they are still continuing the pregnancy watch for now....until Lisa Stevens calls it off, because Mei is still exhibiting signs of a pregnancy....urine and ultra-sound results should be coming soon
Good Beautiful Sunny Morning Everyone.. Well No baby.. I wish they let us know something also you think with all those ultra sounds and urine test they know something.. I know the panda tubes are strange but Mits get in there and do it ..lol Long 13 hour work day today but looking forward to having Jazzy this weekend... Have a great day off to check cams and mail...
Good Morning everyone. Watching Mei and she is making me very restless! Didn't catch any of the sky show this early morning. I think I was just not able to view enough of the sky for all these trees.Daughter and grandkids saw them! And our Margie and Megan got a lot of wishes made!
Need to run a few errands - I best get started. BBL
August 11 Mei Xiang’s behavior is similar to what was reported yesterday. She is spending most of her time sleeping in the den and cradling her toys. Since yesterday afternoon, she has spent nearly four hours cradling objects. Mei now has a second smaller ball to cradle. She still tries to cradle the Kong toy and a ball at the same time. Other behaviors we observed were: paw-licking for ten minutes, nest-building for two minutes, and ano-genital licking for 12 minutes. In the early evening, she had three episodes of ano-genital licking totaling 14 minutes. Mei Xiang is now asleep.
Earlier in the day, Mei had a good appetite and participated in an ultrasound procedure. She also was up at the window in the den door, asking for food. She came out of the den to eat bamboo at 2 p.m.
YES BOB, the cake donuts with chocolate are my favs.....have a hard time riding past the Dunkin Donuts in Cambridge, Maryland. Always tell myself I need the caffeine and chocolate to go the rest of the way to the beach
I use to live 1 block from a bakery that made glazed donuts. We use to walk there and get a doz. of them while they were so hot they melted in your mouth. They also made fresh bread and we ate that with applebutter while it was still hot. OH, WHAT MEMORIES.
Theres NO DONUTS like Krumpes donuts been eating them since i was achild.. Use to spend my milk money for a donut 5 cents walking to school in the early 50s.. Theya re still in business over 60 years and counting in Hagerstown in the back alley off Maryland Avenue... Open from 7pm til 3am you can watch them make the donuts and very small place stand in line for order because people go from all over Tri Stand region.. Lord my hips are expanding now..lolll
We always had afamily tradition of getting together and making donuts in Febuary on Donut day... made them the old fashion way out of mashed potatoes like the Germans did... Dozens n dozens of them .. We would make an assembly line each had something to do.. Shakin them in a paper bag of powered sugar i did most of the time .. cause i had to take them out and place in a big enamal roaster and i could eat them too..

I just thought in some circumstances, that Panda females might have their own agenda,, and we know how unpredicatable they are, they never do what you think ,, and Mei is a past master at keeping everyone in the dark,,,
it was just A theory I had and wonder if it would also apply to a Panda..
I have these odd thoughts you know,,, don't know why,, they just pop into my head,, and then I have to ask someone about them,,
I'vr gone though every site and Panda pages I can to find out this new idea of mine,, but can't find a thing anywhere,
I've even thought of Telephoneing Lisa in Washington,, but I don't think Frank would like that,,,,
Sorry everyone,,,, got to run,, the biggest of storms has started here,, and I'll have to go and unlock the sandbag hopper just in case,, being so close the a tidal river is a pain at times,,
When I had appendicitis last year they found excess small intestines. the say its the reason for weight gain. We will see what they say today. back later. Hugs.
think this is an unknown when it comes to pandas..
Other animals, such as chickens and kangaroos, can delay themselves.. roos can wait up to a year
CHRISSY, THE ANSWER IS, NO ONE KNOWS FOR SURE It is not just Mei but the whole species in general, that there are so many complicated facts about the GIANT PANDA.....ANSWER FROM MY CONTACT.
Jo if i knew exactly where your house was i would go down to Krumpes and get you some and set them on your front porch tonight... Oh they are zoomin in you watching Mits??
DONUTS!! i also love donuts ... trying to stay away from the many donut shops we have though.
I used to go to one shop very early in the morning and get still warm, fresh cinnamon rolls and fresh coffee!! Like Heaven.
I'm also avoiding them now.
Does anyone have experience with home made donuts?? They are in a league of goodness all by themselves.
Mom used to get a pot of oil for deep frying going every once in a great while, and donuts were one of the prime items cooked in it.
