Hi Steve. Welcome back and thank you for the fresh thread.

So pleased to know that Kathryn is okay and the surgery successful.

Jo, I seem to recall a fable about a woman who tried to remove an eaglet helmet from a nest. It was not pretty for the eaglet.

Bye

Whoo Hoo Judie You get the feather!

Steve, I really hope your trip was enjoyed and good to have you back - still have our 2 in the nest but they are doing some very high jumping.

Did you mean it was not pretty for the woman - That's what it said in the
fable I read........ lol

WOW, a new thread. Thank you, Steve!

Thanks for the call over Judie!

Another lazy, gray day around here. Looks like it's about to rain again, too.

JO, so sorry to hear about the killdeer nest and the children being sad. I hope nature shows them a good turn of events.

Get well quick wishes for Kathryn!

SANDI, have you heard anything on Josh's surgery?

I saw Kay on our Momsters mail - hope she gets in here and gives us an update on her day........

How nice to open up and find a nice new thread ! Thank you, Steve, and I too hope you had a nice trip !

I've already sent this via Momster Mail, but for those who don't go there much, will repeat here. Thinking of LYNN on this special day and lovingly dedicating this poem to her memory. Also with love to her precious Carolyn and Christie.

Eagle Poem
by Joy Harjo
To pray you open your whole self
To sky, to earth, to sun, to moon
To one whole voice that is you.
And know there is more
That you can't see, can't hear
Can't know except in moments
Steadily growing, and in languages
That aren't always sound but other
Circles of motion.
Like eagle that Sunday morning
Over Salt River. Circled in blue sky
In wind, swept our hearts clean
With sacred wings.
We see you, see ourselves and know
That we must take the utmost care
And kindness in all things.
Breathe in, knowing we are made of
All this, and breathe, knowing
We are truly blessed because we
Were born, and die soon, within a
True circle of motion,
Like eagle rounding out the morning
Inside us.
We pray that it will be done
In beauty.
In beauty.

"Eagle Poem" by Joy Harjo, from In Mad Love and War.

Good afternoon/evening, Everyone!

Have been trying to stay busy with work today. Can't stop thinking of Lynn on her Birthday. Pray that God will get Carolyn, Christie, their families, and all of us through this day. Happy Birthday, and I love you, ♥Lynn♥!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, CANDY & JIM!!!!

and once more,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WV DANA!!!

Glad to hear that Shirley's Kathryn is OK after surgery. Prayers for a speedy recovery!

Prayers continue for Josh and his family. Hoping to hear a good news update.

Jo, so sorry about the kildeer nest. Hope she lays more eggs!

Lolly, sorry, too, about the fallen robin's nest. Doggone it!
:o[

Chrissy, love your poem for Lynn!
Perfect!

Welcome back, Steve, and thanks for the new thread. Thanks, Judie, for the call over!

Have been thinking of Kay. Pray that the back brace has eased her pain!

Well, gotta get back to work. Will check back in later, after dinner.
Hope we all can make it through this day. (((GROUP HUG)))!! I love ♥us♥!!

Will have to back track for some posting catch up, but can see from this thread that Kathryn's surgery is over. Here's hoping she has a speedy recovery ! Hoping to hear that Josh is doing okay, too.

Love seeing Missy and Bro, busy, busy, busy and thriving !

I did get the brace yesterday, but am not to wear it until the week before surgery and then only for a few hours a day. The doc says I'd only lose muscle tone if I were to wear it now. Disappointed as I hoped it would help with the pain. I'll be wearing it during all waking hours for weeks post-surgery. Will get my pre-surgery physical tomorrow. Then expect an adrenaline flow as Eileen's family arrives Friday and we see Seth perform in "Antigone" ! Saturday the kids are going to clean my deck and outfit it for summer. I'll only be a spectator, but will love having them here !

Kay said...

SHEP ARRIVES WITH A NICE FISH ! MISSY AND BRO MUST NOT BE HUNGRY. NEITHER OF THEM ARE POUNCING ON IT YET. SHEP OBVIOUSLY HAD A SNACK AS THE FISH HEAD IS MISSING.

Kay said...

SHEP MOVED TO 6 SPOT TO WORK ON NESTOVERS AND BRO IS WATCHING INTENTLY, BUT NOT BEGGING TO BE FED.

Kay said...

