Normabyrd, it rained Friday evening, was a gorgeous day on Saturday and rained yesterday. It rained really hard and started thundering during Patty's Memorial Service!
Hmm....bird girl....not ummm...bad girl....sorry....I really do know how to read....really. I have been looking in the book and just scanning through it I really need to sit down with it and figure out the setup and all for when I see a bird that I can't id. There is one that I have been looking for..saw him in my yard. He was a good ways away so I really couldn't get a good look at beak and all..but he was black and I told DH that he looked like a blackbird with an orange nike check on his side. Got any ideas what it might have been?
SHARON!!---That is a beautiful place!!---Many moons ago---when I was in high school!!---We all sold many things to get money to build CEDAR LAKES!! (think we sold pencils)----You need to go back the week of July 4th----That's when they have this HUGE arts & crafts celebration!!---So "folksy"---like we WV people are!! ho!
LOL Lady...leave it to me to ummm...stick my fingers in mah mouth! I am piddlin' with this real player..I don't normally have any probs at all getting the live feed but I still can't seem to get it to work. Oh yes...my bird...I have a bunch of the red winged black birds and I guess it could have been that though I would have preferred something more exotic like an oriole or something ...LOL
FG! How are ya dear? I have been trying to keep up with everyone while I was away. I know YOU have been busy just as we have with just our own yard. DH has a green thumb ...I just like to look and schmell. Sometimes I do have to do water duty but I seem to get myself wetter than the plants.
Athenaa, we had a female oriole to visit us for a few moments Saturday. That is rare for us. Same with the male, maybe a visit once a year. Sooo beautiful.
Moving slow this morning, Athenaa, long weekend. Fell down Saturday and my arm is killing me. Really needed to plant today, gonna have to work in gh instead. I saw an oriole last week, haven't seen it since. Huge flock of cedar waxwings is still here, they usually are here all winter then leave, so far they are still here eating holly berries. The mockingbirds are not happy about it.
I got an oriole last year for a couple of days clady and loved it. This may have been an orchard oriole though it was so far away hard to tell. And you know I had those indigo buntings for a week or so at my feeders and I haven't seen them since. I am disappointed that they didn't hang around longer. FG you are gonna have to be more careful!! I don't know about you but I don't fall as well as I used to! LOL! It really hurts more!
My bird report on this clod, wet morning - 2 indigo buntings, lots of mourning doves and house sparrows, several grosbeaks (male and female), towhees, chickadees, nuthatch, titmouse. That is all I can remember at the moment!
WOO HOO....stock market is up this mornin' and oil is down....some lower gas prices would make mah day. I have to fill up today no matter what they are ....no fun at all...
Well ya'll I really do hate to run but I have to do car stuff this morning. Change oil and trans fluid...Jiffy Lube ..here I come. So I'll see you girls in the morning.
Norma look for a dark bird...you prolly have them and don't know it like me. Once they are in the light right they are like some kind of beautiful blue. I really wish mine would come back to my feeders. They were on my thistle feeder and my regular feeder and even on the ground. So I really don't know which they prefer. Gotta run girls...bbl...
AND THEN THERE WERE 3! WHoo HOoo! It scared me last evening when I could only see 2 - but the cam pic had frozen. Don't know where Pearl was all that time. Thanks Steve - It is so good when I first get on (later then everyone else of course) and the LIVE FEED IS UP/RUNNING!
With the 5" of rain - I was more concerned that most of the nest was still there!!! I guess I knew that our 3 would be hanging on! Great to see adult with them. I could NOT see through Spidey's web last night!
I have also had house finches and cardinals this morning. Last night I had an indigo bunting on one side of the feeder and a yellow finch on the other side. Breathtaking colors for sure!
I looked at the Hummer cam yesterday. Joe has a great position on it. All the Great Horned Owls have fledged and have NOT returned to their nest box/ledge.
I was watching Belle earlier shake off her wings before taking off. A few years ago I looked out my kitchen window and there was a hawk playing in the sprinkler. He was having a good ol time! Then he walked about 20 feet to a tree and started climbing it. He was too wet to fly. He climbed up, sat there, shook off, dried up some and took off. So funny!

