Our eaglets haven't been fed yet. I hope they get their tummies full before the storm comes. Parent came earlier without breakfast. Maybe saw they had no leftovers, and went for a nice big juicy fish.
Happy Birthday to Jim. Have a great one. Morning Wanda and Paula. Think we will be getting storms here today. Have seen a few tornadoes in the Baltimore area in my life time. Only about 2. Very scary.
Good Morning... I see the cam is messing up a bit (haven't read any of your comments yet) I just needed to be able to count 1, 2 3 in the nest. They all seem to have wings in motion. They sure could knock one another out of there!
Good Steve is there watching live feed which means if one of our guys gets blown out of there I don't have to jump in the car for resuce because Steve Will Do It!
Storm has not come over the mountain yet to my valley.........
Yes Naturenut Another little miracle event around Spunky. YOu can see why you keep seeing that name. Spunky has an ongoing fan club That is just one of many reasons.
After our Lightning strike, it seems everything went out here, including my 'puter. Had to re-boot three times. The storm is over for now. Weather forcast shows more coming, later.
AND thanks to everyone for the "Happy Birthday" wishes, even "singing in the rain" for our entertainment... {:~D} !!
Ceil, Glo, Paula, Mema Jo, Nature N, Deb, Eagle Eye Sharon and all my Eagle Buddies here this morning, thank you very, very much for the good wishes.
You are right, Mema Jo, I was snoozing away until just a few minutes ago, but the sun is shining in, and I'm up to honor it with a cup of java. I hope you are all happy this morning.
Just heard from Mits. She said to say Hi and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JIM. Told her about the storm and that it is headed her way. She might be holding on to the tent and flapping her wings.
Well from what MeMa Jo said earlier I can imagine Belle saying You three stop that flapping and sit down and fold your wings but if she said "Don't give me no static!!!!" That part didn't work.
Bless you, Wanda, and you too, Nature Nut. Yes, I have an inkling ... and my sister sent me a really great ecard last night ... maybe the best I've seen.
It's a hand puppet singing "I like cake" in an operatic style ... "Figaro," I think.
Thank you very much, Lolly. I am actually sitting here (on my new, replacement, refund-paid for, task chair) feeling younger and younger thanks to you people.
Tidbit from late nite browsing....on the Norway Sea Eagle "home" page, there is on the right of the 1 minute refresh cam a new pic of adult in tree next to nest.If you double click, it opens their pic (bilder) gallery & 7 beautiful shots w/that one from May (mai) 28 & 29.Chicks, adult, & feeding. Never knew that before---either learning Norwegian or developing better 'puter skills!LOL (wish they could move cam a tad left)
We may be watching this mid June because our babies may have all fledged by then. Of course we'll be glued to our nest just wanting to see them come back after a good day's fishing lessons!!!
Thx for that hatch date, Jo. I was wondering about it.(Forgot incu length) BTW, shouldn't the Fin Ferry ospreys be hatching soon? Seems she's been sitting forever!
Larry on Loon said maybe middle of next week for their eggs.
YUMMM, Deb. Beeping on TV---severe thunderstorm warnings-DC area & TORNADO 402(?) WATCH 'til 5 PM. Worst storms w/hail will be a little North of me---look out Helen's home area.
LOL... the plants and I got plenty of water at mkt. this morning. And the ones put into the ground this week are enjoying this rain. A little heavy at times, but we needed it.
I got an email from CANDY. She is doing well, just can't get on the 'puter much because her son is home right now and uses it quite a bit. She can't come for our 7th visit but might at a later date. She will be back on line with us when school lets out nesxt weekend.
That tornado watch that is being given right now is also in Jefferson County, which is where ou nest is. Batten down the hatches NCTC. Those warnings usually pass by safely, but we need to be alert and prepared.
Costume Lady, I remember the tornado in the Inwood area a few years ago, it was pretty ravaging, and about ten years ago, one moved through Hedgesville and tore apart one house and threw a lot of stuff around, trees and debris. Things go whacky at the 911 Center during these times. Just canceled out of my church ministry in case I get called in early here due to "tornado watch." Sometimes we get calls from cell phones from all over: Kearneysville, Boonsboro, and even Keyser! Just depends on what towers the cell phones hit. I hear power is out in many places in Jefferson County. Be Careful Everyone...
mema jo - you did get my email about my coming for the nest visit on the 7th, right? I have been down there for birdwatching on and off Eagle season for the last two years, have seen a nice orchard oriole, and a purple finch (a true purple finch), plus there is a pond with wood ducks. And so much more.
Miss Jo, I would go to the nest in-between Momster Visits, but I don't know how to get access to the area. Do you have to clear it with someone before you go to the gate?
Magpie - got your email from Paula & I have you on the list. I'll be sending some info beginning of week as to time & place to get together.
Wanda - When I went down yesterday, Faith at the gift shop had called to the gate for me to enter. However, I know of people getting access with no prior arrangement just by saying the password Eagle! lol And of course it would depend on the guard. When the Eagle Express goes in on the 7th - they told me to mention on the list beside your name that it was an RV. Need to be in touch with you BUT I will call-I have your number.
I have been fortunate. Yes, you do have to get clearance at the gate....I have only been on quiet week-ends when no activities are going on. Last visit was last fall, and it's possible things have changed since then.
Magpie, we were all down there on Oct. 20 during the Open House. Were you there that day? That was my first time at the Open House; it was WONDERFUL. I loved everything that they had to show and offer.
Magpie--we had a nasty tornado about three yrs. ago just across the Morgan Co. line on Rt. 9. Can still see tree damage in that area! Too close for comfort (I'm off Rustic Tavern Rd.).
costume lady, I didn't make it to the open house, I was probably working! I was an EMT Instructor for years and did some teaching at NCTC - the place is truly awesome! Another couple of nice places to go birdwatching and wildflower looking is the Fish Hatchery in Leetown, and the Fish Disease Research Center across the street from it in Leetown...good for herons, waxwings, and other things. Maybe we can set up some field trips. Have a good day everyone! Hope no one had any damage or problems with the weather.
hedgesviller - I have family in Morgan County and spend a lot of time up there, have been hearing whip-poor-wills up there, and have seen a flock of 20 turkeys. I always experience great wildlife up there. Went to Cacapon State Park last week on a field trip with the grandson. Wow! Yeah, too close for comfort with that tornado. I lived in Hedgesville for years and ran with the rescue squad/fire department for a long time, but have a worn out body now and cannot do much of that anymore...but it is close to my heart, always. Take Care.
Good evening all! I have sound but no pic. Getting ready to head to Pipestem State Park for a concert featuring my baby on drums! :) East River Mountain Town Band will be backing him up! Sounds good, don't it? Anyway, I hope everybody has a wonderful evening1
Wow- the sun came out and it is very warm and humid. Lots of wing flapping- one flew all the way across the nest, the other two are trying to stay out of its way.
Mom came in and tried to get the fish away from Pearl (I guess to feed all eaglets) but Pearl won that round. So Mom is now cleaning house. Eaglets are really sounding their dissappointment that Mom has no food for ALL of them.
I love to watch the battle between Belle and Pearl over food brought in. Mom wants to share, Pearl absolutly does not! Mom usually wins that battle. She is one cool Mama!

