pandas like close spaces like dens for giving birth.......yes, Nilla, your right our 1st little eaglet Maggie was born 2 years ago today...because of her downs syndrome, she is just now starting to take steps....., she is in a new school, the Goddard school, and is loving life.....Molly will be starting the same school in a few weeks, it is close to where they live....we will be going up later to have cake and ice cream, not the big blow-out like last year:)
Thats wonderful Mits and wow Molly will start soon too? I work with Jazzy when i have her we sing songs she loves to sing and she knows her eyes.. nose.. mouth ..chin.. belly button and her pigs (toes) She can hold up fingers when i say wheres 1 at? But she loves Square Pants Sponge Bob..lol She got a pink battery operated car for her birthday and drives it ..lol Well you have 1 party for Maggie ..Jazzy had 4 parties and 4 cakes.. She loves the Birthday song..lol
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SWEET LITTLE MAGGIE! Maggie's birthday brings to mind a customer that I have had for many years that has a DS child. I have watched that beautiful little girl grow into a wonderful teenager. I don't know if she remembers me from year to year, but she seems to. She sits with me as her mother looks at and chooses a costume for her to try on. She confides in me her innermost thoughts and feelings. Her honesty and joy just overwhelms me. She has brought a new understanding to me of DS children and I find myself looking forward to seeing her every Halloween and listening to what the past year has brought to her.
thanks, Wanda good to know, we are still in the learning process...but little Maggie has taught us a lot....yes, Nilla, Molly will be 1 year old on October 1st....funny she watched Maggie crawl and is crawling just like her....but she is much stronger than Maggie was at this age...
GOod Morning - Great weather we're having. I am going for Burgers on the grill this evening for granddaughter's b-day party! Don't tell anyone that I have a 30 yr old granddaughter! I love her!
The pictures you share, Mits, of Maggie and Molly are 2 beautiful little girls! I'll be looking forward to Maggie's b-day pics! I hope they let her stick her finger in the cake! ((hugs))
Happy Birthday to Maggie and Jo's "old" granddaughter!! Heading out to finally start painting deck rails!! Hope no showers pop up. Suppose Mei will do something while I'm too busy to watch!! Good day to all.
Wow there were some late nighters and some early monrningers on the other blog. T-Bird - you've been getting all the eagle fixes. Love how you did Buddy's pic on the avatar. Paula - love the juvie pic on your avatar. I forgot to mention that the other day.
Finally got computer to get back on line, and I am seeing about everyone's children and grandchildren coming for picnics and having birthdays. How wonderful.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MAGGIE AND TO JO'S "OLDER" GRANDCHILD. Hey Jo, I only have one son, just getting married. I'll probably be deceased before I have my first grandchild. :)
So you all keep coming with all the reports of your grand children and pics for all of us to enjoy.
redskins and buffalo tonight...son has tickets, don't know if he and f-i-l will go after bd party...ravens played new england the other night, won, but not looking for a good year...jmho
Helen, I guess one can always home. Father time keeps ticking on. You just have a wonderful time at Maggie's birthday party today and give us some running details so we can all share in it with you. :)
Oh well, you have to go with the ups and downs. I am anxious for the Carolina Tar Heals to start their football games also, and we are usually hit or miss. I still get up for each game tho.
The Revens might just surprise you all. Time will tell. Hang in there.
Oh before I forget, I have to yell "Go Eeeeeeeeerrrssss" for Norma, even tho she hasn't been seen lately. I root for them until and if they play the Tar Heals. :)
still think it will be a putt-putt year.....am anxious to see the NFL's new rules about drunk and obnoxious people in the stands...if they throw them out the stadiums will be MT, which is fine with me....especially the opposing teams visitors who are always looking for a fight, and that goes for the Raven fans who visit stadiums too. These people take away from the fun of the game
Alcohol has a way for spoiling life in general if overdone. Maybe they shouldn't be able to sell it at the games or bring it in themselves. You are right, there will always be someone who is just had enough in him and be ready to start things getting nasty.
Watching the little lonely Hobby chick in the nest as the winds roar all around him. Nest looks pretty secure. He is starting to get his darker feathers. He is just rockin' and rollin' with the weather!
There is also a chick in the Finny 2008 nest.. I think it is a chick - it is resting and I can't see the feathers too well. It is early evening there.
I need to do some things before we leave around 3:30. Will pop in before then ... I have Mei's cam up & running but my hopes aren't very high for getting a new cub! :(
Hi all! Been a long time since I have been on. Had a great time at the beach! The weather was perfect and no one got a sunburn. We had a great house, new and luxurious! We had a golf cart to go to the beach, no lugging buckets etc! We built beautiful sand castles. I have decided that happiness is building sand castles with your own grown children and grandchildren. More fun!
