Good morning, again.

Thank you Steve for the new thread. Have a lovely day.

Finished class. Started profiling serial killers and showed a UTube video of a killer testifying at his trial. One victim stabbed 213 times. Will probably show a video of Eileen Wournos on Tuesday (for those of you who saw the movie Monster, she's the killer portrayed).

Lolly, glad you got an early start on the scarf.

Lowreeda, glad you got your flu shot early.

Jo, sad about the funeral but nice Nana's viewing had lots of family and loved ones.

Lynn, enjoy lunch. May get some rain later on today. Grass really needs it.

Okay, will be back later.

Judie said...

Oh, Andy, glad you got your homework finished. Home free after tonight.

Thanks for the new thread, Steve.

And the call over, Judie.

Have a great day, everyone. I'm signing off for a while....

You might check the Pandas and the Catalina reports, etc.

I'm back after a nice leisurely lunch. Stopped at another grocery---no pumpkin there, either. Thankfully, I have two cans leftover from last year, and Christie has found 2....just might not have any pumpkin bread or cookies this year...will have to save what we have for pies!

Went through car wash....BARELY made it home before it started sprinkling. Even blew leaves off deck in sprinkles! Now, let it rain, let it rain, let it rain.

Update for prayer list: hairdressers' FIL is in a minute-by-minute race to meet the Lord...please now pray for an easy passing, if you will. TY.

Hoping that Christie was at Hopkins today---shooting there...one dr. wounded, gunman killed by police.
She was just there Tues. Yesterday she was at Georgetown U.H. for over 8 hrs.!

hedgie said...

Thanks for Catalina reminder, Jim!

Judie, I remember the Wournos case.
Don't recall how long ago it was----will any of your students remember the headlines?

Knowing that I wanted to go to carwash, I phoned the grocer near there this AM and ordered my peanut creme-filled donuts!!! YUM! Is it dessert time yet??

hedgie said...

Duh....just read what I wrote.........hoping Christie WASN'T at Hopkins!

hedgie said...

It's RAINING!!!!!! The nice kind....maybe it will last all evening and night!

Judie said...

Back for a visit.

Thanks for the clarification, Lynn. Thought for a moment lack of pumpkin had frazzled your brain. Glad Christie was NOT at Hopkins. Two dead and dr in surgery expected to be okay.

Have put pumpkin on my list. Hope I can find some this weekend when I get to the grocery shopping task.

Glad you got leaves blown before the rain. Windy and overcast in the past hour. Should have rain before long -- feels and smells like it is on the way.

Only way the students would know about Wournos is if they saw the movie. What I have to show them is actual footage taken during her childhood, with her brother, observations from the only real friend she had plus her partner and observations by a psychologist and a psychiatrist. She killed 1989-1990. Executed 2002.

Prayer for hairdresser's FIL and a peaceful end.

Think we may go out to eat tonight.

Lions doing well. More active every day. Mom is sort of doing her thing but watching little ones.

Which Catalina should I watch?

Check in a little later.

hedgie said...

Not the cam, Judie....the reports on the forum. Wills ee if I can find the link again....I REALLY need to clean out my favorites!

Catalina Updates

Judie said...

Lynn, thank you so much. Didn't know about this. What absolutely beautiful birds and countryside. I bookmarked so I can keep up.

Rain has arrived with cooling breeze. Once again I hear the clapping and cheering of little blades of grass.

Well, I guess it's just you and me. Now it's going to be just you until later. Cheers!

hedgie said...

Hopkins update....gunman killed his mother and then himself after shooting Dr. Upset over what Dr. told him about her.

hedgie said...

Judie, they usually update once a week. And they take lots of pictures!!

hedgie said...

Raining quite hard now. Sure hope the wonderful moisture draws Myrtle out of hiding come morning!

Lolly said...

Good afternoon! Jack and I got our flu shots. We went to Walgreen's. No appointment necessary and Medicare takes care of it.

Jack has taken my laptop to Mike. Wahoo! But, the computer is much faster just not as comfortable. Did some shopping and did a little yard work.

We are getting ready. LOL We will be ready before the set departure at this rate. I think we are so anxious to hit the road!

wvgal_dana said...

There you go that worked. That link has a lot more information!!

