Good morning! Stayed over on the old thread quickly scanning the comments.
So, no eagles this morning and everyone is blowing away in the wind. Still cold here but it is up to 35 and the sun is shining. We have rain coming though later this week.
Saw the discussions of pressure cookers. Had one, never used it so put it in a garage sale long ago. Have done nicely without it. I too had a fear of it! LOL
My mother had a pressure cooker that she used for canning. She talked about people ending up with green beans stuck to the ceiling. I have never used one myself, though she did not seem to have any problems.
My canning experience has been limited to tomatoes. I canned lots of tomatoes when we lived in Ohio, but haven't done any since we came to Virginia.
I have a confession that you can laugh at. For the longest time I could not figure out who and what "Ed" you were talking about. Never got around to asking about who you were talking about. Then one day the light bulb went off. LOL
Thanks for the call over. I have been trying to get something out in my yahoo email and it isn't giving me enough of the letter area to look at. Don't know how to straighten that problem out grrrrr
Have had our present dish washer for 14 years. Still works great, however the touch pad was looking pretty bad. Just yesterday Laurel said "Mother!" and peeled off the film that was on the touch pad. LOL Now the touch pad looks brand new. I sometimes wonder about myself!! But, hey, Jack did not see the film either!
It is Windy to say the least. My porch mat has blown off the deck into the yard. I am grateful the snow storm missed us. Looks like OC boardwalk is not the place to be.
I have blood work to be done but I can wait a day or two. Think I just want to stay inside.
Catching up again. Reposted my last comment from old thread! My Grams, my Mom and I have all used pressure cookers without ever having a problem. I think the key is to lower stove temp/flame once the thingy starts rocking! I have always primarily used mine for potatoes and whenever I do a corned beef dinner. But can be used for many things!
Dana, sounds like your resolution is too high. Bottom right of screen just above menu bar, see the little magnifying glass w/ a +/- in it? What number is it reading. Take it down to 100% or even 75% if necessary. Sometimes mine changes all on its own for no reason.
Lolly, I had been using my new cell phone this summer with film on it for a couple of weeks before Shannon saw it and pulled it off!!!! I thought I had green tinged edges on it!!
Dishwasher repair people will come tomorrow. I called the place I bought the machine to get a recommendation for a repair shop. They were very nice. I bought this dishwasher on New Year's Eve two years ago. I made a good guess when I said I got it two years ago.
It started making odd noises and then just stopped doing much of anything. It washes, but not very well.
It is dangerous out there. Wind blew trashcan right off the heavy chain and I had it wrapped through the handle and over the lid. ARGH. Back in place now and I tied the chain!!! Found one of windchimes on the ground in pieces. :(
I just pulled up the White Rock eagle cam. There is an adult there. If you want to experience seasickness you may want to go there. THAT tree is a swaying. Woah.
Lolly, got you card----so glad you used that pic for it! It is so picturesque! Lowreeda's was lovely, too, with one of her eagle pics, and if I remember correctly, I think Glo used one of hers, too. Time now for reminiscing by looking at all my cards again this week!
Sure hope we get clear skies tonight... ISS makes a flyover hereabouts around 5:44 - will be High and Bright at -4, about as bright as Venus in the morning sky.... will rise from the WSW here in Martinsburg
took a little journey with my camera after work Christmas day, got one picture at the local park, then went to Swinging Bridge Sunday to check on things there: Creek is frozen upstream and nearly so, downstream
saw one red-shouldered hawk fly through, but not much other wildlife...
Posted pictures on Feathers, Fur and Miscellaneous link
Hi BEagle
I need to check these links and cams you all are posting !
China is all put away, along with pots an pans. I plan not to do anything else considered work today!! Spent some time down on the floor playing with Mai until she started getting a little too rough. Leash lesson scheduled for later. We missed yesterday!
I will say this about Ed. I had problems with my lawnmower because it didn't get the proper winterizing some years ago. I suppose I could have used Sta-bil for it.
I use something similar to Sta-Bil. It's called SeaFoam. It helped-----they dry water moisture out of the gas!
Thanks! Jo, I just remembered that I DIDN'T post Mai pics Fri. I sent some to the foster mom, and MEANT to post----guess my brain was on overload! Well, will do it another time.....already turned PC off. Laptop platform (Windows 7) is not compatible with my camera software----argh!).
Well, I have collapsed. Laurel and I took the boys to get their flu shots. Jacob cried, had to be held still on his mommy's lap. Came home, loaded Laurel's mini van to the hilt, ate lunch and they left. It is quiet now, except for the washer running and the dish washer running. LOL
Hi, Gang, The exterminator just left. He didn't find any new dead rats, thank God! He will be back on 1/5 to pull all the traps.
Little Miss Turbo Emma has been running up and down our hall like a psycho dog, playing with her squeaky slipper chew toy! She wore herself out pretty well, and as soon as I put her in her crate, went to sleep. Now's my chance to get some housework done!
Shirley, Hope they figure out what ails your dishwasher! Does it just not wash very well, or do the dishes come out filmy? Ours was leaving a film on the dishes. When the guy came out, he said our area has really hard water, and told us to get some GLASS MAGIC. That stuff really works! We put 4 Tbsp. in the bottom of the dishwasher, and a Finish powerball in the dispenser. Dishes turn out great now! LIKE the eagle picture! Well, better run and get some things accomplished. BBL!
