Good morning all. Looks like everyone has already been enjoying lots of eagle action. Great way to start the day for sure.
Time for me to get dressed and head on over to the neighbors. Don't know what I would do without this start to my day. Special people to start the day and feathered friends all around. How lucky am I. OOOOps me and pooches will need an umbrella today, no bother I can handle that. More pennies from heaven. Have a good one.
Last year laying 1st was between CC and Teroso 2nd was BWE laid in late Jan 3rdwas Norfolk late Jan earlier Feb 4th was our nest around Valentines day 5th was NE Conn early March also same time for Fort St. Vain 6th was Santa Cruz early March and Maine also 7th Sidney BC middle of March 8th Puget Sound laid late March 9th Kent laid in late March
I am sure there are some I don't have like Two Harbors and West End and others. This is just from my notes and JMO. (:
The 'LITTLE PRINCE' is all tired out!! ho!-----Eating all that bamboo just wore the little thing out!!----The LITTLE IMP is sound asleep----near his grate!!
I don't know, Norma. Probably not is my guess. Thanks for the heads up about the divers, saw the last of them coming down. Bai is just pacing! I have no idea where Zhen Zhen is! Bai was carrying her around from den to den in her mouth earlier.
Norma, there was some of that bamboo on the floor first thing this morning, but most of it right in front of the door came from a HUGE bunch Bai tried to fit through that small door! The bundle was too large, and it broke apart. That's where all that mess came from. She was determined she was gonna get the whole forest in there at one time!
SUZANNE----Is that the long brown & tan FISH!!----That FISH is huge & stays in front of window---which makes it look larger!!----Also notice some of these divers are coming straight down----our old ones swam toward us!!---right up to the window!---These don't!!
MORNIN' INDIANA NESTING EAGLE---DAVE!!----We have been having very warm temps too!!---Yesterday in the 70s---& expecting the same today!!---ENJOY THIS GLORIOUS WEATHER!!!!
Morning, Dave. Think we're supposed to get rain tomorrow. Supposed to be warm again today. Norma, yeah, that's the one. He even gets his eye right up to the lens, wierd looking when he does that. I haven't seen Squiggles for hours, I'm...never mind, she just peeked out from the den on the right. Phew, I was getting nervous!
Ok, now they both have treats, but still looks like Mei is drinking from a bottle the way she's holding her treats, and the shape of it. Think it's something that has honey on it. Ok, now they both look like they're holding their own bottles.
NEWS from ATLANTA-----MEI had her first BAMBOO POOP yesterday--ZOO states this is a very "important" step!!---She is eating mostly bamboo now---which will make it easier to wean!!!---They have pics of both LUN LUN & MEI----They look like they are almost the same size!!!!!
DARN' SUZ!!---Where are you watching PANDAS being fed!!---I got so excited---went on AFRICA CAM---but didn't see them---got mixed up & had to sign in again!! SIGNED:-----DESPERATE NORMA
They are relocating their nest at Norfolk. When I was in there earlier this morning. Cam will come on when they relocate it to new nest. Anything I missed?
Still would be nice to have sound and live feed at our nest. It looks like he is just sitting there. I am sure he is turning his head more than we can see with the refresh time.
MORNIN' JO & PAULA!!-----JO---If you had checked in most any time this a.m.----there would have been an EAGLE in the nest!!---I was greeted by BELLE--(i think)!!---ISN'T IT A NICE CUSTOM---Being greeted every a.m. by a member of the ROYAL COUPLE!!----WHOA!---LIFE IS GOOD!!
She sure is, Norma. She's down one tree, ran to the next and up it in no time at all! She sure has a lot of energy this morning! Oh, here she comes back down. Wonder where we're off to now?
Morning Jo and Paula! Mei is in a mood this morning!
It means keep an eye on it they are working on it.
Hopefully will be up and running very soon. Same url as last year if you used real Player or Windows Media Player. I never can get the other page to load in my computer at home .
Good Morning all. It is cool and cloudy here today, only 27. I wish we could get some of your warmth. The good thing about it being colder, the dogs don't sink into the snow anymore. It is hard enough for the to walk across the top!! You can always find a positive if you look hard enough. (HA)
Morning, Deb! Mei has a lot of energy this morning, running, climbing trees, swimming. Somebody finally gave her a carrot, so she's slowed down a tad! Hilarious to watch! Oh, I did go look at your 3 pics of the blond raptor. Beautiful pics! I still think it may be a Golden, but what do I know.
So far from experts, it is 2-2. How can we know when the experts can't agree? Whatever it is,I am lucky to have been able to see it and get a picture of it.
Oh switching out cam 1 with both Mei and Tian. They've both got treats, but in different containers. Tain is rolling his, Mei is laying on her back shaking them out in her mouth. Nice to see Tian for a change. Tai is running around...
LOL, you sure are, Deb. Guess if the experts can't agree, you can say it's whatever you want it to be! Tesoro eagle still standing doing something in the nest.
I am wondering if something is happening at the Tesora nest today. The eagle is sitting up higher in the nest and one of them brought in some fluff. The fluff didn't make the nest yet, it is hanging from the top of the branch outcrop on the left.
MORNIN' DEB!!---SORRY you aren't getting any of this warm weather---we broke a record yesterday---in the 70s!!---I am not a REDSKIN fan---but lots of the bloggers are!!---I have been a DALLAS fan too many years---I had read he might resign!!---We have seen our EAGLES in the nest---several times---this a.m.---THAT'S A GOOD THING!! ho!
I got on to see the end of the last visit, but have been doing laundry, etc, so just getting time to visit. It isn't so bad being in the 30's, much better than the single digits we were having. We can put away our heavy coats for awhile.
Dern...have a mandatory meeting that just came up. Goes till 12, so I'm gonna say have a good eagle/panda day. Blog tomorrow. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
DEB---I checked the OREGON cam yesterday!!!---It was beautiful---I bet the pine twigs had a couple of inches of SNOW!!---Couldn't guess how deep it was in the nest!!----Wouldn't open for me today!!!!
Just to add some more confusion to the eagle question, I sent the picture to the Minnesota Raptor Center and to the National Eagle Foundation. We will see if I get an answer. The National Wildlife Refuge here in SD hasn't bothered to answer me.
Deb - Here is the detailed response on your Picture that I submitted to the expert I was talking about. He said the bird was a "sub-adult"
A sub-adult is not a juvenile.
Juvenile Balds are almost dark brown/black on the top side of the contour and flight feathers. The same as when they fledge. Sub-adults can range from the juvenile coloration to varying degrees of tan especially the contours.
To me the photoed bird has a mix of tan on the contours and flight feathers. Goldens only have "golden" plumage on their "mane". The length of the bill and the leg plumage doesn't appear to be Golden in nature either. Bill
Seriously, I think it is an unusual "blond phase" of the immature Bald Eagle.
The size and shape of the head and beak, and the fact that the top head feathers are not at least as light as the back and wings make it a Bald Eagle. Plus if you look at it without thinking of the blond feathers, everything about the size and shape of the bird says Bald Eagle.
It could be "going Hollywood" next summer...watching too much TV you know.
A bald eagle makes the most sense, but I find it funny that the experts can't even decide which it is for sure. It leaves it open for debate. Gotta get going. BBL.
Mema Jo, have you heard anything from Kent about whether the eagle pair (Starr and what?) are now working the nest, or whether they have shifted to another nest??
Also, the cams and computers obviously need some attention ...even the ones that do still focus on the nest don't cover it very well. Have you heard of plans to bring them back into the good condition they had last year?
JIM You had me looking all over the web for a Surfer Bird! LOL Jokes on gullible me! Kent Nest - the last Spirit & Starr were seen was in OCT. I will email Loraine for any update - in Nov she had said she would hear them in the early morning hours.
OK Out of here for awhile. Preparing last meal for my kids who are going to Germany.
Word on Sgt Ryan's latest call home Regrettably, they have lost a soldier in a mission 2 days ago-Not within Ryan’s platoon, but w/in Alpha Company, close enough. Ryan was doing well, and he sounded so, but said the new guys were pretty shaken up.After a debriefing, he said he sent them to their rooms to clean, which was way to give them some time to process, but a job to keep them busy. They are headed right back out today-Ryan sends his thanks and appreciation for all of the boxes, letters and e-mails of love, care and support that have been sent.It has been deeply appreciated by Ryan, his platoon and all of Alpha Company
That was Starr - The main concern is the whereabouts of Spirit. The pair hasn't been seen together since Oct. Since this is the last nest to have eggs I hope there is still time for him to show.
Well if they have another one then my guess is no good since I guessed two chicks for there. lol
Great pic Paula....
Glo's video and music is awesome. You must go and check the eagles out http://fortheloveofeagles.blogspot.com/ ALL ON ONE LINE Then click on the Quad City video awesome ty Glo I think I play ed it 6 or 8 times. Just set back and it replayed and I enjoyed love the music...relaxing. ( :

