Lynne great you saved the cake. If it were me I would be tempted to throw the whole thing away. But my son or anyone in my family would say it's okay and just cut away the SB part and not think another thing about it.
Hi, BEagle. I saw the BWE pair on their own nest yesterday a few times. We were remarking about the difference in the cam--looks further away than the old one. Will make it impossible to see any pips in an egg.
Lynne, I KNEW what you were going to say, too, about the cake! I'm sure Steve is especially glad you didn't throw it out!!!! The cake, that is!
Paula, I was sure that when I got the Christmas rugs out from under my bed there would be some in them....but NOT!!!! Whew!

Miss Judith and I hope you are enjoying the holidays with you and yours. Right now she is resting comfortably across the hall in her bed after giving me detailed instructions for vooking a rib roast. So, here goes.
Maybe she'll check in later... if she survives my rib roast.
well, I worked so hard on that cake, too....carefully opening the box, blending it with expertise, and the icing....whew, getting that icing out of the can was not so easy!! I couldn't just trash such a masterpiece!
Darth, you are sure a bright spot!! ROFL here!!! Thanks for checking in, and hugs to you and Judie! I'm sure that your roast will turn out beautifully! Such a talented vook can't miss!!! You do realize that vooking is your new job, from here on out, right??!!! Enjoy your meal!!!
Paula, late is okay as long you eat before the evening is out!!!
I have the crab dip in the oven, the shrimp is thawing, and Christie should be leaving her dad's as I type, so will be here in 15 min.
So I will c heck in with all you lovely friends later this evening!!
Here is what is says under the OD cam and is written under the subtitle of Eaglecam.
"The nest has been active for five seasons, fledging several juvenile bald eagles. The eagles return to the nest for the winter season around mid-January, with eggs being laid in early February."
I think it is safe for me to say that it has been a very Merry Christmas. The last gift has been given but there are still lots of cookies to be eaten.
Darth, thanks for my Christmas Day Cheer! Tell Judie that I miss her immensely and pray for her return! I hope your dinner turns out spectacular!
It has been a merry Christmas here, too. Hunter has gone to Luray with his dad. It has started snowing here, and all of the children have gone back to their homes. Kathryn and I were watching, get this . . . Dog the Bounty Hunter. I think it's some auction show now.
Tom and Hunter are almost to Luray. He said they got out of the snow soon after they left here. Luray is supposed to get snow, but we are expected to get more. I suppose this will be classified as a white Christmas.
Shirley, I just wanted to say that I've had Hunter and Kathryn on my mind this Holiday season...I am sure that Christmas for them was a bit difficult this year.
Tough on Kathryn, Lynne. She is going to go to Luray tomorrow. She wanted to give Tom some time alone with Hunter and his family. I may go with her, just so she does not have to be alone, especially with the weather being what it is.
I think Hunter is okay, but you never know what a child might be thinking. I am glad I could be here for them.
Tom commented that he did not really want Kathryn to have to go alone, and she told him I might join her. I'd rather not be a complete surprise, so I am glad she told him.
Oh, that's so nice of you to go with her Shirley. Tough situation...I know you said you care for Tom, too having been family for so long. Wish things could be different....
Jo, it's definitely a good tired! Feels so good to lay down for awhile, didn't realize I'd been on my feet all day!
I'm hoping Michael will stay in NJ, I really don't want him driving in this weather we are expecting...not as bad here as east of us, they are calling for 3-5 here, and up to 10" east of I95.
he's got a really runny nose and cough, but not as bad as I was, at least so far! I have sort of bossed him around about resting this weekend so it hopefully won't get worse.
Nice slideshow, Bob. Haven't seen some of those before.
Michael is headed home tonight, so I'll see him in the morning, I'm sure I'll be asleep when he gets here. He should be OK coming down tonight, but the drive back on Monday will not be fun.
TV Show is over and as it was ending I realized that it was going to have one of those unfinished non-conclusion endings...... It was good.
Just found an Am Girl doll in the toy room. Alexis brought her doll with her and then when she got a new one here she must have gotten real involved with the new one. I am sure I will hear from her tomorrow.
