I can't figure out why I cant get on to the still cam...
I may have to disappear because I just heard thunder ( I think). Anyway, I'm behind you all in any quiet and forceful action you will take in order to get the live cam up. It does seem interesting that an eagle cam could cause any kind of security problem...I mean like what could terrorists see in an eagles nest, besides eagles and chicks! I'm baffled!
Buta Buta has become quite a climber but I'd be much happier if she'd figure out a way to get DOWN! It's true that she does have a concerned Mama that will grab a leg and pull her down from the "vast heights"...okay, 18 inches IS a lot of bedding, but still!
Fish in nest at Norfolk parent left. Can see two chicks heads. Can't see the egg even if I full screen it. Hole is too small. Parent back. Parent feeding still only see two chicks.
GOOD EARLY MORNING THREAD Do you think Steven knows something, we don't know giving us such an early thread:):):)? Sandra, Tai is just doing wonderfully, and Geula, Buta has learned a way to get down, she just drops to the floor:). They are sturdy bears, so not to worry. Zoo day for me this afternoon and meeting tonight, so this is the day I get quiet time with the pandas, when they close the buildings at 4:30. Just me, the cam operator and the most wonderful pandas in the world, IMHO:).
I've ask the professional for sure whether female or male. Sure is pretty.
That was so funny though. It wasn't turning to face camera. Just as I was typing "hey you there in osprey box" I was going to tell it to turn an face camera. All I got out was what is in quotes and it turned and faced camera like it heard me. LOL
Man I missed sending Lisa (I know she is on vacation I've tried not to send; I'm in same fix as Suzanne) a great picture. Osprey was in air holding onto dirt and grass in falcons. Couldn't get it to snap pic. Somehow a stupid ad was underneath my pics. Suzanne did you get the shot to send to Lisa??? I don't need it but hope someone got it to send to her.
Well with the black spot, looks like Spirit...but it is soooo big........PAULA, sure BW is getting dozens of calls, and they are probably stressed that Lisa isn't there to handle them.
Good Mid Morning All Lots of activity being reported here this am hour. Osprey-Lisa had a comparison pic of the male & female on her news updates just the other day. The main distinction is the female has the 'necklace' of dark feathers on her breast. Geula Hello! Think of you often & so glad you are watching eaglets and the little panda princess! Need to check out emails.
Mits thats a good one lol. Tell that to these biologist that write up these papers. That say they study these Osprey's habits. I do agree about Mother Nature.
Dana, I can't readily find a pic of the male. Adult male: * Underparts entirely white Adult female: * Dark necklace of streaks on throat That will help us ID who is who - as long as we can see their stomachs! lol
I just looked at the pics I took on the last egg turning. There is a black spot on the end of one of the eggs. I don't know what it is. I put the pic on Momsters.
The Sidney nest at Hancock Wildlife has the incubating eagle in the nest. All our nest are busy with chicks or eggs (or both) Kent best get in the swing! Maybe Star will spend the night.
LOL...was Paula here today?? Back from zoo around 9, still 72°, when I left zoo. Pandas are fantastic, everyone on Asia trail is doing great, the clouded leopard the escaped back in Dec, may be pregnant..MTBR. Mei's hormones are still the same, nothing yet with her. Lots of people at the zoo today. At the meeting tonight. Laurie the panda keeper showed us pics from her trip to Shanghai, last October. Great stuff. See no chicks at our nest, and watching Star at KENT??
Belle hasn't tucked her head under her wing all night.
Was going to mention to you about the osprey nest update. Someone must fill in for Lisa in her absence. The eagle cam was froze for some time this evening. Paula noticed it.
Good Morning Suzanne Please check our nest as soon as it gets daylight... No chick as of late last night.... So maybe this early morning will bring us something special!
Hello Suzanne. I'm going to disconnect IV and go to bed. Wings are spread wide, rain is coming hard in spurts. I'm sure our babies will be fine, as the eagles are smarter than we are.
Nice job reporting Suzanne. I'm not asleep but I have been sick and still not feeling greatest. On my way to coffee and dog treats though it is my neighbors Anniversay today. Enjoy the eagle viewing. Cheer ont he hatching, I will be so glad to see a hatching in that nest!!!

Well I typed this once already and it didn't publish.
Geula contrs on being first one here sure is good hearing from you. Hope to see you in here when storm is over.
