Hello everybody- don't forget-METEOR ALERT: The Perseid meteor shower is underway and should reach its peak during the next 24 hours. Forecasters say the best time to look is during the dark hours before dawn on Tuesday, August 12th. The glaring Moon sets around 2:00 a.m., and that's when the Perseids could appear in numbers as high as 60 per hour. The best displays will be seen from rural areas with dark skies. more information available at http://spaceweather.com.
I did put up a new set of pictures from the butterfly house this weekend. I did it different this time. Click on the picture and it will take you to more. I will put more osprey pictures up later. I am off to the lake now.
Good Morning Dave! Just want to say again that I love the pic of the juvie sitting on the boat! You must have been pretty close to get that one. Well, it looks like your back yard!
If Mits is doing the Panda Watch this morning at the zoo - she is watching a sleeping panda! Checked out the Asia trail cams - Otters are out if full force!
Megan, thanks for the heads up on the Meteor Showers. Gene and I watched a wonderful show of them about 4 or 5 years ago. It was so cooooold; in the middle of Winter and 4o'clock in the morning. We enjoyed the show so much, it was worth getting up early and withstanding the freezing temps. I hope I can get my Wimpy Butt (as Sharon would say) out of bed in time to see them tonight...or maybe I should just stay up.
Well paula-eagleholic the day is Aug 22 last day of work.mema jo it is almost in my backyard it is a wildlife haven.costume lady yes i will have lots of time for fun just take my lawn chair and sit by the lake and watch the eagles fiy and fish and anything else that comes by.
Jo, I think you were right in saying (a while back) that we should get a new game. I think the POOP SHOOT FACIALS have worn themselves out. I will continue my Wild and Wonderful. It's a wonderful way to store my favorite Nature Photos. If you like "off the cuff" photos, check me out from time to time. I keep adding new ones. When I want to see them, they are right there...I don't have to go looking in a shoe box. Love this 'puter!!
For those of you that have been following my caterpillar....he is now a chrysalis. Photos have been posted along with a slide show of Butterfly Mama's pond.
Loretta, I am going to grow parsley next year so that I may get a Swallowtail caterpillar and watch him develop. We have had parsley in the past, but I have never seen a caterpillar on it...could be beause I wasn't looking for one. LOL I didn't know about parsley being food for them.
I totally agree Wanda I use my computer to organize and share the things I love. It is so easy to find it and enjoy it at the click of a mouse. And also a way to share with others who are not right there inthe room with you. I am glad to be in the computer age LOL.
Yes Wanda! I like the Fortune Cookie Smoochy one the best! There are quite a few of you Momster/Bloggers that have great enjoyable blogs. I make it a point to check them out frequently. Loretta you're going to love Deb's butterfly pics!
Yes, Wanda I think the Facials have run their course! They were such great fun and made for lots of laughs when you did them. Thank you so much! I'm sure something else will come up for us - especially when the cams run down!
Good morning everyone. I did make it in before noon. Just looked at Deb, Dave and Wanda's pictures. They are awesome. Where is Norma? Does anyone have her phone number? Maybe her computer has gone kaplunk.
Yes, Deb's butterfly pics are beautiful. There is a Park in Wheaton MD, not too far from Helen, called Brookside Gardens. They have a butterfly house w/exotics. When my daughter comes to town in a week, we will go to the new Smithsonian Butterfly Garden and of course the Zoo! (I'm trying to save my bum tooth,so it won't interfere w/our plans. "If it don't hurt, why pull it!" On antibiotics)
I read where the driver did lose his life and 2 others were injured. It was a local Selbyville DE transit - I'm thinking from a chicken farm. Report wasn't very complete.
Headed over to see 13 yr old grandson-take him to lunch.
Jo, frozen chickens the news said here Loretta I am doing the same thing dentist said tooth should be pulled Doesn't hurt yet and it has been at least 5 years.