Aaron & Val were up in NJ today at her grandparents... Headed back also this evening and maybe even home by now. Little worried about kids' plans on driving down to Ft Bragg NC on Monday in order to get their housing. I'm sure they'll use good judgment.
I guess I'd better check in, now that all the vooking and vaking is done. Food has been eaten, and eaten, and eaten. The biggest hit of our meal was Gene's pepperoni rolls and the country ham. Too much food! Karla brought steamed shrimp, raw oysters, spinach dip/Hawaiian bread, all sitting on the kitchen table. In the dining room was my turkey, mac and cheese and dressing, veggie medley. After sitting in the kitchen and family room and having cocktails, chatting endlessly and nibbling food from the table, NO ONE HAD ROOM LEFT FOR THE FOOD ON THE DINING ROOM TABLE! Sent leftovers home with the kids, some for GG and some for the vooks:) Jayden was with his parents and other grandmother, so my dearest Christmas wish did not come to pass:( It was a wonderful day, beginning with that beautiful, yet harmless snow this morning and ended with GG giving everyone a sweet hug and kiss and telling them how glad she was that they came. She was in really good spirits and ate well, too.
Good late Christmas evening. Christie just left......no slumber party after all. But she HAS been up since 4:30, so she is awfully tired. And with the iffy weather forecast, better for her to be at home just in case.....better that they come in the truck tomorrow than she try to go home in snow in her Grand Am. Need to catch up with you all!
Bob I just enjoyed a slide show and all of your photos have beauty. Now I would guess that the Motorcycle Lady is Sarah. And are all of the cats yours. I remember 2 before but I think you have added some.
Bob, Merry Christmas to you, too. Thanks for the pics---a very nice gift for us!
Sounds like everyone has had a wonderful day! So many goodies, and surrounded by your families. Paula, hoping that Michael arrives safely...don't blame him for wanting to make it home to Ma before the weather gets too bad.
I, too, am fading fast! Mai is one pooped pup, too. Heading for tub as soon as weather report is over.....hopefully we will be spared the brunt of the storm, but not sounding real good for eastern parts. Goodnight, and a final Merry Christmas. Hate that it is almost over. Happy Birthday, Jesus.
I guess everyone has turned in. They have all gone to bed here except Jack and myself. We are enjoying the peace and quiet. LOL Have been up since about 6:15when Zach came storming out of the study announcing he had to go to the potty fast. LOL However, he went back to bed as his parents had told him not to get up until the digital clock said 6:45. And, he obeyed. But, of course after taking him to the potty I was wide awake.
We had a great day. Really a very special day as we are not all together at Christmas every year, only every other year.
Have not read back on the blog so I do hope all are well and have had a beautiful Christmas.
I almost forgot to tell you that my Jillian and her medic saved an elderly ladies life this morning. They were called to her residence and she was either dead when they got there, or shortly after. The two of them brought her back and transported her to the hospital. Jillian had her PJ bottoms on and didn't even think of changing, so when she was in the hospital, more than a few of the workers there made fun of her. She told them, "Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do!"
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS SWEET DREAMS PRAYERS FOR ALL THANKS GIVEN FOR A WONDERFUL DAY
That is fantastic, Wanda. Know you are really proud of her. Well, Jack has not gone to bed but Laurel is here. Thought she had gone to bed but she only bathed and is sitting here reading.
My turn to head to the shower. Nite all! Sweet dreams.
Checking in late. You'll never guess~~it's raining again here in SoCal! Last time I looked outside was at dusk, and it was dry outside then. Must have started in the last couple of hours. They said rain was a 20% possibility tonight through Sunday morning, then it's supposed to clear up and stay that way through next Wednesday. Sure hope they are right!
Had a wonderful Christmas here. Spoke to the kids and the grandkids on the phone a few times. Our GGD Sierra (she's 4-1/2) was sleeping when we called. She's still fighting off a cold and needed some panda naps. We also spoke to my Sis-in-law, and our friend Andrea in Nevada, who had a whole houseful of family there. She made lasagna for dinner.
