After a month's hiatus, here's an update.
We headed up in the tree in late August. We found that both cameras in the tree had been "cooked" by the close proximity lightning strike. We replace the new cam in the existing mechanical housing, and confirmed that wiring from the nest to the base of the tree was working. We plan on putting in a heavy duty surge protector to help prevent such catastrophic damage next big storm. Unfortunately, this area is prone to big lightning,, we have been plagued with this type of damage since we opened in 1997.
We still have some cabling to replace, and once that is done we'll be ready to start to next season of eagles.

Good morning! It is time for a new thread!
Still no car! Grrrrr! They called and there is another delay. It is driving me nuts! So, out I go in Jack's truck! Just not right!
Having beautiful weather but it changes Friday, cooler and a chance of rain. Going to work in the yard tomorrow. Family coming Saturday. Zach will be with Michael. Michael is returning Wednesday for Thanksgiving but will NOT have Zach. Sad! Laurel is coming Saturday , too as she wants to see Zach. Everyone will be here Wed til Friday next week.
Having a challenge with Savanna as she is vegetarian. Going to prepare Mexican food Saturday. Several dishes with cheese. Thanksgiving she gets all the side dishes.
