Jey there ROBYN. Sure enough there was a lot of excitement at BWE nest awhile ago. We have just seen one egg int here now. Maybe the others would know more about it.
We are all hoping for another egg; time will tell. Jim told me last night that they shut down the camera at llpm. I'm wondering if they will keep it up and running now that we have an egg.
Candy - BWE cam goes down at 11 and then comes back on at 3am. Past seasons the cam kept that schedule of operation even when the eggs were first laid and even when we were waiting for the eggs to hatch!!
WELCOME BACK JO You have church finished and I have to get up tomorrow to go yet. :( Bird at BWE hasn't moved for awhile now. Was noticing that wings are apart again as it lays there.
I was looking at the Norfolk cam with their night lighting. If you enlarge the screen with a double click - you can see the nest much better. It is MT now.
Thanks Lisa M for the heads up on why the sest is off cam at night. That stands to reason. Maybe we'll have to send some Momsters down there with flashlights and a camcord to record what goes on at night. :):):):) I guess I can go to bed tonight and sleep. :) ((((Hugs))))) Candy
Lisa - you're going to be busy quite a while this evening answering all those great emails of congratulations on the 1st egg and sorting through all those pics that I just know were sent! It's a good feeling though, isn't it? ((hugs))
Looks like it is nap time at Blackwater, tired after a busy day! Thanks, Jo, for the update on Kent. At least we know they are both ok, now we just need them to start on the nest. I wonder if they will move the cam, if they build a new nest??
I have my double about the cams being moved BUT I won't stop hoping if in fact the nest moves that the Kent Cams will also move! April is when eggs appear out at Kent - there is still time!
I guess that Norfolk is going to be soon - maybe sooner then ours.... I (and you all too) need to start a cheat sheet with Egg laying days so then we'll know about when to expect hatchings!!
WV is playing basketball. Headed there. You all have a good and peaceful nights sleep. The BWE is.:) Tomorrow brings a new day with new happenings. GOOD NIGHT ALL.
I posted this all around but thought I best post on here also: Kent Nest & Eagles:
Re: Is This Spirit?????? HI Jo, this is a message I've been sending out. They're here and around. The nest is pretty bewildering to look at right now, squirrels dismantled it through the fall and this winter - not much there for them to work with but we'll see as time goes on. They've been roosting in a huge fir on the west side of our house at about 80-90' up and about the same distance from the nest tree base. Possibly start a new nest there? Hmm, won't know for a while. Their roosting there may only be for protection from the weather and as soon as it changes they'll start again?? I haven't had a chance to look at the forum yet, The pic you sent sort of looks like Spirit... but then again it could be Star too??? The cropping puts it way out of focus, too hard to tell.. Stay tuned! Thanks for writing! Loraine and Garry
Just got done watching the skating, such talent in such young skaters. The top two winners are too young to go to the World Ice Skating Championships. Night all, it was an exciting day to see my first eagle egg!!
AMEN, DEB. My first also. I saw Kent eggs just befor they hatched but not as they were being layed, like we saw today at BWE. I have been on this puter most of today and didn't get half of my work done, but it was worth it. I'll make it up later.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE SLEEP TIGHT Prayers for all and especially for JB
Sure has been busy at a few sites today. On the other hand, Beakspeak.com seems to be down this evening...get an immediate "could not connect" message whenever I attempt to.
Had to do a google for BW and then bookmark it. This one I found in bookmarks from last year.
GOOD MORNING EAGLE WORLD AND DANA I just got up a minute ago and wanted to see how poor Lady B was doing in her nest on this coooollllddddd night, too. She looks comfortable and has her head tucked in and is sleeping.
Our nest is MT. :(
Deer are grazing in Pa. It looks like it is flaking snow from time to time.
Pete's Pond has a flock of white ibis, egrets, herons or whatever by the water. They had better watch out for Mr. Fatty.
Checked Norfolk cam and their night vision isn't too good at all. Could only see parts of a tree in the distance. Maybe if they once pull in closer, it will show up the nest better.
Panda asleep in SD. Can't tell which one; mom or ZZ.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE.. I just woke up and Belle and Lib are both in the nest, so I don't know how long they have been there. BWE nest is empty with one little egg all alone. It's coooold.
OK, parent back at BWE. I would think it is entirely too cold for that egg to be uncovered for even a moment, but then I am new at this egg watch thingy. JMHO
Well, now that was a strange HP. It wasn't their usual pose. When they were finished, they beaked. Now how romantic was that? I think Belle is "with egg now". LOL
Morning all. I finally got the Norfolk cam up. Beautiful location and both eagles eventually came to pose for me. I seem to miss our eagles every time I check this am. I sure hope Belle is "with egg". PA cam has deer practically in my face. The weather there is just like the view out my window.
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!!---HELLO GRANNYBLT!!---I looked in earlier & was greeted by one of our EAGLES!!!!---Now that is a wonderful way to start the day!!---CONGRATS!--BWE!!--You have an "EGG"---Thanks for the photo LISA!!---LIFE IS GOOD!!-- It's a COLD grey day here in WV--spitting snow!---temp. 27°---GRANNY--I checked PA--saw your snow!---but not too much??---HEY!---Let's ENJOY THIS GLORIOUS DAY!!!
DANA---I saw the POLAR BEAR SWIMMERS on two news programs last night!!!----Did you get to see them!!-----Bet they were FREEZING!!!---HELEN & family must be so proud!----They raised a million or more DOLLARS!!----
It is so beautiful there--my favorite cam for the scenery. I hope they have a better nesting season this year. If you remember they had a chick hatch just a few days before a really bad storm. the eaglet didn't survive.
Hey Gang! I was on a geocaching site last night, and read the news of the BWE egg! I popped in over here, but it looked like everyone had gone to bed. Hope to do some chatting and eagle-watching today.