Our prime rib roast turned out SOOOO yummy! The Yorkshire pudding turned out perfectly, too, and the multicolor potatoes (with butter and parsley) were perfect, as were the Brussels sprouts with butter, garlic, and pine nuts.
Have been thinking of Judie and Darth (Love your post, Darth--ROFLMBO!), and hope their rib roast turned out well, too.
Lynne, I'm glad you were able to save the day, AND the cake! Hope both you and Steve feel MUCH better by morning! Sure hope neither one of you has to shovel snow!
Bob, LOVE your "Favorites" photos! They are really great! Especially liked the ones of the foxes. Hope that you and yours had a wonderful Christmas!
Little Miss Emma has been a really good pup all day. She is currently asleep in her crate, and snoring the cutest little puppy snores! She has been a real dynamo of energy at times today. Wish we could find a way to bottle it and sell it--we'd be millionaires!
Well, think I am going to go put my feet up and attempt to watch all of "A Christmas Carol." I love that one too, Margy! Have about 4 different versions on tape or DVD. I am making sure that the night light, porch light, and Christmas lights are lit. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are both enabled. Prayers for everyone, and many prayers of thanks have been said. Sleep cozy and warm with sweet dreams, everyone, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love every single one of you! :o]
When the new cam went on air, Outdoor TV posted this: We have a new camera and location for the 2011 nesting season. Bookmark this page and so you can easily access it when the eagles return in 2011.
I wrote them and asked that they clarify that it is a new Cam placement, NOT a new nest location....and that the eagles had never left.......obviously they have NOT, since same text is still there.
BWO was MT when I looked a little while ago....I actually looked there FIRST to see if there was snow yet! LOL---shame on me! Should have had enough faith to look at ours first!
PRAISE GOD!!! Even before coffee, I opened the nest only to find the usual and WHAT IS THAT?? SOMEONE ON BLOG SPEAKING OF EAGLE SIGHTING??????? Don't even know who yet - CELEBRATE . . . CELEBRATE!!! I burst into tears - oh, I can wait to see them now as long as they are HOME!!!!!!!!!!
I slept in a little this a.m. or I might have seen them too! OH WHAT A SHOCK that would have been - you girls are SO lucky!! Magpie: "falling off the chair" uh - huh that would have been me!!!!
Margy: I just realized you gave me the blueprint of your names - silly me! I wrote them down. OH, wait until the other ladies get on - they are going to be so HAPPY!!
Yeah, I generally don't like early or late phone calls, always bad news in my experience. I just missed the nest visit, cause I had walked outside to feed my birds.
I hear Kathryn upstairs showering. She said she wanted to leave about 9:00 this morning, so I had better head upstairs and get dressed.
I will check back later.
I see there is not much more snow on the ground than there was last night, just a light covering--a bit more than a dusting, I guess. Some on the street, though. But I think we have more here than they do west of here.
If I don't get back before tonight, you all keep a watch over the eagles for me.

Merry Christmas everyone Thanks for the new thread Steve. I hope you are feeling better.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU, STEVE AND A SPECIAL GREETING TO YOU, GLO AND DEX♥
Thanks for the new Christmas Thread.
Hi Glo and Dex ( :
The snow has melted in our eagles nest.
Dana, the Windows on Wildlife forum is where they moved the Maine forum;
Andy, birthday greetings to your Jen! What a wonderful day to be born!!
Snow has but stopped....just a few lazy flakes floating down. Cloudy, which I like so that lights on tree look pretty!! And NO WIND!!!!!!
Break time!
Eagle at BWE
Hi Eagle Folks.
We have a White Christmas, the cars outside are covered with snow.
I see an eagle on the BWO nest and also on the Victoria nest.
It takes a while to actually get to the nest cams because I have to wait for the Swiffer lady with her yellow duster to finish.
The thought just occurred to me... after looking at the BWE nest. It seems like those eagles are not visiting their own nest.
This gives me the hope that Belle & Lib are probably doing the same....visiting somewhere else at the moment, and will show up when they feel like it.
How does that sound?
Off to do some vooking.
Later.
