Prayers continue for Jo, Michael and everyone else too.

Here's a site that might be helpful for Michael's recovery, or even something the rest of us might need to use at some time. One never knows.

LOTSA HELPING HANDS .COM
This free service allows a private community to be created around an individual who is in need. It lets all of their friends and family members volunteer and help in different ways, or respond to requested tasks from a person helping coordinate the most critical needs. All activities go through the website which provides task coordination, assignments, scheduling, and group communications. Lotsa Helping Hands is an incredible service that has helped over a million people who are caring for someone they love. It eliminates all the back & forth phone calls, and those "Let me know if there's anything I can do" statements.

Wishing good things for everyone.

Hi,

Just have a moment. A cat is fussing at me.

Welcome Theresa Christmas!

Snitting--peeling and slicing. Okay. Interesting. A new one on me!

Glad to see the good news about Michael.

Kathryn mentioned going to the State Fair tonight. Maybe I will join her. Wonder if they might have some apples there that need snitting.

Good afternoon,

FANTASTIC NEWS about Michael! blessed be!
Hello to Theresa C. welcome to our little place in cyber space...

Been a good day. It is in the 80's and sunny; tomorrow barely 60 and rainy. Fall..........................

I think/hope this weekend will be less busy. I have yoga in the morning; livvy has ballet....promised i would take her costume shopping before "all the good ones are gone!" yikes. i will miss this; soon she will not be trick or treating any more. growing up

talked to the oldest today (we talk frequently, but today have info to share). she is officially, as of this coming Wednesday 27 weeks pregnant and all is well! she's actually LOST 4 pounds, and her belly is measuring @ 30 weeks pregnant. blood pressure and all is good. :) :) :) so happy for her. she's finding out, however, that being a mom of two, plus running a house hold, coaching soccer, and being room mom takes it toll and she's pretty tired....oh and bowling on the weekends.

they sure have changed things over the years. even back when i had livvy, since then they have changed. so many new things they can find out before the baby is even born! but what i am referencing today is that they do an HIV test at the beginning of the pregnancy and in the 3rd trimester as well! its federally mandated! just amazes me....

anyway, just wanted to pop in and say hey. hope everyone has had a good day. i'm planning an a lazy night; watch some tv and maybe finish this book this weekend i've been reading for a month ! its a big thick book and quite intriguing!

hugs to all

Good evening!

Mom and Dad just stopped by. Dad is doing well. No issues at all!

Kay-I take neurontin too! I have had neck issues for years. I forget the exact diagnosis, but when I stopped taking it, my episodes came back.It doesn't make me tired though, but it's probably a small dose and I have been on it for quiet some time.

Finished 1/2 my conferences, have the other half on Monday. So tired. Didn't get home til after 4 and I am ready for a beer!

Latest post on caring bridge concerning Jo's Michael.....

Written 14 minutes ago

I just spoke with my grandmother and the nurse. Things are progressing good. Baby steps! He was switched on his sedation medication and is handling the new medicine well. The nurse hopes that maybe tomorrow he will be able to have the breathing tube out. He was opening his eye and very purposeful today.

Continued prayers for Michael and Jo.

We are going to Denton tomorrow to see Laurel and family. Joseph's game is at 9 so we will not make it for his game. Going in the afternoon to eat dinner with them.

Joseph got his first middle school report card...All A's! Lowest grade was 94 in reading. lol
What are we going to do with that boy! He is also 1st chair in band, playing the trombone. So proud! Jacob on the other hand is being referred for Expo, which is their talented and gifted program. He is doing excellent.

I've been reading back and just got to Jo's news.

I don't know what to say. Jo, you know you have my prayers and support, too! And I'm still praying for Michael as well. You fight for the treatment you want!

Linda said...

Well......I hate to even mention that CANCER strikes again...

We got confirmation earlier this week that Dennis' Bladder Cancer is back and he will be having surgery to remove tumors on Monday.

It's a type of cancer you rarely get rid of and one he has battled over the past 10 years. It does come back, so he has had to deal with regular check ups for this.

Our prayer is that these tumors are early stage tumors that did not penetrate the lining or wall of the bladder. We won't know that until after the surgery.

We went through all sorts of hoops getting the tests done and approval for surgery this week. It was scheduled, then cancelled, and later rescheduled after he was cleared by his cardiologist. Whew!!

