Hi Steve Thanks for the new thread
Wow, thanks for taking care of us Steve!!!
PAULA, SUZ LEFT AT NOON.
Mits,Did you sneak up to NCTC w/ your torch last night? :)
Suz, Did you see the info on the BW Eagle Festival? They might have an Ewwwiieee. Hopefully you will read this message tomorrow!
I cannot tell a lie, Paula....no I did not:) Prayed to St. Camery, patron saint of cams....just kidding, little catholic humor there..very little.
Just heard a loud rumble of thunder here, front must be moving in.
Enie, meany, miney mo...3 eagles in a row at SC.
Egg showing again at WE.
Tai is playing the run around hide and seek game again.
Afternoon my eagle friends. Thank you Steven for New Thread.Alls I remember is Megan said she throws her banana peel out for the Mockingbird, then said you can throw out over rippened bananas too. That Mockingbirds love them.Liberty and Belle both where just at our nest. Liberty was on the nest I think I think it is Belle now.
He and Mei are inside now.
Looks like the last of the snow has melted :):) Just in time for the nasty weather on Sunday :(:(
We are near the I 81 corridor that is suppose to get the high winds and are we. Don't think our eagles are getting them; they are located more off the path. Happy for that ( :
HI Paula and Mits. Mits I seen Tai is inside with Mei.
My Lisa is still teaching us that gal is something. I love the time of the small hole in egg until the time it fights its way out wow not a short time. She has the most interesting information. Doesn't she?
It might be very windy at BW osprey nest looks like sticks are blowing out of nest.
EGG TURNING OUR NEST.
Dana, storms just went by Cambridge.
Did they ty Mits....I'm trying to watch the sticks in our nest to see if it is windy down there. I think they are out of the path of this. I hope.
Mits do you hear the dog in Maine?
West End has an egg it is dark is that the wooden egg?
Dana, not sure what you are seeing, their egg is white, and it was just laid the other day, I'm sure they will wait a few days to see if anymore are laid before they retrieve them, Paula is the expert on this site:):).
Some new pix from this past weekend:http://www.pbase.com/cp8800/bw2daysBob
No, Dana, didn't hear the dogs, been doing chores around the house.
No, Dana. That is a real egg for now at WE nest...they have not switched them yet. They will wait a few more days to see if they get more eggs, then they will switch them. This is currently the only nest on Catalina w/ eggs.
Thank you Bob. We love your pictures.
BOB, WHAT A TREAT, A REAL CELEBRETY STOPPING BY, YOU ARE THE BEST:):):)!
Bob,Your pics are awesome as usual! Is that the eagles nest that is on the cam? Nice shots of the juvie eagle. He looks like he is only a year old. The heron pics are wonderful, too. Love those great blues.
Breathtaking pictures, Bob, Thanks.
I have returned and thanks for the new thread and for keeping OUR cam up & running. It was very windy when I drove home from Hagerstown. Now, before I make any comments I wish to go over and see BOB QUINN's photos.Do you think he would like to take a trip to WV???? I wish!
No, that nest is is just off the wildlife drive past the blind not too far from the entrance. I had never noticed it before. I was walking down the road on Sunday and heard an eagle squawking. Through the trees I saw two mature eagles in the nest. Eventually one flew off and later I saw one on a branch close by and one in the nest. I figured this must be an active nest and did not want to linger too long and disturb them. On Monday I went by and there was an immature eagle in the nest who flew off shortly after my arrival. I did not see another eagle near the nest after that so it actually must be inactive.Bob
WInd is really gusting here, so it might be at the nest also.
The photos from BlackWater that Bob Quinn has in this album are to say the least - Breath Taking!!! Makes you feel like you're looking up to the sky and that they are right there for you. Loved the juvie pics and the duo soaring high!
Megan, are you still here? Banana for birds..sliced or not sliced...peeled are not peeled???? I have 3, that I think could walk out the door under their own power.
