I believe Palmer is still in the nest tonight, though it is hard to see. She has been in the nest most of the day, though she has left and come back if I remember correctly.
We have been watching a loon cam in Alaska. There is one baby there. There is concern about the other one.
Has been some kind of issue at the bear cam Facebook page.
They ARE VERY HARD WORK! Been there and don't that many times. It is a wonderful way to get rid of unwanteds and gain some extra space, not to mention EXTRA MONEY!
Yes, they came in droves! Laurel had all her baby equipment and all the childrens clothes. And, I must say my grandsons have always been the best dressed. A lot of compliments on the cuteness and the care taken of the clothes
Jumped right in! Something must have happened to the 2nd little chick. I think we're lucky to have one and I don't think we'll know whatever happened to the other.
Two good shows tonight! I can't get that new loon cam to open, but did see the video----that mama has a white head! Wonder if they are all like that in Alaska? Judie, good luck with your proposal....can't imagine they would turn you down if they appreciate your intelligence and the fact that you are the most favored prof of the athletes! Lolly, Palmer apparently ate early this AM and took off...in and out a couple of times today!! She's learning! Gotta look at Lowreeda's pics!
Lynne----have fun on your trip! Hope your knee feels better. So glad the YR's didn't get you. I had a wasp chase me today....luckily he veered off and I got in the door!
I'm right behind you, Jo! Hope everyone sleeps well. Will see you in the AM at some point. Will have to hustle to get ready for company. Prayers for all.
Well, stuff ready to load in car....cleaned just about everything but didn't get to mop the kitchen floor. I forgot how much STUFF has to go camping with us!
Cannot find the my Luggable Loo seat. UGH.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and prayers for all! see you Monday eve or Tues!
(Puddles is trying to get into EVERYTHING. Not much help!)
Have been VERY busy today--went to Wal-Mart and did a lot of the shopping Hubby & I usually do on Saturday morning. We are going to meet my Sis-in-law for breakfast tomorrow, and needed to get some of the usual shopping done ahead of time.
Saw a Black-crowned Night Heron fledgling out back today. Thanking God that our ornery neighbor seems to be out of town, along with the rest of his family. The fledgling can fly very well, so am not worried about it. Last I saw of it, it was headed back to its nest.
Good to see Palmer again. That big girl sure is talkative!
Getting pretty tired, so think I'll call it a night. Early start tomorrow! Prayers being said for everyone. The night light is on for lateniks, and the porch light is automatic. Sweet eagle, loonie, and bear cub dreams, everyone. Sleep well, Palmer, Belle, and Lib. Will talk to you guys some time tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love you guys! :o]
It's just getting light; Palmer's up, calling for food or attention; practicing flight around the nest; is standing at about 2:30 o'clock; looking all around for his parents.
Now she flew to the launch pad and nearly went over head first; looks like she may be about to go look for the pater and mater on her own.
Getting ready for my morning coffee. I am watching the loon sleeping in her nest. It is light there, though not very. I guess it is light most of the time in Alaska now. We are at the time of the midnight sun.
Good morning everyone. Golly its been a stormy time since i last checked in. But the sun is shining. Humidity has broken an doh what a beautiful morning. And there's our sweet Palmer. I htikn she is quite fascinated with turtle shells :-)
Wow, Palmer is still in the nest, don't know if she's been in and out, but I think I just caught her finishing breakfast and cleaning her beak. Standing under the cam at present.
Judie, I am having better luck getting the nest cam at Internet Explorer right now. But that is not always the case. Right now, I am using Firefox for the blog and Internet Explorer for the nest cam. That may change at any time, though.
Palmer has eaten some of her fish and now rushes Mom for hers, which is about gone. So Mom goes to the back to get the other one, and Palmer rushes back and snatches it! Too funny!
BEagle thank you for this mornings comments. She left and came back, left and came back again. I think I have that right.
Belle brings fish in, Libety flyns in (maybe with a delivery) then flys out.
Palmer and Belle eating. Pallmer eats and screams. Now Palmer wants what Belle has because she is finished hers.
Belle takes her fish to back of nest but leaves it there I think for Palmer. Again she eats and whines. Palmer is using her talons to hold the fish and pretty good at pulling it apart.
I pray they will reconsider if she passes on and Y7 dosn't feed the chicks. As a tribute to such a Grand Lady Isla to recuse her last hatching of chicks and raise them and then let them free when old enough in ISLA'S HONOR.