OH, I LOVE Brookside gardens, they have the greatest butterfly exhibit, and the gardens are beautful. Such a pretty day outside, not typical August weather, just a little too chilly at night, flowers and veggies will slow down with temps in the 50's. My yard is full of butterflies and caterpllars right now, have to be careful when cutting parsley, accidently took a swallowtail caterpillar to mkt. yesterday on a bunch of parsley. Later:)
Megan, just tell them no extra charge for the wild life. Would love to visit the gardens. Will be leaving for Cape Cod on the 24th to meet son and girlfriend.
Been checking out all the lovely pics on blogs! We sure have some talented photogs! Still cool and cloudy here in Wild/Wonderful. Jo...sure hoping Norma is okay. Maybe it is her 'puter... Time for lunch. BBL.
Ceil...I don't recall any photos from your trip to Oregon??? LOVE Cape Cod! Only been there once and didn't have time to stay long. Gene was working then and only had a short vacation. New England states are beautiful.
yes, sleeping pandas on the watch today, except when my shift was ending I lost the little devil Tai...he was hiding, but found a sleeping Tian in the grotto
Does anyone else have concern about the health of the sycamore tree? I wonder if there is anyway that the NCTC crew could stabilize it w/ guide wires or such to help prevent it from falling over in the near future. Wonder if they have a tree pro check it....

MEGAN: LIKE YOU NEW AVATAR, AGAIN! ARE YOU GOING TO GET A PANDA NAP OR JUST GO TO DC ON SHORT SLEEP ?
Norma will be on sometime this week. She has been busy. Computer is bogged down. Had company, plumbing and air conditioning problems. Sharon told her we missed her bright and shiny every morning.
Paula, I just think it looks unhealthy. Had one once a number of years go that started looking like it (small sparse foliage, peeling bark) and it just suddenly fell, so I thought maybe this one might do the same thing.
Dana had emailed me end of last week to let us know that she was a bit busy but everything was ok..not to worry. She will be on blog later in week I think.
August 10 Mei Xiang has spent most of her time in den three since yesterday afternon. Other than sleeping and resting, she has cradled the Kong toy or Boomer ball for nearly five hours. We all wish she was cradling a real cub. We have observed only a small amount of body grooming. Ano-genital licking was observed for a total of 15 minutes There were four bouts; the longest session was seven minutes and the rest were three minutes or less.
Mei Xiang came out of her den when called for an ultrasound this morning. As soon as the procedure was over, she retrieved a piece of bamboo and returned to the den to eat it.
August 9 Mei Xiang was alert this morning and came out of the den immediately for her ultrasound. She was so ready that she came into the training cage and laid down on her back in position, before being asked. Once the procedure was finished, she wanted to stay outdoors and was left to wander in the runway. At one point, she went back into the training cage on her own and assumed the ultrasound position, just waiting for the keeper to notice and provide more attention and treats! Mei Xiang is very food-motivated again, eating all of her apple instead of nibbling around it. She spent most of the rest of the day in den three.
Mei is still cradling, and licking her body. When she drags bamboo to the den, she usually eats it. We observed only one episode of nest building. There has been ano-genital licking observed several times in the past 24 hours but no signs of labor have followed. After a series of ano-genital licking between 10:20 and 11:18 last night, she left the den at midnight and dragged bamboo into the den to commence stripping and eating it. Between 12:24 and 6:14 a.m., volunteers observed four bouts of licking; three of them lasted one or two minutes, and one was six minutes long.
URINE SAMPLES WERE SENT OUT AGAIN TODAY, LYNN, from what I coud get from the keepers today, she has been at baseline hormone level for a few days....they should know more after today's sample......
HiYa Everyone Hope your watching Mei as she was doing alot of the lickin thing and now kind of setting up funny... What a beautiful day and weather man says it wil continue for awhile... I spoke with Dana last week it was she called me i have called her since and got no answer..She was trying to get into use the pool at a place here for her knee exercises... Will try her later tonight...
