Quick visit.

Food forage was successful. Dinner is over. Kitchen is restored to order.

Hope Lolly and Jack had a nice dinner party tonight.

Ms. Kestrel is covering the eggs so don't know if there is a #5.

Phoebe's eggs should hatch this weekend.

Headed to my big chair to put my feets up. Tired tonight. Storm has passed us by.

Sandperson will be heading out at 11pm. Restful sleep for all.

Seems as though the second bomber has been taken into custody. Absolutely amazing efforts of cooperation among all the law enforcement agencies. Hope the SOB talks but bet he lawyers up.

Very grateful that the Boston events didn't end as badly as I thought it was going to.

Seems so odd that almost immediately after they let people out of their homes that things went down....there are many questions running through my head about that.

Hoda said...

LYNNE and JUDIE I would have you two ladies know that I DID NOT SAY A BAD WORD!!! It was my fingers doing the talking!!!

Glad it is resolved in BOSTON.

Good reports on the nest.

I do feel my symptoms are improving and I will participate with the Dragons tomorrow.
THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH.

Very impressive how everyone co-operated and the lock down of a whole city!!! Incredible. I loved when it was all said and done the citizens came out of their houses to clap and cheer on the Law Enforcement Branches. BIG MOMENT for me to see how much gratitude and appreciation was expressed.

THIS episode is over. But IT is not over by a long shot. I can't remember who said it this evening, but this is how these Islam extremists will come at us now that it is so unlikely (although I doubt impossible) to come at us the way they did on 9-11. And when I heard those words it gave me the chills because that was exactly what I was thinking once it became clear that I was wrong about it being a domestic wacko.....

Lynne2 said...

Glad you are feeling better Hoda, but are you SURE you should be do Dragon tomorrow??

Not too happy to read about Tornado warnings and weather advisories. Stay safe...

It's over here Hoda, but the southern states along the coast are still under the gun for a bit.

OH! HODA! I've been FINALLY drinking hot lemon water in the evening! YUK! I swear I sleep better though! I use a quarter of a lemon, squeeze it really well into a mug, and pour hot water over it but only may 3-4 oz. That's about all I can stand to drink!

Hoda said...

YAY for Lemon water LYNNE. It helps all the time for me.

Glad you are out of the weather area.

I will be very happy if for a month or so there are no tragedies or emergencies anywhere in the USA. You all need a break just about now would be a good idea.

I read this on FB and I am still laughing:
"Time to get Bin Laden: 3,000 days. Time to get the Tsarnaev brothers: 4 days. Welcome to Boston assholes..."

Good soggy Saturday morning Margy and all my eagle friends. Started raining here around 10:30 and continued all thru the night. Still raining now. Nice sleeping weather - left the slider open a little to hear the rain.

Board meeting for my tennis club this morning at 8:30am, then grocery store (too exhausted to get there after work this week), then cleaning the upstairs and doing laundry. Hoping to get all the work done today so I can play all day tomorrow.

One year ago this weekend, I met many of you in person. It was the non-open house at NCTC, and what a great weekend it was!!

magpie said...

Well, Sandi..that is nice, to
remember last year's meeting with you and Dennis ☺☺

Enjoy your "free time" especially

Changed my avatar to one from that weekend. It was so exciting for me to see the nest and our eagles in person, and even more exciting to meet some of the incredible, loving folks on the blog - Jo ( and a bunch of the Lennox family, incl. Miracle Michael), Paula, Wanda & Gene, Megan, Loretta, Robyn, Sharon, Bev, & Thelma (and Maddie and Justin), Margy, Lynn and Christie (didn't get to meet Carolyn), Lynne2 & Steve, Shirley & Kathryn, & Hunter, Susan, Lori, Dana & Monte, and Linda. I think that's everyone (used my cheat sheet for reference, don't have that good a memory)!

Yup, a great weekend!!

Really chilly and breezier today..

I hear the mailman - Saturdays are still a delivery day - How quickly things change.

I awoke this morning looking forward to my day.. Not like the mornings of this past week. I liked my daughter's comment when things in Boston finalized - she said: Why are they called BOSTON'S FINEST??? May no Boston or MA police officer EVER pay for a cup of coffee again - and hey, how about a steak dinner for these guys and gals who have worked tirelessly to see safety restored to their communities! Good thought ♥

Good Afternoon Eagle Buds !

JO, I agree with your dear daughter ! Yesterday, on NPR, I heard an interview of a Boston cafe owner---one of the few able to open for the day. He said his customers were traveler's with their back packs and suitcases, but no way to leave for home---and law enforcement officers who were not being allowed to pay a cent for their meals ! Like all, I'm so glad they caught that young terrorist, and alive, to face his Fate ! Let the healing begin for all his victims !

