Lolly, happy shopping!! Get a truck! Mine rides just like a car!

You're welcome, Mits, Hedgie.

Thanks to Steve for the fresh one so early this week.

Good for Finney!!! Hope they all hatch, and that there is no repeat of last years tragedy. R.I.P. Koo.

Hi, Lynn, Jim, and Mits,

Thanks, Jim, for the call over to the new thread.

Here's a picture of my Mother's Day orchid plant. Gorgeous--I love it! It's a Phalaenopsis, or Moth Orchid. Here are the care instructions that came with it:

Phalaenopsis is the perfect orchid
for beginners. They are easy to grow, producing arching sprays of long-lasting, exotic looking flowers.
Temperature: 65-85 degrees F day;
55-70 degrees F night.
Water: Every 5-7 days, allow to dry between watering. Do not allow pot to sit in water. Avoid water in crown of plant.
Feed: Every 2 weeks with half-strength balanced liquid feed.
Light: Moderate to bright filtered light, 70-80% shade, no direct sun.

Hi everyone and thank you Steve.

Wishing the best for Finney nest. Thanks for the update, Jim.

Palmer looking lovely. Both parents then both poofed. No food. Palmer had some comments on that.

Well, the faculty meeting wasn't too bad. Had some lunch for us and the Dean kept it short and sweet. Finally had an opportunity to tell my thoughts to the man who hired me to teach police. Said I thought when he wanted to meet me and discuss my syllabus, he was just looking for some ideas. Told him I never saw the job offer coming. We both had to laugh. That was six years ago.

I don't do ceremonies with regalia. I'm the one who always trips over the gown part. Didn't even attend my own. I am only attending the police ceremony Sat. night as an observer in the audience. The big official graduations are Sunday.

Jo and Ceil -- enjoy your dinner together. Hope someone has a crab cake for me.

Beautiful orchid, Andy. Years ago someone told me orchids get a bad rap for being difficult and they're not so temperamental as people think.

If it isn't one thing it's another. Have to submit change of grade forms for 9 students. Stupid excel didn't accurately translate numerical grades to the correct letter grade -- Grrrr! Many malcontent students. Interesting how they want their mistakes overlooked but just let a teacher make a mistake and there is no mercy.

Okay, getting ready to search the frig for inspiration. Not too much in the way of options. Oh, beef ribs were good. Just have to trim off fat but did taste good -- maybe once a year.

Wow, slow day. Been out and now back and very few comments.

Andy, you got the same orchid plant that I did. Hope we do well with them!

Okay, we have eliminated the Chevy Tahoe, narrowed it to a Chevy Suburban or a Ford Expedition. Lynn, can not do a truck. Sometimes we travel with Laurel and the boys. Jack already has a truck, a small one.

Lolly said...

Think I am going to go putter in the yard. Jack is preparing to grill some jalapenos. Have a new luscious sounding recipe. ☺

tomato plants seemed to have done well overnight,
"sheetz" were damp and cold so I guess they warded off the threat to the tomatoes
hope everyone else's plants fared okay, especially Megan's !

Sure know that Jo and Ceil and their fubby jubbys will have a good time tonight

Oooo goody! An orchid growing contest -- what fun that saga will be.

Saw the Wilmington DE falcon in the nest this morning, seemed like she was eating, maybe donated food, she fussed with the eggs just a little but I did not see her actually roosting on them.
Sigh

hedgie said...

Lovely orchid, Andy! And Lolly has its twin!

Judie, glad your meeting was short. Can understand what you mean about the ceremonies. ARGH---grade changing/correcting....so glad it was apparent that the puter messed it up!!! We KNOW you wouldn't make mistakes!

Sorry to hear about the littlest RTH

Lolly said...

Got your email, Lynn. Thanks! Sent a reply.

Jack and I just had dinner on the patio. It is a wonder we did not blow away. The wind is something else!!!

Everytime I go to see Palmer he is doing nothing. Get up, Palmer! I want to see you flap those wings!

Lolly said...

Looks like he is hardly in the nest right now,

paula eagleholic said...

Lolly, grilled jalapenos sound good...how do you prepare them? Stuffed, marinated?

Judie said...

Palmer too close to the edge for me. Looking out and fantasizing about what will come all too soon as he/she will soar with the wind.

So sad about the baby RTH. Been watching them and had so hoped all three would survive. Sometimes I do not like mother nature.

Dinner tonight was another no no. Darth cooked Popeye's chicken. Yummy!

Off to watch some tv. BBL

Lolly said...

Paula, the jalapenos were stuffed with a cream cheese mixture, wrapped in bacon and broiled or grilled. We have done them before but this was a new recipe for the cream cheese mixture. Yummy!

