Yay for BEagle, she found a split!

Funny dog tale - I had to go out a few minutes ago and find Nugz, he was outside FOREVER. Well, he had chased a bunny earlier today, up along the fence line and behind the shed back in the corner. Of course, the bunny escaped.

Nugz was convinced the bunny was hiding back there somewhere. He drug out one of those long black tubes that you put on the end of your downspouts, and was chewing it up in pieces. He was convinced the bunny was hiding in there!

Had to use the stern voice to get him in the house. Now I have to go out and clean up the mess, lol. Silly dog.

Pittsburgh is way ahead (or won), Ravens are ahead, & Buccaneers, too.
Poor Paula-pet mess. Binky just jumped up on mantle & tried to eat plastic needles off the lighted garland!Got the water squirt bottle and she stared, but didn't chew anymore.

hedgie said...

GO REDSKINS!

Yea, Ravens won!

hedgie said...

Raining in DC. Sunny here!

hedgie said...

You gals are a hoot.....countdown to a split! Glad you were the splitter, BEagle!!! GOod that son was paying attention to the laundry for you!! And SO glad that you are WARM!

Good to hear that Will's rib isn't broken....but still painful, nonetheless.

stronghunter said...

Back home now. Will got some pain medication. We dropped him off at his apartment, but he's planning to join us later for a roast pork dinner. It will be a late dinner.

Will went to a James Bond party at a bar somewhere. I guess he got the idea he was James Bond. He told one of his friends (his roommate) to punch him in the chest, and the friend did it. Yes, alcohol was involved.

Fortunately, they had a designated driver to take them home.

Rus broke his collarbone in a similar incident some years ago. He was wrestling with a friend at an outdoor barbecue.

stronghunter said...

Thanks for all of the concern and the rib prayers.

stronghunter said...

That was my first FB message on my iPhone, and I hesitated to post that I was at the hospital because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to explain what was going on. And it did take awhile for me to explain, but I thought I got it all in before anyone read it.

I guess that if someone is well enough to post they are at the hospital, it is likely they are in decent shape.

I surely did not even think about posting when I was at the hospital the day I fell on my face.

stronghunter said...

Yea! Redskins touchdown!

hedgie said...

TOUCHDOWN REDSKINS!!!

stronghunter said...

Funny story: At the hospital, a polite gentleman gave me his seat in the x-ray department when Will went back for his x-ray. The man was standing there with his phone commenting about the fact that the Steelers were doing well in their game.

At that moment, I said "thank you." And he asked me if I was a Steelers fan, too. I replied that I was a Redskins fan, that I was thanking him for letting me have his seat. He said that he was sorry about my being a Redskins fan and he wanted his seat back.

stronghunter said...

Emergency room was an interesting place. We watched a child bite a chair. Just decided to chomp on the chair.

BEagle said...

Go Skins!

paula eagleholic said...

Too funny, Shirley! Glad Will's ribs are just bruised.

Good Evening Eagle Pals

Thought I could try and catch up on comments but I couldn't do it.

Had to go lie down my right eye is giving me a fit. I have to again ask for prayer for it please.

I had a whole thiing typed up as I was reading comments. I did see Bev where the young girl pasted away. I prayed for her Mother and friends.

Funny emergency room story Shirley and funny dog story Paula.

Mema Jo said...

Rest your eye Dana and call tomorrow so you can get it looked at or at least know if there is something you can do. So sorry it has started up again

BEagle, congratulations on winning the Split.
Lolly - Just watching a show about a woman who flower gardens meant the most to her and she call a team to get that Armadillo! But her name wasn't Lolly!
Shirley - sounds like everyone thought the worst had happened when you message was read! Thank goodness it was not you and sorry it had to be Will.

Before I get interested in a movie and forget...Thank You All for good wishes and pretty and funny cards, ecards, emails, etc!

In church this morning, after Gene and I gave out our appreciation gifts to our Soup Kitchen helpers, I said...."Wait a minute, I have one more thing to say...Thanks to this guy for giving me 52 wonderful years", then gave him a kiss. We got a standing ovation, don't know if it was for the 52 years or the kiss;)

After church, GG went to Lunch/Dinner with us to help us celebrate our day. She did remember it was our anniversary!
It was a very nice outing with her...can't get her to go out very often.
We will go out tomorrow and celebrate by ourselves. I WANT LOBSTER...A WHOLE ONE!

