Happy Easter Egg To All Sorry I just missed a quick trip made to our nest by our eagles. Morning Sharon and Paula. Have not read previous thread to see who else is an early bird. Getting ready for Mass and then family.
Just was reading forum at Channel Islands....lots of exciting news over there. I don't know how to cut and past, but I'm sure Paula, will bring us up to speed on those happenings.
Well, we had yet another historic event on Catalina Island. On or about 3 p.m. today (Saturday) the Seal Rocks pair hatched out the first of the two eggs that are in the nest!! We were actually on hand to record some good video of the chick about half way out of the shell and I am sure Pete will get that posted soon. While this pair has reared a number of fostered chicks, this is obviously the first they have seen come out of an egg (mom looked like she wanted to feed it while it was still coming out of the egg). Hopefully we will see the other eggs hatch out tomorrow or the day after.
In other news, six of the seven eggs we removed from nests have now hatched out and the seventh has broken a good sized hole in the egg. Tomorrow (Easter) we will foster three of the chicks into the West End nest. Between 2-4pst.
I'm sure they will take video of the event, as I am sure the website will be overwhelmed w/ people trying to view the event.
Also, if you didn't see it this morning, they had a segment on the Weekend Today show about the Catalina hatching. It is also supposed to be on the NBC evening news, I believe tonight.
Back from Mass - wall to wall church goers! Beautiful mass - Great news Paula from Catalina I bet Dianna is going to love these foster chicks! Didn't think they would place 3 back - maybe only 2. However, with all this natural hatching they could have place all 5 back to WE!
does anyone know if we are going to get the real cam up and running? Maybe if they have more eggs and babies, they will be kind enough to let us in on the live cam.
Ham in oven....I really need to sign off no matter if an eagle comes to the nest or not. Every time I say that I need to go - in flies another one. So here I go - check out the nest!!!
Not now. What makes me upset, is that this year I have the fast speed so I could see the live cam. Oh well, the 30 second refresh is better than nothing at all.
My son is leaving to go home to Winchester, Va. early tomorrow, so I had better call it a night. Missed the eagles earlier, but will be watching tomorrow. Thanks Paula for all that you do.
Good evening everybody. Well, I have made it through my first Easter without Donna. Had a good dinner with family but she was sorely missed, her and Daddy! Really thankful for the family I still have!!
Good Easter Monday, Eagle Land. Hope all had a wonderful Easter and weekend. Not to bad out tonight, 32° at my house, 35° here, but no wind. Wore my down coat this morning, don't care how it looks, it's just plain too cold to be in jackets! Beautiful half moon, totally orange and huge! But have to say, farther down here (and later it got), moon is going from bright orange to bright white. Still beautiful. Very low in the sky, though.
Haven't read the blogs, but did you all see the TODAY show yesterday? They had the video of Dr Sharp feeding the eaglet out west, and saying how the eagle was making a comeback, etc. Had him on, said he's been waiting 10 years for this, but the IWS has been waiting for 25 years. But I was thirlled to see it!!! Same video we all saw, think Paula had it posted.
May try to read yesterday's blog if I have time. We'll see. BW eaglets sleeping, no parent, but there is something reflecting off the cam, showing white, don't know what it is. Not in the nest, off to the right. Maybe I'll see when daylight arrives. Nobody home in osprey nest, nobody home in our nest. Guess we didn't get an Easter egg. Probably a good thing, now, poor guy would be 2 months behind in development if laid now. Not sure how that would work for the eaglet come winter. He'd be so young compared to the other eaglets born this year. Sure hope Lib and Belle do make an appearance in their home anyway! It's still their home. Ok, all have a great eagle day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Good morning, Sharon. Guess it did, you posted. I had to go in to Google and recreate my account. Same email addr, same passwd, but this time it let me post. Love Google mail and search, hate Google blog!!!
Well Belle got up on the launching pad like she was gonna leave, Lib squaked at her, sot then he left. She left shortly thereafter. I have pics, will send around. One BW chick looks almost black now. Sod is multiplying in the osprey nest! PA falcon on her eggs.
Good morning Sharon and Suzanne! How did I ever think that I could be the early bird this morning. My son just left for Winchester after spending the Easter weekend with us, and I thought that if I got right on while I was awake, I might just be the first one on. Hahahaha
Morning, Carolinabeachmom. Unfortunately, my duty day starts at 4, so I'm usually the first one here. Unless someone has stayed up all night. Nice to see our kids back, isn't it?