Want the recipe?

Lolly said...

LOL Just saw Judie's "yummy".

paula eagleholic said...

That's a big YES Lolly, we love hot and spicy foods! Thank you!

paula eagleholic said...

And cream cheese, too!

paula eagleholic said...

Had to laugh at John last night..he wanted my hollandaise recipe, which was my Mom's. So he made the first batch, which Ajay thought was too lemony. So he made a second batch. He had made it to go with the asparagus...but with 2 batches for just him and Ajay, they put it on everything! What's not to like with hollandaise sauce on it.

Oh, and both batches turned out!

Lolly said...

Yea, for John! A man in the kitchen is a great thing. I will type up the recipe and email it to you. Watching DWTS right now.

Lolly said...

Just read about the muskrat that is bothering the loon. That stinks!

We are getting interruptions of the TV programing. Tornado on the ground north of us on Lake Texoma, on the TX OK border.

paula eagleholic said...

Thanks so much Lolly! Both my boys do pretty good in the kitchen!

Judie said...

Oh Lolly, please post for all of us that love spicy! Sounds so good. I agree with Paula, what's not to like about Hollandaise? What's not to like about guys who know their way around a kitchen?

Reading back a bit, I do hope Megan's flowers are okay.

Can't see much of Palmer. Boris is too busy these days.

Well, I think I need to say goodnight. Andy, if you're not too tired, please set our alarm. Sleep well and pleasant eaglet dreams. The night light is one for those coming in later.

Well, it is down on a beautiful scene! lol

hedgie said...

That is true, Lolly!!! It is lovely!

Jo, glad you all had a good time! Where did you eat? Sorry you can't stay longer!! Hope you DO beat the rain coming home. Be careful!

I have really vegged today----with a couple of naps. Don't know what's causing that....but with 2 days of rain coming up, bet I'll do more of it!!

hedgie said...

Update on Hope:
Hope is growing In just the last week, Hope’s face has changed noticeably. Her ears are longer. Her nose is longer. At the same time, her legs are getting longer. She is running and climbing better. Not unexpected, of course. ...

Lolly said...

Listening to the news. Lots of tornado damage in Oklahoma. Really sad! All just a hour north of Laurel.

Heading to the shower.

Sweet dreams!

Lolly said...

Oh, Lynn. Forgot to mention I received my "I hibernated with Lily and Hope" t-shirt. Like it better than the other one. Has a big picture on it of both bears. Makes me smile to look at Hope.

hedgie said...

Hilarious video of a bear cub in an Australian zoo.....it was up in the top of a scrawny little tree and wouldn't come down. Mom wasn't happy about that and after bending and shaking tree and cub hanging in there, she broke the tree in half and down he came!!! Reporter said maybe the cub was avoiding mom's wrath for some other infraction! LOL!!

hedgie said...

Cool, Lolly. I was going to order one, but it wasn't available in gray....so thought I'd wait to see if they start offering it. Like the bigger pic, for sure!

Tub time for me. See you all tomorrow! Sleep tight. Peace and prayers for all.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Gang,

Ooh--sorry to hear about the tornado in OK! Prayers for that situation!

Judie, glad the faculty meeting went well! You're right--orchids aren't really difficult.

Really sorry about the youngest RTH--hope others will be OK!

Sounds like Hope is getting to be a big girl! Really growing!

Was happy to see my Band-tailed Pigeons back again today. They sure are pretty!

Hope Megan's plants survived the cold! Everyone else's, too!

Watched the Tom Selleck movie tonight--really liked it, but can't wait for the next installment!

Tired tonight--think I'll go veg in TV land for a bit. Leaving the night light on. The porch light is automatic. The eye scanner security is enabled. Prayers said for everyone. Hope Chrissy & family are OK! Sleep well, everyone, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love you guys! :o]

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...
Here in Nestville (Martinsburg/Shepherdstown), it is a cold 41°, only going up to 52°. Rain tonight (our gardens need it) and tomorrow will go all the way up to near 80°.

I've been so busy, lately, that I keep forgetting to tell you that my church friend, Joyce, is at home recovering nicely from her two kidney surgeries. She had two cancerous tumors removed from one kidney and last week, had the remaining kidney removed. Both surgeries were done Laparoscopically. Her remaining kidney is functioning so well that she doesn't need dialysis, nor will she need chemo or radiation!
I think our church has had it's first miracle in 12 years...last one was a baby born at less than 1 pound, and after much prayer and time, she thrived and is now a pretty 12 year old! Yes, God us good:)

Costume Lady said...

GET OFF THAT EDGE, PALMER!!
In his Dad's favorite spot at 12:30...looks like he wants to jump:)