I received new dishes for Christmas. So the dishwasher has been washing all the new dishes. My old is still in great condition. LOL They never chipped or looked worn....I was just tired on them. Also, they were hard to load into the dishwasher...the plates were deep. I love my new ones, Mikasa Italian Countryside. They are creamy white, no flowers like my old ones. I also got one of those new little video cameras. Fits into your pocket. More fun! Just have to learn how to use it.
Annie is sitting here purring. She is happy to have the house quiet again.
I want you to know I have not vooked since Christmas day and then I was just putting prepared dishes into the oven. All that vooking last week makes Christmas day and the days following very pleasant.
Good afternoon! Been trying to put boxes & gift bags away. Don't know where some gifts are going yet because I don't know where "away" is!!!! It seems like Sunday again since I don't go to work until TU. We've had a lot of wind here, too. Keeps knocking electric out & then back on. Most clocks are 88:88!!!! Be back to check the nest!
Andy, glad that there weren't anymore rats in the attic. Isn't it funny how the dogs love the squeaky toys?? Mai's doggy has one in each paw.....she uses it as her sleeping pal, and then drags it around the house, often running in circles with it----it's big enough that she trips over it and then goes tumbling!
Lolly, I had beautiful Mikasa dishes once upon a time. Beigish-tan with little shamrocks encircling the surface of the outer edge. It had large plates that were a uniform 1/2" deep. It was a 16 piece place-setting set......and I didn't even get to keep half. :(
I just read this...makes me furious! Michael Vick(notes) has been getting support from all sides during his road to redemption. He's now getting it from the leader of the free world.
NBC's Peter King reports that Barack Obama called Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie earlier this week to congratulate him for giving Vick a second chance
Lolly, my girls got me one of those Flip Video cameras too. I love it...very easy to use. Push button on side to turn on and then push the red record button on the middle front. Too cool:)
My old dishes were Mikasa. They have held up so well that I wanted Mikasa again. Hope they do as well.
Laurel has been married for 13 years and hers are terribly chipped and the finish looks worn. Not Mikasa. Think I am going to tell her to pick new dishes and then everyone can start giving her dishes as gifts. She needs to pick them out though.
I am really excited about the camera, Wanda. Michael gave them to Laurel, Ashley and myself. Have charged it and learned to use it, but need to download the program to take care of the pictures.
I need to work on putting some presents away myself. Actually, it is going to be like Christmas again. I have been so busy with everyone here that I have not had time to appreciate my gifts.
Lolly, if Laurel's chipped dishes are her everyday dishes, might be best to keep them until the boys are older!!! Kids can be careless with them when they are learning to wash/dry, put in or take out of dishwasher and cupboards, and setting table!!!
Wanda, that's despicable...or should we say devickable, of Obama to praise a jerk like him. All anyone has to do is listen to him and watch him when he talks about it that he has no remorse and does not mean a word of it. He's too glib.
My dishwasher is not getting things clean enough. Something at the bottom of a glass, sometimes a bowl is not clean, or the silverware. Things it was getting clean before.
Well, I guess you’re all wondering about the Rib Roast and if we did ourselves in. Not so. With Judie’s coaching and my vooking, it turned out beautifully. There was rare to medium rare in the center the way I like it and well done on the outside for Judie. In fact, we liked it so well, we made another meal of it the following night.
I am getting pretty good about getting things from the kitchen to the upstairs bedroom with a minimum of effort. I make great use of plastic shopping bags. Climbing the stairs, I look like a one man band with a tray in one hand and some condiments in the other and both pockets filled to overflowing, not to mention the bags hanging off of my belt. And I won’t mention the arthritis in my ankles and knees. Oh the joys of modern maturity.
Judie is hanging in there. She tried her hand at ironing today. Although she managed with some difficulty, she was able to reach the ironing board from the wheel chair and got caught up on her ironing.
As for her health, the jury is still out and we go to the doctor’s tomorrow to get his verdict. We have our fingers – if not our feet -- crossed. We’ll let you know how it goes.
Like the rest of you, we keep checking the nest. I showed Judie the picture of Belle and Liberty posted by Steve. We are both ecstatic about their visit and hope they will be with us again this year.
Hope all is well with you and yours. With our warmest.
So GOOD to hear from your Darth- tell Judie we said Hi ( : Praying for her doctors appointment tomorrow.
We now know who to hire when Judie gets better....and we are sick...you sound like a PRO ( :
Lynn that is the BEST story you have told about Mai. I think it is even the most fun one. I am imaging her sleeping with that toy plus tumbling over. lol
Darth, it was great to hear from you and Judie. Think of you guys often. Your rib roast sounded great. Making me thinking we shoukd try one soon. Boy I am going to crash early tonight. I am so sleepy right now!
Think I am going to run into town. Need to get something,.
Going to Laurel's tomorrow. Jack has a garage door opener to install, a present to them and I am going to help Laurel at Fayes.
Lynn or Margy...10 police cars just went flying down our road, sirens and lights going. Have you heard anything? Our doors are all locked and we are BOLO!
LOL Loretta. Our "away" is full. Another reason not to get out decorations - didn't want them to lose their space. lol
Nice to hear from Darth & Judie and that she's on her way to recovery. Is she liking Darth's vooking too much? Just kidding, of course. Enjoy it while you can Judie. (((hugs)))
Want to thank everyone for their Christmas cards. I wasn't able to download the "list" and didn't get out to buy any cards. Just know your greetings mean a lot. You're all a great "bunch" of people and I have lived up to the saying, "I came for the eagles but stayed for the friends I made." God bless you all.
