and had to go back to hospital & I think now he is finishing up the rehab.

Mema Jo said...

When I came back I did see the wing tip at the 9 branch.

Thanks Mema Jo I had read that back in the comments. I sent him an email to have when he gets home.

Good evening my eagle budlets. I have spent the day nursing my sunburn. Ugh.

Lynne2 said...

Hi everyone and Happy Memorial Day to all!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend!

Lynne2 said...

We had a nice time with our friends yesterday. No storms there, just wind and some light rain. OUR place got nailed pretty good, and poor Daisy was home and likely freaking out all by herself.

We didn't even know there were storms...when the wind picked up, we checked the radar and saw the mess.

Judie said...

Ah, I see Bro is enjoying some boy time alone in the nest. Well, he had a semi-big adventure today.

Dinner is over. It was good. Kitchen repaired. Headed to put my feet up.

Carolyn, if you're in Margy's seat, you've got everything under control. Have a quiet shift.

Just in case, and I suspect it will be the case, the night light is set for 11:30pm and the sandperson will begin rounds shortly after. Restful sleep for all.

Lynne2 said...

Hi Judie, how is Gracie coming along? I truly have never seen a cat with so much post spay issues....hope she is on the mend.

Hi all - home at last! It was an exhausting but very productive weekend! Mom's place looks like she has lived there for 3 months, not 3 days! Every box unpacked and the contents put away, most of the pictures hung, and Mom is sounding a little happier now that her new place has her familiar things all around.

Have watered all my very thirsty annuals and am headed for a bath and bed!

Nine more days with kids!! Hope all is well with everyone - I understand that both of our eaglets have started branching as of this afternoon! Heard Rod Stewart's "Forever Young" on the drive home - have always loved that song, used to play it for my 5th graders on the last day of school. When I heard the line, "And when you finally fly away, I'll be hoping that I served you well ..." I thought about our peaglets and how their parents really have served them well!! I'm so proud of Belle and Shep and how well they have cared for their 2 kids this season!

Goodnight all ... see you in the AM!

JudyEddy said...

I forgot to mention but Josh is Alicia 25 yr old brother Alicia is Angies SIL He was found dead yesterday No reason parents went to wake him and he was gone. So said so young. ok back to see what I can watch on TV I was a bad girl and stopped and got a Hazelnut Java Chiller at Sonic OH SO GOOD its so good it evil LOL

Linda said...

Dinner and shower are done!! Broke down and put the A/C on. It's too hot and muggy!

Glad to see others checking in.

SANDI - Amazing, all the work you accomplished this weekend. You need to go back to work for a break!! Nine more days? Whoo Hoo!!

Happy DanaMo is home and had a fun weekend! Thanks JO for the update.

LYNNE - Glad you had a good time with friends yesterday

CAROLANNE - Hoping your roost is safe in the storm.

JUDY - So sad is right. Only 25 years old, too. Hopefully more will be revealed as to his cause of death.

JEWELS - Hope it is a good shift for you. Thinking of you often.... xoxo

Icing my feet right now. It was a busy day!! I sure don't like the fact that I can't accomplish anywhere near what I used to in a day.

CarolAnne said...

Storms have left the area - no one has any damage.

Have been able to keep the house cool by running a tilt fan at bottom of basement steps, blowing cool air up to main part of house -no central air in this old time house.

Hoping everyone can look back on a good weekend - lots accomplished, or deserved rests taken, pains at bay for awhile, and a moment or more of exciting eagle watching.

Eagle hugs to all - sweet dreams, restful sleep.

Mema Jo said...

Night CA Rest well SED

Linda said...

CAROLANNE - Happy to hear all is well on the home front and you have a way to keep the house cool.

When it gets warm outside, I dry my hair in the basement, I DO NOT like sweating......especially when I am trying to dry my hair!!! LOL

FuzzleMT said...