LOLLY/HODA, I see another Momster meeting is on the horizon. Whoopee ! I love us, too !

MARGY, belated sympathy to you and Dwain's family as another loss is suffered.

NOW BOTH EAGLETS MOVE IN AND SHEP SHARES SOME OF THE OLD FOOD WITH THEM.

Kay said...

JEWELS, so glad to hear Charlie will soon be rid of that troublesome gall bladder !

NOT MUCH ENTHUSIASM AND SHEP POOFS !

Time for dinner and settling into the evening routine. See you here again tomorrow....Love and prayers to all and thanks to you who are praying for me ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Oops, almost missed out on adding my good wishes for DANAWV. A day filled with our longing for LYNN, but still a day of celebration for others---and for all of us when we remember LYNN is in Heaven and suffers no more.

JudyEddy said...

THANKS FOR THE NEW THREAD STEVE AND NOT TO WORRY WE KNOW YOU ARE ALWAYS A BUSY PERSON AND WE KNOW YOU WILL REMEMBER US WHEN YOU CAN AND GOOD EVENING EAGLE BUDS

JudyEddy said...

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

The flying Wolenda (sp) was recreating a walk similar to one made by is grandfather. Bet Ceil watched up close.

Shirley, glad Kathryn has eaten and is resting. Best thing she can do right now.

Kay, I guess some of us misunderstood. Sorry the brace cannot be worn now but the reasoning makes sense. Nurse Lynn would say that. Just enjoy having family around as well as Seth's performance.

I do NOT have a feather. It is now in the secret hiding place far far away beneath the melting snow. I cannot be interrogated because I CRS.

Did not hear anything from Josh's mom today at school - really didn't expect to considering how long his surgery is scheduled to be. But thanks to all of you for keeping the prayers coming!

Kay, sorry that the brace can't offer you any relief pre-surgery! DARN!

Jo, what a sad life lesson for the grandkids! I know it's all part of nature, but I bet they were so broken hearted to go out to the nest today and see the eggs gone! =(

Shirley, glad that Kathryn's surgery went smoothly today and she is already sipping soup.

Anyone who has moved recently who can recommend a good moving company in the Baltimore area?

I had a great doctor visit, today. This was with my primary doctor...regular visit.
I have been having pretty fierce pain in my hip and have been so full of anxiety, thinking, HIP REPLACEMENT! Doctor said it is from walking with the cane for such a long time, that now, without the cane and still a little off-balance from the surgery, that a tendon has been pulled from the hip to the knee (non-surgical leg). I am to continue my exercises for balance and the hip will get well on it's own! HOORAY!

Capt. Gene took GG to get her Do done and she said she was proud to show off her handsome son-in-law;)
(we had conflicting appointments).
She says she is having NO pain today. Doctor says she may feel no pain for a few days, but it will take the 3rd round of treatment to keep the pain away for a year or more. DANA knows of these treatments...works for her for a year or so. I'm so anxious to see if this works for GG!

Jo, I didn't catch what happened to your eggs but I read something about a turtle. Sorry you lost them :(

I just want to say though I miss Lynn, I feel she is a Guardian Angel, Lynn always took time out of her day even when she was feeling sick and always asked about Tori. I will never forget that.

I need a favor from everyone if possible,

Gina Kosla a new friend of Tori's had a bi-lateral lung transplant March 10, 2011 and was doing well until this past week or so. Gina is in chronic rejection and will undergo a very intense treatment plan and she also has an infection in her lung.

Her mom Reyna mentioned Gina loves to read posts on her Caring Bridge as it gives her positive energy, would it be possible to reach out to Gina and send her positive thoughts on her Caring Bridge? Gina turned 21 March 4th and will be completing her last year of college next semester.

Tori is also saddened by the latest development but being transplant patient herself she knows the risks and that it can also happen to her, though we hope it never happens we still need to be realistic.

http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/ginakosla/guestbook

that is Gina's caring bridge.

Thank you and I love you all.

OH one more thing, Tori had her bronch and biop, though they saw a little irritation they are equating it to something else and not concerned about it. So far no rejection and her airways looked white and great, we will know more tomorrow when the results from the biop are in.

I want to post on CB but I will wait a few more hours until Gina is settled in, I know she will be happy for Tori.

