Sorry to hear about the hacked FB accounts! Some people have nothing to do better with their time!
Our nightlite just kicked on.
Had fun at Colorfest, didn't buy very much this year.
Waiting for Michael and Laura to get here, gonna cook some steaks on the grill.
My post never posted....wrote that an hour ago! Oh, and I hate stinkbugs! Been picking them up and throwing into bucket of soapy water...had some holey screens, got them fixed.
Shirley, I do hope your life settles down very, very soon. What a change in lifestyle. Surely would not want a dog that had rolled in poop.
Lynn, congratulations on making a safe trip to the OXB.
Jo, cool your son saw two eagles. Wish we had some close by to see.
Paula, I WANT A STEAK! Have had a long and physically tiring day.
Got Darth's closet cleaned out and most of the "stuff" up off the bedroom floor. About 75% done with what I can get away with. Will try to finish up tomorrow. Found a few stink bugs, also.
Sorry about the FB problems. Hope everyone is able to secure their accounts. Have had students ask to "friend" me but not taking any chances they'll trash me to the world.
Jim, treat yourself and go see Secretariat.
Going to the frig to seek inspiration since Paula didn't invite me for steak.
He crawled out of the bag I carry with my oxygen - We were in the last pew so it didn't disturb anyone! I had just wanted to stomp on him but couldn't..
I could have thrown that stink bug into the holy water or at least had him receive his Last Rights! I have thrown so many the past 2 days into the sudsy water.
Shirley, that's just terrible about the dog rolling in poop. I know that experience!
My feeder pole morning glory was almost all grown back in at the bottom from the deer eating eat, and dang if they didn't come back last night to eat it again. UGH. AND, they ate much of my little Mimosa sapling as well!!!! I have a bottle of bitter stuff that I got to spray on my houseplants that Joker (or Jerko when he's bad) likes to chew on. I'm going to douse the Mimosa in it before I go to bed and hopefully they will leave it alone.
I did get a nap in my recliner. I kept the dogs on the porch until just a little while ago, then brought them in and fed them. Basset play fights have been taking place.
Judie, it sounds as if you have had a busy day. I have students who want to friend me on Facebook, too. Do they really want me to see their Facebook stuff. I am sure it is more revealing than mine is.
One kid announced that she had found my picture, but that's all. I have been careful about security because I do not really want to deal with kids on my account. No way.
I do have some volunteer morning glory plants in my yard. I don't think we have deer around here anymore. Too many people now. There were deer when we first moved in. One day there was even a hunter at the edge my backyard shooting. Scared me when I heard the shot.
I've had a couple of nice conversations with Susan today. She is thinking about going to Ecuador in January to fulfill her foreign language requirements.
She is taking a 6-hour Spanish course right now, and could finish up by going to Ecuador for two weeks during winter break.
I think it sounds interesting. She has asked me to send her birth certificate so she can get her passport taken care of.
Yep, Lynne, I called the sheriff's office, but they said that they could do nothing about it. I really think that is not true.
I am not 100% sure he was on my property, but I think he probably was. And I live in a subdivision. There was a little stand of trees and then an open field. It is now all houses.
She stood very still and let me wash her, though. Kathryn had just paid a lot of money to have the dogs groomed last weekend. She would have been thrilled. I thought about taking her to Bark and Bubble, but I did not want her in my car.
Bark and Bubble...too cute! Is that one of those self serve dog wash places?
Wow, I don't believe the Sheriff couldn't do anything, either. Crazy.
23 more stinkbugs.
Saw a Raven today!!! Heard him first, early this morning, but didn't see him then. But he came back around in the afternoon. He was flying with turkey buzzards! Got confirmation through the binos. They are so big...not as big as a buzzard, but way bigger than a crow.
I think you can wash them yourself, but Kathryn has been letting them do it.
I got the dogs on the porch and ran some water into a flower watering can because I thought it would be less scary than the hose. Luna just stood there and let me wash her. She is a gentle soul.
Have received some encouraging news about my sister Anne.... for her children she opened her eyes, squeezed their hands on command, and although it's tough to watch, she was showing signs of being in pain....none of this was happening the last few days
Talk about some positive prayer action.... ☺
Her kids are really excited to see an upswing for a change, though ever so slight a change
Tests yesterday showed no damage or infection to her heart....well, she has a king-size heart, this does not surprise me
Thanks for your concerns....
I need to catch up you all now, going to take notes, on a BIG piece of paper. Might not use cursive though, I can seldom read my own handwriting xo
Shirley: Anne married a widower with ten children in 1970 - oldest one was 13 they then had five more of their own...and the granchildren...well, uh, somewhere more than 70.. most of them are pretty close to the DC area
Jo has a Saturday night Movie date with Hubby ♥ ♥ have fun !
Hi all! Sorry, Shirley, about the poopy dog. That is not fun!
Hi Margy! Are you busy reading backwards?
Jo, they should check for stink bugs at the doors of the church. LOL Stink bug check!
We are in for the night. Did two hikes and then rode. You would think it was a weekend in the mts, or something!!!! We drove north to Dixville Notch to get away from the crowds. Had a great drive, however, all mooses have been removed from the state.
Now Jack is watching football, hockey, and checking on the TX Rangers on the laptop.
Supposed to freeze tonight! Jack will disconnect the hose and drain it. The fresh water tank is full so it should be okay.
the sitemeter always makes me ponder who is here but not talking.... DON'T BE SHY FOLKS!!! We don't bite! Wait, does anyone bite? LOL!
Speaking of which, no Lori, Pam, Dana, Ragdoll, BEagle or sUSAan for a while... or our new daddy, although I'm sure he is busier than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs! I guess everyone will be back when Nestorations become more frequent.
Margy, did you get to spend some time with James yesterday?
lol Margy...don't come knockin if the trailers rockin!!