Suzanne I am waiting for you to come over. Tapping foot (just kidding)
I just came back from going over and looking for you Suzanne hugs.
Glad you got here.
Can see chicks head in Norfolk Va. Trying to see if there is still an egg. Stretching my neck looking.
Boy don't the BW chicklets grow FAST! WOW!
Fish in nest at Norfolk parent left. Can see two chicks heads. Can't see the egg even if I full screen it. Hole is too small. Parent back. Parent feeding still only see two chicks.
Maine turned her egg or egg this morning.
Yes Suzanne BW chicks are growing. I love to watch their eyes follow the parents.
This Osprey is a male not the one that was there yesterday.

Suzanne did they have a shift change at our nest???
Tai is on his way out the shoot even as we speak.
( : Oh my Mits that sounds wonderful. Good Morning have a special time with the pandas.
Norfolk Va dad just brought in nice fish and left.
Suzanne is it Liberty sitting on the nest now??
I just love the osprey, beautiful birds, like the eagles and falcons.
Man, you can't get any closer than that James River Bridge falcon-cam. SUZANNE, she has 4 eggs now:).
Can't tell, but this one has 2 legs.
I believe it is a male osprey
I've ask the professional for sure whether female or male. Sure is pretty.
That was so funny though. It wasn't turning to face camera. Just as I was typing "hey you there in osprey box" I was going to tell it to turn an face camera. All I got out was what is in quotes and it turned and faced camera like it heard me. LOL
This one loves possing for pictures lol
Suzanne I not placing any bets on you getting your computer at home up. I hope you do though.
Ok where are these 4 eggs at???
DON'T FORGET LISA IS OFF TIL SATURDAY:)
DANA, go to the VA cam and look to the right....where it says falcon and eagle cams.
Wondering if this Osprey has decided to make this his nest at BW.
Males are suppose to get here first then the females follow.
Oh dear, dad falcon just brought in breakfast for mom, at PA.
Looks like a female at BW, got the necklace.
Where are all our people that visited BW at Cambridge this season and last. For an opinion; let's see: Suzanne, Megan, and Paula.
Is that a male or female at the Osprey nest BW.????
Man I missed sending Lisa (I know she is on vacation I've tried not to send; I'm in same fix as Suzanne) a great picture. Osprey was in air holding onto dirt and grass in falcons. Couldn't get it to snap pic. Somehow a stupid ad was underneath my pics. Suzanne did you get the shot to send to Lisa??? I don't need it but hope someone got it to send to her.
Maine is sure turning those eggs.
DANA, why don't you just check Lisa's pic from yesterday?
Egg is still there it was just showing in Norfolk.
I have I need to see a pic of a male from the front. The neck area doesn't look quite as dark as the one in Lisa's pic of the necklace.
So at first yes I said female then I went with male. The back and forth.
I sent it, DANA.
That looks like a female Osprey
My osprey is ok, but eagle is frozen in time.
Blog killed my comment!!
Hi everyone...especially Geula...nice to hear from you.
Eagle cam at BW is frozen at 9:21.
Female Osprey..well preened now.
Wonder what determines which Ospreys nest here and when.
Jim
Man, how are we going to get BW unstuck without Lisa????
We could call them, Mits
It looks like Miss Star maybe spent the night, watched til dark last night and she flew off right before dark settled in.
Feeding at VA
Still 2 little heads at VA, both getting food
Well with the black spot, looks like Spirit...but it is soooo big........PAULA, sure BW is getting dozens of calls, and they are probably stressed that Lisa isn't there to handle them.
Now I don't see the spot.
Ton of fish at VA...and yes, I can see the flies on them....didn't realize flies were out this early
PAULA, how's your son feeling today??
Says he feels like he did 1000 crunches! Doing pretty good, tho.
Good Mid Morning All
Lots of activity being reported here this am hour.
Think your right, SUZANNE, just another practice run:).
Egg turning our nest...can't see much
Zooming in at VA
Would someone please tell that eagle in VA to move so we can see into the nest :)
LOL. those little guys didn't want to go back down under mom
Osprey still at Osprey cam
Can still see an egg at VA
I think they have 3 fishing laying in that VA nest
Osprey cam stuck again
How'd you like to have sniff-a-cam at VA?
WHERE IS MEGAN?????