Just checked out NE cam - Man! They have much prettier lines when their cam is down then we do..........lolThey had said that the weather plays havoc with their cam........
Sorry, had to run to the bus stop. Bananas- peels, or overripe bananas. Usually split mine open so the mockingbird can get to the inside of the peel or banana, which is what he eats.
I was watching also, Jo, it looked pretty windy there. Things were flying by the nest.
Thanks, Megan, headed to the backyard:).
No problem, off to find some places in the yard where I can put out seed and not have it blow away. Later...
SNOWING AT NE.
Black bird at TH.
BOTH EAGLES AT MAINE...VERY VOCAL.
male just brought in some pine for the nest at MAINE, female protested, it disturbed her eating.
Been looking at cams that I have up while I was vacuuming my room.Maine eagles I heard as I stopped the shower. Sounded so beautiful.Came and looked both in nest eating. One up on limb for awhile then back down into the nest with the other eagle.Yes Mits they are very vocal and I LOVE IT..Going to check out Bob Quinn
Ok I have looked at all before that Lisa updated. Where am I missing the Bob Quinn Album?????
Dad just brought in more branches to MAINE.
Our eagle looks like it wants a break.

So noone worries like Mits & I did, Norma is OK. She should be back on blog within day or two.
We are like Mother hens looking for the chicks, Jo. My husband and son, say they never worry, because I do all the worrying.
Thanks for putting the pics there.

ROFLMBO....JO...ITS GREY'S ANATOMY...NOT GRAVES, ALTOUGH IF MEREDITH DOES NOT PULL THRU??????? THEY MIGHT JUST CHANGE THE NAME:):):)
I can't believe they will kill her off, I haven't heard any contract disputers or anything like that about her.
Glad I gave you a laugh - you can tell I don't watch the show.. lol
I thought you watched it???
No - don't have many TV shows that I watch on a regular basis...... Paula watches it I think & ER
Mits - I'm taking a break.... I will come back later.... Holler if you need me...........
Okie-Dokie, going to do some more laundry, so I'll be in and out.
Eagle in CO
Evening, all!Thank you, Bob, for your explanation on the eagles nest. I believe that Suz and I got to see that nest when were down for the Open house last fall. We tried to take a picture of it and put it in the album on the momsters group. I like Your picture much better! :)Megan - That's cool. I thought they just liked the peels.Belle looks like she is getting some rest :)
MIts, I don't think she is dead! What the heck happened? I must have missed the part where they said what happened to her to put her in that condition.
She fell in the river, Paula. And was there for some time, her body temp was in the 80's. The repeat of last weeks show is on now.
How did she fall in the river...Wray at WE...sunset starting to look pretty....
Mits, I think Grey's is also on on Friday night...repeat of Thursday
I was just looking at that site, so pretty with the sun going down, still only 1 egg??? She was tending to a patient at the ferry boat accident and got accidentally knocked into the water, and some little girl in shock pointed to the water, and Derrick went in and got her, and, she looked liked death warmed over when he pulled her out...good makeup job.
Yes, it is, but I always forget that it is on.
I would have watched it last Friday, but had Cohen here. We watched "Meerkat Manor". He calls them "dogums", his word for dog. LOL.
Yup, still only one egg at WE nest.
How cute, dogums:):).There is a cute movie on Animal Planet now called "The Retrievers". About a family with Golden's, but got to watch Grey's and see what happens. 2Ealgles at WE now.
Spell checker is going to get me on that one....Eagles.
Look at that sun at WE:).
Belle now facing about 5:33 o'clock :)
OK, this show is going to be weird.
Just popping in - 2 Eagles out on the limb at KENT - Beautiful pic.
NOw, I want to see the retreivers show , too!
Awww, they got my goldens on there...looks like a movie...maybe I can catch it at another time!
I LOVE GOLDENS......
