"Good morning!!! Reporting beside from Charlies suite. Lol, made it here for part of the Dr's visit. He says his numbers look excellent and he has put orders in to be moved to a regular floor and to have regular food. Another bad night for him. He said he only seen his nurse twice all night long. He came in last night, unhooked him from iv so he could use the bathroom alone. He says the male nurse didn't want to mess with the bed pan. Wow.... Not sure if he got his pain meds regularly like his day nurse did or not... He is restless again, sweating and very grumpy. His day nurse Bree has been excellent and thankful we have her again today. Also thinks he could benefit from some ativan to calm him. Said that is something to talk to the dr before we leave. Bree is awesome. Hope was ok... Well he said yes, if she agrees but she makes 50$an hr and we may need to pay her 25$ more an hr for that move... Lmao, funny dr!!!
Thank you.... We shall see.... Golly gee, they just brought him a breakfast tray. Eggs, which he can't eat..bran muffin and oatmeal. Just gave him his other pain meds as well. Spoke to mom already. I gotta go!! Need to eat some breakfast and finish getting ready for church. My do is done and so is my face....my bod is still in pj's. Can not go to church that way!!!
Sorry to see that Charlie had a bad night, but it looks like today will be better.
I see that Shep is on the nest.
Margy, I tried the restore thing, but so far it doesn't work. Maybe Rus can do something remotely tonight, or maybe he can stop here on the way back from NC.
glad the sun is breaking through for you Paula! Cloudy, damp here and 56. Marine Layer is what they call this...breezes from the east off of the ocean. Hopefully we'll get some sun later!
A daffodil can not bloom because they are too crowded and need to be dug up and divided, or because after they bloomed the foliage was not allowed to turn brown and die back before it was trimmed.
Back from tennis and have caught up. So Shep STILL hasn't fed the chicks! Oh dear. As for my daffodils, it's not that they need thinning. But LORI might be on to something with the bonemeal. They always bloomed fine until 2 years ago when I also planted some liriope and heuchera in the same area. Maybe the other plants are stealing the nutrients from the daffodils and I need to add something to the soil. I'll do that, but it doesn't fix the problem for this year! =(
JEWELS, glad to hear that Charlie was moved out of ICU.
LYNN, hope you feel better than semi to enjoy lunch with the girls!
oh, thanks Megan...I had forgotten about letting the foliage die back thing. I actually "braid" the foliage so it doesn't look all goofy and all over the place!
CROWS....now, the sound they are making doesn't sound exactly like the crows I ususally hear here. FISH CROWS??? Could be!
Only one baby fell out of the nest Lynne 2 The other one is there but needless to say my heart just doesn't really want to watch that one for a few days now. I have Shep up on my spare monitor cheering him on to FEED THOSE WEE ONES.
MEGAN, 2 years ago, I didn't let the foliage from the daffodils die back on its own b/c I wanted to plant the other perennials. But last year, i was very good and didn't touch them and STILL no flowers this year! I'm such an impatient gardener (actually, I'm pretty impatient about most things). I prefer instant gratification! If a shrub gets "ugly," I'm not inclined to cut it back and give it time to recoup - I just dig it up and plant something else!
Well, I think, that if, GOD FORBID, Shep doesn't get the feeding thing down for a while, that Belle will make sure they won't go hungry. She is the experience one! And he certainly knows how to fish!
I planted Daylillies (which are coming up fast and furious) with the Daffies under the flag pole. As the daffy foliage dies off, the daylillies hid the dying foliage. Works out great!
will do Megan....it has really grown well out front in the bed! I'll be glad to move some of it out back. The butterflies and hummers and hummingbird moths just love it and it smells so good!
SHARON, I am so sorry for your loss. But you can take comfort in knowing that (1) you were a wonderful friend to her through her illness and (2) there is no more pain for Nila now. Prayers for you.
Sharon,... and Nila ♥♥ You joined hearts in this struggle, may Nila rest in dear precious Peace.... Prayers of Comfort for you and all the family (( Hugs ♥ ))
I suspect that a benefit of all the flugg tossing is to keep parasites at bay? Keeping things "aired out", too. And heck, sitting on chicks is probably boring. Gotta have something to do!