After you read it still does not make sense though because Burger King is not open and it is dark. Just across the street is Roc's (for whoever is not familiar with Roc's) it is a store and gas pumps. Really busy down my way.

wvgal_dana said...

I did make it to Winchester today for appointment. Now I need to go back tomorrow. Yep...Thank the LORD I did NOT mess up the total knee replacement. Although my left foot is caving inwards and that is making me fall. So will return tomorrow for making of an orthotic. We'll see how this turns out. I will then go back in a month. To see if that is helping. At that time will set up laparoscope for right knee where the tear is.

wvgal_dana said...

Prayers for FIL of hairdresser.

Prayers for the rest of the horses. That have not yet been adopted out yet.

Don't know if correct Hedgie-Lynn but I was told that ALL VET care is being paid for by Charles Town Race Track. Neat huh!

Lolly said...

Dana, the men were probably using the empty parking lot to park and make a cell phone call.

Jack is home. Had to leave my laptop. Grrrr! Mike is swamped with computers to clear the "Vista Antimalware" virus. If you should ever get something like this, DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING. Press the power button and that is all!! Do not go to shut down, just press the power button. Mike said that if you click on anything you get the virus. And, it looks authentic, like a real security program. Warning you you have been infected. Yeah, duh, with it!!

stronghunter said...

Hi,

I wanted to stop by and say hello. I am exhausted this evening and am getting a headache, which is rare for me.

Will try to check back later.

wvgal_dana said...

Lolly if you read the link. The driver got out of vehicle. There is no lighting even if he wanted to make a cell phone call. The smartest place would have been across the street.

wvgal_dana said...

Shirley hope your headache goes away soon. Sorry :(

hedgie said...

Dana, the article said that BK was closed.
LOL-----you will have an arthroscopy on your knee. A laparoscopy is in the belly!!!
Is it the race track or the Benevolent Assn. of Horse Owners (or whatever their name is) that is paying Dr. Bridges? A wonderful gift, for sure.

NatureNut said...

Evening Everyone! See raindrops are falling on the nest & it's webby!

Judie, I didn't get a flu shot----just my gums are shot from cleaning and scaling. Had Dr. appt. in late PM for infection & it must have started raining then---was light rain, almost over. Not enough for my plants, some of which got water in early PM.

The Hopkins thing was one scary incident. Hope they catch your prisoner up there. Keep your homes locked!!!

hedgie said...

Almost time for Jeopardy---heading for the sofa. Hope I don't fall asleep!

Judie said...

Hi everyone.

Back from a really yummy dinner. Now ready for a nap.

Checked the nest. May have missed a comment so has anyone figured out what the white round thing is at the top of the nest? Almost looks like a golf ball. No eagles.

Wow, times a flyin Lolly and so are your knittin needles.

Shirley, get some rest. Hope the headache leaves quickly.

Dana, so sorry about the knee injury and truly hope the orthotics will make a huge difference. Just be extra careful, please.

Save some lettuce for Myrtle. Does she have a boyfriend or not?

I did not feel the critters today so will be swamped with seed orders tomorrow.

Going to read Dana's update.

Judie said...

Oh dear, sorry Lowreeda. It was Wanda. Well, go get your shot anyway. lol

Later

NatureNut said...

Judie, not to worry---I'm sure someone will give me one!
Checked nest again & the bright white spot blows in the wind with the web. Either something in the web, OR water that is illuminated by night light.
Just got pills finally, so gotta eat something else, too!
BBL, unless I succumb to Panda nap!

wvgal_dana said...

Judie do you mean be extra careful with the orthotics?

Thanks Lynn not the "belly" lmbo

Costume Lady said...

Jim and Lynn, thanks for the Catalina link...beautiful photos and Helen's narration was great. You can tell she really loves her work!

I forgot to tell you that GG had a statement from her Insurance Co. stating that they would pay for all the damage to the car, which she hit. The Judge, then dismissed the charges against her (failure to maintain control of her vehicle). Courtroom was filled to capacity, with standing room filled also. All but a very few were scruffy, obscene T-Shirt wearers, bellies and butt hanging out, weird hairdos, rings and earrings hanging from every orface of their bodies and you could tell from their conversations, that they had been there before. The Judge was wonderful and respectful of everyone's feelings, even when they said stoopid things:) I don't know who he was, but if I ever have to have a trial, I hope he is the Judge!
Gene went up with GG and did the talking for her (he cleared it with the deputy before hand). She was visibly upset and she asked for a nerve pill, which I gave her. It was our hope that she learned a lesson by making her go to court. Time will tell...
When we got home, she said she felt dirty and needed to wash her hands;)
Not sure this is over with:(

hedgie said...

