Lolly said...

Good morning! Not only is it Buphal's birthday, but it also the birthday of Kellie, my nephews wife. Brett took her to the hospital to labor and delivery two hours ago in San Antonio. Looks like she is going to share her birthday with her new daughter. Anxiously awaiting to hear of her arrival. They have two other children, Shelbie almost 14 and Talon, 3. Do not know this baby's name but know it is a girl.

Could not believe my eyes when I saw that we did not have a cam. This is not the time for things to break down! Thanks for the efforts to get it back up!

Mema Jo said...

Lolly, Talon is already 3 ????????
I remember your announcing his birth due to his name of Talon!

I have a foot dr appointment today - just the maintenance of my nails.
Insurance pays due to my diabetes...

Wishing everyone a good day however they need to spend it.

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

Still just barely morning.

Sugar for hiccups--yes! I started doing that when the children were little. Even recommended it to the pediatrician, and he liked it so much, he recommended it to other parents.

Happy birthday Buphal!

And a very happy birthday to Kellie and her new little girl.

Good Afternoon, Eaglebuds. So sorry there are cam troubles. I got a capture of both peaglets yesterday before noon. One had a white tailtip. Couldn't see the other. They're so big!
In honor of Isla, Lady of the Lochs' first chick, I concocted a new pic! But maybe it's a boy! Duh! I have to ask an expert.
Very busy at Park Saturday.
I just heard some sad news that if you haven't seen any 17 yr. cicadas yet, you won't!!!I was all ready, even bought a new net!I wonder what happened? They were here in '96, laid eggs, so why no hatching???? I swear I've heard them singing in the woods behind my neighbor's garage across the street! Even had a lady from VA call Park to see if we had camping available and NO cicadas. She thought she would cancel her VA camping!

NatureNut said...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL CELEBRATING TODAY!!!!

Loretta, Your

Well, Shirley has been hearing the cicadas....
I know we won't get them around here
until 2020...or something like that.
I don't understand, exactly.
Maybe the weather has been so weird it has affected them
also!

Mema Jo said...

I've return from the foot dr and I am walking well.

No cam up/running yet :(
I guess it's not a simple fix
Stay with it Clay! ♥

Lolly said...

8 lbs 1 oz....my new great niece!! I have already been texted a picture. Once they share the pic on fb then I will share. Do not want to get ahead of mom and dad! She is beautiful and looks a lot like Talon.

JO, I figured some of you might remember when Talon was born. Yes, time is flying by! Still no name for this little one.

We have the AC back on but slept without it last night. It got down to 63....wonderful sleeping weather!

Good afternoon all! Yikes, it is POURING the RAIN out there today!! At least here on the very east coast of DE it is!!

Jo, thanks for the tip about the still cam - better than nothing!! Nest looks dry.

Lolly, congrats on the new grand niece!!

stronghunter said...

Loretta, we could send you some cicadas and not even miss them. I had at least five smash into my car when I was out driving around today. They are interesting. I truly do not remember seeing so many ever before.

stronghunter said...

I have tried to record the sound, but don't think I have picked it up yet. However, it is hard to listen for them in a recording when they are so loud outdoors.

stronghunter said...

People say their dogs and cats are eating the cicadas. Not sure about what Luna was doing this morning. She went way to the back of the yard and was doing something. Maybe a nice snack.

Hunter said he saw a robin grab one in mid-flight. I am sure it is a banquet for them.

I think we have at least one mockingbird nest in the front yard. I went to investigate, and the mockingbird objected loudly to my presence. They are truly protective parents, so I backed away. Maybe I will try a video in a bit.

Wondering if there is a nest on both sides . . . that could get exciting. They might take over the whole front yard.

Life is good.

No cam but they are working on it and that is terrific that we can still watch on the still cam.

JO glad the foot treatment went well and that you are well with it.

Looking forward to JUDIE's report on the carpet store trip and paint match...

rode my bicycle and beat the rain. the fund raiser on the 17th is demanding a lot of attention now. I approached five stores and between them we should be able to get all of our grocery list donated for us to cook an African Feast. This time it is for the slums of Nairobi Kenya. There is such a disparity in levels of income in the world. When I hear about depraved misguided people who commit unthinkable crimes in the west I always wonder what depraved childhoods they must have had...maybe they simply can not reconcile it with the abundance here...so they hide behind misguided violent ideologies!!! I do not know I am thinking out loud. Any way I am involved in trying to raise money for arts and education and an activity centre for the youth in Nairobi Kenya...The children look sweet.