They were so good and nut-like that they seldom cooled all the way, never mind getting iced or glazed. Occasionally they would get a light dusting of powdered sugar.
One of the other items, now that I think of it, were corn fritters, which are also super good with nothing on them. But, if you dipped them in sugar or jam or syrup, you would have the treat of a lifetime.
King's syrup on my corn fritters! Sad thing is that I never got grandma's recipe. She and her sister did donuts. That kitchen (whole house really) smelled soooooo good! They also did Molasses dumplings!
King is the only syrup i will use.. if i know im going out say to Cracker Barrel and have Breakfast Pancakes i take some along too... Corn Fritters so ood n crunchy.. love fried green tomatoes too... As a kid our dinner tale always had a large tin with Lion on it of King Syrup.. make a butter piece and syrup .. Im hungry now....
My grandmother always made me a big bowl of Tapioca Pudding.. Put egg white it it nice n fluffy.. i made it for my kids and now i make it for Jazzy too.. She Loves Puddin!!! Candied Sweet Potatoes .. Ohh myyy
and boys and girls the question for today is.....where was KING SYRUP developed.........THAT'S RIGHT BALTIMORE, MARYLAND IN 1901, the plant was not far from where I grew up, I never knew there was any other kind of syrup til I got older and started to use maple syrup, but King has a special place in my heart, and stomach..tee-hee;)
Developed in Baltimore in 1901, King Syrup reigns supreme and has been a category leader in the Mid-Atlantic region for years. King Syrup is a special blend of corn and sugar syrups that are cooked to a temperature that requires glass bottling. This process eliminates extreme sweetness and gives smoother results, yielding a uniquely flavored golden syrup. No wonder it has be called “America’s finest table syrup
When i lived in Jacksonville Florida the grocery stores didnt carry it so when i came back here i always brough bottles back with me.. Till i found this store in Jax that sold food from all over the world and meats cant remember the name i found it and bought all they had... Oh Harris an Teeter great store
I don't believe I've ever seen Kings Syrup out West here.
I think we used to use Log Cabin most of the time, and I still like it now.
Remember "Mapleine," might still be around??
When we ran out of syrup ... until Saturday, which was shopping day ... we would heat up some hot water-sugar concoction in a pan and add a certain number of drops of Mapleine flavor. The stuff tasted good, but it was much thinner and required more per plate of pancakes or waffles.
Mits the store in Jax had meats from all over the world and cheeses alot of what some would consider weird food.. But a very interesting store try and go to it sometimes..
OMG this strawberry cake is to die for my friend just opened a deli near me and everything is homemade and cakes from scratch.. She wants me to come down one day and make something like homemade chicken pot pie with tators for her lunch special... Bac to cake so moist!!! yum yummm
I was just checking some little used links to see what was working now and what was not.
Alcoa in AU is not open for nesting this season yet.
The Alaska Grizzly site has moved to another park, new camera system, etc., and they are expecting to be back in early September.
I tried Pete's Pond again, but every time I try it lately my FireFox has to shut down, and it happened again. They might just be off-line and didn't code it right.
August 12 Mei Xiang is still spending her time in den three, sleeping and cuddling her toys. After the 14 minutes of ano-genital licking yesterday evening, there were only two more observations last night, lasting for four minutes and 30 seconds, respectively.
Mei was more alert this morning. She was up at the window in the den door watching the keepers get set up for an ultrasound. She came out of the den and went into exhibit two to eat bamboo earlier than usual. Lately, this has only happened in the afternoon.
This is the time of year when none of the pandas eat bamboo very well. We rotate different kinds of bamboo, hoping to pique their interest. During the hot-weather months, they seem to like yellow groove the least, with a slightly greater preference for bisetti. They will usually eat arrow bamboo the best. The lazy days of summer are here!
Okay, boys and girls, all this talk about goodies is driving me crazy! Donuts...yumm!! We only have Dunkin' here, but Krispy Kreme delivers to some of the gas stations, but only limited variety. I have always loved the peanut butter creme filled but Dunkin' discontinued them back in summer of 2005...too worried about allergy lawsuits. I was going thru' chemo and would have killed for one! Once in a while I will special order them at Weis grocery. Mmmm...not quite as good. So who ends up getting the donuts??CHRISSY!!!! Wanda, were you referring to the Sally Shop? Heard my in-laws talk about it all the time! I have a good friend who goes to Krumpe's quite frequently in the middle of the night.
