Shirley, should I try to find a match for you? Give me your criteria for your "must haves" and "will not tolerates" in a man and I'll see if I can find one!
Right before I "hooked up" (as the kids say now), I was going to throw myself a "SPINSTER SHOWER". I mean, once a girls reaches a certain age and is still single...ya know? Why should all the YOUNG, getting MARRIED women have all the fun! I like nice new things too!
Then when Steve asked and I said yes, we were only 6 weeks from proposal to wedding, right over the Holiday Season and there was no time for a bridal shower :(
I finally saw one of my squirrels out back today - I really had not had any of them visit for peanuts for about 2 weeks. Thought recently could be the heat or maybe the young are in the nest. I also today saw the frolicking tail end of a fawn headed in behind the tall weeds out back.
Evening all. I am finally on a real computer :) I sure hope everyone has survived this terrible heat without incident. It hit 86 with a "feels like" of 94! Just miserable!
good grief will someone please give that baby a pacifier?????
Lolly, wasn't really expecting a shower, even after the fact. We had a very small wedding, only about 45 people, and we were SO grateful that EVERYONE could come (except Steve's sister Shari) on such short notice and especially during everyone's most financially strapped time of year, not to mention all the Holiday "goings ons". Our biggest fear was that it would be bad weather and the out of towners wouldn't be able to come....but the good Lord blessed us with a balmy 70 degree day, on Dec 28!!!! Everyone was sweating just a little in church!
BWE just posted they have shut the cam down for the season (on FB) They had tech difficulties and the birds were not in the nest much anymore so they made the call to shut 'er down.
Friends of Blackwater NWR We had a technical problem with the Eagle Cam over the weekend and decided it was a good time to take the cam offline for the season, since our eaglets are not at the nest much now. We've posted a final update to our Eagle Cam Web Log and to our Eagle Cam Gallery.
I had heard about the flight being delayed due to the turtle but I didn't know the 'rest of the story' ! All that & then the turtle got fly as Cargo! One happy little girl, I'm sure. Thanks Lynne for finding that......
if you go to my photo webpage..there is a slide show of 16 pics. If you scroll down you can look at my All pic gallery. Take a look. and let me know what you think. I think flowers are out for this gig as well as winter shots, but everything else is a go.
Another busy day but I am sooooooo happy that Darth is really helping to get some of the stuff cleaned out. Finally convinced him that emotion has to take a back seat when age and practicality have become the priority.
Have had to do a lot of internet searching for turn-of-the-century china patterns, etc. Interesting though.
Ah, Jo, I have 5 regular squirrel customers. I need to have a "sharing" class. They seem to be very selfish.
Lolly, if Jack puts his theory into practice, please post some pics, and I don't mean of rain drops.
Sorry I haven't had a chance to catch up on the old blog thread.
Phyrfly Dana......strongly suggest that you go back and delete your email address from on here.....trolls, you know!
Turtle story makes me sick.....for many reasons......those turtles can't even be sold legally...so where did she get it? And whoever caused it to be thrown in the trash should be disciplined----even if it was just the kid! JMHO. The big sister sure didnt handle the situation well at all, either.
Thanks for looking out for me hedgie...I deleted it
I had 3 turtles for many many years...2 red ear sliders and one map turtle. At the time the law stated that turtles had to be larger than a quarter before they could be sold.
We used to have a turtle, too. Had many fish tanks as well. When we fed the fish frozen brine shrimp we fed the turtle too. He was just a little guy, but he got bigger. One day we took him to the river and released him. Then it became known about the deseases that they can carry.
Yeah...I think the quarter size was so that little kids couldn't put them in their mouths. I have seen pet stored sell them smaller tho...It doesn't seenm to be well inforced. Maybe now though
anyone remember those little green turtles they used to sell in Woolworth's or Murphy's...with the plastic bowl with an island and a little fake palm tree?
MITS.....OMG!! You said you never planted a butterfly bush because the squirrels and birds took care of that for you...WELL, we were out walking the dogs and WOW! There is a rogue butterfly bush growing right on the side of the old greenhouse! Got a pic, will post later....It's dark purple (mine is dark pink) and just starting to bloom which is why I didn't notice it before now.
Well the way Spidey's web is moving we can assume there is a breeze! Lightning bugs (fireflies) are up out of the grass and flitting all over the yard.
I am cleaning out a sock drawer of mine. Never saw so many socks/hosiery, but they all have mates! Most Must Go!
Stopping by to say good night. Going to go upstairs and read.
Oh, I did solve the butterfly bush problem. I bought one with blooms on it. We will plant it tomorrow. Also picked up some other flowers.
Of course, I will need to figure out the issue with the other one. It has different shaped leaves from the bush I just bought. Wonder if it really is a butterfly bush?
way to fix that butterfly bush problem Shirley! If you can get a picture of the "butterfly" bush that might not be, maybe we can figure out what it really is.
Yes, Hibiscus blooms all the time, all summer. Mine bloomed all winter in my itty bitty greenhouse. Have another, though, that never blooms.????
Have I ever told you that I am originally from the Rio Grande Valley? It is down in the tip of Texas on the border to Mexico. It is simi tropical. Citrus orchards a plenty, bougainvillea blooms year round as well as hibiscus, bird of paradise, poinsettia, etc. Never really appreciated it when I lived there. Left at 18 to go to college and never lived there again except for two summers then I got married.
