My Christie is at the airport preparing to board for MN----another week of training out there. Have the flight tracker up to watch progress once she's in the air. Miss her already!
Wow that group picture of the whole group that Wanda posted, is awesome...that waiter did an excellent job...he took about a dozen of our cameras and was snapping away !
Hi and Good Morning Grannyblt, Jo and Hedgie for now.
Thanks Steve for new thread. Missed seeing you yesterday. I think Open House this year was very successful with moving in back a week from Mtbs. festivies. Wonder if you all do a count of how many people you had.
Grannyblt-Lynne prayers still being said for your son and you and any other friends and family members.
I ate Friday night have 2 meals as leftover from that dinner.
I ate Sat, night have 2 meals a leftover from that dinner lol...
I was going to stay home and relax today. Need to go out and get my quart freezer bags to put these 4 meals in.
I am now sipping on French Vanilla International coffee decaf. artif. sweetner yummy
Little Man did no yelping as if in pain last night so the pain I came home Sat. from NCTC worked. Then I went back for the Sat. dinner at Clairon (got to learn that no "t" thingy. lol Some know what I mean.
Heard a good one on the scanner: a female called wanting ER doc arrested for attempted murder because he wouldn't give her a prescription for narcotics! Gimme a break!! What a laugh that gave me. Bet the cop laughed, too.
Well, need to write a press release to officially let the community know about Animal Advocates. Guess I better "git 'er done" before the football game starts! Go 'Skins!BBL.
Geesh, I have that sort of Day After Christmas feeling today after all the fun yesterday!
I've been pondering on the Norma thing...I don't really know her personal life situation or anything like that, but ever since she hasn't been on the blog...computer probles that haven't been fixed, and the AC problems of the summer and, her just not showing up yesterday, I 'm just kinda worried about her. I am going to send her a card tomorrow, and put a group picture in it for her.
Arrived home about an hour ago. Unpacked. Will do laundry. Be caught up before tomorrow.
Darth and I thank everyone for such a lovely weekend. We both enjoyed being with you all and seeing the nest, Batson's critters, the raptors. We also enjoyed the gorgeous WV scenery. I particularly enjoyed riding in a State police car.
For me, it was very special to see again those I met last year and to meet those I did not. Truly an amazing group of individuals.
Lolly and Jack, have a safe trip home. I know you both are going to miss "IT" but remember it has a very special home now with a loving new eagle mom.
Lynne2 Shirley, Judie, Jack and Lolly sort of got refused to drive on back to the nest site where we all were... nice handsome sensible state police officer found a way to take care of that problem !
I think you and Steve might have been on your little walk then
This blog has been great need to go lay down again. I didn't know Ope House would take so much out of me. Next year might just have to make the dinners.
Don't have your "panda hat Sissy" but I'm going to go take a "panda nap without the hat" ( :
Hi Everyone!!! Sorry I'm so late getting on here. Slept late, dwnlded pics. Been working on some that are probably not worth using. Didn't use flash at the dinner & pics have a yellow candlelight glow! Been trying to get "the yellow" out!!We've also been arranging our prizes!!Eagle deco is on front door, Shirley's beautiful bird house is on top of china cabinet, & need to find a prime spot for Glo's eagle pic! Have to read AM about Our Birds being seen in the nest! Lynn, great about your daughter traveling & you can watch!!My daughter should be on way back from Vienna today. Can't wait to tell her about all the fun we had with Panda hat she got to me at last minute!!! I'm still thinking about all the wonderful experiences of our group yesterday. What fun to see everyone & get to chat with some we haven't seen a lot. Yes, we did miss Norma. I finally met her at nest in June. Heartfelt thanks to all you locals who went the extra miles to help with our event! ☺
OMG-----message from Ceil: Mits just saw an eagle fly over the Raven's stadium!!! She almost choked Jay getting the binoculars from around his neck!!!!
Lretta, give special thanks to your girl for getting the panda hat!!! Such a cool idea you had with that one!!!! Are you going to polyurethane the birdhouse and put it out in the spring??
Oh, Lynn! What a great sighting!! Hope they come on Blog later & tell us all about it!
Altho we didn't see eagles at nest yesterday, I saw pileated woodpeckers in their favorite spot across the road from the nest. We saw one in June when there for the nest visit. What is so ironic is that we went on bird walk with Suzanne and when we got to that spot where blacktop path goes back up the hill to bldgs., Suzanne told the leader girl about seeing big woodies there in summer. I stayed chilling & watching from a rock across from nest. All of a sudden a pileated flew across toward the nest. Then I heard those jungle chirps, so walked down the road & saw one in those trees!!!So that's my nature report for Sat!!! ☺
Um, forgot earlier to say how nice it was to meet Steve Chase yesterday and to thank him for the threads and the work he is doing. I think he was quite taken with Mema Jo!