SHARON...we are about to watch AUSTRALIA. I rented 6 movies and saw that one on the bottom shelf and remembered that you said you liked it so well...hope we like it as well as you did!

We rented 5 movies on Christmas eve and enjoyed all of them. So nice to not see re-runs and commercials.

I know we are all hoping for a long look at Lib and Belle durig some part of tomorrow..doubt it will be FIRST THING.

hedgie said...

Shirley, that guy was no gentleman!!! Nervy!

Paula, glad I'm not the only one with a bad dog today. My Redskin sweatshirt now has a big hole in the bottom ribbing----Mai jumped and her tooth snagged it.

Jo, your dinner sounds really good.

Wanda, you all deserve a standing ovation!!! Not many couples are as fortunate as you all are! Where did you go to eat??

wvgal_dana said...

Thanks Mema Jo NO DOCTOR I know why it is giving me a fit. I just have to shy away from the blog and tv and do nothing BORING!!!!

Isn't there a song or in a song "SMOKE GETS IN MY EYES"??????

Went in vehicle who knows I NEVER have liked smoking in a car. It makes me sick. So of course, I thought since she invited me to go along with her and Mom to go eat crab legs over at Topps in Hagerstown she wouldn't smoke in vehicle. WRONG !!!! NO CHANGE IN ATTITUDE THERE!! Although I love this person. If she just would have told me before. When we were already on our way she lit one up put the window down just alittle and a little on Mom's side too. I ask her please don't smoke in the vehicle". Answer, "If you don't like it you should have drove your own vehicle". POINT MADE!!! I said I can't stand it my eyes please. So the smoking went on. "Oh it's not bothering you, I have the windows cracked". IT IS AND I WOULD LIKE FOR YOU TO STOP. SO THE NEXT TIME I WILL DEFINATELY DRIVE MYSELF......That my friends is my sister who decided since I sent her a Happy New Year's email IS WHAT I GET FOR TRYING TO RE-NEW A RELATIONSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so just please pray for my eyes. I think in a day or two it won't hurt as much. Lord does it hurt. I did ask her, "Why did you ask me to go along". She said, "Well I thought its a New Year why not."

She will NEVER NEVER CHANGE----if I would have even thought she would do that with Mom and me in the vehicle I would have driven myself.

wvgal_dana said...

lol We got the point Hedgie-Lynn you don't have to tell us twice LOL

hedgie said...

E-x-c-u-s-e me......didn't know it posted twice!

hedgie said...

Well, that game stank. SO glad this season is over. Big disappointment all around.

Lolly said...

Well, the Cowboys pulled that off with their 3rd string quarterback. Now it is wait and see what next year brings.

Lolly said...

Now watching the STARS play.

stronghunter said...

The guy at the hospital was joking. He was very pleasant. I didn't mean to give any other impression.

Mema Jo said...

Cowboys really cut it down to the wire
to pull that win.

Skins - don't know what is going to help them but hopefully next year will be much much better. Their fans are so loyal that they deserve more.

Glad your day went so very well for you and Capt Gene. Hope you find your lobster tomorrow.

Going to watch a taped show

BBL

stronghunter said...

Dana, I think that sometimes people who smoke just do not understand. My mother in law, who was a very nice person, started to smoke when she was sitting beside me in the car. I was pregnant, and having a lot of trouble with morning sickness.

I had to work up my courage to ask her not to smoke. She asked if it would be okay if she opened the window. I knew it wouldn't, and was really afraid I would be sick. But I did not say anything else. She was nice enough to refrain, though, in the end. But I felt bad about having to say anything.

Too bad this woman couldn't be more sensitive to your problem.

I guess the thing to remember is that they are doing more harm to themselves than to anyone else.

stronghunter said...

Enjoyed the dinner. Now, I am drowsy.

Will came for dinner, but has already headed back home. I think he wants to take another pain pill and sleep.

stronghunter said...

Happy anniversary, Wanda and Gene. You deserve the standing ovation for all you do.

NatureNut said...

Oh, Lynn. Prayers for Tristan & Family. Sad beginning of year.

Lolly said...

Shirley, I figured the man was kidding. I really do not think that a man who gives up his seat would really ask it back for that reason. I thought it funny as he meant it to be. I can see Jack saying that after giving up a seat. LOL

Mema Jo said...

Just read back before leaving

Bless Tristan's soul and may he have peace being with God.
Give the family strength and bonding during this time. May they have a faith that will carry them onward.

