Egg definitely looked intact. So much for loon season. :( Poor mama---wonder how long before she returns, and wonder what she'll think when she doesn't see the egg?
Well, they probably do not know the egg is gone, but they knew something was disturbing their nest. Wow, I want to really hear that in person some day.
I just can't tell you all how much information I have learned from being on this blog. Astronomical! Lolly, I would love to listen to the loons at a lake in person one day! If I don't ever get to do it - I'll have these memories of their sounds. I have always loved just looking at the Loon - so beautiful.. Never thought God could create the feather patterns of the loon!
this is a sneak in... KB - Maybe it was an adult up above. I too am looking into the nest and can't make out any image of Palmer.. I will keep NCTC nest speakers on for a while longer and listen....
She's confused, talking first and then wailing for her mate. In the water now. More wailing. Okay folks, now she knows the egg is gone and she needs to tell her mate. ************************************* Her first wail made me rise up out of my chair - then I grabbed the speakers and turned them off for fear of waking up hubby and all the cats!
Hi to Anyone Still Here! Got home pretty late from school--this is my late school night.
Congratulations to Palmer! Jim, thank you for your early morning post about her! Certainly wish Palmer well, and hope she visits the nest with Belle & Lib for a while.
Jo, thanks for the Loon link! Much appreciated!
Glo, thanks for the info on NE of Norfolk. Sounds like he's doing OK!
Lolly, thanks for posting the link about the AK bear cub! Hope he will be OK.
Paula, enjoyed reading the Channel Islands info. God bless Duane for his heroic rescue! Thanks, too, Paula for "I Am Your Flag"--a real keeper!
Dana, thank you for going and checking on our Palmer! So glad you saw her!
Wanda, still praying that GG's improvement will continue--and thanking God for the good news about her!
PammySue, glad to meet you! Prayers for your niece and her friend. Glad they weren't badly hurt!
Getting pretty tired here, so leaving the night light on so nobody will run into the furniture. The porch light is on, too. The eye scanner security is enabled. Hope everyone has sweet eaglet dreams. Will talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you guys! :o]
Good morning everyone. Turning on cam and hoping to see and hear some long awaited and familiar sounds today. Have to get some car repair work done again and hopefuly it will be on the low side of the estimate. Going to stop by the shelter for a whiel and do some stats for them. Dex will be happy. Enjoy your day. Pictures of our baby if she shows for us of course :-)
Good Tuesday morning in Eagleland Lori, Shiley, BEagle, and Loretta for now.
Our nest is empty, like you said nice new leaf in nest.
Checking loon cam. Well that worked nicely Larry. No I did not watch fell asleep. Thank you all for your comments to read about the egg removal. Female must be in the water with mate as should be.
I have heard and seen loons before they have them at the Lake of the Woods. Shirley knows where that is.
Good morning, bloggers. Anybody know if Palmer has made an appearance in the nest since s/he fledged? Nest is MT, but somebody has brought new greenery...just no Palmer. Did we forget to tell him Saturday, that he had to check in once in a while after fledge? Darn. Put that on my list for next time.
I have listened to try to id that single cheep, think it could be either blue bird, or house finch, but it also resembles a single cheep I have heard from Red-Wing blackbirds...sure is a constant companion these days
Margy it was an actual bell that was ringing. It just rang again but only once. I don't think that could be a bird making that sound. Either day care or at the guards house for the mowers or people farming to eat.
Thanks for the updates, Lori and Dana. No Dana, have them here so will put them on Momsters page during the day. Thought the bell was neat, too. Very pretty. Ok, all have a good day. Later, gaters.
Good Tuesday Morning Paula. So glad Lynn2, Margy and Paula heard that belle. Otherwise you all would be hummm Dana is having heat stroke from her adventure and excitement of seeing Palmer yesterday. lol
Morning all--ENS here. Palmer, Molly, Phoebe, MN loon nest. I did find a link to a Pacific loon nest in AK on the Briloon site. I need to get back to real life here.
Good cloudy Tues. AM. Hard to find you all---we need a new thread!! Blogger cop still needs to learn how to count, too! Haven't read throughc omments since early AM---but LArry has posted more updates on loon blog. She was on the nest when I got on. Any signs of Palmer??
June 15, From Pandas International: "It’s hard to believe, but Tai Shan will be five years old on July 9th! In celebration of Tai’s birth, Pandas International is planning to send one BIG card to Bifengxia to let him know he is still in everyone’s hearts.
