And Hey, you are #1, Barbara, congrats!

NOW KNOW WHY WE COULD NOT GET INTO COMCAST TODAY......
Comcast.net site is hacked briefly posted 12:23 pm Thu May 29, 2008 - NEW YORK

Hackers took over and defaced Comcast Corp. s Web portal for several hours overnight, leaving a cryptic message on the site that the company's 14.1 million subscribers use to access e-mail, news and technical support. The front page of Comcast.net went down shortly before 11 p.m. EDT Wednesday and was replaced with a note saying the hackers had "RoXed" Comcast, according to postings at BroadbandReports.com. Comcast spokeswoman Jennifer Khoury said late Thursday morning that the hijacking had been reversed, but some users were still unable to access Comcast.net and Web-based e-mail.

There was no indication that e-mail or other private information was compromised by the attack, Comcast said.

The hackers appeared to have seized control of the Comcast.net domain name at registrar Network Solutions Inc. and redirected it to other servers, Khoury said.

"We have alerted law enforcement authorities and are working in conjunction with them," Khoury said.

Hi & Welcome Barbara

I am not so sure that Pearl is going to stick around the nest until we get there on the 7th! She is certainly moving a lot today - I just wish she would settle down & wait for us to get there!!

Email from Suz today saying that life is horrible & she misses us sooooooo much & to be sure each of you knows that!

NatureNut said...

Heard the noise & had to come back.
What was that? Fish for 1?

NatureNut said...

Heard big screaming. Wonder what that 3rd food drop was? At first 2 turned their backs--1 played w/stick. Then parent started sharing, so all got interested!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Of course we are #1!! We have 2 awesome parents and 3 awesome eaglets - with that combination, they cannot resist! :)

Lolly said...

Thanks Jo for the video. It was great!

NatureNut said...

My gosh, one just sneezed again, don't know if it's the snorting one that was at 6 o'clock. Hope there's no resp. problems :-(

MITS said...

maybe allergic to fish:)

deb said...

I was reading Larry's Loon Log and there was a boat close to the loon nest yesterday. He finally went and asked them to leave. If you see the loon shaking its head or rubbing its head on its back, it is probably a black fly that only survives on loon blood. The loon will catch the flies and eat them.

Costume Lady said...

Helen, I thought the sound was like a snort also. Do birds get distemper? Or could it be a Pant?

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I am going to say it was a feather up their nose!

T-Bird said...

Good evening everyone. Looking forward to next weekend-seems like a lifetime ago when we last partied. Really can't wait to introduce you fine folk to Buddy (the basset hound).

Lolly said...

Ok, got off and got back on and they are moving now. Guess my computer was acting up!

T-Bird said...

the eaglets seem to be really restless this evening

MITS said...

T-Bird said...

I thought you loved me!!!???

T-Bird said...

can't trust you for a minute-okay im done bitching

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I can tell you all that if these eaglets are like our first 3, this wing flapping is not the way they fledge. They take their time getting up the nerve to leave that nest!

T-Bird said...

later

MITS said...

yeah these guys seem ready for action...

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

AND I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A DOLLAR FOR EVERY TIME I HAVE TO RESTART THE REAL PLAYER IN A DAY!

deb said...

I am in Southeast SD, Loretta. (5 miles to Nebraska, 15 miles to Iowa) So far nothing here. There are confirmed tornadoes on the ground, lots of hail, rain and lightening about 45 miles west of here. That is not the storm that will come here. No reports of damage yet. I am watching the one that is still in Nebraska, that is the one that would probably hit me. I am ready, radio and purse at the top of the stairs.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Boy, I sounded like a real know-it-all. I DON'T!! :)

Costume Lady said...

Before you go Thelma, Glad you are coming the Nest with Sharon. We will have fun again!

wvgal_dana said...

later everyone all tc

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

They are thinking they need to tidy up the nest a little bit and then Mom might bring them a big fish!

MITS said...

parent flew in with food

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Tidying up worked!! Big ole fish in the sycamore tree!

MITS said...

it was funny, when parent brought it in, all 3 sorta looked at it, and then one grabbed it all for its own

MITS said...

OK, Sharon, what is up with frontier-net..just sent an email to you and Cindi...and it came back permanent failure???????

deb said...

Sirens are going off, but I don't think it is a tornado, must be a fire. That is the bad thing with volunteer fire department and storms. Ok, they shut off already, so must be a fire somewhere.

MITS said...

lol....parent stole fish from chick

MITS said...

aww, but parent is sharing

Costume Lady said...

Well, I guess Mom showed them who's BOSS.

Mema Jo said...

I've returned! Did anyone find where Norma's yard went? She is really going to be p=##@% when she opens the back door and finds that it is GONE

Such chirping sounds... I would love to know if it is the adult or the eaglets..

Take Care DEB! Do you mean that your purse is at the top of the CELLAR STEPS?

Costume Lady said...

