Presently listening to a squealing eaglet and a purring cat. They are asking for the same thing. Loud purring at this time of the day is stage one of begging for food.
Daughter won't answer my calls or text because I know she is afraid to tell me the "package" didn't get there by UPS. She knows I'll cry because she has been crying.
I have tracked it and something is very wrong. I have written down my ID and password but they won't work.
GOOD EVENING... Back from Interstate Insanity:) Lots of traffic out there, last night and today! Gene and I both enjoyed our newest adventure...a fun time, it was:)
Stopped at GG's before coming home and after being there long enough to do her meds and some food, she said you both look tired, go home and take a nap...so we did! That is a first for her...she usually doesn't want us to go. Tis a good sign, I think:)
Wonder how much is instinct and how much is taught? I am thinking of eaglets like Noah. They have to learn to take care of themselves, but it is obvious that Belle and Lib are giving Palmer practice.
Finally called my son to wish him a Happy Dad's Day...thought he worked today, but he took off. He didn't have a lot of time to chat, he was busy being a Dad ♥
Palmer has spent the night elsewhere and knows the comfort of her nest. Hope she sleeps there for a good, long time:) Somehow, it makes me feel secure to see her there:)
Probably shouldn't speculate on what Judie might think. She has already told me that I have some kind of personality disorder because I said I heard voices at the nest. Next thing I know I will be in a padded room.
If GG wants to get rid of you because she is busy, that is probably good, too.
I remember when Palmer was smaller, Belle was still on the nest and she went over and whacked Lib to get the fish he brought in. The eaglet, oops peaglet, watches those things.
There was a Father's Day-WV Day celebration at the Rest Area. Bluegrass Band played some good music. We were given some pretty neat shirts with WILD AND WONDERFUL WV embroidered on them.
Coffee pot gave out on us, so we had to make coffee in the Eagle Express. Someone finally gave us a suggestion as to how to fix it, and it worked:)
Shirley, as I recall, Jo heard voices one day...don't remember where:) There have been times that I, lying in bed at night, could hear out TV, as though it was on very, very low. Get up and TV is turned off. Never mentioned it to Gene, don't like Padded Cells. Well, we were talking with Karla one evening and she was telling us of some of her ghost stories when she lived in a 1700's house. Gene, then told her of his TV ghost...he'd been hearing it too! Whaaaaat?
Okay, y'all, I'm not going down the disorders road with ya.
LOL. Shirley really is on vacation. Our English teacher used the word ain't. LMBO.
Can't get the live cam so can only imagine from the comments that Palmer is pitching one hissy fit after another. Well, you go girl. Call it like you see it!
Dana, so sorry the package is lost. Still, the thought is there and when the package arrives, all will be okay with lots and lots of wonderful memories for your daughter.
Wanda, glad you and Gene had a good time and that GG is feeling up to telling you two to go home. I think she's feeling much better.
BEagle I just made a cup of coffee BUT 2 hrs ago I did enjoy a Frosty!
Glad you and Gene had a fun day! Glad your shirts said Wild & Wonderful and NOT that new saying they were going to have for WV - I can't remember it right now but it was yuck. Did all your brownies get eaten?
I remember we had a conversation before about voices coming from a device--was it computer speakers? We decided it was because there was a nearby broadcasting station and the signal was coming through because it was so near, something like that.
Paula, we have no near-by neighbors! Padded Cells may be in our future;)
JO, I'm pleased to say that our Brownies were a big hit with adults and children, alike. Kids especially loved having pop corn at 8 o'clock in the morning...a novelty for them:) I think there were enough for the last shift of the day to put out.
OH, speaking of Hot Dates, when we were at my aunt's viewing, an old school mate of GG's was there and was asking around if anyone had seen Edith (they were sweet on each other, way back then). Oh, what a sweet reunion it was! Gene snapped a picture, but I don't recall seeing it.
I am so UPSET tracking number would not work until today which was too late. Package arrived in Commerce City, Colorado on 17th and is sitting there until 23 or 24th. They didn't even try contacting her or me and they had my phone number and all. It is all because that guy at UPS store on Rt.11 near car wash, Nationwide or Shopping center where Food Lion is. He did not put the Building number on the package. I kept telling him it needed the building numbe along with the apt number. All no he said it is kicking out the building number. I said then find some place to put it in there because it is needed!!!!! I told him they have the address for her already in the system and it always has the building and apt numbers both on it. He kept saying it is kicking the building number out so that means they will still deliver it to right place on time because they don't need the building number to deliver it. I SAID YES THEY DO!!! Oh Lord what a mess. I texted Daughter and told her I know why she hasn't texted me. Then I went on to explain. We both were crying through our text messages. Of course she will go pick it up on Monday.