Ah yes! A recap of the unscheduled adventure: WV State Police, Officer Bush, provided limousine service for Shirley, Lolly, Jack, and me to where the Eagle Express was parked across from the nest because guard named "bad guy" would not let us follow the Eagle Express. Stoopid guard "bad guy." Can't wait to share that with the wannabe adults.
Almost caught up on laundry. Watching the 'Skins. Go Skins!
Lynn, wouldn't it be beyond exciting if Christie could visit the Bear Center? Know she's there for training but still, wishful thinking. Glad she arrived safely.
Dana, glad Little Man seems to have managed a little time alone. I also would bet you are making up for time lost with him.
Wish we could have seen our royal pair yesterday but at least we know Lily and Hope have found nice accommodations for the winter.
Two tired eagles landed back at the Outer Banks around 1:30 this afternoon. Bags are unpacked, but still have work to catch up on.
What a wonderful time we had this weekend with all you lovely people. Thanks so much to Jo, Wanda, Lynn and all the others that put this whole thing together. I was so glad that I could attend this fall and meet so many of you again. We have quite a wonderful bunch of eagle momsters and dadsters.
Judie, we think we left before you did This morning, as James said he saw your husband getting coffee this morning. :) You must have had a shorter drive or flown like an eagle!
Glad to hear the eagles were in the nest again. Maybe sometime we will catch them on here.
Again thanks to EVERYONE for bringing together a wonderful weekend.
Lynn, James and Margie talked a little bit, but not as much as the both would have liked, I guess. Makes me think that he will want to come back up there. Yes, he came home a new man now that he is an eagle dadster. :)
We need prayers for Beverly. Heading home today she was having really bad chest pain. The rescue squad had to pick her up near Troutville, VA. No word yet.
And several of the bears at the Hope and Lilly site are settling on their dens finally. Good pictures lately. Make you want to take the animals home with you and turn them into gargantuan pets.
Glad to read you and Jim are home, Candy...it was so wonderful to meet you both...yes, I wish Jim and I had more time to talk dispatch! I am sure I could have learned much from him....
Oh, no, that's awful news about Sissy. Praying that it isn't anything too serious....may just an epigastric thing from too much rich food. Keep us posted!!
OMG, I surely did not expect to come home and find the bad news about Bev. Thank GOD she is in the hospital and I pray that it is only GI trouble. Been there, done that, VERY VERY SCARY. PLEASE LORD take care of our Sissy. Prayers and more prayers and hugs and love for Bev, Tom, Mattie, Sharon, Thelma, all family. I'll be a nervous wreck waiting to hear some positive news....
We need prayers for Beverly. Heading home today she was having really bad chest pain. The rescue squad had to pick her up near Troutville, VA. No word yet.
Sunday, October 24, 2010 3:26:00 PM
then
Sharon was picking up a friend in Lynchburg. She is now heading to, we think, Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Sunday, October 24, 2010 3:28:00 PM
A bit over an hour ago Sharon posted she was at the hospital, no updates yet.
Good reports from Tbird and Lolly and Jack...the eagles must have been elsewhere around the nest, didn't see them in it...I have been in and out, but have been keeping an eye on the nest.
Prayers for Beverly. Please keep us updated, Thelma.
We got back a bit after three this afternoon. We got frustrated with the Mapquest directions and stopped at a Walmart somewhere near Charles Town and bought a GPS. It brought us home with no problems. So much better. We also got a couple of maps, but did not even need to glance at them.
Hunter bought a Tombstone Cowboy costume at Wanda and Gene's shop. So much for my worry about scary costumes. He wore part of it home.
When Susan and I were aout walking around the nest, we saw two large birds flying very high in the sky. We really could not tell if it was Belle and Lib or not.
Hunter swears he looked with binoculars and that they did not have white heads, but had pink heads, so he was sure they were turkey vultures. The truth about Hunter is that sometimes he likes to play games with his grandma, so I don't know if he really saw what he says he saw.
So glad that Jack and Lolly got to see them for sure. But I am a little jealous.
Well, that's relieving news that they sent Sissy on home. Whew! We can rest a bit easier now. Thanks T-bird for keeping us in the loop!
Shirley, so glad you are home.....what time did you leave S'town?? Neat that Hunter found a costume! Bet Gene helped him pick it out!
I finished my leftovers from last night. What a lovely day this has been, weatherwise.....except for rain tomorrow, the rest of the week looks like in the 70's! Yea!
LOL, Shirley.....I grill year-round, even in the snow!!!! In fact, if they are calling for a real snowstorm, I put the grill right in front of the sunroom door so that I can get to it easily. If the power goes out, sure easier to cook on it than on woodstove top!!
We just had a bit of drama here: a very large wasp flying around in the house. Just Hunter, Kathryn and me here. So we had to resort to drastic measures.