Well....cannot believe that none of the 3 smart contestants got the Final Jeopardy question! I DID! Wish the money was MINE!
The question was "What is post-haste?"
Their "answer" was "An old English word indicating the speed of mail" or something like that. One said Express, one said something else, and one had no question at all.

Lolly said...

Dinner is cookin'! Crab cakes and green onion sauce. Jack went to Central Mkt. today and called. Should he bring home some crab meat? Crazy question! Made 8 crab cakes, so we will have a meal on the road too. That is what is so much fun, we eat well on a trip. LOL Yum....wine too! That is what Jack calls our trailer....a wine cellar and port a potty! LOL

Costume Lady said...

Loretta, seems you have to go to the dentist on all of your days off. Is he helping you or do you like pain;)
GG has 3 teeth to be filled the end of this month. She doesn't mind...says "might as well do it now before they get too big". She is such a trooper:)

hedgie said...

Dana.......with orthotics, it takes a slow breaking in period of wearing to prevent SEVERE ankle and knee pain. One hour first day, 2 hours second day, etc. BTW-----they are very expensive--and insurance usually doesn't cover.

Loretta, hope your mouth let you eat. :(
And poor Shirley with a headache...rub some BenGay on your forehead.

Lolly said...

So...does it mean right now, with no waste of time?

Costume Lady said...

Is an Orthotic, something you put in your shoes?

Costume Lady said...

Who are you talking to Lolly?

Lolly said...

Wanda..should we drop in again before Friday nights big bash? I am so excited about seeing all of you again! You better get your hair done or have the towel ready!

Lolly said...

I was asking Hedgie about "post haste".

Lolly said...

I wish our blog was like fb and you could see who is on.

hedgie said...

Rain has stopped. Drip, drip, drip. Moon is showing.

Costume Lady said...

OK, I see...you were referring to Lynn's Posthaste question. Posthaste, to me always meant 'right now and no dawdling'.
The contestants must have been too young to not know that word:)

Lolly said...

Dinner is about ready.

BBL

Costume Lady said...

Oh, Lolly, I don't know what to do with my hair. It is half way down my back and I do need it cut. Just don't know how short. I like long hair, because you can pull it up and pin it on top of your head and your good to go. It IS time for a change. Do stop in...towel or no towel;)

wvgal_dana said...

Great I don't need anymore pain to the knees, legs or feet. I knew in my heart this may not be a good thing. I did get info. from Ins. company they probably will NOT pay for it.

hedgie said...

Wanda, orthotics are shoe inserts.
Lolly, yep.....haste without delay!

hedgie said...

Literally probably translates to "mail-FAST"!!!!

Judie said...

Checking in before the sandperson arrives which should be soon.

Dana, Lynn is correct. It takes time to adjust to orthotics so be careful as it will change the way it feels to walk until you get adjusted. Meanwhile, also be careful about where you walk.

Wanda, can't blame GG for wanting to wash her hands. Hmm, joking but maybe you could tell GG she mustn't drive anymore because she might have to go to court and then feel dirty again. Have a chat with your hair cutter/stylist and look through lots of book. Regardless, you're lovely.

The third contestant said ASAP.

Reading through the comments, it seems some of us may have been into Lolly's wine.

Okay, I'm about to surrender to the sandperson post-haste. So, turning my light off but will leave the night light on for others coming in, headed back the hallway, down to the tub, up the stairs, nursing a headache, or coming in from school. Pleasant dreams!

hedgie said...

Dana, when Bill got new orthotics a year ago it was over $500.
Wanda, had no idea your hair was that long!!
What happened with traffic court for GG?

stronghunter said...

Headache seems to have gone away. I had a nice phone conversation with a dear friend, one of my bridge buddies, and it helped.

Now I am surrounded by fur children. That's okay, too.

hedgie said...

Yep, Judie, that was what she said on Jeopardy. Thanx for remembering!
Sleep tight! Hope you can sleep in tomorrow.
I sure intend to!

stronghunter said...

My delete. I double-posted.

hedgie said...

