Good morning...just poppimg in for a second. We're on our way to Turkey Point! Not in a hurrry, air needs to warm up for the thermals anyway. Dana, not sure about walking but I'll let you know when I get back!

TERRIBLE about the goose. Hope they catch the B^^^^^d.

Have a good one!

hedgie said...

Glad that some saw our birds this morning---early birds get the birds!!

Another sad story about the arrowed cat. These criminals make me sick.
Margy--know you are working--sure hope the charges stick and are prosecuted fully.

Wanda, who imposes the 20 day limit on your sign? Not fair when you open 10/1 and run the whole month!!

hedgie said...

Lynne2-----DON"T FORGET THE CAMERA!!!

Granny Lynne---how is your Mom doing?

hedgie said...

Time to get busy on chores here. Laundry...cleaning spilled flour out of back of truck...pulling out suitcase from storage....etc., etc. Will check back on my breaks---LOL----frequently I'm sure!

Costume Lady said...

Lynne, so glad you could talk Steve into the Turkey Point trip...don't think you had to do too much talking;) Enjoy!

Lynn, 20 day limit is imposed by the state of WV for temporary signs:(

Karla has been at the beach all week with her Dubby and sent along some really cute fox photos. Also, Brandon snapped an amusing photo of a bird nest where he works.
Check them out on my Wild and Wonderful:)

Lolly, hope you have better luck at finding a moose than we did when we were up in that area. Gene wanted to see one so badly:(
Didn't even see any at Yellowstone!

Mema Jo said...

Good morning - very cool air this am and good old sunshine! Lynne and Steve should have a beautiful day.

Lolly I hope you get to 'shoot' the moose.
The goose and the cat stories are very disturbing.

Nothing planned for the day -

Lynne2 said...

NOpe, didn't take too much convincing! I HAVE THE CAMERA!!!! Been having some trouble with the batteries (rechargable) dying really fast. Taking backup batteries!

OK, Wanda, when putting up the sign....I just realized a few days ago that there are FIVE weekends this month!

OK, Steve is back with the dogs and it's time to go....see ya later!

hedgie said...

Wanda, can you seperate the days? Like take it down for Sundays, Mon., Tues., and have it up the other days to total 20?

Only moose we saw on our New England trip was along interstate in western NY!

Happy Sunny Saturday to Everyone!
Bright, but in 60's here.So glad the early birds saw our eagles!!!
I was not early riser today, so am missing "Taste of Bethesda".Fubby took old car--they have a car show at dealer's there & all the streets are blocked off so mostly restaurant vendors can have booths. It is yummy.Maybe I'll get a sample!
Got stuff to do & will probably go to work tomorrow & have Fubby help me put grommets in banners.I'm too short to put lots of weight on the machine handle. Our grommet expert was our leader lady who retired!

NatureNut said...

Wanda, great pictures!!
Hope Lynne aand Steve have a great view of hawks. Park naturalists used to go to hawk mountain and band some in the early fall.

hedgie said...

Oh my goodness....today is the 60th birthday of Charlie Brown and Peanuts! Had NO idea it was only a year younger than me!!!!

Wonder if Mits is going to Taste of Bethesda....too bad you didn't go, Loretta----that stuff tastes better fresh!!

NatureNut said...

Hi there, Lynn, Fubby is already home! The car show participants got lunch from Tastee Diner, so he didn't go to any other booths :>( Said it was chilly and boring in garage, so left early. (Ya gotta mingle!!!!)
I just got a great animal email I sent to some, but also to E_MYahoo if I didn't have your emails.Check it out!

hedgie said...

Logging in on PC to put a pic on my blog.

hedgie said...

Check out my lair for a cutie----reminds of Hope!!!

Loretta, right on---gotta mingle! Where would all of us be if we hadn't decided to mingle here??

Lolly said...

Hey all! We are at Twin Mt., NH. Our home for the next 10 days! Wahoo! And, guess what we are doing....laundry! Daily chores caught up with us.

I will have to take a picture and post it so you can see our home away from home.

