Good morning all. Dex and i are back from coffee and dog treats. We are getting ready to run all kinds of errands. one of them will be a stop by the Dog Park I found a couple of years ago. I so hope no other dogs are there this early so Dex can run around with his nose. The eyes and ears are pretty much gone these days BUT that nose works and there is lots of news at the dog park.

stronghunter said...

Good morning!!

Thanks for the new thread, Steve, and for the call-over, Janet.

stronghunter said...

Hoping all is well with Scout this morning, Janet.

Nice that the papers continue to be good, Judie.

stronghunter said...

Watching Hedgie and Shammy enjoying the morning sunshine while Belle sits beside them. Sunshine might not be too warm quite yet, but our eagles look fine.

stronghunter said...

. . ."lots of news at the dog park." Love that, Glo. Luna does a lot of running around with her nose, too. I think her ears are okay, but she loves to use that nose.

stronghunter said...

Belle is covering the kiddies with flugg again this morning. Wonder if Shep was putting the flugg on Belle's back in an instinctual need to cover her and hide her from the intruder? I just thought of that as I watched her putting the grasses on Hedgie and Sham. He was covering his mate and the babies at the same time.

Mema Jo said...

Good Wednesday Morning! The wind is brisk and so the temps are extra cold - Come on sunshine!

Congrats Janet on the Feather
Thanks Steve for the fresh new thread

I need to read back and check out the nest

Shep has arrived with a fish. His shadow announced his arrival.

stronghunter said...

Guess we will appreciate the spring all the more when it finally arrives, Jo. Just hope that time is soon.

Belle did not immediately pounce on this fish, but now she has claimed it. Looks like they are getting ready to feed the children.

stronghunter said...

Yep, feeding time for the little ones.

stronghunter said...

Mama Belle makes sure they both get fed.

stronghunter said...

Shep looks to be sunning himself a bit and watching over his family while Belle handles the feeding duties. He is definitely looking all around with those eagle eyes.

stronghunter said...

And he poofs.

Linda said...

Good Morning!

Nice to see the eaglets eathing well and the whole fam damily in the nest!!

JANET - Continued prayers for Scout. What a scare, for sure. Our Riley suddenly went into renal failure a number of years ago. I had to pull the boys out of class at school to be sure they hadn't done any work on their cars over the weekend and leaked any radiator fluid on the driveway.

Unfortunately for him, he had contracted leptospirosis (probably on our recent road trip from FL to NY), which was very dangerous and we had a long and expensive road to recovery.

So happy to hear he is responding and doing better.

ANDY - Also happy to hear Emma is doing better, albeit with many meds! Good luck with the PT. Hope it works for you!

Wanted to wish everyone a great day!

Back to work.....

Linda said...

Belle just poofed....

stronghunter said...

Belle has returned.

stronghunter said...

That wind makes me shiver.

GEting ready to head out to do a massage: talked with our vet, Dr. K. She had spoken with Blue Pearl @ 10 last night and they had done blood draws, kidney values and the likes. The good news so far is that all the levels were "normal"..so they have a base line to go on. We won't truly know if there was damage, how much, etc til sometimes after tomorrow.....Dr. K is going to call them and discuss when the values should be done again to assess what damage may have been done. So now, its a waiting game. Waiting to see if she tolerates the treatment, with nothing like a cardiac arrest. Waiting to see if /how much damage was done. Just waiting.

I am so tired.

I hope Dex has a great time at the dog partk. I get aobut the nose news....lol. Great way to put it.

Need to run my friends. Will touch base later.

stronghunter said...

Thanks for the update, Janet. We are waiting with you.

stronghunter said...

Oh, Belle. We want more than flugg between those precious babies and that edge of the nest.

stronghunter said...

Food delivery. Belle went for this one. Manteling.

stronghunter said...

Belle dragged the new fish closer to the center of the nest. Fish are scattered all about. There were lots of peeps when Shep arrived a bit ago. But they were just fed, the little rascals. One headed to the fish as though to take a bite.

Lolly said...

Good morning! Happy to hear the reports on Scout. Prayers that good reports continue,

Chilly here this morning, 50. But, are you ready for this....we got more rain during the night, 2.52 inches!!! Wahoooo! Drought not broken but this will surely help the lake levels. Possible chance for more rain today. Pray that it is so!!!

Get my do done shortly so need to get a move on!

Oh, Judie, I laughed at your Jack Daniels story. That was great!!

paula eagleholic said...