No Palmer, but there's a branch with fresh green leaves. How many of us stared at it, as if in some magical sort of way our staring might make those green leaves turn into Palmer...
Empty nest syndrome has set in big time!
Have to get ready for work, so I'm going to make myself picture Palmer with Lib and Belle eating fresh fish somewhere out there, and later on having lessons in how to catch them. And maybe a turtle or two.
GOOD MORNING... I am so glad I stayed up last night to watch the Loon egg being retrieved. I marveled at Larry's gentle, quiet way of doing that task. He came very quietly and picked up the egg, showed it to us, then left, quietly...all in less than a minute. I felt relief for the Loon pair and I'm sure he did too. Wonder if they have examined the egg yet...will be interesting to hear what they found.
If I were Palmer, I think I would take offense at that sprig of leaves stuck into his BED, like flowers at a cemetery! Or, maybe parents are deodorizing the nest...either way, I would take offence:) So glad Dana saw him nose dive into the tree...now we know she is acting like a normal Juvie. She probably won't come back to the nest until she can land a little better...she doesn't want to embarrass herself in front of the camera;)
Good morning, Wanda. Larry says on his blog that the egg has a rotton egg smell. Poor loons! And, the calls we heard last night were not about his visiting the nest, but warning to another pair of Loons on the lake. But what a treat to hear the Loons. Loved it!
But then again, as Suzanne mentioned at our visit, Saturday, if you had looked at Palmer beside the parents, she was actually smaller in comparison, so SHE may actually be a HE. Suz is very observant and knowledgeable, so she may be right...we will never know!
Thanks for that news on the egg, Lolly. Yes, it was special to hear that Loon Cry...I have never heard it before. I'm like the rest of you, I would love to hear it in real life someday:)
I was suprised that the baby was gone. More ready than it appeared to be I guess!! Amazing story through the winter... Good luck little fella or little girl...You and your parents are always the highlight of my day!!
Got to get this day going. Need to call the Insurance Co. and see if GG has coverage for loss of goods in a flooded basement. I surely hope so...a lot of good things were stored down there, including many items stored there by my granddaughter, Jillian. Massage equipment and hundreds of dollars worth of books, clothing, etc. Not to mention some beautiful furniture that GG moved down there when she re-decorated her house:(
Oh, Wanda! Sorry to hear about the damage in GG's basement. I knew she had water, but do not remember hearing that there was a lot of damage. That stinks!
Raining here to was just sprinkles now coming down faster but not real hard. Wouldn't you know it and I just watered by 2 plants. The others didn't need it right then.
Good Morning Eagle Buddies!!! It's my last day at school. Whooo! Whoooo!
I have to do a doing some reading back to catch up.
I am missing Palmer big time. I wish she would just come into the nest to eat something. She was a naughty girl last night. She stayed out all night. LOL
Good morning! Haven't been by in awhile. Hope everyone is doing well. Had a good day at BW on Sunday. I haven't finished processing the photos yet though. Saw a pair of eagles eating a fish on the side of the wildlife drive. It was almost too heavy to fly with. As I got close they would kind of hop/fly further away from me. Here's a sample:
I'm kinda anxious too, although I also remember they often can't fly well enough to return to the nest and land properly until a day or two have passed.
Thanks to Dana we have live reports of Palmer sightings.
Thank you all so much for the concern for my Mother's fall. I called her, she has only one small bruise. She slept in this morning. Now getting breakfast and going out to work on straighting up her back porch. She said, "An 84 yr. old lady can't just sit around and stiffen up". THAT'S ME MOM FOR YA (:
Good Afternoon... I've been visiting with daughters and showing them all the videos and pics from Saturday. I am still reading our blog to catch up to you all... Everything seems okay and so glad to all of you here. That Loon experience was something else!
Came home with a belly rumble. Musta been something I ate.
The humidity here is very high and feels very hot even though it is only 84 degrees here. I have heard that many are catching bronchitis due to this weather.
Shirley, thanks for pointing out the greenery on the nest this morning. It's been a while since LIB sprigged the nest.
Must be significant to celebrating the 1st flight of Palmer.
Hi everybody. Posted pics from Saturday nest visit to Momsters album. Got some dups of Loretta's, and hers are better...they're closer. But they're there now.
Hey Magpie. She found some too! I've got 5 milkweed plants, but they're still babies with small leaves. Not enough to sustain an egg yet. NCTCs are about 3 feet taller than mine! Gonna have to go out and speak magic words to help them grow!
I watch the TH twins a lot. Since they hatched about a week after Palmer, they may be next to feldge. The eldest goes off the site to the left.