OMG That is where we were today! We went north to Dixville Notch. We went through Berlin (on that map) and further north. Twin Mt. is right beside Bethlehem, on that map.
Gonna have to put the shock mat back on the sofa, though. Flash climbed up there and I threw a sales catalog at him (small catalog). I just do not want dogs on my new sofa.
The shock mat deters them even without being turned on.
I guess it might have been harder to feel if you were moving Lolly...glad there were no incidents!
Shirley, glad the shock matt works. I was thinking of getting a shock collar...for Steve. Then I can shock HIM every time he lets Bad and Worse do something they are not allowed to do. Or when he sneaks them food at the table.
think I'll go get a shower and read for a while. Reading a book called "An Eagle Named Freedom". Really good so far. I feel asleep reading last night and now have to find where I left off.
Lolly, I've been wondering why you chose that town to spend so much time there? Lots of what....? Pictures are so pretty...did you know it was so picturesque?...but, then most of New England is picturesque!
well, yes I am a newlywed.....it's just, uh, well, tonight is a better night for READING. Tomorrow night, hopefully, will NOT be a good night for reading....oh my blush blush.
OH, I was wrong on the time of the quake...it happened at 11:16 pm LAST night. Perhaps it wasn't a good night for reading near you in NH, ala don't come a knockin' if the trailers rockin' LOL!!!
Wanda, we were here three years ago. Twin Mt. is teeny, but it has a great KOA. It is a central location. We drive out every day. Lots to see...mountains, fall foliage, and great hiking in the mountains and forests. We love it.
Will has a roommate. They have been friends for some time. They'd thought of sharing a place before. His roommate has the little dog that Will had kept here once or twice before.
you know, when we were coming back from Turkey Point last weekend, we saw at least 100 tour buses heading north on 95. Probably closer to 150, just one after the other. We saw a whole bunch before we started counting. And we were only on 95 for about 40 minutes! We couldn't imagine where they were all going to!
We were in that area in June, so we didn't get to see those beautifully colored trees. We did enjoy the beautiful flowers in flower boxes in nearly every town that we traveled through. Thought we could go Lobstering, like we go crabbing, but it just doesn't work that way:( Lobsters are not any cheaper up there than they are down here...fresher though:)
Nite Shirley! I have added new pictures taken today. While loading them I noticed the date on my camera is wrong. These pictures were taken today!
Think I am going to get ready to hit the hay!
Really enjoyed the chat tonight. Won't be long until we get to have fun! Yea!
Wanda, there is a place here that has the most fantastic Lobster rolls. We had them 3 years ago and again last Sunday. We are going there tomorrow....one more time. Chowder, lobster rolls, and the best onion rings ever....here we come!!!
Back again but not for long. My bark is worse than my bite but I do try to keep up my annual shots. No, I did NOT throw out Darth's clothes but I cannot describe the intense temptation.
Margy, so good to have some news of Anne that seems optimistic. Prayers for her continue. By the way, now I know why we have so much congestion in this area.lol
Still no invite from Paula so I had a cheese sandwich. Wanda's steak dinner also sounds yummy.
Hmmm, wonder how Will is going to adjust to an air mattress. Perhaps the visit to Walmart was prompted by Luna's adventure.
A raven? Never seen one that I know of but would like to someday.
Lolly, don't forget to have a lobster roll but ask some of the locals for their favorite place.
Well, it has been a long and physically tiring day. I think the sandperson will arrive very soon now.
Turning my light off but will leave the night light on for others coming in, headed back the hallway, rinsing sand from between her toes, or others stumbling in later.
I think someone gave Service Error 503 the Heave-Ho ! We like old' 503 as much as we like Stink Bugs !
Good Night to those on or near the pillows
Hedgie: posted earlier, Anne has improved, opening eyes to voice, making some movement upon command, and some in response to pain/discomfort got a looong way to go
Jo Dry Run Rd out of and through part of Hedgesville, including going thru the little village of "Tomahawk" goes right over Back Creek...as Lynn mentioned, that is also the creek that is at Swinging Bridge, and I take Dry Run Rd to get there ! Yay for your son seeing those eagles
Also, way cool that you spoke with Norma today....☺
Good Night Judie ! Hilarious comment about congestion in the Annandale/Fairfax area! You are so right !
Hey folks, I did a lot of night-time reading on these last few threads and there is a lot I took notes on, but, the sandperson is banging on the door here.... let me finish with this:
YES I SURELY DID FEEL THE MOMSTER AND DADSTER HUGS AND I STILL DO....
Your comfort and love and prayers has kept me safe and hopeful through these last few days and will continue through the days to come....and has surely helped my sister.... THANK YOU, WITH LOVE, AND
Caught up again....but too tired to comment. Sorry! Margy, so good that Anne is showing some signs of conciousness. Heading for bed. Talk to you sometime tomorrow. Love you all!
Margy, I'm wondering if any of those 15 children are twins...surely there must be a set of twins somewhere in that 70+ grandchildren:) Still praying for Anne and Margy.
Judie, glad you left some clothes for Darth...want to meet this guy:) If you married him, he has to be one of the GOOD GUYS:)
LYNNE, if you loose your Mimosa, I have oodles of saplings here.
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS SWEET DREAMS PRAYERS FOR ALL
Hi, Everyone, Getting here pretty late tonight--I apologize.
A rather tardy HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Norma! Hope your day was fantastic!
Happy to hear that Lynn has made it to OBX safely. Glad you've been able to catch up on the blog somewhat.
Margy, I'm SOOOOO glad that Anne is showing some improvement! The prayers and (((HUGS))) continue! Hope you get a good night's sleep tonight. Bet you're exhausted! BTW, so happy that Rocket the injured cat is doing well! Wish I could use the guy who injured him as a target!
Mema Jo, cracking up at the thought of a stink bug in church! Good idea, though. Give him his last rites and throw him into the holy water. Works for me!