Evening Everyone. Went in to work for a few hours in late afternoon.Had tto build a scale model of a carriage house that is at Riversdale Museum house.Think it's being refitted w/exhibits so they like to do a model. While I was there, saw Twin Spotties and their Mom & got a pic!!!First time I've seen twin fawns this year. On the way out, saw Ms. Hoppy, the deer with useless front leg & her fawn. I've seen her baby before & it is one of the largest. She must get in a family way early 'cuz she can't get away from those pesky boys!Tried to get pic thru car window, but they're blurry.:>( I read that Palmer put on another concert! I keep missing them. Maybe tomorrow afternoon I can keep cam running. Mon. is day off, so of course have another dentist appt--was already scheduled before the molar problem. I'm hungry~~~BBL
After reading back over comments, I have missed some of Dana's pictures. Leaf print, Barn in snow...didn't see those. Must go searching. Dana does have a good eye for interesting and unique photos, doesn't she?
Lolly was speaking of Bird of Paradise a while back and reminded me of GG and the time I brought her back some seeds from the Bird of Paradise from Hawaii. She planted them and they grew so well and in a few years, produced the beautiful flower they are so famous for. Of course, she kept it in the house...would not survive our winters. Growing tropical plants from seeds is so much fun. I have had some to get so big, I had to give them away or destroy them.
Wanda, we brought back from Hawaii cuttings from a Ti plant. They were given to us at an orchid farm. One died but I have a beautiful potted plant from the other. It sits on the patio but I bring it in every winter. This winter it did not do too well, but it is recovering now.
Oh, and by the way. Andy probably wins the orchid growing contest. The orchid Michael brought me Mother's Day has dropped all the blossoms. I followed watering directions. Checked the hole in the bottom to make sure it was draining when I thought it had "wet feet". However, it continued to be wet. Finally pulled the orchid out of the pot. It was sitting in another plastic container inside the pot that had no drainage. Grrrrrr! I am thinking of calling the company as it had a tag with directions.
Okay, taking wagers......! Who thinks they will actually get a collar on Hope? I am betting that they will NOT be successful. Hope is a wild child! Bless her!
Boy Lolly - I would be getting a new orchid plant sent to me ASAP from wherever you purchased it.
If they do collar Hope, they are going to need to grab her. That is going to distinguish all trust she has for humans. She may run like crazy when released mainly out of fear and out of not knowing what is around her neck. I think the other collared bears were older - I don't really know. I just hope they hold her gently and talk softly to her before they let her out of their arms. MTBR later
Hi, Gang, Getting here a little earlier today. We were busy most of the day today. Spent some time walking around in downtown Orange. Think we'll go back next Saturday when all the shops will be open. Love to browse through antiques! Better leave the plastic home, though.
HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY, QUINN!! Hope your day was really special!
Prayers for Sen. Byrd! Hadn't heard that he was in the hospital. Hope he's holding his own.
Hubby seems to be feeling somewhat better--still coughing every once in a while, but hopefully a good night's sleep will help a lot. Thank you for your prayers for him!
Hope Margy is having a quiet shift at work, and gets to go home on time!
Phyrfly/Dana, ALL your pictures are beautiful! Lynne, like yours of the firefly, too! Love those little bugs. Don't have them here, darn it! While Hubby & I were exploring Old Towne Orange today, there was a group of students from Chapman University, with their professor, wandering around too--it was a photography class! Small world, isn't it?
Judie, glad you and Darth are making such good progress! Imagine you've tried it already, but my favorite website for old china, etc., is Replacements Ltd. Fun just to go there and look!
Well, guess I'd better call it quits for the day. Leaving the night light burning. The porch light is on, and the eye scanner security is enabled. Prayers said for everyone. Sleep well, and I'll talk to all of you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love you guys! :o]
I found the rest of DANA'S photos...thanks, Paula:)
Had a good day at GG's. It has been 10 days in a row that she has been eating well and mostly upbeat! I got all of her garden and most of her flowers watered and mine, also...so, I guess that means it will rain tomorrow (Paula washed her car)! We do need rain, badly...ask Megan.
Caboosing here...think most everyone is on the pillows now...
Phyrfly: your pictures are beautiful, love the Barn with the reflection in the water, the trilliums, the ferns, and everything else! Thanks Paula for posting the link
also like your avatar, Paula looks familiar after that link you posted earlier Sunday ☺
Glad to hear GG has had many good days, Wanda
all the garden talk...great, sure makes me wish I had more land!
Saw ISS at 9:25 pm, was a good flyover...couldn't get anyone else out to look, they were all on phone calls... I felt just a wee bit guilty about that...
Mom and Pop Loch of the Lowe's just arrived and the chicks are all frisky now! Pop brought a large fish and Mom is about to serve breakfast !
Good morning everyone out there in eagle land! Sad day in West Virginia. Robert Byrd died at 3 a.m. this morning. I thought that man would live forever.
Hope everyone has a great day. I am back to work from vacation and, amazingly, feel pretty refreshed. That doesn't happen very often, usually come back wore out!!
06/27/10: Kim Taylor, who follows a Potomac River osprey nest, says her fierce osprey parents chased off a Great blue heron, then the mother osprey did a victory "dance" after chasing off the bird. Check out the amazing photograph.
