Good morning everyone. Haven't made it here for 2 days so this morning its my first stop. Porch deck is about 85% done. I wonder if i will finish it. I am down to those individual spindles. Maybe one a day and it will be done in oh 2 or 3 weeks LOL. Photography has become very busy for me. That is a very good thing and I am loving it actually. Time to peak at our cam. Maybe I didn't miss breakfast at the sycamore palace today.

glo said...

OK this is not cool. They are both sitting on the edge of the nest. one at 12 o clock and one at about 3 .

floralgirl said...

Morning:) Seems to me that show should be called Lori and Loo, it just rolls off the tongue better!

magpie said...

I think they are waiting for some fresh breakfast, Glo!
Soggy night, lots and lots of storming late in the evening...
I think they'll be okay, at least there is NO WIND !

Take care, enjoy your projects, especially the photography...

Time for me to head to work now....
ttfn all, Hope today is a Good, Better, Best Kind of Day

That's a good thought, Megan...

Been hearing towhees for weeks, but you know those rascals don't present themselves for a view, At All !!!

Sandi said...

Morning Glo and Megan! Margy, I haven't heard that bird since I first opened the cam. Isn't that always the way! Time for me to get a move on! Will try to check in from school! Have a good one, my eagle friends!

floralgirl said...

Yes, I hear the towhees all the time in the yard, the male comes up often and eats birdseed at the feeding area in my garden.

T-Bird said...

Magpie and Sandi I hope you make a good day at work. Someone has got to make the dough, huh? : )

floralgirl said...

Hey Thelma :) I knew you would like that,Lori, really it just sounds better.
Off to work in the gh before it gets too hot in there. Have a great day!

Janet said...

Good morning to one and to all. Wednesday again. By circumstances, I have no massages today! One client is out of town and one rescheduled for tomorrow....

Another beautiful day in Nashville, 54 right now. It feels great out there. HOwever, heading to mid 80's today, and 90's in the next few days. YUCK

JUDYE: i KNOW everyone missed you, but certainly you need time to deal with your loss. You have people ready to help and to support you, (me included) and you know this. Just take your time, you know grief has its own time line. Love you, Sis.

Spent a good part of yesterday afternoon in my flowerbeds and helping a neighbor trim the brush on one side of the street. This morning she and I are going to rake the brush into a pile so maybe one day the city will haul it away. My neighbor is 73 years old and quite the firecracker! It makes me sad though, she is scared of her own shadow sometimes......

My outside critters are keeping me entertained. The squirrels are quite brazen! They get right up on the porch and play. I put out some oranges in hanging feeder for the woodpecker and the squirrels are eating them!

Not a lot going on. Going to work in the yard again today and I have a noon appointment to get this mop (aka hair) trimmed today. I feel like a shaggy sheep dog, lol.

Everyone, have a good day. JUDYE: keeping you close in my heart and thoughts. Hugs, light, and healing to all....I'll check in later.

Good morning! Jack is already back from looking at the car with the adjuster. She is still there and has a lot of figuring to do. Have picked a place for repair, car will be towed there. She is arranging for a rent car.

Have read the paper on my nice clean patio. Leave for the doctors at 10.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Delphia, aka BirdGirl, posted this on Facebook and I got permission to bring it over here. Momster prayers needed.

Many of you know that I am in remission, having had malignant papillary cancer nearly 15 years ago (at age 25!) which had spread through my lymph nodes. It was technically classified as terminal, but through a lucky twist of Fate, I'm still here. Three months ago, during a followup ultrasound after having a breast cyst removed, it was discovered that I had some nodules appearing in my neck. Since then, those two have grown and two more have appeared. My surgeon is now concerned that the cancer may have returned; I was actually warned years ago that it could come back at anytime, and I have yearly tests done to follow that. On June 6th I will be having one of the nodules removed and tested to see if it is benign or malignant. Anyone who has had cancer will tell you that you become paranoid about it, even if your conscious, logical mind tells you not to worry. What I need from my family and friends is positive thoughts that I don't have cancer again. Thanks in advance for all of your help....

Hoda said...

Good morning all.

Glad there is some movement on the car LOLLY...

A very busy day here with appointments and I am headed out the door shortly for a walk first and then the day starts. I will check in in the evening when I return.

Comments from Tuesday evening.

