Good Evening Eagle Buds! Just got up from a Panda Nap & will be hitting the hay soon!
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend and WV & W. MD didn't get bad storms.Had rain this AM & then dark & sun all day at Park. Wasn't rainy tho to cancel activities.
One of our small annual picnics was held today at Big White House Office Bldg. Man who drives all over with Park & Rec. mail had his Jamaican group in & we get leftovers!!!To die for--jerk chicken, beans & rice & grilled veggies!
Highlight of the day was watching the osprey cam. Chicks were chirping for food & finally an adult brought either a morsel or a minnow! It left & a juvie put it's foot on fish and started to nibble.
Sibling put it's beak on fish and played tug of war. The one holding it with foot got pulled up and almost tipped over!!!
Did not get the map JUDYE. Sad about the eagle...
I did some cooking and have been talking on the phone...catching up with the locals in Nelson to see what went on while I was gone...the season of Festival is upon us and it is possible to go to a festival somewhere in the Kootenays every two weeks during the summer...till end of September...

Quick note:
The ultrasound today was beyond anything I imagined. I had seen the black and white ones before, but to see that baby IN COLOR and 3D.....I broke into tears of wonder and joy. I cannot reveal til tomorrow what the gender is; but after 2 p.m. when the kids make the reveal to everyone I can...... They are having a barbeque and making a cake. They will dye (via food color in the mixing process) the inside cake a certain color to say which gender. The cake, of course, will have frosting so noone will know til the cake is cut.
I hope they have a great turn out.
And, as of now, we are less 2 more animals!!!! We only have one extra now. :) The one cat transitioned in this morning without a hitch. So when she came to get more stuff, she took the 2nd cat and one pup. The other one will go later this week when the back yard gate is fixed.
Been rain rain raining. Not compliane, laine laining..... its been soooooo long since we've had nice drenching rains as such. And its 30 degrees cooler!!!
I got my deck straightened up tonight. Tomorrow, the house. Been lazy all afternoon, we sat and watched movies. Now, I'm going to trade the laptop for my book and call it a GOOOOOOOD night!

Good morning to one and all! There's this bright shiny thing in the sky this morning.....oooooh, yeah, i think its called the SUN....lol. Warm and muggy out there, but wet and green too. Nice morning.
I wish I were going to the kids bbq this p.m. but alas and alak, I cannot. They are cool as it is mostly their friends, but because I was there yesterday, they are okay.
Today, Tom's brother is coming for dinner! If you remember, we stopped by his place two weeks /three weeks ago while we were in Florida. They had not seen each other in 20+ years. We had a big family shin dig at a local Mexican place the other nite, and Tom wanted me to cook dinner for him, and maybe the "new" sister as well tonight.
(New sister: Tom grew up knowing he had 2 sisters and a brother. Last year DCS sent letters to all, SURPRISE mom had had a baby about 18 months before Tom came along, and told everyone baby died in birth. Nope, had been given up for adoption and here she is!)> I thought it was kind of cool......I haven't met her yet, but would like to.
Anyway....that was an adventure in and of itself. Point is, they are coming for dinner and I have a house to clean and food to make.
I was going to Drum Circle this afternoon, but I suspect it will rain.....and I'm not taking my djembe out in the rain. They probably won't have it due to the weather....but I was hoping to go. Maybe next week?????
Been wanting to go to this....but wasn't sure how welcoming they are. Talked to an acquaintance and he said they are very friendly and welcoming....so eventually I will see.

Had fun with Luke here yesterday. He is a riot. He loves our backyard. At home he does not ask out except for business, then he wants back in. Here he begs to go outside. We do not have a fenced backyard so we have to stay outside with him. He stays right with us...loves hunting for toads. He had one on the patio last night and chased it all over, his tail a wagging. So cute!
Lori, Jack and the boys were going to take the telescope out last night, but it was too cloudy. Did have a storm pass us by, we got wind and a bit cooler but no rain. Oh, it was a 10 inch rain...10 inches between drops!!! Grrrr!
Can not get the cam up this morning. First attempt it came up momentarily, then the cirle thingy. Now I get the message. Sure wish they would figure out the problem and fix it.

The Grans friend who lives in Johnson's landing is away on holidays and is not in the area...glad to hear she is safe and I hope her property is safe...the whole community has been evacuated. 35 homes there. Some refused to leave and food is being brought in by helicopter...

OK Vacuuming is done and place looks and feels much fresher...sometimes I think instead of using a ventilator I should just vacuum more often. I do it once every two weeks and there is not much traffic in and out of this place and I take my outdoor shoes off when I enter so I thought this is enough...maybe not...I like it when I sit in the flat after it is vacuumed and dusted...so off to dusting I go...
Oh and when I go grocery shopping I will look for none dairy ice cream so I can participate in the National Icecream day...I love Chocolate Pecan Coconut Milk ice cream...maybe they will have some in the health food store...