Boy oh Boy is this UPS store going to which they were closed this Monday!!!! :(:( grrrr Mommy Bear IS MAD!!! at what they did to baby bear!!!
Have to tell my Mother to stay home Monday. She might have to come and get me out of jail. Never been in one before. Margy tell them to please put me in a clean cell.
Setting: Somewhere on the banks of the Potomac River.
Belle: Lib, we need to have a nice, peaceful dinner, just the two of us.
Lib: Yeah. Tell you what. I'll take a couple of fish to the kid. That will keep her occupied, and we can have a nice, romantic dinner down here by the river.
I am about ready to call it a night. I will see you fine folks tomorrow. Good night and God bless.
Dana, so sorry your package did not arrive when you wanted it to. At least it is not lost.
I think it might upset your daughter if you went to jail over this. Might just spoil things for her. Please promise me you will not do anything to get arrested.
Bless you, Dana. Your daughter will appreciate your efforts.
Sorry, Dana....don't get me started on package delivery. I had one coming with "expected" delivery date of 6/18. It left CA, sat in Colorado for 3 days, and then took 3 more days to get here....exactly on the 18th. UPS. And don't forget the condition of my Christmas box from MO. USPS. Mom's b-day presents took 3 weeks--USPS--from wherever a company shipped from---but, thank goodness, it did arrive ON her b-day.
Those pics weren't there from Steve a few hours ago when I rebooted!!! He has added them this evening. Bet that concert was rockin'!! Colorado is beautiful. Wonder what caused flight delays.....storms, I guess.
Dana, if you end up in jail I'll try to arrange for some padded walls, lol. Between Margy and me, we can arrange to help you plan your escape. Seriously, all will be okay. Not worth your blood pressure.
Wow, what great pictures from Steve! Not a bad place to be stranded. Read Miss Piggy is in the nest.Food always works.
That is why we have a problem here. Fubby started putting kitty food out for wild, stray. little calico kitty during the blizzard. She appeared on the 3 foot snow bank one day eating bread for the birds! She comes by now & then & we put out dry cat food. We have a small water dish for Shorty, the squirrel.Early this evening, she was at top of short staircase as I was going in side door. She usually gets far away from you. She stayed until I got to door & turned to go down steps & stumbled down like her back legs were very weak. After we were inside, she drank lots of water, ate some food & laid down right there. Later she went down back stairs, out to grass & laid on her side. She later came up & laid on deck. Now she's gone. The dilemma is we'll have to wait until morning & see if we see her.If she's still sick or debilitated enough maybe we could get close enough to throw a towel or something over her & get her in cage (wearing leather gloves of course) & get her to vet if he'll take her. It's always something---don't need anymore animal drama. Thx for listening--and I thought all the angst was in Scotland. I pray that people will get responsible about their animals.
Shirley, I like your scenario of Belle and Lib having a romantic (and blissfully quiet) dinner together. Good night.
Did see both eaglets at TH and WE. Pretty.
Maybe tomorrow will be a live cam day for me and Palmer will come to visit.
Will be turning my light off soon but will leave the night light on for others coming in, going back the hallway, headed to the tub or the shower, upstairs or downstairs. Andy, please set the alarm for us as you always do. Thank you.
I will throw in my goodnight, too. It is dawn in Scotland, and Isla is still moving...where there's breath, there's life, as the saying goes........I just pray she's not in pain. Chicks are nestled close to her, still sleeping. She's still protecting them, and I hope they are giving her comfort. See you all tomorrow. Prayers and peace.
Just got back - Dana, I read the hat story and the sad saga about the UPS goof-up. I'm so sorry to hear the hat and special picture didn't arrive in time for Father's Day as planned. I'm sure your daughter appreciated your thoughtfulness - the best laid plans, while so sweet in theory, were unfortunately thwarted by the doofuses.
When she finally does receive those things, they will be even more special for having to wait a little bit longer and for the angst of all this delivery drama.
I'm just so glad they weren't lost! They're too precious. You're probably in bed by now - it's late on the east coast - hope you can get some decent sleep until you know for sure she has them in hand!
Well time to try & get off this 'puter!! Loved Shirley's Belle & Lib romance novel! Wanda, glad to hear GG has got lots of Spunk & you had interesting time at Welcome Ctr. When we drove up last weekend, saw the one that was supposed to be Open--NOT!! Thx for letting me cry on your shoulders! Jo, if kitty gets better, Fubby mentioned we should just get her fixed & let her go her way. I was hoping to find someplace that takes ferals for barn cats, but only heard of one on Eastern Shore. And we're talking $$$ for animal that doesn't belong to us---but I'd do it. Oh Well, Scarlet says, "Tomorrow is another day." Pleasant Dreams to All, ;>)
Paula - Thanks so much for the great video! I did LOL! Only instinct can keep eagle parents coming back to continue feeding & teaching & protecting such surly offspring!!