JudyE so very sorry for the loss of your friend. What you told us about the "moth landing on her
hand then staying on the wall and in the morning still there and she took it outside and it flew off". That was just beautiful♥

Lynne so happy that the jump start fixed Steve's car.

Lolly you have waited and waited. I am sure you would have the right to really be upset with those people. Yes keeping uninsured is
always the best thing. Happy that your insurance is even going to pay more. I still have to say, "I keep thanking God you was not
injuried badly".

Kay I am praying you find the right rehab for after your surgery. You will certainly be missed on the blog. Plenty of prayers for the upcoming surgery.

Sandi I am very glad that you and Dennis was able to meet up with Jo and Ed. What an enjoyable time it must have been. Who is coming home on Thursday you and Dennis or Ed and Jo?

Paula happy you took the time to check in. I am so very, very, happy for the Mr. in your life.

Shirley I hope feeding George smaller meals more often. Gets him back to feeling better.
Hope Kathryn is ok from over doing it.

Sending healing to BirdGirl. Too young, just far too young....

Jewels I can see you had the right to become upset with Charlie's brothers stepson "Donald". I truely
believe that Lynn was right there with you. Not being "happy about the phone call and I don't think she wants Donald getting her house". Remember you are you Mother's daughter and as tender hearted as Lynn was she also had things that made her mad.

The saga continues,
donald is charlie's brother (mom called him Donald Son) . Teddy is the step son. Although I think Teddy was just doing the phone call for his aunt Donna. She evidenly wants to offer 100 grand for the house. I am so not ready for this. We have tons of stuff in the house to still go thru. Sis and I did knock out the dresser in her room, all of the office and have two shelves done dowstairs and the wicker dresser downstairs. WE did that in just two days. Her next day off isn't until like June now. :( Maybe we can have a sleep over this weekend and knock some more out.
Privately there is the neighbor that is interested in the house and others that we know of. so 4 pple interested without for sale signs. Hmmmm

Lolly said...

That is very good, Carolyn. Good to know that it will probably sell with no problem and you can get the asking price.

Jewels said...

That unfortunetly isn't the asking price. But pretty darn lucky for a offer that high. ALL the other houses in that development have been going for 40 to 80 grand.

Lynne2 said...

Oh Carolyn, a house like your mom's would sell for twice that in these parts!

Glad all went well at the Dr Lolly!

Geesh, they have been out back cleaning up the dump all day. They are using BIG equipment, and tearing up small trees, bushes, not to mention the mess the trail has now become. GRRRRRRRR

Thundering here...poor Daisy has taken to her bed.

Jewels said...

In 2000 her house appraised for 200-225 grand!!!! The housing market here took a hard crash and still hasn't rebound. You can get a 300$ home for 150$ or less! Def a buyers market.

Good Afternoon ! Sycamore Palace seems to be a serene and peaceful place right now. Lovely.

DELPHIA certainly has my positive thoughts with her. Will look forward to hearing what her June 6 results are, once I'm out from "under" and able to think right again. Haven't decided exactly how I want Julie to spread the word about me. May have her e-mail reports to LORI, MARGY and JO initially and then they can dispense the news. I will have my cell phone a bunch of #'s at the hospital. Julie and the boys will make sure I have computer access frequently once I feel up to it. Certainly by the time I'm in rehab. In other words I don't plan to be out of touch for long and will make sure a condition report is issued the day of surgery.

JEWELS, thinking of you and Christie as you go through things at your Momma's. So glad you have each other and know you'll make the right decisions together ! No need to let anyone rush you. I love the idea of the two of you having a sleepover in that lovely log house. I know LYNN will be there with you ! ♥♥

LOLLY, sorry about all the snafus' that have ensued after the accident. Hope everything will soon be resolved satisfactorily !

PAULA, don't apologize for not being with us quite as much right now. So grand that you've found love again !

Expecting Julie and Seth for dinner after they take Malcolm to the dog park. Just Digourno pizza n' salad, but wonderful to have their company while Hugh is out of town on business.

JUDYE, thinking of you as you mourn the loss of your dear friend. So glad you saw him last Fall and hope you and his wife can get together soon. ♥♥

I know I'm leaving some things out, but please blame the meds !
Love you all ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Lolly said...

