Place smells like booze around here. Just wrapped the cookies in booze soaked towel. Going to be good! Yummy!

Lolly said...

Guess I am going to read. I will be back. Last night I did not return. For shame!

stronghunter said...

Going to retire for the evening.

Was just looking over my students for next semester. I have some familiar ones--kids I had in dual enrollment last year who are returning for another round.

I also saw one who is supposed to be in my English 11 class. He has a grade of 1% in English 10. I don't expect he will be in English 11. Geesh!

stronghunter said...

I am ready to retire for the evening. Kathryn went upstairs long ago. I will see you tomorrow.

Much to do then. Should have gotten more done this evening. I really meant to.

I have a professional development session during my planning time tomorrow. There will not be time for planning.

Been watching CMA Awards.

You can't record someone unless you talk on there too and tell them, I am recording you. That is what I was told ??? Truth or Fiction???

Mema Jo said...

Alexis has gone home... Time for me to watch Criminal Minds..

Will return......

Lynne2 said...

Watching CMA awards. But not for much longer. Bad to distasteful jokes and very little county music. Country music, IMHO, has gone Pop. Thank God there are still a few more traditional country singers still around.

Going to head to bed soon. Good night everyone, prayers for all!

Good Night from this roost also...
have to get up and go to work, finally, on Thursday :(

Treat for the evening:
James read "Sarah, Plain and Tall" from his school reading book, to two of his three grandmothers.
Lots of enjoyable moments

Hope some of you have been seeing the waxing crescent Moon in the evenings

Hope sleep is perfectly restorative tonight, and that the day has gone well for all

God Bless Us, Every One

Goodnight to all turning in. Margy, glad you had a nice evening with James. Yep--I have been seeing the moonie, as well as lots of stars. The only good thing about leaves coming down!

Think I'll go take my bath now. BBL.

Peeking in! Have been reading and now heading to the shower. This time change has me ready for bed earlier and earlier. LOL

Yes, Criminal Minds was weird...I'm a little confused about the woman who was supposed to be the mother of the "Socially Challenged" man and the skeleton that he carried out of the house???
Guess I fell asleep one too many times:)

Time for Good Night here. Prayers and wishes for a good night's rest for all.

Wanda, it was like a Norman Bates thing....the "alive" mother was in his imagination; the corpse was what ws left of her!

Well, my fine, fowl friends....sleep tight. See you tomorrow. Prayers for all.

Mema Jo said...

Thank You Lynn for the card - I've always loved it and enjoy it every time I see/hear it.

Margy, we were riding in the car with Alexis and I said - Do you see the baby moon? She said " it's not a baby moon, it's a crescent" Like Mema - duhhhhhhhhh.... I loved it!
She explained also that today in school she learned about a hard touch and a soft touch. She demonstrated by
shoving her dad and then hugging her dad. I loved it!

Thank you, Steve. Enjoy the Indian Summer.

Good grief, I leave for class only to return to a Chinese takeover, gray curls sprouting everywhere, Jack smoking, Lolly into the booze, and illegal wiretapping. I just can't leave you all alone for a minute.

Sorry Laurel is having school trouble on top of all the other difficulties. I wish her relief very soon.

Jim, happy Marine Corps birthday and Veteran's Day tomorrow. Blessings for all our troops, past and present.

Margy and Jo, glad you both had some fun grandkids time.

Shirley, students record lectures using phones so they can create outlines/answers to scroll through during tests. Hold phones under desks tops or under front of sweater or jacket. Harder to spot but we do catch them. Hands continuously fumbling in lap is a red flag.

Okay, tomorrow will be here sooner than I want. So, turning my light off but will leave the night light on for others. Pleasant dreams.

Mema Jo said...

Well with all my good friends hitting the pillows, I think that I will follow.
Hey Crunch if you're watching the Wildlife cam - that herd of wild pigs is back! And the raccoons on the Pix Controller cam are really chubbies. I still can't find the den where the lion cubs are sleeping.........

Back the hallway I go

Good Night Everyone and Prayers for Everyone... Hugs for all ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Night Judie - Crunch I didn't know your were there until I commented and then read prior comments.