Shirley and Lynne, sounds like your pooches are making life pretty crazy for you! Never a dull moment! Shirley, have you been able to make any progress toward having a locking mailbox?
Judie, I bet you ARE tired tonight! Sounds like you accomplished a lot with the closet today. Good job! Once you've finished up tomorrow, don't forget to have some fun "you" time!
Well, it's really late now, so think I'll disappear to TV land for just a bit, then call it a night. Judie, thanks for leaving the night light on. I'm leaving the porch light lit. Prayers continue for everyone. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are enabled. (No stink bugs allowed on the blog!) Sleep tight, everyone, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]
I have had the pleasure of meeting Darth, and he is very nice. I am sure Judie misses him while is away even as she cleans out his closet and enjoys some Judie time alone.
Darth is a good guy. I think Judie might be the wild one in that couple. But she is a good kind of wild. Don't you all agree?
Well, the sound on the television is not working this morning, and Will is not here to help fix it. Have I ever told you about the complicated system Will has attached to the television?
We have surround sound, but the sound does not come directly through the television, and that is about all I know. The volume button on the television is not what you use to control the volume. It is a button on a DVD player that doesn't work as a DVD player anymore. And it doesn't have a remote because Will got it at Blockbuster at a very good price because the remote was missing.
It is quite possible that the dogs knocked a wire loose somewhere overnight. Who knows? I have a television in my bedroom and may have to resort to that. It is much less complicated.
Does anyone know why young, single men tromp around the house in the middle of the night? I remember laughing at my younger brother when he came clomping in the door at 2:00 AM. He was old enough to come home whenever he wanted, but hadn't learned how to walk quietly.
Same thing with Will. He left last night saying he probably would not be back. However, at sometime in the night after I'd gone to bed, he returned. At least you know it isn't a burglar clomping around slamming doors.
I finally called to him and he said he had to pick up "some things." I wondered if he had decided to take the king-sized waterbed without emptying it and had brought an army to help him carry it out.
Maybe Darth rescued his missing items and brought them into my basement. For all I know, Judie's laundry machine, the Christmas garland, and Wanda's refrigerator were all hauled into may basement last night.
Good morning, Shirley and to others who will arrive soon.
My body is NOT happy this morning. Many aches and pains. Think I will enjoy a hot shower, go off in search of some food for when Darth returns on Mon., and then tackle the remainder of the "stuff" I need to sort and put into boxes.
The new cleaning crew arrives tomorrow afternoon. I am anxious to see how that turns out.
Shirley, I can empathize about the t.v. Frustrating. The engineer has "improved" many things around here.
Okay, shower is calling my aching bones. Will return later. Hope everyone has a nice morning. Nice sunshine here.
Oh, I would love to have a cleaning crew, but they might have a problem finding the places to clean.
I keep saying that we need more stuff around here and Kathryn keeps saying it is going to get better. We are already talking about finishing the basement. That might end up being the best solution.
The builder put in two-by-fours when he built the house. Wall board, doors, some floor tiles, paint, etc., would need to be added. I had them rough-in plumbing so I could add a bathroom if I wanted to.
Good morning! Not sure how cold it got last night, but when we woke at 8:20 it was 33. Brrrr!
Jack is cooking breakfast..bacon,eggs, and blueberry pancakes with maple syrup. This meal will keep us just fine until we eat lobster rolls later on today. Yum!
Shirley, I do think you need to finish that basement. With the population explosion around there, you need room to spread out!
Judie, sure hope that hot shower eased your aches and pains. Oh, I do love a good hot shower!!
Good Sunday AM from Frisco, NC! It shows as Buxton on the little whirling globe....close enough! Breakfast is done...kitchen cleaned up. Heading out to do some drive-bys of the properties we will be looking at Tues. Later, gators!
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... It is a beautiful 59° here, going up to a very warm 82°.
Shirley, I do apologise for my wayward refrigerator cluttering up your basement. Would you please check it out for some missing items? Capt. Gene forgot to take the items off of the door...soy sauce, worchestershire sauce, marinades, bacon bits, horseradish sauce, etc, etc.! If you find them, please bring them to Open House with you! POOR DARTH:)
I wonder how it was for Lynn to wake up this beautiful morning in the OBX...hope her week there is fabulous!
Oh, how nice to have a week at the Outer Banks, Lynn.
I heard meows from upstairs and went up to see George at the door to Kathryn's room where Lucky is hiding. I guess they were talking through the door. No hissing. A good sign, I hope.
You know, I am most happy that there is an extra room for Kathryn. She and I tried sharing a room a number of years ago.
She likes white noise, which she accomplishes with a fan, and a light, which she accomplishes by leaving the muted TV on. I like complete silence and complete darkness. The fan annoys me and the shifting light from the television when I am trying to sleep makes me crazy.
I have seen the shifting light from the TV shining under the door, and I have to turn off the fan when I go in to visit Lucky from time to time.
Shower over and have made myself somewhat presentable for the public.
Shirley, that's just the problem -- cannot get to what needs to be cleaned. I could move to the basement but that's filled up also. Maybe finishing yours would be a good idea for your living arrangements and for resale, if that time comes.
George is sleeping on the sofa back. Maybe I will take Lucky into my room for some Grandma time while I shower, etc. It would be ideal if we could get these two kitties to get along. I know Susan puts her critters into one another's spaces alone. The next step would be to put George into Kathryn's room.
I have thought about the resale issue, Judie. I don't know if I could recoup the investment. This house is already bigger than many in the neighborhood.
But sometimes it is worthwhile just for the sake of sanity.
