Jo, birthday greetings to your SIL, too. Mmmmmm...crabs!!! Sounds good!

Good Morning to you Hedgie.
Isn't it beautiful outside? I love it.

hedgie said...

Had a lethal birdstrike on a sunroom window yesterday evening. Heard the hit...found the body this morning....poor birdie. :(

hedgie said...

Yes, Jo. Just fear that the wind is too strong for the Navy parachute team to perform at the airshow. Maybe the wind will die down come late afternoon.

Gotta go down and drag in softener salt. Got it as far as basement door yesterday. Bill said to go ahead and put in one bag and they try resetting the softener....if still making funny noise, then will have to call Sears for service call--yuck!

Quick visit.

Happy Birthday to Iris, Ashley, and Jo's SIL.

Jo, sorry about the pinch and stink. Sure hope eating crabs makes up for it.

Hi Jim, hope you enjoy the bbq.

Hard to believe it's time for Wanda, and Gene, to begin thinking about costumes. Seems like just a week or two ago the season was over. Any holiday plans with GG?

Hi Lowreeda. Enjoy the car meet, if you go. Nice weather for it.

Shirley, at least once you finish with the dentist you will have mostly a day off.

Lynn, I take it the water softener is trying to be sick. Hope it will heal itself without a service call.

Costume Lady said...

Holiday plans with GG? I guess you mean Labor Day and not Halloween!
Yes, we will spend the afternoon with her probably cook out on the grill and maybe look at some more of her old photos...can't believe she has some that I have never seen!

Happy Birthday also, to Ashley and Jo's SIL...lots of B'Days this month:)

hedgie said...

Have fun, Jo!!

Judie, are you and Darth doing anything special this weekend?

Wanda, SO glad that you are going through pics with GG now; hope she can ID them all for you....label them!!

hedgie said...

All I can say is that when they critique this air show.......there is going to be LOTS of criticism. The stuff I've been hearing on the scanner borders on criminal negligence on the part of many.

Back from the library and grocery store. I picked up a prescription at the grocery store pharmacy. It seems like those pills get more expensive every time I get them.

One month's supply would be $929.99 but for insurance. I paid $64.67. That's just one prescription. The other one is expensive, too. I really have to make sure that I have insurance of some kind.

PA Nana said...

Hi everyone! Just a quick check-in to send birthday wishes to Ashley, Iris and Jo's SIL. What a great day to have a birthday, the weather is perfect and I'm loving this.

Just an update on my BIL,Charlie. He is now home,on 2 antibiotics and in severe pain. Keep the prayers going. He still has another surgery to go when he's over this infection.

Did you all see the panda twin cubs born in Japan. So cute!

It's supper time. bbl

wvgal_dana said...

Keeping those prayers going for Charlie Diann.

hedgie said...

Hi Shirley and Diann!
Yes, it is a lovely day!
Medicine costs are outrageous, and it is all about corporate greed! Shirley, when you start shopping for a Part D program, choose very carefully! And the inane "donut-hole" will not disappear until 2019! What kind of reform is that??
Diann, any idea how long it will be before they take Charlie back to surgery? Prayers continue, of course, girlfriend!

stronghunter said...

Lynn, I may be going to Part B very soon. I do not want to have to accept the insurance plan from my employer if I don't have to. It's an HMO that will require me to change doctors.

stronghunter said...

The insurance Kathryn has right now is an HMO and it is giving her fits.

stronghunter said...

Every prescription she has taken in has been rejected until they can decide whether or not it is justified or if there is a generic. She has had to self-pay so the can get the medicines she needs. She is supposed to have physical therapy for the shoulder pain, but they have stalled on that, too. This is after she waited three months for the policy to take effect.

I know I've complained about this before. Sorry.

Tom has a very important medication and cannot take the generic. They are dreading what will happen with that one.

Judie said...

Wanda, I meant Labor Day. Maybe you can get GG to dress up as a sweet grandmama for halloween?

Shirley, sorry about the medications and expense. Hoping Kathryn and Tom can get things worked out, also.

Nothing special for us for the long weekend. Just relaxation. I have been watching a mom and dad cardinal feeding a baby. I am surprised as I thought the babies were all born in the Spring. Fun to watch. Coloring suggests maybe a baby female.

Lynn, what happened at the air show? What criminal negligence?

Hi Diann. Still sending prayers for Charlie.

Hi Dana.

Off to put my feet up and check out t.v. BBL

stronghunter said...

Hi Judie,

I am planning a quiet weekend, too.

hedgie said...

Shirley, open enrollment for D starts in Nov., I believe.
As for Tom's med....Dr. should write letter explaining why he can't use the generic form and send it in. If that doesn't work...check with drug manufacturer for their cost-assistance program.
Judie---things like: because road was shut down and residents were "evacuated" for the day, they denied a man with a prosthetic leg the right to go home to get needed medication; all traffic on one road was changed to ONE WAY, but somehow two-way traffic got through and there were many head-on near-misses; attendees were left standing waiting for shuttle buses for so long---without water (no one was allowed to bring in any beverage) that some were getting faint---medics had to be called; alleged injured couldn't be located. Those are the highlights. Lots of lowlight SNAFU's as well.