Duh...completely missed your post about last night, Wanda. Yep....sounds like a typical court session in Martinsburg. UGH!

stronghunter said...

I do have to say good night. I will see you fine folks tomorrow.

God bless.

hedgie said...

Was it City Court, Wanda? If so, it was probably Judge Sanders.
Do you know that if you get called for jury duty by the Circuit Court, you could be assigned either to county cases or city cases?

hedgie said...

Wake up feeling good, Shirley!
Your weekend is almost here!

I am going to take my bath. BBIALW. Hope everything is okay with Jo........she's probably plum tuckered out, too.

Lolly said...

Dinner was delish!! Wanda, I had no idea your hair was that long either. Laurel has long hair. She says she will never cut it. So easy to put it in a pony tail or twist and put up. I have an appointment next week before we leave. Going to tell Barbara to cut short as it will be 6 weeks before I get back to her...if then. Of course my idea is not short short short. It is still all one length. Had a lady in Hobby Lobby compliment me on my hair when I went to buy yarn. Made my day! She wanted to know who cut my hair. Will be interesting to see if she calls Barbara.

Going to go put my feet up.

BBL

Costume Lady said...

Judie...telling GG that she might have to go to court again might just make her put her keys up!
We have her keys here at our house!

Lynn, it was City Court and the Judge had dark hair and dark rimmed glasses...no placard with a name on it, at least I couldn't see one.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone!

Had a busy afternoon. Went to the Post Office, the bank, and to school to drop off my finished homework and sign the roll sheet. YIPPEE! Done with school for the week!

Judie, I remember Eileen Wournos. Quite an interesting case. She was, indeed, a monster! She sure had a rough early life, though. If her family had treated her better, wonder if it would have made a difference.

While at school today I saw another student in the computer room, and we got to talking. She was online, watching the sea otter cam at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Oboy, I'm hooked! Don't know how to make a link, but if you copy and paste, you'll be in for a treat!

www.montereybayaquarium.org

Try all the different cams--there's quite a variety! And the sea otters are BEYOND cute!

Before I forget, there were 2 new butterflies in my yard today--a Monarch and a huge Tiger Swallowtail. Haven't seen a Monarch around here in literally decades! Must've been migrating through.

Did they catch that fugitive yet? Sure hope so. Be sure you lock all your doors and windows!

Well, getting kinda sleepy. Think I'll go veg in TV Land for a bit.
The night light and the porch light are on. Prayers have been said for everyone--especially Lynn's hairdresser's FIL, and that whole family. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are enabled. Sleep tight, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]

Lynne2 said...

evening all....

been reading back,

Wanda, I'm so thankful that GG wasn't hurt and that she didn't hurt anyone else. This is becoming a very serious situation and I hope you can get her to stop driving POST HASTE!

Shirley, many prayers for the family situation.

Dana, yes, do be careful with the new orthotics and heed Lynn's advice.

Looly, so sorry about your virus problem...I had a suspicious notification come up and called the Geek Squad (had a service plan with them) and they talked me through removing the problem. The only thing that saved me was that I didn't click on anything, just as you advised if it happens to anyone else.

Loving this nice rain! Looks like another slug is heading at us from the west...not sure if it'll make it over the mountains to us, but looks to have some thunderstorms with it.

Well, folks, I've got to chug some Aleve and some Tylenol and snuggle into my bed. Been on my feet and on the go for 3 days straight and various body parts are protesting in an extreme way. Wish they'd shut up and get over it already.

Hope everyone has a good evening and prayers for all!

Lynne2 said...

wow Andy, thanks for the link! I was at that aquarium about 10 years ago and loved it! Got to feed some stingrays! So cool you've seen a Monarch! Yours on the west coast don't go to Mexico, but migrate south in CA just the same!

BTW...does everyone still have hummers? I do, but expect they won't be here for many more days. Hope to have some tea on the patio in the morning and enjoy the antics for a little while!

Costume Lady said...

Lynne, that is the perfect place to use: Post Haste!:)

Andrea, maybe that Monarch is one of my 'children', one headed West when we realeased them...3 others headed due South. Don't remember where the other 2 fly off to. I have one more that will hatch tomorrow:)

GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL

hedgie said...

Lynne, you just need to treat those body parts better, girlfriend!!!!!
Hope you feel better in the morning.