We were warned not to put out trash...bears! Don't you love it!! Wanda, hope we do see a Moose or "Meese"! Last time here, no luck. Did see one in Canada when we were there.

Lolly said...

Lynn, love the picture you posted. Yep, about Hope's size!

Hi, Everyone,
Dropping in to say howdy. Have already been to Sis-in-law and Bro-in-law's for the bulldogs, out to breakfast for pumpkin pancakes and eggs & bacon, and to Trader Joe's to do some serious grocery shopping.

It has been raining off and on all morning, so is much cooler here now--72 to be exact. Taking the opportunity to get a giant pile of laundry started. It's been too stinkin' hot and humid all week to run the dryer!

Boy, do I have a rain story for you!
Talked to Sis-in-law this morning, and yesterday she was getting her "do did" at a salon on Harbor Blvd. in downtown Fullerton. It started raining like crazy, and of all things, LIGHTNING struck the center divider on Harbor Blvd., right in front of the salon!--exactly one traffic lane and the width of the sidewalk away from where she was!!! It sounded like a huge bomb exploded, and totally fried all the bushes growing in the center divider (they are barbecued!). The super-thick glass in the front of the salon shook so that everyone expected it to break, but it didn't--and the lightning stayed outside, thank GOD! The experience scared the c__p out of everyone, and definitely put the fear of the Almighty INTO them! We are thankful that nobody got hurt!

Ms Bookworm said...

Lynn,
LOVE the cub picture! Sure does remind me of Hope!

Looks like we have a new neighbor behind our house. Saw a moving truck in the driveway on Thurs. night and Friday. Haven't seen the people yet, though.

Well, gotta pay some bills online--will BBIALW. Have a fantastic Saturday! :o]

hedgie said...

Lolly, glad you have set up semi-permanent camp! Good luck on your scenery and wildlife safari! Here the leaves are almost all green because the ones that had turned yellow or brown have fallen. Don't know whether we will end up with any real color or not. Lots of bare trees thanks to the drought.

Andy, that is certainly a scary story about the lightening. ZTG no one was hurt. Did you get your pumpkin pancakes at iHOP?

Lolly said...

Lynn, I do hope you get some color. It would be nice to see color as we head south from here.

Steaks are marinating, the wine bottle is breathing, (lol) and we are getting ready to go get the clothes from the dryers.

Maybe I should leave some food outside tonight to attract a bear. lol

hedgie said...

Lolly, you might end up with a bear in bed with you!!!

Lolly said...

LOL I would just say "It's me, bear", and all would be well. LOL Guess I best go help Jack fold clothes.

Mema Jo said...

Headed out to Mass - Many prayers to be said..

think Lynn will mind because she'll be having b-day cake for Carolyn...

Judie said...

Good late afternoon, everyone.

Been out hunting for food and returned to start laundry. Think I need a nap.

Margy, so sorry about the cat. I just cannot understand and sometimes my evil persona takes over and I wish the culprit would have to suffer the same fate. Wonder how that kid would feel with three arrows in his hateful little body?

Lynne, hope you have enjoyed the day at Turkey Point and have seen many birds.

Lynn, what are you preparing for? Are you actually going b___h house hunting?

Wanda, any way around the restriction such as taking the sign down for 24 hours and then putting it back up or moving it to a different (but good) location? Oh, see Lynn had a similar idea. Two-for-two!

Speaking of fox, had one on our patio just after dark last night. No manners whatsoever. Was eating bird and squirrel food.

Have a nice dinner with Carolyn -- and save her some cake.lol

Good grief, Andy. What a scary experience for your sister-in-law. Just glad no one was injured.

Oh, Lolly. Absolutely try the "it's me bear" and then run like the devil is right behind you.

Okay, hear the washer calling and need to look at pictures. BBL

hedgie said...

Oh, yes, Judie....have you missed my ongoing conversation? Two friends (a married couple) and I are looking to buy a house at the beach! We have a long list of properties to look at...hooked up with a couple of agents....and fervently hoping that we will find just the right place on the OBX. Needless to say, nothing fancy....we are just lowly GM retirees, after all. But prices are pretty good right now, and there are lots of places on the market.
Wish us luck!
Have sent Candy an email to try to hook up for dinner one evening.