The church service and then the singing by the Vacation Bible School class was very enjoyable - Alexis did very well as she is quite the performer! ♥
Mike and I were finished there at 11:30 and decided we could make it to Market. And so we did! I got to see Megan and get a bouquet of her beautiful flowers. She is doing well and said hello. Then we had lunch at the Mellow Moods where I got my Smoothie - this time it was banana and strawberry. It was hot out today & the heat always tires me out. Home we came and UP went my feet.

THe Gran from Johnson Landing got in touch through an email and she and her husband and her property are well...great sadness for the loss in the community. She will stay away from the area till it is re-opened...

Dearest LORI - Please get those tests done ASAP! Pulmonary Fibrosis is NOT something to take lightly. I am so sorry for the discouraging news your doctor has given you, but the tests may confirm that it is NOT that, too. Keeping you in fervent prayer that you are okay.

So very happy to hear you are expecting a granddaughter! I hope and pray Chelsea continues to feel okay and has a happy and healthy pregnancy. Congrats to them for finally closing on their home, too. That was way too long of a wait for them! Love how they chose to tell everyone the sex of the baby.

We are heading to FL in the morning to work on our condo my brother had been living in when he passed. Lil has moved out and there is work that Billy had started in remodeling the kitchen that needs to be done before anyone can live in the condo.
It will be mostly a working trip, but we will get to see family and our boys!!
I'll probably be scarce again for a while, but know you're always in my thoughts and even though I don't always post, I do catch up on what is going on.
It sure seems to be a busy summer for all and I've enjoyed reading up on who is doing what!!

Last week was a very stressful, and extremely busy week at work. SO many VERY sick animals. Tensions have been running high.
I got in trouble for a good deed on Friday.
I've been just kind of laying low this weekend. Still processing all that happened this past week. Will fill in details another time. Not looking forward to work tomorrow as we were already completely booked for Monday and Tuesday by the end of the day on Friday.
Glad Dex is feeling better, and that Judy had a good birthday, that CarolAnne has some rain, and Janet will have a new granddaughter with a grand name!

Judy, some days are good, some are not too good. I wish this would stabilize.
I've been alittle bummed after going to the regular doc on Monday. Need to have a sleep test, and she refered me to a Pulmonologist said she thinks a scar I have on my lung is pulmonary fibrosis. She didn't think that when she looked at it 2 years ago, so I'm confused. Also have to have one of those tubes down the throat tests again. Just seems like a lot...for me.

Miss Lorelei isn't due to around Dec 22....hoping she DOESN'T come that day as that was the day our Dad transitioned into the next realm...... Chelsea usually delivers early, so early or late, but please not the 22nd. Its still a very difficult day for me.

Getting late again! Well, we got almost nothing as far as rain drops falling! Glad I was out 1/2 the day playing with plants. They got deadheaded, watered, holes dug by squirrels filled! This is the wortst luck I've had w/flowers this year. Guess it was the Sahara Desert weather. At least I got pics when they looked their best over a month ago!

They got transferred from WA state & think they are on the East Coast! DUH! No returned calls or emails from other family members! Oh Well, we tried.

Good morning everyone. Another scorcher of a day for much of the uS. Corn in the cornbelt is very very stressed. I would suggest you stock up now on canned vegs. it's not going to be good at the grocery store. Dex and I are off to coffee and dog treats. We will be inside much of today. Vet says she thinks Dex is mostly stressed by the heat. He isn't out that much but he surely has a pretty heavy coat when he is. I am glad MaMa Belle had a nice long visit. Love that bird.

I confess....I broke a rule. Got up at 6 to let a yowling Annie out. Won't go into details, but I ended up falling. Think I just suffered a few bruises, but needless to say, I did NOT go back to sleep. When I peeled myself off the carpeted floor, picked up the kitchen table I knocked over, the door was wide open and Annie was strolling away towards the bedrooms. I scooped her up and put her OUT! Grrrrr!

Thank goodness it is only a wet noodle....thank you to "no canes". I am bruised and sore, but okay.
I am home. Have been to court. They deferred my jury duty to Oct. 29. Yea! I can handle it then. That gets us by going to the beach, Camp Hawkwood, and our trip to Canada, as well as a church retreat I hope to go on.

Wanda, it seems that both of us are following Gina's struggle to get new lungs as the one she received is rejecting her body. She is a joy and her parents are remarkable!

Eileen has returned home, but Julie is checking in on me daily. They have my house all ready for the arrival of my son and granddaughter on Friday. Lauren will stay with and help me and Lee will be in Julie's guest room. He'll arrive each of their three mornings here to be our breakfast chef. Julie's pool will provide the only entertainment needed. I'm so looking forward to the visit !
Also looking forward to posts from SANDI "Out of Africa" and wishing LINDA well as she and her Dubby do their work in Florida.

you all are going to love this. i fell asleep yesterday with a swallow on wine left in my glass in my left hand. i woke when it spilled onto my keyboard and me! my left shift key will now NOT work. To captialize i have to hit the right shift key. jack used a blow dryer on the keyboard and melted z key and those under it. to type z i have to press really hard. i think now is the time to switch to our other laptop.
Just understand when i sometimes do not capitalize when i should or substiute x for z. LOL i press z then with two hands. heaven help me!

My girls are coming over Wed to help me clear out of my closet the sizes I can't