Kathryn sucked it up with the vacuum cleaner, then we took the vacuum outdoors and took out the dust catcher and eventually dumped it. The wasp was still alive, but not able to fly.
Shirley - I bet if Hunter saw White heads and tails You would have been the first to know! Let him know that I really enjoyed having him with all of again this year. It's interesting to see how he matures and seems to enjoy being around us eaglet momsters/dadsters. I hope Will had a successful weekend with the critters.
Lynn, we checked out of the hotel and got to the costume shop a bit before 9:30, then spent some time searching for a cooler so we could bring home the leftovers and some milk we'd purchased.
We got ice at Food Lion, certain that we would find a cooler, but there were no coolers to be found in Food Lion, Rite Aid, nor Dollar General, so we bought a small storage bin at Dollar General and packed everything in there.
Then we drove up and down most of the streets in Shepherdstown at least twice without being able to find the street Mapquest wanted us to take. I suppose it was 10:30 or later by the time we got out of Shepherdstown.
I didn't mention it before, but we ended up in the same neighborhood we ended up in last year when we arrived. There is something wrong with Mapquest's Shepherdstown info.
Lynn, if it is any comfort, Susan stepped on a stinkbug as she was walking out of Food Lion in Shepherdstown this morning. It was scurrying across the floor and Susan did not even see it.
WOW! sunshine today and I had doors and windows open. I didn't close them as soon as the sun disappeared and I am now being invaded once again with Stink Bugs!
Concerned for Bev but optimistic as I suspect blood work showed no heart damage. Maybe just stress and too much rich food. Fingers crossed.
Happy Lolly and Jack saw the royal pair. What a nice conclusion to their visit.
Will try to catch up and return later. If not, I'll be back tomorrow. Have heart tests tomorrow beginning 7am. Supposed to take about 4 to 4 1/2 hours.
I'll be thinking of you Judie. Praying for all good results! So glad to have met Darth aka Frank this weekend. He seemed to fit right in with all the tomfoolery. Jack & Lolly toured the Antietam battlefield with a very good guide! Hope to hear more about it.
Evening Everyone!!! My Gosh, since I was last here, there's some scary news about Sissy. Hope she is OK. XXing fingers and toes for Judie's tests tomorrow & there will be prayers for all tonight.
Put some OH pics in the NCTC album. Got a couple for dinner album--they're not too great. Will add later. Gonna hit the leftovers again!!
Just returned home from picking up my latest Freecycle treasure...a Lane Sweetheart Chest! Still has the original Lane tag and even the store tag! A little scuffed but not much. Smells so wonderful! Back leg broken but break is clean and I have Gorilla wood glue and a clamp so I'll fix that tomorrow!
SO relieved to read the news before I left that Bev is OK an on her way home!
Shirley, glad you and family are home as well!
Hope Christie has reached her destination safely and that Loweeda's daughter is home safely as well.
Great news that Lolly and Jack saw our eagles!!! When we sat by the nest for a while before coming to dinner, we, like Shirley and Co. saw 2 very large birds in the distance. They were flying, not soaring, and headed away. Grabbed binos but UGH, my pair is BROKEN and won't focus right. By the time I grabbed the other pair, they had gone from view.
STINKBUGS, yick blah barf. We had quite a few kills here to day as well.
We had a slow morning which was very nice. Then we headed to Antietam. A tour with a Ranger started at 1:30 and lasted for a couple of hours. The Ranger was good and we both enjoyed it. He taught Jack a few things.
We got to the nest earlier than I wanted but that was okay. lol Jack took a short nap! Guard was VERY nice! We sat and waited. Bless Jack, at 6:30 I said we could go. We had left the nest and were at the first turn when I got the fb message from Wanda to stay until 6:45. I said "please" and Jack turned around. We had just parked when at 6:32 or there bouts, here came Belle and then Lib, or vice versa! lol It was beautiful, they came and circled the nest at the same time a flock of geese flew over. It was awesome. It was just dark enough that you could not see clearly, but they were dark against the sunset. We were both speechless. They circled the nest several times, once going very close, but then they flew into the trees back and to the left. We both sat there sort of stunned. Did not have time to get my camera out but took a pic with my phone. You can see a dot in one picture. I will put it on fb. I am one happy camper! lol
Wanda, thank you for saying at just the right time to stay until 6:45. How awesome was it that I got your message when I did. Love you!!!!!
Awesome, Lolly! Thanks for your wonderful description...bet they went back into those trees to roost where we saw them go a couple of years ago when it was you, Jack, Deb and I.
I guess we should have tried the Sheetz, Jo. There were some very small coolers at the Food Lion, and I thought about putting everything into baggies and using that, but we might have needed two, and they were about $9.00 each. They were the kind that holds a 6-pack.