Lolly, did I tell you that I downloaded Lynn Rogers' "It's Me Bear" to my cell phone? I have it for my text message alert!

Judie said...

Yep, I know you're looking for a b____h house but didn't realize you are taking off soon to go actually look at some. I guess I thought it would be later on. My bad. I missed the going soon part.

Missed T. Selleck last night. Was it any good?

Just checked the nest. MT. The royal pair will arrive while I'm in the kitchen. Tilapia, oven-fried sweet potatoes, and one of the last tomatoes from our yard.

hedgie said...

Time to finish getting ready to head out. Talk to you all later!!!

hedgie said...

Oh, Judie, yeah---we go down next Sat. Only one week away!
You dinner sounds good---enjoy!
BBL.

Lolly said...

I like that, Judie! "It's me bear", and then run like the devil!

I would like to download it too, Lynn. Just have not tried.

Steaks were yummy, wine even better. I feel like going to bed and it is only 5:26. ☺ Jack and I have been watching football. TCU won! Go Frogs! Michael is at the TX vs OK game and Laurel and family are at the North Tex game. Football crazy!

Lolly said...

Jack and I just discussed what we are going to do tomorrow. We are going to take a loop drive. It has occasional short hikes on the loop. Will wear our hiking boots. Also, there was a place 3 years ago where we had the most delicious lobster rolls. Going to see if they are still there. Also, have a specific Christmas present we are looking for. We bought some metal signs for our trailer and my sister's RV. Need one now for my brother. Hope they are still there.

paula eagleholic said...

Evening, everyone!

Love the picture of the bear Hedgie from yesterdays journal. A very nice almost 85yr old lady FORGOT TO tell me about it. lol The bear took its treat and left. Glad they didn't try to capture it. Let it go back to Mommie.

Wanda great pic on your blog.

Lolly I would like to see a bear and a small one too. Although not in my camper if I had one.

wvgal_dana said...

Andy so glad you Sil-in-law and everyone were safe. That is what I call "to close for comfort"!!

Judie I know how some jerks can just get a person upset. With the hateful crimes they do. As you seen what I commented about the "goose" what the kids/person should have to do. I mean't it too!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES WENT ALONG WITH HEDGIE-LYNN.

Jo, how was the frosty? Think you went after church and not work, LOL.

Andy, that would have scared the c--p out of anyone!

Gotta check out pics.

Got my front yard mowed and the dogs fed. Trying to figure out what I want for dinner.

Lolly, sounds as if tomorrow will be a really nice day. Enjoy!

Just thing the stage was under water. Loved seeing Jimmy Dickens help put the "circle of wood" back in the rebuilt area. That "circle can never be broken" is RIGHT!!!

Many a singers have been through there and will continue coming.

I would love to go see The Grand Ole Opry. WOW what a memory that would be.

DANA, many years ago, on our way back home from New Orleans, we stopped in Nashville in hopes of finding and just seeing the Grand Ole Opry building. We did find it and was standing outside taking photos, when a couple approached us and asked if we would like to have their tickets to go inside.
DID WE??!! Don't know why they didn't need them, but we took all four of them (we had Denise and Karla with us) and went inside and enjoyed the show so very much. You are right, it was very memorable!

Love that story Wanda, you are so right it was mean't to be that you all got to go in. What a memory ( :

I will even admit. I have cried some joyful tears while watching this. Loved the mailboxes. Jimmy Dickens was suppose to be higher. Due to his small statue his was always lower. They are in alphabetical order. His is out of order. lol

I think Lynn asked where the sparrow got the TAGS that it put in it's nest...The tags are to tag the grapevines, as to what the names of each are. Brandon works at an Extension of Virginia Tech University on the outskirts of Winchester. They have many fruit trees and vines and they are tested for various qualities, etc.
Brandon loves this job. He is an Environmental Biologist.

Costume Lady said...