LYNNE2, I've been checking the hummer map every couple of days; think I'll hold off at least for another week to put my feeders out. There haven't been any sightings in DE yet and we really stay cooler here right at the coast.
Margy, you will be pleased to know he spotted Orion in the sky last night. We had a lot of discussion about constellations.
Will put those little glowing stars all over the ceiling in the room Hunter now occupies. And he took the time to put them in the appropriate constellations.
Susan also put stars on her ceiling, but they are just random.
Sharon, mom and I send our deepest sympathies. She is not in pain any longer. She knows you loved her so much. Our hugs and thoughts n prayers to you and her family.
Girls will be here soon. Think we are going to Red Lobster in Hagerstown, so plan on a drink, a lobster tail and biscuits! Signing off for now. Later gators.
I'm elated, we finally have our Columbus Eagle Cam at Highbanks Metro Park. The nest is about 5 miles due north of me on the Olentangy River that runs within two blocks of my home. It doesn't look like good camera placement if this is the only view we'll get, but it's a start. The wildlife pros out there say the two eagles, each about 7 years old, have returned for their third year, but they apparently have no eggs yet. 1st year they had two eggs, but only one viable and raised to fledge. Last year they had two successful hatchings and fledgings. As you can see, they also have a Sycamore Palace though the park is more well known for it's hickory trees.
LYNN, no better tonic than a visit with daughters and a Red Lobster feast ! So happy for you !
SHARON, I know you'll miss Nila terribly, but hope you'll find joy in knowing she suffers no more. She's received the ultimate promotion, God rest her soul.♥
KAY, great raptor watching for you in Columbus! Your falcon cam is up and running and now an eagle cam! Great! Would you look at the time - why it's almost 2:00!!
Kay, how are you feeling today? Hope you are comfortable. Thanks for the new cam. I like the blue sky I see. ☺ Interesting that the cam fires up when there is motion.
Hi SANDI and LOLLY ! Yes, I'm pleased to have the falcons and the eagles on cam, but still find myself more interested in "our" nest.
Feeling about the same and most anxious to get that spinal injection Thursday. Between the TENS and two pain killers I'm coping, though never entirely free of pain. If I took enough of the pills to do the job I'd be completely out of it, I'm afraid.
Camera shakes, so someone is close by...that is good, not as worried now... They look as if they are trying to crawl out of the cup...LOL Here comes someone...Belle...
I just keep thinking about the incident at Blackwater this year, though I'm sure eagle parents leave their little chicks unattended often when the weather permits.
LOLLY, it certainly does look like Columbus is tending to eggs or eaglets. I can't find any report that updates beyond the fact that they have returned. Very frustrating--I'll keep looking for info.
SHARON, I'm so sorry that you have lost one of your dearest friends. I'll be thinking of both of you today and saying prayers for peace and comfort. ((BIG HUGS)) ♥
I've had the local nest up since 11a.m. and didn't see an eagle until about 1:45, so I figured no action. I see now that I could very easily have missed seeing one there all along. Such a poor view, boo hiss ! Any local lurkers out there---if so, please join us and tell me what you've observed at the Highbanks nest !
Another big fish...Belle vocalizes and gets up...Shep leaves the fish to her and she takes it towards noon and starts on it...it is still wiggling...FRESh for sure!!! Belle feeds the chicks and Shep poofs...
Well I know what Belle prefers on the menu. She is super Mom and well we know Shep isn't starving BUT he does get left overs. He does have this fishing part down very well indeed.

Off to Moms I go!!! Be back soon!
Oh, good, CAROLYN is off to Mom's. That means LYNN feels up to dining with her girls today ! Hurray !
What a sweet little feeding scene ! Our eaglets are looking healthy and adorable !
Girls will be here soon. Think we are going to Red Lobster in Hagerstown, so plan on a drink, a lobster tail and biscuits!
Signing off for now. Later gators.