But it was good to see Palmer so feisty because she definitely has the fight in her that she'll need to get and keep her food when she's out on her own.
I got the impression that she was perched in the tree when Lib brought the first fish to the nest, but wasn't sure enough of herself to do a short branch-to-nest flight, so she fussed and fussed about "so near and yet so far," until she finally (I'm guessing) took a flight out and then back toward the tree. Did it look like that to anyone else?
We have been on the go again today. Went out to breakfast, then went walking around Old Towne Orange. Had a very enjoyable time.
Came home and took care of all our patio plants, then sat & bird watched. Spent most of the day on the cell phones either talking or texting the kids/grandkids/great-grandkid! Thank God for 'Friends & Family'! BTW, it was something like 103 where the kids live today! Good thing there's a big community pool with a giant slide!
Boy, what a fusser our Palmer is! Love your eagle romance novel, Shirley!
Dana, so sorry the package got delayed, but all will be OK when it's finally delivered, I'm sure. Love that the picture is going with it--just perfect!
Hope that Steve will not be stranded for too long, and will be able to get home OK. Gotta say, though, if you have to be stranded, what a wonderful place to be! Beautiful pictures!
Amazed that Isla is still hanging in there--God bless her! Wondering now if it is possible that she had a stroke or something. Hope she is not in pain, or suffering. What a beautiful bird!(((HUGS))) for Chrissy, who is keeping us all posted about her.
Well, getting tired, so leaving the night light and porch light burning. The eye scanner security is enabled. Prayers said for everyone. Sleep well, friends! Will talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love you guys! :o]
Dear heaven above. Woke up and checked on LOL. Boy Toy was feeding chicks and then Isla rallied and raised herself up and turned around, spread her wings and tucked the babies one under each wing. Cannot believe what I saw. Dear Isla a loving parent.
Sorry about your package. I've had problems like that many times and it seems to work best when you deal with the vendor who shipped it. They know packages get lost all the time. Many times, Amazon and Coldwater Creek will just ship out your same order again at no charge and tell you to return the lost package if it ever shows up - they never do. Good Luck.
if I had to get stranded somewhere, a Bluegrass festival in Colorado would suit me just fine... neat pictures, Steve I will have to Google to see what musicians were there guess you were stranded at the airport though :(
Getting a double dose of ISS hereabouts on the 23rd, and a Triple Dose on the 24th... hope some of the rest of you will also....put in YOUR zip code and see
Dear Dana, last year my special full-family 70th birthday package for my brother Fred was mailed in plenty of time to get to its destination in Naples...but, it stopped in Tampa, took a U-turn and spent an extra day or two in Baltimore. I was beside myself! That was US Postal service.... sure that your package will be a delight and that will take the edge off the disappointment.... Please do not get arrested this morning.. ! I'm sure sorry that it happened the way it did though xoxo
GOOD MORNING... Thanks for the reminder of ISS Flyovers, Margy. We love to stand outside and wait for it...like looking for a friend coming for a visit:) 24th will allow us two possible visits: 9:33 pm and 11:13 pm. I can't handle the Middle of the Night ones!
Wanda I figured there would be pictures, looking forward especially to any of you and Gene and those T-shirts... don't mean to rush you... I guess, you have spoiled us !
Best wishes for a good Monday, everyone...
sleep time here... forget that there is an adult in the nest !
I am hearing Palmer, perhaps up in her Home Tree, letting everyone and everything know she is there! Hope she does some flyovers in our neighborhood, as did Hidey, last year. It was a joy to hear her calling as I was working in the garden...nearly every day for a week or so:)
Welcome back Lori... wow, I'd have had to bail with all that squealing too that was great..."don't hardly think" there is room there for the three of them anymore at the same time
did seem that she might have circled out and come back in for a "smooth landing" as Kickngbird suggested after watching Paula's video...
Guess what? I have the live cam this morning and it came on just in time to see Lib tempting Palmer into the nest with a fish. Palmer took the bait. A somewhat kurflunk landing but still a lovely sight on the first day of summer.
Margy, sleep well and am glad you are on a "normal" schedule for awhile.
Off for coffee to sip while watching our very noisy eaglet.
Isn't just the biggest blessing that Palmer is spending so much time in the nest. I think Hidey only came back a few times and I never go to see him after he fledged, so this is so special with Palmer. :)
Good 1st day of SUMMMER morning! Gonna be a hot one here. Saw our parents both in nest....and next time I looked, there was Palmer! Not terribly noisy yet, LOL! Rally at L-O-L----short-lived, tho', unless she eats today. Peter says 4 days w/o food/hydration is the limit.... :( Y7 still feeding chicks.