Two eagles on the TH nest. Two, now, at the Victoria nest. Still one at the BWO nest.
I have not seen an eagle at the Pelican Harbor nest either. But there is some fresh greenery stuffed on the edges of their nest.
Back to vook.
BEagle, what makes you think the BWE eagles are not visiting their own nest?
Hey, maybe we could hook up Ed and Swiffer Lady and they'll live happily ever after!
OK, I have to tell you what happened last night.
I was on the phone with my Step Mom and I was icing a cake at the same time. She was in the middle of talking and I felt this THING on the back of my neck. I swiped it with my hand and OMG.....it was a STINKBUG, and it landed right in the middle of the cake. SO, I am mortified, and I want to scream and I can't because I don't want to give my Step Mom a heart attack! So I took a spoon and removed the offender and the icing in the general area and went on with my conversation. I was mortified! Then Steve came downstairs a few minutes later and I told him what happened and he LAUGHED! I did NOT see the humor at all!
A VERY MERRY XMAS TO EVERYONE!!!!
Hi Lynne2. I did not have to read the rest of your post to know what happened with the Stinko Buggo.
Can't you cut and paste on the cake?
Oh, I did! Cake saved, Stinkbug...not so much!
Thank you NN
Lynne great you saved the cake. If it were me I would be tempted to throw the whole thing away. But my son or anyone in my family would say it's okay and just cut away the SB part and not think another thing about it.
I have seen the eagles on the BWE nest but not so much lately. The cam was down there too.
BEagle, I saw them on the nest yesterday for awhile, they had brought food :)
Lynne, I went to dig out the silver chest from under my bed, and drug out a stink bug!
Family should be here soon.
It does look like something was added to the BWE nest when I checked just now.
Oh well. Trying not to be disappointed can be hard work.
Whew!
That might be the best stink bug escapade yet, Lynne!

Lion upon Lions upon Lions
cool how the precip falling at BWO looks on the cam pics!
It has been a merry Christmas here, too. Hunter has gone to Luray with his dad. It has started snowing here, and all of the children have gone back to their homes. Kathryn and I were watching, get this . . . Dog the Bounty Hunter. I think it's some auction show now.
ah yes, Dog the Bounty Hunter. One of my favorite Christmas series. LOL!
Shirley, you and Kathryn need a good Christmas movie!
They were hunting Santa this time, Lynne, so it was a Christmas special.
Kathryn and Hunter have changed the television viewing habits in this house.
Presents were given, dinner was consumed, dishes are done, company is gone, dogs are chillin', I'm grabbing a drink and watching a movie, I'm beat!
BBL
Now she is watching Storage Wars. Another fine show. Don't ask. I don't know.
uh oh, not a good sign when the DOG is chasing Santa!
Paula, it is a good 'beat' feeling!
Taking a break
BBILW
Tom and Hunter are almost to Luray. He said they got out of the snow soon after they left here. Luray is supposed to get snow, but we are expected to get more. I suppose this will be classified as a white Christmas.
It was okay. He had his grandchildren along.
Little kids.
They found Santa. I don't know much more.
Enjoyed Darth's riddles. So did Hunter.
Shirley, I just wanted to say that I've had Hunter and Kathryn on my mind this Holiday season...I am sure that Christmas for them was a bit difficult this year.
Watching a repeat on one of Tom Selleck's movies as Jesse Stone.
BBILW
oh my. Steve has found a show on how toilet paper is made. I have really taken this convenience for granted.
About to go upstairs for the evening. It was a busy day.
Tom commented that he did not really want Kathryn to have to go alone, and she told him I might join her. I'd rather not be a complete surprise, so I am glad she told him.
Merry Christmas Evening, Eagle Friends.
I just finished watching Scrooge, 1951 classic from A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens...
been waiting to see this again for a loooong time
Sounds like many warm and happy times were had today....hope everyone found a portion of happiness and fellowship, peace and joy
And I bet there was some special kinds of holiday feasting goin' on !
Wonderful post from Darth....
Thanks to everyone for all the Christmas greetings, and Happy Birthday to your Jen, Andrea...
