I just looked for new thread:)....GOOD MORNING AGAIN EVERYONE, THANKS SHARON FOR HEADS UP...Okie cam sunrise and cardinals....love that loon cam...going to chek on eagles now
The little shift in the camera angle would have been good if one of the eaglets had chosen the hiding spot by the tree to hang out in but they hang out at Spunky's/Liberty's perch most of the time and we can't see them! Well, we can see their butts!

Blogger ate my comment. Morning Wanda. Mits dog is not behaving at night. He is sleeping right now. I am going to take him for a walk. Lizard is fine so far. Friends will be home tomorrow. BBL
Our only pets are fish and plants. When we were away on our Western trip, I gave the fish one of those weekend feeders compacted into SHELL FORM (a giant one) and watered the plants to over-flowing. After being gone for a month, everything was still thriving. Can't do that with a cat or dog (or Lizard).
Do you all remember when Spunky was practicing with his wings and went down over the edge of the nest and held onto the side and then jumped back up! Like - OOPS!
good morning, everybody. Have been on other computer for the last 3 hours, will have to go back and see what I missed. Loon is off the 2 eggs, did see that. Ok, gonna go catch up.
Good Morning, Everyone! I have a general question. I have heard "branching" mentioned. Am I correct in assuming that they will jump to nearby branches before actually attempting flight?
Also, (again assuming Spunky is Liberty), he almost fell out of the nest? I bet that nearly scared you all to death. I'd be in tears.
Melvsmom - Spunky was the runt of the litter in our first year watching. He fledged on Flag Day. Closer to time to fledge, there will be less food but I don't think we are close enough quite yet.
Morning, Sharon, Helen and Ceil. And Wanda, from the other page. Phew, had to put out some fires. Heck of a noete when they start so early, but nobody else is here usually. So mission accomplished, can breathe now. NBG is getting fed, and I guess Intrepid has been in and out earlier this morning, but both in nest now. Was a woodpecker on the suet feeder in OKie. Our kids were doing some serious wing flaps earlier. Egg turning in Scotland. Darn, loon eggs still uncovered. It's been about 5 minutes or so I think. Well, all have a great day.
Still a wee bit early for branching. That's where they do their first "flights" to very nearby branches, and return to the nest. A loon is out on the water near the nest, just swimming slowly back to her eggs.
Check out the PA babies, looks like one found something to eat and by golly, got it down! But it looked like 2 were sitting side by side singing to each other. Till the one found the food scrap, too funny. Anyone heard from Norma lately? She had election stuff Tues, and yesterday was her study group, but don't know where she is today.
We need to look up some videos of our first loved trio in the nest 2 seasons' ago for some of our newbys to view. I didn't even consider that Branching was a new word - Bad Mema Jo! I'll find some Debbie!
NORMA - where are you today? I realize she was at the polls & then at Study Group - don't know why she isn't here yet this am hour. Hope she pops in shortly.
I am out of here until late afternoon hour. Hold down the fort!
This has been such an education for me. I can't remember having more fun on the computer.
It has actually inspired me. My husband has encouraged me in the past to go back to school. I think it might be fun to go back and study animals. Any suggestions from anyone? I know nothing about a course of study.
Thanks for the info you provide. The people I'm working with right now get a kick out of my oohs and aahs when something happens. Several even stop by several times a day to watch and catch up.

Whoa, boom. Just brought the loon cam up and bam, right in the water she went. How very cool. Eggs are shining in the sun. Meal time is over for PA kids.
Had to leave for a while. Wanda if you are still here. No crickets this time for the lizard. One time fed it crickets and most of them somehow got out in the house. I told Suzanne I am afraid of the lizard but don't tell him. Right now he is laying over his water bowl. No clean water until he moves. Have to leave again. Have a small garden and flowers that did not get planted before the rain. Have a good day everyone. Hi Norma and Jim.