Wanda, I think Sanders has blonde-to-gray hair......not sure who else they have....

Lolly, never noticed from pics that Laurel's hair was very long!

Andy, glad you got to see a monarch again! Will check out the new cam link. Your weekend starts tomorrow!!!

Costume Lady said...

Lynne, hummers are still here and at Karla's in Virginia (60 miles from here), but they will be gone in a few more days. We did have one that stayed until early October. Thought we were going to have to Winter him over in the house:)

hedgie said...

Lynne, haven't had any hummers or butterflies here since Labor Day.

Lynne2 said...

wow Lynn, you aren't that far from me or Wanda, so I wonder where your hummers and butterflies have gone? Body parts will get a rest and a good hot soak in the tub on Saturday, I hope!

I have 2 chrysalis outside, but one is on a flimsy leaf of a day lily plant so I think I better move it to a more secure location. Still have 2 caterpillars munching the milkweed.

hedgie said...

Oh my....Lynne was right....it is THUNDERING here!!! Haven't heard any in so long, forgot what it sounded like!

Lynne2 said...

oh no....hope it doesn't thunder here...poor Daisy can't take another storm!

Good night all! Again!

Raining...a real thunderstorm!

Glad you folks are getting yur flu shots early! Thankfully, everything is in one shot this year!
I get mine on Oct. 7th. Better not make me feel bad for the beach!

LOL Looks like Lynne gave me a new name, Looly! Do not think I like it. You know what the loo is! Yikes!

Watched a good program on public TV and knitted. I really like knitting. Glad I am back at it.

Love the Monterrey Aquarium. Will have to check it out. Love sea otters too. Have watched them off the California coast.

Get some rest, Jo! Hope you are feeling better tomorrow. Flu shot has not bothered me one bit. Feel nothing! Nothing like getting a shot "over the counter." lol

Okay, going to check fb and then head to bed. Mowing in the morning. Trying to get back to a Friday schedule. Jack is calling the yard care folks tomorrow.

Nite all! Sweet dreams!

wvgal_dana said...

Good Friday Morning Shirley, Margy and Lori so far.

I have a hummer feeding right now.

Lynn-Hedgie so glad you corrected my comment. Not belly surgery just a scope into the right knee for the tear and clean up.

I am worrying now about the orthotic in the left shoe. Plus they said both shoes. Dr. Wise only said in the left. So I am putting on hold since I called for Dr. Wise to explain. Why he said left shoe and they are saying both. This is something they will have to put my feet into and mold.

Escapee not found yet.

EAGLE IN NEST!!!!!!!

wvgal_dana said...

BOTH IN NEST!

ONE JUST FLEW OUT

wvgal_dana said...

I think Belle just flew out.

wvgal_dana said...

Blogger didn't post last post right away.

Liberty just flew out.

wvgal_dana said...

Going to put pics in album.

Keep your eyes open !!!

Where is everyone on fb????

Costume Lady said...

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...
Hey, Dana...that was a BIG treat, wasn't it? I haven't seen the two of them together for soooo long!

Costume Lady said...

I was just thinking how unfair it is of the Insurance Companies, not paying for Orthotics or Hearing Aids. One is like medicine for your back and the other is like medicine for your ears...think about it, it's an appliance instead of medicine! So not fair:(

Judie said...

Good morning now to Margy, Lori, and Shirley.

Margy, if off to work, have a quiet day. If off to enjoy a mental health day, double enjoyment to you.

Well, both gone just that quickly but it was a nice visit and a very special treat to see Belle and Lib.

Checked the lion cub site which is unavailable. Assume the med checkups are in progress as cam is temporarily unavailable. Hoping all will be healthy.

Okay, off for coffee and newspaper. BBL

wvgal_dana said...

lIBERTY!!!

Costume Lady said...

Blogger cop got me:(
It is Liberty, sitting at his favorite spot, near the egg cup, thinking about HP time;) Well, you know he is!! Can't have a new family without it:)
I do hope we are blessed with 2 or 3 eaglets this year. Such fun to see their interaction.

Judie said...

Good morning, Wanda. Oh my, this is a really nice long visit this morning, isn't it?

Wanda, maybe some AARP lobbyist should present orthotics and hearing aids as preventive medicine.

Okay, now I really am off to get coffee and the newspaper. I mean it this time!

Costume Lady said...

