Hi Sharon! Just back on old thread and see Dana got an answer from Steve already about our birds. They've been seen in area.
Konked out last night & blessed gal at Chelsea called in AM & said I didn't have to come to work today!!!!Want to wrap at least the gifts to be mailed. SB report....exterminator was at Park yesterday & I asked if they got calls about SBs. He said, "Yes, but there hasn't been a chemical approved yet by FDA for them. They are using what they have now, but probably not 100% effective against SBs."
Jo, you are right----whoever said wind wasn't blowing must be in a very protected area!!! Fierce here, still.....yet.....can hear the trees knocking together----scary!
Dana, glad you can track the flight! It's pretty neat!
Hi everyone. Back form running morning errands. Going to start packing the trunk with things OK to freeze like all those "clothes for warmer weather" :-) I hope. Snow coming in today and tomorrow. Camera is pretty well in its case and ready to head south. Eagles weren't co-operative yesterday but I do have a Glo's Glimpses to post before I head south. Mostly gulls but a couple of surprises.
Oh it said it would email me when flight started. No emails so I looked at the tracker. Flight is moving!!!!!! Around Kansas now. Lynn-Hedgie this is NEAT!
I don't leave until Sat. Only packing the trunk with things safe to freeze. Trying to beat the next snowstorm with a few trips to the car. Since it will be 5 degrees on Sat morning; we can't pack lots of things until the morning just before we leave. Will leave about 7:30 am on Sat. Stop overnight in Nashville area. And then Hopefully arrive at sons in Georgia about suppertime on Sunday.
Glo.....hope you had all the "things" checked on the car along with oil change, tire roation, etc.!!! Car won't know how to act as you get closer to warmth!!! When does your son arrive?
HedgieYes oil is changed tires rotated. Battery is only 2 years old. Seems to start OK. Heat could be lots better but son is great mechanic. I think heater will work better on return trip :-). He gets in about 4 pm Fri afternoon. Going to visit with a good buddy for a while Fri night. Then early to rise. Hi and cya later to neighbors in early am Sat and then off we will go.
Glo, I just have a feeling that this is a very smart decision for you this winter and I'm glad it's working out for you. After last year, I think we all need a break from cold and ice and snow and wind!! Gee, maybe I'll ask my cuz in AL if she would like a houseguest for a few months!!!!
Lynn sent me a link so I could watch daughter flying from Colorado. It is really NEAT! I knew Mits had sent something so Mema Jo could watch the Germany gang fly.
LOL Hedgie Well come on down. Yes it shows signs here of a long and very cold winter with lots of snow. It will certainly be easier weatherwise even though even the south is kind of cold for them at least right now. Dex and i will think its great. Well good enough anyway :-). It will also be the first time I have spent Christmas Day with any family for many many a year. Although my kids did pull off a wonderful Christmas Surprise about 10days ahead of Christmas like 3 years ago. There really aren't going to be lots of gift giving this year but sharing time together will in fact be a very special gift. I am very ready to go. Just chased a Hawk out of my tree as camera is packed AND well he/she needs to go find dinner somewhere else anyway. :-)
LOL, Lolly.....when I told you to slow down and rest, you said you couldn't!!!! So, I tried reverse psychology!
Glo, I'm fairly sure that the cold snap in the deep south will be relatively short-lived! You and Dex will be soaking up warmth and rays before you know it!
Yes, Dana, Glo's son is flying in and then driving bback down with Glo!
I see strange "spots" of some kind on our cam----is it just sun reflections????
Mai just had her first real leash lesson. It went fairly well. Short, as Lynne suggested....just about 3 minutes.
I am a happy camper. Got a new bundle of flour sack towels----and they are actually full size! Last time I bought some they were only halves! Only thing I have ever used! My Grams---and me when I was young at her knee---used to embroider a corner of them with flowers!!
Gene and I took off early this morning for Hagerstown, for breakfast and a day of shopping. It was very windy, still. I was trying to find an inexpensive gift for our Soup Kitchen helpers. There are 40 altogether, and that can be costly. A $5 gift can run us into $200...they are worth it, but, like most of us, money is tight and I didn't want to be show-off-ish! I ordered stickers with a picture of our church and lettering which reads SOUP KITCHEN at the top...then a picture of the church...and ANGEL. My intentions were to put the stickers on a tree ornament, but, as Gene pointed out to me, a round sticker on a round ornament will not work (it will wrinkle!) So, we set out to find an ornament that was flat or square. We found the perfect one, an acrylic star, which looks like crystal with a silver loop on it. 80¢ at Michael's, was $2.99! So, with the cost of the stickers, the gift will run about $1.50 ea.:) Found some pretty decorations for GG there, also and flowers for my Dad's vase. I always miss him so much at Christmas time. His last Christmas at home, before he died, he gave me $20 to buy GG something from him...told him I needed a little more, so he gave me $100:) I bout her a very pretty green velvet robe and gave it to him to hide (after wrapping it) so that he would remember where it was, so that he could give it to her on Christmas morning. When we got there later in the day, I asked GG what Pop got her and she said, Nothing! So, I asked Dad where he put the robe, and he couldn't remember. We spent quite a bit of time looking for it and I finally found it under his bed. Duh! I should have looked there first, but thought, nah, he wouldn't put it there!:) She has worn that robe nearly every day since he died. I have bought her 3 robes since that Christmas, but she has yet to wear them! Bless her heart♥
BTW, we came home through Shepherdstown and the Potomac River is only frozen around the sides...the middle is very accessible.
BTW, Capt. Father Gene is not sick. He had a sniffling cold which left him with a cough. That cough will linger most of the rest of the year. This happens to him every Winter. A small cold...big cough?? When he is really sick, he asked for mustard sandwiches...hasn't asked for one, that's how I know he isn't or wasn't really sick:)
Mema Jo answer to your question, "where did they land?" at Dulles.
Hedgie-Lynn that sounds so pretty. I remember back when I first started saving things while in school. For when I would marry. Use to do embroider sheet, pillow cases, pillows, pot holder, dish towels and etc. It was really the thing for a young lady to do back then. They was really pretty too.
Wanda and Gene it does sound like God led you to the perfect gift for the Soup Kitchen helpers. ( : Thank you also for checking out the Potomac River. The way Steve sounded I thought our eagles could still fish there. I also love the story about "your Dad and GG and the green velvet robe".
I guess we do have to remember we don't as of yet have a night light. So they could be coming in at night to "snuggle with each other".
Mai and I received an adorable sleeping-puppy-on-Santa-hat tree ornament from a very special Momster today!!!! It is already on the tree! Can you guess who sent it??!!
Glo, it's almost dark here in the woods.....at the nest, where things are pretty wide-open, it probably stays light a wee bit longer......we shall see here in the next 15 mins.