They sure look like the same herd as last night. Take care and tell Doris Hi

Hi, Everyone,
Just got home from school a few minutes ago, and have been trying to get caught up on the blog. Eyes are tired, and don't want to focus well. Case of "computer eyes," I guess.

I accomplished my mission today, and got the birth certificate for Jay, our oldest granddaughter. Here's an interesting story about it:

Hubby is going to scan the certificate at work, and send it to our daughter Jen at her work, so they get it sooner. We'll mail the original. Jen sent me an e-mail yesterday to let me know the info I'd need. The e-mail came in at exactly 2:22 p.m., the time that Jen was born. (Hubby & I notice that time on clocks quite often, and when we do, we say a little prayer for God to bless Jen.) That particular time of day has a very significant meaning for both of us. OK--when I went to my car after getting the birth certificate, I sent both Jen and Jay a text message to let them know I got it. Jen's "thank you" text message back to me came into my cell phone at EXACTLY 2:22 p.m. today!!! Wow!

Ms Bookworm said...

WAHOO!!!
My final exams are over for this semester!!! I feel really optimistic about my English final tonight. Now I'm praying that God doesn't decide to pull the rug out from under me for being too overconfident! The test really seemed to be easier than I expected it to be, though. MTBR...
I have the same teacher for English
2A and 2B next semester. Glad about that--even though he's a tough teacher, I've figured out his teaching style, and won't have to figure out another new person next time.

Ms Bookworm said...

Looks like a lot of us have already hit the hay. Guess it's the time change, and the fact that it's getting dark so early now. Think I'm going to go watch some TV and unwind a bit.
The night light is already on, thanks to Judie! I'm turning the porch light on so lateniks don't trip on the steps and hurt themselves. Prayers have been said for everyone, for so many situations. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are both enabled. Sleep snugly (hope you have flannel sheets!), and I'll talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love each and every one of you! :o]

stronghunter said...

Passing through. Woke up and came down for a glass of milk. Once had a doctor tell me to drink warm milk when I can't sleep. I don't bother to warm it up, but it seems to help anyway.

Dana, the law about recording people is different in different states.

Yes, Judie, we high school teachers are onto some of the symptoms of electronic device usage, but can always use more suggestions. I guess if one worked hard enough making outlines of class lectures, one would not need to cheat. I can remember making outlines of my lecture notes as a study method. But I retained the information in my head, not on a cell phone.

Need to go back upstairs before I am too wide awake.

wvgal_dana said...

Good Thusday Morning ( :

wvgal_dana said...

Nest with the green leaves and trees on ground around it this crisp morning looks inviting for 2 eagles. I'm finally up and waiting to see you both ( :
They have done a lot of work on the moving of sticks. In the days prior to today.

wvgal_dana said...

My feeding is busy two titmice and two female cardinals. Make that 3 now a nice red male has come to visit. I haven't seen any Junco's yet. Hope I don't for awhile. Usually see some snow following their visit. That can wait awhile.

wvgal_dana said...

My railing has frost on it. Boy I sure have a lot of male and female cardinals. They are quite beautiful birds. I also like this seed. Doesn't bring in the crows or startlings. Plus the birds make sure they get whats on the ground. No waste.

wvgal_dana said...

The sun is coming up behind me and hitting the trees over past the tops of the houses. In the Hedgesville direction and the golden yellows are springing out with some reds in the middle. It is truly beautiful sight.

wvgal_dana said...

Well there is my first Junco to see. I just commented I hadn't seen any. Off it went when the woodpecker came in.

I hear something might be in the tree near our cam.

wvgal_dana said...

That large woodpecker has no problem eating at the feeder. It is eating on one side and a female cardinal is eating on the other. Well my "splashie bluejay" has come along to spread the wealth of seed. They just need to eat what they want and stop splashing it out everywhere. Ha Ha woodpecker is chasing bluejay away lol lol

wvgal_dana said...

Wow no eagles and no Momsters or Dadsters?????

Did you all change the location and didn't tell me lol?????

NatureNut said...

Good grief!! See Dana's comment at 7:54AM! It's almost 2 hours---has Blogger eaten everything????
Forgot to mention that I saw a junco at the Park over a week ago.