If it's not one thing, it's another.......

but God is Good and we trust He will once again take care of Dennis.

Linda said...

JO - Keeping you and your health in prayer, knowing you are more concerned with your son than yourself. I can't imagine seeing my son as Michael is and feeling so helpless. I know your faith is strong and you totally trust God in every step of this for you both.

DANAMO - Bless your Dad's spirit and determination. I pray he remains strong through these series of chemotherapy treatments.

SANDI - Keeping your Mom in prayer as she waits. That can't be easy for any of you.

KAY - Hoping and praying each day you see a little improvement.

LORI - How did your procedure go today? You're probably in bed by now, but hoping you're doing okay!

Judy got a feather -- WHoo Hoo

Visited with Michael late afternoon until 6pm. Still sedated somewhat but eye lids did open (eye balls rolled back) I coughed extra loud just in case he heard me and knew I was there!
Tomorrow, depending on his night, the breathing tube may be removed. The tube is only there to be sure enough oxygen is getting to his brain. That will certainly give him some freedom.
God is Good - I am ready for the long haul of recovery but Michael is a little ahead of schedule - Thank God!

I had a terrific autumn day. My little Yaris made it up the pass and I thought we were going to keep rising and rising and rising till we got to heaven!!! My oh My is it a steep pass. But little old faithful made it up there and back...it is actually a pretty good car.

Saw Thousands upon thousands of birds at the bird sanctuary. Most of which I did not recognize I just enjoyed saying hello to them...pretty colours...I can not believe how many varieties of ducks and colourful little creatures they are. I loved being there. Saw the eagle the supper large one, saw swans, saw elk and moose, saw a sign that said Turtles Crossing but no turtles...it was on the road into the sanctuary and made me laugh and I thought of JO.

Had a terrific salmon lunch and a salad and visited with friends and wished each other a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING for it is indeed this weekend in Canada. THe autumn colours are stunning and I feel blessed to have gone on the ferry and not driven the pass at night time...I made a complete circle. It was a great day.

Praying, indeed, JO for that tube to be put in right away and for the pressure to be relieved in Michael's brain.

These are the times that we really wish we understood EVERYTHING about these conditions...

I know that worry and prayer are incompatible so I go to the Word and find...

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God; and the peace of God that surpasses ALL understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7

We need to pray for my Dad. I received a phone call this morning from the neurosurgery doctor. Although my dad has had limited movement on his right side since the accident it got much worse in the last 24 hours. They will be doing surgery around 9-9:30 to insert a catheter in to drain and administer medications. I will keep everyone updated. My brother and I will be at the hospital with him. Thank you all for your continued support and prayers.

High 5's - Hugs and Tears

Noon time Saturday

Written 19 minutes ago
I have been here with dad for about two hours. I got here right after his procedure. The procedure went well. They did a follow up ct afterwards they decreased the fluid in his brain so there is less pressure. He will have two mri's shortly of his head and neck. He is very alert opening eyes more than I have seen since Tuesday night. I met with several of the doctors during rounds. It was good speaking with them. He is VERY active on his left side and they said since the procedure he has moved his right side but it is VERY minimal. The nurse moved him to a recliner. When he was all situated Patrick and I were in talking to him. He pulled me in eiyh his left arm and gave me a hug and began crying! Not just tear production belly cries. Miracles happen. The doctors asked if I think he recognizes me and knows I am here. I think yes! He then gave Patrick a high 5 and hug. I feel skills blessed. I know it is baby steps and it is going to be a long journey but I am confident my father is a fighter and is stubborn and will pull through this. Please continue to pray for him and a full recovery. It means so much to me and I know he would be overwhelmed with knowing how many people are praying and thinking about him.
Visitors is family only for now. I will post all updates asap.
Have a blessed day! ♥

Beautiful weather here today - decided to take the boat out, maybe for the last time. We were able to get it all the way down to the eagles' nest we found last weekend! Dropped the anchor and sat for a while. No luck on seeing an eagle but we DID see 2 osprey who haven't headed to South America yet!

Jo, glad to read there has been some improvement with Michael. Hope his progress is steady in the right direction from here on out.