Thanks, Steven, for the new thread. I will let everyone know.
A BIG THANK YOU Steve for the new thread and Deb for letting us know about it.
THANK YOU STEVE, THOUGHT YOU FORGOT US. We have an egg at Blackwater, just in case no one has told you.
Hi CANDY, where did Deb get to?
Thanks, Steve - we appreciate it!
In case you missed it on the other thread, read more about the Kodiak eagles here
Birdcenter Blog
I won't be here too much longer...gotta eat...and stuff!
Paula That was a very good article on the Kodiak eagles. Thanks for sharing.
Eagle on BW nest has wings apart again. Do you suppose that there will be another egg layed tonight or will it wait a day or two?
Good evening Deb, Candy, Wanda and Paula...
Mom called nd said there was an egg at BW.
So I thought I would pop in and say Hello :)

Hi Steve "Late" is just fine! I wanted to be #13

That is a bummer Jo. You'd think they would keep them open in case something tramspired during the night.
Oh well, at least we know there has been one egg layed today. That is great!!
Mama hummer has been feeding her babies off and on. I haven't seen anything at our nest or at the Pa site; no deer,no cats, orno anything.
So I think I will take this time to go get my hair washed and shower to get ready for tomorrow. BB
I did think to email Steve before I went to Mass about the egg and about the picture on the blog at Paula's name.
Candy - could be tomorrow or even another 2 days before egg #2 is laid.
Lisa placed another pic of the 1st egg on the BWE page.
I was looking at the Norfolk cam with their night lighting. If you enlarge the screen with a double click - you can see the nest much better. It is MT now.
Hi guys,
Eggs are normally laid 2-3 days apart.
And we have to turn the cam off at night, or will we exceed the bandwidth limit on our satellite dish account. If we do that, they turn us off.
Sorry that was supposed to be "we will"
Thanks Lisa M for the heads up on why the sest is off cam at night. That stands to reason. Maybe we'll have to send some Momsters down there with flashlights and a camcord to record what goes on at night. :):):):) I guess I can go to bed tonight and sleep. :) ((((Hugs))))) Candy

Yes, after the disappointment of our osprey season last year, it's great to have this kind of work.
And these parents are rock solid. As long as the egg is fertile, I think we'll be in store for at least one chick, probably two.
Looks like it is nap time at Blackwater, tired after a busy day! Thanks, Jo, for the update on Kent. At least we know they are both ok, now we just need them to start on the nest. I wonder if they will move the cam, if they build a new nest??

Well at times I wish I had a
DOUBLE
But it is really my
DOUBTS............ lol
I was reading and a nest can be built in a couple of weeks, if necessary. Most take 2-3 months.
Deb The Kent egg hatched on April 30th last year.... So that means they were laid Feb/Mar........
I am headed in for some short TV programs.......
BBL
Awww Lady BW is sleeping...
Looks like Lady Blackwater is nestled in for the night!

Wow it has really been an exciting day. Just relaxed and watched. Thank all for their comments.
Calling it a day! Busy day to say the least!
I get excited about the eagles but I also get excited seeing our new watchers enjoying all these wonderful happenings!
Peace to You & Yours

Don't forget to light a candle for Sandy when you get a chance.
Jim
I woke and checked on Lady B. she is nested "snug as a rug" over her egg.
Thanks Jim a lot need to go in and light a candle for Sandra.
Good Morning early Watchers and those coming in. Back to sleep for me.
GOOD MORNING EAGLE WORLD AND DANA I just got up a minute ago and wanted to see how poor Lady B was doing in her nest on this coooollllddddd night, too. She looks comfortable and has her head tucked in and is sleeping.

I'm with DANA. I'm going to try and get back to sleep as I have church this am. All have a super day.
JMHO
L & B are just sitting on left side of nest looking around. No nestorations or HP, but there was a little beaking.
Well, now that was a strange HP. It wasn't their usual pose. When they were finished, they beaked. Now how romantic was that? I think Belle is "with egg now". LOL
OK, Lib's done...he's gone. Belle looking like "was it something I said".
Both back in nest.
Belle just took off and Lib is still in the bedroom.
Lib's still in egg cup, looking and hoping Belle will come back with breakfast.
He's looking up in the tree now; maybe Belle is perched up there.
Lib just left the building. MT nest for now.
Morning all. I finally got the Norfolk cam up. Beautiful location and both eagles eventually came to pose for me.
I seem to miss our eagles every time I check this am. I sure hope Belle is "with egg". PA cam has deer practically in my face. The weather there is just like the view out my window.