Nope, BEagle, not gonna embroider these! Even tho' I still have my hoop, I'm sure my threads are rotten! I think that the stencils ARE still in my Grams' sewing box, tho'! Along with her darning egg!!! Don't remember where it was, but saw a picture of one recently and a ? asking if anyone knew what it was........I think it was a game show. No one knew----but I DID!! Yes, Dana, and we did aprons, too. They were REALLY fancy, with pulled threads and little gathers among the embroidery!! Oh, those days were so wonderful. Miss my Grandma! Wanda, great shopping job!!!! Very thrifty AND special! Love the story about your Dad and the robe. Memories are made of those kind of fun things! Know how much you miss him. I miss my Dad, too. He loved Christmas SO much...always made up for being too poor as a child to experience the fun side of the holiday! Okay.....no more sad talk!
Nest does appear darker now. I was just thinking if cam isn't always updating then maybe lib and or Belle have come by and we have missed their visit. I just want someone to post Eagle in the nest
It is Alexis & Dad's evening and this evening for dinner it will also be with Izzy & Patrick since Sam and Mom are in NY. This will be lots of fun I'm sure.
Dana, so happy daughter is almost there with you. Please enjoy the visit.
Glo, can only say I hope you and Dex have a safe and very, very happy trip and visit. Enjoy!
Lynn, don't forget to give Mai her very own piece of wrapping paper to play with -- maybe wrap a toy in it to distract her from the real gift wrapping. I thought I was the only one left alive who prefers flour cloth dish towels. My favorite.
Nice gift idea of soup kitchen helpers, Wanda. I know they will appreciate most the recognition for their help. Tell Father Capt. Gene to get over that cough soon. Maybe eat a preventive mustard sandwich.
Hi BEagle. Hi Sissy. Hi Sharon.
Lowreeda, glad you had a day off. I hope you enjoyed and did some fun things for you.
OKAY, I'M REALLY GETTING TIRED OF THIS NOW! Called surgeon's office, explained about the "stuff" oozing from one of the incisions, said it was making me nervous, went in for a nurse visit, surgeon came in and looked. Yep, infection. Added an antibiotic to the stash of drugs. Go back Friday. If better, okay. If more than a skin infection maybe another surgery. I'M REALLY GETTING TIRED OF THIS NOW!
Even though I still have lots of papers to grade, I am going to bed now. Darth has a meeting. I'll just have to work harder tomorrow. Will try to come back later.
Thanks Judie Sorry about the infection. Glad you went in to see the Dr though and have some antibiotics. Hang in there. You can do this. I pray the infection will clear up nicely for you now. I really think that it will.
Oh, Judie.....I was afraid of that.....woof, as Margy would say! Sure hope the A/B does the trick! Don't think I'll give Mai any wrapping paper!! She's bad enough getting things she shouldn't have as it is! Foster mom let her play with shoes.....so you know what I'm dealing with now! Have to hide the ones that usually sit close to doors! I don't wear shoes in the house....which is why I have nip marks and scratches on my feet!
Speaking of mustard sandwiches....remember the cruise ship that had the electrical fire, and no power for 4 days a couple of weeks ago? One passenger said that all they had to eat was mayonnaise sandwiches. Well, to me that's not so bad----I love mayo sandwiches. But my folks had a friend we called Uncle Chuck from Pittsburgh who HATED mayo with a passion. Daddy would eat mayo sands in front of him just to get a rise out of him!!! I used to threaten him "if you don't come visit us, I'll send you a matyo sandwich!"
oh my gosh, I am so not encouraged by Steve's message. the eagles "have been seen OFF and ON"??? Shouldn't they be heavy into nestorations by now? oh dear......
Good evening all....very tired, very little sleep last night thanks to this stupid cough. Irvine all day today.
Dana, so excited that your daughter has landed!
GG, what a beautiful story about Wanda's robe! And so thoughtful of you to give a gift to your helpers!
JUDIE....UGH!!! I sure hope the antibiotics do their thing FAST!
Loretta, love the avatar!
Lynn, so glad the leash lesson didn't go too badly today! Puddles thinks the vacuum cleaner is her arch enemy and barks like crazy. We have been trying to "desensitize" her to it and it's sort of working!
Lolly, so glad all was good with the Dr visit!
Glo, I sure hope you and Dex have a fun and safe trip! I'm sure the cold snap there will end soon. My friend (who would technically be my Step Sister in Law I think?) is outside of Atlanta and my friend Cheri is in Savannah....they are COLD!!!!!
Lynne, I have big concerns about our eagles too. I look at other cams and see eagles hard at work. I have funny feeling and trying to adjust.
Okay, the house is all ready for company. Have dusted where it has not been dusted in a while. LOL Jack is making "trash" (Chex mix)for snacking. After dinner we are going to prepare Friday nights dinner. In the morning I am baking an apple dessert, preparing a casserole to take to Laurel's tomorrow night. It is all under control. I think!
Oh, Judie! I am so sorry about the infection. Was afraid of that! Go ahead, scream bloody murder!! No one will blame you.
Oh my Lolly, I know! I have been so excited about this nesting season and the new cam, and now I read this message from Steve, and there have been NO sightings on the cam save for Paula's....my heart is heavy.
Hi, Everyone, Getting here much later than I had originally planned. It has been really cloudy and damp and chilly here today, and Emma and I have been practically hibernating all day. Am debating about turning off our sprinklers--think it's supposed to rain, but hasn't so far. You never know in California!
I have my internet back again, thank God! I just hate that it is so "iffy" lately! Good thing it's back, since I had several bills to pay online today.
I have heard from daughter. They got pickup from airport my her friend. It will be tomorrow when I get to see her. Hopefully she will be able to get her rental vehicle tomorrow also.
I am glad she is in safe hands. They are staying with her friend and his wife. Which is what I had planned from the start.
Wanda I called China City were we have eaten crab legs. As well as you and your family have. Friday and Saturday is crab leg evenings. Guess what? They may NOT be having crab legs because the price may be too high for them to buy them. What do you think about that one? We all was going there this weekend. I call China City Friday to see whether they are having them or not?
Well, Dana, that stinks! Why not call the new seafood marketplace out at Wheatland and see what kind of price they have and fix them yourselves??? I think it's called Johnnie's......
Well because I know she would have wanted some of the other kind of stuff. There are other places. When we get together we will set things up.
Judie I can just hear the disappointment in your voice. I am so glad you went to the doctor and he has given you an antibiotic. PRAYERS FOR NO MORE SURGERY!! GOD PLEASE HEAL AND STOP THE INCISIION FROM THE DRAINAGE. Amen
Shirley said Tuesday at 2:24pm I think I will go back tomorrow and Thursday. Have appointments on Friday and Monday.
How much fun they are having in NYC, Jo. I get American Girl catalogs and just throw them out. My boys are not interested. sob sob Oh, well, I like sports. LOL
I can guess who sent the ornament, Lynn. She is a very special, very thoughtful young momster. Who also frequently sends cards and sweet notes. :)
The main dish for Friday night is prepared and I am pooped. That leaves dinner for tomorrow night and apple pie slices dessert. Also, the kitchen floor is once again a mess. I can not prepare herbs without getting them everywhere! Grrrr! Jack will vacuum and I will mop. Have to leave about 1:30 tomorrow so I will be busy in the morning,
Been wrapping off & on. We had ribs for dinner (the kind you just have to heat). I really like them--tender & sauce is good. Daughter called--she was in Philly, got home this PM just in time to get kitty from Vet. Cat was ill over weekend & she had to leave it. There were some dogs barking & she wouldn't eat, so she had run of the bathroom! She hid behind safe, but they knew she was there~~~her tail showed!!!