Can't remember the names of all who performed that night, Dana, but we did see Marty Robbins, Minnie Pearl and Connie Smith:)
Nashville was a wonderful, exciting town. Sure it has changed a great deal...it was probably 40 years ago that we visited there.

Loretta, loved you Hummer Ladies and Gents!
It must be an absolute act of gratitude when the hummers come to the window when they first arrive in the Spring and when they leave in the Fall! They do it every year, here and I have seen it happen at GG's. Karla says that hers do that also. Some of you all have experienced it too. Ah, Mother at her Finest:)

Costume Lady said...

I spoke with Denise and she said "PUN" is doing well, but vets want to keep him for a few more days to make sure he doesn't get infection. I'll have to find a picture of him.

Wow, got a lot of stuff done tonight.

When I was in southern MD the other day, I stopped at the grocery store down there...they have the best homemade sausage I've ever tasted. I bought 4 lbs of sausage...just finished making them into patties and put them in the freezer...got some for the kids as well...can't wait to have it with my breakfast tomorrow!

On that note, gonna hit the hay for tonight. Have a good one!

Hugs to all ♥

NatureNut said...

Hope to see some pictures tomorrow from Steve and Lynn2.

Wanda my daughter's best girl friend after she married they moved to Nashville. Just so they could be close to Grand Ole Opry.
They went a lot and loved it. She has plenty of pictures. She kept saying, "In another time she must have stood on that stage". I know the new one is nice. I would have loved to have been in the one she and you were in.

She moved by to the Winchester area. When it flooded she said, "my heart just hit the floor". It had become like home to her she said since they went a lot.
She said, "I am so so glad I have all the pictures and memories of the old Grand Ole Opry".

Well time for me to hit the hay.

Prayers for those that need them.

That's in Kanawha Co., but it was bleeding through on a channel that shows up as MOT which a lot of Jeff Co transmissions do, too, so I didn't know where it was....ept checking various news outlets online...there was finally a little blurb in paper this AM.

magpie said...

hadn't heard that yet Lynn about Sissonville, that is a shame!

Wanda, there are ponies on Hatteras and Ocracoke. On Ocracoke there is a viewing station right next to their pasture----they are corralled there and don't roam free. Grat place to take pics. Sometimes they'll come to the fence which allows for a bit of petting.

Costume Lady said...

Wow, Hi, Everyone!
Looks like I might be the caboose tonight!

We made dinner while at Sis-in-law's taking care of the bulldogs.
Really disappointed with the Spencer steaks we bought. We are going to take back part of one steak, the wrappers with labels, and the receipt, and ask for a refund. The darn things looked really good, but were tough as hockey pucks, and just FULL of gristle! Must have come from a skinny, 25-year-old range steer!! Or, maybe it was filet of buffalo butt! MTBR....

Am really happy that Pun the goose is doing well, and God Bless the vet who's treating the cat with the arrow injuries! Glad the kitty is doing well, too, and hope all his 9 lives aren't used up yet! Judie, you have MY vote, for sure, as to the perp's proper punishment!

Lolly and Jack, I'm sure glad your steak dinner was yummy! (No kidding!)

Lynn and Margy, really sorry to hear of the burned fire house! Gosh, were they out on another fire when it happened? What a shame.

Well, beginning to fade a bit, so guess it's time to retreat to TV land and chill for a while. Leaving the night light and the porch light on for others. Prayers have been said for everyone. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are enabled. Sleep well, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]

Judie said...

Good morning, everyone.

Lynn, glad you had an nice dinner with the birthday girl. Also, sad about the firehouse. What a loss both emotionally and financially for the brave firefighters.

I can only imagine the number of calls you would get Margy if a leaf burning ban were lifted in this area. Have had people rake huge piles of leaves to the street, park a car, and have leaves catch fire from the car exhaust.

Very happy about Pun and the cat. Wishing them both years of peace and good health.

Lowreeda, great pictures. Just kept looking and looking. Thank you.

Andy, so sorry about the steaks. Really is aggravating to spend money for steak and have it turn out tough and gristly. Hope you get a refund.