Miss Mai just REALLY angered me. I was on the phone. She snuck into the office, up onto the cot and chewed my cell phone charger cord in pieces. I mean, we are talking 6 pieces in maybe 2 minutes. S-C-R-E-A-M!!!!!

NatureNut said...

Will try to post the Main Page link;
EENet Nature Cams

It is 3 AM there & now as I watch, I think the small critters are some kind of raccoons, not piglets. Have long, furry tails!

NatureNut said...

Lynn, my daughter's cat chews cords. Not into many pieces, but thru them--chargers, laptops, you name it!

hedgie said...

Lowreeda.....had ALL cords hidden so it couldn't happen. Had office blocked off....she jumped over the barricade. The charger cord was under a blanket....and I never thought she would find it even if she got in there. I am getting so frustrated.

hedgie said...

Boar and raccoon there now.

NatureNut said...

OMG! Are you going to have to get a safe? What a smart stinker. I know it's not funny to you!
Here's a puppy story---we got our Samoyed puppy a few weeks before Xmas when my daughter was in high school. When we had to go out, we usually put him in bathroom to avoid trouble. One PM, I had to run up to store for a couple minutes, so left him loose (no one else home yet). The Xmas presents were neatly stacked under the tree & when I got back, there was snow white Frosty w/red all over his neck!I thought he was bleeding as there was small glass mirror on floor.Discovered it was from a lipstick set my Avon lady aunt had sent!!Daughter came home & we both scrubbed lipstick off him before Dad got home!!

hedgie said...

Oh, my, Loretta......did it all come off????? What a mess!!! How in the world can someone so cudlly and soft and sweet one minute be so bad and/or nasty the next???? Don't remember ever going through this before, and I've raised lots of dogs.

Lolly said...

Our puppies never destroyed anything but we had a cat that chewed socks and sweaters, anything knit. Try to tell your children to keep everything picked up and put away!!! Siamese kitties have this flaw. She ruined a lot of good stuff and the kids wore socks with holes!

paula eagleholic said...

So sorry to hear about Tristan. Prayers for his family.

I was watching the Nature series, they had the bald eagle on again.

Got all the Christmas stuff put away, and living room just about to its former self.

Gonna go chill and watch some TV. BBL

but I guess that is tomorrow - Back to work and back to school.

stronghunter said...

Time to say good night and head upstairs. I hope I have wound down enough now.

See you tomorrow.

stronghunter said...

Glad you have some freedom from the midnight shift, Margy.

hedgie said...

Margy, so glad you don't have to work tonight.....sounds like last night was very boring! Whatever relay system that was down last night has remained down....attributed to a lightening strike! All efforts going toward repair.

Good luck to all returning to an everyday work world tomorrow.

Temps falling, and cold settling back in. Nice rerieve while it lasted.

Mai ended the day on a loving, good note. Thank goodness---I needed that. I was just about at the end of my rope.

May be late getting on in the morning. Have company coming at 10...finally going to have a little Christmas time with Bill.

Prayers for all, especially for the families of Kendra and Tristan.

2000 red-winged blackbirds dead in Arkansas......cause unknown, Possibilities: stress from New Years' eve fireworks, hail or lightening. Hmmmmmm.....poor birds.

No cam repair yet.

Had a spill during the night....after a fashion. Was almost at head of stairs holding Mai's collar when I either lost my balance or got tripped up and just did a slow twisting slide to the floor. My inner arm coursed down the edge of the support post....so have a nice bruise and a long line of under-skin blood from back of armpit down inner arm to elbow. Sore! But no real damage. Felt DUMB!!!!

Happy New Year!

Interesting weekend. Was at BW on Saturday. Never made it to the Wildlife Drive. Spent most of the time on a small bridge near the refuge watching eagles standing on the ice and fishing. Watched one immature stick it's beak through the ice and pull out a fish. Five others immediately closed in and harrased or stood by looking for an opportunity. The light was terrible so the quality of the photos is not up to par. Photos here:

Saturday

On Friday we were driving by an open field and there was an eagle munching down on a bird. There were five Canada geese carcasses in the field. I walked in after the eagle left and four of the five were headless down to the base of the neck. Very strange. Also saw a vulture and red tail dining there. Photos here:

Friday

wvgal_dana said...

Hi Bob will look at your pictures in a minute. Just wanted to know did you have a nice Christmas and New Years?

Also do you want to go to the Clairton???? LOL Bob loves my spelling of the Caliron......heehee

wvgal_dana said...