Great news for Dana--that your daughter landed & Jo's gals went to NY!! Glo, sounds like you're ready for an exciting trip and visit!!!Have a great holiday in GA!! Judie, Judie, Judie. So sorry about your infection & glad you have it under control. For a little levity, you can inform Darth, that my Darth gift bag has been packed w/present for SIL & will return to TX again!
My Zach "aroo", called me this evening. He lost his first tooth! I didn't even know he had a loose tooth. He was eating an apple. He told me "It came from Whole Foods." LOL Guess he won't eat apples from there again. So funny.
Well then Hedgie it was the same special momster that sent me the most beautiful Christmas card with one of her pictures of her eagles. It is breathtaking!
If you come back to say good night, Judie please know that I am praying for the antibiotic to clear up that infection PDQ ! Sure do miss your posts being more frequent but enjoy your comments always! Take Care.
I hope Mai was a good girl while you were bathing, Lynn. Don't freeze when you take her out - if in fact she will go out! My cats sniff the air and turn around.
Hi, Everyone! Dropping in to say goodnight. We watched "Driving Miss Daisy"--what a good movie! Have seen it a few times before, but never get tired of it.
Dana, bet you can't wait to see you daughter! Hope you are able to get at least SOME sleep tonight!
Judie, sorry about the infection, but good thing they gave you some antibiotics for it. Hope it gets better VERY soon! Prayers!
Hope that someone spots our eagles tomorrow. I'm concerned about them too!
Hope all those with colds, laryngitis, nagging coughs, etc., feel MUCH BETTER very soon!
Wanda, glad the soup kitchen was so busy! The word is getting around! Love the story about the bathrobe!
Glo, hope you and Dex have a safe journey, and a wonderful visit! Prayers for your protection.
Well, going to go watch a little TV before calling it a day. Prayers have been said for everyone. Don't think Judie has come back to turn on the night light. She must be snoozing, and fighting off that infection! I'll turn it on, along with the porch light and the Christmas lights. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are enabled. Hope everyone sleeps well and keeps warm. Will talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]
Hope school went well today, and am hoping that you have a snow day tomorrow! Glad you have your replacement glasses. Was thinking I'd have to get you clearance on Dana's thumbprint-scanning security! LOL :oD Sleep well.
Mai was in the crate while I bathed, since she woke up before I went down. She was quite good, too! Only cried/barked a little bit! Went out both before and after and did everything she was supposed to do!!!
Busy day tomorrow. Hope to get errands run before drs. apptmt. and hopefully get home before the snow arrives. Should time out right to stop at the wagon and get some ribs, too!!
Sleep well everyone. Margy was too tired to blog tonight, but she did spend some time with stepdaughter and family. Shirley, glad you made it to your bridge game and party! Christie was in F/B today, and heading back tomorrow......told her if snow is bad to stay with you----LOL; she'll get a hotel room!!
Prayers for safe travels whether it is appointments or whatever type of traveling.
Prayers for those like our Chrissy and family. Lynne a cold. Margy with her cold. Diann with her pain. Gene a terrible cough eat that mustard sandwich just in case. Judie that the meds works. Shirley for her healing and getting care she needs. I feel I am missing some so Lord please fill in the peoples needs health and otherwise.
I feel so badly that Judie has an infection...it's bad enough that she had to break her ankle and have surgery, but INFECTION on top of all that?! Not fair!! Did Dr. tell you to keep off of the ankle/foot a little less, Judie? Lynn, sounds like Baby Mai is getting with your program...good girl!
MARGY, enjoy your visits with family and hugs for James:)
I also, enjoyed Criminal Minds...one of the best ones I have seen!
Dana, enjoy your reunion with your precious daughter. How long has it been since you have seen her?
Hope that Samantha and Christine were dancing with the Rockettes, instead of having numb feet from the cold;) When you see those lovelies kicking those legs up to their eyebrows, you do get the urge to jump up there and dance with them:) Oh what memories for mother and daughter! JO, whose daughter is Christine? Would that be mike? Oh what a lovely family! Lynne, girl, you need to slow down and get rid of that cold before it turns into something else! LOLLY, you need to slow down a bit too...have a glass of wine with Jack and get a good night's sleep:)
I know I'm talking to myself, but, also know that Andrea is right behind me. She'll be here as soon as she takes Emma for her nightly constitution:)
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS SWEET DREAMS PRAYERS FOR ALL
Haven't been around for awhile - just dropped by and skimmed a bit.
Judie, I am SO sorry to see that you joined the broken ankle club! Never like to learn of new members. I have a plate and 8 screws still in mine. FYI - I found bicycle gloves were great for wheelchair and crutches (since I did some time on both); keeps the palm of the hand from getting raw.
Everyone gets discouraged at some point during the recovery (I was in touch with several people online during my ordeal, though sadly that blog is no longer active). Hang in there - it's just a matter of time - ankle healing really DOES happen!
Judie, was not happy to hear of your infection. I had one from my last back surgery, sent me back to the hospital in isolation with iv A/B. Had to have 3 additional debredings(S) and when the meds started to work, they sent me home with oral A/B and a visiting nurse to change my dressing daily. It took a while (3 months,I think) but I'm now healed and you will be too. Prayer for a guick recovery for Judy.
I'll catch up with the rest of you tomorrow. Finally getting sleeping. God bless
Two-hour delay for my school. Hunter's school is closed. I'll take Hunter to the sitter if I have to go in.
Well, you know about the kids who say the dog ate their homework. I just came down to find several chewed papers in the family room. Flash had been pulling my students' papers from my bag and chomping away on them. I'd left it unzipped when I grabbed the computer to check in last night. That rascal.
Speaking of infections--I got one from a biopsy when I had breast cancer. No fun. Was hospitalized for awhile. Found a new doctor before the surgery. A year or so later, I learned a lot about the first doctor. He had a high rate of infections, a criminal record, etc., etc. He is not working in this area anymore.
Good morning Shirley! I am sitting here watching the nest slowing start to appear. I would give anything to see that bright white head appear but I don't see anything yet.
No school here today and Tom said the roads are terrible. It is really coming down. I am so grateful to work at home and not have to go out in this mess.
Sissy, my school district is the only one around here on a delay rather than closed. They say they'll make a final decision by eight o'clock. I have to say that's probably a smart decision, but it means I can't relax completely yet.
But you're already getting snow. Very interesting.
Good Morning! Whoa, Shirley, that's scary to know that your former doctor had a criminal record, etc.! We may never know (on this side, at least) what God has saved us from! Mighty glad that all worked out well for you in that case.
Been watching for daylight at our nest. Getting a pretty clear picture of an empty nest right now. :o[ Sure does look cold there! Brrrrrr!