Yea, Kay! Thanks so much for seeing that we are not out of the loop on your condition. You know we would be terribly upset if we did not hear anything. You know how we are!!! LOL

Guess what....I HAVE WHEELS!!! I am now driving a new 2012 silver Jeep, a smaller car than my Expedition. When I got home Jack told me to get used to it. Two weeks before they can work on it, and then 4 weeks of work. Yikes!!! Thankfully we had no trips planned. But 6 weeks...groan!!! I want MY car!

Lolly said...

Look at that eagle on the edge of the nest. It looks like he is sitting on his tush with his feet hanging down. Funny!

Lolly said...

Ok, he just moved his talon back, he did have it hanging over. Yikes! Now big wing flaps, and jumps. Maybe was thinking of taking off?

OMG...it is flying. It went so high that I could only see its talons at the top of the cam. Won't be long.

Lolly said...

He/She better be careful, what with the wind he just might take off!!

Sandi said...

Hi all, we have an eaglet flapping and bouncing on the rails like s/he is on a trampoline. The way that wind is blowing at the nest, we may see an unexpected launch! Be still my beating heart!!

Lolly said...

Hi Sandi! School is almost out! Laurel and the boys are sooo ready! Joseph immediately leaves for Colorado for a week of kayaking, hiking, and bicycling in the mountains with his church group. Joey will be one of the chaperons. Laurel and Jacob will spend part of the week here with us. Yea!

Sandi said...

Lolly, this work week is pretty much over. Tomorrow is a field trip all day and I'm off to Baltimore on Friday. Then the kids have 4 days next week and 5 days the week after that! This has been a frustrating year - some with my students but more with my administration and with the school district as a whole! For the first time in my 28 years of teaching, I really wish I was able to retire! But I have to do 4 more after this one.

Sending positive energy and thoughts to DELPHIA and may there be healing and wellness... Hang in there and as the sign says, " DO NOT FEED THE FEARS".

Cooking with my new pots and pans is very enjoyable. I got a set of very good stainless stell pans and when Kristin was here we cooked up a storm every night after our hikes...I have to get used to how well they take in the heat and distribute it evenly...they seem to cook faster than the other pots which I have to account for with liquid and butter/ oil measurments...LOLLY have you got any advice?

Good on you SHAR for taking a photo of the one that lifted when s/he took to wing. Awesome. I will miss them when they are gone...they have done well those two.

LOLLY congratualtions for the rental and I hope they do a very good job fixing your own car...I am glad the Dr. Appointment went well.

My doctor gave me yet another inhaler!!! God help me!!! This time it is a blue one...so I am to use the orange one twice a day and the blue one when things catch...I will take forever to pack and clear customs, almost need a new suit case for medication!!! LOL!!! two inhalers, 1 epipen, for bee stings, and my vitamins and minerals...To answer their question at the border "do you have any drugs?" I will say "yes I am a walking pharmacy!!!" LOL!!!

Hi, Lolly. I had a craving for grits for breakfast yesterday. I don't know when I have ever even had grits in my house, so I bought some. They were delicious.

Sandi said...

Hi Jewels from work! Saw your post on FB about it being 4 weeks without your Mom. Things won't ever be the same again, but gradually, thinking about your mom being gone won't be as painful as it still is right now.

Prayers for Delphia for a good outcome. Isn't 6/6 the same day that Kay has her surgery?

Josh's mom called school today to say that walking is still painful for Josh but he IS walking with the use of a walker. She is hoping that he will come home on Saturday. She said he was sad last Friday night thinking about the 8th grade dance and wishing he was there but he has been a real trooper!

Judy, it sure is good to see you back on the blog!

Paula, are you heading to the beach for the holiday weekend, with or without Mr. Studmuffin?? If so, hit the road early (or late)!

Lolly, happy to hear that you've got wheels!! You drive an Expedition? No wonder you weren't hurt in the crash! Do those things even fit in one lane??

I am beat - not sure why since I didn't even have a full day at school today. Think I'll say goodnight.

See y'all in the AM - hoping for no fog delay tomorrow morning as it will really mess up the field trip schedule!

Sandi said...

Lolly said...

Yes, drive an Expedition. Used to drive a conversion van. Have to have something big to pull the trailer. Also, need something we can travel with Laurel and boys in comfort as we often take them on trips. Very thankful I was I was in it as her car was demolished and I only have $8000 damage. LOL

Philip Philips just won AI. I am glad. Jessica is amazing and she will do well but if I were to go to a concert, I would rather listen to him than her. But, I would really rather listen and watch SCOTTY! ☺

Lolly said...

