Good Afternoon, all. Glad to see Belle in the nest. Thanks for the new thread Steve and getting the cam back up.What's our prognosis?
Well Helloooooo Steven!!! Thanks for getting us up again! We appreciate you!
Back from outing to see our cam is working.....neat...thanks Steven for the New Thread.Glad Suzanne heard the word from Lisa the Lord BW has been there.Hi Paula, Vicky, ooopppsss what happened to Glo, Mits, Jo ???Yea coming over here???????????
Both eagles at Maine.
EAGLES AT NE, WE AND SC.
Looks like Lord BW told over for the Mrs.
Ok who has candlelight duty up the tree for Belle tonight???
I'll go Dana!
awww aren't you a sweetie Vicky
Just love those eagles, even travel many miles to see them, so shucks, why wouldn't I go up that tree for a vigil???!!
Vicky your a nut in a funny way I mean that ( :Bet you really enjoyed yourself with all those eagles at Glo's.
Well time to fix dinner bbl
Yes Dana, I'm nuts, a self admitted one at that! As far as my visit with Glo and eagles last Friday & Sat., PRICELESS We did see many eagles and I think most of the pics that are on her film loop we ones that I took. (She will correct me if I am wrong!!)
EAGLES AT KENT CAM 1 AND 2
ACTUALLY ALL 3 CAMS.
BOTH IN THE NEST NOW...WHAT A SITE.
Looks like rain on their feathers.
both eagles our nest.
Lib brought in food.
Eggs are showing.
Belle was hungry..
That was a beautiful sight! Liberty taking care of Belle as Belle takes care of their eggs. Most of these couples we are watching, are very considerate of each other's needs. It's only when they are repairing the nest that they squabble with each other.
Done eating...turned eggs and settled back in
She has something on the side of the nest that she has been snacking on also today, got some leftovers, she should be set for the night.:):)
Darn, he come the shadows:(.
Eagles at ALL 3 California nests.
Eagle at Kent up on the limb.I will be glad that by tomorrow hopefully the snow will have disappeared from OUR nest.
Eagle has been there on the limb, since I took the earlier pictures. Going to fix dinner...
Just went on to earthcam.com and went to NO, missed the parades, but people are walking around Bourbon Street...pretty quiet right now.
Certainly been sitting on that limb for a long long time in Kent.
He sure has , Dana...off to watch NCIS...BBL.
Did you see Belle turn the 3 eggs a while ago?? I did! BUt I missed when Lib brought food, if anyone has that pic I'd sure like to have it, firstname.lastname@example.org
Mits what do you watch after NCIS?
I usually watch HOUSE, Dana, but it is not on, because of American Idol, so I was watching Law and Order, Criminal Intent, but it is not keeping my attention. Will be watching Boston Legal at 10. Belle looks like she has her wings spread out over the eggs, might be raining there.
Just looked at Sherperdstown radar and it is raining, looks heavy too.
Belle is tenting! We have rain here but not a heavy rain.. Temps must still be up because that with the rain the snow is leaving......Schools here though due to the walkers, will be 2 hrs late again. So you know where I will be in the early morning - BUS DUTY....
I see her tenting, Jo.
I looked at her after I read your remark about her wings. Does your radar show any rain down in CambridgeNow Dana You & Mits are not allowed to watch the same shows 2 nights in a row!!! lol
Mits, is that TianTian on the Cam 1?Really sprawled out!
I usually watch Law and Order Criminal Intent lol
Sorry Jo neither of us knew lol
Yep, it's raining here, too. Can't believe Frederick county is 2 hr delay tomorrow
Jo you'll never never never believe this one. Mits and me also watch some webcams that are the same on the internet lmbo ( : wink
Did everyone eat their donut today???
Aaahhhh, the camera is working again... Hi, everybody. Is it my imagination or are Liberty and Belle both in the nest tonight trying to keep it dry as possible??Got home too late to see many nests tonight.Have a good stub of a week,Jim
I could not find a KINKLING....So I'm eating pound cake!
Megan - It's because of the sidewalks in town or at any school that the Walkers use. This morning I can't see what the 2 hrs delay accomplished... Same for tomorrow in my book.
Jim We think it is just Belle and she is tenting due to the rain.
I see her tenting, too.BTW, the West End nest has an egg this evening!
Well I think you all are going for the 10 o'clock shows..... I may needto go play my games..........
I understand, cause sidewalks are still ice covered at daughter's school, too. But makes it very difficult for working parents. Fred. county is the only school system with delays tomorrow.
Paula - Thanks for that news. Now - will they be taking it from there in order to hatch & then place the chick back in the nest??
Megan - maybe the transportation dept will see that and cancel the 2 hrs.