I feel so fortunate to be able to see them back in the nest. Still hoping that they give us at least one baby. No school this week, so I'll be able to watch more.
Carolinabeachmom did you see the pic Jim sent around yesterday of the BW chicks and parent? There were 5 huge fish all lined up for their Easter breakfast! Only leftovers now, and not many of them.
LOL, well, nobody said you have to grow up!!! Get old, maybe, but not grow up! I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up... Do you mind if I call you Candy? Much easier to type!!
Thanks so much for the beautiful pics of Liberty and Belle this morning on the nest, And that BW nest was sure full of a big Easter breakfast for the eaglets. Someone was very busy that morning, diving into the cold water to bring home the "bacon"!
And yes, Candy will be fine. I feel like I know most of you as my class watched all last year. I kept one computer going all the time. We really enjoyed it.
LOL, they sure were! Good fishin' yesterday. You're welcome for the pics. I usually send them around, and to Jo to put in the momsters album, cause not everybody is up at that hour watching them.
BW parent back with more fresh fish! Chicks are sleeping, parent is eating. Wow, twice today that has happened. Could it be the chicks finally got full for once????
Both parents back and eating while the chicks are sleeping. Twice today, that's awesome! Little porkers are finally full!!! May be the first day since they were born they're actually full!
Right, Candy, I remember reading your posts. I don't get to talk to the evening people, only the AM crowd. Not connected at home, so can't watch after work, and my work day is over at noonish.
Last year, I had the same problem, but couldn't blog at school. Didn't blog much last year as I was a little hesitant, and couldn't see everything live like I can with the faster hookup we have at home this year. It is soooo much more fun to watch when it is live and moving.
Norfolk is back on. I like the way they can move their camera and pan in and out. Right now Mom and Dad eagle are sitting on a branch conversing while the "children" sleep. They are probably saying to eachother, "You wake them, you are in charge of them" So both are staying out of the nest to let them sleep. :)
BW chicks are getting put under their grass blanket. Almost getting daylight in Kent. Oh, there goes another beakful of grass on the chicks! Too funny. One moved out of the way, other chick is covered.
Good Morning!!!! Suzanne, I see you have another early bird to chat with. Candy, glad you'll have some extra time this week. I had a super busy weekend with company, and now back at work today. I'll peek in whenever I can. Thanks for all you early morning comments.
oh man, just had to create a new account to post this. ugh!
Morning, Sunny. I had to do the same thing. In fact, think you'll find out if you leave this page for any reason, you will have to create another new account to get back and post. Pain in the posterior!!!

Morning Sharon and Paula. Have not read previous thread to see who else is an early bird. Getting ready for Mass and then family.
Have a Blessed Easter
Love those wabbits, Paula - WOW One just blinked at me...How cool is is on Easter Morning to have a wabbit look you straight in the eye and blink!
BW eagles still eating
Hi There Mits, Jim and Megan. Just saw you over on the previous thread and I may be gone by the time you come over. Sharon I got the pics up from yesterday that you sent.
MOrning Jo - Just posted some pics on Momsters - Jim caught them at the nest early this morning....just put pics up.
Checked email - Jim I'll work on the early morning pics of our nest later tonight. Thanks.
Hi, again, back from Mass...snowing in CO....poor eagle there.
Paula, love the winking rabbits.
Just was reading forum at Channel Islands....lots of exciting news over there. I don't know how to cut and past, but I'm sure Paula, will bring us up to speed on those happenings.

THANK YOU, PAULA:)
That is exciting and historic news you gave us, Paula. Chicks being hatched naturally on Catalina again...wonder about WE and TH nests next year.
Happy Easter, everyone.
Jim
Back from Mass - wall to wall church goers! Beautiful mass -
Great news Paula from Catalina I bet Dianna is going to love these foster chicks! Didn't think they would place 3 back - maybe only 2. However, with all this natural hatching they could have place all 5 back to WE!
Company arriving - See ya!
EAGLE ALERT
BOTH IN NEST
Eagle ALERT!!!!!!!!
Looks like Lib brought Belle an Easter fishie
Weagles!!
Pic sorta freezing...hope it stays on today
GLAD YOU SAID THAT - IT DID FREEZE YESTERDAY ALSO FOR ABOUT 6 MINUTES
Still there.