Going to call it a day..Good Night EveryonePleasant dreams & peaceful sleepPrayers going up for allGood Morning Suzannebet you're saying TGIF
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE I looked in on Belle an hour ago, and, she is in the same position:(.
OK, just checked again, and she is in a different position...so, cam is updating.:)
GOOD EAGLE MORNING, ALL!!! OUR CAM IS UP. That is just soooo cool! To logon in the AM and see our nest. Somebody is sleeping, can't see who. Lord BW is also sound asleep. His feathers are blowing though, so it's windy. Lisa has an update on both cams, with awesome pics by Bob Quinn!Coming down was a challenge this mornning, it is EXTREMELY windy! Had to dodge limbs and branches, black ice, and of course the almost always present huge trash containers in the middle of the street blowing around. Be careful. Had to drive part way down on the left side of the road, right side was solid black ice. Felt like I was back in the UK. Sure glad I didn't see much traffic!May try to read the blogs if I have time. All have a great eagle day. OH, I saw my first Robin yesterday, here at work, around 11. We were outside and he came flying by from 1 tree to another, then just sat and looked at us (and we were looking at him). Forgot to tell you yesterday! But Mits, means Spring is a'coming! I'm thrilled!!! And Jo, YUP, TGIF for sure!!! Even came in early so I could leave early!Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly! It is SOOO NICE to see our nest! I'm just thrilled to pieces.
Lord BW is waking up, but ours is still sound asleep, head under wing. Lord BW is gonna look around for a while.
Lord BW turning eggs, and whoever is in our nest is awake.
Looks like Lord BW had a bite. Wonder if they have bugs in that nest. They both scratch and Lady BW brought in some new pine yesterday. Sure hope they don't, specially now that the little ones aren't that far away. Whoever is in our nest has switched positions. Now facing 3 o'clock and not 12. It'll be better when the sun comes up, still hazy through the whatever is on the cam. But not hazy enough that you can't see through it!
Just did an email, and was watching who I think may be Belle, and she moved. Oh, got a bit lighter on the pic. Lord BW is still awake, but head down. Think he's trying to go back to sleep. Who can blame him???
Oh, Lord BW is either scratching another bite, or he's going to put head under wing and go back to sleep for real. Nope, it's a bite.
Looks like Lord BW is squaking at something. Maybe he's calling Lady BW to come and take over. He's still on the eggs, though. I'm thinking that is Belle in our nest, but she's only moving her head. Think you can see an eye now, not real sure. Yup, eye and beak, she's looking sorta at 4 o'clock. Lord BW is stretching to look at something.
Well, I don't know if she's moving her head, or if those guess spider web leftovers are moving. Never mind, she's up. Guess it's egg turning time.
Back down, facing 5 again now. Looking at the cam, you can see her glowing eyes! Cool.
She's looking at the cam again. I waived to her! Eyes glow in the light, eerie looking, but she is such a beautiful baby! Sending pics around.
Egg turning time. Oh, back to glowing eyes.
BW egg turning time.
Now that the eggs are turned in BW, I'm thinking that's Lady BW, and not Lord BW. There hasn't been a switch since I've been watching. She sure had her tail feathers close together like he does, though. Oh, I'M SO CONFUSED....
Getting daylight out. Doesn't look like any snow left in the nest at all. Both are looking around (BW, ours). So nice to see.
Lady BW turning eggs.
Uh oh, snow's really glaring on our cam now. Didn't want to refresh, went to black screen, but then came back.
Haven't read the blogs, but was glancing to see if Floralgirl answered our questions about bananas from yesterday. Mine are no longer fit for human consumption! And she did! Thanks, Megan. I will now take my 3 bananas and split them, and try to find a place to put them. I had a mockingbird in the fall, but I haven't seen him since. But maybe some of the other birds might like bananas. They sure like bread, specially the Mourning Doves! And I had the fattest little sparrow yesterday! Got right in the feeder, just steady eating! I've never seen one so chubby. He was a cutie pie, though. And did I see right, Bob Quinn, BW photographer stopped by? How cool is that! LOVE the photos on ALL his albums. Loved the slide show!!