This is the same mother osprey who chases away bald eagles.
Osprey Diary 28th June June 28th, 2010 by Osprey Team What a wonderful clear, fresh washed morning here at Lowes- after a big thunder storm last night, which made the cameras go off for a while (sorry!) and which brought much needed rain (as our well is looking very dry indeed). Our chicks are now just over five weeks old, and as many of you have observed, starting to look like proper wee ospreys, not babies any more. With most of their juvenile plumage has grown in they are now able to regulate their own temperature pretty well and are shower proof! They are also now the size of small chickens and getting more co-ordinated, especially with those huge feet. This week we should also see the chicks starting to stretch their wings more and begin the process of developing their flight muscles by flapping. Before long they will be standing on the nest edge giving us all heart attacks! It is hard to believe it may only be two weeks or so until their first flights, all being well. Meanwhile they are still benefitting from mums TLC- they will never know just how lucky they are to have her! Emma Rawling Perthshire Ranger
Good morning, all. West Virginia lost a great friend this morning. Sen Robert Byrd (D-WV) died this morning at the age of 92. He was the longest serving member of the Senate. He did a lot for West Virginia. And Norma dearly loves him. Norma, and all of WV, you have my sympathies.
Lily the Black Bear June 27, 2010 (10:28 PM CDT) Lynn radio-collared Hope about 9:40 PM--too dark for pictures. This begins a new chapter of solving the mystery of where she goes and what she does. -- SM guess alot of people would have lost bets on that one...lol
Good morning all, by the way! Already 80 here....looks like some of us are in for some bad weather today (although no doubt it will miss me here in the "evaporation zone". Poor Megan....I just picture her walking around, eyes glazed over, holding her hose and saying "rain...rain....rain"
GOOD MORNING... Sad news of the passing of Sen. Byrd, but he lived a very full life and was the greatest champion for WV that we ever had. His presence in the Senate and WV will be greatly missed!
Don't know what this day is going to bring, but hope rain is on it's way. I've watered all my gardens except the "out back" one. I am going out to do that right now and surely that will make it rain;)
Well, it seems that Byrd was in Fairfax Inova hospital.....not sure the implication of that....maybe a daughter lives close and he was stricken while wit her??? Don't think he's ever been at Fx. before.
Lynne, they are buds that are turning into purple flowers. I do not remember seeing any purple flowers before, but I took a picture of what I just saw when I went back out. I do not remember any dramatic color change last fall, so I guess no color change.
can't wait for this cold front to move through...looks like far more beautiful weather for the rest of the week with lows in the FIFTIES!!! It will be so nice to turn off the A/Cs and circulate some fresh air!
GOOD WORK, LYNNE...that is, indeed the Chasteberry. Wish I had known about it's uses years ago. I would have given some to my 2 wayward, Ex Son-in-Laws! Have never planted any...didn't want the Capt. to get a whiff of it;)
Good morning! Having some good laughs this morning. Shirley, so your new husband smuggled in a pot plant? ROFLMBO
Condolences to WV. First thing I read when I opened my CNN home page.
Well, it does look like I was completely wrong about Hope. I am thrilled she is collared. Now to learn where she goes and hopefully the collar will keep her protected.
Have been at my kitchen window taking pictures. The screen, though, prevents good pictures. Momma wren is feeding her babies. We can now see them at the opening of the nest. Their mouths come open when she is about 5 ft away in a tree. She lands there to look around before flying to the nest. This is so much fun!
I think I am headed outside before it gets any hotter. Have more mulch to spread. Just when I think I have finished it, I spot a place I forgot. Actually, I have just finished removing all the spent larkspur. Could not mulch there as the flowers were so thick.
I still have some catching up to do. The laptop makes this computer like a dinosaur.
Shirley whether your New husband or your ex-husband planted it. You are going to have to prove to your School that it isn't POT lol
Divorced 2nd husband for growing what that picture looks like.
Hedgie prayers have been going up for Carolyn. Wish the YES answer would come soon.
Lynne2 that was a good way to get people wanting to read the story "Turd Story" lol
Us kids had a turtle it's container looked like it was from Hawaii. Had a place to swim, land area, palm tree. Our turtle was named "pookie". We came home after church one winter Sunday and "pookie" wasn't in his home. We looked he wasn't very far. On heat register was BIG and on the floor and pookie was there. All dry and not wet....we had a funeral for him. We each said our own prayer for "pookie". I still to this day remember where we buried him.
More to catch up::: LOLLY DON'T DO THE RAIN THINY....YOU HAD A FLOOD THE LAST TIME (naked) lmbo
Hello Everyone this muggy Monday Morning... I'm not sure if this is the Audubon or the horticulture hour for your discussions! Our site has so many knowledge persons... I have learned so much. Sorrow this morning for the death of Sen Byrd - His life of 92 years has made its mark in WV and national history. Hope - I am hoping she didn't run to far away. Need to go to the site and see where she spent the night - up in the tree I hope.
I called Norma this morning but she must have already left for Wellness Center. Possibly she has hooked up with some of her friends about Senator Roberty Byrd.
Lily the Black Bear The trail camera caught the newly-collared Hope visiting the old feeding sight this morning. We later homed in on her radio-collar and brought formula and pecans to her. -- SM SUCCESS