Judy, I don't think I'd like a travel-size mouse and I def. wouldn't want a corded one. My vote is return it. Curious, what has this "bargain" computer set you back as of now??? =)

Am getting ready to read Margy's Audubon article and then order my new binoculars! Thanks Lynne1 and Margy, for your input. As of now, am thinking to go with the Nikon Monarch 10 X 42, but will do a little more research before pulling the trigger!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, Hoda!! We certainly timed our visit up your way quite well! Snow as far south as Colorado and presently 53 here.I am sitting here shivering 'cause Jack brought me a dish of ice cream.

We spent the morning harvesting pecans. There are now 3 large bags hanging in the shop to dry. We are harvesting from three trees as the 4th, which has the most, is not ready yet. We do not wait for the pecans to drop as we want to get to them before the squirrels. So, Jack climbs a ladder and we pick the ones that have the hull beginning to open. I pick what I can reach and pick up what Jack knocks down.

Have watched football all afternoon. First TCU and now Texas and WV.

Yes you timed it just right, the weather has turned and Jasper had snow, so it is time to wear the woolens...I am with Marino wool clothing and socks are a must and the heat gets turned on at night as it goes below freezing...this morning it was 30 degrees here and made it to 32 by ten in the morning!!! The colours are spectacular though...still no boots for me even though I see the young and fashionable wearing them already!!! I am in closed shoes and socks though...

Heading to the shower now. Prayers and love for all Momsters going out your way!

We have so many in need of prayer, I just don't know where to start!

At this point in time, Michael and Dennis need immediate prayer from us and of course they will be prayed for many, many times, because that's what Momsters do best.

I should have been in bed a long time ago, seems I just can't wind things up any earlier. Church tomorrow, and Jillians's shower in the afternoon. I'm pretty excited about all the festivities that go with a wedding and all the planning. What a great diversion for me, which I need right now.

Blessings for all my dear friends, prayers for wellness and lots of love♥

Good Morning Eagle Pals!

Suppposed to have rain here today, but it hasn't started yet. Better rain than snow, though!!!

MARGY, I imagine you won't be up for a while since you were up so late, like WANDA! Glad you have James with you this weekend!

JUDYE - very cute story about Jordyn & the lobster. Nice of you to NOT eat one in front of her. :)

Of course, prayers for our friends and family in need: JO, Michael, KAY, DMo's Dad, SANDI's Mom, and LINDA's husband Dennis, and THELMA's BIL. Hope I'm not forgetting anyne. Our list is getting long!

Good morning!

Prayers all around! Glad Michael's procedure went well and seems to be having a positive effect.

Aric returns to Dayton later today. I will have him keep our stink bugs at home Kay! LOL! I need to ask Monte to take that AC out of the window because I do think that is how they are getting into the house.

Good news on all the kids. Everyone, including Andrew, is doing well in school this semester. Thank God. Maybe Andrew has found his niche or at least is determined to get somewhere. Went up to his room and he was doing homework. Got a 96 on his first Accounting test. Yipee! Praying that it continues. Aric is looking into co-ops and hopefully he will have something for next semester. Adam and Annemarie both are doing well as well and should make honors this semester! What more can a mom ask for?

I know I have asked this before, but do we know when our cam will be up and running again? Getting anxious here, especially seeing pics of other pairs in their nests.

Sandi said...

Good morning Lori, Dana, and all my eagle friends!

Windy and chilly here and rain is on the way. Looks like there may be no tennis for me this morning.

Dana's kids are all doing well in school, Wanda is getting ready for a wedding shower, Hoda is celebrating Thanksgiving, and Margy is spending time with her James - all reminders that there is joy in our lives amidst the prayer needs.

Prayers continue for Michael for a full recovery, for Rachel and Robbie, for Jo and for Dana's dad and for Thelma's brother-in-law, and for Dennis as he prepares for surgery tomorrow.

Make it a good day all!

Good morning to one and to all!

It is a cloudy, cool morning here in Nashville. The furbabies and I are up. All is quiet at the moment.

Yesterday was such a good day. My yoga practice was serene. I came out blissful and most in love with the world. Temps (outside) were in the 40's, but according to MY body it was nice out. I went to yoga and back with the top down on my car wearing a pair of yoga shorts and a tank top. Lmho (h = hiney) .....how silly I looked to those who were freezing. But it felt super to me!

