Big doings here this morning. I drove in to see our eagle pair perched above the nest.
Steve Wunderley caught me as I came in and said that he observed the pair mating ealier this AM. Steve says that that is a very good sign for another clutch. No guarantees, but steve said it is promising.
Steve also said that this is a very unusual pair of eagles, and we should expect the unexpected.
Update:
If there was some success, we should see an eggs or eggs in about a week.

Good Morning, by the time I get to work and check in its lunch for you on the east coast. I'm thrilled about the news. I didnt realize how much it was affecting me.Paula I am going to Catalina to crash. I am turning 65 and I wanted to go to Hawaii again but cant right now so I had to pick something closer. Its a good substitute. I'm saving my money for an Alaskan cruise this Sept. Back to work my desk looks like a bomb hit it.Its a better day today.....

Wow, great eagle news, thanks Steve and Steve! Here's what happened today for me, thanks to much support from townspeople and customers, the committee realized it might be a good idea to leave the market alone for this year and let us remain in control for now, working with the committee towards restructuring the mkt. next year. So the mkt. will open this Sunday, and we are good to go for right now. Thanks to everyione who sent emails, and who came to speak, we have scored a victory and now we need to focus on growing and gearing up for this season. Thanks again.

Paula, that would be Peedab. She is happy as long as Mommy is here. Mommy is doing okay. Still staying in bed most of the time. She has a lot of back and hip pain that keeps her down. That plus the dementia and the depression, it is all pretty much keeping her down. Thanks for asking!

I really could not tell Dana, looked kinda skinny, but long...just nice to see an eagle in our nest.....Well it was a pleasure to meet, MEMA JO and her wonderful family.They picked a beautiful day for the zoo, and Mei and Tian really put on a show. Like Jo said, felt like you could just reach out and touch Tai's head, he was so close.
That was my first time to see one of ours back in the nest with my own crying eyes.

I was reading on one of these sites the other day that she has to fatten up to produce the fat portions of the egg and to get ready for more than a month on the nest in the elements (which should be more moderate now that it is Spring).
It's great to see them again, that's right.

I think the BW Osprey lady has left for the night too. There's somebody there guarding the nest most of the day, but nobody stays the night.
The BW eaglets just got fed and are flaking out now...I saw No. 1 chick's big feet next to the mother's this afternoon, and they are almost as big. So, based on that and the fact that 2/3's of the oldest are female, I fearlessly predict that the oldest BW chick is female.

So glad Megan it all worked out for you. I was praying. Here is Martinsburg a lady was doing the market for years. Then they decided she needed all these liscense and by the time she would pay all that out. She wouldn't make enough to work. That was a sad sad thing to loose such a wonderful lady selling produce.