Is anyone worried that one of the eaglets isn't in the nest?

stronghunter said...

Hi,

Glad that the storms have passed on, CA. I remember our days in Ohio with no central air. We did have a window unit in the master bedroom and later got one in the kitchen. We did get central air when we came to Fredericksburg. This area would be tough without it.

But then we certainly didn't have it growing up. It is in what you get used to.

stronghunter said...

Pardon the double post.

Hmm, I hope that the eaglets both return to the nest, but it is that time.

stronghunter said...

I can't see too well, but there seems to be on at about 11:00.

paula eagleholic said...

I can see one eaglet at the 11 spot...need the clouds to move out to let the moon shine thru!

Evening, all...been home since 9:!5 or so, not too bad a ride home, missed a lot of the backup by taking some back roads.

paula eagleholic said...

House here is pretty warm, been opening up windows and turning on fans. I have window air units, but they are not in yet.

Got some laundry started, gotta unpack the cooler. Realized I left the cut up watermelon and salad in the frig at the beach, plus my list! I got part of the list rewritten!

Lynne2 said...

Paula, back roads off of 50 on Kent Island and past the Bay Bridge?

paula eagleholic said...

Both might be in the nest, not sure

paula eagleholic said...

no Lynne up 309 right after Easton...runs into 301 then into rt 50

Lolly said...

Have been sitting here and watching the radar. Weather radio has gone off! So far the storms are west of us. DO NOT WANT HAIL, but could use the rain. They have been predicting hail with this storm system, just do not know if it is going to reach us or not.

Lynne2 said...

Oh, good Paula! The people of Kent Island and those in the back roads where you can get to Rt. 2 from 50 complained and complained about the extensive beach traffic for years. Now, there are police just watching for tourists on those roads posted Local Traffic Only!

Gotta get to bed....been a nice 3 day break! Especially after the horrors of Friday at work.

Good night and prayers for all!

paula eagleholic said...

Eaglet at 11 laid down, I think, other one may have laid down before that

paula eagleholic said...

Could ya'll seen them last night, or was it too cloudy with the storms?

paula eagleholic said...

Sure could use some of that watermelon right now, LOL

Mema Jo said...

Judie, I don't know about me having it under control!! It is definetly team work!! :)
hope all is well with everyone. No storms here I do not believe.

Lolly said...

Laurel should be getting rain now and it looks like it will reach us soon. They did say on the news to batten down the hatches, strong wind, but the threat of hail has gone. Yea!

I saw one of the eaglets, and was told it was Missy, trying to get up to the stump but the other was already there. Saw wings flapping and back down into the nest came the eaglet.

JudyEddy said...

I am off tomorrow for a dr appt my yearly for my patches I don't want to be jonesen LOL

I put a pic of one of the eagle doing a spread wing in the lightening got a lucky screen grab also there is the second video of the store to where they both were flapping like competing with each other

JudyEddy said...

OOPS for got the link pic grab of eagle in nest last nite storm and video of storm wingersize in the lightening

Hoda said...

NO JO they were NOT both up there when Bro Branched...

Missy came down for some nest leftovevers. Bro went towards even and tried but he was not close enough and came down on nine trunk..Right away he gave it a second try and he branched. He stayed up there while Missy was in the nest. Missy finished her meal and she kept looking up there to see him on her perch. At one point she lifted up so close to nine branch and sustained a flight but DID NOT PERCH and came back in the nest...eventually Bron came down thinking food and Missy went back up there again. Except for the few seconds that Missy lifted trying to recalim nine branch she was in the nest when Bro was up there. When Bro came down Missy went back up again.

Hoda said...

Bro went towards seven is should read...seven not even!!! Sorry

Good Evening, Everyone!