Those are Wild and Wonderful Parents, Helen.

paula eagleholic said...

All that peeping is fom the kids, Jo

Could hear them upstairs while I was eating dinner...twice!

Geese just went by

Costume Lady said...

Jo, I don't think Norma has a clue what we are talking about. Hope she doesn't get mad at us and use her cane. LOL

MITS said...

lol.....I'm still laughing at Norma's' lawn missing, she probably thinks it is RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY:):):)

Costume Lady said...

I think Mom made a sort of growling sound when she pulled the fish away. You go girl!

Costume Lady said...

That is 3 or 4 Fishes called Wanda this afternoon and evening.

MITS said...

If you look at FINNY'S NEST to the left in the woods, big bird with a white head...

Mema Jo said...

RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY:):):)
Good one MITS....

Thanks Paula - I thought it was but I wasn't certain. I just love it!

Hello T-Bird and glad to see Buddy!

paula eagleholic said...

LOL, I had to reread Norma's post at first to find out what ya'll where talking about at first!

Parent gone...chicks stopped their peeping

Parent arrived right before 6 this evening also...don't know if it brought food then or not

paula eagleholic said...

LOl forgot to publish that last comment

paula eagleholic said...

Lib sure was on a roll fishing today!

NatureNut said...

Mits, You're on a roll today. Must have been that vacation or have you had some of Chrissy's pills?? LOL

Mema Jo said...

Wanda - less you forget - WE both have canes!!

Costume Lady said...

Loretta, Mits has always been on a roll. She is Wild and Wonderful and we are just now finding that out!

MITS said...

I don't think the pills that I take would affect me to much....must have been the ocean air...:)

Costume Lady said...

Hey, right, Jo. How can I forget. I used that cane to scare away snakes and scorpions on our trip.

paula eagleholic said...

LOL, I think that was belle that came back and stole the fish back from the eaglet, then shared it.

MITS said...

NORMA, BABY....when you come back on, we kid, because we love:)

MITS said...

for those of you who have never met Norma....she is a teeny tiny lady....and I can just see her with her cain, looking for her lawn.

ceil said...

I wonder where Chrissy is? Hope she is feeling better. Have they found Norma's lawn yet? LOL

MITS said...

ok, what I thought was poosibly and eagle at Finny's site in the woods, probably is not cause it ain't moving....like Norma's lawn:)

ceil said...

Helen, Norma's lawn did move.

Lolly said...

I think you are all wild and wonderful!! I wanna be there on the 7th!!! And, quit picking on poor Norma.....I moved my yard today too. LOL And, Deb, well she moves all the time!

Mema Jo said...

Well Lolly you & Jack best plan a trip up to WV in OCT!
You know with all that hard work & time that you put into your lawn I am so sorry to here that it moved lol

ceil said...

Hope the weather clears up at Deb's or her lawn may actually move.

Mema Jo said...

We need to all pray that DEB'S lawn
does NOT get moved - with all those storms....... Stay Safe Deb!

ceil said...

Hope everyone has a good night. Talk tomorrow.

Lolly said...

well, I have planted that thought in his head! I have to be here right now for graduation. One of my former students is valedictorian. So proud of her!

MITS: Does Rumney have anything to

do with Rumsey...... I can't find

the zip code for RUMNEY.... They

are never going to find the Yard

if they don't know the Zip. There

Mema Jo said...

Thanks Paula for that Info...

Mema Jo said...

Impressive that there are people from 5 different countries recognizing Buddy! What a bonding!

paula eagleholic said...

PH eaglets are doing good, last we heard. Skye is eating good and so is Spirit. Spirit will probably go back to the island next week? He will be placed in the hacking tower.

Mema Jo said...

I am hoping we soon get a Robin Fledge Update from Iris. I've been thinking about them..

Lolly said...

Thanks Paula! Five countries! WOW!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Well, I left for an hour and you all had a million posts on here. Getting ready for bed now.

Good night and sweet eagle dreams, my friends of fine feather and fur!

Lolly said...

Nite Sharon!

deb said...

The storm is over and my lawn didn't move, although I was a little worried there for awhile. We got wind, rain, hail and lots of lightening. I unplugged computer, etc.

The town of Centerville, SD, (24 miles north of me) is shut down. No travel in or out, we are still waiting on damage reports. We do know power lines are down and they are live. I hope that is the worst of it. 4 tornadoes sighted there, but don't know if any touched down. (950 people in Centerville)

MITS said...

no wonder they can't find her lawn....lol!!

Lolly said...

Glad you are okay, Deb. Prayers for those who are not! We seem to be out of the storms for a while. Scary!

MITS said...

well good night everyone....got some things to do and packing up and leaving for Annapolis tomorrow afternoon for the weekend wedding...nite!

Lolly said...

Poor Norma!

Lolly said...

Nite Mits! You give Norma a hard time and then head for the hills. Shame! LOL

Costume Lady said...

GOOD NIGHT SHARON & HELEN.

deb said...