Bob loved the picture of the immature eagle pulling that fish through the hole in the ice. Then it looked like an immature landed ontop of the one that pulled the fish through the ice.

Could you tell when taking the pictures. Did he get to keep the fish or was it stolen?

Going to check next day pictures so great!!!!!

NCSuzan said...

Thanks, Dana. How is your eye today?

Bob Quinn said...

Had a great New Years and XMas Dana. Thanks. One of these days OPM will send me down for training at the EMDC in Shepherdstown and I'll get to stay at the Clarion for a week (or two depending on the training).

Good morning! Great to have our cam back! Thanks NCTC!!!!!! Are we going to break a thousand on the thread? LOL

Great pictures Bob! Really enjoyed them.

Guess the holidays are officially over. Laurel is back at school. The boys don't go back til tomorrow. They are home with their Dad. Poor Laurel will come home to a wrecked house today. Dad and boys do not pick up or clean up after themselves. Grrrr!

I plan on doing a little house straightening and then start on taking down decorations.

wvgal_dana said...

Bob I just love teasting you about how I had messed up on the spelling of the Clairon. We had fun that year...you would write on blog.....I have never heard of the Clairton or I don't know where the Clairton is. LOL Then when I ask you about the grey fox. I had thought you was still teasing because maybe I should have spelt it gray LOL

I have left comments on your wonderful and awesome pictures. Thank you for "sharing you work with us. It is always a joy."

NCSusan thanks for asking about my eye. I think the more days that go by God will allow it to heal more. The smoke really did a number on it. Thank you so very much for asking.

Costume Lady said...

Hey, Bob...you know how much I enjoy all of your photos, but, especially the foxes.

Dana, smoke filled places do a number on my eyes, too. We no longer go to the lodges that Gene belongs to, because of the smoke...it takes me 2 or 3 days to get me eyes back to normal. I have a condition called OCULAR ROSAESA (ALSO HAVE FACIAL ROSAESA...MEDS HELP THAT ON FACE, BUT NOT EYES).

wvgal_dana said...

Mema Jo I pray your doctors appointment show very GOOD results today.

wvgal_dana said...

There are piles scattered around for the wild boars and you can hear them eating.

wvgal_dana said...

Hedgie-Lynn I am going to look around in stores for that DVD of that movie
"Chestnut Hero Of Central Park". I would love to just start with one person on the blog. Send it to them to see and then have them send it to someone else on the blog and just keep it going around until everyone would get to see that WONDERFUL MOVIE. I can't find where it is coming on tv again anytime in the future.

Good movies like that they should have come on more often for families.

Couple of things:

Bob Q., although I got an ecard from you, which used one of the addresses I have for you, my ecards to you were kicked back by both of the addresses I have for you... SPAM filters??

Weather here in So Cal is cooooolish and rainy again today. We are really doing very well for rainfall for a non-El Nino year.

Mason... There's a new entry in Mason's blog with a bunch of good, smiling pictures added too.

Dunno Jim. I've received ecards from others and other email from you without an issue.

For those wondering, the immature eagle that picked the fish out of the water was able to hang on to it and enjoy his meal despite the competition from at least six other eagles.

Watch for the eagles

later need to get perscription

I'm back!
Not to worry.....arm is just soft tissue injury. No way that anything could have torn or broken. Just bruised!

Still no still.....and haven't seen any action on live cam.

STILL lots of boars!

Gotta check Bob's pics......hoping there's no close-up of a headless bird!

movin said...

I don't understand it either, Bob, but could you email to either of my email addresses (beginning "jp99..." or "rode..."), and I'll check to see if I have the exact current email from you??

There just aren't words to praise Bob highly enough!!!! LOVE THEM, BOB!!!!

Bob, hope you get my mail okay. Nothing has ever come back.

Is this Australia movie you all are referring to based on Michener's book?

Good Morning, Everyone!

Well, darn, the Holidays are over! Hope that all those going back to work have an uneventful day, and are able to get caught up.

Little Emma and I fell asleep in front of the TV again last night. Lynn, so sorry about Mai chewing your phone charger cord! I had 2 cats decades ago who chewed cords, and had to get some heavy clear plastic tubing, like air hose for aquariums, only larger, to thread the cords through. For some reason, that stopped the chewing. Hope you can find something that works. Maybe a spray bottle of Bitter Apple, or something similar. Emma seems obsessed with the cord that's threaded through the hood of my jacket. She will stop when you use your gruff voice, but gives you the SADDEST puppy look! Just about kills me! Will be glad when she has all her adult teeth! Haven't seen any puppy teeth lying around yet, so it will be a while.

hedgie said...