Someone asked me how i split Jazzys pictures they were 5x7s and i scanned them together simple... Lucky to have gotten them as she was ahandful to get to set still..
Well, this is wildlife report for Franklin Street in Bluefield. I have 55,000 baby grackles in my yard, that many baby sparrows on my roof, baby mourning doves and 1 cardinal. Nice to have a little color in all that brown. All these fellers must have about 10 broods a year or something.
Oh, and just saw a yellow finch land in the tree across the street. And now there is a downy woodpecker on the suet feeder and hummingbird or 2 or 3 chasing each other.
And a baby blue hay here. My list keeps growing and growing. When I got home from Bedford, all my feeders were empty so I figured they had all moved on or died from starvation because their feed lady was gone but no, they are all still here abundantly.
Pretty soon those grackles will begin their flying South lessons, Sharon.... I love the mockingbird, could listen to it all day and all night...always wondered if the ones at NCTC would learn to imitate the Eagle Peeping, but never heard it do that when we were there...
Oh, glad to see Norma has been accounted for.. thought her Harley might have broke down on way home from bike weeek... Just got caught in a hummingbird battle- 6 all around me at once.. noisy little buggers..
Wanda, we have not even downloaded our Oregon pictures. We stay at a place called the Lighthouse Inn. The food is wonderful. We will be in Boston a few days. Love Boston. My son lived there about 9 years and I would take the T into Boston from Brookline. Getting ready to go to the funeral parlor. A friends nephew died. He was 48 had 2 teenage sons from 1st marriage and 2 little girls almost 2 and 4 years old. He was an only child. Please keep the family in your prayers.
Just wanted you all to see the video of the MALE eaglet removed from the nest at Norfolk Botanical Garden - go to the web site and click on the video - cut your sound on, he has the sweetest little voice :)
Oh magpie, mockingbirds are devil birds for sure. We camped on the Outer Banks a few years ago and a mockingbird sat 4 feet from my bed and sounded like a billion birds out there all night long.
Just watching the coverage for the men's swimming relay last night. We watched it last night. That was so awesome. The French said they were going to crush us. That did not happen, we got it!!
Buddy did sing us a pretty song didn't he. Thanks VA Eagle watcher, that was a treat. Welcome to our blog. This is a great place, great people, wonderful friends.
Thank you Jo for the link..made it easier... Boy Buddy isn't "peep peep peeping anymore". He has really growning and has his own teenage musical rhythm lol
Be back in a few Must address some special cards for the mail tomorrow..... Also send some ecards! Anniversaries are being celebrated by son/wife and also by granddaughter/grandson-in-law. AND more b-days for the end of this month!
Thanks, VA Eagle Watcher, and thanks, Jo, for the tiny url, what a beauty Buddy is...so wonderful to hear him sing such a joyful song:)...what a sweet face he has, and the way he tilts his head...darling!
Glo my goodness you got to watch such a wonderful experience. WOW !! ( : Neat.... Thank you so much for sharing your time again and the video of Ruffles. He will probably join his family since they had flown over that morning....such goodness and devotion in the music I loved.
Yes eagle eye sissy Ruffles added a little nervousness for all of us at the release. Poor thing really was frightened there for a bit and she had such a hard time getting especially one of the TV folks to back away . Once he was upright though you could see him literally shake it off. I so want to call out there and see if Dustin has seen him today and if he ate etc etc. But I don't want to be a pest. I will drive out there some day this week and spend an hour or so. I hope I see a juvie in or around where I know the release took place. I won't know for certain if i see Ruffles well but if I see him on or near that tree I will feel pretty sure that is who it is. Th eother two were pretty much soaring over by the river when I caught them on the cam. Not at all back in that particular area.
Glad you enjoyed Dana Hope you are doing OK. I know you are not feeling overly super and also know there has been some sadness in your world. ((((hugs))))) I am also so glad to see Sharon called Norma. I too was getting pretty concerned as to where she was and what was going on for her.