Good morning, everyone. It is sunny and headed to 70 today. That will be nice after a couple of cool days this weekend. We had frost on Friday night, so I am glad I didn't plant anything yet.
No, Dana, have been too busy to sit down and do it. I think I see some extra time later on this week. Probably next Saturday! Spring is such a busy time, and May is even worse. No time to sit at the computer and play!
Me too Mits now there are like lines through it. But it sounded like a branch fell. I could still see the eaglets partly. 30 sec refresh does NOT show a branch against cam. So I don't know. I heard a sound and splash. I still see on the edges of LF the leaves moving.
Whoa! What happened? Just took a quick peek and ?????? Have sound, but something has happened to the cam. This is NOT good. I do not feel good about this!
I can see with difficulty that 2 eaglets are back near th 12 o'clock position. The other eaglet is about 11 o'clock. I see see them breathing ok. This is through Live Feed.
Yes Mits I do too. As I was saying it is only affecting the Live Feed. So if it is a branch with some leaves. It is NOT on our eaglets or IN THE NEST. The 30 sec resfresh cam shows us that.
I thought the still shots and the live feed came through the same camera. Do they not? I am still getting sound with no pic. Can get the still pic though.
Did not loose the live feed. Something happened to the lower part of the picture. There are some horizontal vague stripes. Can see the eaglets, actually think the picture is a little clearer now. The part of the cam that shows in the lower left hand corner is funny looking.
You ever been driving in a rain storm with leaves blowing. An all of a sudden splash comes the water with leaves mixed it. It was like that. Mine has just been clearing up little by little.
Paula sent Momster email-having trouble getting back on blog. I was able to sign in ok. I have same conditions on live feed & 30sec cam as everyone else
Usually I don't have it an you all do. It is terrible feeling like an "outcast I know"......doesn't make sense. From what Steven says "we all should have it" !!!!!!
I am having trouble with the "loon cam" lol Our cams what to do what to do ..... comes on beautiful pic and on a sec goes off.........oh well so much for cams and computers
LOL!! I absolutely did have cheese on my meatball sub, you are correct in that. Great memory!! However, I eat the wienie and the bun only on a hot dog! :)
#1) My email to Steve came back as undeliverable.. Never has it done that before.
#2) Suzanne just gave me a call so I could get the word on here about her whereabouts!!! She drove into work this early am & was 13 miles from DC and the road was blocked by police due to FLOODING. They couldn't tell her any alternative route so she turned around and headed home! She did have her car scheduled to take in today so she did accomplish that! She will talk with you all tomorrow - as long as the rain stops soon!!
Okay, I have pic with no sound too. Would rather have it that way than sound with no pic! (I guess). Jo, are you saying you have been rejected by Steven? Not good! :)
Hot dog was DEEELLLISSSHH! They used the grilled buns here and that just makes them! Thelma got slaw dogs. They looked kind of nasty but she loves them! :)
Thanks Jo. Glad Suzanne let us know I was kind of concerned. All that way and had to turn around. Rain kept me awake most of the night. We did put our heat back on. Probably next week the ac will go on. Hope not.
Wish we were at the beach. Cup of hot chocolate and watching the waves. We were there one night and it was like it is now. We had the fireplace and the heat on. An wrapped in a blanket.Jay came in and thought we were crazy.
The Badlands are so pretty, I wish we would have had time to do the full loop through there, but had to get home. Maybe later this summer I can get back out there and spend a couple of days just at the park.
Haven't seen our Scottish lass Chrissy Beahan on at all in over a week...anyone heard from her? 30 sec. cam scared me for a moment---only saw two of our little guys, but then saw feet!! Live cam verified someone being a bit stand-offish!! LOL. Hope he doesn't back up any further!
I read in our Frederick paper this morning of Trego Mountain Sanctuary right in Keedysville (enroute to Shepherdstown from Boonsboro) On the outside are caged enclosures where injured birds heal.... This is so close & worth a visit!

Steve, the live feed was up Sat afternoon. I introduced a friend to it during her visit. But haven't been able to bring it up since then.

Yes Steve My live feed is working Thanks so much.
Good morning all.
I too want to repeat a question up a few posts. Why am I only seeing 2 eaglets and a parent.
Glo, I was wondering why only 2 eaglets as well. I hoped that mom was sitting over one.
Number 3 is there too!
I was thinking(hoping)one of them is laying right in front of adult-
Mom flew away and then there were 3!
Guess Belle heard us and decided to show us the third chick. I hate this rain rain rain. One of them has been sneezing since the last rain storm.
ATHENAA---When we were at NCTC to see our EAGLES last summer---We saw a huge tree there----COMPLETLY COVERED WITH ORIOLES!!!---It was unbelievable!!!!
MORNIN' MELVSMOM & GLO!!-----Oh-ye of little faith!!----I was sure #3 was there---even if I couldn't see her!!!----
GOOD MONDAY A.M. EVERYONE
just want to thank GOD for the wonderful rain that we soooo desperately need....thank you God:)