My favorite part of the day, Judie...newspaper and coffee:)

Costume Lady said...

But, then again, I like Supper and Jeopardy, too and on and on;)

Costume Lady said...

I wonder what the purpose of the sycamore leaves are? When there are eaglets in the nest, I can understand that, but no one is at home?

wvgal_dana said...

This last picture I put in Liberty had stayed in the nest 15 minutes. He was preening himself. Beautiful Man That He Is ( :

I don't know how to send around the pictues like Hedgie does. That say "Yahoo and has all the recent pics added to album". I added (7) seven of them.

hedgie said...

Good morning! I slept in....and missed all of the nest action!

Dana, I don't send the pics....that's a new feature of Yahoo. It will show up in the mail in the next day or so.

Agree.....appliances for the body should be included in covered items by insurances. Heck, if Medicare pays for mastectomy bras, they should pay for the other items, too.

Judie, Margy is at work!

Costume Lady said...

Yes, Lynn...Medicare pays for 4 bras every 2 years and a prosthesis every 4 years. What the heck is the difference between these items and the hearing aid and the orthodic? Of course, that is MEDICARE, don't know about Insurance Companies. But, if Medicare covers it, so should Insurance Companies.

hedgie said...

Wow, YAHOO worked fast this AM----already posted Margy's pics in Momster mail!

hedgie said...

Speaking of insurance....I got mail from Humana yesterday--it was a little catalog of merchandise. Told me I was being rewarded and could select an item from the catalog! So I called the number and told them which item I wanted (Tasco pocket binocs!) and asked why? They said because I had a cholesterol screening!!

hedgie said...

Yeah, Wanda....regular insurance sure cover mastectomy bras....they cover 1 wig with Dr's Rx. for hair loss, whether chemo or just plain alopecia.

Lolly said...

Good morning! Neat about the binocs, Lynn!

Sounds like a grand time in the nest this morning.

It is 72 this morning and low humidity. Feels wonderful. Heading out to mow and have a funeral to attend at two.

Have a great day!

wvgal_dana said...

Hedgie-Lynn I have cancelled my appointment with the Orthotics. Just got to speak with Dr. Wise's PA. He spoke with Dr. Wise and said yes they do have it wrong at Orthotics. The correction needs to be for the left foot. The one that goes in right will have no correction. They have to make in pairs. They will re-check with my insurance.

You know I am thinking about this "pair" thing. One if I only had (1) one leg????????

wvgal_dana said...

Neat Lynn-Hedgie about the pocket binocs (:

Lynne2 said...

Hi all!

I have finally figured out how to post the pics on my blog of the birds Steve and Friend Dave saw last weekend....need some ID help!!!

Lolly, so sorry about the name typo! I have been wondering about your name...so unusual. I looked it up and see that it's a variation of the name Laura, derived from the latin word laurus, which means "laurel plant". SO your daughter is named after you, sort of? Very cool!

We didn't get the thunder and lightning by the time the storms got to us last night they brought only 2 small booms and wind and rain.

Very excited to see the pics and read of the nest visit this morning! Nestorations beginning already? Wow, I was thinking that's kind of early. For some reason I thought that started in October.

Authorities in Washington say police shot a man who pointed a gun at them on Capitol Hill.

U.S. Capitol Police spokeswoman Sgt. Kimberly Schneider says officers were told around 5 a.m. Friday to be on the lookout for a man with a gun.

Officers later saw the man, who pointed the gun at them. Schneider says the officers opened fire after the man refused to drop his weapon and that officers fired because they were in "fear for their lives."

The man, whose name has not been released, was brought to a hospital. His condition is not immediately known.

DANA...thanks for the chuckle! "What if I only had one leg":):) GOOD POINT!

Lynn, I had a cholesterol screening and go nothing but a bill:(
I have some of those pocket binocs. and REALLY like them. Got them BRAND NEW at a thrift store, in our travels, for $8.00. They retail for $79.00:) Never know what you might find in a Thrift Store!

Lynne2 said...

wow, $8...cool! I'm loving my Freecycle too...got a toaster/broiler oven last night in great shape!

ON FB, Bev reports that her mother in law fell at the nursing home today and has a broken femur. How awful.

wvgal_dana said...

Prayers for Bev's MIL.

Yes I too enjoy the thrift shopes. Hedgie don't know if you have been to the one in Hagerstown by the train tracks. Clean nice store.