I hope everyone is well. I have not been here in a while as my life has been taking many turns, mostly good but has been keeping me busy.
My daughter Tori to those of you that know her is back in children's hopsital in DC, I am asking for prayers for her. She was admitted yesterday after a few tests she gets every 2 mths.
I know the power that comes from this group that I have never witnessed anywhere before, so I know all your prayers, thoughts, hopes will be strong enough for a miracle to happen.
Her email is Torshi831@aim.com
she should have a laptop sometime this day,
Thank you.
OH! Our babies got so big, I was watching them sunday they were soaked but ater I was able to catch them flexing their wings :). Last time I saw them they were so tiny.
Yes, Robyn, I met your lovely Tori last year on the nest trip. Will definitely be praying for her. I pray all goes well. AND, THE POWER OF THE PRAYER THAT COMES OUT OF THIS GROUP IS SOMETHING I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED BEFORE EITHER. TOTALLY AMAZING AND SUCH A BLESSING FOR THOSE OF US INVOLVED!
Well Hello, Norma. Glad to see you made it to the blog today! We missed you. Yes, love the loon cam, and she just slides in and out of the water, too cool. Hi again, Ceil. Shhh, lizard isn't lurking on the blog, is he? Robyn, hi, and I hope Tori is going to be alright. I will pray for her. It's not the same thing as last time, is it? In any case, it's good to see you on the blog again!
MORNIN' ROBIN!!---I am so SORRY that TORI is back in hospital!!--Give her my best---Will keep her in my thoughts & prayers---GOD BLESS!!----we have missed you---
Good morning all....Robyn, Suz, Sharon, Norma, Ceil and anyone I missed. Read where Jo will be gone til later.
Suz, I love getting on in the morning and reading your descriptions of the cams. This morning I could really picture the Scotland cam. Thanks!
Won't be on much in the next few days. Today going to mow and then head to my daughters....tonight is Joseph's first grade program. Can't miss that!
And, speaking of prayer, I could use a little tomorrow. PLEASE! Having a little out patient surgery in the morning. Having a cataract removed. So, like I said, I will not be on much in the next few days.
Hi Everyone...Quick note before work; Robyn, thoughts and prayers for your daughter.
My bird expert at the Park has IDed Deb's bird as an immature Krider's red-tail, found in the mid-West and prairie states. No word on the ospreys there yet. BBL
ROBYN...You will have all our prayers til Tori is well and back home again. Please keep us posted on her condition...you know how much we care about her and YOU. How is your back doing?
You know, we all get very sad when we think of the nests that didn't do well this year, but when I look at NBG, I really feel good! What a neat family! And, that spoiled little one is growing soooo fast!
Lolly, my Mom had that surgery a few years ago and it was a breeze. They slightly sedate you and your eye is so numb, you feel nothing. No soreness or pain. But it is OK to be aprehensive...that is normal.
Lolly, I seem to vaguely remember that storks do do some kind of work with babies! :) Mom had cataract surgery on both eyes and had absolutely no problems. You will be the same way!!
Lolly, glad you enjoy the comments. My sister had that done as young as she is, and her vision is better than 20/20 now. Think she told me 20/40, but I personally, don't really know what that means. But it does mean she can see better than I can! She has to have her 2nd eye done also, but then she won't need glasses any longer. She's looking forward to that! You'll be in my prayers. Hi Dave, how's your eaglets? Naturenut, thanks for the info on Deb's unknown bird! Sure is pretty! Phew, back to it for a few more minutes. Busy day, can't wait to go home and maybe take a power nap... or something!
Lolly I have cataracts and when they first started doctor said they were so slow and he almost said you will be gone before they can come off. This time he said they are growing fast. Will dread going through surgery. You will be in my prayers. Robyn so sorry to hear about Tori. She was doing so well. Hard when your child is sick and you cannot help. I believe so much in the power of prayer.
MORNIN' INDIANA DAVE!!---Haven't heard from you in a while---I have been off a couple of days too!!---GORGEOUS DAY here in WV---SUN IS SHINING & our EAGLETS are growing--Fun to watch---LIFE IS GOOD!!---ENJOY THIS DAY!