Going back to the beach in Sept., but this time taking our trailer and meeting my sister and her hubby in their RV. Never can get enough of beach walking!
School starts in two weeks. So, I have a lot of babysitting in the next couple of weeks. Laurel, our daughter will be getting her classroom ready and has in-service. Week after next we are having "Camp Grandmommy & Grandaddy". We are planning great activities!
Good Eagle PM to Everyone. See everybody's busy or Blogger is eating Comments!! Haven't been on--had to stay home from work Fri. w/bum tooth. Of course my dentist was on vacation!!!Referral # had no dentists at work & girls said "go to hosp"!!!!In late PM was able to see our periodontist (gum) dentist. He took x-ray--said it has to come out. :>(( Got antibiotics and painkiller Naproxen. Happy B'Day to the little & big Granddaughters!!!!
HELLO, Lolly!!! Good to hear from you! Guess you weathered tropical storm! We were talking about you & wondering if you had to leave! Sounds like a great trip & you get to go back!!!!!
Good Afternoon and Day to Everyone: I was up very late (4 o'clock) so just slept in 'cause I have to work midnight tonight....I have to fess up: It was not I, but Megan that saw the early morning Eagles with the other gals...I think when T-Bird signs on, the Eagles must know it, because soon after, Voila! We have visitors.... - - -
Happy Day to the Birthday Girls today, and all their families!
Love the new avatars that keep showing up: Big Buddy, and Candy's eagles....and the others... such fun !
I have been watching Finney's Nest a lot, and cannot tell if it is the same chick or the two are taking turns, but they sure are in that nest a lot! Tribute to the lost one, maybe...I saw a bird perched in a tree nearby the nest early (early our time) this morning, while the chick was still in the nest, wasn't sure what it was, maybe, a parent or the other chick, that's what I'm hoping...
Mmmmmmmm Grilled chow - pork chops, burgers....sure makes my tomato sandwiches seem a little uninspired....though in the summer I can live on tomato sandwiches with great pleasure...
Good Day to All, time to get ready for afternoon church, then nap time...Catch ya' all later on...
Well we are ready to take off out of here. Hedgie I didn't want you to know that I was coming to Hedgesville for the b-day party!! I was afraid you would ask me to stop by and help paint with you! lol Next time when it is just for a visit I promise I'll stop. I will give you a Hoop & a Holler as I pass your road!

Mits enjoy your Maggie's b-day party! Give her a real big hug from all of us Momsters!
Yes, Paula...done for today!! Got the biggest part done (8 posts and about 40 feet of double rails!). Still have the balcony to do and the "small" deck (maybe 10 feet) plus railings on staircase. Argh...I'm beat! Hands cramping. Hey, Jo, I wouldn't have made you work!!! Hope everyone is enjoying their parties. Nilla, Margy goes to the beautiful (new) Catholic Church out on 9 East. Is it St. James? I think... I see Mei is still keeping us waiting!
So anyway, we're kayaking on the Potomac, just below NCTC, and this very large bird, dark brown with a white head and white tail, flies out of the trees right in front of us. It wasn't 10 feet over the water. Can I just say "AWESOME"?
Hey LOLLY So good to see you back and in one piece. Everyone was concerned for your welfare with that storm coming your way. Glad to see you had a great time.
Hi Nilla - Hedgie has it right, Saint James Catholic on Rt 9E - very beautiful church, lots of wonderful people...Our priest, Father Brian, is the son of a Baptist Minister from North Carolina, he not only converted to Catholicism, he became a priest! It makes for some funny sermons...
- - - New wildflower out up here: New York Ironweed ! Tall, and deep dark purple flowers - it's a beauty, but you know what it means....fall is approaching..
Good Night all, Panda nap time for me then off to the salt mines at midnight.
Well im back from playing canasta and other games that makes me say bad things to the computor..lol Mie is laying on her back in the corner with her arm over her eyes.. I dont know where that church is sorry...Yup fall is coming i have crickets in the house and here at work.. I wont kill them good luck ya know...But sweep them out the door with abroom..lol Thought i should let ya know im a die hard Redskin fan since 1962 .. Paula is too and few others... Watching mens gymnastics too...