LORI, thinking of you as you're on the count down toward that test ! Hang in there, keep the faith and all that good stuff ! Hugs !!!!!

HODA, so glad you're feeling up to the Dragon race ! That's the spirit !

GLO, prayers for the wee babe, Mia !!!

WANDA, I empathize with you and your puter problem. Could it be as simple as clearing out cookies and old caches, like I did ? Hope so !

Love and prayers for all in need and for our dear, dear Eagle Family ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Good afternoon Kay! Thanks for your comments about free food for those who served so well. Last evening as they were leaving the crime scene the outpouring of gratitude from the Boston people on the street was over whelming emotionally.

JudyEddy said...

Hello Home for lunch and didn't find a new thread HMMMM

but I do have a pretty picture from NASA if you want to look at it

Hubble Sees a Horsehead of a Different Color
Astronomers have used NASA's Hubble Space Telescope to photograph the iconic Horsehead Nebula in a new, infrared light to mark the 23rd anniversary of the famous observatory's launch aboard the space shuttle Discovery on April 24, 1990.

Looking like an apparition rising from whitecaps of interstellar foam, the iconic Horsehead Nebula has graced astronomy books ever since its discovery more than a century ago. The nebula is a favorite target for amateur and professional astronomers. It is shadowy in optical light. It appears transparent and ethereal when seen at infrared wavelengths. The rich tapestry of the Horsehead Nebula pops out against the backdrop of Milky Way stars and distant galaxies that easily are visible in infrared light.

Hubble has been producing ground-breaking science for two decades. During that time, it has benefited from a slew of upgrades from space shuttle missions, including the 2009 addition of a new imaging workhorse, the high-resolution Wide Field Camera 3 that took the new portrait of the Horsehead.

good evening all.

i made it thru the rain, as the song goes.

we got up to ky in one piece last night and stayed at a nice holiday inn express. nice big clean room. we headed out this morning, grabbed some breakfast...although my tummy wasn't thinking that was a good idea. nerves.

so, we got to the house, met the folks in charge of the auction they were professional and friendly. that was good.

about 8 people showed up for the acutal auction....our sister and her posse was there, but they didn't speak to me. i got a lot of glares....but such is life.

i had a chance to walk the property one last time prior, to say my goodbyes, i didn't go into the house, etc. but i walked the permimeter of the land, at my own pace and that was all i needed to do to be done.

when the auction started, i was scared that it wouldn't sell.....but it did. about half the value, as what the auctioneer had told me earlier in the week. i was pleased, i thought it might go for less than that, or that it might not sell at all.

so that is done. as soon as the "gavel" dropped, we left. we didn't hang around, there was nothign further to do.

i did go and get some flowers and take out to our parents and grandparents....and for the first time ever i didn't cry out there. i had a sense of peace in my spirit.

now, we just wait for a bit longer til they close on the house, finalize everything...but all in all, it is done.

its beena long and painful, emotional road, but it is done and i am thankful.

beautiful day here in nashville. we mowed the grass and just cleaned out the gutters. gonna grab some dinner and maybe go out or something. olivia is spending the night with her older sister.

so if you all don't see me til morning, have a great night, thanks for all your love and support, and SED! light, love, hugs and smiles to all!

Hoda said...

Well Gracious me...a good good day.
The thunder held off till after the boat was launched.
An excellent luncheon served by the Dragon Executive and prepared by them too. They hosted over 56 of us. There are 79 Dragons in Nelson this year.

Speaking of Nelson and 4/20 SANDI, I went to the library after the luncheon and parked on the corner of Victoria and Stanley...Well this is just a block from the Nelson City Police! I experienced a Rocky Mountain High here in the Kootenays!!! Man oh man was it strong. My eyes watered!!! I would say I must have ihhaled!!!LOL

Hoda said...

Congratulations JANET and JUDYE on the sale of the house. I hope it is a good amount and that you each find a way to heal from the difficulties with the older sister being stubborn about it all.

Janet, glad the house sold, and I'm sure it's a load off your mind, and a big relief. (Hugs)!

Hoda, glad you felt better today.

Good chilly Sunday morning my eagle friends!! 40 degrees here in Bethany.

Janet and Judy, I'm happy for you that your parent's house sold at a good price. Closure is a good thing.

Lynne, did not get up to look at the meteor shower before dawn. Will try to pay attention to the time this afternoon b/c the next possible time for the rocket launch at Wallops Island is 5pm this afternoon.