After the nest experience we went to Food Lion, got some groceries, then got gas and came "home". We were hungry. Good ol cheese bacon burger tonight!
Forgot to mention that before Antietam we stopped at O'Hurley's general store in Shepardstown, What a fasinating store!
Lynn, the road we have been taking to Shepardstown is 230, also called Shepardstown Pike. Love the drive, especially the small cemetery where someone has decorated a grave with lots of "stuff" including solar lights. Hmmmmmmmm??????
Paula, sitting there tonight I thought frequently of our night a few years ago. I will never forget that very special evening.
Judie, will be thinking of you and keeping you in prayer tomorrow. How very special we got to share a ride in a state troopers car. LOL That is absolutely priceless!!
We noticed the general store, too, Lolly, but we did not have time to investigate it. I think we need to spend about a week there instead of a weekend.
Just talked with my sub. The Block 4 class required a visit from an administrator and the security officer at different times during the class.
Some students were escorted away, but my sub/friend said she would weather the storms again if I found that I just could not go back tomorrow. She is a trooper.
I told her that she really earned her pay, and she agreed.
Great reports on here since I read the posts last.
Lolly I will send you pictures, of the State Police ride, real copies of them, to your roost when you get back. They are on the E-M album too.... and maybe some others took pictures also... and I can send copies to Shirley and Judie also.
Lolly and Shirley......O'Hurley's....the proprietor, Jay O'Hurley, is an excellent Hammered Dulcimer player----he taught my friend (that Carolyn and I went to hear perform at Yankauer Nature Preserve) to play.....and he was there listening. Talk about pressure on the student!!
Shirley, those kids really need some come-uppance!
Margy, you're too kind! Really getting late---called TX & SIL said daughter is getting in to Austin around 11:15 PM. Told him to tell her Thx for shooting the panda to me!! My mind is still on yesterday, but I almost emptied the dishwasher!!LOL Got a couple more NCTC toys to play with---got the nest DVD. Pleasant Feather Dreams to all ;>) & Prayers for Bev, Judie's tests, Margy's sister Anne, Jim's cousin Cindy, Granny's son & all else in need! ☺ ♥
I am back! That is very interesting about Jan O'Hurley, Lynn. I bought a salt and pepper shaker but what I really wanted was Milo, his cat. Milo was sleeping there on a chair. Fell in love with Milo. He told me Milo was priced by the ounce. Yikes! Could not afford him, he's a big cat. lol
Going to head to bed. I am tired. Going slow in the morning. Heading to Stanardsville and it is not that far. Friend, Chee, will not be home till after 4, so we have plenty of time. Plan to stay there 2 nights, but Chee and Rodney are trying to talk us into staying 3 nights. We shall see!
Email from next door neighbor told us we had received 2 1/2 inches of rain. Wahoooooo!
Going to dream of eagles and geese. Did anyone hear the geese? It was about 7:30.
P.S. Can't stand it~~~don't know what some know already about the new cam, but Steve C. told us yesterday that all the parts are pretty much put together, it's laying on the ground. He'll be real happy to put in tree before last year's in Dec!!!He said that was tough & they had to have official eagle expert on watch at that time.I told him I thought Outdoor had been pretty good & he said new one is MUCH better!!!! Stay tuned to "The Rest of the Story"!! Nighty-night ☺
Loretta, I think they climbed the tree in January last year? I'd have to check to be sure...
Sounds like you got the scoop on the cam, glad it's just about ready to go. I think he was worried our eagles weren't around enough, but we've certainly had plenty of sightings.
No, Lolly, Stanardsville isn't too far! Looked it up and as soon as I saw Massanutten on the map, I remembered where it is! I have heard that Jay's cat is HUGE!! Like others, I vegged in front of TV and now ready to turn in. Will check more pics and get mine added to albums tomorrow! Peace, love, prayers to/for all....and thanks for making the weekend so special!
Hi, Everyone, First of all, SOOOO glad to hear that Bev is all right! Praying that when she has tests, they will all have good results!
Praying for Judie for her tests tomorrow morning, too! Hope the results will be a pleasant surprise.
How fantastic that Lolly & Jack saw our eagles! What a wonderful memory!
Hubby and I were busy this afternoon watching pre-recorded TV programs. Now that we've watched them & deleted, we have enough room for more. I got more Algebra homework done, too.
It was lovely weather here today. The air smelled so fresh, and the temp. was about 69 or 70, and the sun came out. Had beautiful clouds in the sky, too.