Paula, I just took time to read about the removal of the eggs on the WE site. Be great if video was on & we saw them doing that. I can't imagine how it is done with the eagle nesting all the time.........
Well I'm saying night all and going to watch tv; probably fall asleep watching it. lolMorning Suzanne
Paula - where did you get the pic of all those doggies who are wiggling their noses?
JO,that is Mei Xiang on cam 1. Good news about WE, Paula, please give us the heads up when they remove the egg.
THANKS, MEMA JO, I LOOKED AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES, BUT I CAN'T DECIDE. THERE'S TOO MUCH EAGLE FOR ONE, IT LOOKS LIKE, BUT THERE'S NOT ENOUGH EAGLE FOR TWO. I GUESS SHE'S A BETTER TENTER THAN I THOUGHT.JIM
They will try to wait until all the eggs are laid at the nest before going in to remove them. They will replace the real eggs with wooden fake ones. The eagles will incubate the fake eggs. They will sit on them until they are ready to put the chick(s) back into the nest, at which time they will remove the fake egg, and place the chick in the nest w/ a broken egg shell. I think they will try to remove them within a couple of days of being laid...because the shells are thin and will crack from the DDT.If I find out when they are removing them...I'll give you a heads up.
Jo, I don't remember where I found that pic! Did you look at all the pics tonight? We have Egg pics.
Thanks, Paula,,,,Yes, it is raining in Cambridge tonight.
Jim, Belle is a really good tenter.....:)
Just got back from reading the comments & seeing the egg pics, Paula. That was good!!!
I bet that first thing tomorrow am all those bloggers are going to be tuned into the WE cam since it went off on them right after spotting the egg!
Time to call it a dayGood Night AllPleasant dreams & peaceful sleepPrayers going up for everyoneGood Morning Suzanne
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE, AND CONGRATS TO THE WE EAGLES ON THIER FIRST EGG OF THEIR SEASON...MORNING, SUZANNE
Belle and I are both awake, but I'm heading to sleep now.
Good morning, eagle world. Good morning, Jo. HARK!!! We have a picture! Wasn't even going to bring up the cam until I saw Steve's note! How nice to see OUR EAGLES!!!Great day coming in, 38° at my house, 45° here, if you can believe that! But foggy, then mostly foggy, then VERY foggy, until I got into Thurmont. Then it cleared, and no fog here.May try to read the blogs if I have time. Lady BW is snoozing away. Just think, we may have little 'uns about this time next week. How cool is that! What a view to watch them grow. All have a great eagle day. Looks like whoever is on our nest is awake. Can see someone, the blinds aren't quite drawn, but the eagle spirits are making themselves know. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Oops, waking up. Both BW and ours are awake. Ours is turning eggs, Lady BW just did, now she's got her wings spread way out and kinda looking around. I think that is Big Belle on the nest, looks pretty good sized. She's looking around too. What's the deal, both girls awake at this hour looking around? Wonder if they're meentally linked or something.
Man, Lady BW is grooming her individual feathers in her wing. How cool is that! Looks like our Belle is comfy, but not ready to go back to sleep yet. Oh there goes Lady BW again. That is so cool!
Well, Lady BW is finished grooming, so now it's time to turn the eggs... and switch positions.Looks like our Belle is comfy, she's in the same position.
Lady BW just looked up at the cam, her one eye was glowing. Our Belle hasn't moved. I'm hoping she's just comfy and the cam is updating. The eagle spirits are moving, though. Oh there goes Lady BW scratching again. Or grooming. Her right wing is driving her nuts this morning. Wonder why?
Glancing back throug the blog, good morning, Dana, good morning, Mits. I blog, then maybe read old blogs. Was gonna say I thought our Lady BW was comfy and going back to sleep, but no, she's still moving her head around. Well, there it goes back under the wing. or maybe that's another bite. 15 seconds will tell. 10 9 8 ok, OK, head is gonna stay under the wing, and maybe she IS gonna go back to sleep. Oh geesh, looking around again. Forget it, our Lady BW is awake.Haven't seen a lot of movement from our Big Belle, so I'm hoping she is extremely comfortable and the cam is really updating. Guess daylight will tell if she doesn't move before then...
Lady BW turning eggs again, and believe it or not, so is our Belle. At least she's in a different position! Oh, she's still moving. Wonderful!! Our cam IS up!
Knew it couldn't last, but I was sure hoping it would!! Last couple refreshes on our cam were black screen with that dreaded little red X. Now I've got a pic, but guess those psycho lines just can't stay away. You can still see Belle though, and of course the eagle spirits. Hope it doesn't get any worse. Lady BW still seems to be resting, but she's not sleeping.
Lady BW is up showing us her eggs!