It's now time to make the chicken pot pie but cheated by buying the noodles. until later...
Hi Diann ( : Glad you stopped in chicken pot pie sounds warm and good. I am glad you are with us too. I loved your emails. Thank you! They were Christmas Times.
Diann, I have BOUGHT NOODLES also. I would have such a mess in the kitchen trying to make "HOME MADE", that it wouldn't be worth it;) I'm making turkey noodle soup. I'm getting pretty tired of turkey now...won't have anymore for a while.
BE ON THE LOOK-OUT, PAULA. 10 Police cars sorta tells me something really serious is going on up the road. Lynn must not be at home. She has a scanner and usually knows when something serious is going on.
Speed limit is 35 on our road and I know those police cars were doing 70 mph. I guess they all slowed down for the curve just past our house...did't hear any crashes!
Wanda, it's some guy being chased from Jeff Co. Stolen truck??? No licesne plate. Stop sticks put out at the county line by our guys. Think they got him....not sure if wrecked or not. Sounds like extensive criminal history.
Their 2nd chase of the day----first one went into MD on 340. They had one on Sat., too, I think. It was in the paper. So very dangerous.
evening all! Just popping in to say a quick hello! Been resting again today and I am happy to report that the pain in my side is finally on the mend.
Steve went in late and was supposed to do night run, but he called and is on his way home with yet another last minute who cares if you have a life schedule change.
I'm going to whip up some dinner for him and head to bed early. My first day back at Irvine, then babysitting tomorrow since I got sick and I want to be well rested!
Hey Lynn....Oprah show was rerun of TSOM today so I got to watch it!!!
Darth, your roast sounds perfect. I like the rare part!! Poor Judie---trying to iron sitting down is always tough. Surely she didn't need anything that badly!!! WIll be anxiouys to hear the Drs. report tomorrow. I can just picture you navigating the stairs!!! Please keep a free hand on the rail!!!!! Hugs to you both. Tell Judie we miss her big-time!
Lynne, so glad you are feeling better! :) NO RELAPSES! Good that you got to see the show!! Perfect timing since it was just the movie was just on last night! Did it bring a few tears to your eye? You did hear that Julie Andrews' husband passed last week, right?
Hunter tells me that "supper" is not a word and that the evening meal is "dinner." I don't know how he learned so much in ten years that he can re-educate his grandma so easily.
Been watching the phoebe hummingbird nest today. That hummer is a lively little thing. Kathryn walked by and commented. "That's not an eagle." Nope. About as opposite as a bird can be from an eagle.
Thanks, Lynn, for the skinny on the speeding police cars. We were so very curious. I wanted to go down the road and see if we could see what was going on. Gene said NO, they might have a shoot-out or something like that, that we don't want to get in the middle of. I guess he was right in keeping me home:)
Ooh...I ate too much! Feel like I am wasting my energy with the fire----I think the wind is sucking all the heat up the chimney, and the gas stove is still coming on! It's SUPPOSED to die down after 9----sure hope so.
Having leftovers again tonight and probably turkey pot pie tomorrow or Wed.
And on the important subject...I use supper and dinner interchangeably. Lunch is lunch unless it is the big meal of the day and then I would probably call it dinner...like Sunday dinner, Growing up we always had a big meal after church. It was usually a pot roast. It was dinner.
Wanda when my first husband was a policeman in Baltimore. I always knew what car he was driving or in. I had a scanner and he told me dNEVER NEVER come in the area where you know I'm on a call. I didn't listen one time. There was a shoot out at a tavern near where we lived. So the neighbor and I went up to look. When the shooting started I hide. I could see my first husband entering the doorway of the tavern. Then more shoot rang out. I was so so scared for him. Until that time in my life as him being a policeman. I had really never felt that kind of fear. DON'T DON'T EVER GO FOLLOWING POLICE SIRENS!!!! SO GLAD GENE KEPT YOU THERE.
I have a Santa garden flag that hangs out on the fence. Well, I have taken it down and now have a TCU purple flag flying. Saturday is the big day! Go Frogs! LOL
So, no eagles tonight. I certainly hope yesterdays appearance wasn't their swan song.
Evening! Hope everyone is staying warm and safe. It is windy and cold here too. Still lots of snow. The wind blew it out of the trees but very little melted at all. Going to be a long week!
Herald Mail reported: Police capture man who attempted to rob bank
RANSON, W.Va. — A man who attempted to rob a branch of City National Bank in Ranson on Monday evening was captured minutes later after a vehicle pursuit with police, Ranson Police Chief William "Bill" Roper said.
I'm not really AWOL - I was being a LURKER today. I disliked watching the nest and then NO night light there yet. Really wish we could get 2 days in a row seeing our Royal Couple.
I am very sluggish today - windy weather - can't warm up - after holiday blues... not sure what but glad I have all your comments to read.
My fault entirely about the Christmas List....I had told you I would get it to you.... I could not open the attachment either, had to ask for help from Paula last year, and never got around to asking for the same help this year :( I am so sorry !!
But, we can make arrangements to get that to you, is lots of fun through the year for birthdays and things, you know, snail mail!
am I living up to my moniker? yak yak yak, trying to catch up...
Well Lynne, if YOU have to work on your anniversary, guess you and Steve can say Misery loves Company since he has to work also....though I am sorry to read of that.... just dream of the evening time when you will both be together ♥ ♥
Hope your recovery continues....please still baby yourself though....
State Police was involved in that pursuit/bank robbery thing....and a few of the investigators also probably...does add up to a pile of cruisers ! Glad no one got hurt !