Good Morning - Was sadden when I opened my email this beautiful Sunday morning from June who was Karen Kinsaul friend........ Hi Jo, Just a note to let you know Karen passed away Thursday. she went very peacefully and we were all by her side. I thank all of you momsters for the prayers and love and cards that you sent. Karen really appreciated it and it meant so much to her. She's in a beautifully place now, without pain!!! The Hospice nurses were so good to her and kept her very comfortable. Thanks again from the bottom of my heart. June
Enjoy your journey into the world, Judie. I need to venture forth myself.
I do have essays to grade. I may just have to leave some of that to do tomorrow. I will have my students very occupied with individual work. I can read essays Block 2 and perhaps Block 3. It would be impossible Block 4. They must be watched closely.
One kid commented to me that most of his Block 4 classmates will end up in prison, and he will be watching them as he plans to be a prison guard to pay his way through college. What a thought. I hope he is wrong about his classmates.
Have had our breakfast and it is turning into a beautiful day. We will be heading out shortly, but going slowly this morning. It is nice! Not sure what we are doing today, probably more sight seeing and a few short hikes.
Well I started off my morning by brining up the eagle cam. No eagles for me to see. Did NOT look at any dates.
Next (of course after letting Little Man out and in). Yes thank you he LOVES his heating pad from PetSmart. Washable cover. Well as I was saying, I started making phone calls to the orthortic guy hoping to get up there today because tomorrow is the Othro drs appt.
I was getting discouraged because they was NOT calling me back. I thought hum just like Friday no call back. So I called the Ortho. drs office. Said CLOSED...I thought dang this is Monday Columbus Day.
Later as I decided to read the blog. I fine out today is SUNDAY!!! Probably still won't get the orthotic guy on Monday. They probably have off
There are many prayers going to OUR FATHER for people and animals....isn't it just something that HE CAN HANDLE "ALL OF IT FOR US"...
Beautiful Sunday Morning to Everyone. I was so pooped after coming home yesterday from "Kid's Day in the Kountry" at Park, konked in chair after dinner & now I'm up!!!! My job was to be photographer of the events, so that was cool, except I roamed around all day & boy did my feet burn!!Think we had more people this year and I got some food from my 2 historic lady buddies who cook meals on the hearth in the log cabin. Talk about camping! They did roast beef w/gravy, 2 roasted chickens, rice, greens, and peach cobbler!!!All in cast iron pots in the fireplace!
Jo, I love your Holy stinkbug story! We saw a lot at Park. So sorry to hear of passing of Karen. We have to leave it in God's hands.Blessings to her family. Late HAPPY BIRTHDAY to NORMA, our bright sunshine in the AM lady!!☺ ♥
Margy those Hugs and prayers will continue for you and Anne and big family. Thank you Lord for each step of improvement. Continue to keep Anne, Margy and family including drs and nurses caring for Anne in your Mighty care.
Sounds like Hedgie-Lynn made it to OBX. Another Thank you God for safe journey.
Wow!!! Judie please don't bring Darth naked. We would rather you please let the man have some clothes LOL LOL
A stinkbug in church. See you all are looking at it a different way than me. I think he rode in on Mema Jo just to get closer to God "TO BRING MORE ATTACKS ON US"!!!!!!!!!
I have two Mockingbirds that each morning since we moved here. Are extremely playful characters. They will try the hummmingbird feeder. They play around on my ramp railing. I just love watching them carry on.
So we have Shirley was it with a poop rolling dog.
Trying to find the thread were Mema Jo's son see eagles???? I will continue to till I find it. I DID!!!
Little Man LOVES LOVES his heat pad. Just wish he knew how to get under a blanket. When he comes out from under he can't get back under. Still gets the heat but not as cozy for him. I woke 3AM he was on top. I lifted the blanket and poof under he went LOL
Prayers for Hedgie-Lynn's Cinnamon being with the vet. Maybe they can find out how better to help her more. I know Hedgie-Lynn does miss her.
Sorry to hear of the 20 yr old Meghan being diagnosed with bone cancer. Yes Mema Jo those prayers already heading out for Ann, Sara and Paul. Lord another person we place in your MIGHTY HANDS. So thankful your HANDS outreach this whole world. Plus I feel once I mention them to you. If along the way I forget someone you still have them on your "SPECIAL PRAYER LIST".
Seen pictures of Jayden and Lolly and Jack's hiking and travels.
Jayden is really growing love those eyes.
Lolly and Jack seem to really be enjoying themselves.
Just read about the email of Karen. I haven't been in my email yet. Had sent and email to June the other day. Sorry dear June.
Karen I know is a great lose for her friend June. As June and all the family know Karen is now without pain and they know she is in a much BETTER PLACE.
Hedgie-Lynn don't worry about taking "stinkbugs to OBX". As many people that has been there from this area. They are probably already there. Just hiding!!!!!
Thanks to Jo for bringing the sad news to us about Karen's death...not easy to read these things, but when shared with us by a friend...keeps us all close
Karen's illness is over, prayers for those near and far who are mourning her loss (( hugs )) all around
Am not sure exactly where Jo's son was when he saw the Eagle Pair... somewhere between Tomahawk on Back Creek Valley Rd, and, Park's Gap on Dry Run Rd I figure....so maybe near the old metal bridge where Cannon Hill Rd meets Dry Run Rd....
I have only seen the ONE eagle ONE time at Swinging Bridge, but then again, I don't get out there every day either.... Good Luck ! It's a beautiful countryside either way.
not to worry Dana about the panhandler....there's a crook on every corner...
I'm afraid I can't sit, have some low back pain. need to try to get out and walk for a little bit done all the stretching things I can here inside
Best wishes for a good day
Oh I forgot, Wanda and other inquisitive minds There is ONE set of twins amidst all those grandchildren of my sister's, and NO twins with the original 15. Whew!
Yay, I found another program to create my puzzle. Of course, it gets a bit frustrating when kids solve it in a fraction of the time it takes me to create it, but I guess I can tell myself that it's just because they are so well-informed by my teaching.
