This past was totally sugary,
Tiramisu, home-made mini Whoopie Pies, and this morning, co-worker
brought in home-made Doughnuts....
Whee, more sugar in one week, than
in the last three months!
But it was fun ☺
Easter Week, after all....

Not looking forward to tomorrow. It is my "get ready for a colonoscopy day." When I went in to the doctor's office, the nurse asked why I had waited so long, and I said, "because I do not want to do this." Not really the answer I had planned, but the truth. She laughed and said that all of her other patients really like doing it.

stronghunter said...

Got a pic of the glowing poop, Margy. Will share it in a bit.

Wearing down now. Came home from baseball and did some tidying before Kathryn got home from work, then we both did a bit more cleaning.

This new job is keeping Kathryn busy which keeps me busy. She works ten hour days and every third Saturday from 8-2 or so. At least, that's what's scheduled.

She has actually been working more hours than that almost every day. She does hope this extra effort nets her a raise after the initial 90 days. It is tough, but being a single mom is not easy.

Janet, I laughed when I saw your post about Olivia being 11. Oh, do I know about the pre-teen years, and I do not think it was quite this way for my own children.

Hunter is actually growing a pretty good moustache. Really. I know that is unusual. And his voice has changed drastically in the past few months. He is still a skinny kid, though. It seems a little odd to see the facial hair and hear the low voice on this skinny 12-year-old.

He acts so confident until he is faced with a situation such as walking up to greet a group of people he doesn't really know, then he is a little kid again.

magpie said...

Enjoying those Hunter reports, Shirley....
I hope when the time comes that he meets up with some of the Momsters and Dadsters, he will feel comfortable

magpie said...

Hoping that Kathryn's extra efforts, above and beyond...will have good rewards, Shirley

Evening all...we are all slam wore out...took 1600 lbs to the dump tooday..from the roof..old water heater...toilet...kreosote boards....made the guys steak and scalloped taters...then we sat out by the fire.

Caught up on the blog...oh both osprey are here...one was eating in the tree next door at dusk

Have a good night..see ya tomorrow.

stronghunter said...

I think Hunter is pretty comfortable with the Momsters and Dadsters, Margy. You never know when this shyness will show up, though. It has not been that long since he would hide behind me when I tried to introduce him to friends.

stronghunter said...

Wow, Paula. I guess you are plumb wore out.

stronghunter said...

Going to say good night now. I will post those pictures tomorrow. Geesh, my stomach is already growling, and I have to start my liquid diet now.

Sandi said...

Good Sunday morning my eagle friends! Last of my 10 days off! =(

Paula, sounds like a productive but exhausting day for you! You go, girl!

Shirley, wishing you a good day today as you get ready for tomorrow. Find something to keep you busy so you're not thinking about food all day!

Andy, good news about no surgery needed! Hope you continue to feel better!

Judie, congrats on finally getting through all those papers!!

Tennis at 8am for me - early this morning!

Windy at the nest and the kids are huddled together and alone. Hope breakfast arrives soon!

Prayers for all the needs on the blog, especially Lori's dad and Dana's dad.

Make it a great day!

Good morning everyone. Well spring break is just about over and the weather is finally catching up! At least we will have good weather for our class Easter Egg hunts on Wednesday.

Thanks for the continued prayers for my dad. These are prayers of thanksgiving as he is doing so well. You would never know this man had a bunch of his insides removed and moved around. He amazes me every day!

Paula-loved the pictures of the men working on the roof. Now this may be a stupid question, but are they your sons?

Time to wake everyone up for mass.
Dinner here today. Guess we will barbecue chicken. Not sure what else we will be having. Annemarie and I are challenging each other today to stay on our healthy eating campaign. Met one of my neighbors yesterday who lost 50 pounds! Now that's two on my block who did it. This one also ran her first half marathon. I gotta find me some willpower. I only want to lose 15! How hard can it be dang it!

Gotta run. Prayers for all in need!

Good morning all. Dex had a rough late afternoon and evening last night but seems to feel some better this morning. He is holding his head up and looking at me and walked out for a nice drink of water. I hope for a better day all day. We will take it pretty easy. I am tired so will probably nap some today too. Hoping for some sunshine and a chance to maybe sit outside for a while. Have a good day all.

Judie said...

Good morning.

Babes basking in the early sunshine. Growing so quickly.

Glo, hope Dex is better today. Enjoy your nap time.

Jo, glad Michael is safely home.

Bright sunshiny morning here. Maybe some open windows later. Will need to plan out the remaining three weeks of school. Hard to grasp that I have only 7 more teaching days.

Kestrel box is MT. Snow at the bear dens and Ted and Lucky are no longer pals. Need to check on Isla.

Have a lovely day everyone.

good morning all!