Shep was feeding, but he took off.

Looks like Shamrock in the bowl, and Hedgie is headed for Belle at the 3 spot.

stronghunter said...

Still waiting with you, Janet. I hope you can get some rest today.

Wondering what might be taking place at the nest. Thought I heard odd sounds. Belle is watchful.

stronghunter said...

I laughed at the Jack Daniels story, too, Lolly. One of those things college profs can say that we could not have said.

paula eagleholic said...

Judie, had to laugh at your JD story too. Glad you got a good batch of papers in.

stronghunter said...

Not that your kindergarteners would have known what Jack Daniels might be. At least, I hope not! My high school kids would have known and would have had a lot to say about it.

stronghunter said...

Always feels so good when you can post those grades in the gradebook.

Judie said...

Thank you, Steve.

Beautiful Belle and the babes basking in the sunshine. Looks so nice.

Ah yes, good ole Jack Daniels. Making more progress today but will likely still not finish completely.

Checked in on Isla. She was just sitting alone in the sun but very, very windy.

Lily's Eli and Ellie are beginning to venture outside the den.

Okay, back to the papers.

stronghunter said...

Oh, little one, do not go any further that direction.

stronghunter said...

Yes, back away from that opening. Belle, we need some more sticks there.

stronghunter said...

Belle is watching over the nest. I hope no intruders are near. She seems calm, just watchful.

Mema Jo said...

Sandi & Beach Goers : Mosquito Control Season Begins This Week in Del. Whoo Hoo - I thought they were still frozen!

And we all know from the news that Crabs still snoozing in Chesapeake Bay

Mema Jo said...

Hedgie is stretching out those yellow talons! I can see Shamrock's also.

stronghunter said...

Shep has arrived with a small tree, but He is not putting it where I think he should. Of course, I cannot see what it is like at that spot--about 5:00/

stronghunter said...

Looks like he is getting suggestions from his offspring.

stronghunter said...

Glad to see Hedgie(?) up and moving about. She was so flat that I was afraid Shep had stepped on her.

stronghunter said...

Why must these children hang over the edge of the nest in the spot not well-protected? Is Shep thinking the same thing? He is right behind them.

stronghunter said...

They have moved back a bit, but now they are pecking at one another.

stronghunter said...

I hope Shep is making a mental note to shore up that gap in the rails.

Sandi said...

Hi all! Home from tennis and then getting my hair done. No more dirty blonde with a little gray here and there - I've got my summer hair! Who cares if it's only in the 40s outside with a cold wind!!

Sounds like it's windy at the nest as well - glad there has been no drama today!

Janet, great news on Scout's progress so far!

Hoda, what the temp in BC today??? Weathermen are saying temps will rise into the 70s for NEXT WEEK - when I'm back in school! For now, I have the gas fireplace in the living room AND the one in the dining room going!!

glo said...

Dex and I are back from our errands. We only got about 5mins of off the leash park time before another very spirited and larger dog showed up so we just finished our walk on the leash outside of the park. New territory to Dex is good territory and he seemed to enjoy himself and ate a treat when we got back to the car. I think it was a good trip for him. Makes me glad. I hope everyone is starting to get a touch of spring in their days. it is so time. Tonight down to 30 again BUT tomorrow I will uncover my rose bushes and unplug the heater in my bird bath.

Janet said...

I was so RUDE earlier....my apologies...thanks steve for the new thread.....

Lynne2 said...

afternoon all!

Off today, shaved Puddy aka Pond Scum down and gave her a bath...hey, I forgot to mention there is a video of her from last Saturday on my FB page...

Getting ready to transplant those Morning Glories now.

Lynne2 said...

Janet, that is really good that Scout wasn't showing any neurological or physical signs! I'm sure she'll be just fine, hang in there!

Lynne2 said...

about my video....when I downloaded it from camera to computer, this one and the laptop, I can't get it to play! No idea why! BUT....for chuckles and grins, I uploaded it to FB, and I CAN view it there! WHAT?? WHY??

Linda said...

JUDIE.....Now you have me thinking....
Maybe that Jack Daniels would help me get through some of these last minute crazy tax returns. I have some clients literally scrambling for tax deductions!!

Today I had a client push to say they needed to stay well groomed for work and want to deduct haircuts!!

Hey, why not? Maybe make-up will be next, and maybe the tanning salon!!

Lord, help me.......

Mema Jo said...

Going out for a while to look for a bed pillow that is comfy as I should sleep on an incline... My recliner is really comfy but it is getting old hat sleeping at night in the living room. Wish me luck

stronghunter said...