Well, think I'll go veg in TV land for a bit. I'm turning on the night light and the porch light. Prayers have been said for everyone. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are both enabled. Hope we all sleep well tonight, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]
Our visit this morning from Shirley and family and Bev/Sissy and family was so special...had them trapped in my shop and they HAD to listen to me and talk to me. Had their undivided attention! So glad they were able to find costumes and saved them a trip elsewhere! I was like Lynne 2 today, like after Christmas...excitement is all gone! A void is in my heart:(
Hi, Megan! A good Monday morning to you! I guess I missed seeing our eagle because I can't get the live cam right now. Computer's currently installing a bunch of updates, but when I try to open the live cam it says I need to upgrade my Flash Player. Can't do both at once, so guess I gotta wait a bit.
Well, guess I don't need to upgrade my Flash player after all--once my laptop restarted itself, the cam will come on. Phew, glad that's resolved itself!
How have you been, Megan? (Besides being busier than a 1-armed paper hanger, that is!)
Glad you saw one of our eagles this morning! Am beginning to get excited at the prospect of having an HD camera! (Hope it doesn't mean we'll get a really sharp, up close and personal view of Boris, though!)
Good Morning all! DANG I missed the eagle this morning! For whatever reason, neither of us slept very well last night and had a hard time getting up this morning. So I just missed.
I was a bit concerned to hear that Steve was a little worried about the lack of nest activity. I have been too. I looked in the album from this time period last year and almost every day there are pics form both morning and evening. But clearly they are with us! I'm sticking with my theory that they are not full blown nestorating yet because winter is going to be milder this year and they aren't worried!!
Oh and Andy BTW, thanks SO MUCH for pointing out the potential for Boris HD!!! LOL! Hopefully when they switch the cams, BOris will be evicted and NOT return!
Good Monday morning in Eagle Land ALL Eagle Momters/Dadsters.
I haven't been able to get to all the facebook pages to see picturs.
Rough day Sunday. Went out put when I came back leg giving me a lot of trouble.
Praying for all those if any are still traveling.
Prayers for ALL needs and praises for those answsered.
This morning leaving soon to try to drive to Winchester. To get the 2nd half of pool exercise I used to do up there.
While I up there lunch with a old pool friend.
I am praying Little Man can cope with me being gone. He is having more trouble. I'll know when it is time for vet exam which may be getting close. I know he is in God's hands own created him.
Good morning! Doing the do this morning and a wee bit of laundry and then we head out. May not be on the blog much for the next couple days as we are staying with Rodney and Chee and probably will not take the computer. So do not sound the grey alert!
You will be happy (or disgusted) to know that I spilled a wee bit of coffee, reached for a napkin and EEEEEEKK! It had a stink bug!
Glad an eagle was in the nest this morning and Megan witnessed it! You all should have seen them circling last night. I wondered if the geese flying over at the same time kept them from landing in the tree. Hmmmm???? And, no one heard the geese? They were loud!
Google "Chee Ricketts". This is the friend we are visiting. Years and years ago, about 40, she did a water color of one of our slides of our most favorite place in Colorado. It hangs over our fireplace.
Good morning friends! I am fine, just wanted to check in with ya'll! Working (or trying to after such an exciting weekend!) I will be lurking around today! Ya'll holler if anything exciting happens!!
LOLLY, we did hear the geese (I guess they were the same ones). When you hear the geese at the nest, a short while later they fly over our house...always a lot of geese here, thus the name, "GOSLING MARSH RD."!
Lolly, hope that you and Jack realize that you will be importing stink bugs in Texas! Oh-oh! Hope Dept. of Ag doesn't come after you! I remember in the early days of gypsy moth infestation that RV's were inspected at state lines, and firewood sales were banned across them!!!
Looked at all of the pics in the E-M albums from the weekend festivities! Wonderful smiling faces!! And some cool nature, too---Loretta's pileated was cool! Wish I could get zeroed in on one like that here! But they are usually too far out---don't seem to hang around the trees close to the house.
Have fun at lunch Dana, hope pool exercise goes well and that Little Man will be fine today.
Oh Lolly, STINGBUG! NOW your visit is complete!
Have a situation on my sunporch. While posting last post, heard commotion. Wren got in somehow. Brother was chasing. Couldn't get him or the wren to fly out the door. He grabbed it,, then I grabbed him. Was able to release wren. Booted Brother outside. Wren very stunned but hopping and flying just enough that I couldn't catch it. Left door closed so cat won't get back in, hoping wren is calming down and can be flying on it's way very soon. I was a mess.
I just posted a whole bunch of pictures in the Dinner Album! Just the dinner ones though...will get to the others soon.

Thanks for the thread Steve
Grannyblt, it is good to see you as #1 this morning.
I need to go back to morning thread and
see what I missed.
Hi grannyblt Lynne! Thanks for call-over.
How is everyone doing this morning? Recovering from a busy Sat., I'm sure....just make today a lazy day!
My Christie is at the airport preparing to board for MN----another week of training out there.
Have the flight tracker up to watch progress once she's in the air. Miss her already!
Good Morning Eagle Pals

Wow that group picture of the whole group that Wanda posted, is awesome...that waiter did an excellent job...he took about a dozen of our cameras and was snapping away !