It's looking like there is not going to be a panda cub for us, isn't it? I would love to see her shoot us one out of there!! But I am not holding out much hope for it.
They were showing a cow have a calf at the State Fair. You should have seen the onlooker's faces when she had that calf. The kids were so grossed out (so was the newsperson). It was so funny to watch. Didn't show the actual birth on the news, just the onlookers faces and the cow's face as she was having it.
shooting out a 4 to 5 oz cub, isn't quite as gross, Sissy....yep not looking good for Mei...they should be making an announcement in the next day or two
ATLANTA'S PANDA UPDATE FOR AUGUST 11THMonday, August 11 As you may have read on Friday, Lun Lun has noticeably slowed down. Due to this, the decision was made to start the 24-hour birth this past Saturday. I had been off work at the beginning part of the week, so Lun’s behavior was a total change for me – a fairly abrupt change from the last time I had seen her. She did fine on Thursday for her ultrasound, but then by Friday morning she was out of it. We had been noticing a very slight decrease in activity and bamboo intake, but nothing to set off any alarms. Two years ago, she had gradually declined in her behavior over a period of a few weeks, until she wouldn’t go out anymore. She decided that she needed to be different this year and surprise everyone. But isn’t that typical of Lun?
Nothing that interesting happened with her over the weekend, though, just lots of sleeping. There’s hardly any bamboo intake at present, and even yesterday, she was refusing to take any fruit or biscuits. This morning she did sit and eat some bamboo, probably more than the last two days combined, but nothing great. Even if she does come over for a quick training session, there’s only about a minute before she slumps over and goes back to sleep.
Now we just wait, watch and cross our pseudothumbs. Joseph T. Svoke Giant Panda Keeper II, Carnivore Department
GLO, I didn't realize you were taking the video of Ruffles. Wouldn't they let you get close enough to film him leaving the cage? Did he come out a little at a time or leave hurridly?
Good observation, Wanda about Buddy being a songbird! He sounded so sweet and your right Sharon that he just stole your heart the way he turned his head!
In my opinion (gut feeling) Momma Mei isn't gonna be a Momma! Having said that - I now dare her to prove me wrong! I even double dare her!.....
Went to give blood tonight, the place was like a meat locker. I kept looking around for the beef! By the time I left...my fingers were numb! Came home and ate a bowl of soup!
Thx Glo for the WONDERFUL video of Ruffles. How exciting! Did he originally have any injury?or just fallen out of the nest? Think the Buddy video was on last week. He sure does sing pretty! W#as working w/plants outside & at 8:20 PM hummers were still chasing each other around the feeder. We have had tons more grackles & starlings this year stealing the food from all the other birds. They steal 2 suet cakes a day!! Hubby stopped putting out suet for a few days & then NO ONE was around-too quiet, so they're back up. Dana--glad you're around & good to hear Norma is around too! And I thought she went off w/the plumber!!!LOL
Well, you know what Loretta...Miss Norma calls that PLUMBER every once in a while. He must have something that interests her. Maybe a motorcycle or a CANE?
Lynn, you asked earlier about my shop. I am open by appointment during the off season and every day except Sunday during the month of October. Have you daughter call me and she can look around and also look at my catalog. I have posted some photos of the costumes on "Wanda's Wishes". I posted them on here last year, but they must have gotten eaten up by the blogger cop. LOL
I only posted the link for the You Tube video on here but have Ruffles story told a little more on the FTLOE Blog. He was number 3 in his nest this year. He did not have an injury but was weakened to the point he was walking along the ground "barely" and did not even resist when they came to take him to the Rehab Center. Yes Wanda he took off within a minute or so of being taken to the second more shady spot. I took all of the photos and videos you see there. I could only do one at a time though and chose the photo for the flight as it was really shady and dark. The TV folks were up closer to the cage but I am not sure they actually got the flight either. I did get him both approaching and going right over me. Ya know I was trusting him to not crash into me where I was standing.
