No, Bob, haven' looked at the a.m. rag yet, but am heading there now...to see it, thanks for the heads-up. I had written to some of the people involved with watching George about a month ago, and they had seen him with the "other woman".

NE cam quaility has gotten really poor, was nicer earlier....can't tell what is going on there...can't seem to get comfy on the eggs. But haven't seen anything under the eagle yet, either, eggs or chicks.....

Can someome tell me the names of the eagles at Norfolk Botanical?
I THINK I just saw a brand new chick in the NE nest. Mom hadn't settled for more than 30 seconds at a time, just kept checking what was under her, then she moved off for just a moment and I think the top "egg" has turned into a chick, and I think I saw it move a little. The picture is so small I can't be sure, tho.
Yes KateAZ I saw it too. Don't think its quite all the wayout of the shell yet, but definite movement going on and Dad had just brought lots of fresh warm grass within a minute of seeing that egg wiggling and half at least hatched. Good luck trying to watch the site today, its a struggle to get in. I have a video started that I hope to be able to get the Finishing touch on as the day proceeds.

My, My, My.... First there is the (three some) going on in Catalina and now I read we have a floozie home wrecker on the east coast. Arent there enough men to go around? Tisk, tisk, tisk, How racy. Good Morning all and what a beautiful day. Every time I start typing I get a call from one of my kids wanting to know what to bring for the picnic tomorrow. I have one going down the isles of Sams club with his cell phone and shopping for me and another cooking and calling for instructions. Here I sit reading your blogs and visiting. What a life. I feel very blessed this morning. I got my info on my Alaska cruise last night and I read where there is a rehabilitation center for eagles and others in Sitka. I will be there for a whole day and I'm making arrangements for a private visit. I'm thrilled.Paula I wanted a sweatshirt to wear there. And yes Jo I will sign up as soon as I can. Hugs.

MIts, I thought it looked like a chick too, but I was on the 45k connection...not as clear as the 128 connection...Dad did bring a nice fish for the new baby!
Dad brought a humongeous fish for the little one, yeah, pic is not great, but better than nothing.

I emailed NE about what we think (know)we see. The due date for hatching was yesterday the 4th. I will let you know when I get a response of confirmation. For the longest time I couldn't get on due to 'all lines were busy'.

Sometimes the 45k is easier to get onto than the 128k at Barton's Cove.
Mitts I can do that at home but I'm careful about how much I put on the computer at work. I clean it every night before I go home.I've been here 18 years and I dont want to cause waves.In a company this big your just a number. Thanks so much for your help.

Watching new life enter this world on Good Friday in its own way is as neat as watching our Spunky fledge on Flag Day....these eagles know more about somethings than we ever thought they did....JMHO

Beth Most nest don't name the adult eagles or the eaglets. Norfolk has never mentioned adult names nor have they had any contest for eaglet names. Blackwater always has a contest for their eaglets' names - it is going on now. Biologists never name them - but we in Shepherdstown have Belle and Liberty - DC had George & Martha(deceased), Kent has Star and Spirit. Names are because of HUMAN BEINGS becoming involved.

My Heavens, all I did was go to the dentist and everyting happened. Remind me to be a dentist in my next life or marry one. I may have to take out a second to pay for it all. Now I have to go to a specialist. All of this from a cracked cap.Oh well, the day isnt over.