I did manage a bit of house work yesterday and Livvy and I went out to get her costume. This, per our household decree, is her final year of trick or treat. She is going to be a valley girl. lol. I remember the song from the late 80's. Can't BELIEVE THAT ONE came back to be a costume. It wasn't too crowded in party city, but the next few weeks will be. Glad THAT is done.

I also took her to get her hair cut. She went super short, which pleases me. Her hair is very straight and so this short cut, with the wedge in the back and longer in the front is very flattering to her.

We did the Red Lobster as well last night. How about that JUDYE! Tom had seen the commercial on tv and he and our pal Russell (well their stomachs) decided that was what we needed to do. It was yummy. We took, of course, looked at the lobsters, but I told of stories from Maine and lobsters.

Hopefully in 2014 we will travel to New ENgland (current vacay plan) and I we will make it to Maine. I want to revist some places I was, a healing plan for me mentally, so much went on there...and see some places I never got to see. And , go to the coast and buy fresh lobster at a good price and cook them like I used to do! :)

But until then, I shall wait. I never did like the claws much.....loved those lobster tails though!

Well, enough from me for the moment. Hope all is well with each of you. Keeping you close in my heart, for healing/hope/light and love. Smiles and hugs to each of you and your loved ones.... :)

Just ordered my new binoculars!! =) Read Margy's Audubon Magazine article from start to finish and then spent a lot of time reading the reviews for each of the binoculars in the "Best-Value Class" (less than $500). The Nikon Monarchs that Lynne1 suggested were in that class.

After much reading online about porro prism vs. roof prism binoculars (more info. than I ever hoped to know about binoculars), I decided on the Swift Audubon Roof Prism 8.5 X 44, then started shopping prices. Found the best price plus free shipping at an online place called thesportsmonkey.com. They should be a significant upgrade from the 7 X 35 Nikon Actions I've been using. Can't wait to get them and try them out at the local eagle nest, on our next trip to Blackwater, and on our spring trip to Shepherdstown (being optimistic that there will be babies to see)!

Rain started around 7:30 and has continued. Only 51 degrees - a good day to make soup and do school work! Hoping to hear good news about Michael today! Prayers continue!

Later all!

Hello to all.

Today is my oldest grandaughter's 16th birthday and she is thousands of miles away. To do something useful instead of moping, I cleaned out the kitchen cupboards where food is stored. I threw out a sinful amount of seriously outdated food. In that vein, there was a bag of fresh spinach that was going south in the fridge so I decided to make some pasta, bean, spinach, tomato soup I've made successfuly in the past. Wrong on that too. I used a can of tomatoes with chilies to give it some zip, but this new brand was way too spicy. I even added a quart of water to tone it down--still not right. I think it is going down the drain. I guess I'll have some just expired granola bars for my supper. LOL

Judye, like your new nest picsw. I stopped yesterday PM leaving Park and managed to find a spot on the road wher I could peak between all the leaves and see the nest. Hard to see all of it, but no birds around. I took pic of it couple weeks ago from secret spot in the woods off the road, and it looks the same. Maybe I'll put in nook. Only other "nature activities" around here are the begging squirrels. One gets on the window sill a lot and of course she gets peanuts from whoever sees her!I named her Missy. About a month ago I mentioned seeing a Mom S carrying a baby down & up some trees next door. Now in the past 2 weeks, we have seen 2 smaller squirrels playing in that yard. I think one followed the Mom up to our deck, & when it saw me, it slipped off the top step!

Not much new. I did forget to post that a cat scan of Dad's left foot on Friday showed that it is broken. So he had a boot on it for now. I also got a call from the neurosurgeon and he had viewed the MRI of the head and neck. The MRI results of the neck were good no injurys so hopefully his neck brace can come off in a few days. The mri of the head/brain showed no new injury just a much more detailed picture. That's it for now.

Seems we are all on here at different times, but oh so nice to get on here and read how everyone is doing, and what they've been doing.

Found an eagles nest near Larry's...saw one adult in the nest, and another on a nearby snag when we went out fishing Saturday. Then saw another Saturday afternoon flying over the house.

Went into Rehobeth this morning for a little shopping and a late brunch...weather was cold and rainy, but life is good! Saw a juvie eagle flying over the house when we got back...then I saw a juvie sitting in a tree right by the road on my way home!

Gonna try and get my tomatoes picked and covered up for tonight, then going to grab some soup and sandwich and watch the O's and Yankees, and the Good Wife!

Hope to BBL this evening!