Lord, I don't know how much more of this panda pregnancy/pseudopregnancy I can stand!! So now Lun Lun may be pregnant? At least there is still hope of a baby panda in my future. (I wish I was a panda.) Been a great blog day, just love you guys. Gonna catch a bit of the Olympics before I pack it in. Beach volleyball on now.
Some of us have been talking about parsley in regards to black swallowtails. I just posted a picture of what happened to our parsley!!Does it get a Gold Medal?
Good evening all. Buddy has a beautiful voice. Good luck to Ruffles. Thank you all for prayers for friend's family. They are doing good. I think better than I am. Has been a long day so I am going to say.Pleasant dreams to all.
Loretta, I planted some lemon balm in my flower garden (unwittingly) and by the next year, it had taken over the whole lower half of my flower garden. Like to never got rid of that stuff. Now I make sure I know what I am planting in there.
I do know that Norma has an eye for good looking men. Do you think she REALLY is having puter problems? Maybe she needs a break to pull herself together after entertaining a houseful of people.
I doubt if I will get up for the shower tonight, probably would if I were at the beach, did not sleep much last night with hubby being so sick:(...will catch the ones in November
That stupid parsley lasted thru a few winters like a tree!! Finally died.I didn't have the heart to get rid of it since it was so unusual.
I'm trying to decide whether to get up extra early to see the meteors or not. Is it still dark around 5:30? I have to get up at 6:30 to go to Park. Gonna check Finland, etc. & watch some Olympics. Gotta see swimming & gymnastics.
Thanks Mits for the answer before the question! lol I got so excited thinking they took the cam off of her for a special reason and switched to the big room!
Oh, Bob. Those are beautiful. I tried to set one of the sunset pics as my background but the resolution is to low. Can you send the sunset ones to my email?
I don't think so, Sissy, I'm just not used to him getting sick and cancelling travel plans, so it scared me, but he is staying hydrated and keeping stuff down now...was a rough night for him
Bob Did you get caught in bridge traffic when you traveled to Cambridge? Your pics have all my favorites - dragon flys, sunsets and trumpet vine flowers! Thanks for sharing!
JO, she has the staff at the zoo really scratching their heads, she has spent alot of time in the birthing den, but is ready and willing to come out to eat and for ultrasounds...she seems really awake tonight.

Thanks for the meteor alert, Megan.
I might give it a look-see; although it's often overcast at night around here.
But if it's clear, it's a great show. I recall seeing them sometimes while camping away from the town lights back when I was a teeny-bopper.

Off now to do some soaring I guess....to round up the juveniles maybe...
Well, we had a pretty good little crowd of onlookers !
I have a feeling that with all the company Norma had (kids & adults) that her computer may have been used and now is kaput!
We did have a good many Momsters around for the special event -
thanks to you, Margie for sighting our treasured visitor and sounding the alert!
I think I have to pass the credit on to the Good Lord, for waking me up and sending me out to the computer !
Sharon is calling her now.
Norma is okay, computer is down. Sharon is still on the phone.
Does anyone else have concern about the health of the sycamore tree? I wonder if there is anyway that the NCTC crew could stabilize it w/ guide wires or such to help prevent it from falling over in the near future. Wonder if they have a tree pro check it....
Hmmm Jo, did Lib leave you a turtle shell?
Whew, can hardly think straight now...
Regarding the Perseids, these and the Leonids, in November, are typically the best! Usually the summer haze affects the viewing, but with the low humidity - we may luck out....especially if the skies are clear like they were last night...
Good Luck Everyone....
MEGAN: LIKE YOU NEW AVATAR, AGAIN!
ARE YOU GOING TO GET A PANDA NAP OR JUST GO TO DC ON SHORT SLEEP ?
Amen, Sharon. Thanks. Tell Norma we were worried. Thanks, Sis.
CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR THE UPDATES FROM SHARON ON NORMA.....HOPE ALL IS WELL AND "HO" with her....