Have been pretty much MIA since very early Saturday morning. Turns out I was ambushed by a gout attack! It came on rather suddenly in my left ankle. I could barely move! Ken finally went to a nearby GNC store and got me some wonderful stuff called "Apple Cider Complete", and it really did the trick. I'm feeling almost normal tonight. The AC Complete turns the uric acid in your blood alkaline, and goodbye gout pain! Boy it's taken a while to get caught up here. First of all...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LORI!!!! Hope it is a spectacular day for you!!

Carolyn, prayers for Jess! Hope her hand continues healing rapidly.
Awesome story about ♥Lynn♥ visiting Jess in the ER! ^j^

Shirley, sorry to hear that Luna is having eye problems. She's on my prayer list! Hope George is doing better. Prayers for him, too!

Shar, so sorry to hear about your sunburn! Sure hope it starts feeling better, pronto!! Prayers!

Be still my heart!! Now Bro is branching, too! Gee, it won't be long before they both fledge. I'm just so grateful that this season is a success! Shep has been a really good daddy!

There's so many other things I'd love to comment about, but I'm about to do a face plant into my keyboard! Will have to wait until morning. The porch light is on, and both security systems are enabled. Prayers are said for everyone, and every creature. Sleep well, everyone, with SED. God bless, and goodnight. Love all of you!!

DanaMo said...

I only see one, what's been going on?

The end is in sight for me at school. Only 6 more days.

Today is our "field day" we are at a place called Antietam Recreation. A fun but exhausting day for the children and the adults. Usually followed by adult beverages at my home for the teachers!

DanaMo said...

No, I next Tuesday is my last day. Kindergarten graduation.

Sandi said...

DanaMo, I am woefully behind on what happened with everyone's weekend since I was in Balto. moving my mom. What was the weather like at the beach over the weekend? Were you at Frontier Town camping?

DanaMo said...

Waiting and hoping for "ducklings" to hatch in my classroom. No chicks this year :( My incubator didn't arrive until almost 2 weeks after my chicken eggs, I guess it was just too long. I didn't expect them to hatch but of course I hoped. It does however, look like I will have ducks, which is something new and fun. I already decided I would get a baby pool for in the classroom so we can let the babies swim. How fun is that?

Sandi said...

DanaMo, both eagles have started branching (Missy last Thurs. I think and Bro yesterday). They seem to like the stump at 9.

DanaMo said...

The weather was fantastic Sandi. We were at Frontier Town, and had a great weekend. Annemarie brought a friend and we even managed a "power shopping" trip to the outlet to Aeropostle. I got $200 worth of clothes for her for $94.! I was excited and jealous! :P

So your mom moved already! Wow! Fantastic. That is so good that is taken care of, I bet you are so relieved.

I don't think I told you guys that my parents have a contract on the business and relief is in sight for them on June 30th. Thanks be to God! What a year it has been for them. I am so glad that everything worked so quickly. I never expected them to sell so fast, under what the property is really worth in a good market, but alas, they need to retire.

Sandi said...

Dana, GREAT news for your folks! My mom got 3 offers on her old place and settles in mid July. Yep, we got her moved in on Friday afternoon and, by Monday afternoon, we had every box unpacked and everything put away, as well as most of the pictures and things on the walls! Denny, my sister and I did all the work while my brother-in-law kept the kids occupied at the pool.

Sandi said...

Time to get myself back in the groove! HAGD all; will check in from school!

When I was reading comments about the eaglets branching. It almost sounded like both were out of the nest. Meaning Missy went up higher and Bro was on the stump at 9 o'clock. Knowing the picture I sent around shows only 1 stump no limbs off it. I finally re-read and I believe. When Bro branched to stump Missy was in nest.

Remember to stop and smell the flowers.

Happy Birthday, Lori!
Thanks Margy, for the delivery, I know Wanda has been wanting to grow cardinal vine for a while, I was happy we could get it to her. Super easy to grow it, Wanda, just give it sunshine, and something to climb on.
Back outside, this intense heat is a pain so early in the season, glad we've had some rain.

magpie said...