I, too, don't completely understand the cam situation......both pics HAVE to be coming from the same equipment.....only difference is who is broadcasting the image on the net.....apparently FWS in DENVER "airs" the still, while Outdoor does the live. Since the live feed is running, thanks to John or whoever did what needed to be done today, then guess Denver just needs to re-set something on their computer!

Am waiting for the MCI guy to get here and, hopefully, fix our land line phone so it works. It's probably the line coming into the house that's messed up by the rain. Hate having to wait for repairmen! Have the exterminator guy coming today, too. They are going to pull all the rat traps out of the attic, since there's been no activity in a while. Later this week have the Sears guy coming out to check out our washer, dryer, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Annual extended warranty coverage. It's going to be a l-o-n-g week!

Lynn, hope your bruised arm feels better very soon! SOOOOO glad you didn't tumble down the stairs! Please be VERY careful!!!

Well, need to go get some coffee. Have been up for quite a while, taking down the Christmas tree and straightening up a bit. Should load the dishwasher and start it, too. Will check back in later to see what's happening. Have a good day! :o]

Jim - Sent a test to the rode... address.

hedgie said...

Hi, Andy! No baby teeth missing or found here, either! Can't wait!!! Charger cord was the only one accessible-----all others had been hidden. I think if this one had remained under the blanket it would have been okay-----but she pulled the blanket!!!!!

movin said...

Thanks, Bob. I'll check it now.

Love the eagles on the ice, Bob.

hedgie said...

If we keep going just a little bit more, we'll hit 1000!

movin said...

It did come through, Bob, and I sent a reply. Hope you get it.

I couldn't see any difference between that address and one I had for you???

Just peeking in. See there is no new thread yet.
WHO will get the 1000 split! Beagle, going to go for it? LOL

Checked in on Lily and see that she has been busy covering up the opening. Maybe Lib and Belle should fly there and get that fluff! Just sayin....

Suzan, thanks for the heads up about the Sutton cam. Just checked it and found the eagle. Sure hope they nest there this year. Might consider another trip up there.

Just made up beds from Christmas weekend. About time, huh? Had washed the sheets but they were just piled on the beds. One week is not too bad!

Doing laundry now and about to start gathering Christmas to start boxing it up. Jack is no help. He is out at his shop building new closet shelves for Laurel.

movin said...

I see Lisa has finally switched the cycle times on the two BW cams.

BWE is now 20 seconds.

C(°Ù¿°)D Jim

paula eagleholic said...

Yea, Lolly, about time, LOL

The ewwies were checking out the BWO platform after the eagles left, now it's the fish crows' turn

hedgie said...

Lolly, I just can't believe that you let those bedas go unmade for so long!!!!! LOL!!! Glad you heard me when I said RELAX!!!!!!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,
I'm back again, and I'm not a real happy camper. MCI repairman has not shown up, so called them, and they say that due to heavy volume of repairs due to rain, mudslides, etc., they MIGHT not get here until the 12th!!! Will come between 8 am & 12 noon, but could be any day until 01/12. If they haven't shown up by then, I'm supposed to call back and reschedule! YIKES. Meantime, no land line phone. Grrrrrr.

Ms Bookworm said...

I even told them that Hubby has a pacemaker, and I would really not like to go without a phone by the bed for that long, and the guy apologized, but said that he couldn't speed it up at all.

Ms Bookworm said...

Sigh...Well, I guess it is what it is.

Going to go find my camera--need to put a picture of the Santa Ana River on here, and must get it into the computer first. Will be back soon!

hedgie said...

Andy.......you need to go higher.....medical conditions are a priority. Does Ken by chance have his pacemaker monitored over the phone??? If the power were to go out so that you couldn't charge cell, you wouldn't even be able to call 911.............most utility companies have a number to call for medical stuff. PURSUE IT!!! Don't take no for an answer.

hedgie said...

Good leash training session and ball play with Mai. She's been better today. Only one wound inflicted and it was purely accidental on her part!!! She sure can run fast!!

Judie said...

Hi everyone, there's a new Monday thread. Come on over.

Ms Bookworm said...

Lynn,
You're right--hopefully our power will stay on, but given the recent weather, no telling. I'm going to go call them back right now, and see what can be done. Meanwhile, here's a picture of the Santa Ana River taken last weekend. Before all this rain started, it was nothing but sand. Quite a difference now!