Norma will be on sometime this week. She has been busy. Computer is bogged down. Had company, plumbing and air conditioning problems. Sharon told her we missed her bright and shiny every morning.
Thanks for the update on Norma, Sissy and Sharon.....maybe that good-looking plumber was able to make another visit !!!
Sure she didn't slip out to Sturgis and not tell us ??
God Bless You for checking on her....
Can't wait to see those early morning Cheery Greetings one of these days..
Hope everyone else is doing well..
OH HO!! Plumber still needed???? lol
I was wondering why you were not still sleeping, Margie.
Paula - just to the left of center -
could that be a shell?
Thanks Sharon for making the call...
Hedgie - there isn't anything wrong with the tree. What makes you think that?
Jo, yes...bottom center I would say...touching the small stick across the nest that goes l to r
Yes, thank you Sharon.
Now, Where's Dana!?
Paula, I just think it looks unhealthy. Had one once a number of years go that started looking like it (small sparse foliage, peeling bark) and it just suddenly fell, so I thought maybe this one might do the same thing.
Dana had emailed me end of last week to let us know that she was a bit busy but everything was ok..not to worry. She will be on blog later in week I think.
Jo, it does look like a shell! Lib must have brought it just for you!!!
August 10
Mei Xiang has spent most of her time in den three since yesterday afternon.
August 9
Mei Xiang was alert this morning and came out of the den immediately for her ultrasound.
Dinner time

Hmmmm does Mei have that look of pain in her face??? Mits whatcha think?? Or just wishful thinkin on my part i suppose...
Someone asked me how i split Jazzys pictures they were 5x7s and i scanned them together simple... Lucky to have gotten them as she was ahandful to get to set still..
I think we are all wishing she was in pain:)
that is a darling picture of her, Nilla
Good evening everyone. It was really good talking to our Normabyrd and I let her know how much we missed her.
In Bedford, their biggest bird population is mockingbird, next would be mourning doves, cardinals, blue jays and the lovely titmouse.
I sure would love to hear a squalling cub on this daggone panda cam!
And a baby blue hay here. My list keeps growing and growing. When I got home from Bedford, all my feeders were empty so I figured they had all moved on or died from starvation because their feed lady was gone but no, they are all still here abundantly.
Thanks again, Sharon, and thanks for the updates on DANA too, Nilla and Jo..
Burrowing owls taking a shade break, WildWatch Ospreys beefing up !
I think Lake Washington Eagle cam might be up again, can't tell for sure..pic looks different.
TTFN - Got some tasks to attend to...
xoxo
Pretty soon those grackles will begin their flying South lessons, Sharon....
I love the mockingbird, could listen to it all day and all night...always wondered if the ones at NCTC would learn to imitate the Eagle Peeping, but never heard it do that when we were there...
Oh, glad to see Norma has been accounted for.. thought her Harley might have broke down on way home from bike weeek... Just got caught in a hummingbird battle- 6 all around me at once.. noisy little buggers..
SHARON: I saw some boat-tailed Grackles in Houston several years back: their tails are as long as the rest of their bodies!
Hello All
Just wanted you all to see the video of the MALE eaglet removed from the nest at Norfolk Botanical Garden - go to the web site and click on the video - cut your sound on, he has the sweetest little voice :)
we keep the family in my prayers, Ceil:(
Thanks VA eagle watcher- what a beautiful song.. cool video- it's on the WVEC.com website- eagle cam page-top right.
Oh magpie, mockingbirds are devil birds for sure. We camped on the Outer Banks a few years ago and a mockingbird sat 4 feet from my bed and sounded like a billion birds out there all night long.
blogger got me i thought.
Just watching the coverage for the men's swimming relay last night. We watched it last night. That was so awesome. The French said they were going to crush us. That did not happen, we got it!!
CEIL -
Prayers for strength and
comfort for your friend's family -
Ceil, we are praying for your friend's family. So sad!!