Don't know if you've had a chance to check Loch of Lowes, but Isla is doing much better!
she is up flapping her wings and walking around the nest! She is still unsteady, but very much improved. Now she needs some food. Not sure what is happening with her eyes, tho.
Good Monday Morning in Eagle Land Judie, Lori, Margy,Wanda (hearing our Palmer), Hedgie, Paula, and watchers.
Wanda you hearing Palmer at your house while working in the garden. Are you saying our sweet, dearly, young growing eaglet has a BIG MOUTH lmbo
I too am excited to see your pics Wanda.
Thank you all for you concerns about the package. Decided not to in today and make a fuss. "Something might happen to the package in Commerce City,Co. before she can get there to pick it up. Once she has told me she has the package. I will then be at where I mailed it off from Rt.11 near Food Lion.
Get Palmer is eating well and flying and hopefully one day will come in with a fish stuck to HER talon.
Thanks Steve for the great pictures. Don't know if your stuck in the place you was staying at during the Bluegrass Festival or at an airport. Sorry for the "I can't go anywhere situation". Hope you can soon move on to your next destination.
ARGH........this day has not started well. TOilet didn't want to stop runnning----think I finally got that taken care of. Then Miss Cinnamon decided she couldn't wait to go out (she had already been out once!) while I was busy with it and pooped on the carpet. Got a tissue to pick it up---needed more...she grabbed the tissue and proceeded to eat it while distributing the poop all over the LR and sunroom. CALGON---take me away. Grrrrr.
Good morning! I am so excited, I have a full week ahead of me with nothing scheduled! Yea!
Yesterday was fun, but strange. Missed our Joseph! Jacob also did not know what to do without is brother. LOL However, he spent most of the time on the computer doing Jump Start. He looks so cute too. He got his hair cut Saturday after I left. He looks so much older!
Laurel forgot his PJ's. So he and Grandaddy went to pick out a t-shirt. He selected a Dallas Cowboy jersey. His daddy groaned and we all laughed. Got some cute pictures.
Oh, Lynn! Your day has NOT started out well. Sorry!
Annie is doing better, however we still have to give her meds. She does not trust us anymore and runs away. That is sad, very sad. We are seriously considering the shot treatment that is sooooo expensive. It is a gamble. Pills add up over the years if she lives longer. Also, we can not expect the kennel to give her meds twice a day. It is not an easy task. And, we are going to be gone 5 or 6 weeks this fall. Oh, dear, what to do????
As we wait for Palmer's return. I think of fishing lessons. Palmer trying to soar the skies with Liberty and Belle (maybe one of them). She could be soaring the skies by herself too. I believe she has gotten good at her landing. Nothing like I saw that one day lol
Lolly, I strongly recommend that you go ahead and get the shot for Annie. You don't want an elderly cat traumatized repeatedly and angry at you. That's no fun for anyone.
Oh Lynn, what a very unpleasant morning you have had. I am sorry. Bad Cinnamon! Bad toilet!
Lolly, enjoy some time to relax and let the days take you where they will this week. Yes, some pictures of Jacob if you have them, please. So sorry about Annie being fearful. I know that feeling all too well. Would Laurel be able to help out while you and Jack are away? Maybe a neighbor who is good with cats?
I just checked LOL and Isla seems almost normal. She is upright, looking around, preening, with the chicks near. I read the earlier report so am wondering what might have happened. Did I miss something?
Lynn, LOL report indicates they give Isla about 24 hours as a bird her size would survive without food and fluid for about four days. They do admit that she is looking more alert. That's why when I checked a few minutes ago, I couldn't believe she looks almost like her old self. How I wish this would be a recovery. Maybe ospreys can get sick if they eat a sick fish?
Good Morning All! Reading all of your comments and enjoying the details of the morning! I see the MT nest and would love to be watching whenever Palmer flies in with a fish in her talons.
I actually ventured to LOL. I just do not want to witness something so sad. Would love to see her fed!
We are going to inquire about the shot. Lynne mentioned though that it is around $1200. That is a lot of money! However, right now her meds are $30 a month. But if half a pill twice a day is not enough, it will go to $60 a month. Then it starts to add up fast. And, we do hate that she is so fearful of us. Jack is grinding up the pill and dissolving it in sugar water and gives it in a dropper. That is better.
Then there is the question...just like humans. It is all about quality of life.
It is funny. Have been retired 10 years now. Took an early retirement. However, I still feel guilty when I am sitting down during the day and not up and doing something productive.
