Good morning, Norma, Jo, and Candy! I forgot you had to return to school already, Candy. Was wondering where you were this morning. DUH me! Norma, I hear your team won! Congrats on a good game for them! Jo, thanks for all you do keeping us updated on Sandra. I've joined your power prayer at noon. Hope she gets well quickly and completely!
I see the top of the EAGLE'S head at the TEROSO nest!!!----Those eggs should hatch within the next 6 days!!----Can't wait!!---Don't know how we could ever see them!!!
Morning, Sharon. Norma, I saw Precious and Bai about an hour ago playing tug-o-war with a piece of bamboo. In fact, if you look, you can still see it on the floor. Squigs lost that one, so she walked out the door you see at the top of the cam. The bamboo is that long piece laying inside right of the door. Squigs has been outside ever since.
ATLANTA CAM is showing the usual!!-----'LITTLE BEAUTY' asleep atop the tripod!!----Want to watch her explore & move around!!---All that must happen before 10:00 a.m.---ho!
MORNIN' BLUEFIELD SHARON!!---I wrote earlier that when I saw the EAGLE---I knew that was a good sign!!----Wasn't it GREAT to make those announcers eat their words!!! Kept saying WV was out classed!!!! ----WHITE is so COOL!!---
Good morning; I started a new blog. Indiana nesting eagles 2008 It will have photos taken this year of the eagles here in vigo co. indiana.I put two photos of the nest. The adults have added to it. I hope the photos came out ok,let me know.
Normabyrd, did you see Owen Schmitt crying on the interview? I thought that was so cool! Andrew got a mohawk like his last month but had to get rid of it for the East River Mountain Town Band concert.
YEAH SHARON!!!---He says he doesn't want to leave WV!!---He really played a good game!!----It must be hard on these sports players to have to leave the team when they graduate!!----They have such a bond with the other players!!!
Norma-Defensive Player of the Game Reed Williams is from Moorefield. Way to go Reed. What a game. Hubby's friend is from OK. Told me a bunch of hillbillies couldn't beat the likes of OU. Pretty sure we kicked butt. LOL BWW was WILD. And somewhere in the midst of the crowded of blue and gold was one OU Fan. Think he got off the bus at the wrong stop. LOL
WANDA---Did you tell the BLOG that when I was in Shepherdstown to see my "beautiful" grand-kids---That we bumped into each other at the video store!!---CARM--(grandson)- --was QUITE impressed by meeting CAPT. EAGLE!! ho!---It was nice seeing you all!!
Yes I did, Norma. They were BEAUTIFUL children. It was really special to see you and Lisa. Glad Carm was impressed with Capt Eagle; most kids are... (He is wonderful with children).
JILL----That was AWESOME!!!----No one thought WV had a chance against OKLAHOMA!!!!----VICTORY WAS SWEET!!----I can't remember our old coach's name!!----ho!--Now it's COACH STEWART!!!---Players love him!!!!----I think I heard the EAGLE was wanting WVU to win!!----ho!!!---I have to stop this stuff!!---I think it's because I didn't get must sleep!!!
SUZANNE----Forgive us WV people!!! ho!-----WV takes FOOTBALL seriously!!!----We will all be sane tomorrow!!----You can join us if you like!!!---ho!---I know you like the TERPS!!
Our local boy and two others were here over Christmas for the day. They said heck with Rodriquez we have a bowl game to win. And that appeared to be the attitude last night. I think White said it all "Stewart should be our coach" I look for an announcement Monday.
SUZ...Safe trip home. Have to get ready to take Mom for her Treatment tody. After a year of pain, this is her last hope. Please throw in a little prayer for her after Sandra's Power Prayer today.
You WV folks remind me of Indiana Hoosiers during basketball season! No worries, I'll just listen tomorrow, but glad you all had a good game. I like the Terps because that's my alma mater! UMD grad. But gotta admit, don't follow them either.
PANDA ALERT. Squigs is climbing!!! She's adorable.
Uh oh, she either got down very fast, or fell! Oh, musta fell, but she's only about 2' off the ground. But there she goes back up. Man, she's gonna take a big panda nap later! She's really working on this.
Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle/panda day. Squiggles is still trying to climb, but she's slowing down. Getting sleepy. Looks like she's getting ready to take a nap now. She made it up top again, such a cutie! Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
MORNIN' PAULA!!---WELCOME BACK JIM!!---Sorry Jim--I never know if you are getting up or going back to bed!!----SO---I'll just say MORNIN' every time you come back on the BLOG!!!--ho!
JIM Would you have any idea why my sister-in-law would be on Pete's Pond and everything is showing in 10 seconds. Birds walk then stop 10 seconds then start walking again. Same with water moving. ????
Arnt they lovely Dana, I can't get enough of them, they are so reagal, and as for those babies,,, well,,, so very naughty, I wouldnt like to be their mum, I think smack on the bottom with a long trunk comes to mind here.
I'm ok thanks pet how are you getting on now girl, better I hope,,
All I seem to have done is panda sit for a long time, what with Betty Boop in San Diego and Princess at Atlanta, and ofcourse I can't forget our very own little bundle of joy Gobbo at Washington,, and then now and again I pop over to Memphis, but most of all I love my darling girl Mei Xiang, she is so special, one of a kind, I know Bai is a brilliant mother but it's Mei for me all the time.
Dana, I think your sister would be better off contacting Verizon. There are too many factors involved to assess it here ... age and features of her computer, amount of RAM, etc., etc. Also, it could just be something temporarily wrong with her line.
JIm what I am trying is I sent her the Africam link and ask her to watch when daylight. See if there is a 10 second delay. If not I am thinking it is her realplayer which is what run Pete's Pond.
I will when they come on to blog pet, but thats on MSN, I have enough trouble copeing with one page let alone two, and they dont all arrive till 7pm after dinner is all done and over with.
AND I havn't even eaten yet myself, so I better go and grab a bite to eat before my computer starts to go ping for the start of MSN !!!
I missed your comment pet, please forgive my bad manners pet.
I thought the same thing,,, but I think they were playing too, they only looked like young boys to me, but I did wonder about the walking backwards thing !!!
BUT I can't watch for too long with those insects flying past the camera, makes me go crosseyed.
So I go back to my beloved Pandas,,,,,,
Been some lovley play tonight..
Mei up her tree playing upside down, and the son an heir running up and down his tree with his new ball strap,, and little ZZ playing with Bai and jumpping up and down off her big blue cotton reel.. Aint life grand.
Jo, - I was just looking at that...I thought it was sunlight at first also...looks like more to me than sunlight - sun was hitting the back of the eagle in the pic I have....
dOh BTW I want you people to keep your cold air up there in the north. :) It was in the 20's here today with a good stiff wind blowing. We were told not to go outside for recess with the kids.
Some people said they even saw snow flurries, although I was too busy in class to look out now and again. We did have some black looking clouds in the sky that looked like snow clouds.
ZZ was under something and must have been yelling for Mom. Bai came pulled her out and left her upside down on her back. Now she just came back to her.
Thank goodness it isn't just me! Not sure when it went down - I tried about an hour ago when I got home... Guess we'll have to look at the moose and the deer. Dave has some new photos - just click on his name from today... I am just now going into look at them.
There are also some pics from today's visits on the Momster site.....
I saw the pics from today's visit and just found one new pic at Dave's, did I miss some? I went to Fort Randall dam today and got some pictures, but I am just working on them now. I finally got some halfway decent pheasant pictures, I hope.
Jo, I am going to send a picture through momsters. Tell me what you think, I can't decide if it is just the way the sun is hitting the eagle or if it's feathers are really that reddish, golden.
I just looked at your pic, Deb - I was away from the computer.... I had just never seen any juvie other then darkish brown. I was also thinking that maybe it was a golden eagle but didn't take time to look them up. Whatever - he is beautiful!
Ho Ho! He was getting his talons into a little bit of everything! Glad you had a good day & will look forward to some more clips!
I don't think those deer ever stop eating... Must be corn or some kind of feed right there in front of the cam. I thought we might see the young buck from last evening returning.
I couldn't get onto the blog through beakspeak.com or through direct links I made this year, but the old reliable that I made to the blog last year came right through.
I see that Santa Cruz had nearly a full day of the male, K-10, rebuilding the nest ... guess he read the weather report suggesting that we are in for 5-6 days of rain here, and he's trying to get some building in ahead of the storms.