Little Miss Emma has been a very good girl this morning. It's raining, so gave her the option of going on a piddle pad, and she peed there, but kept looking up at me with a pleading look and whining. Took her outside in the rain, and she promptly did a #2, AND peed again! GOOD puppy! (She had her doggy coat on, so didn't get very wet.) :o]
Shirley, I'm praying that they will decide to close the school for today, and you won't have to brave the weather. Hope you get a relaxing day at home instead!
That Flash is such a little rascal! It's good for a laugh, though, that the TEACHER'S dog ate the homework!
Andy, I was in the hospital over Labor Day weekend, and the nurses weren't too busy, I think. One came in my room and I mentioned that I was getting differing opinions from my surgeon and my plastic surgeon. She commented that I needed to seek another opinion, giving me the distinct impression that she did not respect the surgeon.
In a few minutes, a second nurse showed up and said that they'd been talking, and she agreed with the first nurse. You can believe I had my doubts then.
I had already been wondering. A nurse had told me that the doctor had been asking her for her opinion about how to treat my infection.
I kept my appointment with the doctor and told him face-to-face that I was seeking another opinion. When he left the room, his own nurse told me that she had worked for the doctor I was going to see, and she really liked him. Reading between the lines, I figured she did not have the same respect for her new boss.
Just got the word. My school is closed today. No surprise here. I am glad I left things on my desk for the sub. Still have to send a plan, but movies, books, etc., are right there.
I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Also picked up the CT scan disk from the hospital yesterday morning. Neat that it is on a computer disk.
BAD FLASH! Shirley, so glad the nurses were able to guide you away from that Dr...how scary!
OK, I've been staring at our nest for a half hour. Except for King Kong, I have seen no other life forms flitting around. We don't have sound? or do we? I haven't been able to watch much so far this week....does anyone notice anything different...new sticks, things move around, etc, to indicate our birds have been here?
Good morning. The forecast is sounding worse with every report.....now saying 3". I can feel myself getting tense and nervous. Know what? I don't need this! Errands can wait til tomorrow and dr. can be rescheduled. I promised myself when I retired that I would never have to go through this anxiety again.....so I won't!
Good morning everyone. I have 4 to 5 inches of very heavy snow to move off my porch and get a path to the sidewalk and then Dex and I are on our way to the neighbors. Where is my son LOL He will be so happy to hit the cold and snow :-) Oh well a little bit of White Christmas is a good thing.
I will be lurking on and off! Ya'll holler at me if there is any news of our Royal Couple!! Good morning to all coming on! Gotta get to work or I will be here in this chair all day!! Love and hugs for the day, stay safe and warm!!
Dana, Kickngbird is a blooger who has been here on and off!
OK, so if the Bald Eagle in the tree outside was a good omen, and the Monarch that emerged in my kitchen was a good omen.....then I suppose that waking up and finding a STINKBUG crawling on my pillow in the middle of the night was a NOT so good omen......
Nope, no wind here so far today! Hope it stays that way!!
Shirley, there have been many times during my career that I gently steered patients away from certain doctors! We've had our share here, too, of incompetence and questionable activities. When they said I had to have an emergency c-sec for Carolyn, the OB-GYN was busy. They wanted to get a general surgeon who we all knew was a staph-carrier. I adamantly refused!! Finally the OB showed up!
That is a riot, Shirley.......teach's dog ate the homework!!!! I hope you had already graded an d entered the grades!! And that the kids don't want their papers back!
Mai slept until almost 5 today! Right back to sleep after a trek out. She is now waking again....so guess we do it all over again!! This time she will want to play, and explore, and get into trouble!!!! BBL!
GOOD MORNING... 19° here in my area and no snow yet. I am glad I read the blog this morning. You ladies talking about the snow getting here earlier and more than expected, will get me moving a little quicker. Need to get into GG's with some food and a few days supply of meds. Lynn, you can drop those items off at anytime, doesn't matter when! Stay home and stay safe and warm:)
Good Late morning Diann. Glad everything healed back then.
Shirley well now you know it is true (at times). I am sorry for my chuckle "flash chewed on the kids home work. Maybe he was trying to be you and grading them". lol Shirley I am glad they called school off.
Shirley was that a doctor around the area you live now? Thanks God for those nurses; especially the one that worked for him. What year was that? My aunt had breast cancer and lived in Culpeper. Her doctor told her she did not have it again in the other breast. She had already had one breast removed. She knew it was in the other. By the time she found responsible doctor in was in her back. She throw a big party. Set up a tent down by the river and everyone got to see her and each other before she passed. I do miss her so.
Happy you checked in this morning Sissy. Hope you don't mind if I say, "please keep that snow".
Hi Andy good morning. Sounds like Emma is really doing very well.
I see Margy has checked in and has to go into work. I do remember her saying, "days while James mother and grandpa were here". Praying for a good day and that your cold is getting much better Margy.
Lynne2 I am like you and Sissy. Looked even at still to see any difference. I just don't see any. I am going to check a picture I have later of the nest.
Hedgie-Lynn I sure hope not 3". I have to pick up daughter in Hedgesville and bring her in town to get rental car today sometime between 10 and noon. I can't clear 3" off my car. Ok God I'm praying here.
Glo (: Good morning yuck 4 to 5 inches. Glad son is going to be going back with you and Dex.
Hedgie Mai is really becoming that puppy that is doing her thing. So happy she slept well. I know that helps you too rest.
KING KONG? LOL, Shirley, do you remember last Winter when Gene was seeing "figures" in the trees after a big snow? Can't remember all of them, but Red Riding Hood and the Wolf was one of them. Yah, it does look a bit like Kong:) Glad you can stay at home today!
I did just send out 2 pictures of the still cam to the group. If you put the pictures side by side. Yes I see a few sticks moved. Can't say though that the wind didn't move them.
radar showing snow over us now, too....but none is reaching the ground. This phenom is called "verga" which means that the clouds are producing precipitation, but the the air is still too dry down low and it evaporates as it hits the drier air. And there is your weather trivia for the day. I'm heading to the store...BBL
I LOVE mayo sandwiches. Never tell anyone because I expect disparaging comments.
Just too funny that Honey ate up all the bird treats. She is clearly one smart bear.
Am also beginning to have some concern about Belle & Lib. Seems they should be very active in preparing the nest by now. Have to wonder maybe when they began nestorations a few weeks ago they realized the tree is too fragile.
Can't help but be concerned about the potential for having a doctor who is questionable. So far, my new doctors all have excellent reputations and all belong to a group that is typically rated among best in the U.S. In that regard, I am blessed.
Will have to change the dressing on the incision this morning. Not looking forward to that. Gets stuck > serious pain upon removal. Okay, enough of my issues. Thank you all for the support.
Sure looks like a snow day here. Nothing yet but supposed to arrive by afternoon.
Wannabe adults are taking their final exam in an hour. Left detailed instructions -- oops, just seeing some snowflakes floating around -- so hope there are no problems for the grad students.
Seems as if most everyone has, or is about to have, holiday preparations under control. Nothing for us this year.