Oh, butterfly right on cam in OKIE, and woodpecker still eating suet. NBG eaglet talking to mom, too cute. Loon on eggs in the sun, they sure are pretty. Ok, time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Thanks, Norma, just saw your note. Lady G is gonna get a partial haircut this afternoon, but she doesn't know it yet. I'm sitting on the couch with my scissors, so when she arrives to sit on my lap, I'll be ready. She has a clump of hair that's gotta go before it really becomes a mat. She's not gonna like that! But she'll get over it, I think.
Hi, everyone. I hit the yard bright and early to beat the rain and it still hasn't started. Maybe the weatherman will be wrong. I have also been to the green house and the grocery store. With my tree gone I need sun plants instead of shade plants.
Thanks, NN on my bird ID. I read about that one last night and wondered if that might be why the coloring was so different.
I am thinkin very strongly about going down to the nest and throwing up a few fish. Those poor babies have never been neglected like this before... hope Lib & Belle are alright.
Hi suzanne, ane normabyrd, The eaglets are doing fine and there is still three and they are feeding themselves as mom and dad keep bringing in more food, and normabyrd i was on vacation for the past two weeks and took lots of photos of some wildlife.I have some posted. You all have a great day.
Sharon, one parent brought in leaves yesterday. Talk about some disappointed babies. But eventually one of them picked up the leaves and rearranged them for a while. Maybe it's a lesson in nestorations or nestkeeping.
GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYONE! My goodness, it's been a long time since I've been on here! Even though I haven't blogged on here in a while, I am still keeping tabs on our eagles. Boy I've missed you all. I'm still keeping busy at the hospital.
melvsmom At three or four weeks, this eaglet is covered in its secondary coat of gray down. In another two weeks or so, black juvenile feathers will begin to grow in. While downy feathers are excellent insulators, they are useless as air foils, and must be replaced with juvenile feathers before an eaglet can take its first flight, some 10 to 13 weeks after hatching.Pearl is plucking her downy feathers
Hi Dana - just signed on a few minutes ago. One of my kids brought me 4 Salvia to plant. I still want to get over to market & get some from Megan. Didn't get there yet.
So, Jo, why do they seem to be stuck in the beak somehow? Just sticking to something or what? It seems that even when she scratches they just hang on. I assumed it was Pearl because she's first and probably goes thru changes first.
melvsmom - Looking at Pearl with a feather in her nostril makes me want to sneeze. I would think she could scratch at it a remove it or rub her beak! I had to laugh yesterday - dumb feather would not go away!!! lol
Blogger is being not so nice this evening...was watching back on the video...Lib brought in a huge fish...Pearl mantled it but let Lib take it back and feed Pearl and Middy and Tiny...so they all ate good this evening!
Good evening! Just returned from seeing oldest grandson in his end of the year first grade program. It was very good. We picked up the three year old from his school, and I fixed dinner. We had a fun afternoon and evening.
Check out the cams. Forget watching our nest, Spidey has really made a mess of things! Thank goodness we can see during the day!
Love the Okie cam. Saw a raccoon and then a deer a few minutes ago.
they said it would last for about 4 days and then back into the 80's again. this is nasty. there is a hot wind too which never happens and there are fires all over.
I have something very special I would like to send you. Jo tried to put it on momsters but couldnt and neither could I. I thought it was my computer but I guess not. Please email me at annemlarsen@comcast.net
Athens is in east Texas, the piney woods are there. We are where the west begins.....literally. We happen to have our house in a band that has oak trees, but west of us, the trees start to grow a little thin.
Good Grief, aarrgghh...been trying to get on site for an hour!"Cannot connect w/website"...blah,blah,blah Well better speak now that I'm finally on! Good Good Evening everyone. Got more news from our naturalist, Greg, at the Park. He also believes our female osprey is not alive and is having bad luck w/a foster chick. I think they are too young to move now. Maybe we can transplant later and make a lean-to Tiki Hut for protection like last year! That foster child reared by our male fledged. He's such a good boy! I've also been watching the stork---beautiful sight. Gonna see end of ER. BBL