Yes, Jo, my purse was at the top of the basement stairs, but I didn't go down, I usually don't. It was a weird storm, you could hear the wind up above us and see the clouds swirling, but no wind below to speak of.

Lolly said...

I am watching the storks. There are only two. What happened to the others?, or maybe I do not want to know.

Costume Lady said...

It's Helen's fault that Norma's lawn can't be found. She gave out the wrong town to the Lawn Service.

paula eagleholic said...

Lolly, I think I heard the disease was back...someone please correct me if I am wrong.

deb said...

I noticed that earlier, Lolly, that two of the storks are missing. I went to the website to check and they named all 4 of them this week.

Lolly said...

Disease? There has been something wiping out storks?

deb said...

I found where one chick (Afra, the youngest) died around noon on the 25th, Bree (the second oldest chick) died at about 5:00 p.m. and was thrown out of the nest. The cause of death is still unknown.

Lolly said...

Well, I guess it is a good thing I was not watching that cam.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Is the stork cam you all are watching the same one that Hugo was in last year?

Lolly said...

Can't answer that,Sharon. I was not watching last year.

Mema Jo said...

I really had not started to watch the storks ever since the other year when little Hugo died (probably same disease) Broke my heart..

Deb I am thankful the storms are over for you now. That can be so scary!
The storms near the ocean freak me out.. But I do like watching the lightning at a far distance.

paula eagleholic said...

I was looking at CHIL forum...can't find the info I read...

paula eagleholic said...

About the storks

MITS said...

I be da#@%&.....they died in Hugo's nest!!!!!!...somebody hold me back....I'm going to take Norma's lawn over there and dump it on them!!!!!!! I think if you go onto their site, you might find out the story of Little Hugo from 2 years ago...

NatureNut said...

Thx Paula for Buddy candle.
Saw some weather & showed your area, Deb, in the "moderate" range!
Hope everyone is OK elsewhere.

BTW, we have good friends, now back home in Paw Paw, WV. Amazingly, today their LAWN sprang up like Jack and the Beanstalk!!!!

deb said...

The two chicks were both wheezing from what I read on the Maine forum. Sounds like the same thing Hugo had from the way they were talking. News is on, BBL.

NatureNut said...

I hadn't seen other posts about storks. I had been reading alot today about avian pox and saw that MANY species are susceptible to lots of different illnesses. Storks were mentioned, but I don't remember which disease. Will go back & look.

paula eagleholic said...

The stork diease is something like asperilla ? aspergilla ?

Lolly said...

Caught the ferry....that's my signal to clear out of here. See you tomorrow!! Sweet dreams!

paula eagleholic said...

Gnite all!

deb said...

Luckily for Centerville, SD, only trees and power lines down. 80 mile an hour winds hit, not a tornado. I am sure shingles are missing, too, but they are easily replaced.

Costume Lady said...

Loretta, are you saying that you think Norma's lawn ended up in Paw Paw?

deb said...

Night, everyone.

NatureNut said...

@S&%(XXX Couldn't get on this page.
Checked Stork news for '06 and Hugo succumbed to Aspergillosis.
No new news for '08.
Might check their forum.

NatureNut said...

Wanda Fish, It could be there!!!
LOL
Are we bad?

magpie said...

Watching the white stork nest now. Parent standing over babies. I'm very worried, only see movement from one. All that constant cheeping, is it from sparrows or something? Just saw a little bird like a sparrow on the bottom edge of the nest. And what is going whoo-whoo who who so often? I was watching late overnight last night and saw a beautiful exchange take place between the two adults, and the two chicks were active then. Something is very somber about this.

magpie said...

Okay, my heart is beating again. Second stork chick finally raised its head and is making some noise. Time was definitely standing still for awhile.

NatureNut said...

Been reading the stork forum. No official diagnosis about the chicks' deaths. The one was consumed by Cico and 2nd one thrown from nest by parents---5-25.
2 days prior, one chick consumed a snake & one a frog.Don't know if either of them were one's that died. Some people thought the frog was too big to go all the way down. But I think it would have choked immediately, not 2 days later.Of the 2 left, on one day, 5-25, folks were alarmed that one seemed lethargic, but since then they have appeared normal and growing.
Would like to know if they could have retrieved the one and studied it for cause of death.
Understand that whatever happens, people don't intervene (like Meerkats). :>(

NatureNut said...

Sorry for the tome!
Those little chirpers are all the other songbirds around---love to see some perch in bottom of nest.
Think the whoos might be doves.
That's the noisiest site next to Isla, Scottish osprey!

Gotta Go
Good Night Everyone, Feather Dreams

magpie said...

naturenut, that's helpful. Thanks. Yes, those birds are chirpie all right. I have seen several little sparrow-like birds come in and out of the bottom of the nest for the last hour. Time for Sleep! I like that, feather dreams!

Pearl, Middie and Spunky are probably having food dreams!