Hope Christie's trip goes well Lynn, sure she has some cold weather clothes packed !
Need to go out and get my
quart freezer bags to put these 4 meals in.
I am now sipping on French Vanilla International coffee decaf. artif. sweetner yummy
Little Man did no yelping as if in pain last night so the pain I came home Sat. from NCTC worked. Then I went back for the Sat. dinner at Clairon (got to learn that no "t" thingy. lol Some know what I mean.
on the Finland Water cam...slightly different page opens up, (and it takes a few seconds for it to open, wait for it )
but on the left there is a link that says
Nettiekamerat
click on that and the nest opens
It's already getting dark there now, seven hours ahead of us...
ISS comes around in the evenings this week, on the 26th says will be very bright
glad to read that Little Man got through the evening well, Dana..
I can't quit looking at the Group Picture from the dinner!
Okay got to get started on the day's agenda...
Take care everyone....enjoy the day
xoxo
glad to read Paula's comment about the birds being in the nest last night and this morning....
no link Jo I am so glad you are asking eveyone to put pictures in the two albums set up. Some people can NOT get to facebook.
Heard a good one on the scanner: a female called wanting ER doc arrested for attempted murder because he wouldn't give her a prescription for narcotics! Gimme a break!! What a laugh that gave me. Bet the cop laughed, too.
LOL, Margy...she sure does. She took "warmer" clothes last time and just about froze to death. This trip it's true winter gear!
Margy, even tho' it's getting dark at Fin Ferry, it almost looks like a snow sky, doesn't it?
Well, need to write a press release to officially let the community know about Animal Advocates. Guess I better "git 'er done" before the football game starts! Go 'Skins!BBL.
and now it is already too dark for me to see, Lynn!
sounds like a little TMI on the scanner traffic
Hi all! Hope Christie has a safe trip Lynn!
Good morning, everyone.
Glo, thank you for the blessing you wrote.
Okay, off to some chores. BBL
Judie:
I got a pic of your Police Taxi Ride......it is in the E-M Album, but I can get a copy to you also.
Enjoy your day, glad you folks enjoyed yourselves, as WE enjoyed YOU..
xo
oh yeah, I saw those pics with the State Policeman....what was up with that?? That was before we got there!
Hear a wren at the nest
and a lot of Whine/Hum....
Chris' plane is right over the panhandle, if tracker is correct!
If there wasn't such a humming at the nest we might have heard her plane flying over, Lynn !
Lynne2
Shirley, Judie, Jack and Lolly sort of got refused to drive on back to the nest site where we all were...
nice handsome sensible state police officer found a way to take care of that problem !
I think you and Steve might have been on your little walk then
ahh, OK...sorry we missed that!
Heading out to run errands....
it was just a little honest mistake/miscommunication with the guards I think
ttfn tackling some things there in the closets !
This blog has been great need to go lay down again. I didn't know Ope House would take so much out of me. Next year might just have to make the dinners.
Don't have your "panda hat Sissy" but I'm going to go take a "panda nap without the hat" ( :
I sure missed Norma this year!!! :(

She's over Lake Erie now.
Thanks for explaining the State Police car scenario, Margy. I was thinking that maybe Judie hi-jacked him to teach him some crim psych!!!
And over Lake Michigan now! Love these flight tracker things!!
Press release is completed. Christie's plane has landed.
REDSKINS lead the Bears 10-7!!!!
Did anyone post the Bear update last night? I don't recall.
Here 'tis:
Bears
Lynn, I'm starting to think it's too pretty to put out. I may find a good place for some cool pics, but bring it in~~~we'll see.
Later
Judie, we already checked. Ely is a l-o-n-g ways from Chaska (a bit west of St. Paul)! Just no time for her to make that trek!
Glad that the trooper helped you all out! Enjoyed the pics of that part of your adventure with a laugh!
Candy, you all made really good time! Judie is only about 2 hrs. away from S'town in Annandale, VA---my teen yrs. stomping grounds!
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
GOOD SUNDAY
IN THE EARLY P.M.
TO YOU ALL...

I had a lazy afternoon..
Going for a ride in Hubby's new car and find something to eat....
BBILW
Lynn, James and Margie talked a little bit, but not as much as the both would have liked, I guess. Makes me think that he will want to come back up there. Yes, he came home a new man now that he is an eagle dadster. :)
We need prayers for Beverly. Heading home today she was having really bad chest pain. The rescue squad had to pick her up near Troutville, VA. No word yet.
Sharon was picking up a friend in Lynchburg. She is now heading to, we think, Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Eagle at BWO now.
And several of the bears at the Hope and Lilly site are settling on their dens finally. Good pictures lately. Make you want to take the animals home with you and turn them into gargantuan pets.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Okay Thelma...Prayers for Sissy Bev!