As Jim & BEagle pointed out, the amount of white feathers on Palmer is more than some eaglets, but isn't that variability one of the many things that makes juvenile bald eagles so fascinating?
Glo and I get to see a bunch of juvies all at one time in Illinois in the winter - they come to our rivers when lakes up north freeze - comparing them is fun.
And then just think how different Palmer's feathers will look in 5 years!
Y7 is there with Isla now trying to figure out what is wrong. They have been beak to beak at times. Hope she can tell him to bring a fish and feed it to her.
Y7 flys off and Isla spreads her wings out to hold herself up. Looking at him as he left. Hopefully he has gone for a fish. This is some GRAND LADY I tell you.
If what is happening to Isla is because of old age. Which is what Peter of the team feels it is. I am glad it is at home at Loch of Lowes. Peter feels Y7 will continue to feed the chicks. They aren't that far away from feeding themselves. He said as far a a predator when Dad Y7 is away fishing there really isn't any to harm the chicks.
Good Morning! You all are the sunshine of my life! Palmer is living the life of leisure - what's with that? Great comments on here - Thanks to all of you I know what went on with Palmer during the am hours.
They have moved the camera in to Isla's face. It looks like she is still alive. Her head is moving around some eyes are open. The GRAND LADY ISLA is still breathing. They move camera back out.
They just moved camera back in to Isla's face and she raised her head to them. Then laid it back down but is still breathing.
In an email talking with Chrissy. She said Y7 has fed the chicks today but not LADY ISLA. Maybe she has told him not to waste the food on her. Just to take care of their chicks and see they fledge in HONOR OF ME (ISLA). I'm just too old now and glad to be home here if this is my time.
I thought maybe her legs were stuck in the nest, like someone else had mentioned, then I saw her moving them, and she has changed position, facing the camera, so I guess that is not the case. So sad.
PH chicks looking really good this morning, one on each side of the nest, preening. Don't see very many white feathers on them, they are very dark in color.
Y7 just showed up with a fish. Lady Isla tried to get up but couldn't. Chick went over to Dad and tried to bite the fish. Is was still alive. Dad (Y7) is now feeding the chicks!!! ( :
CT osprey cam still cloudy, can't see a thing. They are now thinking it's not poop, which would mean a camera problem. All 4 chicks are looking good, they have some pics posted on the site.
Feeding at LOL over, chicks were snugged up next to Mom, who is now facing 4-5ish...chicks now up and moving about....now one is snugged up against her again...Mom's head is up....looking about..still too weak to move much
Hahaha. It's probably going to be a "hi, good-bye" thing this morning.
Went down last evening to go shopping, and apparently I've been spending too much time on here and not enough driving my hot rod ...the battery was dead.
It's a fairly new Die Hard, so I think I just let it go too long...
Have to take care of that and some errands this morning.
I was checking in on Decorah & Hornby nests; Decorah triplets about a week away from being ready to fly, Phoenix at Hornby (so little gray fuzz left!) just stood up and a parent was heard off in the distance calling (love that sound).
Came back here to see our Palmer chowing down - thanks for report about delivery and quick parental departure, Paula. Not surprised she's not keen on sharing!
We go eagle watching around here in the winter when the lakes freeze north of the cheddar curtain (Wisconsin) and our rivers are good fishing spots for eagles - I've joked with my husband that if we found an eagle feather on the ground we might not get arrested if he picked it up because he's half Native American, & Native peoples are allowed to have eagle feathers.

GOOD EARLY MORNING
OF A SATURDAY TO YOU
EVERYONE.

It's just getting light; Palmer's up, calling for food or attention; practicing flight around the nest; is standing at about 2:30 o'clock; looking all around for his parents.
Now she flew to the launch pad and nearly went over head first; looks like she may be about to go look for the pater and mater on her own.
[:~D]
Jim
She's lying down again, facing the l. pad, blowing zzzzzzzzzzz's.
[:~D]
Jim
Her head is up again, looking around.
Boy, she sure has a lot more white in her pattern than many eaglets.
[:~D]
Jim
She's lying there quietly now, looking around.
I'm going to get some shut eye myself......
Later, friends.
[:~D]
Jim
Palmer just now flew off the nest.
I was reading posts and heard it more than saw her take off.
Was noticing the array of white feathers on Palmer's back. The other eaglets we frequent don't seem to have that much white any more.
Gosh. That was a good yard sale Lolly.
Sounds like someone could teach a class on "How To Have a Successful Yard Sale!"
Also noticing the posts about the newly discovered loon cam.