Good morning everyone. Nice picture of NBG adult sitting on branch and little one just picking at nest.

Good morning Ceil. It just warms my heart every time I see your name on here!! So glad you made the jump!! :)
took her long enough, Sharon:):):)

As you know I was never one for speed Mits. Good to be on Sharon but not enough time. Have to go now. BBL
Sharon, we miss a lot with the angle of that cam, but NEVER miss a Poop Shoot! LOL

Me too, Wanda!
I think I would have to refuse taking care of someone's lizard. My dogs misbehave at night so that would be nothing new for me! :)
I think it is time to retire from the pet sitting thing
Ceil, if you are still there, did you have to feed the lizard live crickets? You are a GOOD FRIEND!
lol.....Wanda, she is that..a good friend...
Our eaglets have been up for hours and haven't been fed yet...they must be starved. When breakfast finally arrives, there will be a feeding frenzy!
You know, for a GOOD friend, I would feed you and even clean you but don't expect me to touch bugs and feed lizards! :)
Do you all remember when Spunky was practicing with his wings and went down over the edge of the nest and held onto the side and then jumped back up! Like - OOPS!
I wasn't on here at that time, but Pearl just about lost it, for sure!
Wanda, I forgot. Seems like you have been here forever.
Lost my Live Feed. Need to push some buttons.
It has been a year in April. Don't know what I did before this. I am like you, it has been a blessing!
what no food????
good morning, everybody. Have been on other computer for the last 3 hours, will have to go back and see what I missed. Loon is off the 2 eggs, did see that. Ok, gonna go catch up.
OH, jackdaw off babies. Still 4 babies and the 1 egg, so that may not hatch now. darn.
Also, do the parents slow down on feeding to encourage them to leave the nest or is there just a "shortage" right now?
Melvsmom - Spunky was the runt of the litter in our first year watching. He fledged on Flag Day. Closer to time to fledge, there will be less food but I don't think we are close enough quite yet.
GOOD MORNING DEBBIE...
I have never seen them branch either and I guess we won't see these 3 when they do. That cam is good for now but not for later.
Branches are out of cam view...I guess we have to go down to the Sycamore tree to see them in person!
We should be having a get-together at the nest soon.
Still a wee bit early for branching. That's where they do their first "flights" to very nearby branches, and return to the nest. A loon is out on the water near the nest, just swimming slowly back to her eggs.
She's at the nest swimming around looking around before getting on the eggs, I guess. They sure are pretty!
Check out the PA babies, looks like one found something to eat and by golly, got it down! But it looked like 2 were sitting side by side singing to each other. Till the one found the food scrap, too funny.

Zooming in on the NBG baby! What a cutie.
Morning, all!
Nice sunshine on the nest!
That Norfolk baby is growing like a zucchini!!
Oh I remember that.
Where is Spunky? Where is Spunky?
That little rascal used to hide on the nest, behind the trunk at 6 and you couldn't see him!
I see that Pearl still has that feather on her beak. I wonder if it bothers her as much as my OCD self?
Did you see that? She FLEW!
Good earlier then normal Morning

Hey, good morning, Norma! Long time, no see...
Good morn to Suz again too. I waited around awhile this morning, but suddenly I got the "sleep urge," so I shut everything down and went for it.

Good morning to all you great eagle

Hi, Dave...yes it is good to be alive and to have a computer to enjoy Gods handywork when we can't be outside.
Has anyone seen our eaglets being feed today?
Thanks, Wanda! I guess it is the idea of being awake, though they say I will be very relaxed. Counting on that!!
Positive side, maybe I will have more time on the computer this weekend. Certainly will not be able to work in the yard.
Hi all. Mr and Mrs Cardinal and mr downy woodpecker are at Okie birdfeeder. What a cool site.
Going to read the paper, eat a bite, then head outside.
Oh,dear, sounds like a storm warning siren on the stork cam.