Wow, Lawyer did a fantastic job on my Will, Power of Attorney, and Medical Power of Attorney....now I just have to bring the POA's (one primary, one secondary) up on where to find things here if needed.
Will was interesting to say the least, divided things up into fourths, and within than, some 1/3's and stuff...but it's the way I want it and provides for James if necessary....
xoxox Best Wishes for a good, warm, comforting and peaceful evening
I think it was too darn cold for our Eagles to visit the nest... even though they have done so in the past.... maybe this year is just different, and maybe they don't like the projections that the new camera thingys make....might still be getting used to the "intrusion" into their "Space."
Let's keep hopeful, Folks
I braved the cold also, Lynn to see dear old ISS - right on time, bright and zippy, six minutes of viewing pleasure ! Saw it go "poof" out like a lightbulb also
Routinely calling the midday meal dinner seems to be a country thing....I guess because the farmers all ate a big meal then. In this area there are probably more people who say dinner instead of lunch, and supper instead of dinner. I always have to verify times when invited for dinner!!! Like Lolly, when I was growing up, DINNER was after Church on Sundays and supper in the evening, but dinner was the evening meal the other 6 days of the week, and there was no supper!
Don't remember who asked about the number of Martinsburg police cars....a bunch, I know----enough that the officers who live out in the county can drive their cruisers home. But that is City and they weren't involved in this evening's incident. It was Jeff. Co., state police and Berkeley Co. (where 4 of us momsters live). Didn't hear anything about a bank robbery, tho', when I heard it all on the scanner.
negative, Loretta... we pretty much know when it's Straight Up Midnight... sometimes, people on the radio call us and wish us Happy New Year's - the fire stations.... THEN, we start getting the calls about shots fired ! I probably will NOT be kissing any of my co-workers though
I'm glad you have enjoyed your holiday break...wish it would last forever for you !!
Oh funny comment from Diann..about not getting Christmas decorations out...so they would not lose their place !! Good one, Diann !
No New Years Eve plans here. Probably will be in bed at 12:01. LOL Gotta get up early to watch the Rose Parade. Have to see the TCU band as well as the local hs band. A school district in the area has a special band for the parade made up of band members from 3 high schools. They have been running in preparation for the parade. Have to be in shape. One band member is in a wheel chair being pushed by his father.
No new years plans here...so Ajay asked if I could watch the kids while she goes in to be with John, as he is working at the bar that night...but he is on the restaurant side, so he should make some decent $$$
Going to start putting things to bed here including myself
Thinking of everyone....even those we do not "see" here....
Prayers for a good night's sleep, and a good Tuesday, and special thoughts about the "Germany Gang" (well, golly, I guess we have to have a new name for them now, Jo... ) as they start their Southward trek...bet this is a Christmas that stands out above all the others before it
Mai is sleeping soundly. Bath made me drowsy. Nothing on TV that really catches my eye. So I am going to get between my fleece sheets and try to get a couple of hours while baby sleeps!! Will check back later when I get up---it's never IF now!!! Hope everyone rests well! Thanks for comments on my pics! Prayers for all.
Hair all done--maybe I should sit up all night!! LOL Need another coat of nail polish...glitter for New Years! One cat disappeared under the bed & now is out to probably get on top. What a life! Hope to see the wind go away in the morrow~~~Pleasant Feather Dreams & Prayers for all ;>)
The Ft Bragg gang will be leaving in the early am hours - thinking of 7 hrs travel. Candy says the road crews in NC are competent - kids shouldn't have travel problems. The surprise is that Samantha is staying in MD for the week and then Jan 1 the other grandparents will take her home plus the things that wouldn't fit in the car tonight. So Yes, Suzan, I am having a New Year's Eve Party at my house with Samantha! Whoo Hoo - get out the ice cream and pop corn and a good movie.
I asked about the number of police cars in Martinsburg. I've not really ever been there--no closer than Wanda and Gene's anyway, but didn't figure it's too big of a town, and that ten cars would be a good percentage of the force, but what do I know?
Oh, that is a wonderful group to share January birthdays. LOL Going to add to my new dishes for my birthday.
Have been working on my neglected feet and hands this evening. I am now all buffed and lotioned and my nails polished, but no glitter!
Sounds like a great NY's at your house Jo. More fun! The party we go to usually has been cancelled. The friends who give this party every yearr are in California for the Rose Bowl. Our neighbor is going as well. I am jealous!
But, after two very busy weeks and two Christmases, I am more than ready to stay home.
Well, I'm up----fire needs wood. Mai sleeps on.....don't WANT to wake her. Sure as I'm sitting here, once I get back to bed is when she WILL awaken!! Wind has died way down, thankfully!!
That worked! Got the stove fed and she woke up! Been out and now hope that she will dettle back down after a little lovin'! Emma must be letting Andy snooze, too! Goodnight again!
Good early morning! Have a good day at work, Margy. Hope our birds make an appearance before you leave. Winds have picked up again---grrrr! Fire is compeletely gone. I'm not gonna mess with it until winds stop! Just not worth the effort and waste of the wood when the heat just all goes up the chimney! BWE back down again STILL.
