Need to check on the check. I gave it to our finance person, who had to fill out a special form to take the donation. I am on leave. I will pass this on.
***(our donation check from Raffle has been misplaced)****
Check was supposed to have gone to Friends of NCTC.....didn't think Steve would have anything to do with that, or any government form involved for donating.
Mai has a vet aapptmt. this afternoon. Glad I found the card last evening, cause I thought it was tomorrow!
Shirley, I don't remember about whole movies, but Christie had almost all of VERN's stuff down pat. Remember him?? She even "performed" it for a school assembly thing when she was in 5th grade!!!
Bird inventory today: European starling, white-throated sparrow, cardinals, dark-eyed juncos, red-bellied woodpecker, downy woodpecker, mourning doves, tufted titmice, mockingbirds, chickadees, crows in the field and turkey vultures in the tree at the end of the street.
Hi Jim - The live feed is up but yes the still cam is down - someone at NCTC is working on it. There was a great visit this morning by the Royal Couple.
Sharp-shinned hawk, huh? It just is so much larger than what they say those are. It is at least the size of a large crow. But it is an interesting bird nonetheless.
Sissy, Brandon is my oldest grandson. He studied enviromental science in college and knows just about every bird by name in the U.S. He's very good but not perfect:) He use to name the unusual bird photos that Deb sent us.
My goodness, the nest was busy this morning. Wish I had been awake. Wish I had seen our lovely eagles. When I looked yesterday, the nest did seem much neater and deeper.
Paula, so happy you are feeling better.
Dana, I do hope you and Little Man will improve soon.
Catching up: So glad the dogs were saved and have been placed.
Hope Shirley's Kathryn's ear infections clear up and that she has a safe and enjoyable time in Equador.
Ah yes, a boy toy. There are more than a few hundred on campus...maybe I'll give that some consideration.
Oh, I have a progress report prompted by the t.p. episodes.
Seen the commercials for toilet training pants for kids? Well, I'M A BIG KID NOW! Never thought I would be so excited about being able to use a real toilet. Accomplished that goal yesterday. Comments are not required.
Returning to the safety of my bed with a book on delinquency. Looking for a first-day in-class assignment to demonstrate the concept of critical thinking -- serious lack of ability for most college students.
Hi Jo! Did I miss Alexis night? If so, hope it was fun.
Hi Jo, there you are. I have my first appointment on 1/7 for an hour of evaluation to determine what/how often. Prescription is 4-6 weeks with 1 to 3 sessions per week. Desperate to walk again but not looking forward to the pain of re-learning.
Judie, glad you are getting around better! That's progress!
Wasn't sure I was going to make it through the whole day at work, but starting to feel better. All those drugs I took this morning must have done something.
To me, fluff means BABY SOFT...I think they are serious when they bring in the GOOD STUFF:) Hanky Panky is a sure sign, also. I haven't seen any, has anyone else?
Hi, Gang, Lynn, hoping for a fantastic report from the vet about Mai!
Judie, Sounds like you are progressing on your own! That's GREAT! Just think how well you're going to do with some PT!
Glad that you're feeling better, Paula! That's more like it! Thank God!
Little Miss Emma has been out to go potty EARLY this a.m.--in 37 degree temp. with a strong westerly wind! BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! Even SHE was having a case of the shivers when we got back into the toasty house! YIKES! Oops--gotta run for another potty break for our girl! BBL....
Bummer- Bev Right now the view is just them getting ready to head to the den, they set the cam down, I believe, while they get things ready. you can still hear them all talking.
Admin at Bear Ctr said: Just a reminder that the cam MAY be LIVE as they install at the den. This can seem quite hectic and if you remember from last year, Lily even left the den and walked a ways off due to the noise but she came back. So no need to panic if she or hope come out. It will just be a very exciting view of the installation. Again, it MIGHT be live so wanted to prepare you all
Lynn, yep, 7th is the first appt available for evaluation. Nothing else I can do but hope the infected incision site is more tolerant of the boot because orders are I have to have the boot on to walk. I understand the reason, and agree, but it just keeps destroying the scab = not healing. Am trying wet-to-dry with saline on 4x4.
Sissy, how 'bout a second set of keys? I used to keep one in a metal magnet case under a wheel well. So sorry for the inconvenience and expense.
You all have better eyes for discriminating than I. Could see very sleepy Lily, saw her backing into the den, but couldn't detect Hope. Image seemed to freeze unless Lily decided to rest.