Hi to Paula, Dave and nature. Have a great day everyone. Must go and get some work done.

PA FALCONS----Are so funny!!---One is sound asleep with his mouth wide open!!---Ready when the food arrives!!---GROWING UP FAST TOO!!-
Looks like Pearl is preening and those white feathers are a-flying!
Robyn, Tori will be in my prayers.
Lolly, good luck with the cataract surgery. I think it is normal to be nervous.
MORNIN' DEB!!---Hey you are FAST!!-----That's a GOOD THING!!!!
LUNCH DATE---LATER!
The eaglets said "you don't like us where you can't see us - well- we will get right up in your face then!" :)
Good Morning Suzanne, Sharon, Mits, Ceil, Wanda, Dave, Jim, Norma, Lolly, Jo, Paula, Nature, and MG.
Remember Iris just had the cataract surgery. See's better now and wished she had done it sooner.
Roby I have you in prayer for back healing. Now I read about Tori..she is already prayed for and continue to be prayed for.
I'm going looking for a flower box for on my railing.
Need to get my flowers from Megan. ( :

I am thinkin very strongly about going down to the nest and throwing up a few fish. Those poor babies have never been neglected like this before... hope Lib & Belle are alright.

Afternoon Dana, you came in after my last post. I just got finished planted some flowers would love to get some from Megan.
Planting not planted.
LIVE FEED GONE - AGAIN!
Hey Dave, good to see you back. Glad to hear your eaglets are doing well!!
Live feed down here too, I'll shoot Steve an email!
Parent in the nest and looks like he brought leaves in. Maybe the eaglets have to become vegetarians?
what is the stork website??
Sharon, one parent brought in leaves yesterday. Talk about some disappointed babies. But eventually one of them picked up the leaves and rearranged them for a while. Maybe it's a lesson in nestorations or nestkeeping.
Maybe. I have seen a parent in the nest twice today and no food either time. Don't know what is up with that but I am sure they are not starving.
GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYONE! My goodness, it's been a long time since I've been on here! Even though I haven't blogged on here in a while, I am still keeping tabs on our eagles. Boy I've missed you all. I'm still keeping busy at the hospital.
well, time to get back to my patients. Hope to be back on here soon.
Love,
Danelle
I had a juvie male and female grosbeak out here just now. Oh, how I love those birds!
Hi Danelle. Good to see you on here, you lurker! :)
Thank you Dana, Sharon and Deb.
I will send the weekend with her and clean and rest today.

I had the live feed for less than a minute and BAM! gone again.
I was just going to tell you live feed was up, but it is already down again.
Christie, if you are still here, this is the stork site:

A hand mysteriously took the moth off of the Okie cam and is now filling the feeders.
Eatin' time!!