I do wish you luck, Jo. Have slept in my recliner a few times, but truly prefer the bed.

Told Hunter to start getting everything ready to go to baseball practice. He is also supposed to do some chores his mom told him to do. His room looks like the Easter bunny had a moment in there. Hunter and one of his friends had fun throwing Easter grass at each other. Mom wants it cleaned up.

Hunter's response: "I have two hours."

Yes, it is two hours until we are supposed to be there. That child will make me crazy yet.

Lolly said...

Well, we are packed and ready to go. Strange to pack a suitcase as ususally we are just loading up the trailer. Take Annie to camp in about an hour.

Got my do done this moring...I am beautiful. lol That's what beauty shops do for ya, I tell ya!!

It has stayed cold and cloudy, sorta misty all day. Yesterday and today have been like the winter days we used to have...cold and damp. Jack remarked the other day that we do not have days such as this. Hmmm??? Someone must have heard him. :)

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Good evening everyone!!
Janet, I am so sorry about Scout!! That is just awful!!

Has been a busy evening and I am only 2.5 hrs into my shift. Veh rollover, head on collision, deer strike and we took about 13 calls just from the deer strike! LOL

Margy, I sorry I did not see the messages last night that you wrote. Jess says no way could she do this job. SHe said too much multi tasking. LOL ITs a learned trait really I told her.
A bear!! Oh my!! How wonderful. When we had the bear at my house, my dog too just barked at it trying to scare it away.

NOw to try to catch up here.

LYNNE2: question for you.

last night the emergency vet saidthat her exposure level was at a 50 and that was low....which is good.

dr. k thought that that was high, and i said but the emergency vet said that that was low....and dr. k said that she had not dealt with an antifreeze poisioning in 5+ years, so they are probabaly right....

any thoughts? new worries and doubts.

Thanks for your input....

JudyEddy said...

Belle is trying to feed the oinkers again

Sandi said...

Have been watching the afternoon nest antics. Poor Shep, no matter how small the scrap of food he finds, Belle steals it away from him and carries up to the 12 spot. And he let's her! Smart man!!

Paula, any luck with the job hunt?

Janet, any updates on Scout?

Chicks are eating AGAIN! No wonder there is so much whitewash around the nest - food in, Food out!! =)

JudyEddy said...

only one chick is eating the other can't keep itself upright for long always falling over LOL

JudyEddy said...

Looks like time for nap for the chicks Belle is doing the two step over them and picking at the bowl again I don't think they are interested in a nap lots of chattering going on

JudyEddy said...

Odd all the years watching I have never noticed so much white wash Maybe the other had better aim

Hoda said...

Glad to hear baseline on SCOUT is established and is normal with no issues. I hope it continues JANET.
Congrats on the FEATHER!

LINDA Just remember that YOU sign off on those tax returns. I would like to make it clear that I do not think US jails have tanning salons, make up or Jack Daniels either just in case you were wondering...Canadian Jails well they are another matter...they very well might have them.LOL!!! They are certainly modern and have better sports facilities than many schools!!!Yet I think you are signing off on US taxes for your clients so be careful...Conrad Black is still whinning up here about American Jails!!! LOL!!!

Hoda said...

I have to read back to JUDIE'S Jack Daniels story I think it is on the other thread. Will get there I am sure it is a good one!!!

Nelson is very generous. Picked up another donation for the Silent Auction at the end of the month. They doubled my request and added to it...The best coffee beans ever from Oso Negro and they gave us their best varieties in one pound bags also added dark chocolates as coffee baskets must have chocolate they said!!!.

Thank you I said.

Lynne2: The bear was at my grandson's property...there have been sightings like that there before. I have never seen a Bear in the wild

Hoping that things hold steady for Janet's Scout and continue to improve

Sandi said...

Have been on FB looking at photos from a teacher on my hallway. She and her family went to TN to visit family during spring break. Did you know there is an eagle refuge in Dollywood??? Tracy said she thought of me as soon as she saw it. Posted several pics of eagles, up close and personal! One of these days, I WILL see an eagle, up close and personal!

Margy, how's the bathroom repair going?

Jo, thanks for the heads-up on mosquito spraying in DE. It is too damn cold here for mosquitoes!! It's too cold for people - I cannot get warm with these temps and this wind!!! =(

OK, need to fix food for people and pets - later!

magpie said...