Hoda said...

LORI, I only went without groceries for a week. I could have gone two weeks there is enough food in the flat...I did run out of fresh vegetables and only had the sprouted seeds for that department. I also ran out of fresh fruit...
I learnt a lot from the experience.

Gratitude is the top most thing in my life.

Tomorrow I will ride my bicycle to the optometrist and then go for tea with a friend. I hope I beat the rain like I did today...my appointment is in the morning so I should be alright. Regular six month check up on macular degeneration and on cataract forming...My sight is no longer 20/20 but I see well enough and have pereferal vision...don't much like the floaters and peridically by eye balls hurt and I get light sensitivity...I have to tell him about all that...Will keep you posted.

Good evening to everyone.

Exhausted is the word. Seems to me that colors should just be colors and not go changing all about depending on where they are located. Stupid colors! Narrowed down some options. Have asked the paint lady to return to give advice. So, painters next week and carpet the week following, and strangers the week following.

Think I may take a Dragon Boat ride to B.C. and eat a whole bunch of brownies. Ahhhhh, tranquility!

I'll keep up as best I can. Hope to catch another glimpse of Hedgie and Shamrock before they leave us.

Hope everyone is okay. Sandperson will be leaving here at 11pm.

Restful sleep for all.

Good morning, or not. Yes, it is the last day of school for my kinders and I should be ecstatic. And I am...but we got some crappy news yesterday on my dad.
I know I haven't been updating and such on here, but we thought he was doing really well. And actually he is. He looks great, feels great, has tons of energy and a great outlook. He built 2 box gardens, one for me, one for mom, swam with us the other night, helped Monte fix the trailer and just all around looks like he has so much energy. Unfortunately, his CT scan indicated some suspicious spots and the doctor ordered a PET scan. Yesterday, we got the news that the PET scan "lit" up. That was scary to hear, yet, could have been worse. The spots that lit up were the ones the doctor saw on the CT. Lit up means they are cancer. It is in lymph nodes and it is considered a "recurrence" which apparently is defined as "incurable". How much does that suck! We don't like those words and I don't know how well I understand it. I'm upset, but really angry. How can this be? How? They just took it all out in Feb. how can it be "back". Well they say it is Stage 4. Again, considered that because it's a recurrence. We have an appointment with a surgeon to have a port put in and it's back to the Chemo. He will be getting Taxol once a week for 3 weeks then rest a week, repeat then scan. This super sucks!
Sorry to be such a downer on this beautiful morning. Just thought I would fill you in, ask for prayers.

They are both taking a moment to watch the adult fly around, I presume.

Janet, have you ever tried feta, chopped basil, and olive oil on tomato slices. Yummy!!!

Also, blue cheese melted under the broiler of filets!!! OMG! Oh, and then topped with a wonderful sauce!!!

Was enjoying the shadow of the eaglet on the stump, then the other came and sat down on the shadow. Grrrr!

At least today I will have the cam to watch while walking. Yesterday was a bummer.

LOL Newest great niece is a little piggy. 8 lbs and only 19 inches. She has the fattest cheeks! She looks just like Talon or TC as they call him. Still no name. Waiting on that news so Jack can make a name train.

SANDI, forgot to answer you, sorry. Dad is doing very well now. About 90% back to normal. He's going camping, mowing the huge yard, stairs and everything like before. Thanks for asking!

Lolly said...

food possibly coming in...eaglet squealing. Nope, no food but bet parent is in the tree. Looking up as if to say "where's the chow?"

Lolly said...

Wow, Lori....that sounds great!!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

That eaglet just got some serious air.

Lolly said...

Oh, that was a huge air lift by eaglet in the nest. One on stump is doing a big wing flap.

Lolly said...

Glad you saw it too, Sharon,

paula eagleholic said...

Lori, glad to hear your Dad is doing so well.

Janet, waiting for your update on Tom. Hoping all goes as planned!

Lolly, I like Talon much better than TC...I hate initial nick names!

I do see an eaglet eating! Cannot see the second one.

paula eagleholic said...

Ok, can see the shadow of the eaglet in the balcony at times.

paula eagleholic said...

Have one more planter to go.

Think I will take Nick for a walk when I'm done.

paula eagleholic said...

Wondering what our eaglet is eating...looks feathered underfoot.

magpie said...

Many thanks to NCTC - Clay - and any and all technicians who
got the still and live feeds up and running....

Bravo !

Hello More Eagle Pals

magpie said...