Was thinking about a prime rib roast for Christmas day. A small one maybe two/three ribs -- enough for two. I have a recipe but wonder if anyone has a good one to share? I welcome all new recipes!
Think I will return to bed and prop my leg up and contemplate consuming a percocet.
Good morning! Have read the paper and now about to get up and get with it. No enjoying a lazy morning. Well, this is what happens when you have two Christmases....lots of things to be done.
Mad at my SIL. We wanted to get Joseph a new basketball goal, but he said there was only one he (Joey) wanted. Well, we were not going to spend $800 for a bb goal for a 10 year old! So, I bought him other presents. Now, this morning he calls and he has decided the other is outrageous and to go ahead and get another. Sorry! My shopping is DONE!
Can not believe the weather you all are having. It is cooler here now, 43 and bright sunshine. I would be out raking leaves if I did not have cooking to do. Anyway, glad to have cooler weather. Did not like the mid 70's yesterday.
Glad I left my sun shine on here. Put it on last year when everyone was having such gloomy days. Guess I better stick with it, huh?
I am leaving now. Have a great day. I will not be on much this weekend. Larry and Sandy arrive tonight, Sharon and Dan after lunch tomorrow. Then Saturday both the kids arrive for afternoon and dinner. Brother and Sister depart Sunday AM, then I have a few days before the kids return on Thursday. Time enough for me to change the bed sheets and replace the towels. More grocery shopping and cooking. LOL After Christmas I will collapse!
Good Morning Everyone! We have snow and ice on the road here. Maybe only 1/2 inch snow. Judie so glad you saw a nurse. You will heal, just know it! Shirley, so glad you do not have to be out and about today. But love the dog ate homework story. Had to chuckle there! Emma is becoming quite the little diva, isn't she? Not really wanting to go potty on her pad but rather outside out of her home! Whereas Mai is a little more earthy, rumble tumble test your limits kind of girl. Lynn, she is keeping you on your toes.
My daughter and sil made buckeye balls, sugar coated peanuts, turtles, (a pretzel topped with a rolo topped with a pecan and baked), margarita balls and I think that's it, yesterday. I have been begged to make rum balls. We give it all away....well maybe not all. Makes it seem more Christmas once you start some of your traditions.
I am a big believer in hand sanitizer, on the grocery cart, public bathroom door, etc. viruses and bacteria abound. Keep your hand as clean as you can.
For everyone who is under the weather, by illness, surgery or accident or by life, please feel better immediately. Whenever two or more agree in prayer we become like a chorous and we are heard by the one who heals.
Finally, lest I bore you more....Where are Lib and Belle?
Good Morning Judie with that beautiful Cardinal. I know I have said it before but my Dad loved the male Cardinal. I have a statue of a male he on a patio round stone on the ground by my steps.
Judie I know the changing dressing isn't the nicest. You do sound could and isn't it just great having doctors you can trust!!
I'm not doing too much Christmas day. Fine dinner with Mom probably somewhere.
Lolly ok so you are saying with all the busy things going on and people coming. You won't be on the blog much. So wishing you great times here at Christmas.
The snow has started........argh!! Suz is leaving work now----it is already snowing in northern VA and it sounds like she will probably be in it all the way home. Praying for her safety. And my Christie is either on her way or already in Fredericksburg, VA (Shirley's town).....praying that she will choose to hunker down in a hotel tonight.
Your goodies sound very tempting, Suzan! Can you share a recipe for Margarita balls???
Lynne----an SB on your pillow??? GROSS!
Michael Vick wants to get a dog------can you believe it????? I sure hope the judge hears about this.....he thinks it would help him rehab/heal. BULL. And these dummies on The View think he should be allowed to. STOOOOOOPID!
Lynn, I would be happy to share. I came across the recipe in a magazine and thought it was different and would give them a try. Everyone loved them and as a matter of fact my sil's family got in a fist fight over them swearing one had stoled the other's. LOL. Not a damaging fracus. Hold on......
Margarita Balls 1 (12 ounce) package vanilla wafers 1/2 cup pretzel crumbs 1 (16 ounce) package confectioners' sugar, sifted 3/4 cup frozen margarita or limeade concentrate, thawed 6 ounces cream cheese 1 teaspoon tequila, or to taste (optional) 1 teaspoon Triple Sec (orange liqueur), or to taste (optional) Rind from 1 lime, grated fine, divided 1 (2.25 ounce) shaker green decorator sugar 1 cup granulated sugar
Place half the vanilla wafers in bowl of food processor fitted with knife blade. Process to fine crumbs. Remove crumbs and reserve. Repeat with remaining wafers. Add about 1 cup pretzels to food processor and process to fine crumbs to make 1/2 cup crumbs.
In a large bowl, combine wafer crumbs, pretzel crumbs, confectioners' sugar, margarita concentrate and cream cheese. Add tequila and Triple Sec, if desired. Stir until blended. Divide mixture in half. Wrap each half tightly in plastic and set aside.
Combine half the grated lime with decorator sugar and half with granulated sugar on small saucers or in small bowls, stirring to distribute lime peel evenly. Remove plastic from 1 portion of the dough and shape into 1-inch balls. After shaping each ball, roll each in green or white sugar. Work quickly because balls dry quickly. Repeat until all dough is used. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator up to 1 week.
Asking you all to send up a little prayer for Mary Margaret. She has cataract surgery at 1:30 today!
Judie, your rib roast sounds good. I did that one year----a crown roast......it took forever to get done!! Late dinner that Christmas! But it WAS very good.
Was headed to kitchen to start some beef stew, thought i would open door to "feel" the weather and there is about one inch of ice already accumulated. Yuk. My daughter commutes to Durham, about 45 min. away. I am not happy about her drive this evening.
Crawled back into bed and took a nap. It was very nice. Hunter is not complaining about getting a day at home, nor am I.
Nope, I had not graded the papers. They are ones students did with the sub while I was out. I think the damaged ones are all for my Block 2 honors class--an SOL practice test. I will grade what I can. If I can't grade someone's paper, they will get credit for anything I can't read. Not a big deal.
I see that the nest and King Kong are getting snowed upon. So is Fredericksburg.
The birds have found my new squirrel proof feeder. But, the ones brave enough to come to the feeder on the window have to deal with George. He is closely watching. I really did not set it up for him.
Hmm, I see that many of those places that opened this morning are now closing early.
Kathryn went off to work as usual. She will have to work all day unless it gets really bad, but she does have 4-wheel drive. Prayers for all of those who have to work in the snow.
Now, as to King Kong. I was thinking of the tree nearest the nest. The one behind him now looks like a giant bird with the touches of snow forming the eyes and beak. See the wings? Bird is much bigger than King Kong.
Good TH to Everyone. We are having snow that reminds me of drizzle!!! There are tiny flakes. Not covering too much. Even w/that I've noticed how bright the cardinals are gatting. One was way down in a neighbor's shrub yesterday & looked like an Xmas ornament. Shirley, that is a great dog ate homework story!!!☺ A little concern about eagles, too. I haven't seen them often at nest at Park, either, and can't tell if those over the River are the same. They Never wear their name tags!!! More stuff came in mail to wrap, so gotta get back to Xmas! Hope everyone has a good day and all recuperaters are healing quickly!