Hi gang! Home from church and thinking of Lynn and her girls having lunch.♥
Sharon, (((Hugs))) I liked what Jewels said...Nilla knew you loved her. What an inspiration she was and now she is at peace. Prayers for her family.
I see the eaglets have been fed and are now resting in the sunshine.
Yum...Red Lobster....wait for me!!!!
LYNN, enjoy your lunch with the girls! ♥
Columbus Eagle Cam
ROBYN, thanks for Tori's address. Okay all....lets flood Tori with cards of encouragement. Fun cards to bring a smile to her face!!
Awww Red Lobster will be awesome. Geesh have an extra biscuit for me. I so hope you have a wonderful afternoon Lynn
One of the Columbus eagles is busy with something. So frustrating not to be able to see into the nest !
Kay, how are you feeling today? Hope you are comfortable. Thanks for the new cam. I like the blue sky I see. ☺ Interesting that the cam fires up when there is motion.
Just had to refresh our cam. Belle taking a breather and looking down at her babes.
It looks like it is tending to an eaglet, but you said so far this year no eggs. Hmmmm????
Belle just poofed. Babes alone!
They are half buried in flugg. They were asleep but when she poofed they started stirring.
Oh my! 2 babies with no parent at the nest! When did Belle leave?
LOL They looked like they were wrestling.
Poop shoot!!
Just a couple of minutes ago.
Belle hasn't been gone long, she was there when I started that last post. Missed her departure while looking at the Columbus nest.
Just sitting here watching 2 chicklets ... and watching the clock! =)
OK they are really cute and I am glad we can see them...could someone please come back home and cover those chicks!!!
OK, I hear someone in the attic!
Eagle on the cam or near it.
Belle is back.
Belle returns! Shew!!
They are wrestling--how cute ! Belle's back.
Camera shakes, so someone is close by...that is good, not as worried now...
They look as if they are trying to crawl out of the cup...LOL
Here comes someone...Belle...
SHARON, so very sorry about Nila's passing. May she and ALL find peace.
Bobbles are trying to make their escape. Good think that cup is nice and deep.
Someone just landed on the camera and now Belle has landed.
Sibling rivalry is ON today.
I just keep thinking about the incident at Blackwater this year, though I'm sure eagle parents leave their little chicks unattended often when the weather permits.
How many fish do you count? I have seen Lib line up a lot of fish, but I never saw this many fish before!
I laughed, Lynne, at your remark about Shep being a better fisherman that Steve.
LOLLY, it certainly does look like Columbus is tending to eggs or eaglets. I can't find any report that updates beyond the fact that they have returned. Very frustrating--I'll keep looking for info.
Even when they appear to be alone, a parent is always watching...barring events like intruders.
Lolly, I counted ten earlier, as best that I could from the pile. Shep certainly has provider skills.
Kay, good to see you back. Hope you're feeling much better!!
I HATE TO WAIT!
Shep arrives with - ANOTHER FISH!!!
Oh my gosh, Shep is in with yet another fish, a nice one.
Ya know we do still need a few fish in the river to spawn for next year. LOL
Another big fish...Belle vocalizes and gets up...Shep leaves the fish to her and she takes it towards noon and starts on it...it is still wiggling...FRESh for sure!!! Belle feeds the chicks and Shep poofs...
SHEP POOF
Belle is feeding chicks again.
Well I know what Belle prefers on the menu. She is super Mom and well we know Shep isn't starving BUT he does get left overs. He does have this fishing part down very well indeed.
Shep, come on, watch Belle---get the drift ? Aw, you chicken, you poofed. You are a really good provider though !
Very glad that LYNN is going to RL...sounds delicious...wished I was there too...
Belle takes off again...chicks untended
Camera shakes someone in the attic...
chicks are cute and wrestling with one another LOL
Shep is back!
LOL Sandi...know what you mean about being impatient and hate waiting!
Was doing other stuff on fb but saw that wiggly fish brought in. Don't you know that nest stinks!!
Shep is in. Guess he will sit there with "deat" fish in his face. LOL
OK, Belle can take a LONG break now - those chicks are well-fed! Shep doing what he does - baby sitting!