Now that we've seen them, she's turning them. You can get a good shot of what's left of that poor flower too. Ok, eggs turned, gonna sit back down.
Lady BW just peeked up at the cam. Yes, honey, we saw your beautiful eggs!!!
Well...it's getting daylight in Blackwater...You can see some geese or ducks in the back now. Guess the water has thawed a bit.I'm disappointed to say, our cam doesn't look any brighter, and Belle's been comfy for a while.Siggggghhhhhhhh
Well, pretty much daylight out now. At least in BW. Can't see the ducks or geese anymore, they've moved out of the shot. Can see another flower in Lady BWs nest, but it looks like it's too high for her to get to at the moment. Corn cob is still hanging in there. Um, not getting daylight in Shepherdstown yet.
Well, I'd say the cam has stopped, because it's too dark a picture for 7 am.
Well, the sun's out here. Very bright. Also looks bright in BW. But ya know? I don't see a bit of difference in WV...still dark.Lady BW just took off, there are our 2 eggs!
She's back, turning eggs.
Hi Megan. Yup, was hoping it was just me that couldn't see. Well, didn't quite make it 24 hours, did we? Did you see Lady BWs eggs a few seconds ago?
Hey Suzanne, guess that freaking battery isn't holding a charge. nope, haven't been watching cams, dealing with the crisis of the day here, work van won't start. Waiting for the one problem free day(gonna be a long wait) LOL-
Oh geesh, always something. yeah, if you ever get a problem free day, you're gonna have to go out and celebrate!!
Turning eggs again...
OH!! Both in nest now.
Well that lasted one whole refresh!
Ah, but it's Lord BW on the nest now.
Wow, juvie in osprey nest, up close and personal.
Oh my, he's rearranging sticks!!
Ok, he's got his back to the cam now.
Lord BW still on eggs, looking around. My osprey cam didn't update, so juvie still has back to cam.
Dang, gone on this refresh.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...well as ausual "THE" cam is down again.
Believe that is Lady BW on the eggs now, I didn't see the switch.
Both EAGLES AT MAINE,
One just flew off.
Morning, Mits! Believe it or not, it was up a little this morning before daylight. I think it was Belle in the nest, and I did see her move several times. But then she got comfy and didn't move for a long time...turns out, the cam stopped updating. Well, lines were updating just fine actually, just not the real pic of our kids! Told Megan we didn't quite make it 24 hours, did we?
Good (Too Early for Jo) Morning Suzanne, Megan and Mits! Heading over for BUS DUTY. Rain last evening made some of the snow disappear & I guess the sunshine today will also help.OUR cam - NO COMMENTChecked out all cams that have daylight! I'll be back later this morning - Hang in there!Megan- Did you leave your jumper cables over at the tree battery? You just are not suppose to be where you were headed just yet...
Wow, good morning, MemaJo! It sure IS early for you. At least for bus duty it's not as cold as it has been. Bit of wind though, so bundle up. Talk to you when you get back.
Suz, on the osprey page. Lisa has a pic of a mystery bird that visited yesterday.
Egg turning time again.
Cool, Mits, thanks. I have no idea what that is. If I enlarge the picture, I just lose everything in pixels! Can't tell. But it may not be too early for birds to come back, you have robins, don't you? But they're usually the first back, so your guess is as good as mine. I didn't see that update this morning, so thanks for telling me!
My robins are in and out of here all winter...its been a week and a half since I saw them...the bird at BW looks like one of those birds that hang out at SC, Paula would know the name of it.
EAGLE AT NE.
EAGLE AT CO...
Dawn is breaking on cam 1 in Kent. Love watching these 3 cams, it is soooooo cool!!!
Mystery bird, looks like a type of swallow maybe-not sure, get out your magnifying glass, Mits, it helps. Mystery bird at NCTC also, it's very blue...HA,ha,ha-Later..
Megan, that is your WVA BLUE BIRD, found ONLY in Sherperdstown, WVA! YUK-YUK!
KENT is just and awesome sight in the a.m.
Must be my eyes, but it looks like an eagle high in the branch at KENT.
LOL Mits and Floralgirl!!! How true, how true.
Yup, think you're right, Mits!
Eagle back in Maine...nestoration going on.
Uh oh, eagle nest went black. Thing is, it'll be back shortly, I'm thinking!!!
Yup, isn't that amazing!!!
Its probably just the tree trunk????
Mits, look at cam 3. What's that white? Is that a head?
Think that's an eagle in the nest, you can almost see the head on cam2.
I just saw that Suz, think it is an eagle in the nest:).
Mits, that is a head on cam 2, it moves every refresh.
Diffently an eagle.
LOL, yup, she moves every refresh, and you can almost see it now. It will be daylight shortly!
They even have the correct time on these cams.