The other day he/she was out of sight for quite a while. It is believed that the eaglet fell down some of the rocks. Thank goodness it's not steep. When the eagle returned it appeared to have a sore left wing and leg.
It didn't take long to recover and was flapping away again in no time.

Whoops! We split!
There she went
Boy, that was fast!
She's a pretty bird even at night
Grab it !!
splish splash and he's got it
Whoo Hoo It is a done deal Perfect
Now the loons are Free Birds.
Interesting! Apparently no sign of a pip.
I did see a dark spot on it, guess not a pip tho
Egg definitely looked intact. So much for loon season. :( Poor mama---wonder how long before she returns, and wonder what she'll think when she doesn't see the egg?
I guess he waded out there. He certainly was very quiet.
Interesting that she wasn't asleep...though I haven't been watching all evening.
He said in yesterday's post that he would leave the camera on for a couple of days.
LARRY IS ONE BRAVE DUDE!
I'd be afraid of that needle sharp beak!
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SLEEP WELL
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Yes, I saw the dark spot as well, but if it had been a pip he would have put it back.
Kickngbird, very nicely put. What part of IL are you in?
Lolly - send that man to bed!
Do you see the timer in the lower left
Bring your cursor over it and look below
There is the counter and the volume
control
Oh, listen to them....so plaintive.....beautiful. Wonder if they know already.
Listen to the Loons. Cool!
The tremelos are so lovely.
Do you hear the loons?
My dog is listening too
Wow, what a lovely gift they are giving us.
Oh, they know something has happened!
Yes, Jo, finally found it. Have to move the curser over it for it to pop up.
Wails, tremolos and yodels . wow. They cant yet know the egg is gone
Lots of cries...oh...never heard this before...
Those comments are from the Loon Chat room.......
Oh, now Jack is enjoying hearing the Loons!
Well, they probably do not know the egg is gone, but they knew something was disturbing their nest. Wow, I want to really hear that in person some day.
Calling it a day here. Gee, it's Tues. already. See you fine, fowl folks tomorrow. Prayers and peace.
They sound far off right now.
No,it is not Tuesday here! Still have 45 minutes to go.
I just heard some flapping
Guess I am going to go get ready for bed. I will come back and see if the Loon returned before shutting down.
Nite all!
Sweet dreams! Dream of Palmer flying high.
KB - I think it is the wind at the loons' nest. I hear it and yes it does sound like Palmer coming home but I don't have our nest sound turned on!
I am going to head back my hallway...
I had stepped away, then came back to hear some flapping - just read Hedgie's question but she may be gone now - I'm west of Chicago -
I'm staring at my screen to see if I can see anything at the nest but I can't
Closer now...
I'm not looking at the loons, I'm only at NCTC
Good night All
Prayers for All
Hugs for All
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Stay safe Palmer! Fishing school in
the morning with Lib!
I don't have our nest up, turned it off a short while ago.
KB, it's possible they are roosting in the tree tonight
this is a sneak in...
KB - Maybe it was an adult up above.
I too am looking into the nest and can't make out any image of Palmer..
I will keep NCTC nest speakers on for a while longer and listen....
I thought the loon would have returned by now.
I have our nest up now, just sounded like sneeze!
there's the loon,,,she doesn't realise the egg is gone yet!
I thought that was a sneeze, too
She can't get comfy
Aww, she's trying to incubate and roll and an egg that's not there
That brought tears to my eyes when she
went to roll the egg that wasn't there.
KB & Paula You know who the only eagle is that sneezes.... Palmer
Maybe he is up on the branch...
At least I am going to bed thinking that!
Poor loon, but tomorrow will be a better day.
signing off for tonight, see ya'll in the morning light.
Hugs to all ♥
Yup, Palmer has been the sneezer lately!
Night!
Well if I was half asleep
I am not any more
KB are you still here?
Mema Jo - You're right!
Nice thought to go to bed with.
:)
I stepped away but came back - did you hear something?
Spidey wants to steal the show! Front and center!
From the Loon chat room:
She's confused, talking first and then wailing for her mate. In the water now. More wailing. Okay folks, now she knows the egg is gone and she needs to tell her mate.
*************************************
Her first wail made me rise up out of my chair - then I grabbed the speakers and turned them off for fear of waking up hubby and all the cats!
I must go to bed!
I was going to fix a bedtime snack but hubby had something in the microwave so I came back to see if anything was going on before I said goodnight...
Good night KB and any others out there!