Happy Trails, Jack and Lolly, hope it is a wonderful trip and visit,
Oh the Things You Will See !

magpie said...

See Jewels's busy work report, sounds like I got out of there just in time....

in the midst of that miserable fog the other night I actually saw a deer cross the road...that made me even more nervous

magpie said...

Problem was solved, Sandi
....a hand spray in the tubby upstairs that was oozing through an uncaulked seal....
BUT landlord reports an increase of
20,000 gallons of water usage...it's not Me, nor Tom Sweetie, and Lorraine has been away...soooooo, it's either upstairs or a leak in the water line, which I doubt....
Different plumbers coming to check that stuff out Thursday...

Hoda said...

Thank you JUDYE I found it!!!

Good God JUDIE you actually told them you ran out of JACK DANIELS!!! I thought you were just daring!!! NO Not you you went ahead with it...I would have laughed too. Hilarious. You are one Rockin' Mama!!! As the stoked young people here would say.

Thank you LOLLY ATLANTA GEORGIA where JACK has family. Safe trip and keep us posted now that you have all the fancy technology...

I had one of those Motorola phones JUDYE. I kept it in the car as I used to drive in some wild uninhabited areas and thought it was a good thing to have a means of communications in the car!!! There were areas that were so remote I actually had no cell reception. It still happens in this part of BC...

SANDI 65 degrees today and headed to 55 for the weekend. The clouds are already rolling in but I still see blue. Still in sandals and no socks and went out without a coat or a jacket today as the sun felt warm enough.

magpie said...

So I feel somewhat compelled to reduce the debris field here tonight, not what was on my agenda...but I don't want the landlord to be too horrified, and it needs to be done anyway, for ME.

Thinking of all with great affection...including our Royal Family...
Wondering how Christine is coming along, AND how Kate's sister Annie is doing....

ISS was brilliant this morning,
high and bright in the morning cold

magpie said...

I did get to watch those adorable Royal Eaglets from work today....

Annie has gone to camp. We almost cancelled everything. Went to take Annie and the car....NOTHING! I mean everything was DEAD. I had just come home an hour before and no problem. Jack was baffled. He raised the hood and started searching. The battery cable was barely connected. He wiggled it....and we had power! He tightened it and off we went! Apologized to the girl at the vet's as we arrived so close to closing. Had to laugh, I think the girl who took Annie renminds me of our Lynne. When I told them she is now deaf, her reply was "And you were expecting that, right?"

JudyEddy said...

Good Evening Eaglebuds!
Was lucky enough to get our cam working at Chelsea this afternoon. I couldn't believe the Big Blob chicks!! Shep was sitting, but not on them. One was in front and the other at his side.I thought they'd get cold, but guess not! Then Belle arrived and everyone moved around. A chick PS across the nest!!!Are these two going to break size records???
Hoda, there is an eagle sanctuary near Dollywood called American Eagle Federation I think.
I had forgotten to check on Isla! Sounds like she's back!! Amazing osprey! Which reminds me I have to work on my pics. I need to send one to Greg K. at Park. The cam nest had an egglike ball in it!!!Bird rolled it with her beak!Must be something they brought in, or she would have been sitting on it!

Have to read back, but glad to see Scout is holding her own.
Hope Lori's buddy Kate's sister is OK.

Anyway, they are almost ready to go for whomsoever would like some. Cannot be planted til Mid May after last frost danger. Need lots of sun. They will get to be about 15 feet long so they need a place to twine around.

and MARGY, I'm going to put those NE Asters in dirt and in the frig per instructions on a garden site and hope I get some results this year!

the kidney values will tell us if there is any kidney damage. her baselines were normal when they ran the last night, so it should be "relatively easy" to tell if there was damage....and then figure out, if there is, what does that mean for her future?

thank you again for your continued support.

LYNNE2: yes, the ethynol glycol level was 50. my normal vet did say she hadn't seen a case of antifreeze poisoning in 5+ years, so she was "rusty" on it....but they said, it was low as opposed to a level of 75 or 100.....but i guess as hard as i try to continue to focus on the positive, tom and i get to talking....and when doc k thought that was high..........it was scary all over again. just looking for some objective input. i tried to google that information, but i must not know what to put into the search engine... thanks for your help.

well folks i am very very tired still.....am calling it a night. will let you know what i know tomorrow.

thinking of each of you...holding you close in my heart and thoughts. SED. light, love and healing....