Good Evening, Eagle Friends...

It's been a long, but productive and good day for us.

At church this morning, the Paster called us up and along with most of the church that came up to lay hands on Dennis and I, everyone prayed for Dennis. Wouldn't it be awesome for the Doctor to come out and say the cancer isn't there anymore tomorrow?? One never knows.....

Then it was our Paster Appreciation Lunch, which was really nice to be with everyone in that atmosphere.

We came home and got right to work. Dennis wanted to get as many leaves picked up as possible with his Leaf Vac and I cleaned bathrooms, vacuumed, did the floors and made Chicken Soup. I thought it would be good for a light meal tonight, but even better after surgery tomorrow night.

So, we're showered, clean and exhausted! A good exhausted!

Surgery is scheduled for 2pm tomorrow. They do have wifi at the hospital, so I may bring my ipad for something to do. I'll keep you posted.

Thank you for all your love, support and prayers...

Hi all! We be home! Had a good time at Denton! It was great to see the boys. They are both having such a great school year and both are happy. This is so good as Jacob's last two years have not been the best. We could see a difference in him, so much happier!! He has had problems and a lot of it is because of his size. People expect so much of him since he is so big. He is still a "little" boy. His teacher this year understands this. She also realizes he is not being challenged enough.

They are going to be moving in January and we went to see the new residence. It is older but we really like it. I am thinking positive thoughts about this move!!

LINDA......will be thinking of you and Dennis tomorrow, keeping Dennis in prayer. God be with both of you tomorrow!!

Still haven't gotten the stove working right. Sharon will find out what is up with that. She got it going yesterday but it went out. We have one of those pellet stoves. Oh well, for now it will be the space heaters.

T-Bird said...

I hope all is well with you all.

T-Bird said...

Yes it is a little early for me Lori. I can't even blame it on Buddy because he slept with Sharon last night. He left his Mommy in the cold. Sometimes he has to get a Sissy fix. : )

good morning eagle people!

i was just musing the meaning of the Eagle Totem:
(this may/may not have ever been posted here, but here it is in case it hasn't)

The eagle is symbol of the zenith.
A great reminder of your own ability to soar to great heights.

Eagles are messengers from heaven and are the embodiment of the spirit of the sun.

Those with an Eagle totem need to have an involvement with creation;
a willingness to experience extremes;
a willingness to use your ability
even if it means getting "scorched" a little as you fly high;
a willingness to seek out your true emotions.

A demanding totem, but one that offers so much reward at the end of the journey.

Its four-toed feet remind you to stay grounded even went soaring high;
Its talons remind you to grasp the things of the earth;
Its sharp beak shows you when to speak, how much, and how strongly.

This totem will show you opportunities and how to ride the winds to your benefit.
Eagle people can live in the realm of the spirit
yet still remain connected and balanced within the realm of the Earth.

You must become much more than you ever dreamed possible

As I was reflecting and thinking of each of you, I thought of the strength of each of you

holding each other up as is needed, and flying strongly on your own.

What a beautiful group of people!

Enough sentiment! Had a great weekend. LORI: I will try to get a pix posted

the next couple days of Miss Livvy....

For us: Tom has a prostate biopsy tomorrow. Not looking forward to that

Yet, be glad when its done.

This is fall break for Tom and Livvy and a regular week for me, except for tomorrow.

i am off tomorrow to take care of Tom, of course.

Have a superb day to one and all. holding all close in my heart and thought,

sending light, love, healing and comfort...

hugs, smiles, light and love to each of you.

Latest from Caring Bridge on Michael:

Monday Morning October 8
I just got off the phone with the nurse. There were no changes overnight. The neurosurgeon is going to monitor his drain and will clamp the drain for 24 hrs to see if his brain and drain the CSF on it's own and replace it on it's own with out too much swelling. He is opening his eyes spontaneously. He still has decreased movement on his right side. The nurse said he is very purposeful but not following commands. I will be visiting with his today and can report later and other new information.

Good morning everyone - I am so tempted to turn on some heat but instead I just put on my socks! Next I may need to put on my hat to keep the body heat from escaping! Make it a good day for someone and that should make you feel good about yourself ♥

One bright spot is my learning that Vincent and his mom and dad are going to relocate to Blue Ridge Summit PA. This will be close to the Mount where 10/15 he reports to work!