Ok, that is definately Lady BW in the nest. She sure had me fooled this morning thinking it was her hubby.I still think that is Belle in our nest, but I haven't seen them often enough since they enlarged the nest to know who is who unless they're both there. Don't know who sits how on the nest, and the amount of space they take, or what their wing feathers look like while sitting. I'll get it after a couple days.
Well, I was just checking in to see if you found my answer, Suzanne..and you did. Mockingbird will eat banana, apples and oranges, The insides of all these fruits, and will also peck at the inside of the banana peel. My Carolina wrens love to eat raisins. Of course if you're lucky enough to get an oriole in your yard, they also love oranges. Usually see them in my yard in the early spring, but they don't hang around. I think robins would probably eat fruit, too, when it's cold and hard to get bugs or worms.
Thanks, Megan. I saw the mockingbird last fall, but haven't seen him since. Maybe he's still in the neighborhood. Sorry to say I have never seen an Oriole, but sure would like to! Saw my first robin yesterday here at work, but none at my house yet. Maybe soon. But I will split my 'nanners and put them out by the feeders this afternoon. I have 3, should I put 1 in a feeder? I have mostly tray feeders, and lots of tubes, but don't think the bananas will fit in a tube! Or on the ground?
Forgot to tell you, I saw a robin last year eating out of the tray feeders! I had never seen that, I didn't think they ate seeds. He ate out of one a couple days, but then he was eating seeds on the ground, then he moved out to the yard looking for bugs. Guess when they're hungry, they'll eat anything.
Phew, cam didn't want to refresh. Showed half a screen, then the dreaded blue and green, now it's getting fuzzy, or very fine lines. Uh Oh, Steve and crew, please help! It's just so nice to see our nest. There goes the blue line right through the middle of the screen. Sigh..........
Almost didn't get a pic that time. Had to keep refreshing!
Good Windy Morning Suzanne ( :
Suzanne the pine is suppose to help with insects and things not to develope in nest. One site said that for eagles.Although when I was watching the Per. Falcons in Harrisburg. When they took the chicks out to band them. They spray through saying due to lice, and bugs.
Good morning, Dana! How ya doing?Cam seems to be updating just fine, now. Got nervous for a few minutes there, but it's working just fine.
I always put my bananas on the ground. Last week I saw a flicker eating seeds from my feeder. Birds will eat what they can when the weather gets this cold and they can't get to their usual food sources.
I remember reading that, Dana. Think that's why she brought in another branch yesterday. But she was scratching this morning. She pulled a couple feathers out yesterday morning, so something was driving her nuts. Didn't know they sprayed in Harrisburg, didn't get to see the banding last year. Looked at that cam yesterday, and there was a bird on the ledge up by the pole, but it was still fairly dark so don't know what kind of bird it was.
I'm sure the high winds are messing with the cam a little. We have had gusts of up to 45 mph here last night and this morning.
Ok, thanks, Megan. I will put them on the ground. Something will eat them, I'm sure. Just hope it's the birds and not the skunk(s)!
Oh, of course. Lisa has a note on her site, don't know why I didn't think of that. Winds are terrible this morning.
Good Morning everyone. This is in fact a beautiufl way to start a new day. Hoping your day is beautiufl all the way thru. Off to coffee and dog treats, and then comfort food for the next winter storm this weekend ..
Morning Megan and Glo ... egg turning in our nest just a minute ago and now doing it again hummmmm.Yes Suzanne we are having extremely high winds. Our nest might be too.
Sorry, DAna, hello! Wasn't ignoring you, just having one of those days...weeks...months...years... LOL!

Lady BW is really fluffing to keep warm! Puffy little girl.
Thanks, Dana. Gotta go, things to do. Have a great weekend Suzanne!
You do the same, Megan! I'll let you know if I see anyone eating the bananas! Thanks again.
