Just came in from yard work. I am exhausted, gotta go clean up. Made a new friend today.☺ Jack and I were working in the yard, lady stopped and walked up the drive. She had questions about some of my plants, mainly the ferns. Anyway, we walked the yard, visited. We are both from the Rio Grande Valley. Her little home town is right next to my even smaller hometown and actually my parents were from her hometown and we went to church there. Same place Jack and I were married. Small world. I dug some plants for her and hopefully she will stop by soon and get them. Our street is a deadend and she lives further down, passes our house all the time. Nice to know folks passing by admire our yard. My efforts are appreciated!

Off to clean up!

That is very nice, Lolly. Did she just recently move there?

hedgie said...

Called Norma....since she is still computer incommunicado....she is planning on coming for the 12th!

Quick visit.

Found two DVDs on parental bullying of their children -- a different slant on bullying. Still need to find a legal route to get interview done with child molesters.

Lynn, love your twin. Beauteous to be sure.

Lolly, so nice you met someone with such close ties to your growing up home. Hope you two will make friends.

Off to look for trouble

Palmer back at 1 position, looking out longingly...not yet, baby!

Got a bit of clean-up from all the winds done outside. Sun is warm, and humidity is high. Plenty more to do....a little at a time.

June 12th sounds like fun. I can't make it from Maine. I'm jealous. I am planning for October. CAN'T WAIT.

Ragdoll said...

Hedgie, I haven't even started my yard work. Between working and getting pneumonia I haven't had the chance. My flowers are all coming in beautiful, but I didn't even get to rake the beds. I have bought more flowers two weeks ago and they are very thirsty in their little pots on sunny days.

My husband and I are going to spend the whole weekend getting things done.

Ragdoll said...

Palmer wants to fly soooo bad.

hedgie said...

Ragdoll, so glad you are planning for Oct.!!! We have so much fun!
As for the cleanup---I had already done it once post-winter, but those winds last week were fierce and made such a mess again...argh!!
I can't do much at one time, but do what I can as I can.

Good evening all! What a beautiful evening it is, too!

Great story Lolly!

HEDGIE....that's so funny! Petty cool blog.

My family needs some prayers. It looks like my SIL has either MS or Neuromyelitis optica (Devic's Disease). Further tests need to be done, but it seems it is more likely Devic's. This is not good. At this time, they are doing a course of IV corticosteroids for the next few days and she'll remain in hospital during the treatment. That's all we really know. Except that when I talked to her, I don't think the Neurosurgeon had fully discussed this disease with her because she seemed to think she'll be just fine after the steroid treatments. I've done some research this afternoon and I am scared to death for her.

Steve doesn't know yet. Not sure if I'll let his mom tell him or if I should. UGH. It's a beautiful evening for talking to my Lord.

Going to get dinner....BBL

I need to pop on here quickly, before the evening TV shows start.
Got to GG's late this morning and she had been out in the garden pulling weeds. Looks like giving her the nerve pill in the morning is a success! Doctor says a whole one is not good for her, but a half one does nothing...a whole one allows her to be more like herself. What am I to do...listen to the doctor or go with what seems to work? I WILL DISCUSS this with her new doctor next month.

I am so happy that NORMA is planning on joining us on the 12th. It has been sooo long since we've seen her!

Happy, also, that Ragdoll is joining us in October. Anyone named RAGDOLL is a friend of mine, since "Raggedy Ann, Ragdoll is one of my best sellers":) Ragdoll, hope you are planning on joining us on the Friday night before the Saturday festivities. It is a super-fun evening, getting to know those whom we haven't met yet and reconnecting with friends that we haven't seen for a while. Guarantee you a FUN weekend!

Wanda, so glad GG was more like herself today! That is a tough one about how much to let her have. UGH. Seems like if it's not going to interfere with other meds by doing that...well, quality of life is very important!

Jo, my SIL is the same age as me, 24. LOL!!! We are both 48. She does live in Fla.

paula eagleholic said...

Now a quiet eagle,

Neat story Lolly.

Lynne, I'll have to check out your 'twin'

Margy, is that a truck for your avatar?

paula eagleholic said...

Howdy, Lynne! Are you keeping the second puppy, I forget her name.

paula eagleholic said...

Cool, Margy, love the flowers in the jeep

Lynne2 said...

Paula, her name is Pearl. One of the volunteers said she'd approach the board of the rescue to see if they'd waive the adoption fee in lieu of our fostering her for 2 months now, and because no one has shown any interest in her for some reason. SO, we may end up with her!