Going to do one of my favorite things: A little reading before bed ♥
Thinking of all our precious ones not with us at Christmas time
God Bless Us, Every One
xo ♥
Oh, that's so nice of you to go with her Shirley. Tough situation...I know you said you care for Tom, too having been family for so long. Wish things could be different....
broken families face many difficult challenges during the holiday period
takes awhile for new traditions to be made...always helps when the principal parties have big hearts and caring intentions
God Bless All dealing with these situations....
Good Night.....
I am watching Dances with Wolves...a favorite...
Margy, hope you are off tomorrow and can enjoy some holiday happenings!
If couples can put the kids before themselves, then it can be an OK situation.
oh Paula, I hope he stays put, too. Going to be very bad, I'm afraid.
I still hope it goes away! I can't shovel at all, and Steve is really too sick to be out there. Too many people traveling tomorrow, too.
Margy, I'm so glad you got to enjoy your Christmas Carol movie!
Lynne, so sorry Steve isn't feeling well.
he's got a really runny nose and cough, but not as bad as I was, at least so far! I have sort of bossed him around about resting this weekend so it hopefully won't get worse.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Merry Christmas Bob!
Merry Christmas, Bob! How is Mrs. Bob?
Sarah is great. Thanks for asking.

Paula, hoping that Michael arrives safely...don't blame him for wanting to make it home to Ma before the weather gets too bad.
Shirley, you all be very careful tomorrow.
Leave the lights on for Michael, Paula.
Headed back the hallway...
Good Night All
Prayers for All especially for those traveling today and tomorrow..

BEagle, our eagles don't migrate, so it's not a matter of them "returning" per se. They stay here year round.
I, too, am fading fast! Mai is one pooped pup, too. Heading for tub as soon as weather report is over.....hopefully we will be spared the brunt of the storm, but not sounding real good for eastern parts.

Hi, Everyone!
Lynne,
I'm glad you were able to save the day, AND the cake! Hope both you and Steve feel MUCH better by morning!
Sure hope neither one of you has to shovel snow!
Bob,
LOVE your "Favorites" photos!
EAGLES IN THE NEST - - TWO OF THEM !!!
I can hardly type after nearly falling out of my chair !!!
Oh Merry Christmas Indeed !!!

BELLE AND LIB ARE HOME!!!!!!!!!! Late Christmas gift for us!!! Oh, we of little faith!!! Got a pic!!!!! Will put in album in a little bit!!!
Maybe they went on vacation, and are now getting down to business!
I had to call someone !
I just woke Dana up
she's happy and crying !!
Good Morning Lynn !!
Hallelujah !!
And now jsut one! Wind blowing the feathers.
Hi, Margy! So glad you saw them, too!!!!! The early birds get the proverbial worm, huh??!!!
Hmmmmm......just heard the sports report: the CARDINALS ruled yesterday......hoe 'bout THEM birds?? WhooHoo!
Make that HOW 'bout them birds!
Looked like some HP action! Came back to the tail-end of that action!!
one left then returned think it was Belle....
stick arrival...And Beaking !!
Oh this is glorious beyond description !
Looks like breakfast time....but someone is blocking view of the catch!
MIRACLE OF PRAYERS LIBERTY AND BELLE HAVE COME HOME.
Belle flew out then came back with a stick.
They both tried placing the stick. One on one end of stick and the other having same stick in beak.
I believe that was Liberty that just flew out of nest. Belle still there.
So guess they are bickering over stick placement rather than eating since you saw the stick come in, Margy!
And one gone....
I almost fell off the chair, too, Margy. Did not really expect to see anything but an MT nest when I brought up cam!!!!!
Another stick!
What a WONDERFUL MORNING this is.
Good Morning Hedgie-today is Christmas for you!!!!
Good Morning Margy your a sweet heart!!
WE ALL WILL HAVE CHRISTMAS TODAY!! This is OUR CHRISTMAS PRESENT!!
Definite nestorations happening!! Building up the side walls
WAKE UP EVERYBODY!!!!!! YOU ARE MISSING GOOD ACTION!