EAGLE CAM UNSTUCK AT BW
Megan is very busy in the greenhouse. Had an email response yesterday. She is alive and well.
Where is Norma this morning - study group?
Beautiful shot now of the femal osprey who apparently is claiming her nest.
Thanks, Jo.
Bet you falcon in PA, lays an egg soon, she is up and down and sounds like she is in distress right now.
Check out Osprey Cam
WOW, looks like the happy couple buying a used osprey nest.
Checking out the foundation at the osprey cam.
This Osprey has brought grass and pine into the nest.
See you tomorrow Suzanne
Have a beautiful ride home, Suzanne
Put your windows down!
Our one legged osprey is at the nest now! Suzanne pointed out that this one has yellow eyes whereas the others all have brilliant blue eyes.
Tiny the youngest in the BW nest is really learning to move around. So cute. Chubs is out of it sleeping.
DANA, both male and female were there this a.m. I don't think nature is written in stone.
Do we have a pic of the male??? If someone does please send it to me. Thank you.
Can one of you hold up the tail of the eagle at VA so I can look into the hole to see if egg is still intact???????? LOL
Mits thats a good one lol. Tell that to these biologist that write up these papers. That say they study these Osprey's habits. I do agree about Mother Nature.
Dana, I can't readily find a pic of the male.
Adult male:
* Underparts entirely white
Adult female:
* Dark necklace of streaks on throat
That will help us ID who is who - as long as we can see their stomachs! lol
I have an afternoon appointment - need to leave for a few hours.
BBL Keep your eyes on OUR nest
There are two ospreys on the BW osprey nest. One is eating the other is on the edge of platform. I think we have a "pair". 1:43pm
Long feeding in VA, think there is still an egg in the nest
Belle is in our nest now, there was a switch a little over an hour ago.
egg turning our nest
Belle was just up again checking the eggs
Belle is up again
BW chicks are up again
Mama in VA just grabbed herself a little snack, now she is feeding chicks again. You can still see an egg in the nest
BW eagle cam stuck on 14:14
Mama back on the chicks at VA
Sorry someone else will have to watch our nest please and VA for that egg to hatch.
I have just been stressed out and need to lay down.
Thank you wvgal_dana
2 parents at VA, Hope Dad takes some of that fish with him :)
Mom was up at VA, stretching her wings for a few minutes, then she finally took off, Dad is now on the chicks. Still one unhatched egg.
BW eagle cam still stuck, Osprey back at Osprey nest
Dad at VA looks hot, beak open, wings spread over chicks.
Eggs turned our nest
BW eagle cam is unstuck!!!
I just looked at the pics I took on the last egg turning. There is a black spot on the end of one of the eggs. I don't know what it is. I put the pic on Momsters.
I think the one legged osprey is back
Bw stuck at 15:06
2 legged osprey on nest now
Egg check our nest, probably rolled too
Switch at our nest, Lib cam in, Belle went out
They must be adjusting the cam at Norfolk...looks weird, you can see them working on it
Norfolk is experiencing technical difficulties
It looks like the PA falcon is preparing the nest bed some more. What beautiful birds!
Both BW cams stuck now...I think the wind is not helping the cams today.
NOrfolk is back. Hey Sharon how ya doing?
Egg turning our nest...both seem to be doing a lot of tucking in today.
Lib just got up and rearranged again...wings slightly spread
Awww.. no fuzzy heads yet??
I guess we have to watch and wait and in the meantime watch the VA eaglets.
Lib was just peeking under his chest
Osprey are making quick in and outs. Caught a pic of one coming down, but he was gone next refresh.
Bw eagle cam is getting stuck about every 10 minutes or so.
Hey Jennifer, I think if willing them to hatch would work, they would all 3 be by now!
BW Eaglet looks like he is sitting up! You can see his feet!
I also just noticed at BW that you can start to see the poop on the outer branches.
Egg roll our nest, a quick one.
Looks like a crack or hole in the VA egg....egg turn our nest, plus one about 10 minutes ago
all covered back up at VA
Osprey still in the nest at BW, think she is guarding while he goes and gets sticks.
LOL Paula, no doubt. I wish we had exact dates as to when the first two were laid, it would give us a better idea as to when to expect the eaglets.
Egg check or roll our nest, only caught the tail end of it
It should be this week, Jennifer. The third egg will be 35 days old on Monday.