Thanks Steve, have a great weekend!
Morning, Wanda!
Our eaglets haven't been fed yet. I hope they get their tummies full before the storm comes.
Parent came earlier without breakfast. Maybe saw they had no leftovers, and went for a nice big juicy fish.
Good Morning, Paula. It looks like our storm isn't far away.
Jo's account of her visit to the nest has made me very anxious for next Saturday to get here. I want to see ALL three in the nest too!
I was reminding Magpie earlier, that we have had a few tornados in our area. They are saying it is a possibility today, so keep a watch out.
Someone keeps calling out for breakfast!~
Parent and eaglet at BWE
Eagelt mantling at BWE, second eaglet has arrived...
Think I hear thunder here
Storms are arriving earlier than they said.
Happy Birthday to Jim. Have a great one. Morning Wanda and Paula. Think we will be getting storms here today. Have seen a few tornadoes in the Baltimore area in my life time. Only about 2. Very scary.

Must be a parent above the nest...they keep looking up and calling out.
Wow, flying above the cam in the nest
Sounds like rain on the nest. Not here yet, but lightning just struck tree here.
The oldest just lifted away from the nest and then floated back...
WOW big thunder crash!
Okay, it is storming in S-town and instead of the babies hunkering down, they are flapping all over the daggone place. My heart cannot take this!
LOL -crazy eaglets!
Good morning, everyone. That is quite a storm going on there.
Wow. They are really trying to stay in the nest. Holding on for dear life.
Good Morning... I see the cam is messing up a bit (haven't read any of your comments yet) I just needed to be able to count 1, 2 3 in the nest. They all seem to have wings in motion. They sure could knock one another out of there!
Steve - any parents nearby?
What a show and I am ready to call 911. They have got to be wore slam out! I am just watching them.
oh geeesh...You who are there please keep letting us know what is happening in the area..
Good Steve is there watching live feed which means if one of our guys gets blown out of there I don't have to jump in the car for resuce because Steve Will Do It!
Storm has not come over the mountain yet to my valley.........