Wonder if the Panda hat lady Shirley saw was Sissy!!??Wasn't me! LOL
Looking at the nest, that branch at the bottom right looks rotted. I think that might have been the one to which the previous cam was attached. It is obviously one of the branches supporting the nest.
On bad doctors, I learned of my doctor's background when one of my friends told me that her sister (a nurse) had spotted an article in the newspaper about him. He was bad enough to be newsworthy.
Not a nice day to be a 911 dispatcher....... :( Coming down harder. Sleet mixed in in some places. Schools letting out early----please be careful drivers.....precious cargo aboard!
Nope, not nice to be a 9-1-1 dispatcher today, but they are certainly appreciated on a day like this.
Kathryn will tell you that it is a good day for her business--a body shop. When she first started working in a mechanical shop, she was told that customers who need them are often in a bad mood. That can be true of a lot of jobs, I guess.
One of my students told me that her mother was the dispatcher who took the call about my accident. Culpeper is a small town. I do appreciate everyone who helped me that day.

Will get the others~~~~
Good afternoon my eagle budlets!
Four tries for the password again. I think I will write it down this time! :-)
Thanks Steve for the new thread and Loretta for calling us over.
I'll bring the eamil to Steve and from Steve over here (don't know why when I make sure it is typed right on here is leave spaces):
I wrote Steve here is what I wrote and here are the answers:
Me-Is the river frozen over? Is that why we have not seen
the eagles at the nest? If it is frozen over. Where will the eagles go? Will they come back to the nest if it is so?
Steve answers-the river has ice on it, but not completely frozen over.
Eagles have a big range they can cover.
We have seen them off and on, we'll keep an eye out. As I've said in the past, eagles will sometimes build new nests after 7-8 years. Let's keep our fingers crossed that they have not moved somewhere else...
Steve
Posted on FB some pics of Christine and Samantha at American Girl Cafe...
Loretta, glad you get the day off!! Enjoy.
Packages just arrived from internet ordering! May even start wrapping this evening!!
Interstate 81 has no protection from the wind. Blows tractor trailers and cars all around. Sometimes that is why I take Rt. 11 into town.
Glo you are into packing your car I see. Tomorrow what time do you and Dex pull out for Georgia? Traveling prayers are in place.
Vacuuming is almost finished......Mai does NOT like it. She barks the whole time!! Little rip!
Boy I am with you all on that! I really wish there was someway to avoid this winter! I am already wore out from it and it is only mid-December!!!!
So Glo's son is coming in that lives in Georgia and driving the trip with her and Dex?
GLO DID YOU HEAR HER PLANE FLY OVER ILLINOIS? HEE HEE Nearing Browsville, In. now.
Morning Sissy nice to see you on here.
Lynn sent me a link so I could watch daughter flying from Colorado. It is really NEAT! I knew Mits had sent something so Mema Jo could watch the Germany gang fly.
They just about to Indiana Indianapolis.
Good afternoon Dana and everyone else! Catching up on DVR from last night, NCIS!
Thought I would try to peek in on our cam during lunch. It seems to be running better!
And did ya'll see this note under our cam at Outdoor?
Watch other Outdoor Channel partner live cams: Africam Nkorho Pan, Africam Potted Plant Owl, Africam Elephant Plains
I think the view looks zoomed in too
And our birds have been spotted, YAY
Home from my appointment, sit down for a sec and first thing I see is Lynn telling me "no slacking"! Ah, come on, gimme a break! :)
Great report at doctors, all numbers are great. Cholesterol was way down. Yea!!!!!! Blood pressure was excellent...I am good to go. LOL
Okay, Okay, okay....back to work!
BBILW
Glad to hear it, Lolly.
Have a safe trip, Glo.
Hi Paula I am watching my girl flying over Marietta Georgia now.
See that Outdoor said new cam and location......hope they realize that it's a new position on the tree and NOT a new tree/nest!
Airplane has landed !! ( :
I see those new spots on the live feed too Hedgie-Lynn.
Spots are still there, and sun is moving! But yes, cam looks like it might be zoomed in a bit.
Yea, Dana----one leg closer to you on her journey!
Glad that the live cam is running without pause or hesitation!
Wow Lynn, I think it worked on Lolly.
Dana I am very excited for you! At which airport did they land.
Good coverage of our FONZ Pandas - Mits is operating the cams!
Hoping they were just sun spots on our cam - not to visible right now.
Helloooo!
Spots on the cam?
Eagles abandoning nest? No No No No
I won't have it!
Thanks for the shower warm up idea Lolly..it certainly helps.
So, with the cost of the stickers, the gift will run about $1.50 ea.:)
Found some pretty decorations for GG there, also and flowers for my Dad's vase.
I did notice the links below the cam last week. Just haven't checked them out yet.
Will Lib and Belle leave? No No Why am I even thinking that?
Will you embroider flowers on your towels Hedgie?
Will we have night vision on the nest yet?
CLady...Perfectly thought through and affordable gifts! Good idea.
Thank you also for checking out the Potomac River. The way Steve sounded I thought our eagles could still fish there. I also love the story about "your Dad and GG and the green velvet robe".
I guess we do have to remember we don't as of yet have a night light. So they could be coming in at night to "snuggle with each other".
Hmmm its dark in IL now by 5pm. Is it dark in WV then. If s the still cam isn't right but the clock is.
Mai and I received an adorable sleeping-puppy-on-Santa-hat tree ornament from a very special Momster today!!!! It is already on the tree! Can you guess who sent it??!!
Spots are gone on cam.....guess it WAS sunspots!
awww Hedgie how very sweet. And Yes I do think I can guess who sent it. I think I only need one guess actually :-)
Okay, Glo.....who is your guess???
Cams appropriately dark now with obviously NO infrared..... :(
Ditto that Glo!
It is Alexis & Dad's evening and this evening for dinner it will also be with Izzy & Patrick since Sam and Mom are in NY. This will be lots of fun I'm sure.
BBL
sent my guess on facebook
Hi everyone!
Have fun, Jo. What's on the menu? Sghetti???
Wonder how Shirley got along today?? She may luck out and noot have school tomorrow.....storm is supposed to be more intense down her way.
Mits is doing a good job on the panda cam this evening!!! Check it out!
oh my gosh, I am so not encouraged by Steve's message. the eagles "have been seen OFF and ON"???
My friend (who would technically be my Step Sister in Law I think?) is outside of Atlanta and my friend Cheri is in Savannah....they are COLD!!!!!
gotta run and get some things done....BBL
Lynne, hope you can get some sleep tonight. :( Is it time for the Dr. visit yet??
No one will blame you.
no, not yet Lynn!
Oh my Lolly, I know! I have been so excited about this nesting season and the new cam, and now I read this message from Steve, and there have been NO sightings on the cam save for Paula's....my heart is heavy.