STRONGHUNTER: thinking of you tomorrow. i understand the prep for that is the worst part of the whole procedure....(hugs) and happy thoughts for you....I love your answer. Honest.

when i had the flu then bronchitis a few weeks ago, my dr asked me if i had had a fever or wheezing and i said look, when a child is sick, who checks these things. well typically the mom. well when mom is sick, do you think anyone checks these things? really? silly doctors!

and as for olivia, it has really started in the last couple of months.....and i keep telling myself, i made it thru the other two, i can do this...but wow.....maybe its my age, my own perimenopausal thing that makes the difference, i don't know. but wow.

my vet called me yesterday: she told me she can count on one had the # of dogs that have survived antifreeze poisoning.....and she said that if we had been a few minutes later, likely scout would not be here.

now having said that her white blood count is quite elevated. this could just be her body's natural reaction to having this foreign fluid in her body.....so back in two weeks for another run of labs.

we are still on the watch for any damage to the central nervous system (such as ticks, twitches, fainting, seizures) , as well as excessive thirst, vomiting, or excessive urination. hopefully with this next set of labs this nightmare will be done.

she is acting completely normal. so i am hopeful.

i was so excited to book my airline tickets to michigan yesterday! i've never booked any just for me before!!!!!! i am really looking forward to this trip.

granted i will be teaching on Saturday and sunday, but part of the reason, and i suppose the impetus for me actually going to michigan of all places is i've been online friends with two gals up there for about 6 years now. when another friend offhandedly said she'd love to have a continuing education class there it planted a seed and i said i'll do it. she's been helping me to get marketing, etc going.

so this is basically a working vacation for me. i will fly out on a Thursday afternoon and return on Monday evening.....soooo excited.

MAGPIE: i don't 'think at this point in my life i would be happy if i weren't full steam ahead.....i have a difficult time sitting still. if i am sitting, like yesterday while watching amie teach her class, i was online in the morning booking airline tickets, car rentals, etc and doing some work with regards to my business, then i played all afternoon online....i don't just sit. there was too much chatter for me to read, so i played on my computer.

hope you all have a great day. grocery shopping in a few, then the crew wants country fried steak for dinner, with gravey, mac n cheese and green beans.....and then we are going out for hot fudge cake instead of going to the bowling awards ceremony tonight. (i dislike award ceremonies as such, so i avoid them).

everyone have a lovely day. will check in later. light, love, hugs andsmiles to all!

I hear eagle cries.

Good morning my fine friends.

glo said...

Janet wow your plans sound very exciting. I am also glad to read that Scout seems to continue to do very well. I think you caught it in time and you have a great vet. Shirley your family and friends are glad you have chosen to do something you need to do even if you don't want to. Well thats as far back as I can remember for now. Dex took his daily medicine for me. I am glad we could get that down. He is resting quietly by my side after a visit to the neighbors for only a few bites of chicken and a little walk. Doing ok so far.

Thanks for all the updates Janet.

magpie said...

I was typing, I think Shep bailed and Mom took over at the feeding, Shep just ate while he was there, guess he deserved a few bites of that fish he brought in

Mema Jo said...

Sandi - We will be in Seaford visiting family. Sory to not answer yesterday. We should get our licenses this week and head out fishing. Also, would like to take my wife down and show her the nest from the road before the tree gets too many leaves. We used to live in an old trailer before you get to the NCTC entrance...it's still there. Enjoy your days and take care all. I'll be checking in more this week as time allows .

Paula, sounds like busy activities at Paradise. What fun to see the ospreys! Had lots of osprey action at Park yesterday. The cam nest I saw TU now has TWO eggs.We were having a big river cleanup yesterday and some of the naturalists were at boat ramp clost to that O nest. Greg K said he saw an intruder male get in a fight with the nest male. They flew up, locked talons and both ended up in the water!!He said he's never seen that before.I've seen one bird in the water before that swam upstream! Greg's hoping that nest will survive. He switched cam to other nest which has lots of flugg! Have to dwnld camera and see what is visible.
Also saw MORE of nest eagle when leaving Park!!
Have a great day ☺ ♥

FROM FACEBOOK
IN HONOR, REMEMBRANCE AND CELEBRATION OF MOM NORFOLK

On Saturday, April 27*, 2013, at 1:30 p.m., we are inviting all to join us at Norfolk Botanical Garden to honor, remember and celebrate Mom Norfolk. We want this to be a celebration of all that she has done for all of us. Think what we have become because of her.

We want this to be a celebration of her!!!! Bring your tributes or mementos for her tree or her statue or both and we will just be happy we met her and were able to have her as part of our lives.

We also invite everyone to pack a picnic lunch and drinks and a blanket and we will find a spot and enjoy the Garden and each other. I’m thinking of bringing some music and maybe we can do an Eagle Dance or two. I think she’d like it! And of course, if Dad and the Missus hear music, they will be right there with us, too!

There are many events going on at the Garden that day. I spoke to them and they are happy to have us but the picnic area parking area will probably be full as will the picnic area. We can just find our own little oasis to have lunch! Let’s all meet at Mom’s tree at 1:30 p.m. and go from there!

We will be creating documents for those who can come and of course will have a Pocket Warriors document for those who will be with us in spirit! Eagle On!!!!!!!

(*We know the 27th is a day late, but we thought it might be easier for everyone to get together on a Saturday rather than a Friday.)

i did buy my tomato plants this weekend, but won't put them out for another 3 weeks or so. i got the smaller patio tomatos for my raised garden. i couldn't find any last year....glad i have them now. i love fresh tomatos!

Good morning.

Belle is baby sitting and the kids are plotzed in the sunshine. Lovely.

Isla and her laddie were both on their nest. Windy, of course.

Janet, not to worry. Many techniques now for learning disabilities if that applies. I wasn't diagnosed until age 48, year before grad school, and I still did okay. Children today have many options.

Going to tackle some laundry and some reading for this week. Finish stalking tomorrow and then on to child molesters.

Hoping Shirley is doing okay this morning.