I do adore the Minnie Pearl nest. How cool to find that.

Okay, off to find some coffee and the newspaper.

GOOD MORNING...
It was 46° when I got up at 6:30 and has risen to a sunny, 56°. Only going up to 66°. Need to find a jacket to wear to church...too warm for a coat...bet it is freezing in the sanctuary...maybe a coat will work!

I waited on a visit from our eagles, but, none showed up. I could have missed them when I went for coffee, or maybe after I stopped watching at 7:15am.

Have a blessed Sunday!

hedgie said...

Good morning! Beatcha' Wanda----it was 40° here! Tried to light the gas stove last night, but no luck. ARGH. Lolly, you weren't too far behind us outdoors, but 5° cooler in than I was. Hope Jack already had the pilot lit so he didn't have to go outside! Wanda, wish sextons would turn up heat BEFORE service time---seems they never do!

Judie, you were the true early bird today!

hedgie said...

Looks like a very nice daytrip for you, Lolly!

hedgie said...

Sure hope everything is okay in Shirley's busy household.....we haven't heard from her in a couple of days....

Andy, that's a real shame about your steaks. BTW---son of my friend in Redlands posted a pic showing the Garden Center at one of the box stores closed for the season....he had just moved back there from this area last year and he was perplexed. Isn't it growing season year-round out there?

hedgie said...

LOL---just heard that Jackie Gleason wanted to sue ABC to stop the airing of The Flintstones because he felt it would hurt The Honeymooners. He was advised not to! Happy 50th anniversary to Fred, Wilma, Barney and Betty!

paula eagleholic said...

Guess I'll head outside, not gonna warm up quickly today, stil 55° here...

Happy & Holy Sunday to Everyone!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO Lynn's CAROLYN!!!

Thx gang, saw Wanda's pics and found OBX means Outer Banks. DUH!!
Thanks also for the 23rd Menu. I printed it out and this AM a lady called me from the Park and asked if I wanted her to work for me then, as that was my Sat. to work!!!So all is solved.

Lolly, love the map & info of your area. Enjoy!!

Gotta get it together & go to exhibit shop for awhile. BBL ☺

Had an interesting experience last night after I signed off. Opened the basement door to let the dog out nad she was off like a shot after a white blur. It was a huge cat. 11 yr. old weiner dog ran as fat as it did (didn't know she still had it in her!) and round and round the yard they went. Cat didn't seem to know to jump the fence! Duh! It finally went up the steps to the deck----from the side. Cinnamon lost it at that point---nose to the ground, she didn't look up! It went across the ledge on front of sunroom and disappeared from other deck. Worried all night that Cinnie would die from a heart attack....but not to worry, normal this morning! But she was on the scent trail as soon as she went out!

hedgie said...

Loretta, so THANKFUL that you have someone to cover for you! Whew----sure would have been a bummer if you had to work.

hedgie said...

Wanda....when you come back....please ask Karla if there are stinkbugs at the beach.

paula eagleholic said...

Pleasantly nice outside....thought I had an injured dove...it was just sitting there...went to try and catch it and it finally flew away :)

Mema Jo said...

Good sunny Sunday Morning. I am headed off to my niece's baby shower.
Everyone take care and enjoy the day.
Good things do happen without warning don't they Loretta

I bet that is Cinnamon's exercise for the month! I bet you're the one who almost had the heart attach.

paula eagleholic said...

LOL Lynn, I can picture Cinnie!

wvgal_dana said...

Hedgie as I looked at those "fire pics" you put up. Tears came streaming down my face.
Oh my how their hearts had to hit a "low".
Such a terrible thing to happen to any fire station, anywhere.

Margy it looks like a small town it has one bank.

wvgal_dana said...

Hedgie glad Cinnie is going good (:

wvgal_dana said...

Hedgie yesterday in wearing my orthotics. I noticed something wasn't just right on left foot. Took off shoe, pulled out orthotic and the wedge at the ache area. Well let just say it came unglued and looked like an airplane wing sticking out from the othhotic. Guess I will have to give them a call. I did put it back in place since it wasn't ALL THE WAY OFF. Just need to check if it is still alright.