Dana, I can see needing the 2nd orthotic for balance...but wonder how much they are charging for it, since all it needs is the right size! Glad that Dr. Wise got back to you. BTW----how old is that guy now??? Or is it a Jr.?

Lynne...going to look at your pics now.

Poor Mrs. Riffe...

Lolly, your weather sounds as perfect as ours seems to be---for now!

Hope you all make a great Friday.

Hi Thelma.....(:

What's going on down your way lady?

Lynne2 said...

Hi Thelma! Yep, sure will be her in NO TIME!!! WOO HOO! Now wouldn't be a good time for me to get a job that requires Saturday work! But I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Lynn, I really think they look like juvie eagles too! We are going to take a walk up there tomorrow hopefully to see if we can spot any more. Maybe they are migrants!

Hello lovely friends! I just wanted to jump on here and let ya'll know Tom's poor little Momma fell in the bathroom at the nursing home this morning and broke her femur (the big bone in the top of the leg). There is an orthopedic doctor available in Princeton, so we didn't have to fly her anywhere. I am sure she can't have surgery for several days, if at all, as she is on a blood thinner. I know God is in charge, but this woman has been through so much. Pray for her and the doctors for wisdom. Love you all!

I will let you all know when I hear anything.

Papers are read, donuts are eaten, all puter stuff is caught up to the moment.....now it's time to drag out the vacuum cleaner and go put sheets in the dryer......does anyone else wait until all the sheets are dirty and it's time to change the bed----and then wash all the sheets in one day rahter than doing them each time you strip the bed? ARGH----one of my lazy habits!

hedgie said...

Hi, Thelma!! Right you are....only 5 weeks away!!!!

Dana, I don't do thrift shops. I just am not a shopper. I know what I'm after---go and get it; no browsing or window shopping for me! Let Margy know about that place, tho'---she finds tremendous bargains, too!

hedgie said...

Yes, Sissy, please do. Some of us saw it on FB. We are praying for Mrs. Riffe.

wvgal_dana said...

No Hedgie-Lynn it is still the same Dr. Dennis Wise. His son also does the same kind of work/surgery. I want him though. He did wonderful with my cervical/spinal stenosis when he did the Total Knee Replacement in May 2007. He is a great dr. just the people doing the Orthotics got it wrong. They thought I needed correction both feet.

Good Early Afternoon - so thankful that a lot of you were able to see the royal couple! Pictures are great!
Had our thunderstorm last evening - first clap of thunder and our 2 cats' heads went way up.
It's Friday already! Weeks sure don't last long when you are busy. It won't be long until it is Open House - excited to see everyone.

Mema Jo said...

Praying for the comfort and healing of Mrs. Riffee cause that has to hurt - a lot. I wish they could surgically correct it.

Quick hello before heading to the kitchen to cook some tomatoes. Not enough to can but more than enough to eat before going bad. Not a good year for us growing produce.

Prayers for Mrs. Riffe. I hope she heals as quickly as possible. So sorry.

Lynn and I do have a commom trait -- I don't like shopping, browsing, etc. Know what I want and go for it -- or go online which I plan to do later today. Wash sheets same day.

Grrrrr! Stink bugs have arrived at my abode. They are no more welcome here than in WV. Someone told me a single stink bug can lay as many as 400 eggs. True? Said to vacuum but then would eggs hatch in the vacuum bag? Gross!

Off to kitchen.

Hi, Jim!!! Loved the pics, etc. on the Catalina update!

STINK BUG INFORMATION: When you go to put away your patio umbrella. When I brought mine inside it stank like stink bugs. Either do a wash job or spray with Oust or Febreze. Stink bugs DO NOT lay eggs in house I was told.

Judie I would still be throwing out my vac. bags. If your vac. has bags.

Lynne2 said...

GOing to miss ATWT...babysitting this afternoon. Will have to watch online later.

hedgie said...

Judie, don't vacuum up stinkbugs. Will make your vacuum cleaner stink. Girls say their dad did it...whole house reeked. Duh....we had central vac installed in that house which vented outdoors....don't know why he didn't get it fixed when it broke---probably wouldn't have the problem of the smell with it.

hedgie said...

Dana....there COULD already be eggs in the umbrella!!!! Then they would hatch in the house!!