I want you all to know I have NOT STOP my PRAYER TIME AT NOON about our eagles to return to the nest. Until I see them there constantly and laying eggs. I WILL BE USING NOON AS MY TIME TO PRAY. I feel God allowed them to return. Due to PRAYER. Sometimes HE wants us to keep up the vigil. SO PLEASE JOIN ME AND OTHERS IN THIS SPECIAL TIME FOR LIBERTY AND BELLE. Thank You All
GOOD MORNING DANA... Agree that prayers should continue. We pray for so many other things, so why not for these eagle, who give so many peopld so much pleasure. Maybe our Lord will send down Saint Francis to whisper in the ears (do eagles have ears?) and tell them that they are breaking our hearts and to return to their Sycamore Palace:)
♫♪♫♪HAPPY ANIVERSARY, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, HAAAAPY ANNIVERSARY♫♪♫♪ Have a wonderful day (or evening) Lynne and Steve, our Love Birds;) 50 more to go to catch up with me and the Capt.:) And Jo and Ed are 53 year survivors;)
It is 28° here in Nestville and sunny, going up to 37°. The wind has died down considerably. Maybe by this evening, the eagles will feel more comfortable about flying conditions and visit at SUPPER/DINNER time....what do you think, Shirley?
Good morning! Kept my eye on the nest while reading the paper. Lib Belle.....where are you?
Gloomy day here, our sunshine has gone. 44 and rain starting this afternoon, thunderstorms tomorrow, but no snow. We do need the rain so not complaining!!!
LOL Jack just came in from carrying out the garbage. It is pick up day. He says it is an admirable pile. I would think so, 9 people here for Christmas for several days!
BLOGGER COP STILL HATES ME: Wont let me post my Martinsburg Journal comments, so, I will try it in increments:
If I may take up some space on this blog, I would like for those who were with us last night when I mentioned that 10 police cars with sirens and lights going an traveling at a high rate of speed, passed our house. This is the account of what happened at that time:
RANSON - A suspect in an attempted bank robbery at a Ranson bank drive-thru was apprehended Monday after a high speed pursuit with police that ended in a cornfield in Berkeley County.
The driver, later identified as 40-year-old Mark Daniel Haines, of Wheeling, Ohio, was taken into custody by police shortly after Deputy Scott Myers with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department deployed spike strips at the intersection of Winebrenner Road and Files Cross Road.
He was captured by members of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, including Sheriff Robert "Bobby" Shirley, and officers with the Ranson Police Department, police said.
Haines was taken to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department for processing and later transported to Eastern Regional Jail to await arraignment on multiple charges in Jefferson and Berkeley counties.
Berkeley County Sheriff Kenneth "Kenny" Lemaster Jr. could not confirm if investigators believe Haines is the same suspect believed responsible for a string of bank robberies and attempted bank robberies in Maryland and Berkeley County this month.

Good morning!
Hope it was a bag of used wrappings you had put out for the trash, Paula.
I couldn't put a bag outdoors here and expect to find it again, either.
With their big ears, the bassets might fly away this morning.
Monday, December 27, 2010 10:37:00 AM
Guess everyone will blow over here at some point, LOL
Yes, it was used stuff Shirley. Hope you enjoy your week off! Did you get much snow?
Flying Basset
Wouldn't want this to happen to my hounds.
Got two or three inches, I guess, Paula. I see lots of bare ground now, but I don't want to go out there!! The wind is ferocious.
LOL, love the flying basset!
Thanks for the call over! Good morning everyone! Lurking and working! Holler if you see our wonderful, beautiful Royal couple!!
Blow over, blow away, blow down, or something, Paula.
LOL
It was very good to sleep in this morning. Now, I need to find a dishwasher repair person. Fairly new dishwasher is not working very well.
LOL
Kid is up. Dog is ecstatic.
Thanks for the call over. I have been trying to get something out in my yahoo email and it isn't giving me enough of the letter area to look at. Don't know how to straighten that problem out grrrrr
Going to read comments in here.
Maybe Ed is spending some time with his family instead of crying in his boat, lol
Hedgie I can see Mai running now lol
Have had our present dish washer for 14 years. Still works great, however the touch pad was looking pretty bad. Just yesterday Laurel said "Mother!" and peeled off the film that was on the touch pad. LOL Now the touch pad looks brand new. I sometimes wonder about myself!! But, hey, Jack did not see the film either!
Thanks and Good Morning Steve
It is Windy to say the least. My porch mat has blown off the deck into the yard. I am grateful the snow storm missed us. Looks like OC boardwalk is not the place to be.
I have blood work to be done but I can wait a day or two. Think I just want to stay inside.
Wanda - love Jayden's picture.
My Mother used a pressure cooker for canning a lot. No problems for many a years.
Now she has a smaller one. She is always using it for meats. She loves her pressure cooker.
I just have always been afraid of them. Don't know why nothing ever happened badly when lived at home.
Never seen anything bad happen. Heard stories.
How do you know when the meat is done?????
Kind of cold for boating. Even Ed isn't that dumb.
Well, where ever Ed has gone, he is not missed. Poor Ed!
Have not had breakfast, going to go eat a bite.
Paula, know you are enjoying having Michael at home.
But if Ed is paying for our camera expenses, we do need him.
Just would be nice to have variety.
Okay, that link is not working. Let me try again.
Carolina Bird Club
Bald Eagle Picture
Really like this picture. Thought I had already posted it.
My delete earlier; the link didn't work.
A huge eddy of wind just scared the poop right back into Mai!!!! Sorry---just too funny not to share. She ran like the wind, too!! Poor pup.
BBL.
Flying bassett looked SCARED, too!
Dana, you cook by timing based on weight with a pressure cooker.
I got a brochure about that Carolina Bird Club while we were at the beach, Shirley. Cool, huh??