PA Nana said...

Back briefly. Lynn, Charlie will have his next surgery when the infection is cleared up. don't know how long the medicated apparatus lasts but he'll have to have a regular hip replacement then.

Shirley, I feel for you and the cost of medications. Charlie's first prescription for antibiotic to go home was $995. Of course, Judy's ins. didn't cover it so they had to go with the $298 one. She didn't say if it was the generic or what. I almost fell off my chair when she told me.

My doctor had to write a letter to Jim's carrier for one of my meds when the generic just wouldn't do and maybe your doctor will do the same for you. Maybe we should all buy stock in these pharmaceutical companies? Someone is making a haul!

Had Jim turn the old furnace on and hope it doesn't cough. It's old and not working efficiently but still praying it lasts until we get a new one. It sure got cooler. Loving it!

If I don't get back later everyone have a good evening and restful night.

God bless

Costume Lady said...

Medicare part D is terrific...
I do have to pay a monthly premium of $30-35 but my meds are very reasonable. For instance, I take a pill, once a day, that costs $400.47 for a three month supply, I only pay $56.85...that is for 3 months! I take others that are equally as costly but reasonable for me.

stronghunter said...

Lynn, I believe they said November, but I will be able to enroll before then as a first-timer. Otherwise, I would not be able to enroll without going without coverage for a month. I hope I won't have to do that. It is already into September.

...Y-a-w-n!...Hi, Everyone!

Getting here pretty late again--we were over at SIL & BIL's house, taking care of the bulldogs. Ate dinner there, and then watched some TV. It was a few degrees cooler there today, and it's supposed to cool down more tomorrow.

Sorry this wish is belated now (it's SO late!), but HAPPY BIRTHDAY to IRIS, ASHLEY, AND JO'S SIL!!!

Went shopping today and got some new clothes for our GG-daughter, Sierra. Gotta mail them to her on Tuesday.

Watched a new William Shatner show that we'd recorded. Think it's called 'Aftermath'. Very, very interesting! This one was about three of the victims of the DC sniper shootings. Judie, you'd like this show, for sure!

Well, getting very tired, so am leaving the porch light on. Judie, thanks for turning on the night light. Prayers are said for everyone--especially for Charlie.
The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are both enabled. Sleep well and soundly, everyone! Talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight.
Love all of you! :o]

Tomorrow church and then Dallas. Every one will be there except Joseph who is going to a slumber party.

How did you guess? An armadillo cuckoo clock, that cuckoos in English and can be used as a toilet tissue holder! I never thought you would get it with the clues I gave you. Wow, you are so sharp!!

Morning, all!

Nice cool crisp night and morning. It felt good to sleep under the covers with the fresh air.

Went to Ajay's parents last night for an engagement party. Her younger brother is getting married in 2 weeks. He is in the Navy, stationed in Norfolk. He will be going to Cuba in February. We sat around the fire pit and played "The Newlywed Game"...remember that one? (I didn't play) Had a lot of good laughs!

Good Morning in Eagle Land to All.

Wanda do you really think GG will want to go? Would be nice (:

When I was typing I heard this noise on our live feed. Chattering...I guess it is some kind of bird. I also heard it yesterday. Would love to see it.
Don't sound like the squirrels.

wvgal_dana said...

Shirley sorry about Kathryn and Tom's Medical Insurance including the cost of what is not generic and even then they put restrictions on them too. I will add that to prayers.

Believe me I am there too. Big
surprise when they lowered our Insurance Oct.1, 2009 with all these deductibles. Higher prices for drugs. Plus the cost of test until you reach $1500.00 for the year.grrrrrrrr

Judie I also would think that all baby birds would have been born and that step all over.
Neat and exciting to watch and guess it is a baby female. Cute and Enjoy the GIFT (:

Please Diann make sure that furnace is NOT putting out carbon dioxide. We brought a house
in Fells Point in Baltimore. Nice but when they came to check furnace it got condemned.

Good Sunday Morning!!
It is 70° here!!! We did have hummers yesterday, haven't really checked yet.
BTW, put pics of the flutterbies I saw yesterday on blog. I think Wanda's is maybe called a Hummingbird Moth, but doesn't look like a clearwing---same Sphinx moth family. They are so pretty--think I collected one during high school and the books only gave a scientific name back then--no common!
Lynn, have used that bird site in the past---that's Federal Govt. up in Laurel. I've been using Cornell lately, but looks like they've upgraded Pax.
Well, need more coffee, then should shove off to office for a couple hours.

Got a new note from June, Karen's friend:
Hi Lynn,

Thanks for your concern. Karen's thrush is finally gone, thank God! She
has some good days and some not so good. We finally got her mom in an
assisted Living facility. It's a very nice place and I think she's finally settled
down. She was trying to escape!

Karen only had 1 round of chemo, she decided after being so sick from it
that she wanted some quality time. I think she made the right decision, the
chemo really knocked her down.
I'm hanging in there, I just want to make sure she has good days and I cherish
every second of time with her!
Thanks Lynn for the prayers and to the momsters, we need them and they do help!
hugs back to you all!
