I will talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o] Oh--here's a picture I took at South Lake Tahoe. G'night!
Wish we could have a good rain. After all that rain we had this winter and early spring, we had the driest May on record. Annie, has jumped up on the arm of my chair, sitting on my right arm...telling me she is feeling great!☺☺☺☺☺☺
Heading to bed. Nite all! Not staying up for the video of Hope. Will see it in the morning.
Who the heck would steal a bird feeder? Well, maybe that is one mystery Shirley will solve for us. Do seriously hope the parents will return to the little ones. Maybe some extra seed to entice them?
Lolly, so relieved to know that Annie's problem has been diagnosed and treatment has begun. Wishing her a very speedy recovery.
More good news about Hope. Prayers she will continue to eat and thrive.
I wish EVERY history teacher were required to see Thurgood performed by Lawrence Fishburne. This was the best 90 minute history lesson I have ever seen and heard, filled with insight and humor. Just an amazing performance.
Well, late getting here but have to leave. Getting sleepy. Thank you Andy for leaving the night light on so I wouldn't stumble coming in. I'll close the door quietly now as I leave.
maybe you need an outdoor motion activated cam, Shirley to monitor any birdhouse stealing actions...that situation is one BIG WOOF! Hope the baby bird/s will be okay
Good Saturday Morning Everyone!! Am I on the right page??? Palmer was munching something for breakfast & had some small sticks in the way, so did some housekeeping! Smart, BIG bird! Now squealing--maybe parent nearby...
Lily the Black Bear June 5, 2010 (7:12 AM CDT) Video of yesterday's Hope sighting posted on http://www.bear.org/website/lily-a-hope/den-cam-video-clips.html. -- SM
T-Bird, blesses would be a verb--as in "The priest blesses the animals once a year."---right, Shirley? Just saw something yesterday (guess on FB!) about your Mom being a teacher! Bless her heart!
I would think that if there were competition from siblings in the nest, there would not be so much of an issue about getting fed. You eat what is there or it is eaten by the siblings.
I have seen birds going in and out of the bird house several times this morning, Lynn. I think they were fussing at us yesterday when we were moving the birdhouse.
Lolly, when you come on this morning, let us know how your kitty is.
Palmer is doing just fine. Parents had to let her get good and hungry and then leave her alone with food so she learns what she needs to know. We have good eagle parents here.
Last night was the 28 day mark for the second egg and the 30 day mark for the first egg. Oh, to be able to know what was going on inside those shells! If there is a chick inside the egg that ended up in the lake, was there any damage by it being in the water? I can't believe that there was because it was such a short time and the water temperature is relatively mild now and the egg was in the water for only a few minutes.
But only time will tell for sure.
We are still within the normally accepted incubation period and can still hope for a hatch of two healthy loon chicks. But if we do not see a hatch in the next few days, then concern begins to mount as to whether or not the eggs will hatch.
Interesting drama at our nest. Palmer wants more fish, but parent is eating it. I haven't watched much of the action in eagle nests where there are multiple eaglets, but it think it's easier to fight your siblings for food than to fight your parent, but fighting for food is a survival skill Palmer needs to have.
I am glad the parents came back, too, Paula. I don't know if they had found the birdhouse where the kids left it, but the location was out of our yard and in a spot where we could not see what was happening. Also, the birdhouse was pretty low with a missing pole section.
Our yard is in a spot where there are fences on both sides, so kids pick ours as a cut-through. I have been worried about what they might do when we are not around. The house-snatching isn't sufficient reason to put up a fence, but I wish I could afford one.
Good Morning! I saw Belle in the nest with Palmer when I signed in.. but I had to read comments to be sure she had eaten since last evening I was fretting about her empty belly.
Judie - So very glad your evening's entertainment was so enjoyable. Lolly - Happy for Annie's recovery
Shirley - Relieved that momma & poppa birds returned to their relocated house.
Mits - enjoy those Thunderbirds!
Paula - sounds like you may have a day off from work?
Lynn - Suppose to be really 'mucky' today - don't overdo anything outside!
Good morning! It is a great day! Annie is doing just great, thank you! She gets mad at us when we give her her meds. We just did the first soak of her paw....for 5 minutes! She did not like that but accepted that her two parents were holding her down. She talked and told us a thing or two the whole time. lol She is presently pouting, but she is back to herself. She is walking on her paw, fussing to go out, then fussing to come in...she is senile, does not know what she wants. lol Eating good!
Going to Denton this afternoon to return the boys. Having to plan around the races at TX Motor Speedway. Dern!!! Hope to go up during the afternoon race and come home during the evening race.
See a problem about next weekend. I was going to monitor the cam while you are at the nest. However, Laurel is having a yard sale (garage sale) and I told her I would help her. Giving her stuff to sell and letting her keep the profits. So, I will just have to play it by ear. Friday will probably be the big day...maybe I will be here on Sat.
Jo, the Italy trip---is it for pleasure? Which daughter is this? Lucky family! Know the bride and groom will be glad to get home and settled into housekeeping!!!
Judie, glad that you enjoyed Thurgood. Bet Fishburne was really good.
Glad you enjoyed last night's performance, Judie. I need to get back up there to see a production. I did buy a membership, but this has been such a busy year, and not too easy. I am truly looking forward to the summer.
I did not sign up to teach--or take--any summer school classes. I hope I do not have to worry about taking more classes unless I just want to for my own enjoyment. I got my transcript, finally, so I should be qualified for five more years. At that point, I really think I should call it quits. I will be 73.
I have thought I could do some adjunct college teaching if I want to. I really do not want to work as a substitute in the public schools.