I don't have anything exciting to report Judie. Maybe I'll walk out to retrieve the mail and I'll probably let the cats in and out a lot today. Boring....... On the flip side I have the house to myself most of the day as hubby is donating blood and then off for a haircut. Needless to say his schedule is more impressive then mine. But I sure am not complaining about being inside in the AC on this first hot day of summer.........
I had been watching the LOL chicks being fed and seeing how Isla is sitting up and alert - there may be some hope for her. I sure hope so. She didn't eat anything yet
I hear someone being clumsy up at our mic... Maybe fishing school is over for the morning........
I hope Chrissy is watching the LOL cam now. Isla looks, shall I say okay! She seems to be more alert - at least she is walking around the nest, flapping wings a little, head has been up for quite a while. I hope these are all good signs that she will make it.
I'm feeling so sad for Isla...like Fiona said, if she has had a stroke, she may not be able to remind herself to eat. Her devotion to her little chicks is unbelievable! Praying for quick recovery or quick death (I think I'm aloud to pray for that)
Will be at GG's the rest of the day. Have a great afternoon♥
Judie, it's only a matter of time with Isla, as Chrissy calls her. Lady on their site. They say she has not opened her eyes. Today is allegedly the last day she can last without hydration. They really seem to be leaning toward a stroke---don't know how they can tell. I'm glad that we encourage everyone to call our birds by our names. There are so many names bandied about at the Loch that it's hard to know who they're talking about. Someone calls Y7 Frank. See a reference to Eric which is apparently good ol' Angus who did not return with Isla this year.

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 400 of 542 Newer› Newest»I think an adult is hesitant about coming to the nest and is at the cam making noise.
I got the SPLIT.
A Frosty sounds pretty good right now. I may have to settle for a cup of coffee.
Isn't it yummy, BEagle?? Lolly has good recipes!
Piglet---peaglet....we all know that she is a piggish eaglet!! So any term that describes that is good!!
I could hear that last set all the way downstairs!
Palmer is braying again.
She sure is, Lynn
Hawg eagle.
I have looked and looked at the translate tab. Can't find "eaglet translation" closest I find is Yiddish. lmbo
Eaglut.
No translation for eagle-speak, Dana!!!! But think we all know what she means! LMBO!
Thanks, Dana, for your kind comments on the picture of the ring.
Presently listening to a squealing eaglet and a purring cat. They are asking for the same thing. Loud purring at this time of the day is stage one of begging for food.
I am two hours late feeding the kitty, but then we started the day late. He is beginning to adjust to the summer schedule.
eaglebucket
Loch of lowes back on, but dark there now. They sure do have short nights.
I like eaglut, too!
I was noticing Palmer blinking. Hadn't really noticed that before.
Palmer sure is noisy tonight!
It is approx. 60 degrees at Loch of Lowes and here is sunrise/sunset info for Mon.--Sunrise:4:21 AM
Sunset:10:05 PM They are 5 hours ahead of us.
I think a parent is right above the cam somewhere.
Parent just returned.
Palmer is taking possession of the nest and anything in it.
Parent is already gone.
My, my, what a fuss bucket.
Maybe Palmer will feed Belle. : )
They hear that motorcycle.
I may be wrong. That could very well be Lib.
I still can't tell Belle and Lib apart.
Maybe I can learn to distinguish them this summer.
If Belle would come along side Lib and stay a few minutes, we might be able to make some distinctions.
they have taught her well!
Whoa. Look at that. Throwing her weight around.
I have never seen it this bad yet.
Palmer ain't feeding nobody but herself, but she just got tricked.
But recovered.
Daughter won't answer my calls or text because I know she is afraid to tell me the "package" didn't get there by UPS. She knows I'll cry because she has been crying.
I have tracked it and something is very wrong. I have written down my ID and password but they won't work.
Damn I am p---ed!!!!!!!
She fusses at them when they come in and cries when they're gone.
Eagle cursing.
Maybe she will feel better after that poop shoot.
GOOD EVENING...
Back from Interstate Insanity:)
Lots of traffic out there, last night and today!
Oh, is this the package with the hat, Dana? I have missed something. Sorry it hasn't gotten there.
You mention they trained her well.
These must be the qualities of a good eagle.
She is making an A+
It does sound like a good sign, Wanda.
She's gotten herself all overheated. Now she is panting.
I thought she dragged the fish over to the far tree. Is it under her now?
Wonder how much is instinct and how much is taught? I am thinking of eaglets like Noah. They have to learn to take care of themselves, but it is obvious that Belle and Lib are giving Palmer practice.
I'll be back after I try to find something out about this package that was mailed6/14 to get there 6/20 by UPS. IT IS LOST!!!!!
Shirley, do you think Judie would have a differing opinion...like, she is getting tired of us and doesn't want us to stay so long?;)
Looks like Palmer is going to stay the night
DANA...WHAT IS LOST?!