Pete's Pond is mostly a new bloom of yellow flowers over the land and swallows hunting flying insects. There was a shot of a small heron (Green Heron, I think) frozen in place peering into the shallows for a looooonnng time.
The Panda cam in SD is on the ante room, which is lined with bamboo now, but both mother and daughter are in the den ... ZZ did struggle out to the camera view briefly then crawled back.
Good cold Friday morning, world! Bitter out, 14° at my house, 20° here, but again, no wind, so that's a big help. We made it to Friday. Four day weeks always seem longer than 5-day weeks. Wonder why? Anyway, all have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly! Oh, Jim, saw 2 deer this morning, but far enough off the road didn't have to beep or flash my lights at them. Nice to know they're still out there somewhere! Besides at Megan's house, that is.
Bad news, the FWS sites are down, so that means unless it comes up before our eagles drop by, we won't get to see them this morning! That's a bummer on a Friday morning! It's not local, it's the entire FWS. Error message is their servers may be down. And the SD cam is out in the hallway, which is covered in a bamboo carpet, but no pandas in sight. Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Good morning, Jim. Glad you're up, well, at least I have someone to talk to, but you need to get some sleep! I heard about the rains, our weather / news is saying that since the fires burned the trees, they're now worried about mud slides! Scary place to live if you ask me. RU going to be alright where you are?
Yes, Suz, I had to come to the blog directly using a bookmark I set up last year. Nothing else would load, but I received no messages at all.
Wonder what they might be up to ... sometimes they shut down networks for routine maintenance, and if that's what it is, it should be up again by morning.
Yeah, I also have 2 URLs, one for blogger, one for the cam. I hope that's all it is, but the gov't usually tries to do that on weekends when there is less traffic, or come to think of it, at night. Guess this is still night for normal folks! I tried our cam, then when it wouldn't load, I tried the fws.gov main page. That will give you a Network Error. Bummer.
We should be alright in this particular area, since we weren't affected by the fires, but a great many areas to the north, east and south of here are in danger of mud and debris slides, if not flash floods.
These storms will be moving east and probably picking up more steam, so all parts east of here could be affected next week.
Unreal, but glad you're going to be alright. Don't know if we're supposed to get rain next week or not. Do remember it's supposed to warm up a lot. Think by next Thursday, it's supposed to be 57 in our area. Do you believe that? Unreal! 57 in Januray. That's a tad warm for this time of year here!

Pete's is working continuously on mine, Dana... a thousand bats chasing a million flying insects.
Does your sister have a broadband (high speed) Inernet connection? A dial-up will cause the flow to stop.
Otherwise, she might restart her computer to refresh the RAM (Random Access Memory).

I just heated up vegetable soup that my sister made yesterday. It is absolutely scrumptious.
Eagle in our nest and something does not look just right?
Is anybody else watching?
I don't see white tail feathers.
IT's really windy here again, I think the wind is ruffling his feathers.
Megan, do you think that is one of ours?
Okay, now I think it is. Somebody else came and then left.
We think they're both ours.
I guess it is the wind like Megan suggests that makes the eagle look different..... Best keep watching.
Looks like it's cleaning up leftovers from earlier. Again, the wind is really gusting here.
Oh thank you Steven!!
I was going to say that whoever - they knew right where the leftovers
were!

Buta Buta laying on her back eating bamboo reminds me of when Tai does that.
EAGLE ALERT - CHRISSY COME BACK!
Eagle eating in our nest
Appears to be eating.
Well just who do you think it is???
What is the marking on the left wing?
Is it just sunlight shadow.....
And POOF again!
gone
POOF
That sure wasn't the norm place for take off...
Didn't see it, Mema Jo.
Jo, - I was just looking at that...I thought it was sunlight at first also...looks like more to me than sunlight - sun was hitting the back of the eagle in the pic I have....
Any thoughts, Steve?
I only have one pic - I sent it to Steven....eagle turned before I could get another one.
I only got a pic of the take off from the nest.. Didn't think to take one of him in the nest......
My pics are in the album......
Going to be meeting Germany Bound crew for dinner...... BBL
Oh yes,,,, Christine's exam shows a
new little gal will be coming into the family in May!
Congrats, JO
I wouldn't worry too much about the white patch. looks like a few feathers may be gone due to a scrap of a crash or something...