Righto, Megan!
Was really great to make it to market...boy was I relieved you still had nicotiana... ☺

think the cooler air West of is is going to bring in some rain and maybe somewhat cooler temperatures for a day or so...

James and I froze some wet washcloths yesterday before heading out in the heat...it was pretty neat to break them out a little later on...we went thru tons of cold water also

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

And I would like to add that none of our eaglets have ever branched on that stump because that stump didn't used to be there.

GOOD TUES., THE DAY
AFTER A GREAT
WEEKEND, TO
EVERYONE.

VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

Good weather here in So Cal now ... not too hot, not too cold.

I see the older eaglet is looking more and more like fledging, and the other is trying mightily to keep up. Soon now for sure.

Good fine feathered morning to one and all! Doing a happy dance as I slept til 7:30! I've been trying to sleep in since saturday!

****Happy Birthday to Lori!****

Its been a busy few days. I was up late Sunday evening with hip and back spasms. I didn't get to sleep til past 11:30. Normally I'm in bed snoring @ 9:30.....and getting up @ 6 yesterday didn't make me very happy Thankfully we were busy at work. They maxed out my schedule, so I got to leave an hour early!!!

I didn't do much last night. Tom bought us some bikes and we rode around the cul de sac with Olivia last night. Think maybe we might go riding later???? Been years since I rode a bike.

Olivia is settling in with her new bunny her brother got her for her birthday. I plan and the Universe laughs! Kora (foster pup) goes home this Friday! Then my oldest will take her cat (Miss Kitty) home in 2 weeks or so when she closes on the house. Ha ha I think, down to 3 dogs, 2 cats!!! :) And in comes Doc the bunny. *sigh* I am destined to have a farm of sorts!

Another hot day in Nashvegas. Hoping for rain. We really need some.

I need to water so I can pull weeds later I suppose. Garden is looking really good. Can't wait for my fresh veggies!

Going to the store in a bit to get the stuff to start making veggie smoothes. Learned about them @ Qi Gong last year...eating so much more in the raw foods dept since then. Now to drink them...wish me well with this............

***JUDYE**** loved the lightening videos!

Hugs, light, and healing to all....Have a fabulous day!

Janet I seen a show on tv where they were taking fruits and vegetables and mixing them together in a machine. Making smoothies. Man they would just put in a whole apple, whole banana, and vegetables and press the button.

That machine would work fast. Cost too much money for me. I don't know if I could drink the vegetable and fruit smoothies with getting the IB or not from vegetables.

Happy Birthday Lori Celebrate You ♥

Lori driving down to the beach we were able to have 97.1 on the entire trip. It was great not to have to be searching for stations in whatever part of the state we were in and also in DE.

Mema Jo said...

Good "HOT" Morning - I have been thinking that the 'stump/branch' just could become the 'launch pad' for these eaglets. It is so out in the open. We would need a 'ground report' if we didn't see any actual fledge but had only seen one eaglet. I hope they don't use the stump but take after their parents as to where they leave the nest.
What is, Is.

wvgal_dana said...

Mema Jo did you get the picture I sent around showing the stump in the tree?

Hello again,

Hunter is at school, now. He has a field trip today. He said it is either the Fredericksburg battleground or the Chancellorsville one. I think they could do both.

Linda said...

I saw Shep return to the nest with a fish, I believe. Boy Missy flew off that stump so darn fast and stole that fish.

She won't have any trouble defending herself in the wild. She won't let Shep or Bro get near that fish.

Then Shep decided to poof!!

Missy does NOT want to share AT ALL!!

Sometimes we miss things!!

Love you....and we're counting down the days with you!

Mema Jo said...

Linda thanks for the report! The other day Missy almost came in head first and bumped into the edge railing! I guess
it is all called SURVIVAL and yes, she is going to do well!
I had the email, WV Dana. Thanks

Mema Jo said...

lol Do you think Bro is planning a
Sneak Attack?