Halftime....Nilla, how did you do the split avatar? Nice! I've got ya' beat, kiddo...I was born a Skins fan!! My dad was a bigtime fan...he and mom were at that horrible game in the early 40's where I think the Bears clobbered us 60-something to 0!! St. James is on the east side of CharlesTown...between the bypass and the river. You must drive out there, Nilla...it's amazing. They must be so proud of it. Missed saying g'night to Margy! Hope you have a quiet shift.
just stopping by to say,GOODNIGHT EVERYONE, Had a great time at the BD party, and Maggie had a good time too., didn't want any cake, but did share with everyone, by flinging it in your direction...thought I would see a cub when I got home, but no :(
Paula, no we didn't go with the group. I joined their Yahoo group, but I don't think we could keep up with them on a paddle. They're a lot more hard-core than we are!
Sunny - I think they do 5 miles up and 5 back from that last email I got...I joined the group too. Would love to go kayaking...but should take a lesson first! Been a long time!
The Capt. and I have been at a cook-out-birthday party this afternoon and evening. We saw many friends that we haven't seen in a loooong time. Very nice!
OH, it's quiet in here... sounds like everyone had a good day.. Naturenut, hope your tooth is feelin better soon.. Sunny, nice to see you in here- glad you saw one of the eagles soaring. MT nest, panda sleeping..Sturgis cam is still hopping...bet it's getting a little wild about this time of night there..yikes- off to catch some zzzz's...
Y-a-w-n....fell asleep on sofa whilst (I bet that's a Chrissy word!) catching the news. Sorry I didn't say goodnight! Thelma...still have not seen FedEx field...and there's talk about another new stadium! Would love to catch a game with you. Glad everyone had such a great Sat. What does Sunday hold in store?? Maybe a butter stick?? Later, gators!
no eagles have there been to my eyes this morning- :) No one ever said I was a poet. Heck, no one ever said I could even spell and my mom was a teacher-bless her soul. Hope everyone's Sunday is made good.
Mei Xiang has 2 balls in the birthing den with her. Now she is going out into the open den. She went there a minute ago and made a poopy. Now she is sitting there with a pieece of bamboo and just broke it in two.
They just stuck a piece of bamboo through the window of her door, she pulled it the rest of the way in and dragged it into the birthing den. That is all she needs, more bamboo in there.
What, no baby panda?? I was so hoping to have a new addition to the zoo. It was good to hear from Sunny last evening and soooo glad she got to see one of our beauties. That must have been spectacular!
It said in the paper today to don't even THINK about cleaning house today. So, I am going to follow that idea, sounds like a good one. Veg and do absolutely nothing, sounds so good!! My poor husband is at Downard Hydraulics slaving away, bless his heart. So, I will be lazy enough for both of us.
looks like Mei has replenished the bamboo in her birthing den, they had cleaned it out yesterday....not hearing a peep from the zoo, which is kinda unusual.

Glad everyone had such a great Sat. What does Sunday hold in store?? Maybe a butter stick?? Later, gators!
hedgie-love to have a butta stick, she is craddling right now as she falls over head first :) to go back to sleep in her bamboo
no eagles have there been to my eyes this morning- :) No one ever said I was a poet. Heck, no one ever said I could even spell and my mom was a teacher-bless her soul. Hope everyone's Sunday is made good.
Good Sunday morning everyone! Watching Mei. She is still having those behaviors. We want a baby, Mei!!!!!
I guess everyone is still in bed??
Mei Xiang has 2 balls in the birthing den with her. Now she is going out into the open den. She went there a minute ago and made a poopy. Now she is sitting there with a pieece of bamboo and just broke it in two.
They just stuck a piece of bamboo through the window of her door, she pulled it the rest of the way in and dragged it into the birthing den. That is all she needs, more bamboo in there.
GOOD MORNING SHARON...AND EVERYONE
What, no baby panda?? I was so hoping to have a new addition to the zoo.
It was good to hear from Sunny last evening and soooo glad she got to see one of our beauties. That must have been spectacular!
The Blogger Cop is awake this morning!
Good morning, all you beautiful people. Did you know that today is officially lazy day?
GOOE SUNDAY MORNING EVERYONE
It said in the paper today to don't even THINK about cleaning house today. So, I am going to follow that idea, sounds like a good one. Veg and do absolutely nothing, sounds so good!! My poor husband is at Downard Hydraulics slaving away, bless his heart. So, I will be lazy enough for both of us.
I dreamed last night we had a baby panda this morning!
looks like Mei has replenished the bamboo in her birthing den, they had cleaned it out yesterday....not hearing a peep from the zoo, which is kinda unusual.
Good Sunday Morning to everyone out there is EagleLand.I am off to Mass Talk with you later
FINNEYS' nest is MT