Mema Jo. How do you know it's 6?
It was probably kids that stole the bird house. They don't seem to understand that pranks hurt people.

Can you feed the baby birds insects or something?
Aha! Interpol or whoever confiscated puters, flashdrive and cell phones from two homes in the Netherlands in relation to van der Sloot!!!
Cannot even see the baby birds. They are deep in the nest. But we can hear them.
Oh good. Palmer is moving around.
Shirley - it was a dirty rotten thing for someone to do - I pray the mother bird will still take care of them.
It could have been a thousand times worse if they had dumped the little ones out of the birdhouse and left them to die.
Shirley - if momma bird doesn't return
send Will out with the shovel to dig for some worms!
Will thought they might have wanted to play with the bottom section of the pole. It is metal and flattened on one end so it will go into the ground.
My what big feet has Phoenix.
Maybe the adults will slowly come back before the babies get too hungry.
Beagle, baby birds will eat insects and if non are availible you can use hamburg. (cooked or raw)
I put the birdhouse far back in the yard so it would be near the trees and not too hear the house. Next summer, it will be closer to the house.
Shirley - doesn't sound like a play toy
Sounds more like a weapon! Perhaps they
dropped in the field/yard.
Mine is def bigger...can really tell on the laptop.
I see Shirley found the birdhouse...hope there weren't any babies in it.
Going to catch up on the earlier posts.
The PH twins look hale and hearty. I like their blue bands.
We were not sure what to do about placing the birdhouse. Decided to put it closer to our house to discourage anyone from messing with it.
Hedgie - glad you heard something
I hadn't heard anything all day on the case.
Outdoor must have figured..if they're getting too many problem calls..they better improve.
Yes, there are babies, Paula.
The Sidney chick has grown so big. It's hard to see her with all the salt spray on the lens.
She was dragging some big morsel of fish around just now.
Check out new pic on my Lair---Carolyn took it with her phone, I guess, which is why it's so small.
Feed baby birds hamburger?
I guess it's the protein. Do bugs have a lot of protein?

♫♪♫♪HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BUDDY'S MOMMY!♫♪♫♪
Parents finally brought this baby some food----and he is screechimng! She wants to be fed, I guess, or else doesn't like what they brought!
Good morning. Raining here.
Good morning,
Big fish, screaming Palmer. Parent is not feeding her. Palmer seems to be trying to eat for herself.
Mother won---no feeding. Palmer is trying on her own...but still squealing.
Plenty of activity at my birdhouse this morning. We only moved it about 15 feet.
I do think Hidey was more advanced in the self-feeding category at this point last year. Palmer obviously wants to be fed.
T-Bird, blesses would be a verb--as in "The priest blesses the animals once a year."---right, Shirley? Just saw something yesterday (guess on FB!) about your Mom being a teacher! Bless her heart!