Linda said...

He is trying, but Missy is one determined eaglet!

Bro needs to MAN UP and start getting a bit more assertive if he wants to make it out there!!

Lolly said...

Good morning!! Beautiful morning here but warming up. Got down to 69 last night but already 77 and climbing. Disappointing amount of rain last night, but thankful for what we did get.

Have washed my hair. Think I will suggest to Jack we go to Weston Gardens today. It is a nursery, but accross the street they have display gardens that are breath taking. We have not been for a while.

Sandi and Linda, thanks for answering Kay's question about SED. She keeps missing our answers. LOL I miss a lot. Someone says something and I have to go searching to see what they are talking about.

Linda said...

She keeps giving him "the look."

Mornin' JO!

Linda said...

LOLLY - Sounds like a good idea going to Weston Gardens......

Don't spend too much!! LOL

Lolly said...

I think he has managed a bite or two but that is all.

Lolly said...

Linda, my yard is about completely planted. LOL However, I am searching for shrubs that will bloom in shade. We took down a Cedar tree. Saved an article, but then I think it got thrown away. Jack's fear is I will get new ideas for landscaping.

Linda said...

Well, I better get moving on my day here before it's gone!!

I have a squirrel who is relentless on my back feeders this morning. I wish there was something that worked to keep them away from the feeders. We seem to have sooooo many!!

Have a wonderful day, my friends!!

Lolly said...

Ha! Did you see that sneak attack? He got another bite!

Lolly said...

We have a little squirrel we are calling Fearless, Joseph called him Feary. LOL We can walk right up to him. He is tiny!

Lolly said...

Same to you, Linda!

Linda said...

Well, that is the best way to get ideas, for sure!! We need to do that as well.

We want to replace our rhododendrons in the front because they are so old and leggy. Beautiful flowers, but for too short a time.

Did he finally steal a little of that fish??

Shep needs to bring in a big one and split it!!

Linda said...

Oh, LOLLY.....

Would you email me that recipe for flank steak when you get a chance, please??

I would like to see it and try it if it isn't too hard one day!!

Thanks :-)

Mema Jo said...

Bro managed some successful attacks but not enough to fill one's crop. I was fearful that one was going to knock the other out of the nest! Held my breath.
This was so very interesting to watch.
Shows the character of each one.

Linda said...

I believe Bro just flew up to the 9 stump, while Missy still chows down!!

Good On You, Bro!!

Mema Jo said...

Who saw which one going up on the stump

Linda said...

Yes, JO, you are correct.

Bro has a gentle manner.

Missy.....not so much!!

Mema Jo said...

I think you are right Linda. Bro is the darker of the two and I don't have a problem ID'ing them when they are both in the nest! Looks like Missy missed
out for the stump. Now I hope they don't fight over the stump!

Linda said...

I am 95% sure it was Bro who branched. Missy is still chowing down. Bro seems to have darker feathers to me, in the sun.

Yeah, it is Bro who branched, because that is definitely Missy in the nest right now.

Linda said...

Interesting that we both mentioned the darker coloring at the same time!!

Well maybe I will eat my breakfast at my desk and watch a little longer....

Linda said...

Has Missy branched at any other branch other than the 9 position?

I thought I remember hearing she did on the 3 branch, but I am not sure....

Lolly said...

Linda, I will email you the recipe. It does take a lot of preparation and is then cooked on the grill, though guess it could be roasted in the oven.

Do not know if I have it typed up and saved on the computer or not. Will check and will try to get to it today.

I am off to start my day! Have a great day!♥

wish LORI a ♫♪♫♪HAPPY BIRTHDAY♫♪♫♪.
Hope this day is as good for you as you have made it for others...Love You♥

Linda said...

LOLLY - No rush, please!! Just whenever you have the chance, I'd appreciate it. Thanks ♥

WANDA - Have a great day! Don't work too hard..... xo

Lori O. said...