Love that eagle pic, too!!
Just powered up desktop so I can post pics of my gifts.
Got some leftovers sorted out for Michael. Gonna get dressed and head into work shortly. Catch ya'll later!
Yes, it looks like they have lots of resources, Lynn. I thought about you when I saw their website.
Those eagles look fierce. And I enjoyed the pictures of the young ones.
It is dangerous out there. Wind blew trashcan right off the heavy chain and I had it wrapped through the handle and over the lid. ARGH. Back in place now and I tied the chain!!! Found one of windchimes on the ground in pieces. :(
The wind always blows my rocking chair forwards onto the little bench, except last week it was blown completely backwards !
Hello More Eagle Fans
Hi Eagle People.
I think Ed took off with the yellow swiffer lady.

It's LUNCH time----turkey sammich looming!
Sure hope we get clear skies tonight... ISS makes a flyover hereabouts around 5:44 - will be High and Bright at -4, about as bright as Venus in the morning sky....
will rise from the WSW here in Martinsburg
My porch furniture is blowing around. I probably should go out there and do something about it, but I am still in my pajamas.
took a little journey with my camera after work Christmas day, got one picture at the local park, then went to Swinging Bridge Sunday to check on things there: Creek is frozen upstream and nearly so, downstream
saw one red-shouldered hawk fly through, but not much other wildlife...
Posted pictures on Feathers, Fur and Miscellaneous link
Hi BEagle
I need to check these links and cams you all are posting !
sun nice on the NCTC nest right now...sunny and windy !
That's the distance cam. The close up doesn't seem as bad. I wonder why.
?

China is all put away, along with pots an pans. I plan not to do anything else considered work today!!
Spent some time down on the floor playing with Mai until she started getting a little too rough. Leash lesson scheduled for later. We missed yesterday!
Mits used to have to bungee cord her deck furniture at the beach...she was quite skilled in that !
good luck with all that, Shirley...and Lynn...and everyone else
NOW it is time for me to head to Charles Town
Best wishes for a good day, everyone...
xoxoxo ☺
I will say this about Ed. I had problems with my lawnmower because it didn't get the proper winterizing some years ago. I suppose I could have used Sta-bil for it.
I will be checking Lynn's Lair for pictures later !!!
We had the sun come out here.....
momentarily. The sun did not make the snow stop falling though.
I enjoy seeing the sun shining on the NCTC nest. It give a 'warming' feeling.
Hi Magpie
Oh no! I did not winterize my mower!!
Hedgie. Take it easy.
Did you see the somersault touchdown by the Skins?
Probably not too late, BEagle.
Will tried to start mine recently, though, and decided I need a new one. He was going to winterize it.
I will think about that later. Fortunately, it isn't as expensive as Ed's boat.
I will get the mower checked this pm.
Thanks StrongH

GOOD MORNING
ON A MONDAY...
vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
Technical problems at BW I see. Our picture is looking good though.
I accidentally got BW's temp up this morning..32°.. WHAT!?
We're cool in So Cal, but not that cool. It's about 47° now and should top out at about 67.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Margy enjoy trip to Charles Town and hold onto your bibs!!!!!
Phoebe is very busy on her nest today.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Logging in on PC.
Thanks Jim for letting us know. I didn't have Phoebe on laptop. Now I got it and have the nest up.
Okay, pics on my Lair!!
Jim I don't see her being busy but I do see the rose limb and nest blowing around.
Beautiful gifts Hedgie. I am glad you shared pictures of them.
Sorry to post and run. Busy agenda for the next two days.
Later.
Lynn - your eagle gifts are beautiful
I was hoping for some pics of Mai, also
on your liar.
Yes, BEagle---saw that TD!!!
Lynn I posted a comment about your tree and presents. ( :
Good afternoon everyone. Must catch up here, but noticed that Paula has lost some wrapping paper. Did it go the same place as last year's garland?
And Shirley has some flying bassets.
Margie, glad you have the day to watch for our pair. Will be watching for a post that they made an appearance.
... off to catch up here.
LOL
Hi, Gang,
The exterminator just left.
Shirley,
Hope they figure out what ails your dishwasher!
I have to go for a nap hope to bbl
OMG! Hope no one's Xmas decorations blew away!!!!Where are you Ceil?? LOL
Laurel has been married for 13 years and hers are terribly
chipped and the finish looks worn.
BBL
I loved what Lowreeda said about putting her presents away, but didn't know where "away" was!:)
Lolly, if Laurel's chipped dishes are her everyday dishes, might be best to keep them until the boys are older!!! Kids can be careless with them when they are learning to wash/dry, put in or take out of dishwasher and cupboards, and setting table!!!
Does it look to any of you like there is a depression in the nest. Like they were in working on nest cup?????? Maybe just my eyes???
I sent around 2 pictures to compare.
I think it's the outer edges being built up, Dana, that makes it look deeper in the middle.
Wanda, that's despicable...or should we say devickable, of Obama to praise a jerk like him. All anyone has to do is listen to him and watch him when he talks about it that he has no remorse and does not mean a word of it. He's too glib.
Looks like a nest cup to me, Dana. Maybe they were busy working on the nest while the cam was down.
Opened nest cams. Guess I'll wait awhile. C'mon down, Birds!!!!
Lol, etc., when you've been m,arried or in one place so many years, you don't know where "away" is!! ☺
Then again, maybe Lynn is right. I will defer to the experts. But I do think it looks like they have been working on the nest.