Lolly, when you come on this morning, let us know how your kitty is.
Palmer is doing just fine. Parents had to let her get good and hungry and then leave her alone with food so she learns what she needs to know. We have good eagle parents here.
Interesting spreadsheet, Lynn.
Adult in the nest, Palmer has the food, peeping away!
an excerpt from Larry's Loon blog...

Parent back. I wonder if the parents are trying to get Palmer to fight for the food and mantle over it. Hidey would have done that.
Lynn, go to view, then explorer bars, then make sure you click on status bar. That will give you the zoom feature we were talking about.
That is, make sure status bar is checked.
Adult eating the rest.
Looks like the parent is trying to get Palmer to try to take the food back. Hidey would have fought for it. Don't you all think so?
Shirley, glad the birds are back at the birdhouse.
Happy Birthday Thelma!!!
The PH and TH chicks really fight over the food and self feed more than Palmer! Well, at least they started it earlier....competition!
That is Belle in the nest with Palmer
Well, Palmer walked away from it, so I guess she was full!
I read here yesterday that Palmer hovered out of range! I would love to see that! Fledging won't be long now!
Paula, I'm lost. Don't know where ypu mean...I don't have a view thing....
Maybe she is full, Paula.
I wondered if it were Bell. I still cannot tell the parents apart unless they are together.
Lynn, go to the top of your page...it says File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tool and Help, at least mine does and I have IE 8
Mine doesn't show any of that, Mits. And there's no Status bar option on Tools..
Whole family in nest. Much squealing.
Lib just arrived with a fish! Belle is taking control, Palmer peeping!!
So Lib brings in more food and Belle takes it, and Palmer is still fussing.
Lynn, it's under view.
Plenty of food in the nest today.
Up goes Lib into the tree.
Maybe the parents were demonstrating how to take a fish away from another eagle!
Okay, found status bar on toolbar options, but it is checked on!
Is Belle waiting for Palmer to grab the fish?
Lynn, I think you have to right click at the top and click on 'menu bar' for it to show up.
I don't know why they don't have that as the default when you load ie
Paula, I don't have VIEW!
Click somewhere in the light blue area where the search bar and other buttons are, Lynn.
Okay, Paula, thanks---that worked....now I have it!!!
All that does is enlarge the whole outdoor page---it doesn't change the size of the cam screen at all!!
Crunch, crunch....down to the bones.
right, Hedgie! That's what we were talking about last night, but it will enlarge the text!
Heading out, BBL
chicks alone at BWO
parent just came back
both O's at BWO
Yeah....I thought you all were seeing a larger cam!!!!! Duh.
Belle left. Some fish still there.
Palmer wingersizing. Must have had her fill of fish.
Palmer could easily go over the side with all of that hovering.
Only caught one, Mits. I THINK I saw a little chick head....not sure. Still blurry to me.
Fin Ferry still stuck on 6/3.
Happy Birthday T-Bird. Hope your day is special and you have some fun
Shirley, glad the birds have returned. Let's hope yesterday's miscreants don't return.
Going out to hunt for food for our nest. BBL
Judie, there is a fish in our nest at the moment.
BTW - Daughter and family should have touched down in Italy by now.
GD and new hubby will be headed home from HI tomorrow.
I'm in the valley! Permanently...
To where did that automatic thread refresher disappear.
Lolly, glad that Annie is doing better. Well, kiddo, if you do work the yard sale on Sat., take your laptop!!!
Link to newest video of Hope
Hi Lolly!
George meows a "hello" to Annie. He is glad to know she is feeling better. He would not like to be held down, with a paw in a dish of water either!
Hello all.
I think there a nice fish in the nest and ignored by Palmer.
I just checked the TH nest and it appears one chick is missing.
It's hard to tell from the chat what happened. The chick either went out of sight at the far left.
Oops didn't finish.........
Or it fell below. Don't want to think about that.
Thanks for the link to the Hope video, Lynn.
Almost to the 600 mark!
I think it was the bigger TH that is out of sight and the younger seems to be crying out.
That was a nice video of Hope. Bless it's little bear heart. She should do okay with people watching out for her.
I sure hope the TH eaglet is simply out of sight. But according to the chat it has been 2 hours.
Oh WOW. The chick just arrived! It must have been hanging out at the rocks to the left. Whew.
These eaglets have a way of making your heart throb.
Second eaglet has reappeared at TH.