Hi, Everyone,
Getting here much later than I had originally planned.
Oops--Emma needs to go outside. Will BBL... :o]
Amen
Shirley said Tuesday at 2:24pm
I think I will go back tomorrow
and Thursday. Have appointments
on Friday and Monday.
Wanda, the ornaments for the Soup Kitchen Angels sound perfect. Tell GG her hair really looks lovely. Love the store about your Dad and the robe.
Dana, glad your daughter is back on soil. Know you will be excited to see her tomorrow!
so, Lynne has a Secret Ornament Santa...how sweet!
I was the diamond sunspots on our cam too. Sure hope we see them soon.
Judie, sorry to hear about the infection, hope the meds help clear it up quickly.
Jo, have a nice dinner!
We are back from dinner - Alexis and her dad headed on to a school event.
Izzy was captured by her Aunt, so I didn't get to be with her for dinner.
Great gifts, Wanda for the volunteers.
They will be honored just to be remembered.
Going in to catch some tv Survivor and see what else is on.
I'll check back in.
About an hour ago Christine texted to FB: OMG I can't feel my feet. We had a great day though.
Now was it all the walking, was it the cold or was it that they were on stage dancing with the Rocketts? lol
Going to get ready to watch
Criminal Minds........
BBILW
Jo, you've got mail!
I'm sure it was frozen feet that Christine is referring to!!!! Brrrr.
Time for Criminal Minds!
Great Criminal Minds!!!! What say you, Jo??
So funny.
For anyone else wondering what happened to the Christmas trees at the bearcam viewing area: it was Honey who did it!!
Honey's Trees
Dana, didn't know that you still had one more wake-up before your reunion! :( Bet you won't sleep much tonight!
I loved Criminal Minds - Love the actors/actresses... I wonder where
Hutch is and when he'll be back?
What say, Baby Girl! lol
Nope, Lolly.....you and Glo both guessed the same person, I think. Pssst.....Hint: she was just posting about daughter and kitty!!!!
Going to get my bath. BBL.
Very funny comment concerning Honey (the bear) Honey is supposed to be on a diet, but she apparently has no willpower.
Well then Hedgie it was the same special momster that sent me the most
beautiful Christmas card with one of her pictures of her eagles. It is
breathtaking!
Yep, I was wrong, but that other momster is also a very caring loving person, obviously! Also, creative with her computer!
Lolly, hoping you and Jack will enjoy your company and congratulations on the
1st lost tooth! That is so special...
If you come back to say good night,
Judie please know that I am praying for the antibiotic to clear up that infection PDQ ! Sure do miss your posts being more frequent but enjoy your comments always! Take Care.
I hope Mai was a good girl while you were bathing, Lynn. Don't freeze when you take her out - if in fact she will go out! My cats sniff the air and turn around.
Went to school today and played bridge tonight. I just wanted you to know I am still around.
Ugh, Judie. Sorry about the infection.
I will try to get back on tomorrow.
Kathryn says there is a stinkbug in her room somewhere.
Could be snowy tomorrow.
Bye for now.
I am going to get ready for the pillows
Good Night Everyone
Prayers for Everyone
Hugs for Everyone ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Did Everyone hear me? Did you hear me?
Love ya all!
Yes, Jo, I heard you! Love you, too!
Oh, Shirley!
Hope school went well today, and am hoping that you have a snow day tomorrow! Glad you have your replacement glasses. Was thinking I'd have to get you clearance on Dana's thumbprint-scanning security!
LOL :oD Sleep well.
Good night, Mema Jo!
Goodnight, all. :o]
Yep....the creative momster is Loretta!!!
Prayers for all. And peace.
Criminal Minds was great tonight.
Have some emails to send...sorry need to get them out to you all. Hope you don't get mad. A friend sends some really good ones.
Prayers for those that need them.
Did Judie get her ice cream tonight?
Good Night Everyone.
Angels On ALL Your Pillows ^j^ ^j^
^j^ ^j^ ^j^ ^j^ ^j^ ^j^
Oh yes Lord Prayers for our eagles at the nest. Amen
Heading to bed
Hugs to all ♥
Fell asleep. Guess it is time to go to bed. :)
Nite all! Sweet dreams!
AMEN! Dana:)
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Nite, Paula:) Lolly:)
I was leaving the door open for Andrea, but see that she has already come and gone, so the door is now c l o s i n g.....
P.S. - I had a couple of internal stitches get infected. Very common, apparently. The antibiotic will probably take care of it.
Saying my goodnights.
Judie, was not happy to hear of your infection. I had one from my last back surgery, sent me back to the hospital in isolation with iv
Speaking of infections--I got one from a biopsy when I had
breast cancer. No fun. Was hospitalized for awhile. Found a new doctor before the surgery. A year or so later, I learned a lot about the first doctor. He had a high rate of infections, a criminal record, etc., etc. He is not working in this area anymore.
Saw someone wearing a panda hat at the grocery store yesterday evening.
Good morning Shirley! I am sitting here watching the nest slowing start to appear. I would give anything to see that bright white head appear but I don't see anything yet.
Did you know I love pandas?? LOL!
Sure does look cold there!
Good Morning, Sissy!
Looks like you and I are on the same page nestwise! Eagerly waiting to spot Belle and Lib!
Yeah, Andrea, I keep praying for a sign that they are around. Worry, worry, worry!!
Shirley,
I'm praying that they will decide to close the school for today, and you won't have to brave the weather. Hope you get a relaxing day at home instead!
That Flash is such a little rascal! It's good for a laugh, though, that the TEACHER'S dog ate the homework!
Good Morning Eagle Pals
Best wishes and prayers for a good day,
prayers for safe travel,
more healing where needed
and a good work or stay-at-home day
May we all feel God's Blessings working in our lives today
and I sure hope we see some Eagle Action at NCTC -
time for me to get ready for work
God Bless Us, Every One
xo ♥
Golly, is that a live picture of the nest? Don't see any leaves or branches moving. Must be no wind at all there.
I need to go get some breakfast. You still watching, Sissy? Don't want to miss a sighting.
Good Morning, Margy!
Hope you have an uneventful day at work! Stay bundled up--hope the cold is losing and you're winning!
Yikes, Shirley! Pretty scary. God bless those nurses for looking out for you in that situation!
Wow, it is snowing like crazy out there. I am out of bird seed and that worries me. There is a little left in the feeders but not alot.
Well, better go get some breakfast before Emma wakes up again. Will be back shortly.
I kept my appointment with the doctor and told him face-to-face that I was seeking another opinion. When he left the room, his own nurse told me that she had worked for the doctor I was going to see, and she really liked him. Reading between the lines, I figured she did not have the same respect for her new boss.
Yes, Andy, you have to know that nurses see a lot of the behind-the-scenes activity. These nurses felt they had to tell me. The message was clear.
You can see snow on Trafficland. Check out the Shenandoah Valley cameras.
My new doctor told me that he would pass on the final word that doc #1 had been fired. I was happy to let him do that.
http://swiftnet.us/jeffersoncam/
This is a cam in Bluefield.
