Good morning eagle friends. Thank you for the new thread Steve.

Yay, the feather is mine today. Everyone needs to go back to the previous thread and follow the link that Bob Quinn left for us. Eagle and osprey photos and a special happy dance.

Mema Jo said...

Good wide awake morning again!

Congratulations Grannyblt!
That beautiful feather is yours.
Lynne that was such an easy birding trip to get an Eagles' feather.

Definitely go back and see Bob's pictures from Southport ME

Hi,

Trying get to see Bob's pictures.

Sandi said...

Good afternoon friends! Freyja is coming home today!! :)

Thanks Steve for the new thread!

Bob, loved your photos as always! Loved getting to see the size comparison between an eagle and an osprey.

Tennis tournament is over - final umpire will be stopping back to take a shower and then hit the road. It has been another enjoyable tennis experience - our 3rd year hosting players but the first time hosting umpires.

The sun has come out but the temps are very nice - have turned off the AC and opened the windows.

Have a good day!

Good afternoon dear Eaglebuds!
Did a lot of reading yesterday, but now must go back to see Bob's photos.
Been busy in and out & fixing pics to send to daughter. She sent me some of her new flower pics & they are gorgeous now! Hope the sprinkler system will get most of them!
Was concerned about one of the baby kittens in the back of the Buick in garage. It seemed to have breathing problems & always had mouth open. Last 3 days, I've seen it with mouth closed, so maybe it's getting normal now.Put the quilt on the floor outside the open car door, in case some get fast on mobility and climb the hump in the middle of back seat floor to escape! Would be more than a foot drop onto wood runners and concrete. Will eventually put them in kitty motel box and pray the Mom, Panda, won't move them to a yucky garage nook.

To our dear friends~~~Hoda, so sorry to read about the loss of your BIL. Prayers for your family. How shocking.
Dear Jo, many thoughts and prayers for your health. With everyone's support and your faithful attitude, we can surely declare that you will be OK!!!!!Hoping the Dam_ Spot turns out to be ZERO!
Love to all~~~have a Blessed Sunday ☺ ♥

SANDI being she is nursing I am surprised they didn't have her stay

When Jordyn was born she had to stay in the NICU the odd thing is she was the biggest baby there 9 lbs 8 oz
we felt so bad because all the other babies were ittsy bitty ones and they let Carl and Angie both stay in a room since she was breast feeding

Good evening.

Hope I didn't startle everyone just walking in like this.

Thank you Steve for the fresh thread and congratulations to Lynne on her feather.

MT nest when I looked at few minutes ago.

So much to try to catch up. Seems everyone is okay and doing well. New baby, new mom, Larry, countdown for JudyE, Loretta's kittens, Mr. Q's pictures (stunning).

Tried to keep updated but the week was a wonderful time with many adventures. One day we went to Roanoke to visit the Black Dawg Salvage Co. Beautiful drive. There is a black labrador. Apparently they have a DIY tv program. We met the owners.I crashed into an orange barrel and was not allowed to drive again. Next day to a botanical garden I didn't even know about, last full day to the village shops in Occoquan.

Best house guests ever. No work, no effort, lots of laughter, took care of themselves. Now they are safely back in Houston.

Have been tired today. Likely will not need Sandperson tonight.

Goodorming my eagle friends - nest looks MT.

Freyja and Lynnis are home - hope they all had a peaceful night. Brian emailed that we can come as soon as we would like and stay as long as we would like. Said the house is a mess and there is tons of dirty laundry and he's taking care of everything and really needs help! So I will go and clean house and wash clothes and grocery shop and cook vegetarian food for Lynnis and non-vegetarian food for the rest of us. And in between, I'll hold my grandbaby! :)

We are hoping to leave this afternoon when Denny's work day is finished - he has a big job starting this morning. If the heavy equipment all shows up and his men can get started, they will have enough work for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Prayers for all the needs on the blog, especially Jo and Larry. Jo, did Michael make it home?

Have a good day all.

Good afternoon,

I'm on Kathryn's computer today. It is nice to be able to read the posts and add my own comments easily.

Yay, Sandi! You get to spend some time with your new granddaughter! How exciting. I remember how much I appreciated it when my mother came to help me with the twins. She actually came before they were born. I really needed her. Enjoy yourself!

stronghunter said...

I haven't been able to see Bob's pictures. I have a message that says "Direct linking denied." Thought maybe it was just because I was on my phone, but I am getting the same message on the computer.

Help!

Shirley sent you an email with Bob's link to his album - Comes right

Hope it works

Mema Jo said...

Sharon they may have fledged - we could only be sure if we saw them
fly into the nest (not plop down from the stump) However; they have
not left the nest because we see them
too often. Just this morning the adult brought in breakfast and fed them. So that would tell me that they are not completely on their own.

On the outdoor cam play some of Deb's recent videos of the nest activities..........

Happy you were able to spend the weekend with Andrew and Kelsey - Great pool I saw you in.....

On this Wed instead of the original
time there was an earlier cancellation so...... I report at

Good move Jo...get it over and done with...then you'll know sooner what's going on.