I watched and watched....all I saw was either an empty nest or the mom on the nest.
It was fun reading the activity at the nest.
Adult BELLE? just few in.
She brought a fishie with her.
Eating nice big bite size pieces.
Belle keeps looking off to the side of the cam tree.
I knew it! Palmer just flew in and claiming the rest of that fish.
Belle flew off. So Palmer is quietly eating what's left of that fish.
Palmer is taking smaller bite size pieces of the fish.
Take that back. She just swallowed a big hunk of fish.
Palmer's entrance was relatively quiet this morning. A little screaming as she entered was all.
Palmer picked up the rest of the fish, not much of it now, and moved it over to the 9.
Palmer is still eating.
Palmer cleaned up her plate on that one. Looked around for any crumbs.
Now she's looking out from the launch position.
Beak clean.
Adult back on nest and now Palmer is whining.
Adult flew back off again.
There's no food left so it must be territorial fussing.
Unless she was guarding those turtle shells. : )
Now that Palmer moved, I see the adult brought in another fish!
I missed that previously.
Now Palmer has moved off and starting to dig into the second fish.
A growing child.
This is a wushi.
I trust you enjoyed the early breakfast postings.
bye bye for now.
Forgot to say, have a good morning and a beautiful day.
Good morning, BEagle.
Getting ready for my morning coffee. I am watching the loon sleeping in her nest. It is light there, though not very. I guess it is light most of the time in Alaska now. We are at the time of the midnight sun.
Very peaceful and still at the loon cam.
Looking for that little head to poke out.
Palmer is munching on something at the nest.
Good morning everyone. Golly its been a stormy time since i last checked in. But the sun is shining. Humidity has broken an doh what a beautiful morning. And there's our sweet Palmer. I htikn she is quite fascinated with turtle shells :-)
Good Morning!
Wow, Palmer is still in the nest, don't know if she's been in and out, but I think I just caught her finishing breakfast and cleaning her beak.
Standing under the cam at present.
Jo, thank you for the loon video. Really adorable.
Lolly, so glad the sale went so well the first day. Hope the second day goes well, also.
Hi Loweeda! Need to check your pictures. What type of bird is nesting outside your window? I forget.
Can't get the live cam this morning, so far. Grrrrr
Lynne, enjoy the camping trip!
Hi Jim, thanks for the play-by-play this morning as I can't see anything.
Andy, how's school? Still our star student?
Good morning, Shirley and BEagle.
Going to try to live cam again, get coffee, then newspaper. BBL
Thanks for commentary BEagle...I see it was two breakfasts for Palmer!
Judie, I am having better luck getting the nest cam at Internet Explorer right now. But that is not always the case. Right now, I am using Firefox for the blog and Internet Explorer for the nest cam. That may change at any time, though.
I am soooooo excited. Finally got the nest and there is Palmer surveying her kingdom. My day will be a happy one.
Good morning, Paula and Glo.
I think someone said Palmer had left the nest and returned earlier this morning.
Yay, Judie. Now you can watch Palmer.
Baby loon just popped out from under mom's wing for a moment.
Daddy loon feeding the little one.
Another fish delivery!
Boy, Palmer has it made in the shade!
Ha, and here comes Belle!
Whole family in the nest!
There is the whole family! With the screaming child.
Breakfast is served......snatched out of Belle's talons before she even landed!! LOL!!! What a baby!
Good morning!
Lib took off
Belle and Palmer are both eating
Don't know if ya'll have gotten to your emails yet, but Isla at Loch of Lowes is not in good shape.
Palmer just dragged her fish to the back of the nest, that was funny
Put some hummingbird posts on the e-mail and one on my blog. A friend sent them to me. I don't know the woman in the picture.
Lord, that eagle child is vocal.
Palmer has eaten some of her fish and now rushes Mom for hers, which is about gone. So Mom goes to the back to get the other one, and Palmer rushes back and snatches it! Too funny!
George is lying on the table looking out the window at something there. He is making little comments. I expect a squirrel is at the feeder.
Good Saturday Morning in Eagle Land to ALL.
Jim thans for your comments.
Geesh, I think that's Lib in the nest and not Belle
Listen to those sounds that Palmer makes when not screaming.
Belle eats on must be pretty hungry.
Palmer at 12 o'clock finished food. For now not bothering Belle for hers. Wonder how long that will last?
Lynn2 have a nice trip.
Going to email to see about Isla.
Palmer just rushed Lib for some food, she snagged the last little chunk
Well that didn't last long. Palmer is over wanting the food Belle has. Palmer grabs a piece for herself.