You know when I take my shoes off. The left knee starts hurting right away. Don't even have my socks off yet.

Hope this works!

hedgie said...

Dana, that stinks...but these are just temporary's, right? Yes, definitely call them tomorrow.
Yep---once Bill got used to his, he couldn't stand to walk without them.

Yes, those pics are heartbreaking. can't imagine how low they are feeling. Thank goodness modern firehalls are metal construction and not wood.

Paula, Cinnamon's ears were straight out! It was a hoot. She's never acted nasty with cats, so it must have been the intruder factor!

Carolyn thanks you for all b-day greetings!

paula eagleholic said...

Yard is all done! Hopefully the sun and wind will help dry it out today!

paula eagleholic said...

Whoa, when did that big limb arrive on the right side of the nest?

hedgie said...

Clouds are rolling in. Supposed to have rain later. Bet we've reached max high temp....which is still too chilly!!

paula eagleholic said...

Looks like it's been there a couple of days...guess I haven't been able to see it with spidey's web...and never noticed it earlier this morning.

hedgie said...

Limb was there earlier this AM when Shar caught a capture of sun/shadow--posted on FB--forming an F for Freedom! It's a big one!

paula eagleholic said...

Wow, clouds have arrived here too!

I guess I am getting hungry watching the Redskins. Tried to check out Clarion menu but don't seem to be able to open it.

I guess I am getting absent-minded. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CAROLYN♥

Sure wish I could have seen Cinnamon chasing that cat. What a great mental image I have.

Dana, please make sure you keep the doctor informed so adjustments can be made before permanent shoe accessories are finished.

Jo, hope the baby shower was fun and that you enjoyed.

Paula, glad to have the yard finished. Almost the end of the season for that job.

Tried a pumpkin spice cookie recipe this afternoon. Not as bad as the oatmeal but I won't waste time and ingredients again. I think I'll just stick with my all-purpose all-occasion chocolate chip walnut.

Back to the Skins.

hedgie said...

DEFENSE! Eagles had to settle for a FG! 14-3.

hedgie said...

Now we had to settle! 17-3!

Stupid #74 for "holding"

While I'm here, does anyone have any ideas about where an IBM Selectric typewriter might find a new home? I don't know where to begin to try to find it a place to live out its final days other than Salvation Army?

Also, I have about 50 Gourmet Magazine issues. Any idea who might find those useful?

Hi all! We have had a fantastic day. Did some hiking but decided to put it off til tomorrow. Too many people out for a beautiful Sunday. We have all week.

SAW A MOOSE! He was in the trees, got a picture, but not a good one. Will load later.

Did not find the shop we wanted. The people retired and closed a year ago. Drat!

After long searching we finally found the restaurant we remembered. We had clam chowder, lobster rolls, and the best onion rings in the world. It was sooooo good. Going back before we leave here.

Now going to sit outside and relax. BBL

Posted a few pics on fb.

Evening everyone out there.

Can't wait to see the moosie pic!

Lolly said...

Really not a good pic, but you can tell it is a moose. He is in the trees, a bull moose! Guess all their moose crossing signs are not a conspiracy after all. lol

Doesn't look like any showers until overnight...suits me just fine! But rain for tomorrow, too...only 1/2" tonight and tomorrow.

stronghunter said...

Good evening,

I am watching the Redskins game with Rus and Hunter. Kathryn and Will are doing some cleaning upstairs.

I helped chaperone the homecoming game last night. Very interesting dancing. Mostly they jumped up and down. Really the most innocent teen dancing I have seen in a long time, but they did fog up the cafeteria windows with all of the activity.

Almost all of the girls took off their shoes, but since they were doing all of that jumping, they couldn't have managed wearing high heels for sure. It would have been bad if someone with heels had landed on a bare foot.

The tables were filled with discarded shoes.

stronghunter said...

We ordered Chinese tonight. It came in a box, and George has taken refuge there. Just the right size for him.

stronghunter said...