Judie, I didn't have an incision line to worry about, but did have to have cast changed because there had been so much swelling when the cast was applied that it just chafed terribly. I had a big open sore....they finally had to just go to an air-cast for the last couple of weeks. The wet-to-dry dressings should help.
Gone. Just a note: didn't one of last year's parents have an errant feather on its back/wing? I didn't see it this year. Could one of them be a NEW partner?
Anyway, off to shower then make a big salad for supper.
I've just been keeping the cam screen up while I'm working upstairs, so I don't miss them. They seem to be the same eagles to me, behavior wise. Have no reason to think they're not.
I agree, Megan. Mits seems to think it's a new male because she didn't see crooked talons......but I think if he was a new boy-toy that the beaking and working together would be much more tentative and more contentious.
The errant feather would most surely have been shed by now, I would think. Don't believe we can go by that.
PA Naqna, if you were looking for a particular feather from last year, it probably won't be there anymore as they molt and preen. If there's a certain color pattern, that could be the same. I think Paula said last year that Belle had a longer looking tail, but don't know if that's still true.
Good evening! First off, I have no doubt that is Lib and Belle in our nest, none whatsoever. Lib sits right in his favorite spot just like he always has and Belle bosses him around just like she always has!! LOL!
As for Hope and Lily, I love it but I am not excessively fond of the angle of the cam.
Speaking of cams, I would trade the zoom feature for the "night light" anytime. I miss seeing them first thing in the morning!!
Kendra Bowman, the teenager whose mom worked at Walmart with Mattie's mom is very sick. They are bringing her home with Hospice and not accepting any visitors. Bless their hearts, I guess they are bringing that child home to die. Bless that family's heart. They have fought so hard for a couple of years now. I think she is 17 years old. Such a tragedy.
Brandon Cook is feeling better. They are trying to get his oxygen requirements down so they can start a new and experimental treatment for him.
It is just so hard to see these young lives ravaged by cancer. Just so sad....
fOR what it's worth, I am 100% sure this pair is the same Liberty-Belle we've been watching since I first looked at the site ... more than 5 years ago now, I guess.
It never occurred to me that they were not the same until it was brought up on these comments.
We are looking through a new camera at a different distance and angle this season, so maybe that's the difference some are seeing.
I even say trade the HD and the zoom for our nightlight. I don't care one bit about HD. I learned that you have to have an HD monitor the same way you have to have an HD TV in order to see anything that is broadcast as HD. Certainly we are not all going out and buying new monitors.
I just returned from my errands - I had the live feed on and decided to shut it down - Wow! Lots and lots of colorful lines...... I hope in the light of day they will have gone away!
Oh, Sissy, that really is so sad....prayers for her and her family and friends. Too young...... Praying, too, that Brandon responds well to new treatment.
Poor Mai is totally zonked. Wore the poor baby out. She's even snoring. She was a bit lethargic today, anyway.....don't know why. Couldn't get her to even chase the ball.
Finally able to get the bear cam back on...yes the dark area at the back right is them. Wish they had moved the cam more to the right, but maybe they just couldn't.
Wow, Paula--great stories. The second one must be the spin I saw Tuesday. After they drooped below the skyline into background tree trunks, I couldn't see them anymore. No one crashed into wat6er or ice, so they must have unlocked in time!
I am back from a very long day in Winchester at the doctors office. Check the surgery area of right knee. We talked about the injury I have done to the left knee that has the total knee replacement that was done May 27, 2007. Conclusion between doctor and me--he could go in on left knee but it is going to make more scare tissue. So we are going to do nothing but wait and see. If and when pain gets too great we will approach again. As for the right he just did Nov. 17th scope and tears. All is very well. He did say that my cervical and spinal stenosis is playing havoc with my arthritis in my knees.
I am so Happy Happy but I still keeping my noon time prayer vigil for our eagles.
I did get Mom to the mall to Bon Ton so I could exchange the pants. Brought her an entire outfit and she is having a fit LOL. I can't seem to get it through her head. You pay this at WalMart but when Bon Ton has sales on it is better to shop there and they have PETITE which is what she needs. Prices with all the discount ended up being even less that what I would have spent at WalMart and got too long of pants.
I also got Ken her Dish man set up to hook up the newer tv in living room tomorrow at 10AM. So I'll will be in there by 10AM to have that settled. She wanted me to do it. I said I'm sick and tired a lot. Ken can do it in no time and things will be finished and done. I just took charge. She said, "It will cost". I said it will cost me my nerves if I have to do it!!! Plus the setup is between Ken and me......so if you want to tip him do it lol.