Oh my, Sissy. Plenty of snow there.
Looking at the nest cam. That one evergreen tree on the right looks a little like King Kong.
Just want to see eagles at the nest.
Good morning!
I was looking for signs of that first thing this morning Lynne, but I haven't seen anything different. I am worried, to say the least!!
Trafficland
Trying this link. Hope it works. I can see the snowy roads Sissy is talking about.
Good morning. The forecast is sounding worse with every report.....now saying 3". I can feel myself getting tense and nervous. Know what? I don't need this! Errands can wait til tomorrow and dr. can be rescheduled. I promised myself when I retired that I would never have to go through this anxiety again.....so I won't!
well, that IS very worrisome. UGH.
My picture just went to spinning arrow.....
I haven't been watching regularly enough to say if there have been changes at the nest.
yes Lynn...stay home and don't worry! Looks like we may be getting a little more than the half inch they predicted as well.
just refreshed the page and the spinning arrow is gone now.
Okay, I have refreshed. Visit with poor stupid Ed and now an arrowless view of the nest and King Kong.
Yeah, Lynn. Just take it easy, girl! No need to get stressed. Just enjoy the view.
let's hope Ed has learned his lesson.
Over and over, Lynne. Ed is a slow learner.
I will check back in later.
Good Thursday Morning Eagle Friends.
I need to catch the start of todays comments.
bbiaw
P.S. Who is kickingbird? Well maybe I'll find that out when I read comments this AM.
I will be lurking on and off! Ya'll holler at me if there is any news of our Royal Couple!! Good morning to all coming on! Gotta get to work or I will be here in this chair all day!! Love and hugs for the day, stay safe and warm!!
See ya Bev!
Dana, Kickngbird is a blooger who has been here on and off!
OK, so if the Bald Eagle in the tree outside was a good omen, and the Monarch that emerged in my kitchen was a good omen.....then I suppose that waking up and finding a STINKBUG crawling on my pillow in the middle of the night was a NOT so good omen......
according to my radar, light snow has just entered Shepherdstown. Not seeing on the cam yet though.
Finally the OB showed up!
knocking on your door too, Lynn...see anything yet?
Maybe he was trying to be you and grading them". lol
Shirley I am glad they called school off.
Shirley was that a doctor around the area you live now? Thanks God for those nurses; especially the one that worked for him.
What year was that? My aunt had breast cancer and lived in Culpeper.
Her doctor told her she did not have it again in the other breast. She had already had one breast
removed. She knew it was in the other. By the time she found responsible doctor in was in her back. She throw a big party. Set up a tent down by the river
and everyone got to see her and each other before she passed.
Yah, it does look a bit like Kong:)
Glad you can stay at home today!
Good Morning Wanda. I see you will be heading into GG's. Prayers for driving safety. I am hoping this snow holds off.
I'm heading to the store...BBL
safe travels Wanda and Dana....hopefully the VERGA won't become SNOW til you are done with your driving for the day!
Good morning everybody. Snowing in Bedford!
Good Morning Sharon ( :
Nice to see you in here today.
I'm about to check out the Bluefield cam.
Does Bedford have a cam?
Good morning, everyone.
BBL
Good morning! Have read the paper and now about to get up and get with it. No enjoying a lazy morning. Well, this is what happens when you have two Christmases....lots of things to be done.
Mad at my SIL. We wanted to get Joseph a new basketball goal, but he said there was only one he (Joey) wanted. Well, we were not going to spend $800 for a bb goal for a 10 year old! So, I bought him other presents. Now, this morning he calls and he has decided the other is outrageous and to go ahead and get another. Sorry! My shopping is DONE!
I am a little concerned about Shirley. I think her fall has affected her. King Kong? Shirley, you are seeing things!!!
See ya!
NCSusan you snuck in while I was typing comment. Good Morning ( :
Yes I do use the sanitizer on grocery carts too. I keep packets in my pocket book. So when go to a resturant or other places I have it to use.
I didn't make any candy. Best I don't have much anyways. I'll have a little during the holiday.
Suzan, think you hit Mai's personality right on!!! Can't wait to see what she thinks of the snow!!
Lolly, please send your 70's here....I don't care how warm/hot it gets!!! This 20° isn't fit for man or beast. And wind has started to blow.
Dana, how are the kids getting TO Hedgesville? Be careful when you go out-----any idea when?
Lolly, I agree: $800 is insane....and oh, well---too late now for the sensible one!
Nest is getting snow-covered......
Margarita Balls
1 (12 ounce) package vanilla wafers
1/2 cup pretzel crumbs
1 (16 ounce) package confectioners' sugar, sifted
3/4 cup frozen margarita or limeade concentrate, thawed
6 ounces cream cheese
1 teaspoon tequila, or to taste (optional)
1 teaspoon Triple Sec (orange liqueur), or to taste (optional)
Rind from 1 lime, grated fine, divided
1 (2.25 ounce) shaker green decorator sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
Makes 7 dozen.
They can be frozen too. The hardest thing about making these is rolling them in to balls!
Asking you all to send up a little prayer for Mary Margaret. She has cataract surgery at 1:30 today!
Judie, your rib roast sounds good. I did that one year----a crown roast......it took forever to get done!! Late dinner that Christmas! But it WAS very good.
Need to go pick up daughter to take her to get her rental car. Please pray for us driving it is snowing.
Was headed to kitchen to start some beef stew, thought i would open door to "feel" the weather and there is about one inch of ice already accumulated. Yuk. My daughter commutes to Durham, about 45 min. away. I am not happy about her drive this evening.
BBILW
Will try and take pics!
I have been here for quite awhile.
Checking out emails and FB. The snow
is really coming down here in the valley - Canceled Hair cut....
Suz, that's the million dollar question...where ARE Lib and Belle? Lots of worry here....
Safe travel prayers for all, and please include Steve in yours...he is leaving for his half day shortly and has to drive all afternoon. UGH.
Snow started about a half hour ago, everything has a dusting already.
Good TH to Everyone. We are having snow that reminds me of drizzle!!! There are tiny flakes. Not covering too much. Even w/that I've noticed how bright the cardinals are gatting. One was way down in a neighbor's shrub yesterday & looked like an Xmas ornament.
Shirley, that is a great dog ate homework story!!!☺
A little concern about eagles, too.
LOL
Thanks, Suzan! Sounds excellent!!! Copied and pasted so I can print out!
Shirley, I see King Kong now that you've described him!!!!
Yes, it is very worrisome about Lib and Belle.
Hope that all who are out and about have safe travels.
Panda hat:
This lady was at the Bloom grocery store across from Lake of the Woods in Locust Grove, VA. She had a baby with her.
Thought about taking a picture, but decided it might not be polite.
Seriously, I wouldn't have taken her picture. I would not want someone to do that to me.
As far as I know, he left the state. I feel sorry for anyone else who might end up being his patient.
Just put in for a sub on Friday and Monday. Still cannot get my preferred sub. Shucks.
Not a nice day to be a 911 dispatcher....... :(