Did you Redskins fans see that Joe Gibbs resigned??
Oh, a turn! Aren't we fancy???

Eagle turning eggs in Tesoro. Or feeding???
LOL, you sure are, Deb. Guess if the experts can't agree, you can say it's whatever you want it to be!
Tesoro eagle still standing doing something in the nest.
I am wondering if something is happening at the Tesora nest today. The eagle is sitting up higher in the nest and one of them brought in some fluff. The fluff didn't make the nest yet, it is hanging from the top of the branch outcrop on the left.
Just put Sharon's Hanky Panky picture of Lib & Belle from this morning into the Momster Album.

Thanks, Jo. Have you heard anything new from the Kent people lately?
George was just in the nest. I snapped a picture, so will try to send it out.

Thanks, Mema Jo. I viewed the beautiful bird Deb snapped, read what I could in Wikipedia....
It is a "Surfer Bird" with a bleach job. I am sure of this.
Jim
Jim, I love your idea!! It fits perfectly! Thanks again, Jo. Thanks Paula, I will add your guys opinion to the rest!
LOL, Jim. Good Description!

Word on Sgt Ryan's latest call home
Regrettably, they have lost a soldier in a mission 2 days ago-Not
within Ryan’s platoon, but w/in Alpha Company, close enough.
I think I read on another forum that an adult had been at Kent recently....brb
Here is picture from Jan 3 on Maine forum of eagle at Kent. Not sure which eagle it was.
Main Forum
Both parents feeding at CC! - ONe rips off pieces, Gives to other parent, then parent feeds chick
That was Starr - The main concern is the whereabouts of Spirit. The pair hasn't been seen together since Oct. Since this is the last nest to have eggs I hope there is still time for him to show.
Thanks, Jo.