Thrilled to see so many on talking about the eagles. ( : Fluff brought to the nest now that is a good sign. But I'm still keeping noon prayer vigil.
dinner finished, dishes done, dog ears cleaned, cat nails all trimmed.
Dogs mad. Cats indignant.
Today was a sad day for us at Irvine. Our blind red tail hawk was euthanized. For reasons we were unable to determine (us, the rehabber and the vet), he had become increasingly distressed each time he was handled, or even just cleaning in the mew. He would run and try to fly and run into things, and has had some minor injuries in the last couple of weeks as a result. It was very difficult to watch this deterioration in behavior, as he had done quiet well previously. We weighed every possible option, but in the end, birds just don't do well with stress, and the increasing risk of him hurting himself seriously was just too great a chance to take. His quality of life had clearly become very poor. It was a tough decision to make, to say the least. It would have been easier had we some idea what had changed. The best guess is that what little sight he had left in his one remaining eye had gone completely. But I believe we did right by him. Had he been very young when his sight was taken, he might have managed better. But hawks are very sight dependent. Hopefully, he is soaring with the angels now.
I'm heading to bed soon. Hope everyone has a good night, and prayers for all!
Well, duh.....polar bears aren't dumb!! If the stupid camera blinds hadn't been moving, they probably wouldn't have bothered them. After all, a bear KNOWS that snow balls, etc. can't ski or float!! I think it was all staged. Obviously someONE was there filming! LOL!
My doctor prescribed an x-ray for my knee--I hit it when I fell, and it has been bothering me.
I also have to set up an appointment with a dermatologist. I have a scar on my face that I really do not want to keep. It's also from the accident.
That appointment will need to be set up for later on. I have to pick a dermatologist. I have been seeing a dermatologist for years, but I really do not trust him with this job. I've known I needed to find someone else. I think the time has come.
Kathryn has to get her car inspected. I can't say much. I sometimes leave things until the last minute, too.
Sorry Lynne2 about the red tail hawk. You all did right by him. He is no more suffering or flying into things or stressed. He is FREE --- Soar and Fly Free----He is WELL NOW Lynne.
Ecuador sounds neat, but the Galapagos sounds even better!
Wish I had more energy! Haven't gotten anything done this week since I was feeling puny. But I did manage to sit on the floor of my closet and straighten out my shoes, and throw some away, and put a lot in the donate bag.
Waiting for a load of laundry to dry, then I am going to hit the sack early. Hoping to catch a good night's zzzzz's tonight :)
Sissy, very sad situation with Kendra. Prayers for her and the family. Hope Brandon will respond to new treatment.
Shirley, I know better. Duh! Hadn't even had a percocet.
Lynne, sorry about the hawk but it was best. Hugs.
Will look at videos tomorrow. Tired tonight and stuuuuuupid incision is really aching. Now for the percocet.
Turning my light off but will leave the night light on for others coming in, headed back the hallway, up the stairs, to the tub, or out for a brisk few minutes with four-legged friends. Sleep well, everyone.
Oh, Shirley~~Galapagos sounds like a field trip!!!!I know a group who went a few years ago from the Park & wish I could have gone, too! As for scars, dermatologist might refer you to a plastic surgeon. So sorry, Lynne, about the hawk.I hate it when we can't save everything. And the ASPCA ad w/Roberta Flack just kills me!
Good grief, hope NCTC finds the check!
May be signing off--got some stuff to do~~ Pleasant Feather Dreams to all ;>) and special prayers for Kendra & family & Brandon
We’re not there yet. It wasn’t the time to push it. The sound and the camera angle both have to be fixed, but the quality of the video was better than expected. Now, it looks like Lily may have licked the lens and things are blurry.
To our surprise, Lily was ready to bolt when we arrived. When Lynn approached the den, Lily was coming out and looking furtive. Lynn crouched down by her and spoke and offered her grapes. She didn’t accept them at first—then understood what was happening and who it was and gobbled up grapes as fast as she could. We were surprised that she’d be this active and this hungry this far into the denning period. We also were surprised Hope didn’t show. Not a peep.
Lily eventually went back into the den but whenever Lynn took a step to realign the camera, Lily would immediately come to the entrance ready to exit. Eventually, we decided to leave her be for now and come back later to see what progress we can make in getting the camera in a better position, the lens wiped clean, and better sound. For sound, Doug Hajicek and Bill Powers are planning to build a low wattage amplifier.