So sorry George has lost weight. We have always fed Annie dry Science Diet. When she started loosing weight we switched to can food, but keep the dry food out. It is a pain, but she is eating better.

stronghunter said...

George gets Hill's canned food and I also give him their dry food pretty often. It's their ID prescription food. He has had both urinary and intestinal problems.

If I left food out all of the time for him, I think that he would have eaten himself to death long ago.

stronghunter said...

I watched a few early AI programs, but did not keep up. Kathryn likes Survivor and I watched DWTS. That was about all we could keep up with.

stronghunter said...

I have to say good night now.

Good night and God bless to everyone out there. I will see you tomorrow.

stronghunter said...

On George--I primarily use the canned food because he has a serious problem with constipation, and he gets more moisture with the canned food.

Sandi, heading down Friday night...sure there will be Bay Bridge traffic to contend with...oh well!

Also, my brother Phil and his wife and 3 kids and 2 dogs are coming down, plus my brother Steve (who goes down with me a lot), and Michael and Laura, We will have 9 people and 3 dogs!! So, I bought a lot of groceries tonight, going to try to get the potato salad done tomorrow night....plus

In the midst of everything going on at work, it looks like John and Ajay are going to try and purchase a mobile home...it's a double wide, very nice, but I haven't seen it yet. So they are FULL of questions, and need a lot of advice and guidance. Plus, I promised to help them with the $$ down some time ago...so we have been spending a lot of time on the phone.

Ok, gotta go fold the laundry! Didn't get the plants potted...maybe tomorrow, maybe next week, LOL

Don't think I have checked in today...
Took GG to her pain mgmt. doctor today and appointments have been set up for July to get her last two shots...they will 'kill' the nerve that is responsible for her pain, one on each side of her lower spine. Should last 6 mos. to 1 year. Don't know where to turn next if this doesn't work. Guess we need to think positively.
She was feeling well enough to go out to dinner...ate a BIG plate full and chocolate covered strawberries and ice cream for dessert:)

Going to say good night now. Sending love and prayers to all of you♥

Hi, Eagle Gang!

Have been very busy again today catching up on laundry, housework, and yard work. It was a very nice day here today, so took full advantage, and got lots of trimming done in the yard.

Shar, thanks for the update on Delphia. Mega, mega prayers being said for her!!!

Lynne2, forgot to mention last night, I think--SO glad that Steve's car jump started OK!

Carolyn, PRAYERS for your mother-in-law's brother-in-law! Sure hope he's OK! Please keep us posted about him!

Wanda, I'm glad that GG was feeling well enough to enjoy dinner and that yummy dessert! Prayers that the 2 shots in July will do the trick! By the way, LOVE your adorable avatar! :o]

Shirley, prayers continue for George. Hope he starts gaining back some of the weight he lost!
Tell him I said "Meeeow," please.

Well, golly, it's getting kinda late here, so I'd better head for bed. Have said prayers for everyone, and every creature. Have enabled both security systems, and turned on the porch light. Hope everyone gets a really restful night's sleep. God bless, and goodnight. Love all of you!

Lots of trampolining and flapping at the nest already this morning! Both kids "on the edge!" At one point, one was standing with his/her wings fully extended and facing out, not in. I fully expected a take-off, but then s/he turned around and folded those wings in. Any time now it looks like!

Hope everyone had a good day yesterday....and wish everyone a pleasant day today.

I spent yesterday in my yard......it was wonderful. Tending plants and bathing all my dogs....ready to go back to work today.

Last day of school for metro Nashville. Livvy (and we) had a bit of a surprise, she is beign sent to summer school because her math skills are weak. Let's just say she was less than pleased.

Good morning everyone.

Shirley, I do hope George is on the mend. So troubling when pets are sick. Grace returns for a checkup this morning and I think her incision is nearly healed and will pass inspection. I agree with Lynne -- dry food for cats is not best as total diet. Ours get wet 3x daily with kitten dry left out.

Lolly, happy to know you have a vehicle again. So sorry for all your inconvenience and worry.

Paula, enjoy the time with family this weekend. Incomplete chores? Well, those give us something to look forward to, don't they?