Love the shadow play at the nest,
whether it's the eaglets or the
leaves or branches....

Lolly said...

I agree with you, Paula, and I like Talon. I remember that the lady at open house with her birds, her daughter was named Talon.

Eagle came in fast with lunch and exited immediately. Eaglet in nest chowed for a full half hour as we were walking and I was a watchin!! It was a dark colored bird is all I know. Could see the feathers occasionally as the eaglet had its back to the cam.

Other eaglet just cam down from the balcony and is chowing on the leftovers.

In the middle of this post my brother called. His new granddaughter has a name...
Terra Kellie. Paula, hope they do not call her TK. lol

paula eagleholic said...

I see one eaglet munching at the 2 spot, the other is at the launchpad, munching also...facing in toward the nest.

One one at the 2 spot is defeathering!

Lolly said...

It was a large bird...have been munching for quite a while!

JudyEddy said...

Home for a quickie at lunch had to drop off House Payments and I see live feed is up

JudyEddy said...

JudyEddy said...

JudyEddy said...

THANKS CLAY AND all who fixed the LIVE FEED

ONE EAGLET IS AT BOTTOM OF BALCONY STUMP

stronghunter said...

Wow! Excitement at the Sycamore Palace!! Parent must be near.

stronghunter said...

One sitting right below the cam. Talk about a close-up.

paula eagleholic said...

One in the nest and one on the balcony

paula eagleholic said...

Eaglet at the base of the balcony looking up and calling out....

Oh, I see a fish in the nest at the 3 spot...

So, Eaglet must just be talking to parent :)

Other eaglet on the balcony.

Janet said...

good afternoon. all is quiet here.....we have been home just over an hour...tom is snoozing. doc says surgery went well. now, if we can get him to "behave" over the healing process............................ we know how tempting it is as you heal and feel better to do things that you aren't supposed to do.................. :(

LOLLY: when fresh tomatos come in i will have to try feta/basil and olive oil on them...that sounds decadent!

CMA (country music festival) is going on this week. i forgot, it is always the first week of June not that i go downtown much anyway nor had any plans to do so, but .... always good to be aware of that mad house.

years ago, when i lived in maine, i thought it would have been great fun to go to this; now that i live here, eh, not so much. 20 years makes a difference in opinions sometimes!

not a lot else going on. i am watching the 4p.m. news.....just had my p.m. coffee and am breathing a sigh of relief....wwwwhhheeewwww!!!!!!
surgery's done; time to heal.... thanks for your energies and love!

Good evening.

Pardon my deletes.

DanaMo, happy that you have finished your school year (almost) and are looking forward to the Toledo trip. Please know I am very sorry about your Dad's diagnosis. You have our thoughts and prayers.

Janet, glad Tom is home from surgery. Just remind him that those who misbehave are subject to severe eagle cane attacks. May he heal quickly.

Good Evening Eagle Buds !

Happy to report a good time was had by all throughout Seth's big weekend. Couldn't have been better !

DANA, so glad your K year is over with and wishing you safe travel to Toledo. Very distressed, but prayerful in hopes that your dad will respond beautifully to chemo.

LORI, of course we are elated that your dad is doing so well. Here's hoping DANA's dad will follow suit !

Wonderful to have the cam back up and thanks to Steve and the others who made that happen.

Congrats to LOLLY on the new grandniece ! I remember when Talon was born and now he has a wee baby sister. Sweet !

JUDYE, hate to hear about the leaky roof---went through that agony about 2 years ago---no fun and not cheap to deal with.

Fervent prayers for DANA's dad, LYNNE1's son and all others in need ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Busy day for me. Carpet measurer measured and gave carpet advice, real estate friend stopped by for a color consult, patio people stopped to assess patio problem, attended a meeting with Darth, prepared a salad for said meeting, finished three loads of laundry. Okay, enough about me.

Checked on the nest a couple of times. Seems our eaglets are making final preparations for flight. So happy the live cam is back.

Thank you Clay and to any others who worked magic for the momsters and dadsters. Hugs.

Sandperson is busy stuffing a recycled pillowcase with sleepy dust and will be the way at 11pm. Restful sleep for all.

DanaMo said...

Thanks Kay! He is strong and determined! He won't go down without a fight. We are all feeling much better today. Resolved to just look it in the face and do what needs to be done! He has responded well in the past so there is no reason to think that he won't again. Damn cancer!

DanaMo said...

Thank you Judie and everyone for all your prayers.Dad is strong and so are mom and I. :)

Strong, but tired. Good night. Love you guys!