It’s a beginning. We need to get it right by the middle of January when we’re guessing a new litter will be born between January 15 and 22. Grapes and patience will be the key. Sooner will be better than later with a foot of snow coming.
WLAH (W Lily and Hope) is the world’s smallest wilderness broadcasting station. Lily’s trust made possible what we did today. We believe she will accept improvements over the next few days. Snow is falling.
If you are having trouble viewing the images full-size, read the update from www.bear.org or www.bearstudy.org.
I was just going to post the Bear update! Thanks, Paula. That explains a lot!!! Better viewing ahead!!! Glad you got some stuff done, but don't overdo----we don't want you to relapse!
Yep, Dana....same feetsies.
Judie, agree with your assessment for Shirley. A plastics person is what she needs.
I was sure hoping that Christie or I would win the Jeopardy Galapagos trip last year. :( No such luck. It would have been a once in a lifetime experience. Sure hope Suzi can go!
Looks like there is at least a few shows next week that aren't repeats! I'm getting tired of this hiatus!! Sure makes the evenings l-o-n-g!
Mai is feeling better. She is dragging her bed around and flipping it over. She gets under it and then tries to stand up---looks like a humongous headdress!!
Except for enough turkey for a sandwich for lunch tomorrow, I have finished the leftovers. Think I'll make a pot of chili and a pan of cornbread for tomorrow night!
We are home. Read the blog on my phone during the hour drive. Read all your comments about the bear cam. Sorry I missed the installation and I need to check it out.
Oh, what a day. We finished going through Faye's house, including the garage. Made three trips to Laurel's house with the truck and Laurel's van. Jack and Laurel made one trip to the dump with the truck really loaded. Laurel came back traumatized. LOL
There are still some big things to move, but they will have to get a mover for the refrig and a sofa. The rest of the furniture and stuff will be handled by an estate sale or a garage sale.
More reason for me to do more cleaning and throwing away around here.
Prayers for those that need them Judie, Shirley, Paula, me (the bug), I know I am missing some of you and all others feeling poorly and that need of prayer.
Just visited the bear cam and can hardly wait until tomorrow to see it. Also tried to catch up on facebook. Joey was playing today while we worked. (That is all I will say) Anyway, I posted a video on fb that he made today of our Christmas.
Heading to the shower now.
Nite all! Sweet dreams! (so happy the eagles made another visit today!)
Hi, Everyone! Just got back in after a (Brrrrrr!) brisk potty trip with Emma. She is making quite the fashion statement in her bright pink quilted doggy coat with white fake fur collar, and snowflake applique with rhinestones! Hubby went shopping for her yesterday. LOL :oD (Yes, Mr. "I NEVER, EVER want another dog! Not EVER!") Uh huh! Lynn, Had one evening last week when Emma was very subdued, too. Don't know for sure whether it was a reaction to her last vaccinations, or the fact that I had to discipline her for pitching a hissy fit and trying to nip me because she got frustrated that the leash is only 4 feet long. I wasn't too rough with her, and didn't hit her, just made her lie down and be submissive. She did get her feelings hurt, though, and wouldn't look me in the eye all evening. Was very apologetic, and kept giving me puppy kisses. I let her watch TV in my lap, and paid a lot of attention to her, and she was her old self in the morning. She's been more obedient since then--very interesting! Just like a little kid going through the "terrible twos"! They do constantly test you. She had a blast chasing up and down the hall again today. She had her ball, AND her big bone-shaped squeaky chew toy. It was hilarious watching her try to get BOTH of them in her mouth! What a character! She likes to play hide and seek with you, and comes a-running when you disappear around a corner! BTW, she is growing so fast you can almost SEE her get bigger before your very eyes!
Have read back just a little on here, and see that Kendra Bowman is really sick. I'm so very sorry to hear that. What a tragic situation for her and her family! Prayers for all of them.
Praying for Brandon, too.
Prayers for all those nursing colds and various other yucky ailments--hope for rapid recoveries!
About the Cooper's Hawk/Sharp-Shinned Hawk debate--if it's as large as a big crow, it's a Cooper's Hawk. We have had a nesting pair in our big ficus tree for 2 years. We also had a Sharp-Shinned Hawk about 4 years ago that we found lying on the ground under one of our big trees in the back yard. I thought it was dead, but when I went out to put it in a trash bag, it turned its head and looked at me--really startled me! We took it to a lady nearby who's a raptor rehabilitator. Don't think he made it. He seemed to have a spinal or neck injury, and some paralysis. She did say he was definitely a Sharp-Shinned juvenile, though. He was MUCH smaller than our Cooper's Hawks, although extremely similar looking, plumage-wise. Size is about the only obvious difference.