Hope this is not cardiac, but muscle, or something else....

Headed out of the roost here for awhile

Thelma.....with you and the family in spirit and prayer....
(( hugs ♥ ))
Oh, no, that's awful news about Sissy. Praying that it isn't anything too serious....may just an epigastric thing from too much rich food. Keep us posted!!
Margy, forgot that you had missed Crunch and Doris last year.
Candy, I thought maybe James and Darth would be overwhelmed by all of us momsters. The other guys are used to us by now!
WhooHoo-----another REDSKIN victory!!!!
Howdy, all!
Had to get outta work, too nice outside...going to go work in the yard!
Dana...very very nice Edible Arrangement fruit basket you did for the Open House!
Yay, Skins.
Waiting for word on Sissy...
back now....
Sharon posted an hour ago on FB that they were still in the ER, no further update.
Still snipping perenials...
I didn't get the news about Bev (or anybody on that list, Lynne2). Could you fill me in on FaceBook (or here if you like)??
Thanks.

Lolly and Jack are at the nest....waiting....and waiting....
THEY SAW OUR ROYAL COUPLE!!!
LOLLY said she will tell us about it later:):)
Beverly is getting discharged home. : ) She will have to go through some tests.
Thanks, Thelma...let us know tomorrow if you hear anything, please.
Good reports from Tbird and Lolly and Jack...the eagles must have been elsewhere around the nest, didn't see them in it...I have been in and out, but have been keeping an eye on the nest.
It is so nice out! Got a lot done! Now cooking bbq chicken on the grill
Good evening,
Prayers for Beverly.
I can't tell anything on the cam, thanks to Boris. Ugh!
We saw Beverly, Tom, and Mattie at the costume shop this morning.
Paula, it is the time of year to cook on the grill whenever you can because the time is limited.
Paula, it is the time of year to cook on the grill whenever you can because the time is limited.
Glad Hunter found an interesting costume!
Yea!
Bear report is up early again!
Bears
Let him know that
I really enjoyed having him with all of again this year. It's interesting to see how he matures and seems to enjoy being around us eaglet momsters/dadsters.
I hope Will had a successful weekend with the critters.
ARGH--------stink bug on the TV screen! 3rd one I've found today. Guess that's the result of warmer days!
Mapquest is convinced that the Comfort Inn is in that neighborhood, but I do not know why they also think the Clarion is there.
We ate leftover crab cakes for supper and enjoyed them.
Happy to hear the update on Sissy, hoping that future tests show up NOTHING, though it would probably help to know what was going on
Thanks Thelma, and all others who were passing on updates
xoxo
Shirley
Sounds like a nice day today,
adventuresome, and you contributed to the local economy !! ☺
That Costume Shop is Way Cool, isn't it??
And the proprietors are also !
How wonderful that Jack and Lolly saw the Royal Couple....
Lynn, if it is any comfort, Susan stepped on a stinkbug as she was walking out of Food Lion in Shepherdstown this morning. It was scurrying across the floor and Susan did not even see it.
The proprietors are the best part of it all, Margy.
Moon is UP
They helped James out last year with a wonderful costume...
a scary one...
I am thinking it was Dracula but sorry to admit I cannot remember for sure
LOL.....but no Darth masks for Judie's Frank!!
WOW! sunshine today and I had doors and windows open. I didn't close them as soon as the sun disappeared and I am
now being invaded once again with
Stink Bugs!
Dinner over. Laundry and ironing done.
Wishing you the very best, Judie!! Long day, but sure praying that the results will be good and make it worth it!
I'll be thinking of you Judie. Praying for all good results!
So glad to have met Darth aka Frank this weekend. He seemed to fit right in with all the tomfoolery.
Jack & Lolly toured the Antietam battlefield with a very good guide!
Hope to hear more about it.
Shirley - didn't you find the Sheetz!
They probably had left over coolers from the summer... lol
Judie, hope all goes well with the tests tomorrow!
Hi all! So here is the story.
WOW!! I forgot to say something about the PAIR.. Did Lolly & Jack see them this evening or AM?
I'll read back & maybe find out!! DUH
I haven't called TX, yet, but will soon.
Thank you, Lolly for the report!! ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺
Good Luck tomorrow, Judie.
Awesome, Lolly! Thanks for your wonderful description...bet they went back into those trees to roost where we saw them go a couple of years ago when it was you, Jack, Deb and I.
Going to watch some TV and finish up a bit of laundry.
I guess we should have tried the Sheetz, Jo. There were some very small coolers at the Food Lion, and I thought about putting everything into baggies and using that, but we might have needed two, and they were about $9.00 each. They were the kind that holds a 6-pack.
I hope all goes well tomorrow, Judie. Keep us posted.