Is it that table? Mercy, I hope not!
Aww Dana, sorry your package has not been delivered yet!
I certainly hope that Dana gets things straitened out. What disappointing news.
Have you ever heard the phrase.
Anyone who points a finger at you is pointing more fingers at themselves? (or something like that).
May I ask what the suggestion was for making coffee?
BEagle, something was stuck in the opening that the water drips from as it goes into the filter. Cleaned it out and worked fine after that:)
Shirley, as I recall, Jo heard voices one day...don't remember where:)
There have been times that I, lying in bed at night, could hear out TV, as though it was on very, very low. Whaaaaat?
OH. I see. I thought you might be referring to another alternative to making coffee!
Wanda, maybe it was someone else's tv??
Or you both need a padded cell, lol
Oh, oh, I see spidey.
BBL
BEagle I just made a cup of coffee BUT 2 hrs ago I did enjoy a Frosty!
Glad you and Gene had a fun day! Glad your shirts said Wild & Wonderful and NOT that new saying they were going to have for WV - I can't remember it right now but it was yuck. Did all your brownies get eaten?
What is Palmer doing? Never seen her in that position.
Looks like Palmer fell forward and went boom....... Any idea?
I remember we had a conversation before about voices coming from a device--was it computer speakers? We decided it was because there was a nearby broadcasting station and the signal was coming through because it was so near, something like that.
Wanda, glad GG is feeling good enough to tell you to go home!
Palmer is panting. I have seen her in other odd positions, but this one is new.
:) PAULA.
Do you all think Palmer is comfy?
Judi do you have the still cam and can you see the position she is in over there at 3:00?
Dana do you have the tracking # of your package and can you track it on the UPS site? Is that how you know it is lost (not delivered)
I think GG had a hot date and didn't want you hanging around lol
Paula, we have no near-by neighbors! Padded Cells may be in our future;)
JO, I'm pleased to say that our Brownies were a big hit with adults and children, alike. Kids especially loved having pop corn at 8 o'clock in the morning...a novelty for them:) I think there were enough for the last shift of the day to put out.
Today's video is ready...
http://eagletmomsters.blogspot.com/
I saw her with her tail end hanging over the edge...guess it wasn't comfy, she's laying all the way in the nest now
OH, speaking of Hot Dates, when we were at my aunt's viewing, an old school mate of GG's was there and was asking around if anyone had seen Edith (they were sweet on each other, way back then). Oh, what a sweet reunion it was! Gene snapped a picture, but I don't recall seeing it.
That video is priceless.
Palmer just got up and moved to the 1 spot
Nice sunset at WE.
Thanks, Paula, for taking the time to make that video. Smiled all the way through...she is a beast:) (just like her Mama taught her).
Loved that video Paula - Palmer's true self! I sent you an email from you spot about and idea for new merchandise if possible. Hope so!
Jo, that other motto was Open for Business!!! Gov got so much flack over that....thank goodness he changed it back to Wild and Wonderful!!
I SECOND THAT, LYNN!
STUPID Governor!
All the eaglets at TH, WE, and PH are on their nests.
I suppose the TH may try flying out in the morning.
One of the seasoned chatters said they will fly off the rock and also an adult will swoop the nest at that time.
I just might be able to catch that if I get up early enough.
Setting: Somewhere on the banks of the Potomac River.
Belle: Lib, we need to have
a nice, peaceful dinner,
just the two of us.
Lib: Yeah. Tell you what. I'll
take a couple of fish to
the kid. That will keep
her occupied, and we can
have a nice, romantic
dinner down here by the
river.
Thanks, Paula! Good video.
That is awful Dana. To think that they can't use an address because the machine kicks it out?
Shirley. That was excellent. You can even get a picture of it with that.
Ho ho ho he he (snort). :D :D
You are funny Shirley.
I can just picture the two of them enjoying a peaceful fish dinner, too, BEagle. They have earned a little peace.
Yes, like they have become so weary with their sibling.
OH, I put one more video on the
EM blog.
Paula video was great. If you have one on Hidey. We need to see if Hidey was as much of a screamer lol
Leaving for tonight
Prayers for those that need them
God Bless Our Fathers
Love it Shirley!!
And BEagle's snorting, too!!
Shirley and all - It is a stange sight after Palmer really leaves to see Belle and Liberty in their nest alone! Really special.
I don't recall if Hidey was that loud...would have to meander through some older videos...
Hidey was very loud.
I didn't realize that Steve was stranded in CO !! What a sight - I would enjoy that!
Steve has posted 2 updated pics on the home page of our blog.
Whoo Hoo! I hadn't seen them until now.
