Hi all. I'm home from my morning of meetings and have caught up on the blog.

JUDIE, dinner sounds scrumptious!!! If that was my menu for tonight's dinner, I would be spending the day driving here and there to places that make and sell each course so I could buy them and bring them home, while obviously, you are actually preparing everything yourself! =)

Read on FB this AM that SHARON is feeling VERY puny!! Feel better SHARON!!

LYNN, wondering how your day is going.

Headed out into my garden to get a pic of my jonquils so I can update my avatar! Don't think I can EVER recall having jonquils in bloom in February!!

NEW WARNING FOR KENTUCKY

Kay said...

SANDI, your yellow flowers bring a smile to my face ! As does the fact that you and your Dubby will be able to join us for part of the April festivities ! ☺

Cheered, too, by the sight of Shep so lovingly tending to his future eaglets !

JUDYE, prayers for your niece, your adorable granddaughter and for Janet. A rear ender is an assault, even if you aren't injured. Happened to me about 15 years ago---a man too drunk to walk and with no insurance. :(

MARGY, LOL your post yesterday at 5:52 re: rolling of eggs and how they settled right down where they were. I've observed that, too. Guess a little stir is adequate at times.

Prayfully waiting and hoping for news from LYNN.

Prayers, too for all those watching the fearsome skies today. We're on the northern edge of that murderous system. Just drizzly rain so far, but bad outlook for late this afternoon. Planning on going to dinner and a play with Julie and Seth tonight, but plans may change !

Lori O. said...

Hello KAY! Stay safe in all your bad weather.

Like you, I'm anxiously waiting to see how LYNN made out today. Just pray she isn't nauseous on this chemo.

Lori O. said...

It was a lovey bird land here today. Kate was working looking out the big picture window and saw the Black Vulture parents return and go down into their nest in the barn, from the barn roof. She also saw the BV's, Turkey Vultures and a pair of Red Tailed Hawks all having HP in the trees!!!

Sandi said...

I always use the terms jonquils and daffodils interchangeably, even tough I know they're slightly different. I did a little Googling and I think mine are technically daffodils, so I stand corrected!

Kay said...

Have we seen Shep tenting yet ? Hope he gets the hang of it soon !

LORI, wow, what a gonga bird watching day for Kate ! You and she live in a wildlife paradise !

Kay said...

SANDI, I thought your flowers were daffodils when I saw them so just used "flowers" in my post. Regardless, both they and jonquils are gorgeous flowers and Ohio is blessed with both each Spring !

Sandi said...

MARGY, I hear plenty of wind at the nest and think the rain is starting there. Here it has gotten cloudy and much colder! Rain isn't forecast here til late tonight.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Gang,
Happy Red Friday!
We've got Santa Ana winds here again today, but the temp. is higher, and it's supposed to be in the low to mid-80s by Sunday!

Have a lot to do today, but have been praying for Lynn nonstop this morning. Hoping the chemo doesn't cause any more nausea! Waiting anxiously for a report later tonight. Sending lots of love your way, Lynn!

Well, I have some bills to pay online, and then must go to Walmart for weekly shopping. Couple other errands, too. Better get busy! Prayers for everyone!

WV sUSAn, thanking God for the good report on your BFF! SOOOO happy for her, and you!!

Sharon, prayers that you'll feel better VERY soon!

Will check in later tonight, probably after dinner. HAGD, everyone! :o]

Good Afternoon from Montpelier Mansion!
Lady friend of mine from U of MD choir years ago arrived w/her TV camerman to film the work in progress of the Dinosaur Exhibit. She works for County (p.G.) Community local TV. Film will be shown at 4:45 PM and after on Fios Channel 42. Don't know what channels w/other companies, but assume it would mention Prince George's County.
On our way out, Kathy's friend, Dean, who did several large pencil dino drawings arrived from N.J. w/his wife. They will attend the Grand Opening tomorrow!
Starting to rain and getting quite chilly here. Hope our birds and everyone else is hunkered down!☺

stronghunter said...

Good to know, Kay.

We were in New Albany the day the big Xenia tornado hit. It came very close to our house. Some damage on our street. That was a scary day.

We headed to the basement when we saw a bucket blow by the window. Should have gone down there earlier.