Just talked to Kathryn. She's relaxing by the water. She says there's an osprey nest nearby and she hears that when the osprey's there it makes a lot of noise.
Will came by and I got him to fix the sound on the TV. Something was turned off. I expect the dogs bumped against the button. I will have to get him to show me what button to press.
Jim, yes I did....I should have taken a few pics of different views...at first it looked like a white cormorant....(not even sure there IS such a thing)
I will send you by email what I got, might take a few mins by the way my email is changed to a frontier thing....so I will put something in the subject line you will know it is from me ☺
OK..what a day here, perfectly clear, warm, cloudless, and still....
Breaking news: the escapee from WV from several weeks ago, (Sept 15) was shot and killed near Danbuty CT by police
police there responded to a call regarding a stolen vehicle, found vehicle, suspect fled on foot, some confrontation later on resulted in suspect allegedly pointing gun at officer, (and possibly firing upon police earlier....) officer then shot and killed suspect
more details will be out on that later, no doubt.... do not believe anyone else was injured
Hi, y'all! I have a wren outside singing, ♫♪♫ Judie, Judie, Judie ♫♪♫...You've heard it too, haven't you Margy? Gene saw a Grossbeak a while ago. I missed it...was picking beans:(
Glad the escapee won't be a danger to anyone anymore. Can you imagine how that (or any) officer must have felt when he had to shoot the man? I know that is what they are trained to do when confronted with a gun, but it still has to be on your mind for a long time. I even feel bad when I have to shoot a groundhog...it's either him or me (my veggies).
It is a beautiful bird, Margy. All I know is that it looks like an egret. We saw lots of them in among some lillypads a couple of weeks ago when we were coming back from our cruise.

Where is everyone? Did you all go to the beach with Lynn? LOL, we wish!
Shop was slow today, I guess everyone was enjoying this beautiful weather, maybe doing fall clean-up in their yards or planting Spring blooming bulbs.
Thanks Steve, have a good weekend!
I sure was out doing yard work, the sitting down kind...weeding.
My SBBC today so far is 150. UGH. They were really bad outside, I kept getting divebombed. GROSS.
Lynnellen! Hope your drive was uneventful!
Brought over from old thread....
Evening, all.
Happy Birthday to our dearest Norma!

LOL, Jo
Howdy Wanda and Lynne
Glad to see Lynn made it to the beach! Yeah! Momster party at the beach!!
Hi everyone.
Shirley, I do hope your life settles down very, very soon. What a change in lifestyle. Surely would not want a dog that had rolled in poop.
Lynn, congratulations on making a safe trip to the OXB.

wanted to stomp on him but couldn't..
Jo, did you ask Him to rid the world of stink bugs?
Stink Bugs on costumes! EEEEEEEKKK!
Happens everyday!:(
Anyone heard from Margy today? Any news of Anne?
Okay, I really am leaving now.
I could have thrown that stink bug into the holy water or at least had him receive his Last Rights! I have
thrown so many the past 2 days into the sudsy water.
Margy was on early morning before going to work. Haven't heard yet from her on here.
UMMM, steak, baked potato with broccoli and cheese sauce. Oh, Yah!
Oh, and FRESH mushrooms!
Shirley, that's just terrible about the dog rolling in poop. I know that experience!

Hi,
I did get a nap in my recliner.
No way.
Stink bugs at Mass. Oh dear.
Judie, glad you were able to get so much done today. Hope you are also relaxing and enjoying your "me" time!
Betcha Judie cleaned out Darth's closet and threw away ALL of his clothes so he won't accompany her to OPEN HOUSE;)
Geesh Shirley, what was someone doing hunting near your yard? That would have scared me to death!
Basset hound with poopy ears is no fun. Yuck.
15 more in the SBBC. Heading upstairs for a final sweep....
I hear you! Neither is a cocker spaniel with HAIRY floppy ears! I just don't understand why dogs DO that!!
Yep, Lynne, I called the sheriff's office, but they said that they could do nothing about it. I really think that is not true.
I am not 100% sure he was on my property, but I think he probably was. And I live in a subdivision. There was a little stand of trees and then an open field. It is now all houses.
Luna looked gloriously happy rolling in that poop.
She stood very still and let me wash her, though. Kathryn had just paid a lot of money to have the dogs groomed last weekend. She would have been thrilled. I thought about taking her to Bark and Bubble, but I did not want her in my car.
Will is off to Walmart to buy a bed so he can sleep in his new apartment.
I said, "You are going to buy a mattress at Walmart?"
He said, "Yes, an air mattress."
Okay. If that's what he wants.
He has been sleeping on a king-sized water bed. He is planning to sell that.
Yes indeedy Shirley that is one smelly smell for sure...
In a word: WOOF
Hello Evening Eagle Pals...
oh dear stinkbug to church, that's quite a story, Jo - Holy Water and Last Rights....
And No Wanda! Stinkbugs on costumes, hey, that's an idea, Dressing up as a Stinkbug for Hallowe'en !
hope everyone has a good evening, I am planning on reading backwards a few days worth....
He seems excited about this new venture.
Took off with an old stool I had bought from Walmart. He did ask if I minded. Not really. They are going to have a real bachelor pad there.
Hi, Margy!
Glad to hear that Hedgie has landed at her roost for a week...
thanks Jo.
I think you can wash them yourself, but Kathryn has been letting them do it.
I got the dogs on the porch and ran some water into a flower watering can because I thought it would be less scary than the hose. Luna just stood there and let me wash her. She is a gentle soul.
Good grief, so many stink bugs.
All kinds of interesting happenings, I see! Everyone is having too much fun!
Might not use cursive though, I can seldom read my own handwriting
xo
Hi Margy, so glad for the encouraging news!