My typing is really bad... try again
I wouldn't worry too much about the white patch. looks like a few feathers may be gone due to a scrap or a crash or something...
Thank you Steve. We are worry-warts!
Thanks Steve! I had to come back to look for your comment ---- Out the door to dinner.........
Thanks, Steve. Appreciate you taking a look.
Look at the moosecam...cow up close
EAGLE ALERT - OUR NEST!
BOTH THERE NOW!
Eeagle Alert in our nest. Now 2
Wow this has been exciting. Glad Steven was here to help us out. Thank you Steven.
PAULA That sure is a closeup of the moose cow. Pa. has deer feeding on it's cam again.
dOh BTW I want you people to keep your cold air up there in the north. :) It was in the 20's here today with a good stiff wind blowing. We were told not to go outside for recess with the kids.
Some people said they even saw snow flurries, although I was too busy in class to look out now and again. We did have some black looking clouds in the sky that looked like snow clouds.
You can see ZZ nursing it is a close up of Bia and her.
ZZ was under something and must have been yelling for Mom. Bai came pulled her out and left her upside down on her back. Now she just came back to her.
Can anyone else get into the cam? I can't get it to open.
I think the one Dave posted was the Eagle's nest.. Don't think you missed any others.
Jo, I am going to send a picture through momsters. Tell me what you think, I can't decide if it is just the way the sun is hitting the eagle or if it's feathers are really that reddish, golden.
I can't get the cam page open either:(
I can't get our cam up now either. Earlier, I couldn't get into the blog to alert for the late visit.
Haven't looked at Dave's pics, either!
If you get a chance look at the email I sent. Is it a young bald eagle??
Deb - Looks like a Juvie to me...their feathers get bleached out by the sun...maybe 1-2 years old?
Dave - nice nest picture
Thanks for looking--I was hoping for a young golden eagle, but the pictures I looked up on the internet didn't look anything like this one.
I just looked at your pic, Deb - I was away from the computer....
I had just never seen any juvie other then darkish brown. I was also thinking that maybe it was a golden eagle but didn't take time to look them up. Whatever - he is beautiful!
Deer back at PA
I had a good day out watching eagles too. I am busy with pictures but caught a cute clip I wanted to share first thing.
"Hi" Drama
Ho Ho! He was getting his talons into a little bit of everything! Glad you had a good day & will look forward to some more clips!
I don't think those deer ever stop eating... Must be corn or some kind of feed right there in front of the cam. I thought we might see the young buck from last evening returning.
I am going to call it a day!
Good Night All
Peace to you & yours
Prayers being said for all needs
Well, Early Birds,
it is already Friday
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SLEEP TIGHT
Night, all.
Night, all. I gave up on the shivering snowman and put on an eagle picture.
Good evening...
Jim
GOOD NIGHT, EVERYONE/GOOD MORNING TO SUZANNE AND THE EARLY BIRDERS....
Is it Friday already?? You'll probably want to work Saturday and Sunday just to keep the momentum that you've built up going. [;=)}
Jim
Good cold Friday morning, world! Bitter out, 14° at my house, 20° here, but again, no wind, so that's a big help.
We made it to Friday. Four day weeks always seem longer than 5-day weeks. Wonder why? Anyway, all have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Oh, Jim, saw 2 deer this morning, but far enough off the road didn't have to beep or flash my lights at them. Nice to know they're still out there somewhere! Besides at Megan's house, that is.
GOOD MORNING, SUZ...
I didn't realize it was this late, but now that I do, I decided to say good TGIF morning to my friend.
I guess we are going to get some healthy rain in So Cal for a few days ... predicted to be the heaviest since Jan. 2005 ...
Great for most of us, but potentially another disaster in the areas of the recent fires.
I just looked outside, and it hasn't started yet.
Jim
Jim
Jim
Unreal, but glad you're going to be alright. Don't know if we're supposed to get rain next week or not. Do remember it's supposed to warm up a lot. Think by next Thursday, it's supposed to be 57 in our area. Do you believe that? Unreal! 57 in Januray. That's a tad warm for this time of year here!
I will be very grateful if the drought is broken and doubly grateful if we do not suffer a lot of slide damage.
We did have some lighter rains earlier, which probably helped a little with growing ground cover.