She is still eating...they are also looking around
I have my 5yr old great-granddaughter beside me. She is assisting me. Samantha is her name and she is from New York
Happy Easter Samantha. Hope you enjoy your visit and watching the eagles.
Is Belle the light one or the dark one?
I think Belle is the one on the left.
Is that one our famous turtle shells next to Belle in the nest?
Jim
My picture is bad, can't tell what it is.
Also, does anyone know why they are putting all those sticks in the launch pad area? Looks like the nest is actually getting smaller.
Jim
Baby gate?
Hope she gives us and Easter egg...gotta go for now.
This is the longest I have gotten to see them in the past couple of weeks.
Is yours stuck at 1:46??
Been there almost an hour, huh?
Mine is not stuck!
Lib still there, sitting at noon.
My cam is also working..don't know why it wouldn't refresh for a while.
This long visit must be significant, but I do not know what it means...does anyone else know?
Jim
I think that Lib wants Belle to get back to the nest and do her thing!!
Barbara I know it's been a hour since you asked but here's your answer... Males are darker Females have a brownish cast to them..
Baby Gate is a very good response-I can't imagine what all those sticks are for at the launch site!
Thanks Jo. Lib is sure patient -- I hope he knows something!!!
Jim My cam time and real time have 6 min difference. Cam did freeze up last evening...
MT Nest
Thanks for the info, all.
Liberty has left now too and I also need to get going...enjoy your Easter, everyone.
BW is feeding the chicks, and the daddy brought in yet another fish just now.
Jim
Mine has a 3 minute difference between cam and my computer clock.
Anybody know if they have silver Crappies in the BW area? Many of the fish this morning look like that species.
Jim
Kent showing 2 normal eggs.
Might be perch, they should start running soon if they haven't already.
Whatever it is, they have two of them. Little guys must really be hungry today.
I also must leave for now...More company coming and I have a ham to bake for the dinner.
Enjoy your Easter day
Happy Easter to you all! I see that our eagles checked out the nest this am.
Somebody is back in our nest!
EAGLE ALERT
ONE IN OUR NEST
I am going over to Mema's for dinner. LOL. We dont' have family around here so no use in cooking dinner for 2 of us.
They sure are hanging around the nest today. Maybe they are waiting on the Easter Bunny to drop off an egg.
LOOKS LIKE BELLE
SHE IS BACK TO EAT SOME MORE
Favorite place is under the cam
Carolina Beachmom I hope your eyes are feasting on seeing Belle!
Is the camera stuck again?
Never mind, it refreshed that time
I'm right here mema jo
Taking it all in. Don't you think that that egg cup looks big enough to hold about 10 eggs? Haha? I would just settle for one tho.
I just wish she ould sit in it and stay there.
does anyone know if we are going to get the real cam up and running? Maybe if they have more eggs and babies, they will be kind enough to let us in on the live cam.
Live cam is up in the air per Steve. Just keep trying it every now and then - it could be up!
Maybe he could set out eagle cam to refresh sooner then 30 secs...We may need to encourage that thought
Ham in oven....I really need to sign off no matter if an eagle comes to the nest or not. Every time I say that I need to go - in flies another one. So here I go - check out the nest!!!
The 5 second cam we had at the beginning was wonderful!
That would be a real improvement Sharon than what there is now. I'll have to check and see if the Live one is up yet.
Not now. What makes me upset, is that this year I have the fast speed so I could see the live cam. Oh well, the 30 second refresh is better than nothing at all.
4:45 pm MT nest
Jim - We do have crappies here, but what they are eating is probably menhaden or perch.
BW chicks are sleeping off the3-4 fish they had this afternoon. Little piggies.
6:08 MT nest.....full belly! :)
Just saw 2 eagles in the nest, but next refresh, they were gone...
West End Eagles now have 3 eaglets! The switch went well! :)
Guess there is an Easter Bunny somewhere!
That is great to hear that the West End eagles have had 3 little ones put back. Can't wait to watch them.
Calling it a good day!
Good Night All
Pleasant dreams of spring weather
Prayers for all being said
Good Morning, Suzanne

Ok, all have a great eagle day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Of course, I was signed in from yesterday so I did not have to enter my password this morning. Don't think I will sign out to test it though. :)
Good morning, Sharon. Guess it did, you posted. I had to go in to Google and recreate my account. Same email addr, same passwd, but this time it let me post. Love Google mail and search, hate Google blog!!!
Well, Suzanne, I see you made it on here. I am going back to bed now. BBL!