They are at Tienanmen's Square. Stark contrast to the first time most of us saw that place.
That IS a nice little singing video of BUDDY - Thanks VA Eagle Watcher - Nice to "See You." - Welcome Aboard !
Buddy did sing us a pretty song didn't he. Thanks VA Eagle watcher, that was a treat. Welcome to our blog. This is a great place, great people, wonderful friends.

Thanks, VA Eagle Watcher, and thanks, Jo, for the tiny url, what a beauty Buddy is...so wonderful to hear him sing such a joyful song:)
Thank you Jo for the link..made it easier...
Boy Buddy isn't "peep peep peeping anymore". He has really growning and has his own teenage musical rhythm lol
Glad your back Dana!
Everybody missed your not being here.
I managed to get the video ready of the Eagle Release I got to watch yesterday. I hope you will take time to go see Ruffles A Bald Eagle Release Story
That was really beautiful. I was reading back where they were saying his prognosis was so poor. He really has showed them.
Sharon that's too many grackles for me!!
BUDDY, you little faker, we thought you were an EAGLE, but now we know you are a sweet songbird!
Be back in a few

Glo, loved the video. Thanks for sharing that with us. He had a hard time there for a minute, didn't he?
Didn't show the actual birth on the news, just the onlookers faces and the cow's face as she was having it.
shooting out a 4 to 5 oz cub, isn't quite as gross, Sissy....yep not looking good for Mei...they should be making an announcement in the next day or two
blogger cop, don't start with me.....not in the mood:(
Blogger cop got me today too Mits. It is so cool here this evening. Supposed to get down to 49 tonight. Feels like fall instead of August.
That video of Buddy was so awesome. I loved how he turned his head almost upside down. Looks like he is jamming. What a miracle he is!
I know, Sissy, when I got out of my car this a.m. at the zoo, felt like September, but crowds are still there
ATLANTA'S PANDA UPDATE FOR AUGUST 11THMonday, August 11
As you may have read on Friday, Lun Lun has noticeably slowed down.

GLO, I didn't realize you were taking the video of Ruffles. Wouldn't they let you get close enough to film him leaving the cage? Did he come out a little at a time or leave hurridly?
VA eagle watcher - glad you reposted the link to Buddy's video...guess some people missed the link I posted last week.
And here's a link to today's pics...
NBG forum
Good observation, Wanda about Buddy being a songbird! He sounded so sweet and your right Sharon that he just stole your heart the way he turned his head!
In my opinion (gut feeling)
Momma Mei isn't gonna be a Momma!
Having said that - I now dare her to prove me wrong! I even double dare her!.....
Sounds like there is still some hope for an Atlanta panda cub. You go girl!!
Nice and cool today! Sure felt like fall.
Went to give blood tonight, the place was like a meat locker. I kept looking around for the beef! By the time I left...my fingers were numb! Came home and ate a bowl of soup!
ATLANTA, is I think just going into her luteal phase, she was inseminated a month after Mei was...so it might be awhile before she delivers
lol...Paula, WHERE'S THE BEEF???? Hubby has been home sick today and keeps turning off the AC, and I keep turning it back on:)
Thanks Jo and Glo for video links. Buddy sure has a set of vocal chords on him!!
Hey,Dana! Welcome "home" girlfriend!!
Well, you know what Loretta...Miss Norma calls that PLUMBER every once in a while. He must have something that interests her. Maybe a motorcycle or a CANE?
looks like the tie-ups at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge have ended....clear sailing at the toll plaza
Dana, if you are still on here...did you get to go to the pool?
and she has the AC man on the side too.;)
Lynn, you asked earlier about my shop.
LOL
In video and in pics, notice the "poop wall" ? Guess Buddy's a pretty good shot! Would hate to have to mess w/ that carpet!!
Glo - Here's hoping Ruffles catches up with his siblings tomorrow and rides the thermals! Beautiful event for you to witness!!