Also, she had 2 eggs on the 9th of February when the cam came back up
Definitely a crack in the VA 3rd egg.
Our cam is stuck on 5:05
Both BW cams stuck, too.
Whew! Our cam is unstuck!
More feeding at VA, which for me is freezing up regularly
Geesh Dana, you thought you scared people away :)
Man I missed it. Had to reboot computer and eagle in VA brought in a bird!
Might be a pigeon, grayish in color, laying right in front of the cam
Mama brought in the bird, just grabbed it by the neck, gave it a little twist, guess she was making sure it was dead.
2 sleeping eaglets at BW
Feeding time at BW
Belle is back
both are still there but Belles head is in the way of the eggs
Eaglet maybe at our nest?? Can't tell but both Liberty and Belle are there and neither is sitting on the nest
They appear to be watching something down in the field...dark black spots keep moving
Lib left, Belle is on the nest
Nope, I saw all 3 eggs still. Darn!
MT blog
Belle was just off the eggs looking at them
Just looked in on BW - Lord BW has one chick under his head and the other under his wing.........
KENT eagle in the nest at this time.
The Sidney nest at Hancock Wildlife has the incubating eagle in the nest.
All our nest are busy with chicks or eggs (or both) Kent best get in the swing! Maybe Star will spend the night.
Jo, that is a cute pic at BW....it's frozen again!
I was wondering just how long they would stay laying that way....Didn't notice it had froze.. Good way to end the day!
I am outta here for tonight....have a good one!
Someone placed a new pic on the Osprey Nest Update... It sure does answer all our questions about gender.
Still don't see an egg at KENT.
But, she's looking at the nest hole.
no eagle in KENT nest now, on the branch.
Man! I wish she would get back in the nest and get serious!
Belle is looking around her eyes are glowing in the dark.
OUR NEST - I think it is Belle
Her eye is gleaming
Ho Ho Mits - I was wondering if anyone else saw that gleam in her eye!
LOL, it was really gleaming there:).
I wonder if when the eagles are ready to drop the egg, they feel constipated??????
EAGLE BACK IN NEST AT KENT.
Belle is wide awake.
BOTH EAGLES AT KENT NEST.
WOW, don't know who put it on the site, but there is a great pic on mating osprey at BW, and they address the problems with the cams.
Chicks out in open at BW, hope they enjoy this very short-lived mild spell we are having.
Eagles all gone at KENT, just not ready yet.
On radar looks like it may be a storm heading straight for Sherperdstown, maybe that is why Bell seems anxious.
Belle hasn't tucked her head under her wing all night.
Was going to mention to you about the osprey nest update. Someone must fill in for Lisa in her absence. The eagle cam was froze for some time this evening. Paula noticed it.
Doesn't look as though there is anything to eat in the BW nest. Sorta like my refrigerator right now! lol
Paula You have Mail
Looks like the storm that was headed to Sheperdstown is starting to fizzle out, good news for Belle.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
Just as one storm was calming down, another little one has popped up west of Sheperdstown, hope this one fizzles out also.
Calling it a day...........
Good Night Everyone
Pleasant dreams & Peaceful sleep
Prayers for all being said
Good Morning Suzanne
Please check our nest as soon as it
gets daylight... No chick as of late
last night.... So maybe this early morning will bring us something special!
At 11:40, thunder then suddenly huge rainstorm. Trust the eagles.
At 12:10 raining very very hard. Thunder. Eagle has wings partly spread.
Hello Suzanne. I'm going to disconnect IV and go to bed. Wings are spread wide, rain is coming hard in spurts. I'm sure our babies will be fine, as the eagles are smarter than we are.
Good evening, everybody ...
Still hatchlingless tonight?? I've lost track of the days...what was the date the last egg was laid, please??
I saw that pic at BW of the Osprey pair, and before starting home from work, I took a look and a female was there until dark tonight.
Does anyone know if she is the same lady as was on the nest this morning? Or better yet, do you know if it is the same pair as last year??
Jim
Nice job reporting Suzanne. I'm not asleep but I have been sick and still not feeling greatest. On my way to coffee and dog treats though it is my neighbors Anniversay today. Enjoy the eagle viewing. Cheer ont he hatching, I will be so glad to see a hatching in that nest!!!
New thread up!