Well, Hallelujah Hedgie
and yay Lynne...a Raven...have wanted to see one and hear one in the wild for years....glad for you !
okay, going to a few prior threads now....
Wanda just read your comment about Darth not being able to come to Open House........... Does that sound like something Judie would really do????????
I have been invited by Hubby to watch an 1 1/2 hr long taped TV show and I'm
taking him up on it.
BBL
Good news, Margy. Tell us about her children. How many?
Hedgie:
Check the revolver site map..does it show you in NC ?
I am Keyser WV today, was Inwood last week, and Reston two weeks ago but been here the whole time !
Shirley:
Anne married a widower with ten children in 1970 - oldest one was 13
they then had five more of their own...and the granchildren...well, uh, somewhere more than 70..
most of them are pretty close to the DC area
Jo has a Saturday night Movie date with Hubby ♥ ♥ have fun !
12 girls
3 boys
wow Margy, that's some story, I'll bet....15 kids!!! And over 70 grandchildren! The Holidays and Birthday must be really amazing!
I see someone on from Cape Hatteras and I'll be I know who.....
My revolver map shows Fredericksburg, but I clicked on it a few times and it showed Kayser, WV.
Sounds like fun, Lolly.
Will has taken off for the night.
Wow, Margy. What a family!
the sitemeter always makes me ponder who is here but not talking....
Guess you'll have to do some snugglin' tonight Lolly!
That is some family, can not even imagine.
Judie might bite.
But I think she is really pretty harmless.
Hey, we snuggle every night. LOL Used to a king size bed at home. This one is "cozy".
I forget where you are now Lolly...but there was a 2.0 earthquake in NH this afternoon.
As for me, I keep telling my students that I've never killed a student with homework. They did not seem comforted.
Yeah, I am confused about where Lolly and Jack might be, too. Trying to keep up.
Yikes! We are in NH! Did not feel a thing! Look at a map, we are at Twin Mt. In the White Mts. It is directly west of Mt. Washington.
that's good to know Shirley. I wonder... has Judie had her shots?
We have been here a week today! We will leave here Tuesday morning and drive to Bar Harbor, Maine. You know, BAH HABA!
here is the map Lolly, it was north of you and not terribly far!
NH Quake
Oh I saw Rocket the injured cat last night...he is doing remarkably well...
no police action on the perpetrators though :(
Yes did see the grandson Lynne...James is doing well, I got your magazines AFTER I saw him though...something to look forward to though - Thanks !!
My sister, literally, bought things like toothpaste, TP, soap by the case !
I must made it to Thursday's thread
Lolly, so your camper is rockin' is it ? ☺ ♥
Glad you got them Margy. Wow, that reminds me of the Lucille Ball Henry Fonda movie "Yours, Mine, and Ours"!
lol Margy...don't come knockin if the trailers rockin!!
OMG That is where we were today! We went north to Dixville Notch. We went through Berlin (on that map) and further north. Twin Mt. is right beside Bethlehem, on that map.
WHOA NELLIE LOLLY! It happened at 3:16pm!!!
Just saw on FB that Bev and Sharon are at the concert and Miranda Lambert is about to come on!
they get to MEET her tonight after the show!
Looked at that map again. Actually we drove north through Berlin and Milan and further north, them west to Colebrook, and then came back south.
3:16.....Well, we were there and did not feel a thing, but then we were rolling along in our car.
I am so sleepy. I might not last much longer.
Gonna have to put the shock mat back on the sofa, though. Flash climbed up there and I threw a sales catalog at him (small catalog). I just do not want dogs on my new sofa.
The shock mat deters them even without being turned on.
Glad you got some grandson time, Margy.
We have found that if we leave the recliner in the reclined position, they don't get on it. It will just dump them off if they try.
think I'll go get a shower and read for a while. Reading a book called "An Eagle Named Freedom". Really good so far. I feel asleep reading last night and now have to find where I left off.
Have a good night everyone and prayers for all!
Lynne!! I thought you were a newly wed!!!!
Shock collar? One of my friends has gotten an invisible fence for her dog. I wish that would work here.
I could control the dogs with an invisible fence, but the other problem we have is a constant parade of people cutting through the yard.
I don't think I could get shock collars for all of them.
I think the kid going through our mailbox probably is one of the ones who have gotten into the habit of cutting through the yard.
Lolly, I've been wondering why you chose that town to spend so much time there? Lots of what....?
Pictures are so pretty...did you know it was so picturesque?...but, then most of New England is picturesque!
Don't guess I could electrify the mailbox, either. The mail carrier would probably not like that very much.
Shirley, does Will have a roommate?
Hi, Margy. How is Anne doing today?
well, yes I am a newlywed.....it's just, uh, well, tonight is a better night for READING.
We love it.
The White Mts. and known for the fall foliage. Lots of tour buses!
OK, I'm leaving now for sure this time.....buh bye!
Nite Lynne....go read!
I need to download pics.
BBIALW
We were in that area in June, so we didn't get to see those beautifully colored trees. We did enjoy the beautiful flowers in flower boxes in nearly every town that we traveled through. Thought we could go Lobstering, like we go crabbing, but it just doesn't work that way:( Lobsters are not any cheaper up there than they are down here...fresher though:)
Will's roommate has West, the little Jack Russell.
Going to call it quits. I will see you tomorrow. Good night.
Nite all....sweet dreams!
Wow, what day is it ??
I have been on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday here !
Pleasant dreams.
I think someone gave Service Error 503 the Heave-Ho ! We like old' 503 as much as we like Stink Bugs !
Good Night to those on or near the pillows
Hedgie: posted earlier, Anne has improved, opening eyes to voice, making some movement upon command, and some in response to pain/discomfort
got a looong way to go
by the way, Lynn, Bravo ! on your good report....