The sun is coming up here and on the nest. All is quiet in both places. One parent is at the 12 position but I don't know which. Eaglets are snuggled together.

Tennis for me this morning. Didn't get the upstairs cleaned yesterday so that's still on my to-do list. Hoping to get outside to pull some weeds from the garden areas this afternoon and to see what perennials are peeking out. Hey Hoda, have your bulbs bloomed yet? Have you figured out what they are?

Make it a great day all.

Good Morning eagle friends, there is frost on the grass and windshields here. A cold one.

SANDI, hope your muscles warm up quick in this cold, for tennis. Good luck with your match today!

JANET & JUDY, so glad to hear the house is sold, and you got a good price that makes you happy. Closure, for sure. Big Hugs to both of you.

HODA, have a productive day at all your meetings. Carry your inhalers with you.

Loch Garten, the OTHER Scotland Osprey nest, does have ONE Egg,

good morning peeps!

a beautiful Sunday morning......sunny and cool, but i woke with a heart full of gratitude, peace, and love .....thank you for your support on this issue that has plagued judy and me. it is truly freeing to have that lifted.

HODA: yes, take your inhalers! my oldest was bad with regards to asthma..... not a fun situation....

i haven't read back over every single post, but everyone seems okay....and that is good.

JUDYE: i guess the movie title was so funny to me because i'm sure you and i (in addition to being the evil ones) are also deemed crazy...and mean, etc. by the crew in ky. btw, i forgot to tell you last night, they all looked as if they had been sucking persimmons....sour grim faces..... the entire time. go figure.

anyway, its going to be a beautiful day. i am going to enjoy it. going to chelsea's to help them to take down a dead tree in their yard, then grill....i have some housework to catch up on here.....and get ready for another week ahead.

i hope everyone has a lovely day. light, love, hugs, and smiles to each of you!

Good morning,

Pretty and sunny here this morning, but a bit chilly I think.

stronghunter said...

Glad that you have such a feeling of relief, Janet. Sad when all family members cannot agree.

Judie said...

Good morning.

EJ, Loch Garten, has an egg. Isla has two. One RTH egg has a pip. Ms Kestrel isn't sharing this a.m. Hedgie and Shamrock are basking in the cool sunshine.

Hoda, please take necessary precautions and have fun.

Shirley, nice day for outside work. Hope to forage for plants again today. Prices are robbery this year.

Janet and JudyE, congratulations on the end of a long ordeal.

Margy, enjoy seeing Megan and then your time with James the Wise.

Lori, thinking of you as you study. You will be just fine.

Hi Lowreeda and all the others I've missed trying to speed read.

Have a wonderful day.

Morning, all!

Watching our peaglets basking in the sun..preening.

Birthday party was fun yesterday, kids all had a good time, as well as the adults.

Came home and went over to Larry's to help him mow and trim. Realtor scheduled an Open House for today. Then we got him home and grabbed something to eat.

Going to work in the yard today while I am home.

Jo, no new job yet, still closing out the books, just out of the former location, working out of his carpet store.

PA Nana said...

Have a good day everyone. Will try to get back later.

paula eagleholic said...

The SED came from one of the chats on a nest cam...I asked what it meant...and brought it over here...can't remember which one, though. It might have been Harmon's nest last year...which is a Minnesota one, I think.

paula eagleholic said...

Found some peanut M&M's in the cupboard...yum

Big cam shake

Both eaglets side by side at the noon spot.

Up to 62° here now.

Good Afternoon Eagle Buds !

Slow day here, but if it's beautiful and sunny where you each are, as it is here in beautiful ☼HI☼, it's understandable !

Our family enjoyed lunching with dear friends who are leaving for retirement in NE. They want to be close to kids and grandkids---imagine that !

HODA, as a "fellow" or should that be gallow asthmatic, I say take care !!!!!

JANET, I was touched upon reading of your peaceful closure at the old homestead. Glad that chapter is closing for you and JUDY !

Love and prayers for all ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Wow, where is everyone today.

Eaglets in the middle of the nest, just resting and preening. Lots more black feathers on Shamrock.

Prayers needed for our family. Charlie's sister passed away today.
The hospital called and said they needed to get there. They took her off the cpap and she only lasted 10 min. I am somewhat very disturbed as to the fact that she was able to answer by nodding her head to yes and no qestions. So she was very alert as to what was going on. I am confused and very upset. Charlie told me not to go up with him, to not miss work today. I am in a way ok with that, and in another not ok. Cause I feel that I don't have all the story about her situation.

JudyEddy said...