Oh I thought there might be something else at NCTC - I'm not loony tonight. I'm only eagle crazy.
Sweet dreams of fresh caught fish!
:)
loon back at the nest again
same as before
wonder if same parent or the other one
I think what Jo might have meant, K, is that the loons were really wailing
See that the loon is back. Jack heard the return and the wails, but did not watch. Said he just about jumped out of the chair.
She is just sitting on the nest and saw a waddle waddle to get down around the egg that is gone. Poor Loon!
Nite all!
took me awhile to post that see Jo already said so
I think I better hit the sack too, maybe get up early all over again
Good Night K and also to anyone still on here xo

The porch light is on, too. The eye scanner security is enabled.
Hope everyone has sweet eaglet dreams. Will talk to you tomorrow.
God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you guys! :o]
No Palmer in the nest at this hour, or for the previous hour as far as I could see through Spidey's mess.
Good morning!
Leafy branch delivered by an adult.
Palmer is not theref
Hi Lori,
I thought if Palmer left in the wee hours, she may return at this time too. We'll surely see her some time today though.
Need to scoot.
Later.
Leafy branch reminds me of the plant that grew in the nest last summer.
Hi Lori and BEagle.
Leafy branch is a bouquet in celebration of Palmer's fledge.
Doesn't our nest look festive?
Must go!
Sorry I missed you BEagle and Strong...but we were all thinking alike that Palmer might come back for breakfast!
I'll keep an eye out on the cam though it's not as easy to blog.
Oh beautiful little Palmer, I hope you're safe and happy, flying free and high.
Still no sight of our girl this morning.
Good AM to all. I hope Palmer visits!!!!
Put some deer, fawn, fox, & osprey pics on Blog.
Gotta get to work....BBL
Good morning everyone. Turning on cam and hoping to see and hear some long awaited and familiar sounds today. Have to get some car repair work done again and hopefuly it will be on the low side of the estimate. Going to stop by the shelter for a whiel and do some stats for them. Dex will be happy. Enjoy your day. Pictures of our baby if she shows for us of course :-)
Good Tuesday morning in Eagleland
Lori, Shiley, BEagle, and Loretta for now.
Our nest is empty, like you said nice new leaf in nest.
Checking loon cam. Well that worked nicely Larry. No I did not watch fell asleep. Thank you all for your comments to read about the egg removal. Female must be in the water with mate as should be.
I have heard and seen loons before
they have them at the Lake of the Woods. Shirley knows where that is.
Morning Glo, you and Dex enjoy your day.
I just heard something at the cam in our nest.
Now i hear even more movement around the cam. Well one is up there whether one of the parents or Palmer I don't know who.
Some one else needs to run down and take a fast look. I'm done in.
Good morning Dana, Glo, NNut -
I hope you're right Dana and that Palmer just plops down into the nest at any moment.
Hi Suzanne, I've been watching all morning since 3 and she hasn't been around. But, I hoping she'll come back for food this morning.
Good Morning Suzanne so GOOD to see you here and when I'm on too.
No presents of Palmer yet today.
Small bird flying around and lands in empty loon nest. So glad male and female are together again.
I thank all of you for thoughts about my Mom. I will call her later this AM to check on her.
Suzanne have you posted any of your pictures from Saturdays nest visit yet?
breakfast bell?
Wow is that school bell for the Day Care ? neat !
Good morning Eagle pals, watching the live feed, same as you
Morning Lynn2 I just heard that too and was about to comment lol
you mean for Palmer Lynne?
I've never heard that before...
I have listened to try to id that single cheep, think it could be either blue bird, or house finch, but it also resembles a single cheep I have heard from Red-Wing blackbirds...sure is a constant companion these days
Hope it is a good day for everyone
another DING! You're right Margy, must be the daycare bell!
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!
Margy it was an actual bell that was ringing. It just rang again but only once. I don't think that could be a bird making that sound.
Either day care or at the guards house for the mowers or people farming to eat.
but it would be nice if Palmer showed up for breakfast this morning!
Thanks for the updates, Lori and Dana.
No Dana, have them here so will put them on Momsters page during the day.
Thought the bell was neat, too. Very pretty.
Ok, all have a good day. Later, gaters.
Just heard a bump noise....someone must be in the tree above the cam!
Good Morning Margy. If I would have been up to your comment I would have seen you said Day Care Bell neat!
Only on 1st cup of coffee tee hee
Did you all just hear the movement by the cam?
I heard it too Dana, the thump clunk
Suzanne will look forwad to those pictures!