Time to say goodnight. It is so danged cold. Too cold for baseball, anyway. I was freezing watching the boys practice. When Kathryn came, I left her wrapped in my jacket because she had left hers in the car. Silly woman, she should have known better.
Temps were in the low 50's and dropped into the 40's before I got home.

It is cold here too. Presently 47 and really really damp.

Shutting down, need to gather last minute things to take and then get to bed.

See you from the road tomorrow, but if that is not possible for some reason, I should be back by next Tuesday.

Take care! (((Hugs)))

Went to Walgreens to pick up some prescriptions and waited 15 minutes at the drive-through. The call button was not working. There was a hole where it was supposed to be.

I could see in through the window, and they were not waiting on customers at the indoor window, either. Finally got the idea to call them on my phone.

"Oh," they said."The buzzer does not work, so we did not know anybody was there." I explained that there was a line of us there, and the clerk nonchalantly said they just did not know because there is no buzzer. Geesh.

I was there when they waited on the person ahead of me. Geesh. Would have gone inside but that kind of thing just never seems to work for me. They would have been busy helping the people at the drive-through if I had done that. Besides, it was cold and Kathryn had my jacket.

Was biting my tongue while sitting in my car at the drive-through listening to the recorded messages on the phone, especially the part about the 'fast and convenient" drive-through.

Belle suddenly woke up and looked around for a moment, then tucked again.

Busy, busy day today. My Dentist's daughter (also a Dentist) sent 8 large garbage bags full of clothes to me at the church. Some clothing still had the price tags still attached. Very nice items! worked at putting them on hangers, but did not get finished:(

GG, who has been without a bridge for 2 weeks (bridge has 11 teeth) will finally get her permanent bridge on Friday! It has been two and a half months since this project was started...started with a Root Canal, then a crown, then 3 teeth pulled, then a temporary bridge (she has had two temp. bridges...both broke) She spent 5 hours with 2 different Dentists in one day. Don't know who was more tired, me or GG:) But come Friday, one hour with the Dentist and she should be done. I pray that the bridge fits well and that it feels comfortable with no further adjusting. She is wanting to eat Crab Legs with her new teeth!

Good night my friends. Sending love and prayers for all♥

Way too cold this morning - 15 degrees here...but no snow, so it's okay!

I will be going down to Maryland this weekend for a few days to get my taxes done, see Kate and the animals! I'm so excited to see them.

JANET, sounds like Scout is coming along fine. Pray the kidney values reveal good information.

SHIRLEY, great idea calling the pharmacy while you were outside waiting! Love the excuses...yah, right.

LOLLY - have a great time and a safe trip. Hope you can connect while you're gone.

Thanks for the prayers for Kate's sister, Annie.

Good Thursday morning Paula, Lori, Janet and all my eagle friends!

Sun is starting to hit the nest on Belle. Chicks are quiet and still. No wind for a change.

29 degrees here in Bethany. Clouding up today, pouring rain from a coastal low all day tomorrow, and then a warm-up for the weekend! Paula, you're headed to the beach this weekend, right? Should be nice weather for roof fixing!

Good morning,

Need to get some coffee . . . thinking that it is maybe not too late for the cyber cafe.

Lovely view of our eagle in the morning sunlight. And a few fish parts strewn about the nest. Good that our eagles are a hardy bunch as cold as it is this morning.

Belle is now up and feeding. I think the kiddies grew overnight. Still unsteady on their feet, but growing like crazy. Poop shoot over the side, and another one towards 12:00.

stronghunter said...

Hope that Annie is comfortable at home, Lori. Good that she is able to be there.

Belle just poofed. Something strange in the nest where she was. The remains of something bigger, I think.

Sandi said...

Chicks are keeping each other warm = beak to beak. being nice to one another. So cute!

stronghunter said...

Enjoy your visit to Maryland, Lori.

Yes, I thought calling the pharmacy from my spot beside their drive-through window was pretty smart, too, except I should not have waited so long.

I was not pleased that there was no apology. You know they have cameras trained on that spot, they know their buzzer is not working, and to top it all off, I was there when they were helping the previous customer.

Oh, I think that is an eagle feather that was under Belle. I believe Judy or someone mentioned that last night.

stronghunter said...

Shake, shake, and Belle arrives from the 12:00 position. I think Shep might be on the cam.

stronghunter said...

Good morning, Sandi, and good to see that Wanda made an appearance this morning. Want to hear all about GG enjoying those crab legs.

Hi, Janet!

Thinking about Scout this morning. Hope her return home is accompanied with good news.