Hmmm, after rereading your post Jo, I was thinking the procedure was on the 7th. You are talking about the biopsy, correct?

Mema Jo said...

The 7th of July is my sit down with surgeon for the results.

Good Morning Eagle Buds !!!

First a big welcome to the fold to dear babies, Freya and Jaxson ! So happy for the Roberts and Wright families !

HODA, sorry to read about your BIL, my belated condolences.

LOLLY, your cell should have registered the fact that I tried to reach you from Estes Park several times last Thursday. Could only get garbled reception. Disappointing, but I tried !

Had a grand and glorious time with the kids in CO--beautiful sight seeing, great eateries in both Boulder and Ft. Collins. No negatives whatsoever. Highlights were tours of Celestial Seasonings and O'Dell's brewery--loved the tea and the beer !

It's taken a couple of days for Penny and I to recoup with a lot of napping. She has so much to keep track of when at Julie's, monitoring Malcolm and "talking" to all the walkers and bikers she can see from the big front windows.

JO and LYNNE2, reading back I see that we have you at the top of the prayer list now. I'm on it !

Good morning my eagle budlets. I hope all is well in your worlds today. I love this time of year with all the younguns coming to the bird feeders, and I guess even the baby starlings. I have 2 baby towhees all the time and their parents show up every now and then.

T-Bird goes today to Wytheville, VA, to have an EGD and colonoscopy. Happy happy joy joy.

Thinking about you Jo. Praying the procedure goes well tomorrow. I love you much!!!

Mema Jo said...

Good morning to all ♥

knock knock knock. may I come in?????

i'm home.

we had such a lovely weekend with the kiddos. did much they loved.

so thankful to have hd this time away with them.

I had one moment of blessing ...a moment of awe and wonder. we were tubing down the little river (literally floating down the river in tubes)...it was a 3 hour adventure, most of the time spent playing with Amelia (Olivia, being 13 and too old and mature for such antics floated long and faraway from the likes of us) and then towards the end I saw this rather large bird flying gracefully up river. at first I thought it was a crane (no glasses on)...then a it passed overhead, it was a BALD EAGLE!!!!
free and wild, grace and beauty, a moment of blessing.

I sat in awe and wonder, wishing for my camera, wishing for my phone, wishing for each of you to see thru my eyes....

I whispered a blessing to that great bird as I floated away....

it sounds as if the blog has been busy....JO: keeping it positive....SANDI: assuming the duties of grandma!!! :)

thought of LYNNE2 as we were in bear country, though I saw none.

at some point I thought of each o of you.

need to for now. acupuncture appointment in a bit. hugs and love to all!

Good morning all. I see an MT nest

Good morning my eagle friends from west by God Virginia. I have fed dogs, chickens, pigs and a donkey. only lynnis can feed freyja but I have diaper changed, dressed, swaddled, and held her. brian and lynnis are still sleeping so we r babysitting. freyja has her first appt. with the pediatrician this afternoon. while they r gone I will b grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning. worked on laundry last night though Brian had gotten a good jump on it.

Kay, welcome home! I bet penny is one happy pup!

Jo, earlier appt 2morrow is good but I wish they could moveup the results appt for u.

Will post photos on fb with freyja later 2day. have a good day all.

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

First, I want to thank Steve for the very interesting article he posted with the new thread. Animal cams have certainly opened up a new world to us. It is good that there are so many of us who are willing to watch those critters just being themselves.

Wow! What an experience, Janet. You described it beautifully. I could just picture the scene.

Sandi, you are in Grandma Heaven. I am happy for you.

stronghunter said...

Still using Kathryn's computer. She really does not use it much since she got her new phone, but I do miss my own computer.

Hoping that the "catch-up things" you have to do are pleasant things, Jo.

I saw one juvie when I opened the cam. For some reason I'm having trouble opening two windows at once on this computer this morning. It worked just fine for me yesterday. Just need to mess with things a bit.

stronghunter said...

Welcome home, Kay.

The Celestial Seasonings tour was on the list of tours Jim had planned for us last summer, but we ran out of time before we got to do it.

Kay, was the NY Times article the one Steve mentioned at the beginning of this thread? I will have to check--not sure if that was from the Times.

stronghunter said...

Yeah, it was from the Times. Long article, very interesting.

Colonoscopy--"happy, happy, joy, joy"--well, at least when it is over. Of course, if T-Bird is on the way to have the procedure done, she is finished with the worst part. Hope the results are all good ones.

I've been seeing frequent hummingbird visits to my feeder just outside the back door recently. They even showed up with my bridge friends sitting just on the other side of the door.

My feeder has a moat to prevent ants from getting to it. This morning, the water in the moat had dried up, and the feeder was covered with ants. I cleaned the feeder, refilled the moat and watched the ants turn around and go away.

For some reason, the feeder attracts earwigs, too. Yuck.

stronghunter said...

Just saw one of our juvies take off from the edge of the nest. Not just a flight to the stump. A real one.

Mema Jo said...

That is a wonderful sighting report, Shirley. I have been waiting for that ♥

Janet - That was a great tubing adventure.. Someone was looking over you.

Jenny just paid me a visit!