Lynne2 said...

oh, I called the park ranger office at our favorite campground. Yes, budget cuts are the reason for the trash/water stuff. They considered closing the park altogether!! She said that the water pump had to be shut down because the cost was over $10000 last year to them...it's got a purification system. The pump sits in an open area right at a local through road at the edge of the park. They did some investigation, and discovered that local residents and farmers were coming to fill jugs and up to livestock sizes tanks with their water! What a shame that some have to ruin things for others. UGH.

Anyway, she said campers in our area can bring the trash to the next campground over, and also get water there as well. It's only a mile or so up the road, so not so bad after all!

They are saying Lynne2 that she laid the Black Vulture egg at 10:32am Central time. That she was in labor 6 1/2 hours???? What it said on the chat. The person was watching it.

I would be most pleased if the baby on our nest edge would step down. It's FACING the wind and that makes me nervous.

Good move on Kathryn's part! You know, I FB'd her last night....I think there is a negative psychological phenom that occurs when you go home from the hospital the day of major surgery. It leads you to believe that you SHOULD be feeling better than you do, because you are home!

oh JOY! Baby off ledge and back in bowl with sibling, beaking.

Good Morning! Wow, it certainly is windy at the nest. Hang on peaglets!!

Another beautiful day in store for us, but tomorrow chance of rain. Bring it on! Jack is moaning over the fact that the cheesecake is leaving the house. Geesh...he will get some! LOL Think I gained weight just baking it. Well, I did nibble on the pralines. LOL

Wish I was close enough to attend the memorial for Lynn. It is still so hard to get a grasp on the fact that she is gone.

Thinking of Kay and hoping she is hanging in there!! Kay, hoping you do find moments of comfort and no pain.

oh dear, I'm sitting here watching wildlife like I have no place to be....need to hurry and get ready for work!

Have a good day everyone, I'll check in if I can!

Lolly said...

LOL I was thinking, Lynne, that you must not be going in to work today.

It is a windy one out there today and it has chilled down.
Lynne - Thanks so much for the Cam Review! I hope the loon egg hasn't cracked.

All meds down the hatch and inhalers finished - Took an allergy pill this morning.

Missy and Bro are hunkered down side by side.

Hoping we get a report on Josh
Gong to Gina's Caring Bridge

Good on Charlie taking care of you with dinner and flowers - I think I'll like him! Anxious to see Jess and Jen Saturday. And I'll also get to meet Shannon. It will be such a sad time but hopefully Love will be felt by all.

I do miss Lynn - every day so far since she left us..♥

Yes, Lynne, I think you are right about the psychological effect of coming home so soon after surgery. We were a little surprised at how quickly they sent her home. She was still complaining about being in pain and was pretty uncomfortable.

In one respect, it is nice to be home, but you are away from those who can help if something is not quite right. There is bound to be pain when you have an organ removed.

Her doctor is big on having you up and about to prevent clots. He was a partner of the doctor who did my mastectomy back in '95 and I had met him then. I had to sit in a chair or wear those leg inflatable things to keep him happy.

Hunter has a baseball game today. We haven't decided if Kathryn will go. She might go and sit in the car. No driving for her yet. She's still on pain medication.

I am off to start my day. Have a good one!!♥

I think I will take a little nap.

Shirley - tell Kathryn to stay in the
Recliner today - There will be other
baseball games! ♥

Finally heard news about Josh. Surgery was successful. Lasted longer than the docs anticipated 9from 7:30am til just after midnight last night) b/c something was "nicked" that resulted in some spinal fluid leaking. The docs were able to repair the leak but he will have to stay in ICU and lay perfectly flat for an additional day, so all day today and then again tomorrow. He will be in the hospital for at least a week. But he was able to wiggle his toes and move his legs when he came out of the anesthesia, so no paralysis.

Thanks for keeping the prayers and positive energy coming!

Shirley, happy to hear that Kathryn is doing OK today.

I emailed Carolyn last week to explain why I will not be at Lynn's memorial service on Saturday. I HAVE to be with my mom, helping her with this move. I'm sorry not to be able to attend, but I sure will be thinking about Lynn, Carolyn, Christie, and all who are able to be there.

Have the bathrooms been placed on hold or are they finished.

I would like to say thank you to all for your prayers, well wishes and positive thoughts for Gina, it really means a lot to Tori and I. I was brought to tears reading your comments to Gina. She is a sweet girl, very outgoing and a real trooper with all she has been going thru the past few weeks.