Did not get back on last night. Went downstairs to see TV & fell asleep in couch. Field trips will do that. We went to Art Museum and Natural History on Mall yesterday.Helps to get some ideas on planning exhibits.

Will get it just trimmed and get Barbara to cut it when she is back in December. Golly, it has been 7 weeks...that's a long time for me.

Going to start the day, so have a great day everyone!

Good MorninG,

EveryBody.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Santa Ana winds are back again. It's pretty much like a windy desert around here for a couple of days. Then a cooler, maybe rainy or drizzly days again.

I've seen this pattern before...non-el nino year. Some years in the past we would only get clouds without rain of any kind ... think that was during one of our droughts though.

Didn't used to bother me much, but my sinuses take the roller coaster rides through these changes nowdays.

Power went down this A.M., very suddenly, very dramatically, very loudly (?what?). But it came back on before long. Only damage is I have to set the electric clocks, which I just set (precisely) when we went off daylight saving time.

Good afternoon, everyone.

It is a slow day.

Lolly, it always makes me very nervous if someone new cuts my hair. You temp will do a great job. Keep the hair faith.

Jim, hope you don't have too much trouble with sinuses. Gets worse as I get younger. I suspect your brief power outage was a vast Chinese Shar Pei conspiracy.

Lynn, not fair. Do we have to guess another "it"?

Lowreeda, so glad you had a nice visit to the museums and hope you got lots and lots of new ideas that can be used.

Dana, enjoy those lovely birds. It is real treat to watch them.

Andy, so proud of you for getting through another semester. You rock!

As of yesterday, it seems the buck and his lady have taken up residence in our yard. Not home since 7:30 so will find out from Darth if they returned today.

Off to a presentation of teaching/assessing critical thinking in courses. Will be home late late afternoon. Will catch up then.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,
Well, I decided to sleep in today, since there's no school! Then I got busy putting flannel sheets on the bed, and attacking the dirty laundry, before it attacks me!

Jim, I had a power outage this morning for just a bit, too! Wonder what's up with that. I had to reset some clocks, too--bummer! Winds are blowing like crazy here, also. Of course! The gardener just got the place looking spiffy, and they won't be back until next Tuesday!

HAPPY VETERANS' DAY!!!! Jim, and all our other vets, thank you for your service to our country! I'm grateful!

Managed to get our dining room table cleared of almost all my school books and school work. Now to try to keep it that way!

Ms Bookworm said...

Aargh! I was writing another comment, and Internet Explorer suddenly quit on me, dumped me off of here, and lost what I had written. Oh, well. I need to go do some vacuuming, anyway. Sigh... :o[ I'll check back in later.

SIL and his bro just brought in a load of wood. Gee, and I didn't even have to ask, beg, threaten, etc.!

Carolyn said today that they picked a dozen peppers today---totally unaffected by frost. Plants were huge, so guess they were low and well-protected. But she said she even has blooms still on them. She also has 4 roses in bloom! I noticed when I blew leaves today that some hyacinths have fresh green shoots poking up, too!

I keep telling myself to get on to watch our eagles, but at that time I am usually busy and forget! Grrr!

Yea, Loweeda, I am so glad you can see. I got my do done today, too. It worked out, Becky did a great job. Hurrah! I really think Barbara may not work a whole lot longer, now I know I can trust Becky to do a great job. She was very careful to do what I wanted. Love that!

Got home and decided to mow/mulch leaves. Just the last couple days have the leaves started to turn and really fall.

Now I need to prepare a little supper and head to church for a meeting. I'll be baaaaaaaaaaack!

Wow, thought if I stayed around long enough, I might be able to SEE some birds!! LOL

Lolly, now you can see, too! Girl I've had for many years moved to shop WAY down the road. One near Park closed. I've had a heck of a time---even went to a barber shop a couple times that has 2 ladies.I get what's called Oriental bob, and the barber shop gal WAS Oriental, but she cut it wrong twice!!! It's right this time. 1 advantage of going way down to Dunkirk is that there's a Wallymart!!!Hallmark store too, so got some of my Xmas cards. Making the rest.