Believe it or not, I never heard of King Syrup until I moved here. We always ate Vermont Maid growing up. My ex had to have King...but it came in a red can...??? He always ate it on "puddin'" and pon haus. Yuck! I like good ol' Rapa Scrapple, but not mealy pon haus. We are supposed to get a Harris Teeter here, but now w/ the downturn in the economy, who knows?
They are building a Harris Teeter right near me. Have never been to one. It will not open until 2010. Was raised on King Syrup but like maple now. My husband and I are trying to clean our basement. I just came across the bill for when I was born. Mom kept everything. She was 6 days in the hospital. It cost $49.50. I must have been on sale or they wanted to get rid of me.
Thanks for asking, Lynn, he went to work, but says he still feels weak, sent him to work with Gatorade, hope he drank it, must be something out there better to bring your electrolytes back up.
I did Lynn. I told them send her back where she belonged. My Irish grandmother informed me that she belonged there. Helen was born in February and I turned 5 in May.
Ah...sibling rivalry, alive and well. LOL! SPeaking of kitchen tables...my F-I-L had his tonsils taken out sitting at the kitchen table, as an adult. Oowee! Helen, there IS something better than Gatorade, but I can't remember what it's called....kind of an adult version of Pedialyte...check w/ pharmacist!
Since we are telling birthing stories, I was born at my grandmother's house. I cost $65, 60 for the doc and 5 to rent a jeep to get him up the hill. There was about 3 feet of snow. All my siblings were born in hospitals so I was the special one! :)
____ This Coupon Entitles Helen (aka Mits) to Redeem for 2 dozen donuts at Krumpes Donuts any time after 7pm til 3am from August 13-31st 2008... A FREE BOX OF DONUTS HOLES FOR MAGGIE AND MOLLY TOO...
Hedgie the Roc store carried Krumpies up until a short time ago and they all went to Krispy Creams i think... I use to get them at Rocs on Winchester Avenue
I looked on your blog to see when you were born, Sharon; and 60 bucks was very cheap also ... for that time.
They were lucky to get the doctor to make a house call by then; although when I was a kid, they still would drive 40-50 miles at 2 A.M. to get to your house to treat your killer stomach or ear ache.
I recall that right after the War an office visit would be $3-5 (depending on how long after the War), and the house call was double. This was in the San Diego and No County area, so it was probably more expensive than Minnesota.
I can remember when my youngest daughter was born in Hagerstown at Washington County Hospitol the best OBGYN doctors were Dr. Turco and Dr.Dove an i think it was 150.00 for delivery in 1970... now its thousands for a birth..
Yup Jim like Paula said its always been a favortie of mine and when my Aunt Francis was alive i could always look forward to a years subscription from her at Christmas..lol
Hi Gang. I was just reading the comments for the whole day, and I think I may need to make a run over to Krumpe's! It's only about a mile away, and they're open now.
Hey Sunny they even have Krumpies Tee shirts for sale and nice big brown eggs too.. Ohhh i can smell donuts now.. Yup Hedgie ur right i stopped there before and i think got Chicken..My friend Lynn is going to be reopening her hair salon there at the light on the right going towards Hedgesville.. Im sure youve seen it small white place.. She is really good.. Reopening Sept 2nd i think she said..
little grocery store in Dublin, where we go to the lake. Best deli in the world. They sell homemade blackberry cobbler in individual servings, all kinds of great home cooking.
I just had to post this story about brown pelicans being rescued in Southern Maryland. The locale is where my parents used to have a beach house in St Mary's County, in Ridge, MD. This is where the Potomac River meets the Chesapeake Bay. Seems some of the pelicans didn't migrate over the past 2 winters and a local wildlife rescue organization got the story out, raised funds and helped the pelicans survive the winter. I know Tommy and Julie Courtney, the owners of the restaurant and pier in the slideshow. There are some really neat pictures in this slideshow that will just make your heart melt!
Thanks Paula. I remember seeing that story. They are pretty birds. Sissy I didn't know you wanted to be a panda. Good night everyone. Pleasant dreams. Prayers for all in need.
That is cool Paula. I got bit by a pelican one time in Florida. Worked at a seafood restaurant on the what and we fed em. He got me on the leg, got me good too.
Paula, that was wonderful....love those pelicans, there seem to be a fair amount down the ocean this year.....did read of rescues during this past winter at the beach...
I got some out here in the yard, I'll just take that, it is handy. Gonna hit the sack. Sweet dreams all. See you in the morning light. (Glad I am not a pelican.)