Dana...sure hope that little heat blankie makes Little Man feel comforted and restful
Jo
Dry Run Rd out of and through part of Hedgesville, including going thru the little village of "Tomahawk" goes right over Back Creek...as Lynn mentioned, that is also the creek that is at Swinging Bridge, and I take Dry Run Rd to get there ! Yay for your son seeing those eagles
Also, way cool that you spoke with Norma today....☺
Yes Margy, he was very excited and called me right away knowing how much it meant to me. I am glad to know the location - I'll tell him about it.
Good Night Judie !
Hilarious comment about congestion in the Annandale/Fairfax area! You are so right !
Hey folks, I did a lot of night-time reading on these last few threads and there is a lot I took notes on, but, the sandperson is banging on the door here....
let me finish with this:
YES I SURELY DID FEEL THE MOMSTER AND DADSTER HUGS AND I STILL DO....
Your comfort and love and prayers has kept me safe and hopeful through these last few days and will continue through the days to come....and has surely helped my sister....
THANK YOU, WITH LOVE, AND
God Bless Us, Every One
xox ♥ Nighty Night !!
Check out Moosewatch cam.......
Pook has another visitor.....
http://moosewatch.com/
Den Update for 10/9/10
Caught up again....but too tired to comment. Sorry! Margy, so good that Anne is showing some signs of conciousness. Heading for bed. Talk to you sometime tomorrow. Love you all!
Good Night Lynn
Headed back the hallway.....
Good Night everyone
Many prayers for everyone
Hug for everyone ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Margy, I'm wondering if any of those 15 children are twins...surely there must be a set of twins somewhere in that 70+ grandchildren:)
Still praying for Anne and Margy.
Judie, glad you left some clothes for Darth...want to meet this guy:)
If you married him, he has to be one of the GOOD GUYS:)
LYNNE, if you loose your Mimosa, I have oodles of saplings here.
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Since everyone has gone to bed, I'll go to my recliner now.
Wish all a good night and God bless.
Hi, Everyone,
Getting here pretty late tonight--I apologize.
Good morning,
I have had the pleasure of meeting Darth, and he is very nice.
I am afraid to look.
Shirley, if you find Darth's things in your basement, please, please, please throw them out.
BBL
Good morning, Judie. I hope a warm bath rejuvenates your aching body.
I expect I could freecycle them, Judie, though it is Kathryn who does that.
So far, we haven't found any takers for the old computer monitors here, though, although someone did take the very old E-machine we had here.
Clothing just flies out the window. At least women's and children's clothes.
When I say "finding the places to clean," it is not that they are clean already. It is that they are buried.
I do have things to do this morning. About a week's worth of things.
Guess I should get started.
Have a blessed Sunday♥
Oh, how nice to have a week at the Outer Banks, Lynn.
I heard meows from upstairs and went up to see George at the door to Kathryn's room where Lucky is hiding. I guess they were talking through the door. No hissing. A good sign, I hope.
I can check, Wanda, but Will is partial to sauces, especially hot sauces. He might have already taken them.
Forgot, I posted Family Friday photos on Just for Fun...if you would like to see how much Jayden has grown since I last saw him, 3 weeks ago:)
Love your pictures, Wanda. He has really grown and is so cute. Captions with the pictures are priceless.
Shower over and have made myself somewhat presentable for the public.
Shirley, that's just the problem -- cannot get to what needs to be cleaned. I could move to the basement but that's filled up also. Maybe finishing yours would be a good idea for your living arrangements and for resale, if that time comes.
Lynn, enjoy your day. Weather should be great.
Hi Wanda and Lolly.
Off into the world. BBL
Hi Jo,
Just a note to let you know Karen passed away Thursday. she went very peacefully and we were all by her side. I thank all of you momsters for the prayers and love and cards that you sent. Karen really appreciated it and it meant so much to her. She's in a beautifully place now, without pain!!! The Hospice nurses were so good to her
and kept her very comfortable.
Thank you for sharing the news, Jo. I have been afraid that we would lose Karen soon. She is surely in a better place now.
Have had our breakfast and it is turning into a beautiful day. We will be heading out shortly, but going slowly this morning. It is nice! Not sure what we are doing today, probably more sight seeing and a few short hikes.
Have a great day! We will!
I am headed for street clothes as my daughter is up at the Color Fest in Thurmont and is headed here for lunch.
BBL
Good Morning in Eagle Land to ALL ( :
Such a lovely day, I am rooting on our lucky travellers, Lolly and Lynn. Have great day!
So here is my book:
Margy those Hugs and prayers will
continue for you and Anne and big
family. Thank you Lord for each
step of improvement. Continue to
keep Anne, Margy and family including drs and nurses caring for Anne in your Mighty care.
Sounds like Hedgie-Lynn made it to
OBX. Another Thank you God for safe
journey.
I just love
watching them carry on.
Still gets the heat but not
as cozy for him.
Belated Happy Birthday to
Shirley's Rus.
Okay, George is in Lucky's space and Lucky is in George's space. I hear meows.
They both are a bit jumpy.
My two book delete's.
I am hope that the stinkbugs do not come to Fredericksburg.
Need to do laundry and a million other things.
Must eventually find my way back to the store and get the security device removed from my new sweater.
Hedgie-Lynn don't worry about taking "stinkbugs to OBX". As many people that has been there from this area. They are probably already there. Just hiding!!!!!
ShirleyI don't want you to feel left out or cheated. So I will sent a box down to you. ( :
Okay, Dana. I would most likely lose it anyway in the jumble of stuff around here. Please do not send anymore cats or dogs, though.
By the way, Lucky greeted the dogs in the same way George does. "Hiss, hiss!" Flash just wants a playmate, poor thing.