Good Morning! Oh how I love waking up to our Royal Couple in our nest.
Thanks Steve for posting that heart warming picture and for the new thread.
I go see what is happening on the earlier thread.
Our cam are down, where did you get the COVER pictur?
My cam is not woking...maybe a refresh?
Looks like some soft grasses have been brought in.
Hi,
I have the cam up and there's an eagle at the nest.
My LIVE cam is working...not the still one.
Live, Jo...but not still.
Oh, I haven't checked the still cam.
So we are clouded over here....and it is downright raw. Sure can't get close to 50° if there's no sun. Argh!
Yes, just a black screen at the still cam.
Yes, the still cam is down! Wish John or one of Steve's crew were watching out for us. Their network doesn't show that our server is down.
As for the Live feed - there is Lib manning his post.

Thanks Wanda. Live feed is not down. I have been watching them for an hour. Have to go now. Happy eagle watching!
I took pics of them, they brought in lots of fluff. Will post later. Have a great day!
Looks as though Lib is trying to
'cough it up'
Liberty is gorgeous sitting there, just taking it all in!
Wow, I see Lib! and fresh fluff
Has anyone else noticed how much bigger the live feed picture is?
Does anyone else out there have a child or grandchild who likes to memorize movies? Hunter is repeatedly watching The Despicables. He does this when he wants to memorize all of the lines. Next, he will be reciting them.
Mits doesn't think this is our Lib. She says his talons were noticeably crooked, and this birds are straight. Anyone else have any thoughts?
Hi Paula!
Well, I think it is Lib, he is sitting in his fav spot!
Interesting, Lynn. I would not know, but I remember you all talking about Lib's distinctive feet.
I guess we could go back and look at some pictures.
You can get a good look at the feet right now.
If something has happened to Lib, that might explain the absence of the eagles from the nest recently.
Yeah, that is his favorite spot, isn't it?
So, maybe he's been off to see a foot doc and gotten his toes straightened?
Or, seriously, maybe it is the position he's sitting in right now.
He's curling his talons around the edge of the nest rather than sitting in the flatter bottom of the nest.
Looks like Lib to me. His feets look crooked when in the nest, not while perching.
And that's his spot :)
Aw, he just took off

Oh my. I hope they find it. I assume it has not been cashed.
Lion cubs are out in their yard running all over the place and having a ball
It's been sprinkling here. Yuck.
Mai has a vet aapptmt. this afternoon. Glad I found the card last evening, cause I thought it was tomorrow!

The new Lily/Hope den cam is supposed to be installed today----weather permitting!!!

GOOD MORNING, ALL.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I see our live feed is working well ... can't tell if the sound is working right now ... but the still picture froze up last evening.
Is that what you are getting??
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Yup, Jim
Sharon, that is quite the bird inventory!
Hi Jim - The live feed is up but yes the still cam is down - someone at NCTC is working on it. There was a great visit this morning by the Royal Couple.
I see that the BWE cam is having problems.
Hey, the Hope and Lily cam is up again today.
At first all I could get was the commercial, but now you can actually see them in the electronics hut setting up the cam.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
It's better than shooting people with one of those video games, Lynn! :)
Of course, Grandma is memorizing parts of the movie, too.
I shall return later.
About Sissy's hawk...Brandon says he is sure it is a Sharp Shinned Hawk.
Message from Steve concerning the still cam:
Thanks. The still cam issue is not in Shepherdstown. Rob is trying to get to the right person in Denver.
Steve
So, there we have it.
I just thought of somthing...Mai may have been telling you, Lynn, that she had to potty with all of that TP:)
Sharp-shinned hawk, huh? It just is so much larger than what they say those are. It is at least the size of a large crow. But it is an interesting bird nonetheless.
Who is Brandon?
Well, drat....I got the ad, too, Jim, but nothing since. :(
LOL, Wanda......maybe so!!!
Sissy, Brandon is my oldest grandson. He studied enviromental science in college and knows just about every bird by name in the U.S. He's very good but not perfect:) He use to name the unusual bird photos that Deb sent us.
hEDGIE, if you have "adblocker", you might try disabling it .. at least until you get the regular cam stuff flowing.
I did that, AND I refreshed several times, before the picture came up ... it's still on the new computer equipment that they will set up the cam with.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Never mind, Hedgie. I refreshed mine again, and it's black screen again.