Steve are you at NCTC or at home. Tell us you can be there quick if they need you. Argh!!!

Glo, Thx for that video! Amazing Spunky stayed in the nest!

Rain has stopped here -
Wow I have been here engrossed with the nest - now I guess it is time to grab the bowl of cheerios!
Thanks, Glo for putting Spunky's Storm on here!
BBILW
Finally fixing breakfast here also.
well they are surely wet but otherwise they look to be fine.
Those are 3 wet eaglets!
I made tea and got a muffin bar. Comfort food.
I can finally get our nest back into view (sorta) and the eaglets are soaked, and hungry. Wonder where Mom & Dad are?
Still raining here....but I am a bit farther north of you, Jo
Mom and Dad made a couple of food drops an hour or so before the storm started Wanda.
GOOD MORNING, EVERYBODY.

Jim
I guess it's the wind playing havoc with my live feed and the 30 sec cam too.
It clears pretty well for a time and then it's nothing but "noise" streaking the screen.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
Somebody said they didn't see the BWE eaglets all day yesterday... The younger one is on the nest now.
C(°ï®¡°)D

We all wish you a VERY HAPPY DAY!!! Do what you want, when you want, and how you want!!
Oh, no!!!! Just got on. This is terrible!
Mission control! Mission control! We have a slight problem!
Three birds, I can count them 1, 2, 3!!!!
LOLLY, Mission Control is in your part of the country (maybe a little south of you), do you have any pull with them? COMCAST IS THE PITS!
I remember Spunky's ordeal too, the poor little guy.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
I had a good picture for about a minute, then it went away.
Afraid not! Sorry! Jack does a little consulting work with NASA, but that won't work! Sorry!
Tlose little birdies need seat belts!
crazy cam here, can't hardly see a thing
Just heard from Mits. She said to say Hi and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JIM. Told her about the storm and that it is headed her way. She might be holding on to the tent and flapping her wings.
I think they say rain on the bride is a sign of good luck...
Wax :)
Pic finally back...looks like trying to work on nestovers in the the middle of the nest.
Good morning and thanks back to you, Mits.
You guys are actually making me feel younger ... I can use it too.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
Now at 11, 1 and 6 in the nest
Well from what MeMa Jo said earlier I can imagine Belle saying You three stop that flapping and sit down and fold your wings but if she said "Don't give me no static!!!!" That part didn't work.
Happy Birthday Jim!!! If birthday wishes make you feel younger, great!!! Many wishes coming your way!
Can't watch our cam....went to light a candle for Buddy.
Will do Jim. BBL
Poop shoot...and a scratch!
Look like they've shaken off some of those raindrops!
Seems to be calming down. Heard birds singing. Now to dry out!!
Bless you, Wanda, and you too, Nature Nut. Yes, I have an inkling ... and my sister sent me a really great ecard last night ... maybe the best I've seen.
It's a hand puppet singing "I like cake" in an operatic style ... "Figaro," I think.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
Thank you very much, Lolly. I am actually sitting here (on my new, replacement, refund-paid for, task chair) feeling younger and younger thanks to you people.
Hope I don't start sucking my thumb.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
Eaglet working on nestovers in the middle...other 2 are at 1 and 7, preening.
I meant "rebate" instead of "refund" in this case.
I think I've spent all the rebate and am starting on the modest refund I got from the tax man.
It should help prime the economy, but I think another $600 would help it even more. Hahaha.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
Pic and sound much cleared up...can hear hammering
Looking at some of the other cams now that this storm has passed.
LOL laughing at Lisa's comments on the BWO about the one legged osprey!
We really thought that last season & made a big to do out of it!!! lol
Does anyone remember the count of eggs in the Wild Watch Blue Bird nest.
I see 3 now but I thought there were more........ maybe it was another nest!
Never knew that before---either learning Norwegian or developing better 'puter skills!LOL
(wish they could move cam a tad left)
WOW I saw a sailboat in Finland out where the ferry travels!
Osprey is (was) on the nest.
Watched Isla's little chick climb right up out of the egg cup!
Both adults in nest with CT chicks.
Loon is nesting on those 2 eggs.
Another Wood Duck is incubating about a doz eggs. It looks as if this female began incubation on May 19th. This puts the tentative hatch date sometime around June 18th!
We may be watching this mid June because our babies may have all fledged by then. Of course we'll be glued to our nest just wanting to
see them come back after a good day's fishing lessons!!!
Thx for that hatch date, Jo. I was wondering about it.(Forgot incu length) BTW, shouldn't the Fin Ferry ospreys be hatching soon? Seems she's been sitting forever!
Larry on Loon said maybe middle of next week for their eggs.
Gotta get some chores done BBL
Grandson bumping me off 'puter for
a while! You know the feeling, Wanda!
I am off to SF for Ribfest, ribs and music. BBL
Yes, Jo. I do know about those grandsons...it is my pleasure to let them takeover. So grateful to have grandchildren. Aren't we all!
UMMMM! Have fun, Deb.
YUMMM, Deb.