Good Morning Eagle Friends
Thanks to Jo for bringing the sad news to us about Karen's death...not easy to read these things, but when shared with us by a friend...keeps us all close
Karen's illness is over, prayers for those near and far who are mourning her loss
(( hugs )) all around
good to read that Little Man enjoys his warm blankie Dana..and forgot to say, Best Wishes on the doctor change up for you...
hoping George and Lucky like the creative idea about sharing each other's spaces ☺
Judie - hope you can banish your aches and pains...sounds like you are getting a lot done this week-end
Hi there sweet Margy !!
I want to go to find the eagles near Swinging Bridge. Talking Mom into taking a ride with me later.
I knew that girl was a druggie. With Mom in the car I couldn't follow and get a license plate #'er sorry.
Wow.....that was fun
Just for Fun show with Jayden and family ☺
Loretta... how neat, you were the designated photographer ! Someone sure knew what they were doing when they gave you that assignment !
Hi Dana
Am not sure exactly where Jo's son was when he saw the Eagle Pair...
somewhere between Tomahawk on Back Creek Valley Rd, and, Park's Gap on Dry Run Rd I figure....so maybe near the old metal bridge where Cannon Hill Rd meets Dry Run Rd....
I have only seen the ONE eagle ONE time at Swinging Bridge, but then again, I don't get out there every day either....
Good Luck ! It's a beautiful countryside either way.
not to worry Dana
about the panhandler....there's a crook on every corner...
I'm afraid I can't sit, have some low back pain.
need to try to get out and walk for a little bit
done all the stretching things I can here inside
Best wishes for a good day
Oh I forgot, Wanda and other inquisitive minds
There is ONE set of twins amidst all those grandchildren of my sister's, and NO twins with the original 15.
Whew!
xoxoxoxo ttfn
Working on creating a crossword puzzle. Has proven to be more complicated than anticipated.
Yay, I found another program to create my puzzle. Of course, it gets a bit frustrating when kids solve it in a fraction of the time it takes me to create it, but I guess I can tell myself that it's just because they are so well-informed by my teaching.
wwwwwwwwwwwwwww
GOOD MORNING
FOR A SUNDAY
TO YOU ALL.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Yes you can and it's true Shirley !
Hello Movin' Jim.....
always a treat....wish you could come East for Open House.... !!!
Wow nice white something at BWO

I think so...

HELP
Did you get a shot of it, Magpie?? By the time I looked, it had shrunken to the size of a blackbird. Hahaha.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Just talked to Kathryn. She's relaxing by the water. She says there's an osprey nest nearby and she hears that when the osprey's there it makes a lot of noise.
Will came by and I got him to fix the sound on the TV. Something was turned off. I expect the dogs bumped against the button. I will have to get him to show me what button to press.
I see the Redskins are playing.
glad the sound problem is fixed,Shirley
Jim, yes I did....I should have taken a few pics of different views...at first it looked like a white cormorant....(not even sure there IS such a thing)
I will send you by email what I got, might take a few mins
by the way my email is changed to a frontier thing....so I will put something in the subject line you will know it is from me ☺
OK..what a day here, perfectly clear, warm, cloudless, and still....
BBL.
Overtime. Score is 13-13.
tHANKS, Magpie. In the meantime I took a Panda nap and did a couple of things otherwise.
I'll open AOL now and take a look.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
YAY!!! Redskins win in OT!!!
Yay, Redskins! Victory by field goal. Score is 16-13!
Dear Margy. Plz send me your white bird, too & of course your new email! Thx!!!
DUH! Just checked email. TY, Margy, you already sent it!!!
Magpie, the Egret is too small to be a Great White Egret, and it doesn't look exactly like pictures of the Cattle E. or the Snowy E.
I would guess it is the Snowy Egret myself. Beautiful bird, whichever it is.

Breaking news:
the escapee from WV from several weeks ago, (Sept 15)
was shot and killed near Danbuty CT by police
police there responded to a call regarding a stolen vehicle, found vehicle, suspect fled on foot,
some confrontation later on resulted in suspect allegedly pointing gun at officer, (and possibly firing upon police earlier....) officer then shot and killed suspect
more details will be out on that later, no doubt....
do not believe anyone else was injured
Loretta, Jim...I will email that picture to Lisa also, suspect others have already done that from earlier White Bird visit....
think I will add it to Magpie's roost in a minute also if anyone else wants to see it
White bird is on Magpie's Roost link
would have helped if I had gotten a better pic, so's that I could see the color of its feet and beak better....
Sounds like he was a very dangerous person, Margy. Too bad it had to end the way it did, but it is good he is not going to hurt anyone else.
Yes I agree Shirley....
he is still someone's son and brother...cousin, maybe uncle...
would have been better all the way around if he could have finished out his sentences and gone free someday
time to fuss around the house a little, turn the live feed up and hope for an eagle or two tonight at the Royal Sycamore Palace...
by the way, infant moon last night was soooooooooo slender and sleek, should be a better view tonight shortly after sunset
neat numbers today
10-10-10
would be fun to have a baby born at 10:10:10 on 10-10-10....
must be one in the country somewhere
I sent a txt message to Hedgie....about the escapee....she has received it...
Margy would that be Danbury CT not Danbuty CT? Danbury CT is about 117miles from Scranton PA.
It is a beautiful bird, Margy. All I know is that it looks like an egret. We saw lots of them in among some lillypads a couple of weeks ago when we were coming back from our cruise.
You all keep your peepers peeled and your hiney ready for the split !
Oh yes, that judie judie judie I love that !
I have seen exactly one rose-breasted gb in my lifetime exc when I gaze upon my WV Wildlife license plate
is that what Father Gene saw? or....
another kind? I used to see the Evenings when they migrated through but not for severl yrs now
Shirley I think Egret too but not sure if snowy, maybe reddish...wish I had gotten better pix
Yes Dana Danbury Ct sorry
nice Eagle at BWO now..
well All eagles are nice, shucks
Scrubbing the family room floor once again. Some bad things have happened on it. Yucky things.
Split.