I heard that bell too! Thought I was hearing things!
little chirpy thing is house finch, pretty rosy colored finch with a rather uninspired name
male looks like a rosy sparrow
Good Tuesday Morning Paula. So glad Lynn2, Margy and Paula heard that belle. Otherwise you all would be hummm Dana is having heat stroke from her adventure and excitement of seeing Palmer yesterday. lol
I see two parents in Osprey nest in Central Maine feeding their two young chicks.
Not a link....Did Nu put a bell up there for Palmer to ring when she returned to high up in tree????? lmbo
the sound at the live feed is pretty much perfect...just needs an Eaglet in there to round things out
Morning all--ENS here. Palmer, Molly, Phoebe, MN loon nest. I did find a link to a Pacific loon nest in AK on the Briloon site. I need to get back to real life here.
Good Morning Lynn-Grannyblt so glad you stop in now and again.
Have you and your friend gone bird watching lately?
Good cloudy Tues. AM. Hard to find you all---we need a new thread!! Blogger cop still needs to learn how to count, too!

GOOD MORNING...
I am so glad I stayed up last night to watch the Loon egg being retrieved. I marveled at Larry's gentle, quiet way of doing that task. Good morning! Have both Loon cam up and NCTC and I feel like I am outdoors with all the sounds. LOL
Interesting to read Larry's Loon
blog. What a treat to hear all the loon calls last night!
Sure was hoping to see Palmer in the nest this morning. Surely he will return today.
Wish we knew for sure what sex Palmer is...I'm still referring to her as him/her!
Good morning, Wanda. Larry says on his blog that the egg has a rotton egg smell. Poor loons!
And, the calls we heard last night were not about his visiting the nest, but warning to another pair of Loons on the lake. But what a treat to hear the Loons. Loved it!

Loon has been gone, but is now back on the nest. Heard her call out again.
I was suprised that the baby was gone. More ready than it appeared to be I guess!! Amazing story through the winter... Good luck little fella or little girl...You and your parents are always the highlight of my day!!
Loon is back on the nest.
Hear mowers I guess at NCTC, but MT nest except for the new foliage.
Rain has started here.
Not to mention some beautiful furniture that GG moved down there when she re-decorated her house:(
Iwannafly...she had really been gearing up for that first flight!
Can't wait to see her return!
Oh, Wanda! Sorry to hear about the damage in GG's basement. I knew she had water, but do not remember hearing that there was a lot of damage. That stinks!
Certainly hope GG has another good day.
Good Morning Lolly and Wanda.
Thanks for infomation about Larry saying the loon egg smelt rotten.
Has the eaglet/eaglets fledged at Two Harbors?
Good Tuesday Morning in Eagle Land Iwannafly and Lynn1-Hedgie.
Oh Wanda so sad about GG's basement. Did the sumpump fail to work or just a lot of rain?
Dana - I don't know, but a lot of times they walk right out of cam view...off the left side of nest and towards the cam
Hear a TRAIN-----but not Shar's train!
Have polished off my two mugs of coffee and going to head outside. it is presently 78....a lot better that the upper 90's where it is headed.
Have a great day! BBL
Raining here to was just sprinkles now coming down faster but not real hard. Wouldn't you know it and I just watered by 2 plants. The others didn't need it right then.
Paula did you see my comment about Two Harbors?
OOOPPPPS YOU DID TY (:
Loon nest empty again.
#69 at Pelican Harbor getting some height with those wings. Now laying down resting, once was enough.
Your right Paula I now see every now and again wings stretching from off to left side of nest at Two Harbors.
Two Harbors is eating fish.
They have a fish but seem more interested in hopping and exercising those wings than eating for right now at Two Harbors.
LOL
going to do my reading. BRB!!!
Good morning! Haven't been by in awhile. Hope everyone is doing well. Had a good day at BW on Sunday. I haven't finished processing the photos yet though. No idea what the second bird is, maybe some kind of sparrow?

Thank you all so much for the concern for my Mother's fall. I called her, she has only one small bruise. She slept in this morning. Hello again.
Hi Dana.
Ha! Suzanne, I just viewed them and put a note on about it!
They are great, love the ones of Wild Wanda ♥
I was going to wait for new thread for this Black-eyed Susan pic, but they are out hereabouts and hope some of you get to see them
Always think of our Marylanders with these, the State Flower of Maryland, Black-eyed Susan
BEagle...sure hope you feel better fast...

KB! You are funny! Instead of the leaves turning into Palmer I was thinking she would come out from under them.