They're probably going on to the next step getting the cam up.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Eeuuwiiee's resting on the box at BWO.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
No, Jim, no Ad blocker. All ads play---unfortunately!!
Now the Euwwies have departed and the male of the BWE pair has arrived.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Good early afternoon, everyone.

Got to add a wren to my list.
Hello Judie - hope your day is going well for you. How often do you have the physical therapy?
Thinking of you!

Blue jays.
Judie, glad you are getting around better! That's progress!
Wasn't sure I was going to make it through the whole day at work, but starting to feel better. All those drugs I took this morning must have done something.
Oh, and I feel SOOO much better seeing fluff in the nest!
Belle brought in 2 loads of fluff this morning!
To me, fluff means BABY SOFT...I think they are serious when they bring in the GOOD STUFF:) Hanky Panky is a sure sign, also. I haven't seen any, has anyone else?
Don't think anyone has spotted any HP yet.
BBILW Errands to run
I have seen some preludes to HP. can't remember if it was Sunday or when....they were doing some serious beaking and nudging!
Judie, 7th seems like a long ways away. Will they come to the house or do you have to go to them???
About ready for vet trip. If the cam does come online and I can get it----guess I will miss the initial view.... :(
Talk to you later.
They're setting up the bear cam now, it's online, they are explaining the setup...
Yeah, I am watching it too, while I am waiting for the locksmith to come and unlock my car. It is running, with the keys in it, and locked!!
Sissy: DO WHAT ?
I am watching the installation of the bear cam also.
It's a blur to me as to what we are to be seeing right now.
Hi, Gang,
Lynn, hoping for a fantastic report from the vet about Mai!
Judie,
Sounds like you are progressing on your own!
BBL....

Right now the view is just them getting ready to head to the den, they set the cam down, I believe, while they get things ready. you can still hear them all talking.
Admin at Bear Ctr said: Just a reminder that the cam MAY be LIVE as they install at the den. Whoo Hoo I see part of a bear
'It's me bear'
Great capture of Lily who came out of the den.
Going to check out the Bear cam.
BBL
Looks like this cam is harder to place than the previous one...further outside the den.
Did ya'll notice it's a pix-controller cam. I think they are going to have a link on their website as well.
Lots of snow up there!
Aha, much better view.
That is a pretty big den! Lily keeps checking out the cam :)
Lily is trying her best to stay awake
Very Very Sleepy Bear.......
This cam will be excellent to view.
At one point you could see Hope's furry body back in the den.
You all have better eyes for discriminating than I. Could see very sleepy Lily, saw her backing into the den, but couldn't detect Hope. Image seemed to freeze unless Lily decided to rest.
Happy Aftetnoon!! Back from store in time to watch nest. Beautiful thread pic from this AM!
I'm back.....and just finished cleaning up a mess in the truck. Yep--Mai urped all over the seat.
Okay, I have the bear cam up and running----but DON'T know what it is showing....
MT nest for us....need to read back and see if anyone has visited.
Is it very fuzzy with funny intermittant green lines coming upfrom the bottom for anyone else????
Like Judie said, I don't know what I'm supposed to be seeing----no bear for sure!
I could see Hope back there at one point as well.
Lynn, no other visits at our nest so far today.
I can't get back on the Lily cam
Looks like it's still snowing there....
Judie, I didn't have an incision line to worry about, but did have to have cast changed because there had been so much swelling when the cast was applied that it just chafed terribly. I had a big open sore....they finally had to just go to an air-cast for the last couple of weeks. The wet-to-dry dressings should help.
EAGLE!
Just passed by and see an eagle nestorizing. Whoopee!!
Hi everyone.
It's just black for me now - bear cam that is
eagle alert!!!!!!1
Looks like Lib, see how his feets look crooked now in the nest
Lib is right on time for our evening visit
Beautiful Bird in nest!!
There's Mama
TWO
I had tried to get back to the bear cam both through PIX and Wild Earth.
No Go...... I think too many viewers
Oops think that was Belle in the nest and Lib flew in
See, she's starting the beaking :)
Anyone notice some slight beaking?
Belle is facing away, Lib facing towrads us
Both. Am taking pics----my Still cam is black!
Ya'll need more fluff!
Guess they both have crooked looking feets in the nest
There he went to the right
Fly out
And there she went
Fly out MT Nest
Still light - perhaps they will come back
I need to get gas in the car
I know I'll come back broke
Gone. Just a note: didn't one of last year's parents have an errant feather on its back/wing? I didn't see it this year. Could one of them be a NEW partner?