Good morning All!!! Have been reading through the blog, catching up. Slept in this morning. Oh, I was tired last night.
My what wet birds! And, it looks like someone has found a snack stached away!
It is 57 again this morning. We are having WONDERFUL, UNUSUAL cool weather. It is great! Had to turn the AC on Sat., but it has been off since. Yea!
Plan to work in the yard all day. Wahoo!!! Also, need to go to church and work in my flower bed there, busy, fun day!
I looked at the Hummer cam yesterday. Joe has a great position on it.
All the Great Horned Owls have fledged and have NOT returned to their nest box/ledge.
OOOHHH, finch is out here now!
I'll bet it feels good to flap those wings and get some of the wet off.
Pretty pic Sharon. Is that an indigo bunting?
Oh, I am really jealous to listen to you talk about all the eastern birds you have at your feeders.
Yes Paula, that is an indigo bunting. Such eyecatchers! Mine don't normally look dark though, they always look blue to me.
So funny!
Gotta go. Jack is ready for the computer. BBL Have a great day!
Got to keep adding to my bird list - blue jays and a downy woodpecker. I have a northern flicker that likes to walk around in my grandmother's yard.
Pretty bird for sure...
Look at that eaglet wolfing down that fish!
I will be alright as long as my lovely little hawk stays away today! :)

Good Morning from wet WV to Ceil, Dave and Deb.
Glad to see all 3 of our eaglets eating.

Norma not too many donkeys are out..
BW Osprey is wet
Lolly I check I didn't see any pictures of your beauty water gardens. Am I missing where to go?

WHAT WAS THAT ???????????? at our cam
Is it a brach?
Now I have sound but no pic!
I lost the pic as well.
I mean't branch?
I have sound and a messed up pic
Me too Mits now there are like lines through it.
But it sounded like a branch fell. I could still see the eaglets partly. 30 sec refresh does NOT show a branch against cam. So I don't know. I heard a sound and splash.
I still see on the edges of LF the leaves moving.
I sent an email to Steven and John. Maybe they can tell us what is blocking our view on the Live Feed.
Whoa! What happened? Just took a quick peek and ?????? Have sound, but something has happened to the cam. This is NOT good. I do not feel good about this!
think Steven and John need to take a walk over to the ole sycamore tree.....
30 second cam looks fine..
I can see with difficulty that 2 eaglets are back near th 12 o'clock position. The other eaglet is about 11 o'clock. I see see them breathing ok. This is through Live Feed.
I see all 3 live and 30 sec cam
Hope Steven or John can come on here and tell us what they see through the Live Feed down there.
Yes Mits I do too. As I was saying it is only affecting the Live Feed. So if it is a branch with some leaves. It is NOT on our eaglets or IN THE NEST. The 30 sec resfresh cam shows us that.