M-o-m...I'm STARVING!!!!!!
Hi all! Ah, there is Palmer performing "Palmer's Song". Nice treat!
98 here....YES, it is hot.
Oh, that is funny, she left the nest screaming, flew in a circle and came back to the nest, screaming the whole time.
You know she flew in a cirle as you could hear her screaming go fainter and then grow louder. Funny!
She did it again!
oh, I love it. She flew off for a third time, screaming the whole way, circled and came back to the nest.
Well, she left again, but this time she is in the tree. Can hear her.
Back to the nest. Lots of practice taking off and landing. LOL
At 1-ish position on nest now....
Shirley, should I try to find a match for you? Give me your criteria for your "must haves" and "will not tolerates" in a man and I'll see if I can find one!

101 record high (1943) in Martinsburg. Probably airport temp on hot tarmac!
Aw, Lynne..:( But you got the best present anyway!!
Got lost over there...
I see no dinner yet for our darling eaglet.
Clouding up here, hoping for some wet stuff...even if I did just finish the car...
Headed out for a bit...bbs
yes I did!
Thanks Steve!
Every time we get to see Palmer, she is
hungry so you sure did name this thread correctly.
I told Hubby to go wash the car while I do the rain dance......
I finally saw one of my squirrels out back today - I really had not had any of them visit for peanuts for about 2 weeks. Thought recently could be the heat or maybe the young are in the nest. I also today saw the frolicking tail end of a fawn headed in behind the tall weeds out back.