Gosh, you guys, thanks again for all the birthday wishes. You really know how to make a person feel special. Now, can you take away lower back pain. Think I did too much time on the tractor over the weekend. :)

Excited to hear about Wanda's Cardial Vine - they are beautiiful.

Lolly, hope you find your flowering shade shrubs...how about Azaleas. The newer Encore variety reblooms several times and they take the heat.

Linda said...

Parent just flew in. Looks like Shep.

Missy about attacked him!! I don't know if he brought in food or not.

Bro flew into the nest, but IF Shep brought anything, Missy is on it AGAIN!!

Mema Jo said...

Wow we can start fresh - they are both in the nest now.

Linda said...

BRO back on Stump at 9 position.

Missy looks to be pecking at something... but I can't see it.

HELLO LORI!! BIRTHDAY GIRL!!

Mema Jo said...

That '2 in the nest' didn't last long!

I need to start my day by getting dressed. BBILW

Linda said...

Whatever Shep brought in was SMALL.

Missy is eating at the 4 position in the nest.

BRO isn't even going to bother with the fight.

Thinking that the food is their only source of water, too, and how hot they must be......

They will surely enjoy their first true drink of water, won't they?

stronghunter said...

So cool to see one in the nest and the shadow of another one cast from the branch above.

Linda said...

Yes, Shirley, I agree. Especially when he wingersizes and you see that full eagle shadow of the wings outstretched on to the nest.

I think I captured a picture of a similar site yesterday. I don't know if I reviewed it to see if it was good enough to post.

Better get something done now!!

Awesome day here...

Headed out to celebrate the beauty and see what is what with what!!! No plans that is just looking at the beauty and knowing gratitude. This is my plan fo rhte day.

Linda said...

Hey....where is SHARON this morning??

SHARON - Are you healing from your sunburn?? Hoping you don't have blisters.....

DANAMO - I hurt just looking at your daughter's picture of her sunburned feet. OUCH!!

Okay, now I am really outta here!!

wvgal_dana said...

Put picture of STUMP where eaglets are branching too in the album. It has an adult sitting on it.
That is same picture my avatar right now is.

Lori O. said...

It's so hot again today, but should begin cooling down...a good chance for "heavy" thunderstorms tonight... Just don't want it to wash away all my new grass seed, but will be thankful for the water! Looking to be in the 70's later this week!!!

wvgal_dana said...

I guess that is still Missy in the nest. She has her wings out so she can get some air. She is hot !

wvgal_dana said...

If Bro is the one on the stump. He just spread his wings out. So we could see. :)

wvgal_dana said...

Eaglet in nest just moved to the 6 o'clock position (launch pad area).

wvgal_dana said...

Just hopped over to limb with stump and looked up. Now moving around the nest. I think she wants her stump.

Linda said...

YES - The eaglet in the nest is MISSY.

BRO is still on the stump.

Linda said...

BOTH back in the nest...

Linda said...

One flew back up to the stump. I think it was Bro, but I have to get a better look!

Linda said...

Looks like Missy jumped to the 3-4 branch just to the side and below the nest. She is not in the nest, but is still in almost full view.

Mema Jo said...

There must be a little terrace at 3 position. Must be cooler down there

magpie said...

Shep doesn't much care for fooling around with a mantling peaglet !

and away he goes

not much wonder there is little left to the 8 o'clock spot on the left when you see a bail out like that

magpie said...

well one of the two "babies" went out of view while I was typing

Linda said...

Shep flew in, but I don't see food.

Whichever one was on the stump flew down into the nest, but I don't see anyone eating.

Back up to the stump. The one on the right branch 3-4 position remained, which makes me think Bro may be on the right and Missy may be on the stump??

Linda said...

They've got me confused again!! I see a pretty good white spot on the back on the one at the 4 position, so maybe that is Bro.

Either way, they both are close by and have NOT fledged yet!!