We give thanks to all the Animal life in the world. They have many things to teach us as people. We are glad that they are still here and we hope it will always be so." ~ Excerpt from the Mohawk Thanksgiving Address
I'm going in to see some Olympic action and then hit the sack! Tomorrow at the zoo - Mits, tell Mei we love her dearly but she is getting to be too much to handle!!
Good Night Everyone out there in Eagleland!!! Peace to you & yours!
Good evening, all. I have been home for awhile, but was just relaxing and enjoying the Olympics.
Jo, Sturgis only has 6500 people, after Rally, it is like a ghost town. I think they probably don't want to see many motorcycles for another year. Attendance this year was way down, haven't heard a total yet.
hey Jo, no different then waiting for the eagles to build a nest, mate, lay eggs and hopefully hatch and fledged:), that whole process takes around 4 months...we have not even been on pregnancy watch for a month yet.
Great feature about the pelicans, Paula. Thanks! Hey, Sissy....would you like to be a panda?? LOL. Deb, if what we saw on cams in Sturgis was a "down" year, I can't even imagine what it would be like in a good year! WOW. G'night, all. Peace and prayers for all.
Hopping on late, headed to bed VERY SOON, sleep deprivation thanks to the Perseids.
Moon and Jupiter traveling together tonight, tomorrow, probably closer, and maybe positions reversed.
Look west 20 mins after sunset (in Berkeley County that should be about 8:30 pm) Saturn and Venus will practically be on top of each other, with Mercury to the close lower right, and Mars to the farther upper left...Jupiter will be out as well: A 5-PLANET NIGHT!
Sally Shop: was where the Martinsburg Journal circulation office is now...it was wonderful, best glazed/raised doughnuts in the world! McFarlands also had a bakery on West Burke Street just off Queen in Martinsburg...
JO: I think a Long John is like a chocolate eclair! Sinful!
PAULA: ENJOYED THE PELICAN RESCUE SLIDE SHOW
NILLA; WHERE IS THAT DELI YOU TALKED ABOUT?
I think everyone I am talking to has already hit the sack!
One Raven in particular is hovering around and just perched on the side of the nest, chick seems to be doing some defensive maneuvering to protect the nest, squawking too it seems...I saw this yesterday morning too...

Hello everybody!
so in answer to your question Chrissy, the egg can be delayed implantion, but as far as the birth, no. TU sharon

and boys and girls the question for today is.....where was KING SYRUP developed.........THAT'S RIGHT BALTIMORE, MARYLAND IN 1901, the plant was not far from where I grew up, I never knew there was any other kind of syrup til I got older and started to use maple syrup, but King has a special place in my heart, and stomach..tee-hee;)
You guys are starving me to death!! Enough already, I am dying out here, starving, falling off to nuthin'!!
HAHA i just went out and picked up Chicken Salad sandwich n cup of soup and piece of Strawberry cake
yes Harris Teeter, they have one in Germantown, MD and one just opened up in Fenwick Island DEL., haven't be to any of them yet

Jim
Mits the store in Jax had meats from all over the world and cheeses alot of what some would consider weird food.. But a very interesting store try and go to it sometimes..
OMG this strawberry cake is to die for my friend just opened a deli near me and everything is homemade and cakes from scratch.. She wants me to come down one day and make something like homemade chicken pot pie with tators for her lunch special... Bac to cake so moist!!! yum yummm
Kinda looks like the osprey at CT has a flounder!
BLOG ATE MY COMMENT!!
F & F Q & A
tAKE a look at the bluie link to Frodo's Forum.
I asked a question yesterday, answered today.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
I was just checking some little used links to see what was working now and what was not.
Alcoa in AU is not open for nesting this season yet.
The Alaska Grizzly site has moved to another park, new camera system, etc., and they are expecting to be back in early September.
I tried Pete's Pond again, but every time I try it lately my FireFox has to shut down, and it happened again. They might just be off-line and didn't code it right.

Jim
Not sure that was a fish at all in the CT nest...think it was some trash the osprey brought in
UPDATE FROM 3:30P.M.
August 12
Mei Xiang is still spending her time in den three, sleeping and cuddling her toys.
DO I GET A DONUT FOR BEING 100:)?
I must have been on sale or they wanted to get rid of me.
lol....Ceil!!!!! you were a bargain:)
I like King Syrup on a slice of white bread:)
Ceil, hope you didn't throw that bill away! Priceless....you and the bill! $49.50 for 6 days....can u believe it?