Jack has another theory to make it rain. Run around the house...the outside.....naked. Have never tried it!
Lynne, that is not right! Someone should have given you a shower after you were married.
Walked back in to Palmer screaming..scared the crap outta me!
And no rain here, just clouds :( Sun back out
Off to prepare dinner!
Palmer is still chirping. I assume there has been no food drop.
I am going to do the same thing Lolly...kabobs again on the grill...yum
Hello Dana - Hope you got all our suggestions on your photos to frams - quite a hard choice since they are all fantastic.
Dana - I can't find you on your personal FB - If you would want me for a friend you will need to invite me, Jo Lennox....... Thanks.

Thank you Mema Jo..I did see your comment...I had to go back a long way :) I sent the FB request, you should see it soon.
Looks like Palmer gave up on all that calling and split...

How difficult can this be!? I so sorry. Try this

What is that? Making that noise at the nest.
Adult and two chicklets on the PH nest.
The unfledged has to eat sometime. Poor little thing.
There was an awful glare that came off the antenna.
Got the invite to be your friend Dana.
Thanks!
Dana, that worked! Sent a friend request.

Going out to walk around the yard. Down to 90, maybe we will survive.

OK Dana, got you from Jo's list.

DANA, the photo of the whorl of fern fronds is unique...at first glance, it looks like a spider down at the base.
Williams River is beautiful.
I remember those, Lynne
Costume Lady, thanks. The fern photo was a great suprising find
Well the way Spidey's web is moving we can assume there is a breeze!

Paula, those Lilies are beautiful!
Lynne, love the videos! Especially the campfire.
Yes, they are really pretty this year.
I bought a crepe myrtle this year...it is blooming...no clue if it's early or late.
I think I also want a hibiscus...I think they flower all summer?
Dana, also like the under the train tress, and the stained glass window.
way to fix that butterfly bush problem Shirley! If you can get a picture of the "butterfly" bush that might not be, maybe we can figure out what it really is.
Lynne, remember those turtles and dishes well!! Had a few.
Don't know why I didn't think about you all linking to Dana thru' my FB!!!
just took this picture of a lightning bug on a black eyed susan...didn't turn out very clear but it looks pretty cool!
I really like that lynne2

Pic of rogue butterfly bush and Dinky with his new front leg on blog now.
Lynne, they are hard to get a picture of! Good job!
I just love bird of paradise! Too bad they won't grow here!
Lily Update just on FB
There are southern hibiscus and northern hibiscus. The southern won't do well in our climate.
I purchased one in TN for someone here in WV and it didn't last long.

Bless her!
Well, dear friends, this is it for today. Thanks for all you say and do. Rest well. Peace and prayers.
It will take a real stroke of luck to collar her!
Lolly, now how could they do that to the orchid? Dumb!
Hmmm, thinking about growing one of those bird of paradise now...
Heading to bed, catch ya'll in the a.m.
Hugs to all ♥
Boy Lolly - I would be getting a new orchid plant sent to me ASAP from wherever you purchased it.
If they do collar Hope, they are going to need to grab her. That is going to distinguish all trust she has for humans. She may run like crazy when
released mainly out of fear and out of not knowing what is around her neck.
I think the other collared bears were older - I don't really know. I just hope they hold her gently and talk softly to her before they let her out of their arms. MTBR later
The hour has come to Go To Bed
Good Night All
Prayers for All especially that little angel Kailey!
Hugs to All ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Nite all! Heading to the shower and to bed.
See ya tomorrow!
Sweet dreams and (((hugs)))
Hi, Gang,
Getting here a little earlier today.
Think I will sleep well tonight.
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Don't know who QUINN is, but I suspect it may be one of Jo's grandsons, so...
♫♪HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU QUINN♫♪
Saw on the late news that Sen. Byrd was seriously ill, but gave no details. Prayers for the gentleman who has done sooo much for WV!
Caboosing here...think most everyone is on the pillows now...
Phyrfly: your pictures are beautiful, love the Barn with the reflection in the water, the trilliums, the ferns, and everything else! Thanks Paula for posting the link
also like your avatar, Paula
looks familiar after that link you posted earlier Sunday ☺
Glad to hear GG has had many good days, Wanda
all the garden talk...great, sure makes me wish I had more land!
Saw ISS at 9:25 pm, was a good flyover...couldn't get anyone else out to look, they were all on phone calls... I felt just a wee bit guilty about that...
Mom and Pop Loch of the Lowe's just arrived and the chicks are all frisky now!
Pop brought a large fish and Mom is about to serve breakfast !
Isla is getting her share first
three Loch Garten chicks plotzed out all in a row, think they are waiting for breakfast too
no parent there
Loch chicks are being very patient waiting their turn
Headed for the pillows here now myself
God Bless Us, Every One
xo ♥
Good morning everyone out there in eagle land! Sad day in West Virginia. Robert Byrd died at 3 a.m. this morning. I thought that man would live forever.
Hope everyone has a great day. I am back to work from vacation and, amazingly, feel pretty refreshed. That doesn't happen very often, usually come back wore out!!
Good "MONDAY" morning everyone:), have a good one.
from BWO....great pics...
Nest Update
06/27/10:
Kim Taylor, who follows a Potomac River osprey nest, says her fierce osprey parents chased off a Great blue heron, then the mother osprey did a victory "dance" after chasing off the bird. Check out the amazing photograph.
This is the same mother osprey who chases away bald eagles.