Miss Norma has an A/C man too...I'll bet he's COOL!
aaarrrggghhhhh, WANDA:)
Thanks, Wanda! Will relay info!
Moon is brilliantly shinning and the
Sky is clear
Can I stay awake until 2am..
That is a good question......
Loretta, I think you should at least get "Gardner of the Year". LOL
Wanda, I just saw that!!!Really cool!!
Loretta, I planted some lemon balm in my flower garden (unwittingly) and by the next year, it had taken over the whole lower half of my flower garden. Like to never got rid of that stuff. Now I make sure I know what I am planting in there.
Good Night Ceil....prayers for your friends family.
Good night Ceil, hope tomorrow is a better day! Sweet dreams.
Wanda, my last comment was about Norma. You know, the way she is going she might get free home repairs for a long time!(Just funnin')
Prayers for Ceil's friends.
hang in there, Ceil:)
We are winning the women's beach volleyball, 20-15, we won that match. Beat the Cubans.
Mei Xiang has left the birthing den and is eating her bamboo.
Good Night Ceil - Peace be with you!
Loretta - I just looked at all your hummer pics ! Spectacular to say the least! Great shots & I love your captions!
MITS - who is on Panda cam 1 now?
I do know that Norma has an eye for good looking men. Do you think she REALLY is having puter problems? Maybe she needs a break to pull herself together after entertaining a houseful of people.
I doubt if I will get up for the shower tonight, probably would if I were at the beach, did not sleep much last night with hubby being so sick:(...will catch the ones in November
If anyone is still awake I just posted some new BW photos from Saturday:
New BW Photos
Bob
Mits, I hope your hubby gets better in a hurry, not serious is it?
that would be Mei, I believe, Jo, let me check again
That stupid parsley lasted thru a few winters like a tree!! Finally died.I didn't have the heart to get rid of it since it was so unusual.
I'm trying to decide whether to get up extra early to see the meteors or not. Is it still dark around 5:30? I have to get up at 6:30 to go to Park.
Gonna check Finland, etc. & watch some Olympics. Gotta see swimming & gymnastics.
Thanks Mits for the answer before the question! lol
I got so excited thinking they took the cam off of her for a special reason and switched to the big room!
Oh, Bob. Those are beautiful. I tried to set one of the sunset pics as my background but the resolution is to low. Can you send the sunset ones to my email?
Sissy Love the new pic!
Hi Bob! Blog is pretty active.
Headed over to view your pictures
Sure, which ones do you want?
Loretta, your Hummer captions are hilarious! I love WOODYHUMMER. LOL
That pic is from the rescue in China after the earthquake. They are all cute, it was hard to pic one. I'll have to change it often to get them all in.
yes, looks like Mei on both cams
I don't think so, Sissy, I'm just not used to him getting sick and cancelling travel plans, so it scared me, but he is staying hydrated and keeping stuff down now...was a rough night for him
the whole next to the last row, Bob, of the sunset. Those are just beautiful. You are really good at getting the great shots.
Mei is bringing the bamboo into the birthing den....again!!!
Bob Did you get caught in bridge traffic when you traveled to
Cambridge? Your pics have all my favorites - dragon flys, sunsets and trumpet vine flowers!
Thanks for sharing!
Me and Sharon were saying Mei needs some of the bamboo in my yard. Maybe it would help her give us a baby.
WOW, Bob! Those are spectacular photos. Never knew there could be anything lovely about pokeweed!
Mits Mei doesn't normally go into the birthing den as much as she has since we thought she could be really pregnant - does she?
Bob, is the egret really that blue? I love the first two "Sunset/ Moon" photos...the colors are really pretty.
as my granddaughter would say BOB.....OH WOW!!!!!!
Jo - I waited till this morning to come back. No way I was going to sit in that traffic.
JO, she has the staff at the zoo really scratching their heads, she has spent alot of time in the birthing den, but is ready and willing to come out to eat and for ultrasounds...she seems really awake tonight.