My dishwasher is not getting things clean enough. Something at the bottom of a glass, sometimes a bowl is not clean, or the silverware. Things it was getting clean before.
Cooper hawk was in tree next door having a snack! Probably a smaller bird. Kinda sad, but everybody's got to eat. I'll be counting squirrels tomorrow!
Hi, Darth here.
Darth [and Judie, too]
I meant to say egg cup.
Hi Darth,
So good to hear from you. I hope we will also be hearing from Judie soon. This has been a long haul.
Prayers that the doctor's visit goes well.
Rib roast sounds really good. Maybe I should try one.
Need to get busy and do some things around here. I have wasted the entire day.
I am imaging her sleeping with that toy plus tumbling over. lol
Darth prayers for your arthritis. Old Arthur ain't no fun!!!
Got to get busy, too. Will lower the nest. If anyone comes, please holler!!!!
Dana, the nest looks different because you are looking at it in two different lights in your pictures.
Hi again.
Loved the eagle pix.
STAYED LOCKED UP AND HAVE YOU GUN READY WANDA!!!! DON'T KNOW IF YOU HEAR LET US KNOW.
Hi Diann ( : Glad you stopped in chicken pot pie sounds warm and good. I am glad you are with us too. I loved your emails. Thank you! They were Christmas Times.
BOLO?
I had a boneless rib roast for Christmas. It was delicious.
good for you Darth, you're getting the hang of it! Love and hugs to you both!
Diann, I have BOUGHT NOODLES also.
I would have such a mess in the kitchen trying to make "HOME MADE", that it wouldn't be worth it;)
I'm making turkey noodle soup.
I braved the wind.....ISS went right over my house!! Lovely, as always!
Good evening everyone.
I made chili for supper and Mattie said "this is slap your momma good" so it must be alright! cold, Cold, COLD here! Wind chill is something else.
Lynne, so glad you are feeling better! :) NO RELAPSES!
Good that you got to see the show!! Perfect timing since it was just the movie was just on last night! Did it bring a few tears to your eye? You did hear that Julie Andrews' husband passed last week, right?
Anyone know when we'll get the nightlight on the nest? I see it's dark now and can't see a thing.
Waiting for Jim to call that he's on his way home and then I'll add the noodles. That'll be another hour. Will check email and fb.
bbl
Hopefully the night light will be on soon.
Hunter tells me that "supper" is not a word and that the evening meal is "dinner." I don't know how he learned so much in ten years that he can re-educate his grandma so easily.
I did hear that about Julie Andrews' husband. Sad.
Kathryn and Hunter took the dogs on a walk to the cul de sac. Mighty cold. Dogs needed it, though.
oh no, I hadn't heard that Lynn...so sad.
Well, Steve was SUPPOSED to be off all day tomorrow...and now he has to work. UGH One of the other guys is in the hospital.
In my world where I came from, Dinner was the midday meal, supper was the late meal. I dunno why...
"Dinner" is the big meal and "lunch" or supper is a smaller meal. I use the words dinner and supper interchangeably.
Been watching the phoebe hummingbird nest today. That hummer is a lively little thing. Kathryn walked by and commented. "That's not an eagle." Nope. About as opposite as a bird can be from an eagle.
Shar, chili is on my menu when leftovers are gone! Good weather for it!
Jo has been AWOL again!! Must be having a farewell gathering for the now-NC gang. :(
Thanks, Lynn, for the skinny on the speeding police cars.
Gene is the voice of reason, Wanda!!
Oh, please don't go chasing after speeding police cars!
How many police cars does Martinsburg have?
I have a Santa garden flag that hangs out on the fence. Well, I have taken it down and now have a TCU purple flag flying. Saturday is the big day! Go Frogs! LOL
So, no eagles tonight. I certainly hope yesterdays appearance wasn't their swan song.
Evening! Hope everyone is staying warm and safe. It is windy and cold here too. Still lots of snow. The wind blew it out of the trees but very little melted at all. Going to be a long week!
Is anyone planning a New Year's Eve Party? Lolly?
Herald Mail reported:
Police capture man who attempted to rob bank
RANSON, W.Va. — A man who attempted to rob a branch of City National Bank in Ranson on Monday evening was captured minutes later after a vehicle pursuit with police, Ranson Police Chief William "Bill" Roper said.
I don't think this was your 'chase' Wanda.
Tonight is the Part 2 of Closer...
Anxious to see who did what - I haven't figured it out yet......
Jo I'm with you I too have not figured it out yet. I really like The Closer.
Yes Jo, that was part of the chase
Berkeley County made the arrest..
How many police cars? A bunch, depends on how many are on duty
Shirley
Relaxing and doing nothing or what you want to do is
NOT wasting a day !!!
Suzan - In recent years our New Year's Eve party consisted of popcorn and trying to keep the eye lids opened to see the big ball come down.....
We used to go out in our very younger years. Then for a while we would party with most of the grandchildren here at the house (babysitting) for fun!
Lynn
Fantastic pictures of Fantastic Gifts !
Your Children know you well !!!
Diann !!
My fault entirely about the Christmas List....I had told you I would get it to you....
I could not open the attachment either, had to ask for help from Paula last year, and never got around to asking for the same help this year :(
I am so sorry !!
But, we can make arrangements to get that to you, is lots of fun through the year for birthdays and things, you know, snail mail!
Darth
You are a superior help-mate, and an exquisite writer !
Thank you so much for the updates on what's going on at your and Judie's Roost ! We love you both!
xoxo (( HUGS ))
That's BIG Hugs !