Helen, I didn't know about the different types of bamboo...very interesting. How is jubby feeling?
yes, Lynn, when I was born, she wanted me sent back, so parents could get a puppy dog....
Thanks for asking, Lynn, he went to work, but says he still feels weak, sent him to work with Gatorade, hope he drank it, must be something out there better to bring your electrolytes back up.
it is amazing how the pandas can be picky about their bamboo.
too funny...Mei is in her den sitting on the platform bed eating bamboo, and Tai is in his den doing the same thing...
FRODO CAM is not working
I did Lynn. I told them send her back where she belonged. My Irish grandmother informed me that she belonged there. Helen was born in February and I turned 5 in May.
Until I watched Mei and Tai I thought bamboo was bamboo.
That's a good price, Ceil. You should get at least a controlling interest of that deal.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
it all looks the same to me:)
she was on sale, Jim, my Mom liked a good sale...
can operators nightmare...Mei on the floor and you don't know what she is doing
I was probably super cheap. Small farming town in Minnesota with no hospital.
I was born at home on the kitchen table.
Probably 5-10 bucks for the doctor.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
Jim, my dad was a longshoreman and was unloading ammunition when I was born. He did not get there for a few days.
Jim probably an animal or some produce.
Mei is in a difficult position to watch for any action!!
Hi Everyone ( :
I was reading comments about siblings. My husband at age 6 tried trading his sister age 1 for a hammer..that is TRUE lol
Since we are telling birthing stories, I was born at my grandmother's house. I cost $65, 60 for the doc and 5 to rent a jeep to get him up the hill. There was about 3 feet of snow. All my siblings were born in hospitals so I was the special one! :)
LOL Dana. Sharon you were on sale also.
I have to go water my neighbors flowers and mine. BBL
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
I'll take it Nilla....yummy...
It looks as though there are 2 forums/blogs for Frodo/Frieda.
Hedgie's questions is here
The Birds are back in town-John Grey
Jim's question was answered by
Greg Czechura - Jim has that link in his remark at 4:36 today.
I can remember when my youngest daughter was born in Hagerstown at Washington County Hospitol the best OBGYN doctors were Dr. Turco and Dr.Dove an i think it was 150.00 for delivery in 1970... now its thousands for a birth..
Yes, Nilla, and the cost of things "rose terribly" each year ... I don't care which year or era it was.
Everybody used to take "The Reader's Digest" and every month there were articles on the terrible rise of costs of something or other.
... Or how far behind the Russians we were on science education or the production of engineers or teachers, or missiles or satellites, etc., etc.
We all lost the race(s) and are probably living on borrowed education, economics, and health care now!!
Do they still publish the "Readers Digest"?
It's a miracle we are alive still! Let's party!!
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
I love Reader's Digest - it's still going strong, Jim.
Jo - I saw the 2 forums for the Frodo cam too. Can't remember how you get to both now.
Star is at TH
Yup Jim like Paula said its always been a favortie of mine and when my Aunt Francis was alive i could always look forward to a years subscription from her at Christmas..lol
Hi Gang. I was just reading the comments for the whole day, and I think I may need to make a run over to Krumpe's! It's only about a mile away, and they're open now.
take me, take me....Sunny!!!!
Nilla, you are right....the Roc's at the GM light switched over about 6 yrs. ago. That was the one I always stopped at on my way to work.
Thanks, Jo...I was trying to find it a little while ago, and couldn't!
Paula - Go to Frodocam home page
Lower left click the Frodocam Forum
The page that comes up will be Greg's and then scroll down to John's
"Birds are back in town" section which has 16 comments...
They say they are getting the gallery together... With the time difference we don't see them much until they start nesting on eggs.
Looks like 10 o'clock tonight is time for the USA to take some more gold! Trouble is that Swimming and Gymnastics are almost in the same time slot!
It is Ice Cream time at my house.
BBILW
glad to see frodocam, working again:)
I still want donuts:)
man the boardwalk is packed down the ocean, Jo
Nilla, I wondered what happened to Lynn's salon...glad to hear she'll be back in business soon!
WOW MITS! Boardwalk for a Tuesday evening is rather crowded. Getting those vacations in before the end of August!
good hope they are all done by the time I get back down there:)
Wicomico St Ocean City Cam
Shoulder to shoulder!
Looking at the Sturgis Cam - looks as though only 3 bikes lost their
bikers! lol It's a ghost town!