Still waiting for the part for my school laptop.

paula eagleholic said...

LOL Shirley, maybe he's inhaling the scent of chinese food!

stronghunter said...

Hi Paula, maybe so.

Costume Lady said...

GEORGE SAYS...BOX SMELLS GOOD!
He knows a good thing when he smells it:)

Lynn...you asked about the STINK BUGS at OBX, Karla remarked when she first got to the beach about them....

Karla Wright Adams: There are no stinkbugs at the beach!!

stronghunter said...

Hunter's team won their game 34-20 yesterday. They're still undefeated.

Costume Lady said...

"You go, Hunter"! Good eye:)

stronghunter said...

I don't think the team he was on last year won any games. This is a nice change.

I have returned from a very enjoyable baby shower with Luncheon. Gifts were
humongous..(lots) 30 or so guests.
Todays' society of 2nd marriages and the like makes for large crowds of aunts & cousins that you can't keep away from family loved ones!

I hear all the Redskins talk from those watching the game..17 - 6..

Didn't see any comments for the
RAVENS 17 PITT 14.... That was exciting. WHoo Hoo
Ravens handed Steelers 1st loss.
Baltimore scores a late touchdown to knock their hated rivals from the unbeaten ranks.

paula eagleholic said...

So Wanda, got any interesting costumes this year? I'm going to a Halloween party, gotta find something to wear!

stronghunter said...

Had a frustrating experience yesterday. I bought a very nice sweater to wear to the dance, but when I got home, I realized that the security device was still in it (yes, again). I could not wear it. There was no time to go back. Fortunately, I had another one. Just had to brush off a few cat hairs.

I do not know why the alarm didn't go off when I left. I am sure it will go off when I return. No, Judie, I did not steal it. I just hope I can find the receipt.

One of my fellow teachers suggested taking it out and banging the device with a hammer. I don't think I want to try that.

stronghunter said...

Now, I'll have the new sweater to wear to open house.

Mema Jo said...

Just out of interest, Shirley was it from the same store as the other item that Susie took back for you...?

Mema Jo said...

The Stink Bug issue - I have added dish washing liquid (just a small squirt) in a small container with about and inch of water. My lungs won't take the smell of ammonia.

Mema Jo said...

No eagle in the nest yet..well, it is a bit early.

Skins still 17 - 6 with 14:51 4th qtr

stronghunter said...

The other time it was Belks. This time, it was Macy's. It happened to me once before at Belks. That was a blouse. I took it to the Culpeper store, and, of course, set off the alarm going into the store. Someone came rushing up, but he was very helpful when I told him what had happened.

stronghunter said...

The alarm at Belks was going off every time someone walked out yesterday. Clerks were ignoring it. I can't say that I blame them. I don't think all of those people were thieves, but who knows?

paula eagleholic said...

Heard a clunk....can see spidey's web already!

stronghunter said...

Spent a little time looking at fencing today. It is expensive.

stronghunter said...

Do not buy the Redskins towels at Walmart. Fell apart on the first washing. Will be taking them back.

paula eagleholic said...

Heading out to Wally world for some stuff...bbl

stronghunter said...

Do not buy Redskins towels, Paula.

paula eagleholic said...

I found a cute Skins dress there for Gianni...

hedgie said...

Hi again. Sidetracked. Score still the same!
SIL came and got my gas stove pilot lit---had to take everything apart an d blow out the venturi tube. So now I'll have heat tonight if I need it---more for Cinnamon as she's the one who sleeps in the basement. My electric blanket keeps me warm!
Thanks, Wanda, for that good news from Karla! Whew!
Shirley....you sure are keeping busy! Glad you enjoyed last night.
For the second week in a row, saw girls dressed for homecoming....they sure better be glad I'm not their mother! TOO SHORT.....pastel colors in fall.....heavy girls poured into and spilling out of inappropriate styles. ARGH! Carolyn says I'm too old-fashioned....oh, well. Only saw one young lady wearing a long dress.
Dinner is in the oven...crab cakes and augratin potatoes, compliments of Schwan's.