Hoda the Amazing! Really like the garden recipe and have saved it. I see your boys in red were escorting the Queen yesterday. They looked very handsome.

Off to find coffee and clean up before heading to the vet with Miss Grace. Don't tell the vet but I took the Elizabethan collar off around 10pm last night. What a flurry of washing and grooming and racing around. Ah freedom!

Bye

Judie said...

Oh, almost forgot. I think banding of one of the Decorah eagles is scheduled for today. Pete's Pond is back on air. The Kestrel babes are getting big. The RTH babes are really big now. Our babes were picking at scraps and wingersizing with Belle in attendance.
Bye

Good morning,

Thanks for all of your words of concern for George. He is out in the back somewhere.

Interesting about the dry cat food being so bad. I did discuss it with the vet. It was originally my idea, I think, and he agreed that the wet food was a good choice for George. He said that the wet food is more nutritious as I recall. Even better for weight control, according to the doc.

The funny thing is that George loves the dry food. I use it for treats sometimes. It is the safest treat for him because of his digestive problems.

Sometimes I toss a handful of pellets on the floor. Kathryn says it is like feeding chickens. The dogs like it too.

Hmm, Luna is crying to be let out the front door again. BRB.

stronghunter said...

Hoping that Grace is all mended this morning, Judie.

I just saw an eagle feather float to the ground. Really!!

Kathryn was not sure one of her incisions was healing properly. She called yesterday and they said to take off the dressings and let it air out last night and they'd look at it this morning. She was to be there at 8:30. I will check in a bit to find out what they said.

Oh, Carolyn. More prayers for your family. Hope things turn out okay.

stronghunter said...

One of the eaglets caught enough air to fly part-way across the nest. Then the other one took off and crashed int its sibling. They are getting better every day.

stronghunter said...

Another eagle feather just flew out of the nest.

stronghunter said...

More wingersizing and a bit of pecking. As big as that nest is, it is not roomy enough for all of that activity.

George has come in and is snuggled up next to me on the recliner.

Update on Kristin:

There really is not a lot to report. They are taking it day by day. She hasn't had the long-term tracheotomy placed yet. That may be today.

It keeps coming to my mind that there are some things worse than death. :-(

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I also have another prayer request. This one is for a long-time friend, Lori Woods. She was born with spina bifida and has had issues from that all her life. She used to be able to walk but is wheelchair bound now. She has a 13-year-old daughter.

Anyway, she has a huge hernia in her stomach, a large cyst on an ovary, kidney stones that will not pass and a nonfunctioning kidney. She is seeing the kidney specialist today at the Cleveland Clinic and hopefully they will schedule her surgery soon. They have given her a 20% chance of making it out of surgery. They will repair the hernia, remove a large portion of her intestines, remove the cyst and ovary and the nonfunctioning kidney. I told her I would get the eaglet momsters on this. She is 46 years old.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Lots of wingercizing going on in this nest today!

stronghunter said...

Prayers for your friend Lori Woods, Sharon.

stronghunter said...

Love to watch the wingersizing this morning.

stronghunter said...

Kathryn said that her incision is healing okay. They put another strip on it to hold it closed.

She and Hunter will go off to the "Rivah House" this weekend. As of now, it looks like Will and I will stay home. He has to work until late Saturday night, so he is thinking that he will probably just stay here instead of joining them.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate all of your positive thoughts for me. I hope I won't have to wait too long for the results of the biopsy.

Meanwhile, I'm going through some neurological testing to see what may be causing my "short circuiting" of my mind (speech and cognitive dysfunction). The doctor said it's possible I've been having tiny Complex Partial seizures, so he is sending me for an EEG and neuropsychological testing. This has nothing to do with the biopsy.

I will keep everyone informed :)

Hello and Good Afternoon...

Have been outside (doing more 'looking' than working) and it is just TOO humid for me. Perspiration just pours into my eyes and burns to the point of not beeing able to see. It is only 82°, which doesn't sound really hot but, take my word for it, it is!
Everything is up and growing very nicely in the garden. Squash is very slow growing. We have little peppers and tomatoes are blooming.

My MEGAN Nicotania is blooming... a beautiful purple flower which is suppose to smell very good. Too hot to have a fragrance, maybe this evening:)

Back outside for a while...