I have a good friend in Louisville, KY. Kind of bad there today. She lost a tree in an earlier tornado a few months ago.

stronghunter said...

Raining here, but not stormy now.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Just heard from Lynn. She has been home since 2. Feeling groggy and having a little pain at the port site. She is going to bed now.

stronghunter said...

Getting a port put in is surgery. I hope that is the only reason for pain.

Kay said...

SHARON, thanks for the LYNN update ! Hope she'll awake from the rest refresed and with pain gone. I was so afraid we wouldn't hear anything before time for me to drive to Julie's, that is, if the weather allows us to go forward with our plans.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Yes Shirley that is why. Also she ate well twice.

Kay said...

SHIRLEY, we lived in Upper Arlington when that devastating tornado hit Xenia. 1974, a sad memory !

stronghunter said...

The Xenia tornado went right through the New Albany area, and New Albany is a pretty good distance from Xenia. I won't forget how green the sky turned that day.

Fortunately, New Albany did not have as much damage as Xenia. But I talked to one woman who came up from the basement to find that the house was completely gone.

JudyEddy said...

If you want the link to the Louisville station I can post it SHIRLEY

Sandi said...

SHARON, thanks for the LYNN update! Hope she wakes up feeling better.

Also, could you please sign onto the blog as me from your phone and check the box for the posts to come to my inbox? And can you do that every time there's a new thread? Whatta pal! Seriously, PAULA posted the other day that she could do that from her phone. I have an ancient cell that doesn't have enough memory for me to get on the internet - I'm lucky that I can even check emails from my cell! Not due for an upgrade til November.

Took both dogs to the vet for nail trims. Receptionist said, "That will be $62!!!!!" I said, "EXCUSE ME???? Surely I heard you wrong!" They wanted to charge a $14 vet tech office visit charge - per dog, and $17 per dog for the nail trims! I said, "Check your records, you'll see that I only paid the $17 per dog the last time I was in here, and it only costs me $10 per dog at the pet store down the road, but the groomer wasn't in today so I brought them here." They took off the $28 for the office visits - RIDICULOUS!!!

Huntsville...have we heard from Red? Judy, isn't your sis in KY? Kay, did it pass you OK out your way?

It's going to be very late tonight/tomorrow wee hours by the time the system gets here, hopefully with less punch, keep an eye out, turn on the weather radios, and say a prayer for those in the paths..

SANDI thanks for the idea
but I mentioned to Angies about signing in the the blog from her phone at work and using my email for google since she doesn't have a google acct then check the subscribe box but she is to afraid of being busted at work and I guess I can't blame her It would have been a good idea and I can't afford to get a phone like that at all

So its either have my neck kill me and red the blog this way or not read all the blog at once I guess

So what a little pain in between friend right Ok now I do need to step away been on this too long

Got a message from my friend Jeanie in Louisville, KY. She has been in the basement with nine members of her family through the tornado warnings.

She said that she is just 1/2 hour away from a town in Indiana where a tornado did hit and where her son and his family live.

Lynne2 said...

OMG Shirley, I hope they hear from the son soon to say they are OK. Geesh.....

Turn that weather radio on tonight...I can't imagine given the late hours of the storms getting here after crossing the mountains that they'd be too bad but ya never know.

Lynne2 said...

Bev posted on FB from, I THINK, the lake. Hope she's watching the weather....

Lynne2 said...

wow, interesting article from BWE.

JudyEddy said...

Oh SHIRLEY I PRAY they are alright there were two towns that were severely damaged one was Jeffersonville, Ind where 1900 people lived they said the whole town was gone I hope that is not the town It seems Louisville was spared any bad damages but surrounding area was bad

wvgal_dana said...

Prayers that Jeanie's son and family are ok.

Judy, your visit to the vet for nail clipping sounds like Kathryn's trip to the med center to buy crutches for Hunter.

The receptionist tried to charge her a $50.00 co-pay for the privilege of buying crutches. Kathryn refused, and the woman got right uppity when Kathryn said that she would just take a prescription and go elsewhere for the purchase.

Doctor confirmed that she did not owe a co-pay.

stronghunter said...

Yes, I am waiting to hear about Jeanie's son and family.

Jeanie was one of my closest friends and sometimes roommate during my college years. We recently found each other via FB.