Thanks NCTC!
Everyone looking off the back...oops soon as I say that one moves....wow, now they are all 3 lined up squished today....watch those wings guys.
The rain is finally here, along with thunder.
Osprey at BWO with a fish...been there a long time...wonder if waiting on its mate
awww mom and dad are sitting in the nest with their little one at NBG
Nice up close view
I'm so happy they have at least one eaglet at VA
Gosh they like to be next to each other right at the edge
I think one parent is feeding eaglet and the other is eating at VA
Eaglet just looked up at our cam
Eaglets have their eyes to the skies
they looked so relaxed, and both just seemed to be enjoying the whole family seen, what a miracle that one is.
Zoomed in at VA while feeding chicklet
How was the zoo yesterday, Mits
It was really crowded, Paula, but the time went fast.
Have our babies been served a meal yet?
Pearl almost lost it! LOL
OK, Tiny, your turn.
Tiny if really grouchy today.
Yes, Wanda, they ate a little while ago.
Heading home...see ya'll later
good evening everyone
Can someone explain to me about the feathers hanging off Pearl's (?) beak?
Hi all!
Could someone please post the website for the Loon cam? Thanks!
Good evening T-Bird Thelma!!
Wow HI THELMA way to go gal
NIce to see you cam on board. ( :
Here you go for loons:
Loon Cam
LOON CAM -
Just came on line - you had to wait awhile for this one but believe me that when you see this LOON - it will have been worth the wait!
So Beautiful!
Hi T Bird
I thought I was on her by myself lol
Hi Deb Hi Jo ( : ( :
Jo did you get your hummingbird plant from Megan yet?
Food just came to our nest
I am just dropping in to check cams and blog. Parent in our nest. San Jose chicks are out of the box and wondering on the roof. Cardinal in OK.
melvsmom
At three or four weeks, this eaglet is covered in its secondary coat of gray down. In another two weeks or so, black juvenile feathers will begin to grow in. While downy feathers are excellent insulators, they are useless as air foils, and must be replaced with juvenile feathers before an eaglet can take its first flight, some 10 to 13 weeks after hatching. Pearl is plucking her downy feathers
Hi Dana - just signed on a few minutes ago. One of my kids brought me 4 Salvia to plant. I still want to get over to market & get some from Megan. Didn't get there yet.
Sometimes it looks like they're wearing bike helmets.
So, Jo, why do they seem to be stuck in the beak somehow? Just sticking to something or what? It seems that even when she scratches they just hang on. I assumed it was Pearl because she's first and probably goes thru changes first.
I had never noticed their talons before. How cool is that?!
melvsmom - Looking at Pearl with a feather in her nostril makes me want to sneeze. I would think she could scratch at it a remove it or rub her beak! I had to laugh yesterday - dumb feather would not go away!!! lol
Spidey nowadays really irritates me!
Howdy, all!
Started my garden project tonight. Really easy to pull up weeds from the soaked ground!
Blogger is being not so nice this evening...was watching back on the video...Lib brought in a huge fish...Pearl mantled it but let Lib take it back and feed Pearl and Middy and Tiny...so they all ate good this evening!
Wow it finally let me publish!!
Lib came back and cleaned up the remaining fish...
Sun coming up in Finland. Anyone know when the eggs on those two osprey nests are supposed to hatch? I am ready for some action at those two sites!
help its hot...... I am so thankful for air conditioning.over 100 today. Listen to me whine.
Oh, it is too early to be getting over 100! We are having cool weather here in Texas. We will get over 100 soon enough.
lolly what is the okie sight. I have it at work but not here at home.
they said it would last for about 4 days and then back into the 80's again. this is nasty. there is a hot wind too which never happens and there are fires all over.
Saw your reply about the strange little squirrel (?) with the ringed tail. Very strange! But cute!
http://www.okiebirdcam.com/
Here is the Okie site!
Lolly where about do you live in Texas?
thank you
We have turned on the AC only three times and only once over night. This is very unusual for it to be this cool. It is presently 68.
We are in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area. We are in the country. Houses in our area are on 1 to 4 acres. We are on 1 acre.
We love visiting in California. Have been there several times and traveled the length along the coast. Beautiful!!!
this is the first time this year I have had the air on. Its been great and I have had all the windows open 24/7
I have a very special email friend whom I have never met that leves and teaches in Athens.
"lives". I guess I should read first.
Oh, I love Athens!!! Our church has a camp there. Our women love to go there for retreat. Athens is a small town, but very nice.
I have something very special I would like to send you. Jo tried to put it on momsters but couldnt and neither could I. I thought it was my computer but I guess not. Please email me at annemlarsen@comcast.net
She is very active in her church there too.
Athens is in east Texas, the piney woods are there. We are where the west begins.....literally. We happen to have our house in a band that has oak trees, but west of us, the trees start to grow a little thin.
I live right up against the Sierras in the Sacramento Valley. Lot of water in the rivers but no rain in the summer. We get our all in the winter.
Have emailed you!
Good Grief, aarrgghh...been trying to get on site for an hour!"Cannot connect w/website"...blah,blah,blah
Well better speak now that I'm finally on!
BBL