Oh how cool is that! They mated the other day, so maybe we have an egg? Oh wow, wouldn't that be exciting? Or maybe she's just practicing. Hurry up, daylight!
Need to find those techies.....
BOTH EAGLES AT NE.
You're right, I didn't notice. Amazing what some cams can do, isn't it?That's all I'm gonna say about that!
Wow, she's sure checking, isn't she? Can't wait for daylight to see if we have an egg...
A picture is worth a thousand words, Suzanne:).
Morning Paula, you are the busy beaver at WE forum:):):).
Ah, she left.
That is just breath-taking. to watch the a.m. dawning with an eagle in the nest.
No she didn't, she's in the tree.
Oh man, they're both checking the nest. You watching this, Mits?
LOL....They are both lookin in the hole.
Man, they sure are! Look at them looking! Wow, bet we have an egg...
Nope no egg yet.
Ah, did you see the kissing?
Don't see an egg, though. Maybe that was a final inspection before the egg is laid.
Oh, there are our eggs at BW.
No eggs.Lady BW is playing peek-a-book with the cam. Well, she was. Took too long to type that!
I think I the pic I had of them copulating was from the 17th.
Wow, well that was exciting!
That was just great, that 3rd cam will really be up close and personal when the eaglets arrive.
Oh ok, then what is it? 3 to 5 days or something? The 17th was Sat, so it's possible. Maybe later today. Wouldn't that be too cool if she laid an egg right in front of us!
There's lots of grasses in that nest. Nice and soft for fresh eggs, don't ya think?
I can't remember, I thought it was at least 2 weeks after copulating, but I don't know if the deed was done before the 17th, so it could be any day. Loraine said yesterday the eagles were ready, but Mother Nature was not very much help, she said they had rain, snow, hail and high winds yesterday.
Need to go get food...brb.
5-10 days on the eggs....but they copulate so much....it's hard to tell when the eggs will actually be laid!!!
I'm sure the 17th was not the 1st time. So it is anybodys' guess.
Had bacon in the microwave and realized it is ASH WEDNESDAY... no meat for me today:).
Yup, it is. I'm having my breakfast for lunch. Have a bagle with cream cheese, but my boss brought something, so helped him eat that. After all, don't want to be rude and say no thank you! So now I'm having my breakfast for lunch. Works for me.
Good Morning cam watchers.Sure thing 1st pulled up our cam before coming to comments. We hang in there but it's been such a disappointment. Sad when can't see ... happy when can.Suzanne you've been busy this morning.
Morning, Dana. Yup, eagles have kept me busy. My heart is just now slowing down from the excitement in Kent this am. Love those 3 cams.BW turning eggs.
Suzanne you've been to BW. There where the osprey nest is. The mystery bird. It wasn't on the edge of the box. Is there something that would be where it was standing for it to stand on???? To make it as high as the box??
It looked like it was standing on the edge of the nest to me, Dana. There is nothing out that way, only other thing that's outside the box is the cam.
Wow, check out that sun on cam 2. Take your sunglasses when you do!
WOW, that is bright! Morning Dana.
Well, the flower that was out by the edge of the nest is now IN the nest. Lady BW has it in back of her. Wonder when she'll destroy that one???? Looks like she's eating the corn, though.
EAGLE AT NE AND CO.
Of course the eagle at WE is sitting on her egg. PAULA what is her name?
2 EAGLES AT CO.
Her name is Wray. She is the one without any wingblings (wing tags). The other female w/ the 69 on her wings is Dianna. The male is 01 - but we have given him the nickname of Superman and Speedy Gonzales. :)
Superman because it was one Male and 2 females....then Speedy Gonzales because it was WBTYM :)
Ok, :):):), I give up...WBTYM????
Going to go get dressed and ready for the ZOO.
LOL, Paula. Mits, ...thank you ma'am.
Oh my just came back in and read lol Mits just think alittle on it I had too.......then it was like omg I got it !!
OK...I got it:):):)!!!!!
Have fun at the zoo today, Mits. It's not so bad out today, but it is windy.
Egg turning time...
Lady BW is rearranging sticks again.
I'm still dressing warmly, the snow and ice on the ground reflect up and makes it chilly. Fun time we had watching the KENT EAGLES this a.m.:).
Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle day!Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Yes, Mits, it sure was. They haven't been back to the nest since all that excitement! Kinda glad, not sure my heart can take it! I'm wondering if we'll have an eagle in the nest tomorrow morning. Be fun to see.Have a great day. Talk to everyone tomorrow.
Heading out to the Zoo..TTUL!
Eagle in our nest.....HAHA made ya look!I'm sure there is an eagle in our nest...we just don't know which one....:) I'm just trying to lighten it up a little around here :)