Lib went to the back, and Palmer rushed him and started nipping at his wings and talons, so he took off!
OMG, Palmer just pushed parent out of nest!!!!
hmmm Palmer seems to have staked a homested :-)
Looks like Palmer has settled for a nap after pushing parent out of nest
I posted a few more pictures on my blog.
Someone had asked about my students' creative projects, so I put up a couple of bulletin board pictures, and added a few backyard wildlife shots.
So glad I managed to check the web cam at a good time this morning
From Palmer Food deliveries needed BUT beware NO LOITERING
She has only child syndrome!
Oh, and good morning everyone :))
Palmer is good at those eagle whines.
I missed all the excitement.
Judie, have you tried Google Chrome? I watch the nest on that one, have had very good luck.
off to check other cams..I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday
Prayers for our sweet Chrissy from across the pond.
May God be with one of HIS creatures the Lady Osprey Isla and her chicks.
Just heard a woodpecker.
good SATURDAY morning everyone, have a good one.
So sad about the osprey at the Loch.
Time to do some tidying up around here. BBL.
I pray they will reconsider if she passes on and Y7 dosn't feed the chicks. As a tribute to such a Grand Lady Isla to recuse her last hatching of chicks and raise them and then let them free when old enough in ISLA'S HONOR.

Poor Isla...breaks my heart
Good Morning! You all are the sunshine of my life! Palmer is living the life of leisure - what's with that?
Great comments on here - Thanks to all of you I know what went on with Palmer during the am hours.
More drama for us to witness with
Isla...breaks my heart also.
Need to get ready - headed up the road.
BBILW
They have moved the camera in to Isla's face. It looks like she is still alive. Her head is moving around some eyes are open. The GRAND LADY ISLA is still breathing.
They move camera back out.
Palmer up and stretching...poop shoot..some flapping around the nest
Love the way she flips her tail
They just moved camera back in to Isla's face and she raised her head to them. Then laid it back down but is still breathing.
In an email talking with Chrissy. She said Y7 has fed the chicks today but not LADY ISLA. Maybe she has told him not to waste the food on her. Just to take care of their chicks and see they fledge in HONOR OF ME (ISLA). I'm just too old now and glad to be home here if this is my time.

Dana, that info is on their blog as well.
I think Palmer is looking for some shade...sunny on the nest right now...at the 2 with wings spread.
Found 2 small zucchini in the garden!
Not ready to pick yet...but they will be soon!
Palmer is standing at the launch pad looking out.
PH chicks looking really good this morning, one on each side of the nest, preening. Don't see very many white feathers on them, they are very dark in color.
Yes Paula that is where I am on the Blog (well one of the places I'm here watching Palmer too).
Palmer plotzed, facing noon
Y7 is back, chicks are peeping
Palmer can't get comfy, was in the middle, now at the 10 spot
He has a long skinny fish, hope he feeds the chicks again
Isla tried to get up but couldn't
fish is still wiggling!
He is slowly feeding chicks....looking around a lot
Y7 just showed up with a fish. Lady Isla tried to get up but couldn't.
Chick went over to Dad and tried to bite the fish. Is was still alive. Dad (Y7) is now feeding the chicks!!! ( :
Hearing a dove call our nest
I'm not sure if Isla is still breathing or not.
Isla just moved her head...one of the chicks is on her lower back while eating.
Palmer puppy dog whining.
This is all instinct...feed the chicks....
And from the chicks...I need food to survive.
Been out watering and feeding plants...see Palmer at noon facing out...she's a real homebody!
Palmer up and fussing at the 2
CT osprey cam still cloudy, can't see a thing. They are now thinking it's not poop, which would mean a camera problem. All 4 chicks are looking good, they have some pics posted on the site.
Adult and chick at BWE.
Glad to see Palmer is still on the nest.
Good Morning again.....
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Feeding at LOL over, chicks were snugged up next to Mom, who is now facing 4-5ish...chicks now up and moving about....now one is snugged up against her again...Mom's head is up....looking about..still too weak to move much
Lib just arrived with lunch, Palmer has snagged it right away
Nope, Dad, don't think she's gonna share! Lib departs.
Time to eat the fishy, she is in perfect view, hope she stays there
Boy Paula look at that turtle shell right in front of her. Mema Jo's shell!!!!
Heading out
bbl
Have a great day and a great weekend, everybody.

NEW THREAD, EVERYBODY!!!
Good view of pretty feathers on her back.