Going to watch a tv show tape with hubby... BBL
Paula, sitting there tonight I thought frequently of our night a few years ago. I will never forget that very special evening.
Judie, will be thinking of you and keeping you in prayer tomorrow. How very special we got to share a ride in a state troopers car. LOL That is absolutely priceless!!
I want a picture of it!!!!!!!
We noticed the general store, too, Lolly, but we did not have time to investigate it. I think we need to spend about a week there instead of a weekend.
That was a fun ride in the trooper's car. And what a greeting we got when we reached the nest!
Shirley, so glad Hunter got a costume at Wanda's shop. Come to think of it....Wanda, I did not see the Wanda the Witch sign.???
It is a beautiful shop. So interesting...I wanted to go exploring in there.
Ellen is a veteran teacher who is very gentle, soft-spoken and tenacious.
Oh Shirley, that dern block 4 class of yours......UGH!
Lolly, we took 230 to S'town and I saw the grave site then. But it was interesting to see it all lit up on the way home.
OMG Shirley!! What a class!
Paula...want to see the picture of you in the nest!!!
I am going to turn the computer over to Jack, but I'll be back!
She will soon be taking over long-term for a teacher who is to have a baby the end of November.
well folks, I am going to hit the shower, take the dogs out and then settle in for Brothers and Sisters.
Have a good night and prayers for all!
Good night, Lynne. Thanks for the seeds.
Lolly, they are so proud of themselves. They asked the sub why she had come back after they had been so bad for her before.
I think some of them need some severe consequences, but I am not the one who can hand them out.
Good night all. See you tomorrow. God bless.
Loretta
Love your pictures, on the E-M albums....
Wow, that pileated, what a shot !
also really like the one of Jack and Paula holding "IT"
that's classic !
It's getting late, yikes, already!
Best wishes and prayers for Judie with the tests in the morning, and for Bev...that she remains pain-free
and for all our other needs, for health and many other things
Good Night
God Bless Us, Every One
xox ♥
Saying good Night and coming to the close of a fantastic weekend.
Prayers for everyone
Hugs for everyone ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Again...sweet dreams. (((HUGS))) for all!
Whoops! Meant 6:30!
Sorry all, just pooped out this evening. Enjoyed vegging in front of the TV...pictures tomorrow night!
Calling it a day...hugs to all ♥
Loretta, I think they climbed the tree in January last year?
Hi, Everyone,
First of all, SOOOO glad to hear that Bev is all right!
A void is in my heart:(
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SLEEP TIGHT
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Closing down.
Paula, I told Steve about Lynne's sighting at 1:50ish AM Sat.,& he was happy. Can I camp under the tree???
I hear an eagle calling out by the nest.
Now there's an eagle in the nest.
And now it's gone.
Hi, Megan!
A good Monday morning to you! I guess I missed seeing our eagle because I can't get the live cam right now. Computer's currently installing a bunch of updates, but when I try to open the live cam it says I need to upgrade my Flash Player. Can't do both at once, so guess I gotta wait a bit.
Durn thing's working on update 22 of 28 right now...Hmmmmm....
Gotta restart my computer, then upgrade Adobe Flash Player. Hope to be back VERY shortly!
Oops! Dryer is calling me. Need to make some coffee and breakfast, too. BBIALW. :o]
I know he is in God's hands own created him.
hope to talk to you later ( :
I am leaving now. Have things to do and places to go!
Have a great day and an even better week!
Bev, are you getting to the doctor today?
GOOD MORNING...
LOLLY, ask Chee if she knows the RICKETTS in Winchester? Friends of my daughter.
59° and sunny, here in Nestville. Going up to 71°, but some rain expected...not good for costume customers:(
Good morning friends! I am fine, just wanted to check in with ya'll! Working (or trying to after such an exciting weekend!) I will be lurking around today! Ya'll holler if anything exciting happens!!
Thanks for all the well wishes last night!
I go to the doctor on Wednesday!
LOLLY, we did hear the geese (I guess they were the same ones). When you hear the geese at the nest, a short while later they fly over our house...always a lot of geese here, thus the name, "GOSLING MARSH RD."!
Feeling better this morning, Bev?
Oh, I read up a ways and see that you are feeling better...glad to hear that♥
Lolly, hope that you and Jack realize that you will be importing stink bugs in Texas! Oh-oh! Hope Dept. of Ag doesn't come after you!
I remember in the early days of gypsy moth infestation that RV's were inspected at state lines, and firewood sales were banned across them!!!
Morning all!
Good Morning Everyone! Great to hear from you, Sissy!!!You sound fine!
Lucky Megan got to see an eagle. I will try to make sure I check nest at 6:30PM!
Well, weekend over--gotta do stuff & go to grocery, etc. BBL
COME ON OVER TO THE NEW THREAD THAT STEVE HAS GIVEN US!!!!!!