I could really go for a chocolate iced Bavarian cream long john from Wades in Dublin, VA.
what is that, Sissy?
little grocery store in Dublin, where we go to the lake.
Orphaned Wildlife Rescue Center
The rescue center is located in Calvert County.
fat racoons at PA
Those pandas look so relaxed. Did ya'll know I wish I was a panda?
Thanks Paula. I remember seeing that story. They are pretty birds. Sissy I didn't know you wanted to be a panda. Good night everyone. Pleasant dreams. Prayers for all in need.
That is cool Paula. I got bit by a pelican one time in Florida. Worked at a seafood restaurant on the what and we fed em. He got me on the leg, got me good too.
Paula, that was wonderful....love those pelicans, there seem to be a fair amount down the ocean this year.....did read of rescues during this past winter at the beach...
on the water, excuse me. Watching TV and typing at the same time, not a good idea.
Wish I was a panda.
I'm right behind you Ceil...I didn't know that Sissy...what kinda bamboo do you want? GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
Lots of dedicated persons helping those pelicans survive! Great story Paula.
LOL.....Sissy, guess your leg tasted like fish
I got some out here in the yard, I'll just take that, it is handy. Gonna hit the sack. Sweet dreams all. See you in the morning light. (Glad I am not a pelican.)
loved this quote on the OWRC homepage........
We give thanks to all the Animal life in the world. They have many things to teach us as people. We are glad that they are still here and we hope it will always be so."
~ Excerpt from the Mohawk Thanksgiving Address
hey, hey, Sissy, don't diss the pelicans!!!!
I'm going in to see some Olympic action and then hit the sack!
Tomorrow at the zoo - Mits, tell Mei we love her dearly but she is getting to be too much to handle!!
Good Night Everyone out there in Eagleland!!! Peace to you & yours!
Prayers for all being said
((hugs))
If that is Mei on Cam 1 - she just gave a urine sample!
Good Night
Good evening, all. I have been home for awhile, but was just relaxing and enjoying the Olympics.
Jo, Sturgis only has 6500 people, after Rally, it is like a ghost town. I think they probably don't want to see many motorcycles for another year. Attendance this year was way down, haven't heard a total yet.
hey Jo, no different then waiting for the eagles to build a nest, mate, lay eggs and hopefully hatch and fledged:), that whole process takes around 4 months...we have not even been on pregnancy watch for a month yet.
Didn't think of Mei in that respect
Michael Phelps - Butterfly final
Coming Up!!
Go Phelps Go!!
What an amazing swimmer!
MICHAEL BRINGS HOME ANOTHER GOLD
Women's gymnastics now..
Off to bed..... ((hugs))
Wish I could stay up to watch the women's...stayed up too late last night watching the men!
Heading to bed...nite all!
Happy Doughnut Dreams!
Good Night, Take Care, and Prayers.
xoxo
That line-up of planets is for Wednesday night....
Margy, sounds like "THE DAWNING OF AQUARIUS", with the planets and stars all lined up like that!
Catty is about to become a CHRYSALIS. GeeGee is enjoying the experience.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SLEEP TIGHT
PRAYERS FOR ALL
If you follow this bluie link, you will see what promises to be Frieda's nest this year.
On the other hand, I have yet to see the lady bird this season. How about you?
At least she's been there doing her thing recently.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
Frieda's Place?
I was still looking in at Frieda's scrape, when a falcon in very fresh-looking condition visited the scrape or depression in the gravel.
It's an overhead angle and the perspective is lousy for identification, but I figure it is probably Frieda.
I got a shot, which I will email to those I have on the list ... maybe those will forward it to others.

Ravens are aggravating the chick at Finney's Nest -
One Raven in particular is hovering around and just perched on the side of the nest, chick seems to be doing some defensive maneuvering to protect the nest, squawking too it seems...I saw this yesterday morning too...
http://puleston.osprey.bnl.org/MessageView.php
this link has some info on the activity on the morning of August 12 -
Chick as vacated the nest, Raven on it now...think there might be some food there it is interested in....
Go to the message posted by Craig on the entry Hailuoto Cam
That raven is totally black, except for one very tiny speck of white on the back of its neck...
Parent in our Nest !!
Raven looks about two thirds of the size of the Chick...Raven still on the Finney's nest.
Adult Eagle still at OUR nest..
Turning the Eagle over to the next early riser...
BBIALW
GOOD NIGHT/GOOD MORNING, EVERYBODY.
i JUST about forgot to say 'good night' and I'm very tired and need sleep now.
