At Maine the one in nest eating. The other was calling alot just flew into nest to eat. One that was there eating flew off.
Boy that one eating now sure was squawking about the other one having a meal. Wasn't it?
Oh I didn't notice that the one that flew off tried to take some of the meal with it. Did you see the one in the nest after eating from the center. Go over to edge and get what I believe the one fleeing must have dropped. When flew out of nest.

Thanks for the new thread! Hello everyone:) I am crawling in to say hello. My internet connection is not working right...slooow. Should be 56kbps, it's only 26.4kbps... Hard to open most web sites. Trying to get phone company here to look at line, they were here in Dec. and said it was fine, but Yahoo says it's not their fault, so I gotta get the line checked again. You can't even imagine how slow this is....dial up speed cut in half .. Any news on Sandra? Adios...until I can post again. I'm usually ok until about 200 posts...sometimes...

I've watched this cam for about a year. I check it every morning. I read this blog as time permits.
The Alaska eagles got so bogged down with slime they couldn't clean themselves and many of them froze to death.

Wow Grannyblt I read the article that Deb put the link too. It seems 50 eagles flew to the truck and 20 was killed in the mass flying to truck. Other as you say about 30 got their feathers so slimmy with fish guts. They couldn't fly. Wow !!

GRANNYBLT---Most of us did the same thing----I watched from the very beginning---but after the 1st eaglets were hatched----they (the blog folks) were going to name the 3 eaglets---I had a name!---so ventured on---they didn't like my name! ho!----But I have met some of the nicest--if not the nicest---people in the world!!---So WELCOME!!
Now we just had a fly in and both are in our nest!!!!

I've been a birdwatcher for years, but you all have gotten me very interested in eagles, ospreys, and isn't that zoo with all that info great?

I was able to speak by phone with Tom and get an update on our
friend Sandra Osbourn. Sandra is still in the hospital and is receiving therapy four times daily. She is improving greatly - she is now able to squeeze with her left hand - she can take 28 steps - she can slide her left arm back & forth. Her ability to focus with her eyes is improving but it is very tiring for her by the end of the day. She is such an avid reader.
This is the 21st day of Sandra being in the hospital and Tom feels it will be a few more weeks until she would be released to come home.

The moose on the cam now is known as Bull #4 - This new bull is distinguishable this winter because his antlers are asymmetrical. The other moose that seems to be staying around is the cow (I think) I don't think it is Scarface without his antlers. Maybe Pook will be able to tell us. I saw Sidekick out with the moose earlier this afternoon.
Now that looked like a feeding at Tesoro!

I'm not sure but it does look like the moose lieing in the snow. Has one set of antlers and it's on its right side.
Yes I agree she ate mostly herself/hisself but a few times she feed (excuse me) gut parts.
Now moose turned head think there are a set of antlers on both side. Maybe he will get up then I'll know for sure lol

You all got to see another nest visit this am and feedings at various nest. I never thought I was going to get home to get back on watch.
DANA you asked earlier how I made the pics smaller to get them all on the screen. You had it right, you use your curser to make the site smaller and then the blue bars )hroizontal and vertical) to get the pic in the right spot. It is great! Sometimes I put one on top of another and just keep miving it back and forth by putting the curser on the dark blue at the top. I was saying this morning that if we get many more eagle nests, we would need a wiiiddddeeerr screen to watch them all. :)

Glad to hear that Jo finally got a hold of Sandra's husband to get an update on her. Sounds like she is hanging in there, working hard and is getting better and better. That is real good news.

It would be nice to have a bigger screen. I just hate to spend the money or even ask for it for a present.
DANA Same here. My son got a much bigger and better screen with a new computer and it costs. I should be happy that at least I have a computer with a screen that works and is on fast speed.
Just checked the Maine, bwo and bwe, norfolk, Pa.cam and nothing is going on. All MT. It looks as if the CC1 and 2 and Tesoro are just relaxing and our nest is MT. Still 2 moose on that cam. One is now laying down after eating out of the crib.
It is 57' here now and was sunny, but the dark clouds are starting to come back over us here. It looked like snow up your way for overnight tonight and into tomorrow, or have they changed that.
I want to go to my son's for this next weekend in Winchester, but am afraid of getting stuck driving in the snow. I have had 40 years of driving in snow and hate it/
GOOD AFTERNOON...
I didn't see them coming, but the Santa Ana winds have struck again! It's 77 and dry and windy, coming from the desert, up from 58 and cloudy yesterday! It's called "SINUS ATTACK" coming and going.
Gave all the plants extra water and Miracle Grow last night by luck, and I changed the Hummingbird feeder... they seem overjoyed this morning, I don't know what was wrong with the last batch.
ZZ was squirming around, but she's found another comfortable spot and is back asleep in the tree.
Two Moose feeding at the moment.
Hummingbird is on the nest ... looking alarmed at something below at times.
It's half time in the Colts-Chargers game...they look pretty even so far, Colts lead 10-7.

I spent the day yesterday Checking out the tow Nestshere in The Central Ohio Area that Ive been watching in perosn, the birds are very very active. Good to see here that they seem to be gearing up also for some egg laying. What and Awesome thing! Snows a Coming! Baton down the Hatches!

I got a call from Karla (Butterfly Mama), and she said that during the last visit of L&B, she refreshed twice inbetween Belle yelling at Lib and them putting their heads into the egg cup. She saw them doing the Hanky Panky. Looks like we all missed that. They are getting a lot of practice.

The night light at BW has been on for awhile yet...they have lots of shade at their nest.
Our night light is just becoming visible now....the one nice thing about the sycamore is the lack of leaves at this point allows for more daylight to view the nest....