Maybe all of you others have already seen and commented on them......
I didn't see the news from Steve, either, Jo.I do not know how I could have missed it.
That is beautiful scenery, isn't it?
Good night!!
Steve said 'update' I think he may have added a short time ago.
Beautiful place and I bet the music is great.
I started watching the cam right before Hidey fledged. I didn't watch as much as I have Palmer though.
I thought that Hidey was a mean spirited bird. Now don't laugh too hard because I had no knowledge of eagles.
Well, I kept thinking of Hidey when Palmer was smaller, and I thought that Palmer would grow up to be a sweet eagle and not fussy like Hidey.
WOW. Palmer is worse.
Those are nice Colorado pictures.
Thank you for pointing them out Jo.
No, I hadn't seen that
Steve was waiting on a canceled flight...saw the pics on FB though. Very pretty.
Paula, thank you so much for the videos of Palmer. Now I know what everyone was talking about. Palmer is, indeed, a very fussy eaglet.
This is the most quietousness I have heard at the nest all day.
Thank you.
Goodnight everyone.
Night all!
God bless you all. He loves you.
Hitting the hay,
See ya'll tomorrow!
Hugs to all ♥
think I've missed a few folks
Hope sleep is good,
summer starts tomorrow
bright and early...
Wanda, sounds like a great adventure at the Welcome Center..
hope to see some pictures maybe?
loved the GG comment....
sorry to read of the package fiasco Dana
I rely on the US postal service, generally, very reliable...
Prayers and peace.
hoe that little cat will be okay, Loretta...
Loch of the Lowe's is back up, Isla and chicks sacked out before sunrise
you and me Lynn..checking on the little feather family
time to head out soon
last month on this routine, go to dayshift, five, 8 hour days in July, at least for one month
God Bless Us, Every one
xo ♥
Update on Lily the Black Bear....
Link to update
Loretta - Hope the calico comes back or makes it on her own. Be great to catch her and have her/him neutered.
Have a good shift at work, Margy.
Good night to all who have gone back their hallways.........
Oh Well, Scarlet says, "Tomorrow is another day."
Pleasant Dreams to All, ;>)
Paula - Thanks so much for the great video!
KB - I can't say what took Palmer so long to come into the nest after Lib and the fish were there. It very well could be like you say.
I have overstayed my curfew! lol
Time to head back the hallway.. That
late nap I sneaked is going to take its toll on my sleeping.
Good Night All
Prayers For All
Hugs To All ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Whoops!
HELLO SUMMER
Yes, Margy...I do have lots of photos of the Safety Break. Just need to find the time to get them on here:)
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Man, it took me forever to read the blog. I fell asleep, then went and showerd and then read more of the blog. Need to get to bed!
Enjoyed the video, Paula.
Going to bed now. Will tell you about my day tomorrow. We had a great day.
Nite all! Sweet dreams!
Hi, Everyone,
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! (You too, Lib!)
and
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, LOLLY & JACK!
Palmer TOOK OFF AGAIN at 5:41.
She does it with such ease - flying out the right side of the next (as we look at it) in the 3 oclock position.
It just makes my day every day I check in on her and she's still in the nest! Thanks for hanging out with all you love you Palmer!
DANA:
Sorry about your package. I've had problems like that many times and it seems to work best when you deal with the vendor who shipped it. They know packages get lost all the time. Many times, Amazon and Coldwater Creek will just ship out your same order again at no charge and tell you to return the lost package if it ever shows up - they never do. Good Luck.
Okay, it's official...it's Summer
and the longest "daylight" day of the year also I think
Get those squirt guns, water blasters and water balloons ready!
Good Morning Eagle Pals
Fantastic videos Paula
thanks..!
Nice, somewhat encouraging update on Isla...
Maybe all the Osprayers are working...
I think the Feather family is waiting for a morning snack
if I had to get stranded somewhere, a Bluegrass festival in Colorado would suit me just fine...
neat pictures, Steve
I will have to Google to see what musicians were there
guess you were stranded at the airport though :(
Getting a double dose of ISS hereabouts on the 23rd, and a Triple Dose on the 24th...
hope some of the rest of you will also....put in YOUR zip code and see
ISS Flyovers
Dear Dana,
last year my special full-family
70th birthday package for my brother Fred was mailed in plenty of time to get to its destination in Naples...but, it stopped in Tampa, took a U-turn and spent an extra day or two in Baltimore. I was beside myself!
That was US Postal service....
sure that your package will be a delight and that will take the edge off the disappointment....
Please do not get arrested this morning.. ! I'm sure sorry that it happened the way it did though
xoxo
seeing an empty nest at NCTC at this time
read the earlier take-off report ☺
glad you got to see that Lori
glad the kid is out and about...