Osprey Diary 28th June

What a wonderful clear, fresh washed morning here at Lowes- after a big thunder storm last night, which made the cameras go off for a while (sorry!) and which brought much needed rain (as our well is looking very dry indeed).

-- SM
guess alot of people would have lost bets on that one...lol
Norma was the first person I thought of when I heard the news. Sad indeed!!
hjnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnm
(George says good morning.)
Yeah, me too, Sharon. And yes, very sad news.
Sad news about Senator Byrd. Condolences to my West Virginia friends.
Parent with breakfast and Palmer right on their tail!!!
That is one noisy eaglet~!
oh my gosh will someone please hit the snooze button on PalmerLarm!!!
Poor adult....they both must be worn out by now with this one beast of a child!
SO sad about Sen. Byrd...
Good morning all, by the way!
Already 80 here....looks like some of us are in for some bad weather today (although no doubt it will miss me here in the "evaporation zone".
Poor Megan....I just picture her walking around, eyes glazed over, holding her hose and saying "rain...rain....rain"
Ha Ha, I was just about to say Palmer and Parent on the nest and no screeching...and there she went, and there went the adult!
Sure wish Norma was back on here...
((((((HUGS))))) Norma!
Good Morning Paula, Sissy, Mits, Lynne2, Strong & Suzanne!
Boy I'm late checking the nest this morning, but soooo excited to see our beautiful big baby girl is still here. Love her!!!
I know Lori....won't be too much longer before she is gone for good :( so each time I see here I am so grateful for another look!
Just stopping by to offer my condolences regarding the death of Sen. Byrd as I know many of my blog family were very fond of him.
Must do errand this a.m. BBL
Yikes! The morning sun is shining on my metal front door. It is hot enough to give a serious burn.
Palmer took off.
MOrning all. It has taken me over half-an-hour to get cam to open....finally did, and MT nest!
Lovely pic by Kim Taylor....too bad she didn't have a way to video the whole sequence of action.
Gotta go check and see if Lynn Rogers has posted his "ordeal" of collaring Hope!
Don't think he's ever been at Fx. before.
Oh, yes...Hope being collared is going to bring us some more interesting information on this courageous little lady:)
I have posted two pictures of my mystery bush. Take a look and help me identify it.
So sorry to hear about Senator Byrd.
Nope, no narrative of the experience yet.
Thanks for anything you experts can do to tell me what I am growing here.
Paula, love your avatar pic! Did you take it?
Oh my goodness, Shirley...looks like something you could harvest and sell!;)
Thought that too, Wanda. But those leaves are not as smooth!!
I have been watching George. He was very interested in something in the kitchen. I think he has committed bugacide.
Shirley, are the little white flowers actually berries and does it change color in fall?
Good morning everybody. Sad to hear about Sen. Byrd!!
Lynne, they are buds that are turning into purple flowers. I do not remember seeing any purple flowers before, but I took a picture of what I just saw when I went back out. I do not remember any dramatic color change last fall, so I guess no color change.
I will post the purple flower.
Purple flower is posted. If you click on it, it's easier to see.
I think I have an answer for you....
this was a tough find....
are you ready?
I believe it's a Chasteberry
here is a good pic of leaves I found that appear to match
Foliage
and here are some flowers and shrubs in a blog link I found that explain the plant...I sure hope this is IT!!
Chasteberry
This momma's stomach is in knots, waiting to hear whether Carolyn has gotten the job or not..........bet hers is, too.
I sure hope she gets it Lynn! Hope they don't keep her waiting all day
Shirley, mystery bush looks like marijuana..lol
LOL! It does Mits!