Anyway, off to shower then make a big salad for supper.
... later
I saw a little beak on the back one's wing!
Megan I think you have an
Eagle Alarm on your computer. You have been the first to see them in the nest the last couple times.
Thanks!
I've just been keeping the cam screen up while I'm working upstairs, so I don't miss them.
They seem to be the same eagles to me, behavior wise. Have no reason to think they're not.
Cam pic looks lighter than it actually is outside here now, guess that's the only visit tonite.
I agree, Megan. Mits seems to think it's a new male because she didn't see crooked talons......but I think if he was a new boy-toy that the beaking and working together would be much more tentative and more contentious.
The errant feather would most surely have been shed by now, I would think. Don't believe we can go by that.
They do seem to get those stray white feathers from time to time, that sometimes stay for awhile, which can certainly help us ID them easier.
I don't think we've had any change in our pair.
My Bear cam is still running and with noise....but still nothing identifiable....... :( Guess I need a bear to MOVE!!!
Couldn't leave with the bear cam now up. Just have to wait until after supper to shower. ;-)
Someone asked about beaking and I saw some too.
Loretta, missed that feather. Will have to look closer next time.
What am I seeing on the bear cam? I see a dark spot at the upper right but don't know what it is.
Just put 3 visit pics in E_M album.
What a wonderful visit!!Makes your day, doesn't it??
Getting hungry-----BBL
Evening all! Glad to see the cam is up and running again and to read the eagles have been in today twice! Missed both times :(
Need to get dinner ready...
PA Naqna, if you were looking for a particular feather from last year, it probably won't be there anymore as they molt and preen. If there's a certain color pattern, that could be the same.
I think Paula said last year that Belle had a longer looking tail, but don't know if that's still true.
You know I'm hungry--can't spell!!!
I can't type either--got 4 pics! DUH
Sissy, I agree. Trade the zoom for the night light.
I saw eyes shining back in the corner on the Lily cam. I guess the black in upper right-hand corner are bears!!
Who(m)ever those eagles are, I'm just glad to see them in the nest.
They're probably the same pair \; it's just been so long since we saw them last.
Off to make the salad.
Sissy, I saw some headlights too.
... later
Lost bear cam.....okay, black blob in back right corner...will watch that when I get it back up!!
Kendra turned 16 in August. No understanding.....
fOR what it's worth, I am 100% sure this pair is the same Liberty-Belle we've been watching since I first looked at the site ... more than 5 years ago now, I guess.
It never occurred to me that they were not the same until it was brought up on these comments.
We are looking through a new camera at a different distance and angle this season, so maybe that's the difference some are seeing.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Jim, I agree completely.
I even say trade the HD and the zoom for our nightlight. I don't care one bit about HD. I learned that you have to have an HD monitor the same way you have to have an HD TV in order to see anything that is broadcast as HD. Certainly we are not all going out and buying new monitors.
Hi Eagle people!
I missed the eagles everywhere today.
This morning the cam was down and this evening, just missed them.
I check out the Eagles 4 Kids cam which is up and running now. Nothing on the nest but snow right now.
http://eagles4kids.com/
That is supposed to be "checked"
I just returned from my errands -
I had the live feed on and decided to shut it down - Wow!
Evening, all.
thought I would pull up the live feed .... anyone else seen those lines like that before at night?
I would be guessing as to what we are seeing in Lily's den right now.
I think that it could maybe be her collar. It is snowing there.
I don't care for the 'humming' on the PIC cam for now and that is why I am watching the Wild Earth cam.
Not at night. This morning the lines were there like that.
OK, I see Jo saw the lines, too.
Lynn, maybe it was just a lazy day for Mai...sleep and grow :)
Paula, I made a comment about the lines and I had not noticed them before.
I hope it hasn't also gone down.
I guess we'll know in the am hours.
Finally able to get the bear cam back on...yes the dark area at the back right is them. Wish they had moved the cam more to the right, but maybe they just couldn't.
I don't really hear anything on the bear cam, although I suppose it's pretty quiet out there.
Sissy, sorry to hear about Kendra.
I think Ya'll remember this eagle...
Update on Harley the Eagle
Some cool pics....from close by in Loudon County, VA
Eagle pair crashes to ground
Enjoyed the articles Paula.
I am sure the crashing eagles were pretty stunned.
These are beautiful and unusual creatures.