I learned dinner was the country way to talk about lunch, especially a bigger fancier one like on Sunday...
and supper was the evening meal
Guess we all agree on what Breakfast is !! LOL
am I living up to my moniker?
yak yak yak, trying to catch up...
Will was interesting to say the least, divided things up into fourths, and within than, some
1/3's and stuff...but it's the way I want it and provides for James if necessary....
xoxox Best Wishes for a good, warm, comforting and peaceful evening
Andrea...we have terribly hard water at work, and I will use your suggestion with our dishwasher...things are generally filmy!
Here, at my roost....no hard water at all !! ☺
Saw it go "poof" out like a lightbulb also
okay, I'm done, spent!
ttfn
xo
Jo
(( Hugs for you ))
regarding the after-holiday blues...
it has been a whirlwind for you for several weeks now !
Enjoy your shows and get lost in them
xo ♥
Routinely calling the midday meal dinner seems to be a country thing....I guess because the farmers all ate a big meal then.
In this area there are probably more people who say dinner instead of lunch, and supper instead of dinner. I always have to verify times when invited for dinner!!!
Like Lolly, when I was growing up, DINNER was after Church on Sundays and supper in the evening, but dinner was the evening meal the other 6 days of the week, and there was no supper!
okay, just one more thing.
Lynne - maybe you can relate to schedule upheavals
thought I had New Year's Eve Evening off...was at first to work 8-4 both Friday and Saturday, even had a little party to go to..
Whoops! Have to double back and work the midnight shift Friday night:(
and then have a week of midnights with Monday and Tuesday off
schedule change time, AND, covering for one on extended sick leave.
It just goes with the territory...
as I said in the newspaper article, I am thankful to have this job
TTFN !!!
Heading for the recliner
Sorry you won't have off Margy.
I think you give and give with all your heart.
Glad no police were hurt.
I'm heading for the tub. Maybe that will warm me up!! BBL.
Oh Margy, so sorry your schedule for NY has changed.
Heading for shower and bed. Hope to see some eagles in the AM in the nest before I leave!
Good night and prayers for all!
Esp. for your family's journey tomorrow, Jo!
Just shampooed for work in AM, got clothes in dryer, & I think football is on~~N.O. Saints & Atlanta Falcons.
Sorry, Margy, you have to work New Years. Do you have a TV to see the Ball drop???
BBL, I hope ☺
negative, Loretta... we pretty much know when it's Straight Up Midnight...
sometimes, people on the radio call us and wish us Happy New Year's -
the fire stations....
Off to the Closer....
BBL
Double E-S that's you Sharon!
glad to hear Mattie is there with you....AND that she liked the chili!
Bet it was dee-licious !
Happy Holidays to you all...
Lynne, know you are gone now but so glad you are feeling better.
No new years plans here...so Ajay asked if I could watch the kids while she goes in to be with John, as he is working at the bar that night...but he is on the restaurant side, so he should make some decent $$$
Gonna go watch some TV...
Going to start putting things to bed here including myself
Thinking of everyone....even those we do not "see" here....
Prayers for a good night's sleep, and a good Tuesday,
and special thoughts about the "Germany Gang" (well, golly, I guess we have to have a new name for them now, Jo... )
as they start their Southward trek...bet this is a Christmas that stands out above all the others before it
Thanks for your friendship, precious pals
God Bless Us, Every One
xo ♥
Good night, Margy...
While I'm at it, I will take my leave now, for the night. Soup Kitchen tomorrow. Need a little extra sleep:
HAM SALAD (WW)
BEAN SOUP (GW)
CORN BREAD(GW)
APPLE PIE (GW)
DRINKS (WW)
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SLEEP WELL
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Mai is sleeping soundly.
LOL
Need another coat of nail polish...glitter for New Years!
One cat disappeared under the bed & now is out to probably get on top. What a life!
Hope to see the wind go away in the morrow~~~Pleasant Feather Dreams & Prayers for all ;>)
Part 2 of the Closer was very good.
Going to get serious about going to bed
Going for blood work tomorrow and hope I remember to fast!
Good Night All and Prayers for All
Hugs to all ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Glad to have heard from Darth and praying Dr tells Judie to go ahead & take some steps!

Let me know with an email if your name should be on this list!
Thanks Mema Jo ♥
I asked about the number of police cars in Martinsburg. I've not really ever been there--no closer than
Wanda and Gene's anyway, but didn't figure it's too big of a town, and that ten cars would be a good percentage of the force, but what do I know?
Time to head upstairs. I slept in this morning, but wearing down now.
See you tomorrow.
News is now over. Think I will be heading to bed very soon.
Nite all! Sweet dreams!
Time to head to my recliner and blanket. I'm really tired tonight.
Prayers for all needs/wants.
goodnight friends.
God bless.

♫♪♫♪HAPPY ANIVERSARY, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, HAAAAPY ANNIVERSARY♫♪♫♪ Have a wonderful day (or evening) Lynne and Steve, our Love Birds;) 50 more to go to catch up with me and the Capt.:)
And Jo and Ed are 53 year survivors;)
It is 28° here in Nestville and sunny, going up to 37°. The wind has died down considerably. Maybe by this evening, the eagles will feel more comfortable about flying conditions and visit at SUPPER/DINNER time....what do you think, Shirley?
Good Morning All and especially sending
loving wishes to Lynne & Steve for them to have a very happy anniversary
Heading out to the lab and will check in upon my return.

"They are working on that," Lemaster said.