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE...
Looks like you've had a deluge, and we have a couple a puddles from some drizzle this morning.
I wonder what So Cal would do with
5" of rain all at once.
My live feed "loads" all the way up to the "Real" logo!!
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
good question, Sharon....don't know?
Those of you that lost the live feed. Have you tried getting it back up?
Poops shoot from eaglet at 9 o'clock position and stretching both wings.
One of our eaglets just moved from 12:30 position to 3 oclock postion. I can see them very well.
Did not loose the live feed. Something happened to the lower part of the picture. There are some horizontal vague stripes. Can see the eaglets, actually think the picture is a little clearer now. The part of the cam that shows in the lower left hand corner is funny looking.
It is now at about the middle of the nest. OOooops just looked that is what 30 sec refresh is showing also.
I can see them on the still cam and hear them on the live feed.
Maybe a branch fell over, scratched the lens, AND wiped Spidey's web away. Wouldn't that be something?!!
You ever been driving in a rain storm with leaves blowing. An all of a sudden splash comes the water with leaves mixed it. It was like that. Mine has just been clearing up little by little.
Yep old spidey might have gotten was out.
Picture is definitly clearing up, though the lower left hand corner still looks funny.
Yep Lolly that is what I have on the Live Feed.
Who all was getting the "live feed" and now is not?
Calling names like when we were in scholl lol report in Sharon, Mits, anyone??? lol
Don't have a live feed Dana. Why am I only seeing 2 eaglets now on the still cam?
Maybe one is in Spunky's spot, huh?
DANA my sound is on....live feed, frozen pic now...30 sec cam ok!
yes, Sharon think so.....just tried to unfreeze frozen live feed, and knew it would happen no live feed now, just sound
Paula sent Momster email-having trouble getting back on blog.
I was able to sign in ok.
I have same conditions on live feed & 30sec cam as everyone else
Yes Sharon the one is blocking the one in Spunky's spot.
We got one flapping its wings all across the nest. lol
Jo, I have live feed and the picture is quite clear now except the lower left hand corner.
And, the lower left hand corner is clearing up gradually.
Mits the ( 1 ) egg in the loon cam looks "golden"..... lol
Oh, did you see those little hops with the wing flap?
The one eaglet at about 9 o'clock has been preening itself.
if its golden....I'm going on a trip:)
There he goes again, hopping and flapping! It like "Look what I can do!!" LOL
We are only going up a few degrees more for the day. It is now 45° and purpost to get to 48°. Tomorrow newspaper says 70° and sunny....drying out day.
If you come up missing I'll tell everyone to check the Loon cam lol
Bye! Gotta go! BBL Hope the cam comes back for those who lost it. Paula, hope you get back on the blog.
Sorry Paula can't get back on. Hope all gets straightened out so she can...Paulaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Mits and Sharon I certainly hope your Live Feed unfreezes and comes back up.
that's ok Dana, we are used to being outcasts with the cam
Tell it Mits!!!!! We certainly are!
and I don't like it and I'm NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE.....but what can we do?????
Don't know about you Mits, but I feel pretty powerless in it. Just praying for acceptance that I am an outcast! :)
I don't have the live feed - only the sound.
The 30 sec cam looks to be frozen.
I am about ready to head for some
soup!!!
I got this back from Steven:
just checked the closed circuit feed and everything looks normal.
Steve
Thelma just left to go to the Dairy Queen to get us a hot dog for lunch!! YUMYUM!
Usually I don't have it an you all do. It is terrible feeling like an "outcast I know"......doesn't make sense.
From what Steven says "we all should have it" !!!!!!
WOW Now you can clearly see all 3
STEVEN
I AM NOT NORMAL YET!!!
I am having trouble with the "loon cam" lol Our cams what to do what to do ..... comes on beautiful pic and on a sec goes off.........oh well so much for cams and computers
Now I really want my lunch since you
told me where Thelma went!
Do you get Cheese on yours?
Email him Jo
I'm rarely NORMAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
OK WIll DO
No cheese Jo. Don't forget, I am a plain Jane when it comes to food.
MMMMMMM HOT DOGS!!!!
YES, JO, he listens to you:)
Sharon - excuse me! I thought you had CHEESE on your meatball sub from
subway...... My memory is going to
just 1 day ago.
Where is DEB? I didn't read this morning's earliest comments.
Megan - Watch your step gal!
Deb has some new slide shows on her web page -- they are really good.
Deb is mowing her lawn...
LOL!! I absolutely did have cheese on my meatball sub, you are correct in that. Great memory!! However, I eat the wienie and the bun only on a hot dog! :)
no mustard???????
WIENIE AND BUN! Mustard is nasty! :)
MY LIVE FEED IS UP AND IT LOOKS OK
THAT 'S THE GOOD NEWS...BAD NEWS IS NO SOUND
That comment didn't sound right.
I have now Join the Eaglet_Monsters of unable to get LIVE FEED OR SOUND.
Maybe I need to go back and delete the last remark. lol "Email him Jo" lol I typed that an bingo down went my LIve Feed. So I am with you all now :(
Your making me hungry .....
2 items - then I'm eating late lunch
#1) My email to Steve came back as
undeliverable..
THANKS JO.....FOR THE UPDATES!!
Thank you Jo for the update on Suzanne.
Okay, I have pic with no sound too. Would rather have it that way than sound with no pic! (I guess). Jo, are you saying you have been rejected by Steven? Not good! :)
2 things here:
1 - they are working on the loon cam...it plays awhile and stops
2 - my live feed came back on ( : but no sound on well.
Hope not.
To bad we aren't at the beach, Ceil, they are expecting 60 mph wind gusts....yikes
My live feed is up/running now.
Slaw dog sounds good to me Sharon. I like chili, mustard and onions or sauerkraut.
Wish we were at the beach. Cup of hot chocolate and watching the waves.
We were there one night and it was like it is now. We had the fireplace and the heat on. An wrapped in a blanket.Jay came in and thought we were crazy.
I have live feed no sound. That's okay. Glad to see them.
my favorite thing to do at the beach, watch the weather....and have the fireplace on:)
My favorite thing to do at the beach is swim, watch the fish swim, read a book and enjoy the sun! Backyard is done and I am taking a break.
I finally got my nice warm bowl of soup! yummy
Hi there Deb - you still miss your tree? Told everyone you had some new slide shows up at your site.
I loved them......
Glad you enjoyed the pictures, Jo. It is a lot easier to mow now without the tree, but I know when it is in the 90's I will miss the shade.
Tomorrow is suppose to be sunny and 70°.....up to 47° here now won't go much higher with the rain. Bumped up the heat alittle...feels good.
Soup and grilled cheese for dinner this evening.
I read in our Frederick paper this morning of Trego Mountain Sanctuary right in Keedysville (enroute to Shepherdstown from Boonsboro)
On the outside are caged enclosures where injured birds heal.... This is so close & worth a visit!