It looks like the keepers have unloaded a smallish patch of "snow" in ZZ's enclosure again this morning.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
HEY JIM, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Thanks, Megan.
Do you think your plantings are maybe getting enough water today?
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
LOL... the plants and I got plenty of water at mkt. this morning.

Magpie - which 911 center do you report to?
I hope Helen's wedding gets completed and that an inside area is available to them. Would hate to have my cake taken out by High Winds!
mema jo - I am with the 911 Center in Berkeley Co, WV, Martinsburg, been there for 20 years. We do fire, police and ambulance dispatching.
mema jo - you did get my email about my coming for the nest visit on the 7th, right? I have been down there for birdwatching on and off Eagle season for the last two years, have seen a nice orchard oriole, and a purple finch (a true purple finch), plus there is a pond with wood ducks. And so much more.
Magpie, is that all down where our nest area is?
Miss Jo, I would go to the nest in-between Momster Visits, but I don't know how to get access to the area. Do you have to clear it with someone before you go to the gate?

Whoo'da thunk it? Saanich eagles have 3 eaglets this year. Photo and link to video from Harry Milt

Not sure if any food, parent flew up into the tree
I don't think so from the sounds of it..they were calling to parent in tree, then stopped. Maybe parent flew off?
Still a few calls
Good evening all! I have sound but no pic. Getting ready to head to Pipestem State Park for a concert featuring my baby on drums! :) East River Mountain Town Band will be backing him up! Sounds good, don't it? Anyway, I hope everybody has a wonderful evening1
Kids jumping around and peeping...maybe parent still in the tree.
I can hear a car horn every once in awhile!
Well, one kid was jumping around peeping, the other 2 are at 12 and 6
Have fun Sharon. Hope your pic comes back...maybe a restart needed? Pic is good here
Hey Jim, Happy Happy Birthday to you!!!Hope you are having a wonderful day and enjoy whatever makes you happiest today!
!!!!!HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM!!!!!
Im out too-must not be living right :)
Flight Practice time...
Wow- the sun came out and it is very warm and humid. Lots of wing flapping- one flew all the way across the nest, the other two are trying to stay out of its way.
Dinner has arrived!
For one eaglet, at least!
Lib just dropped in, but I don't see any food. Oh, yes, there must be. Pearl and Middy are both manteling it.
Pearl has the fish and Middy keeps trying to sneak a bite, but Pearl is not sharing one little bite. Oh, no,no, no.
Mom came in and tried to get the fish away from Pearl (I guess to feed all eaglets) but Pearl won that round. So Mom is now cleaning house. Eaglets are really sounding their dissappointment that Mom has no food for ALL of them.
OK, Mom has the fish now, and guess who is getting fed? Pearl is a real Piggy!
Hi Wanda! Just came in. Glad to see the sun is out and food in the nest. They look a little dryer that the last time I looked.
Sounds like someone using a staple gun. Wonder if some shingles blew away?!
Now I hear an electric saw!
Mom still in nest. She's been chowing down and feeding some to the eaglets.
Parent at the far end feeding eaglets!
Heard sqealing again from the kitchen! Same visit? Guess other 2 are telling they're hungry!
Yeah, same visit. Mom has been there a long time. She was really hungry as she chowed down for some time. Once had her back to the eaglets.
LOL, heard the chirping and had to post! I see it was well covered! Going out to put the chicken on the grill!
Mom just left. She was there for quite some time.
Wind or thunder that I hear?
Blogger ate all my stuff & it wasn't 3 pages long!
Thought I heard a little thunder boomer amidst the sawwing and banging.
BBL Dinner ready
I love to watch the battle between Belle and Pearl over food brought in. Mom wants to share, Pearl absolutly does not! Mom usually wins that battle. She is one cool Mama!
No rain or thunder here, three miles away (yet).
Thanks for identifying that noise - staple gun. I was calling it chopping all day
Air starting to cool here...nice breeze!
I've returned from Mass - Weather seems to be holding up well
Saw new leaf floor in the nest.
Entire family is there now...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM!!!! I can't sing, so I'll just send good wishes.
Parent back, kids are screaming
One must have left, I only saw one.
I could only see 2 kids and an adult
I bet our 3rd kid best stop hiding
down under the camera......
Heart failure.............
SPLIT