If you're logged in, better stay logged in. Jim was having the same problem last night!
Wow, we're up early! One in our nest!!!
Now on the perch, so it's probably Liberty!
BW chicks are also getting breakfast already. Not counting the fish leftover already in their nest.
Lib is still on perch looking around. Bloody eagle spirits haven't gone to bed yet, though!
Belle just joined Lib.
Awww, Lib is grooming Belle.
BW chicks sleeping again.
Osprey has arrived.
Well Belle got up on the launching pad like she was gonna leave, Lib squaked at her, sot then he left. She left shortly thereafter. I have pics, will send around.
One BW chick looks almost black now.
Sod is multiplying in the osprey nest!

Eagle Alert!!!!!
Belle's back!!!
BOTH BACK!!!
Now two eagles! Side by side. It is my lucky day.
Oh deer, now only one eagle.
Is Belle the lighter of the two?
Morning, Carolinabeachmom. Unfortunately, my duty day starts at 4, so I'm usually the first one here. Unless someone has stayed up all night.
Nice to see our kids back, isn't it?
I think Belle's a little darker, but she's also much bigger. That's Liberty in the nest now. When Belle comes back, she'll be much bigger than he is.
Carolinabeachmom, I have some pics I took this morning, if you want copies, post your email addr, and I'll send to you also.
I feel so fortunate to be able to see them back in the nest. Still hoping that they give us at least one baby. No school this week, so I'll be able to watch more.
I would love them. My address is Calicosmom@yahoo.com. Thanks so much.
Well, dang, Lib just left.
MT nest again, but I bet they will be back.
Sent pics from this morning around.
Both parents in BW nest with very black chicks.
One osprey on guard at their nest.
PA falcon looking at the cam.
Still dark in WA and Kent.
Well, the BW parents are eating while the chicks are sleeping. Will miracles never cease???
BW chicks look well taken care of with all of the fish laying around. :)
Norfolk babies are getting their breakfast too. Fish seems to be on the menu this morning.
Blackbirds are hanging out in our nest and on the tree.
Carolinabeachmom did you see the pic Jim sent around yesterday of the BW chicks and parent? There were 5 huge fish all lined up for their Easter breakfast! Only leftovers now, and not many of them.
Blackbirds gone.
I didn't see them, that must have been the left over fish that I saw this am when I checked in. At least the cool air keeps them fresh! :)
I sent you the pic, Carolinabeachmom. They ate good yesterday!
Thanks, Suzanne. My real name, if you can believe it is Candy. No wonder I have been in kindergarten as an assistant for 23 years. :)
LOL, well, nobody said you have to grow up!!! Get old, maybe, but not grow up! I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up...
Do you mind if I call you Candy? Much easier to type!!
One of the chicks is doing wing exercises. Well, they were.
Thanks so much for the beautiful pics of Liberty and Belle this morning on the nest, And that BW nest was sure full of a big Easter breakfast for the eaglets. Someone was very busy that morning, diving into the cold water to bring home the "bacon"!

BW parent back with more fresh fish! Chicks are sleeping, parent is eating. Wow, twice today that has happened. Could it be the chicks finally got full for once????
Yes the BW babies look like they are "out for the count". Mom and Dad now have time to have a bite.
I don't seem to be getting the Norfolk cam again. Will keep trying
Last year, I had the same problem, but couldn't blog at school. Didn't blog much last year as I was a little hesitant, and couldn't see everything live like I can with the faster hookup we have at home this year. It is soooo much more fun to watch when it is live and moving.
Dang, BW eagle cam not updating!
Never mind, just updated as soon as I hit post...
LOL, too funny, Candy. The BW chicks finally woke up too. Bet Lord and Lady BW were eating as quietly as they could!
It is going now at BW
Both BW chicks curled up into a big ball. Must be cold for them, I know it's still cold outside!
BW chicks are getting put under their grass blanket. Almost getting daylight in Kent. Oh, there goes another beakful of grass on the chicks! Too funny. One moved out of the way, other chick is covered.
Uh oh, osprey guard left, nest MT.
Time for mid-morning snack.
Can see dawn breaking at Kent, and a white head spot and tail spot.
Osprey guard back.
Foggy dawn in Kent.
Well, BW chicks had mid-morning snack, now it's nap time.
OH EAGLE ALERT@!!!!
Steve just started a new thread. Hop on over!
That's our Big Belle!