Wow, Paula--great stories. The second one must be the spin I saw Tuesday. After they drooped below the skyline into background tree trunks, I couldn't see them anymore. No one crashed into wat6er or ice, so they must have unlocked in time!
sp. again! dropped, water DUH
Both eagles are working on WE nest right now.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Both stories have such happy endings, Paula! Whew.....close call for sure on the pair!
Harley is really searching high and low for a mate, I bet!
Interesting stories, Paula. Good endings too. :~)
I'm waiting for daylight to look at the bears anymore, but I can make out Lily by the collar and outline of her head and neck.
They might be snowed in by morning at this rate. Wonder what the camera people would do then.

Polar Bear Cam Problems
Noticed this on Yahoo.
I can't get it restarted.....:(
dinner finished, dishes done, dog ears cleaned, cat nails all trimmed.
Shirley, that was great! Video was hilarious!
Awww, so sorry about the redtail Lynne. That must have been hard on everyone.
LOL!
I've got to shut down my puter.
Microsoft Updates is bugging me constantly to restart; plus I need to get dinner and do some other stuff around here.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
You do have to wonder who was filming the video, but whatever else was going on, nobody was controlling the bears. Hunter and I enjoyed watching them.
So sorry about the hawk, Lynne.
Lynne, so sorry about the hawk, but sounds like you all made the best decision. Fly free, dear bird.
Much to do tomorrow. I am ready to head upstairs.
NOT A LINK I have sent to the eagle group an email look in your inbox or spam box. It has 2 pictures on it. One picture is his feet of 12 30 2010 and another picture is his feet of 12 03 2009. I believe it is the same eagle. It is Liberty.JMO Check it out for yourselves.
Oh, by the way, Judie, it's Susan going to Ecuador. Kathryn is Hunter's mom, and is staying stateside.
She said she would love to go to Ecuador, but that isn't in the plans right now.
What remarkable photos of the eagles CRASH LANDING) Looks on their faces, priceless!
Sorry Lynne2 about the red tail hawk. You all did right by him. He is no more suffering or flying into things or stressed. He is FREE --- Soar and Fly Free----He is WELL NOW Lynne.
Susan is hoping to go to the Galapagos Islands while she is there. I would love to do that.
Those crashed eagles looked really shocked, didn't they?
Shirley praying you find a good and trustworthy dermatologist. That he/she makes you feel very comfortable.
The polar bears was so funny thanks for the video. Yes someone was vidio tapping all that. I do think they were dumb to have them moving.
Hedgie-Lynn what are you feeding Mai?
Dana, she's on Purina Pro-Plan puppy chow.
She's finally awake! BBL.
I love the new avatar Hedgie-Lynn and others.
I am tired I think I will watch CSI.
Check back later
DON'T FORGET TO CHECK YOUR EMAILS TO COMPARE FEETIES.
I'm watching TV
Catch up with you later
Oh, Shirley~~Galapagos sounds like a field trip!!!!I know a group who went a few years ago from the Park & wish I could have gone, too!
As for scars, dermatologist might refer you to a plastic surgeon.
So sorry, Lynne, about the hawk.I hate it when we can't save everything. And the ASPCA ad w/Roberta Flack just kills me!
Good grief, hope NCTC finds the check!
May be signing off--got some stuff to do~~
Pleasant Feather Dreams to all ;>) and special prayers for Kendra & family & Brandon
Bear Update
Halfway There
We’re not there yet.
Sleep well, friends.
Hugs to all ♥
Looks like there is at least a few shows next week that aren't repeats!
Loretta, I can't watch the ASPCA ads.....they just break my heart.
Goodnight, one and all. Sleep well. Eagle, panda and black bear dreams for all!
Prayers and peace.
I'm back to say good night.
Lynn I thought it was just me because I have to walk away from TV when the ASPCA ads come on. Breaks my heart.
I was watching 1 1/2 hrs of Wallinger
Mystery
BTW We had Chili tonight!
I think almost all have gone to the pillows. I will but want to read up a few comments.
All done!
Good Night Everyone
Prayers for all especially Kendra and family and for Brandon and family.
Hugs to all ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I can't watch those ASPCA ads either. Makes my heart cry:(
It is going to be 53° tomorrow. Might stack some wood with Capt. Gene.
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIEND
SWEET DREAM
PRAYERS FOR ALL
I have changed my avatar. This new one is my Dad and Brandon at appx. 4yrs. Note his red boops (that is what he called them:)
May God be with Kendron's family and friends.
Lynn,
Had one evening last week when Emma was very subdued, too.