Hi, Dana. Yep, my Christmas today has started with a very special gift!!!!!
OUR PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED!
You can see the wind blowing their feathers.......they seem to be contemplating the cold
THANK YOU DANA, I had just turned the 'puter on to have a look, when you called. Oh, we are happy campers today!!
Morning Lynn.
Good Morning Wanda !! ☺
Oh, Come, All Ye Faithful !
Good Wonderful Morning Isn't it Wanda? hee hee I am so very happy and thankful.
And Here they Are....

I guess us Berkeley County Momsters struck it rich this morning...but there is bound to be more action through the day...
hoping EVERYONE gets to see our Royal Pair
I emailed Steve and sent a pic
Best wishes for a Blessed Day, everyone
Hey, all of locals are here, together:)♥♥♥♥

OH, YES...I DO HOPE ALL OUR MOMSTERS AND DADSTERS CAN SEE OUR ROYAL PAIR, IN PERSON AND NOT A PHOTO, TODAY!
BWO was MT when I looked a little while ago....I actually looked there FIRST to see if there was snow yet! LOL---shame on me! Should have had enough faith to look at ours first!
We locals sure got the gift this morning!
Hi, Wanda!!! Glad you got to see our pair, too.
WETA radio playing Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies....that's Us !
ttfn, will be watching ☺
God Bless Us, Every One
xoxo ♥
PRAISE GOD!!!
Even before coffee, I opened the nest only to find the usual and WHAT IS THAT?? SOMEONE ON BLOG SPEAKING OF EAGLE SIGHTING??????? Don't even know who yet - CELEBRATE . . . CELEBRATE!!!
I burst into tears - oh, I can wait to see them now as long as they are HOME!!!!!!!!!!
I am nursing a fat lip this morning....Mai got me! Kiss turned into a nip.......yikes! She drew blood again, but this was first time on my face!!
Hi FuzzleMa Irene...
you got Costume Lady/Wanda, WV gal Dana, Hedgie/Lynn and Margy/Magpie here front and center !
Irene, they'll be back!!!!!!
Our fears have been banished.......old nest is still Home Sweet Home!!
Yay! Reading about an eagle sighting!
Must read on . . .
I slept in a little this a.m. or I might have seen them too! OH WHAT A SHOCK that would have been - you girls are SO lucky!! Magpie: "falling off the chair" uh - huh that would have been me!!!!
OOh, glad you saw the eagles in the nest.
Some words here from Margy, about halfway into the article.
Journal article
Margy: I just realized you gave me the blueprint of your names - silly me! I wrote them down. OH, wait until the other ladies get on - they are going to be so HAPPY!!
My heart was racing, Irene and my fingers were all akimbo!
funny the habits we have, I brushed teeth and washed face, then punched the on button on coffee pot then came to the nest cam !
I put two sets of pics on Magpie's Roost link....newer set shows up first, then the first one.......
I am out of practice !
Good Morning Irene, Megan and Shirley.
Just finished adding picture to album. I was shaking so excited!!
Oh it takes awhile to get all our monikers and real names matched up, Irene...
Thanks Lynn.....I had a good talk with John....premiere journalist, he.....
Pictures should come out through yahoo Momster mail Margy.
Oh Whoops! Sorry Megan
I mean thank YOU for the link to Journal article....
OH THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
Margy, it had to take you 5 minutes to find your fingers on the keyboard - I can understand that!
believe me I magpie-ed a lot more than he wrote....
WOOO HOOOO YIPPEEEEEE WOWOWWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!! OOOOOOOOOO WOOO HOOOO
I wanted to make a lot of phone calls but early morning telephone rings can be so frightening....
You came to mind, immediately Megan because I know you are an early riser ♥
Steve has received the good news !!!
Thanks again for that Cam, Steve !!
Yeah, I generally don't like early or late phone calls, always bad news in my experience. I just missed the nest visit, cause I had walked outside to feed my birds.
Now here's your next morning treat:
NEW SUNDAY THREAD IS UP !
I put the last two photos on WILD AND WONDERFUL before they flew off:)
Going over to the