OMG! It does look like pot!! Do you have a side business we don't know about Shirley?? LOL!
Good Monday Morning in Eagle Land to ALL.
Need to read some comments other than knowing Hope had been collared. Which is good, might get some very interesting information.
Senator Robert Byrd passed away this morning.
That is about all the new I know till I read comments.
can't wait for this cold front to move through...looks like far more beautiful weather for the rest of the week with lows in the FIFTIES!!!
It will be so nice to turn off the A/Cs and circulate some fresh air!
I think you are right, Lynne. Thank you. I wonder how I picked it up when I was trying to get a butterfly bush.
I did notice that it did not die back the way the butterfly bush did. It attracts hummingbirds! Cool! Will have to encourage it to bloom.
maybe Shirley's "new" husband planted it;)
maybe someone just tagged it incorrectly....but you WIN because it sure is going to be pretty!
ROFL---wouldn't that be a terrible rumor to get around school that Shirley grows pot!?!?
Or maybe I did not read the tag! (I have bought mis-tagged plants before, though.
GOOD WORK, LYNNE...that is, indeed the Chasteberry. Wish I had known about it's uses years ago. I would have given some to my 2 wayward, Ex Son-in-Laws! Have never planted any...didn't want the Capt. to get a whiff of it;)
Probably would have a mob of kids knocking on my door!
But not for chasteberry!
Good morning all,
Sorry to hear about Sen. Byrd.
I need to check up a little because the first thing I read here this am is that Shirly is growing *ot! LOL
Very interestin leaf, DANA...check it out!
I thinks some kids NEED Chasteberry....
Need a manufacture to put some of that stuff into their cigarettes or Jack Daniels;)
What do your neighbors think Shirley? I saw the pic, and indeed it looks like something other than Chasteberry
btw--Lynne2 I am still really digging your new pic!
Lynn, anxiously awaiting to hear from you. Prayers for Carolyn that she gets this job.
Went back and read about the Chasteberry. Very interesting!
thanks PHYRFLY!! :)
gotta make a store run...
I know this is a heart-wrenchig time for Lynn and her baby. Praying that this is the window that Carolyn has been waiting on to open.
Thanks, Wanda and everyone.....I was just praying and crying...not fair to keep the poor kid waiting like this.
Have a great Monday! I will be checking in frequently. Want to hear what Lynn has to report.
Us kids had a turtle it's container looked like it was
from Hawaii. Had a place to swim, land area, palm tree. Our turtle was named "pookie". We came home
after church one winter Sunday and "pookie" wasn't in his
home. We looked he wasn't very far. On heat register was BIG and on the floor and pookie was there. All dry and not wet....we had a funeral for him. We each said our own prayer for "pookie". I still to
this day remember where we buried him.
More to catch up::: LOLLY DON'T DO THE RAIN THINY....YOU HAD A FLOOD THE LAST TIME (naked) lmbo
Sure seems like a good breeze blowing at NCTC. Not here! But little sun, so temps are staying cooler at 85! Hopefully rain is on the way.
Okay, I have posted a picture for your comparison, folks.
Lunchtime. BBL.
Thinking about Carolyn, Lynn.
Baby Kailey is breathing completely on her own now!! God has his hands on that child for sure!!!
Lily the Black Bear
The trail camera caught the newly-collared Hope visiting the old feeding sight this morning. We later homed in on her radio-collar and brought formula and pecans to her. -- SM
SUCCESS
Suppose to be ROBERT
You go you little Angel - He sure does have special plans for you! Thanks Sissy for all those updates on Kailey!
Thanks Dana M. for trying to contact Norma. I feel certain she is aware of Sen Byrd's death but please let her know we are really thinking of her.
Dana, we had lots of funerals for our turtles too....they didn't last long!
No word yet Lynn/ UGH