Lolly said...

Well, I do hope you get to keep Pearl. I think she was meant for you!

Now, let me tell you Lynne. There is no reason in this world to fib about your age when you are 48. That is young!!! ☺

Yes, prayers for your SIL. And, she is young........ too!

Laurel just called. She had been to a gold party. She got $185 for broken, misc gold she had lying around. She was happy!

Lolly said...

Lady I used to teach with is now buying gold, having parties, etc. Think I will call her and see what I can get for broken stuff.

Lynne2 said...

LOL Lolly! My new strategy is that I'll now tell people who don't me that I'm 58 and won't they think I look great for my age then!!! Never pays to try to lie YOUNGER!

Petty cool that Laurel got the cash for gold!

Lynne2 said...

I don't have any gold. Except my wedding band a a pair of hoop earings. But Steve has a HEART of gold!!! Priceless!

paula eagleholic said...

Ah, Pearl!

Yes, Lynne, that is what is most important!

Palmer trying to convince the adult in the tree she needs food.

Lynne2 said...

If we keep her, I want to name her Dolly. She just looks like a Dolly to me. And she'll need to loose her fru fru cocker cut and get a short cut...she's an outdoorsy girl, not a fru fru girl!

Lolly said...

Trying to figure out how Palmer is sitting. On her side? Looks funny!

Lynne2 said...

she looks funny, like on her tummy with a tilt to the right and the left foot hanging out. Oops, just moved.

I know Lynn. What a mess. She's in such bad shape already and these symptoms have been going on for over a year at least, without anyone til now figuring this out for her. Steroids start tomorrow which will hopefully bring some much needed relief.

Wow, I missed another whole evening w/out stopping by. Late afternoon Dr. appt~~~it was an owwie! He had to lance an inflamed cyst & NO novacaine ☺! This is not my week for body parts! Came home & took a pain pill (from the dentist!)Had a Panda nap, then played in the dirt with the spotlight on to help finish planting some pots. When I was first sitting at table on deck that has umbrella, saw Daddy Downy & Sonny. The big red-bellied WP came to suet & disturbed them. Baby flew under the umbrella & fluttered at the center pole! He did fly back to tree! If I had my hand out, he could have landed!!
First time I saw the cam late morning, Palmer was at 1 o'clock & it looked like a smaller juvie was w/him/her at 2! I then figured out that P had right wing stretched out & that was the wingtip!
Well I'm probably ready to konk out, so Prayers for all & Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)

Good morning! I am not going to school today. I have a class tonight that starts at 4:00 pm, and thought I would get some research papers graded today since I have another class that will last all day Saturday. (Besides, a working woman has to have some weekend time.)

Our seniors have a Kings Dominion trip today, so my two 12th grade classes will be mostly gone. My juniors have plenty of work to do.

The class I am going to is on classroom museums. I got an e-mail from the teacher that said we should bring the things we want to work with. I have scrapbooks from the 1920s that my parents put together when they were in college that I'm going to take.

stronghunter said...

Going back to read some earlier blogs.

Judie said...

Good morning, everyone.

Jo, it won't take much to make you the most gorgeous mema of the bride. So glad the weather looks great for tomorrow.

Shirley, the museum class sounds fascinating. Please remember to tell us about it.

Off for coffee and newspaper. Will go for groceries later.

stronghunter said...

Read back and see that Jo did some fixes on my e-mail connections and the blog. Thanks. I also see that you all got my link to the news story about the attempted abduction in Hunter's sitter's neighborhood. It was scary.

I see that Palmer is doing wingersizes this morning. Haven't had lots of time to watch.

stronghunter said...

Hi, Judie!

Could not get the Loch cam to open for some reason, Margy. Will try again later.

E-mailed the teacher for the museum class and told her what I'm bringing. Thought I might get some ideas before I go this afternoon. She will be connecting it to research projects for students, which is a really good idea. I will need to make adjustments for high school students, but it is also helpful to get a fix on what is expected of younger students.

Good morning! Well, we finally turned the AC on yesterday, but turned it off at bedtime and it is still off, 73.

Having to keep Annie in. She likes to lie on the brick right below the wrens nest. She knows something is going on. She is not a climber so no worry about her getting to the nest. The parents though do get upset at her and fuss!

Going to get Jacob from school this afternoon, then order pizza to be delivered and t-ball at 6:30. Really looking forward to seeing the boys, it has been two weeks!