GOOD MORNING...
Thanks for the reminder of ISS Flyovers, Margy. We love to stand outside and wait for it...like looking for a friend coming for a visit:)
24th will allow us two possible visits: 9:33 pm and 11:13 pm. I can't handle the Middle of the Night ones!
Wanda
I figured there would be pictures, looking forward especially to any of you and Gene and those T-shirts...
don't mean to rush you...
I guess, you have spoiled us !
Best wishes for a good Monday, everyone...
sleep time here...
forget that there is an adult in the nest !
this could be good....
well I heard Palmer but the adult bailed...
hmmmmm
and mowing going on too
Good Morning Wanda ☺ and the Captain when the coffee is ready
Maybe that was the Let's Go Fishing departure...
and get away from this awful noise!
I am hearing Palmer, perhaps up in her Home Tree, letting everyone and everything know she is there!
Hope she does some flyovers in our neighborhood, as did Hidey, last year. It was a joy to hear her calling as I was working in the garden...nearly every day for a week or so:)
Rest well and looong, Margy♥
nope not so...two out of three waiting on the baby
one flies out
Hi Magpie and Wanda! Beautiful morning to you both.
She's already back in the nest with the food! Too funny!
Welcome back Lori...
wow, I'd have had to bail with all that squealing too
that was great..."don't hardly think" there is room there for the three of them anymore at the same time
did seem that she might have circled out and come back in for a "smooth landing" as Kickngbird suggested after watching Paula's video...
if the eaglet used a larynx instead of a syrinx for sound...think she would be pretty darn hoarse by now
got to dent the pillows now...
hate to leave this great company,
eagles AND people
ttfn xoxo
got a pretty good mantling picture, will add to the Momsters Photo Album
Good Night
Good morning Margy, Wanda, and Lori.
Yay Judie!
Summer Magic ☺
I still have the rest of this month with 12's..then a normal schedule...thanks for the well wishes...xo
okay bye
Happy to be here, Margy... Hi Judie!
Hey Hedgie - I looked and she's gone again.
What's this about Palmer not eating?
Good Morning!
I see Palmer is off to fishing school for today!
Don't know if you've had a chance to check Loch of Lowes, but Isla is doing much better!
she is up flapping her wings and walking around the nest! She is still unsteady, but very much improved. Now she needs some food. Not sure what is happening with her eyes, tho.
Lori
different nest, Ospreys...Scotland...the Mother Osprey, is ill.
I sent you an email..
you will probably get many answers here...
Thanks Mags!
Good morning Paula!
So Palmer is enjoying the Lib & Belle Cafe. I wish we could see her learning to fish! Wouldn't that be awesome.
Wanda, you were so lucky to be able to hear her while you were gardening.
I hear something moving around at the cam area. Wonder who????
Good Monday Morning in Eagle Land Lolly.
Hope you put the pictures on your blog. Bet that was so cute.
Hedgie glad you are a "tool lady" like me. ( :
As we wait for Palmer's return. I think of fishing lessons. Palmer trying to soar the skies with Liberty and Belle (maybe one of them). She could be soaring the skies by herself too. I believe she has gotten good at her landing. Nothing like I saw that one day lol
So cool that Loch cam swivels for those panoramic shots! Can't get their blog up for some reason.
Well, off to chores. BBL
Good morning, Jo! And, how are you this fine day?
It is funny. Have been retired 10 years now. Took an early retirement. However, I still feel guilty when I am sitting down during the day and not up and doing something productive.
Off now to do my walking. It has been a bit iffy lately. Need to get back to it.
Have a great day!
Oh Lolly, I feel bad when I am doing nothing much in the summer -- NOT!!! Enjoy your walking.
Good morning, Mema Jo. What's on your agenda today, if I may be so nosy?
Newspaper article about Isla AKA Lady:
Loch article
Have a great afternoon♥
ps Saftey Break pics on Just For Fun:)
Is someone coming to the nest... Hear some noise up there.......
How long does your LOL cam stay on before you have to refresh..... Mine is not very long........ but is does come right back up......
Steve must still be stranded in beautiful CO as there isn't a new thread yet! I hope his weather is as great as ours on this 1st day of summer.
Taking a break for lunch.........
Jo, mine is cutting off after 10 mins. Until Sat. it would stay on until I shut it off.......maybe too many viewers now.
Good Monday Morning in Eagle Land
Mema Jo----I will 2nd that comment you made. ( :
Isla is sitting up and was flapping her wings and moving around. Her chicks are making soft little chirping sounds.
Nice pics, Wanda. Your church outreaches are truly God-sent!
Sorry . . . good afternoon. I have been sleeping and lurking and sleeping and lurking. Had trouble sleeping last night.
